hi!! do you have any infinity nikki tips to share? your outfits look really beautiful- i'm not caught up with the story yet, and i wanted to know if some of those shoes were from resonance, recharge or storyline/world? im struggling with the impulse to spend money (i'd feel fine doing like a single purchase or something, but my road with nikki has been paved with quite a bit of money already, so i'm worried about the slippery slope)

some of my favorite outfits in the game are legit just free stuff you find/earn by playing! a lot of the stuff i’ve shown off here are in-game rewards entirely for free either by crafting or doing styling challenges.

so far here are my big tips i’ve learned just w my own experience (and mistakes 😬):

- there are SO many clothes in the overworld, way more than you might expect. check every chest and shop you find WHEN you find it. it’s never not worth it even if it’s slightly out of the way. same with dews of inspiration! they will only get harder to locate as you clear more of the map so make sure you never pass up the opportunity to grab one. EVERYTHING in this game ties back to clothes one way or another, so it’s never not worth it to be interacting w all of the systems in one way or another.

- do not spend a ton of bling until you are further in the main story quest. it’ll be tempting to roll stuff like the wish o matic but if u blow all of your bling on it or anything else early on you WILL regret it later. bling is used for every other upgrade system in the game.

- make sure u are not capping out on vital energy too often, its super quick to run a realm of the dark fight or trade it in for collection insight if you’re close to cap and about to log off. its constantly replenishing and the currencies/materials you can get from it are so valuable down the line.

- i would HIGHLY ADVISE that you save the diamonds you earn exclusively to use for pulls on limited time gacha banners. the ones with the pink resonance crystals. do not use them to refill your energy, do not use them for the permanent banner pulls. you are going to need to do a good chunk of pulls to get everything u need from limited banners before they go and this will make sure you are minimizing the temptation to spend real world money when u dont need to.

- don’t skip out on leveling eureka! the system can be a tad confusing and somewhat de-emphasized at first but it’s low risk and so worth it. ANY well leveled eureka at all is better than nothing for styling contests. you can literally double your score with a good set of eureka, it can be the difference between an average or perfect score.

- speaking of styling challenges, try to unlock the mirror styling challenges as soon as u can! you will know them when u see them, i forget exactly how you unlock it but there is a weekly reset version of the challenge that gives great rewards.

If so, I did something correctly O_o,, alright I’m just gonna say it,, heres why: this is an alternate version of Veronica who develops hebephrenia (a subcategory of schizophrenia) throughout the course of this blog. !this will affect her character! it’s a personal headcannon of mine that veronica develops schizophrenia after the course of Heathers (mainly as a poor explanation for the ghosts in the musical) (yeah veronica will be seeing ghosts)

I did do my research into schizophrenia, but alas I am not an expert. I am really scared of portraying Veronicas schizophrenia incorrectly so please correct me i rlly appreciate it ^^ (as long as ur respectful about it) but yeah disclaimer i might be portraying the disorder wrong on accident. I also have headcannons how it affects veronicas life so if you want to read more check out this post

in short, veronica will be experiencing disorganised speech (like in the intro) at times and that will affect her ability to communicate.

Tinny little fun fact so you don’t rack your brain over this one: Labyrinth of Souls was actually my second top option for naming Gilded Constellations, I wanted it to have a very David Bowie-esque vibe which is why Labyrinth (literally from the movie The Labyrinth, was just perfect, but I felt it was too corny (especially when the first iteration was Labyrinth of Hearts) that I went for Gilded Constellations instead.

Gilded being inspired by Golden Years from Bowie, and constellations because our babies are our moon and stars. In Spanish we have a word that’s “Astros” which roughly translates to “all the things in the sky” but there is no cool version of it in English so constellations it was in the end.

Redid my reference sheet back in december! I'm still not 100% with their design tbh but im too lazy to do a redesign again! Also i cannot keep their wing size consistent it's horrendous. (Maybe at the end of the year ill redo it again ... a version 3 ... like its a tradition ...)

Edit: I've now turned this into a masterpost for my oc so have a summary of their stories!

Canon:

World setting: Quick explanation of the world bc it's important to understand why I wrote what I wrote. The world is basically the same as ours except with hybrids and magic and stuff (I'll shortly refer to this as just hybrids) and also better in the sense that people are more tolerant. Even though humans still make up the majority of the population, you'll rarely see any specism going on. I don't base the places where everything goes on on a specific country/culture, just how I see the world (though I definitely wouldn't say everything takes place in Belgium). SO to say it shortly, it's a happy world made for me to self-indulge.

Story: Fraos grew up on a farm with their dad. They are pretty well off, not millionaires or anything but they can afford niceties. Fraos is homeschooled by their dad who is pretty good at it. Their dad is a chicken avian like them and his name ... is David (I suck ass at coming up with masc names sorry). Once Fraos is 'graduated' from secondary (I am going to use the Flander's school system fuck you guys with ur highschool and shit) they decide they want to go to college and live on their own during that. They also wanna try and live off their own money, so while their dad provides the money needed to attend college and the first month or two of rent, Fraos gets 2 jobs. A day and a night job. the day job is working at a cat shelter, and the night job is working at a night cafe (idk if this actually exists but in the first itteration of the story it was a bar but that doesnt fit in with my current vision). The only reason they do 2 jobs it purely because they want to, even though 1 would suffice. At college they are studying photography, and then we are in the present day in canon. I hope that's a bit clear.

