Ball and chain
Whumpee meekly walked along, resigned, hands cuffed in front of them, two henchmen clinging to both arms as they were marched into the large room. Like they were both walking them down the aisle.
Except the man who they were tied to was all but bliss. And did not accept any form of seperation.
And he now stood waiting for them in the middle of the room. He turned and his eyes immediately fixed on Whumpee. Myeah... they were in trouble.
The man barely contained himself, his jaw clenched, nostrils flaring, and his rage plain to see in his eyes, swirling about like thunderclouds.
You'd think that, with all the trouble they caused, he would be glad to see the back of them... instead of sending out a search team and dragging them back to their cell.
They stopped right in front of him and Whumpee swore they saw something twitch in his jaw. His eyes bored into theirs, but they didn't look away.
"Leave," Whumper growled.
The two men gladly let go of their arms and turned to leave the room.
Whumpee however followed suit: they spun on their heels and made to follow them out. But before they could even take one step, a hand clamped around their shoulder.
"Not you, you goddamned little gargoyle, what makes you think I was talking to you."
Willfully ignoring the fingers digging into their shoulder, Whumpee simply watched, a little rueful, as the henchmen succesfully made their way out, leaving them alone here. Then they turned around again, shrugging the hand off with the softest huff.
"Well, you were looking at me, so..."

ATLA Au where Sokka befriends a rogue Knowledge Seeker ✨
(More info under the cut)
Side A: Sokka Adopts A Stray Fox Spirit
- After a toddler Sokka gets lost in a blizzard, a Knowledge Seeker that is taking back a scroll wanders upon him. Knowledge Seekers in this world not only retrieve information for the library, but also protect it - sometimes with their life.
- This particular Knowledge Seeker feels the need to protect Sokka (who, unbeknownst to them both, is going to be a genius who tilts the world of knowledge on its head), and disregards its former duty in order to make sure the tiny human makes it.
- If Sokka dies, then so much knowledge will be lost to the world. The spirit can’t have that. It curls up around Sokka, giving the child warmth and saving his life.
- It decides to stick around when it realizes this particular human is rather curious and thus drawn to danger, aiding this one in its destiny. And while spirits don’t need to eat (And can eat just about anything), it’s also a bonus that human treats are really good!!
Side B: Sokka Becomes A Knowledge Seeker (or New Spirit Entirely...?)
- Everything is the same as above, except for the fact that young Sokka succumbs to the coldness despite the spirits best efforts...
- The Knowledge Seeker, keen in fulfilling its duties, essentially thinks, “Well shit. Can't let this potential go to waste. I'll sacrifice myself in order to heal the world, aid destiny, and ultimately expand knowledge for the world. This human's worth it."
- Doggo combines its essence with Sokka’s soul, and gives the child a second chance at life.
- Sokka in return gets canine teeth, a bigger propensity for meat, can go Borf, probably has auburn hair (still not set on the design), and has most of the abilities of the Knowledge Seeker.
- No ears or tail on a literal level (Maybe...), but these abilities include: enhanced hearing, the ability to innately and uncannily Know Things by accessing his past spirit life memories and having a connection to the library, a 6th sense for danger and spiritual activity, climbing up walls like Spider-Man, and eventually being able to walk back and forth between worlds! As well as typical dog traits, like growling, claws, teef, and a propensity for meat!

(Post-CV3, Pre-CoD) Hector, were you and Rosaly ever officially married? Did you have any kind of ceremony to commemorate the event?
We had a long discussion about that. She was adamant that we got married, because it was important to her that we are husband and wife in the eyes of God. I was hesistant, as I am a heretic and I do not need the approval of a priest to know that my love for her is real.
In the end, I relented for her sake. Bowing my head to a God that doesn't see me is the least I could do for her. We had a small, conservative ceremony, with only her aunt figure and her children as witnesses. Rosaly's happiness was all I needed to be content with my decision.

Simon who works for UPS. He delivers packages as per usual and ends up at your house. He picks up the massive box with ease from the back of his work truck, barely a grunt in effort, and places it down at your front door.
He knocks because goddamn fucking company demanding signatures for packages people buy is just absurd.
Then you open the door.
Maybe it's just him, who's a burly man with shoulders that're too broad and height that in some entrances he has to duck lest he smacks his forehead on the door frame but you...
are small.
Soft looking thing, too. Hands look smooth and delicate; probably never lifted anything heavier than a grocery bag. Fragile, like the contents inside the box you've ordered.
"Sir?" your voice is soft, gentle; just like what you look like.
"Need your signature for this, apologies for the bother, ma'am."
The signature machine is already small on its own, but in his bear-like hand, it's dwarfed. It lets him hold it in its entirety, so that your fingers are forced to brush against his to sign.
Skin is like the finest silk, and so very warm against his leathery flesh.
Polar opposites.
He thickly swallows the pooling saliva in his mouth.
"It wouldn't be too much trouble to, uhm, help me bring that in, just right here by the couch."
A shame the living room is right by the entrance.
"I can do tha'."
He bends his strong legs, curling his fingers under the bottom of the box and lifts on an inhale.
Simon doesn't miss the way your pretty eyes widen a fraction at his strength, either.
As you take numerous strides, it takes only three of his to reach the couch and stand before it.
Bitty.
"Right here is perfect, thank you."
The box thuds on your white tile floor when he places it down, and quickly turns to leave, but bumps into you instead. You yelp and stumble backwards as if he'd pushed you back with two hands.
Puny.
"Apologies," he murmurs while steadying you by gripping your forearm firmly.
Apologies, because sorry implies regret, which he doesn't have. Certainly not when he's got a tiny feel of your soft body against his sturdy one.
He reluctantly lets go, and heads for the door, not wanting to make you any more uncomfortable. (or scare you off so soon- he's only just laid eyes on you)
"Thank you for the help! Have a good day!"
Simon gives you a small wave and hops into the drivers seat.
His day is already that much better, especially since his sharp eyes noticed a lack of jewelry on your left hand.
He's already memorized your address, too.
Simon tells himself to wait at least a week before 'mistakenly' dropping off a package at your house.
