Let impermanence guide you

The daily rushing of things that we get caught in is time-based. We are so desensitized that when that life goes on and on, we forget that we may one day die. We forget how death can come suddenly one day and take someone we love. We forget that whatever we have or want now could be worth nuts tomorrow. Being unaware keeps us from living our deep intentions _ what matters to us - We postpone what is important to us. "I can still do this tomorrow. I can still tell him/her how much I care tomorrow. I can be with my family when I retire." We don't register that this could be our last season, this may be our last walk, our last hug with a certain person. We act as if we will see them again and again. We don't register that all that we love passes.

Imagine a love one who is spending their last 5 minutes with you, how would you spend your time with them? What would your intention be? Would you want to be fully present with them?

Imagine someone you love already gone, if you can have them back for a minute, how would you be with them?

We don't have forever. We die. This life will end some day no matter what.

There is no 'waiting for the right moment to blossom.' We are all broken in some way. It is a imperfect life and the imperfect world is hurting. It is the artist task to find out how much music you can still make with what you have left. It starts with remembering your heart based true intentions.

What we practise grows strongly.

i have what is probably a really obscure question - back in the day when 8tracks was a thing, there was a sweat (acid soup) mix that i THINK you made + posted, with a cover of LOVEFOOL. i'm trying to find that particular cover of LOVEFOOL. do you know which it was?

okay so this has driven me CRAZY bc i REMEMBER what ur talking about, but i cannot find it at all. i tried to do some basic sleuthing, like poking around searching at my twitter and stuff, but all i find from then is 1. scattered evidence of a few ppl being like "ira what the hell is this demonic cover of lovefool" and 2. me gloating about how i only found said demonic cover of lovefool through like a 45 minute google rabbit hole. not helpful, past ira. also, i must have downloaded it at some point to upload it to 8tracks, but that would have been like, two laptops ago and there's no way i can dig up the file.

anyway i got a bit closer by digging a little more -- i have this kind of hazy memory of literally just typing in something like "cool lovefool cover" and trawling list articles, and when i tried to recreate it i found this meanspirited little vice piece with a description that i am like, 99.9999% SURE IS REFERENCING THE VERSION WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!! ...but unfortunately bc it's from 2012, all the embeds are gone/broken (and as far as i can tell there's no remnants of links even when i inspect the page, tho i'm not very tech literate when it comes to stuff like this so maybe i'm missing something):

and as we can see here, even back then, if this was the cover we're thinking of, it wasn't attributed or traceable. but we do glean a LITTLE info from this: "under six minutes" means it was five and change, and it must have been uploaded to soundcloud at least 11 years ago.

i tried trawling thru soundcloud w those parameters in mind but couldn't find it... unfortunately i think there's a high chance the original account that uploaded it doesn't exist anymore. (i may have missed something, like maybe a different account has re-uploaded it and i scrolled past it bc i was looking at upload date, but expanding the search to any year is something i don't have the bandwidth for rn!!)

this might be a workable amount of info to at least go to reddit or something with? i feel like there must be at least one subreddit that's specifically dedicated to "help me find this obscure soundcloud remix that got deleted." but for now i'm afraid i must admit defeat, which sucks bc now that you've reminded me of it *i* really wanna listen to the decade-old demonic cover of lovefool too :')

There's more than one reason why he's known as the 'Demon Cop'

Look this is 100% self gratifying crack. Based on my own 100% genuine experience:

I have a large tattoo, across my chest, shoulder blades and back. So, I was fairly resigned to the fact I'd probably never get to go to a public bath whilst visiting my friend in Japan, fair enough. One day however, she says she'd found a bath that allowed tattoos, and not just tiny ones that could be hidden by a plaster. So I go, very excited, and end up round the back of an area with a lot of signs advertising SoapIands and LoveHoteIs. I explain in the shakiest Japanese to the lady manning the counter that I have a large tattoo and she waves me in nonplussed. Pretty much every man there is covered in tattoos. Whilst I was drying my hair, one of them tries to ask me something but my Japanese was no where near good enough to answer. When I get back my friend seemed a little worried and then confesses that she'd found out, after I'd left, that she'd sent me to a yakuza bathhouse.

I wish I was able to understand what that man was trying to say to me.