One thing I didnt mention is that their mom died when they were like 3-4 years old so I thought I'd say that real quick. Their mom was a snow owl avian

I'll write out their story eventually and then post it on ao3 and link to that here :)

Alternate universes:

Okay so Fraos is in 2 alternate universes and 1 au that is kinda not an au but it's complicated, and I'm also going to add summaries to those stories here bc im on a roll anyway

Starting off the the au but not an au bc the other two aus are loosely based on this on. This is the story I have made with a couple of friends over the past like 4 years or so about our minecraft SMPs. We are on our 4th one right now, and I'll only be talking about that one bc Fraos wasnt a thing in the first 3, rather it was a different oc whom I killed off in the 3rd smp. I am however not going to explain the entire story and setting bc then I'd still be writing by tomorrow

Fraos goes through roughly the same stuff as in the original story, but instead of wanting to go to college they wanna go explore the world, so they do. Eventually at some point they get knocked out off the air by some wind and crash into a little camp. This camp is from a group of travelers who are searching for the Farlands, and Fraos decided to join them because it's a great way to explore. Eventually they all give up on their search, especially bc there are some elders who are on the verge off death. (I mean they do die somewhat but that's too long to explain and not important rn). they all settle near eachother, Fraos settling in a small mountain area. Semi important is that they arent used to being around other people so they may or may not spy on people to see how to act. Anyway and bunch of stuff happens and eventually a tech guy named Ximie wages war on the non tech people, which are Elmo Jr. and, well, Fraos. Somehow. I actually dont know bc we never write this shit out and it makes me forget what the consensus is. Anyway uuhmm sort of nuken and nuclear warfare blabla bla they all have to move bc their homes are destroyed fromm the war and they go to a desert (for some reason all of them idk). Fraos is really upset that their home got destroyed and is now trying their best to recover.

The next au is my from one to another au (https://archiveofourown.org/series/4077508). Just know that they're a wizard mage whatever and they lived on a ship before they docked long time in the primary location of the story. I made this design in gacha life 2 so here you go:

It's a bit outdated tbh cuz they DEF would not wear a skirt (i dont even know what that outfit is for anymore) but yeah. I cannot draw that hat for shit so this is all you get.

And then the last au, my personal favourite is my I love my wife au (https://archiveofourown.org/series/4419658) which is just pure self-indulgence and me trying to write a romantic relationship shipping mine and my online wife's ocs (we arent actually together btww thought I'd mention that. she does have a girlfriend and everything I write is just fiction, not RPF)

Here the story is exactely the same as the original, except they meet Smiley and everything. If you wanna know more just read it, but know 99% of it was written around or past midnight. I didnt write everything in chronological order and i keep procrastinating on making a list with everything in order sooooo just figure it out tbh

no worries anon!! :o (and yes there will be arc 5 spoilers in this explanation 👍)

when i say tome in regards to arc 5+ shenanigans, im referring to the tome/book of wisdom that roswaal had in arc 4. quick arc 4 recap here: there is however three main book of wisdoms total—the original that echidna has, and the ones beatrice and roswaal had. these book of wisdoms can basically tell the future, though beatrice and roswaal have limited versions. beatrice’s was destroyed (after remaining blank for ages) so she could make a contract with subaru. roswaal’s book was thrown into fire by ram when she went to confront roswaal in arc 4. roswaal’s book is also the reason why he figured out that subaru is a time traveler + roswaal used it to aid in his arc 2-4 plans, with the caveat being that roswaal doesnt know how subaru time travels. only that subaru can time travel and has time traveled before.

okay now moving on to arc 5 things!! :o the reason why—unless i specify otherwise—im mainly referring to roswaal’s book/tome when im talking about arc 5+ is because at a certain point in arc 5, the witch cult storm and attack the city of priestella. the archbishop of wrath, sirius, demands that the book of wisdom that was brought into the city be given to her. subaru is understandably confused because last he checked, echidna’s book of wisdom is out of reach and beatrice and roswaal’s copies were destroyed. but anastasia theorizes that there still has to be a copy that exists.

and anastasia’s right. it’s revealed that otto has been in possession of roswaal’s tome—after arc 4, he saved the burnt remains (he ACTIVELY went looking for these remains after arc 4) with the intention of bringing it to a restorer (a magic user who can restore objects) so he can read the tome. hes doing this because hes been keeping an eye on roswaal since arc 4; hes wary of roswaal and any future plans roswaal may have, so otto wants to read the tome to possibly get this info. and then otto plans on destroying the tome again afterwards so it doesnt get into the wrong hands 👍 this also means though that since roswaal figured out subarus time traveling via the tome—otto will too if he manages to restore the tome and read it.

theres also a few other things this implies about otto as a person (and subaru, given his first reaction is to go “man otto does so much for me 🥺” at otto and not “ok what the hell you kept this secret for a year”) but i wont go too much into that here also bc ive made numerous posts about that 👍 did find this bit rn though in the arc 5 wn if youre interested:

Here's my favourite couple, Cyrus Darvish and Zephyr! Zephy is actually a silly clown girl who does gigs, and Cyrus is an aspiring vet that totally is normal and doesnt have any weird quirks ( dubious shapeshifting ahem)

yes i used a reference for this and... this was a quick doodle of the same couple. yeah its unfinished as heck but HEY funny cat bites bf

also, this is a coloured ish version of Cyrus. he used to be an angel, but now i flipped him into just inheriting the powers from his father. and by powers i mean i confiscated his illusions and angel-ness and gave him full fled shapeshifting as i said earlier. its fully worth it, because now cyrus morphs subtly into other hybrids/peeps around him. Think of it as an extreme version of mirroring someone.

yes i do like drawing the PASWG artstyle even if im mid at it.

and then theres this... this art of Storm i spent way too long on. and its not even finished as well, but hey its my most proud of artwork..ish. I gave them doll hands instead of their typical glass prosethtics because... i just didnt know how to draw/colour them (frankly i dont get how rn either still, but hey theres cool fishies in them in his current design!)

This is one of my first pieces i actually attempted to render. im SUPER into superhero and villian stuff, which is what my world(akuma) is based off of. and zero is a hero.. ill admit the colours and the shirt isnt the best but i was never one with the colour. this is Zero, who's lore is so complex due to his natural association with HAIMON. i wanna go in more depth of both of their relationships but zero is a beloved oc that i neglect a bit. :3

I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH U KNOW ABOUT OFF. so i am going 2 give a very quick rundown of the basics. french rpg game where you play as a guy called the batter who declares its his "holy mission" to purify the world, aka kill a bunch of ghosts and creatures that are haunting the land. i wont get into spoilers until later so this is basically all u need to know for now.

ZACHARIE is like. sans undertale but for people in 2008. hes a 4th wall breaking merchant that talks over the batter's shoulder directly to the player, referencing the fact that theyre in a video game etc etc. i love him dearly. (off as a whole does a lot of cool 4th wall break stuff, the player (you) is as much of a character involved in the story as anyone onscreen. very cool. anyway)

so. in the second zone of the game you are in this library trying to find codes in some of the books. most of the books are kind of nonsense flavor text so the codes stand out easier with the exception of ONE. called "the toad king and the merchant". its written as a fairy tale, ("once upon a time" in the beginning and everything) and it very briefly tells the story of a king whose "actions and appearance were so repulsive he was named the Toad King" until one day a man in a mask shows up in the kings court to challenge him to a duel and eventually kills him. now this is NEVER officially confirmed in canon but its. very heavily implied that the hero in this story is supposed to be zacharie. man in a mask AND a merchant . etc etc u get the point

SO HERES WHERE I WILL GET INTO SOME. SPOILERS. so beware. the game has been out since 2008 but its suuuch a good story to go into completely blind AND a lot of it is very open ended and everyone sort of interprets it differently so this is entirely just. my point of view how i personally like to interpret the story. so not everyone will feel this way but its how *I* feel and thats all i care about rn 😌 my blog i get ti make the rules etc.

ok ive stalled enough spoiler time: at the end of the game you sort of find out that this world youve been "purifying" is actually the creation of a very sick little boy named hugo. he's trapped in his room bc of his unspecified terminal illness so he creates this entire world to entertain himself so he has something to do/people to talk to etc. a LOT of the characters that you meet in the story are like... simulacra of people who hugo knows in his real life (ex: its implied that the "queen" trapping hugo in his room is his mother, the batter is his father, etc.) so he created the batter (the character) as a representation of his real father, who would sometimes bring him comic books to read. these comic books featured a guy dressed as a baseball player as the main villain, and hugo was angry at his father for not letting him leave and bringing him books he didnt want, so he sort of combined the two in this world in his head. im getting off track here but god i could talk about OFF for hours dude. ok. back to zacharie

theres a scrap of paper you can find in Hugo's room at some point that says something to the effect of zacharie is his best friend/the nicest person he knows. so this is where we get into my personal takes on the situation: hugo at one point had been given the toad king fairy tale to read, and latched onto this hero and made him a permanent fixture in his imaginary land. etc etc something to the effect of having a hero who would slay the evil king keeping all of his subjects trapped in their kingdom; hugo wsnting someone to do that for him too, so he creates a version of that hero to be his friend. which gives us. the zacharie we see in the game.

does this make ANY sense. im realizing now that ive just spent 90% of this post explaining the plot of OFF and not actually talking about my backstory stuff. sorry. here we go.

i am going 2 direct everyone who has read this far to THIS VIDEO which i saw for the first time when i was first getting super into OFF back in like. 2015 or so. and let me tell you it is absolutely instrumental for so many of my zacharie thoughts. i love it so much

so the way i like to think about it is. zacharie was a sort of travelling merchant; he carried around all of his wares on his back as he moved from town to town/kingdom to kingdom. (he always kept his face covered too, but i am taking artistic liberty with the reasoning behind this because i have not decided which reason i like best. so its a mystery. important part is he wears a mask over the lower half of his face. oooooo mysterious). because he was also alone on the road so much, he carried a sword with him and knew how to defend himself. when he first visited the Toad King's kingdom, he saw how miserable the people were, but they still welcomed him in and treated him as kindly as one of their own, and he knew he had to do Something to help them. he wasnt a fighter, he wasnt some trained hero, he was just. a guy who happened to kind of know how to use a sword and wanted to do something good with it.

the king in my mind started off as just some horrible evil guy, but he was cursed by a witch or a sorcerer who he had offended somehow. this curse turned him into a giant humanoid toad, and everyone who ever set eyes on his face would be forever filled with hatred and fear (etc etc something like that. fairy tale curse.)

oh shit cool fight scene etc etc. i like to think zacharie has his add-ons at this point simply because i LOVE the guardian angel imagery that would evoke but i have not fully decided on how/when he gets his add-ons. ill thunk abt the logistics of that later. imagine if you will, though. a man in a hooded cape with most of his face covered walks into the king's court and announces that he's challenging the king to a duel. the king laughs in his face and boasts that no one has ever beaten him in a fight before, what makes this stranger think he's so tough. the king goes to attack him and he throws the cape off to reveal a sword and a glowing halo and wings. GOD thats so cool. its so like. basic fantasy fairy tale type stuff but i gotta admit im weak for that sometimes.

zacharie wins the fight, but just before hes about to kill the king, in one last act of defiance the king chooses zacharie as his heir, and when zacharie kills him it transferrs the king's curse onto him.

not wanting the sudden responsibility of an entire kingdom on his shoulders, especially with the effects of the curse, zacharie hides his face again and flees the kingdom. he felt guilty for leaving them without a ruler so suddenly, but hoped that now that the evil king was gone, they could rebuild themselves on their own. his sudden disappearance + the description of angel wings from the people who witnessed the fight kind of immortalized him in the eyes of that village as some sort of mythical hero: a guardian angel who disguises himself as a humble merchant and rids the world of evil tyrants to protect the people who treat him kindly etc etc etc. this is where the book comes from. ... when in reality hes just . some guy who wanted to do the right thing once and got cursed for it

FAST FORWARD HOWEVER LONG to the events of OFF, this version of zacharie that hugo created isnt exactly the same guy but he believes he is/remembers being that guy in the story. but because he's been living with the curse for so long he found ways to get it under control: make himself appear more humanoid (with a few exceptions; eyes, neck, skin, etc), wearing full masks to hide his face so nobody gets affected by that aspect of the curse, etc. he just goes back to being a travelling merchant again, but hes way more weird and offputting and unhinged about it . the beloved.

i've been living in my landlord's duplex since the end of winter - it's setup to be an intentional community space but like so many is totally Not That - everyone other than my partner and I left before their leases were up because of how emotionally and psychologically abusive our landlord is. we have nowhere else to go as a result of living in a rural town and me needing to finish school this month/my partner needing to be able to get to work. we'll be moving out in september (thank god) but in the meantime i'm getting through it largely because of therapy and psychiatry and i am way the fuck behind on paying for both of those things!

currently owe my therapist over $400 and my psychiatrist around $600 - the latter hasn't asked me for payment yet because I think my insurance still hasn't processed my claims for working with her, but my therapist rightfully wants me to pay her. she has been extremely gracious with me and my situation, i'm only able to send about $80 per week and my weekly copay is nearly $40, so I'm far from getting caught up. i have part time work, but one of my part time jobs was working for my landlord which i can no longer do for my own safety. i work 3 days a week and go to school the other 4, i'm burnt out and just trying to get caught up until i can finally leave this house

got a bombshell payment of $50 for two weeks of a small dose of ADHD meds which was not at all what i was expecting and took out a chunk of much needed cash from what i have - trying to get ahold of my psychiatrist to get it changed to something cheaper again, but she is 1) not actually the best with treating adhd and 2) not quick to communicate with me, so no word on that front yet

if it makes you more comfortable to donate, i can privately share receipts and evidence of what i owe (and describe my landlord's abuse - super comfortable communicating about this so please do not feel weird about it if it makes you less uncomfortable giving money to a stranger over the internet)

hi!! quick question my laptop is currently at repair so i havent been able to do anything Ts4 wise (obviously lmfao) buuut i wanted to ask a question i had even before today; to anyone who uses preshades which are some rlly good ones would yall recommend to me? i currently use @squea “Aphros A” reshade for in game screenshots, @oakiyo ‘s “CAS Preset V2” Reshade and @simplyanjuta ‘s CAS lighting “CityLight Torchlight” (im p sure its the torchlight version but it could just be the regular one either way its the CityLight one) for CAS screenshots so basically i guess i would prefer Reshades compatible with the 4.0.0 and up version of Reshade but anyone version works, even though squea’s aphros reshade is my all time favorite i want to explore and try out more/different reshades especially in games ones to maybe switch up and post less CAS screenshots hh but im awful at looking for the best reshades for some reason (?) but especially rn that im without my laptop jsjsjsjsksjs heres some IRL art to brighten up the post idk lmfao okok cyall

first of all I'm smoller than chuuya hehe

I consider myself an extrovert who can be very shy at first. if i manage to somehow feel comfortable w someone (as in they are warm and open to me), I become super chatty and bubbly, but I can be very quiet and reserved when I'm among a bunch of people or with someone I haven't really connected. in that case i need to warm up a bit first.

altho I love hanging out with my loved ones, I need "just-me" moments too. I like joking and making people laugh and this goofy and "witty" side of me is best seen when I chat or post insta stories, rather than irl.

I can be quite awkward when I talk with people irl. I'm super affectionate with the people I love and actually I can be quite clingy. I need constant attention and love or I start feeling insecure.

I have lots of interests (too many to keep up), that are somehow linked: animanga, asian dramas, webtoons, fantasy, books, insta poetry, linguistics and language learning, graphic design, fiction, history, sociology and whatever is grabbing my attention at the moment.

I also suffer from maladaptive daydreaming, have short attention span, but lots of focus when I shouldn't have, lots of dreams, anxieties and hopes. I often sign up for too many things at once (and regret it) but stillll there's so much to dooo and no timeeeeee

for all my easygoing attitude, I have high uncertainty avoidance: scared of talking to people I've interacted w before, hesitant of like asking informations to a stranger, worried about uni exams I'm not fully prepared for, deeply anxious about a new part time job etc.

I usually procrastinate a lot (and also a mild perfectionist, what a curse) , am disorganised and am a bit of a scatterbrain, often sleep late but! I'm doing si much better now! After I started physically attending uni, moved out and got a roommate I'm doing much better: I wake up in time, I try to study regularly, Im learning how to cook, I clean after myself uwu

I think this means that when I'm somehow in a situation where I should be responsible (got a roommate, living away from home) I really try to do my best. so proud of myself rn! I'm also in this w my bffs so we helping each other become better

sadly for chuchu I don't drink at all! I would also wait a long time to do the full snu snu, until I feel like this person is here to stay. light snu snu is okay hehe. I'm also a bit lazy and while I like visiting new places and all I get tired of traveling and I don't like "being a tourist" (as in, walking a lot, going from one place to the other, taking lots of pictures, guided tours and all that jazz). I like to do things at my own pace and feel cozy :D

i won't even get into detail about how much chuuya loves that he's the slightest bit taller than you. it activates his protection mode- and he sure loves being in that mode when he's around you.

chuuya isn't quick to figure out your innate need for attention/affection- he just thinks you're clingy for a bit and would indulge you while he can and then he's gone off to work again. it would take you opening up to him and having a genuine conversation for him to actually get it in his head, but after that don't worry, he's at your side as much as possible. when he can't, he's texting or calling you. there's never a day you'll feel once that he doesn't care about you.

he absolutely loves your humor! granted you did say it comes out mostly when you chat or on your insta stories but he definitely has an appreciation of it even beyond the screen. especially if it’s derived from all the varied interests you have? you’ve got chuuya hooked. you've just got a spark of joy in you that's hard to find in other people that draws chuuya to you.

if you need him to catch you at times when your uncertainty avoidance gets too much, don't fret because he won't mind doing it for you. but chuuya's more of a proactive person hismelf, so there are occasions where instead of fully taking the responsibility, he'll be, instead, by your side and making sure you don't feel alone as you face your own anxiety on your own!

chuuya has absolutely no idea at first what to do with your maladaptive daydreaming. but once he figures out the ropes he's there for you all the time. need to be more engaged and grounded in reality? he's there, holding you down. need to go to therapy for it or would rather talk to a doctor? he's bringing you to the clinic himself. he'll learn your triggers (if any) and make sure to keep you out of them when possible. it'll take a bit for him to figure it out, but once he does, he's your best ally.

he watches you work on yourself and get better and handling the daily routine, and is super proud of you for every step you're taking in the right direction. he's there to help you whenever you stumble, but for the most part he just loves being able to sit back and watch you slowly get better at avoiding procrastination, studying, sleeping, etc. etc!

related to that, he's definitely going to be super thankful once you've moved in with him and can help him with that kind of regulation. it's not that he can't do it on his own, just sometimes he also deeply struggles with it, especially with mafia work, and to be able to have someone by his side who can help him is a big plus for him.

he'll be fine with you not drinking, he's always got a bottle of a nonalcoholic drink for you to enjoy while he's getting tipsy. but this is only for when you're at home! if you're outside, say, on a dinner, he'll refrain from drinking because he'd rather not have to be a burden on you when he gets drunk. don't worry, it doesn't dampen the experience one bit, because he loves just being with you to begin with!

your extroverted side matched with a tendency to pull back when you're around others you aren't close with is something chuuya deeply appreciates- some dark part in him enjoys that he can have you all for himself in certain situations. but i think the two of you will still be a great match because chuuya absolutely needs someone to ground him as well, and also to stop his little alcohol problem 😂

this was said by @darkprinceofdarkness​ on the descendants discord but i wanted to bring it up here, rn I'm redesigning almost ALL the descendants d3 outfits, including making some brand new ones for new characters for my rewrite, and in looking at the D3 outfits, i remembered what darkpinceofdarkness had said last month (aka ash so imma just call em ash now so i dont have keep typing their tumblr name)  they had said that the designs seemed to fit better on the actors, and not the characters, as in that the designs seemed they were made for 25-30 year olds (the age that most of the actors were at at the time) instead of 17-20 year olds that the characters were aged at.

before we continue i would like to say Kara Saun is a great designer...but she wasn't the greatest fit to design for a series about teenagers. anyway onto good to be bad!

now good to be bad, is probably my favorite Mal design out of all of D3, it looks like Mal took a paint brush and her spray paint and just went ham on it, which is perfect, because that suits her (original) character! its all over the place, yet it seems planned, its a mess of colors yet it seems as if they were meticulously  picked! Mals original character was someone while they seemed they had no plan, they had millions of them floating through their head, or they seemed to have a plan but they were just mentally going “fuck it what happens happens” and that unfortunately seemed to be drained from her as the movies went on and someone fucked up by trying to make her a perfect character, which made her completely horrible, in the first movie, her not thinking things all the way through (Ben and the love spell and how that would end) was more endearing than completely annoying and frustrating, D1 Mal, when she didn't think things through, ended up floundering over herself but trying to come up with a quick solution (when the quilt trip FG with Jane plan failed, Mal groaned for a moment then immediately went to her spell book for another plan) yet D2 and D3 Mal, if her plan didn't go her way she got upset, and blamed her fault on other people, even if why her plan failed was completely her fault (the barrier closing thing; she tried to push the blame onto just wanting to protect her cushy life, where if she was written correctly, she would have taken blame and acknowledged that she had doomed the rest of the isle kids and actually apologized for lying to Uma and her friends, instead of saying “she had no choice” (yes you did bish you just didn't want to do any actual work) anyway enough of analyzing Mals horribly written character back to the outfits, so ill sum up Mal’s gttb look, its funky, its fun, its colorful, her jacket is not tight fitting and has a fun tail, popped open collar, its just overall a cute outfit. 8/10 wouldn't wear but it looks like something a punk alt young adult would wear.

its splotchy, its denim, its loose yet form fitting, hell i would wear it (minus the shoes)  it feels like something a 15-19 year old feminine presenting person would wear to a party! which guess what! she is! shes going to a party! the only thing i would change is to possibly give her shorts or calf ending cargo pants, and change her open toed heels to wedged sneakers. other wise 8.5/10 would wear.

i...dont like it, its super tight fitting, her butt in every single shot that usually just has Mal in it with her facing towards the camera is reaaaally obvious and its just...iahsiodhasid bad, is bad. her boots are clunky as fuck and hardly practical at all and for what she was planning to do with them makes no sense and girl get the fuck over your height complex.(clunky boots are cute but...girl...come on...) and it seems like its suited for a person in their mid twentys instead of a 19 year old. its hard for me to say exactly why i dont like it (also i will say, if you like tight fitting clothes, fucking go for it, you rock that shit, it just...doesn't look good on Mal and its a fukin kids series, and  the camera loved Mals butt and i was always like “yo camera man, pan up a bit why dont cha”)but i feel like if Mals pants weren't all a shiny tight fabric, i might like them a bit more but its all one thing and all one shade with different tones. like, comon, pockets guys, they are a thing, and put them on her butt so it derives from it when its in the shots.

i hate hate hate the hades color shift, because at least with the green/purple it had two shades and broke up the outfit but now...

its just blue and purple...there's like...nothing breaking up the tones or pieces of the outfit and now its all just tones of blue and purple that you cant tell apart and you have no clue where it begins or it ends and its ugly. 5/10 its better than her “fancy” talk shit but still burn it and keep it away from me. 

and now the dreaded outfit...her engagement party dress.

*shivers* its just...so bad, everything is just so tight and stiff that it just doesn't...feel like a real dress, it looks like it belongs on a doll, i don't even think a 30 year old wine mom would wear this its just so bad. Even the long version of the open skirt (which is impossible to find on google) doesn't flow like it should, its stiff and keeps its form the entire time, and when you want a long flowing engagement party dress made for a princess? that's not a good thing, whatever fabric they used was not a good one and they should never use it again...the texture on the dress is awful too. i think the only thing i like about this abomination is her tiara...that's it, that's all i like, and only because its so much better then that foam garbage that was her dragon dress crown. 0/10 fucking erase it from existence.

everyones entitled to their opinion but the amount of people who have been saying how “confusing” az’s chapter is and how sjm’s a bad writer for writing it that way honestly annoys me? you said you felt vindication when you read it and tbh, same, it confirmed everything i thought since acowar and made perfect sense with what we know of az as a character - that he’s deeply traumatized and incapable of creating and maintaining healthy relationships (as of rn). but beyond that, i dont see how it was unclear in the terms of which ships will be endgame?? before that chapter i was still uncertain and thought it could go either way (tho i was leaning to elucien bc of the already existing bond), and now im pretty certain its not gonna be elr*el in the long term. idk, i just feel like a part of fandom has built their own vision of the characters and future events that isn’t supported by text and now that theyre disappointed it isnt canon, they blame sjm for it? i really dont think it was a confusing chapter at all, i thought her intentions were perfectly clear with the types of tropes she used, i dont think its fair to say it was badly written just bc it didnt support their fanon ideas that was built more on headcanons than actual textual evidence... idk if i sound mean lol but just my 2 cents, obviously it doesnt go for everyone i feel like a certain part of fandom has a certain version of characters in their heads that they consider as canon bc they want to see them that way, but they aren’t really the same as the actual characters we’re presented in their story

Anon, I am going CRAZY over here.

I’ve been trying to figure out why I take on some arguments and others I don’t, and it basically comes down to 1) what is supported in the text, 2) people’s very wild interpretations of the text, and 3) people confusing their interpretation, fanon, what have you, with canon. 

I actually make my students read this article before they respond to a text because it’s super important to understand what, exactly, they (and we) are responding to. It’s nothing to do with literary criticism, but it still has bearings here because people are taking lines of text and imposing these wildly different meanings that have zero support. Like I mentioned in this post, we cannot say why Elain’s face gets tight or she shrinks from Lucien. There is literally no evidence one way or another, so I could that she like....... has a bad problem with farting when he’s around and is embarrassed. And who’s to stop me????

And you’re right, the problem here is that they think they are responding to canon, when actually it’s this wild interpretation of canon that began before acowar even came out, for the sole purpose of furthering hate on Mor. It had nothing to do with actually, genuinely liking it. But it’s grown into this monstrosity we see today and yeah... people are literally making posts where their “evidence” is two people being a room together and noticing that fact = endgame super romantic ship.

And that’s totally different from actually acknowledging the bare minimum of evidence, and saying “fingers crossed I hope it happens because I love it!!” That would be fine. I literally do not care if people do that. I do care when they willfully misinterpret what’s on the page and try to act like 1) they have found facts, and 2) they pretend like that “fact” should have any bearing on what other people ship. 

So, re: Az. 

I literally made this argument four years ago lol and if you read it real quick you can see that that ship came about (in January 2017) not because of all this “evidence” people found in acowar, which didn’t exist yet for us, but before that for other fandom, fanon reasons. 

And since acowar came out, I’ve pretty much avoided talking about Az because I know that somehow, the fact that he’s dark and twisty is.... controversial??? Yeah, I compared him to Tamlin and I still hold to that (I saw a vagueblog about my idea and I still think that comparison is accurate, but anyway). But people just? Don’t want to hear anything like that about Az. Even though that’s literally what we are given.

There is nothing wrong with saying that he’s dark af. In fact, all of the evidence we have from the book is that he is not only dark, but that he is increasingly  losing control. There was the blowup in acowar, and the increased disrespect of Rhys (and Feyre) in acosf, refusal to take orders from someone he is supposedly so loyal to. Even back in acomaf there were multiple signs that Mor was concerned about bruising his ego (literally the first thing that Mor says about Az is that he would want to know something, I’m not going to look it up but the implication was that he would be upset if he didn’t know).

From acosf:

Az had a vicious competitive streak. It wasn’t boastful and arrogant, the way Cassian himself knew he himself was prone to be, or possessive and terrifying like Amren’s. No, it was quiet and cruel and utterly lethal. (pg. 254)

“He’d tortured it out of someone. Of many people.” (pg. 224)

“Some silent conversation passed between him and his mate, and Cassian knew Rhys was asking about the torture - apologizing for making Feyre witness even the ten minutes Azriel had worked. (pg. i lost my place idk)

“Opening movements in a symphony of pain that Azriel could conduct with brutal efficiency. (pg. 375)

So asdkhasldkjasda if only we could STOP saying that Az is actually a dark soft boi and just acknowledge that he’s fucked up and that him being with ANYONE at this point would potentially be harmful to that person, be it Elain or Gwyn or whoever? That chapter did NOTHING but continue a line of character development that had already been in place, and I get the need to romanticize dark boys, but idk, don’t pretend he’s something he’s not.

A/N: okie, first of all. IM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING AN FREAKIN UPDATE. Cuz my pc is kinda busted rn so i hate it so much and i dont like using the mobile version to update :/. You stared mindlessly at your plain, white and boring ceiling. The endless whoosing noises of the air conditioning continued to be the only source of sound as you lay in your bed.

Maybe, a screw went off in your head that staring into thin air now intrigues you so much.

Well, who wouldn't though? With all the events that happened this month, you were sure that anyone would also lose their mind when they finally get to rest.

It was still hard to believe for you. A month has already passed since—you and Jaemin became a thing.

You smiled to yourself. Jaemin was a really great boyfriend even if—you don't what a great boyfriend is really like since, you've never had one.

But nonetheless you still think that Jaemin is a great one—or so you thought.

The first day was rather interesting if you were being honest. The both of you agreed to meet up at an 'fancy' restaurant.

However, when the both of you were actually there—Jaemin didn't know what to do as well as you who was also completely clueless.

Ditching the fancy restaurant plan, the two of you end up in the park—again. It was nice though, you get to talk with him and play with him, overall it was a fun night.

That's when you thought that Jaemin indeed was a great guy and maybe choosing to be with him was the right choice.

But—things went downhill after that.

The next couple of dates were rushed and was unplanned. It happened almost everywhere. The park, the campus. Most times, it happened at Mcdonald's.

You would wait there for at least an hour before Jaemin arrives, the both of you will just catch up and talk but after that—Jaemin would immediately leave.

It was that time where things were crazy busy cause midterms were coming and your schedule and his were not-so alike to each other.

Due to that, you can't really complain. You expected him to give more time to you at the dorms since it was the only place that the two of you could hang out without interruptions.

But instead—he kept on locking himself inside of his room.

Haechan actually cleaned his room the first two weeks into the month so Jaemin got to move in to his room in a swift.

You don't want to overthink about it, but you can't help it.

But it was somehow—you were being treated differently.

If you were to compare yourself to his ex, which was Oh Miri. He used to be out frequently with the reason of he was going to see Miri.

You wanted to believe that it was because of the midterms that was causing you this overthinking but at the same time—it also makes sense.

There was this part of you that was screaming that this was wrong, and another is telling you that Jaemin was really at fault.

It's giving you a headache.

You just want to get over with this and talk to him, the more you kept your mouth shut, the more you get these thoughts.

You just—want it to stop.

A knock on the door caused you to stop floating in your thoughts. And speaking of the devil, there was Jaemin, peeking his head through the small gap of the door.

You raised your eyebrow at him giving him the look of 'what?'.

He completely understood and went inside of your room. You were confused as to why the heck was he dressed?

"Want to go out?" He asks, placing his palms in his pockets.

You furrowed your eyebrows, surprised that he wasn't 'busy' nor locking himself. "Aren't you busy?" You answered with a question.

He shrugs. "Nah, I have two hours, come on." He said pulling your arm as usual.

You panicked, would this guy really want to go out when he was fully dressed and you aren't? You were wearing a tank top and shorts for pete's sake.

You pulled you arm from him and he looked at you surprised. "You prick! You really want me to go out in this?" You widened your eyes at him, pointing at your clothing which was embarrassing.

He straightened his posture and looks at you from top to bottom, as if he was evaluating you.

"It looks fine to me." He says in confusion.

You face-palmed yourself. Was this guy really dumb or what. Whatever it is you aren't going out in this state.

"Uh-uh, I ain't going out like this," You pushed him out of the room, "now sir please kindly leave the room, I need to change." You sarcastically said in a sing-song voice.

"I could just stay there you know." Jaemin smirks at you, raising his eyebrows in an up and down motion.

You glared at him.

"Okay okay! But make it quick!"

"Whatever!" You slammed the door in his face, quickly making your way to your closet.

Exactly as what you thought, everything still hasn't changed except for the fact that you two are together now.

You pulled out an t-shirt in frustration. Leaning against the closet you thought of ways to tell Jaemin.

Cause you weren't staying silent anymore, you were done.

This overthinking has to end.

"What do you mean?" Jaemin asks you, his eyebrows shot towards the ceiling.

You can't believe him.

"What do you mean you don't know Jaemin? Are you that oblivious to not see how frustrated am I?," you rage at him, jaws clenching, " Or or—you're pretending to not know anything?" You can't help but raise your voice at him.

Not caring about the people who had their eyes on the both of you.

Jaemin slightly bows his head as a way to apologize to the other customers who were also inside the establishment, hoping that they would start to mind their own business before he talks to you.

He looks at you in frustration, he was clearly holding himself from erupting like an volcano. It wouldn't be good if he as well would throw his anger.

"Y/n look, we can talk about this just please—" he looks around the people close to your table, "not here."

You massaged your temples, calming yourself cause you might not be able to the next time around.

You sighed. "I'm so fed up with this Jaemin. I don't want to think about it this way hence the reason why I stayed silent but—I can't take it anymore." You respond to him.

Jaemin remained silent, as if he was asking you the other for more details.

"I-i just don't know what to do about this anymore, I know you're busy and all that but at least—at least make time for me, please make me feel that i'm now your girlfriend Jaemin." You closed as you feel tears form around them.

Jaemin's face softened, he was guilty that he didn't know you were feeling this way. "Y-yn...you are my girlfriend." He mumbles.

"Well yeah?" You raised your eyebrow at him, "I don't feel like it. I still feel like im the y/n who was your bestfriend, not y/n as your girlfriend." You confessed to him.

He was shock at the very least. Jaemin was completely clueless, he might've gotten himself a bit too engrossed with the fact that the exams were coming and—set aside your relationship.

"Y/n I swear, that's not what it is—"

"But it is Jaemin," you cut him off, "I want to be treated as your girlfriend. I want to go to amazing dates, be gifted with flowers you know?"

"I-i thought you didn't like those?" Jaemin questions.

Must be because you were uncomfortable during that first date. But you doesn't mean that you didn't like it!

"I do Jaemin! I just to experience that I'm now your girlfriend, because from the looks and feels of it—it isn't." you repeat.

The both of you stayed silent for a while, not having any more to say.

You decided, it must be good for the both of you to breath out some air before talking about this once again.

You stood up, ready to leave that damned Mcdonald's when Jaemin grabbed your wrist.

"Where are you going?"

You showed him the time. "2 hours is up, you're busy right?" You grinned sarcastically at him, your smile immediately fading as you packed your things.

Jaemin was flustered, he didn't know what else to say but he was sure that the both of you need to talk this out.

"We need to talk about this Y/n." His grip on your wrist, insisting that you should stay.

You pulled your wrist from him, grabbing your purse.

"We'll talk when you finally realize that I'm now your girlfriend, not your best friend who you can treat like shit." You remarked, immediately leaving the place with fast steps.

Leaving Jaemin dumbfounded in his seat.
