What if Bruce knows how to cook and actually enjoyed doing it with Alfred a lot growing up and also picked up a lot of receipes from his trip.
BUT Jason also picked up this lil hobby when Bruce took him in and as a bonding activity Bruce used to teach him cooking(Alfred joins occasionally to flex the unmatchable knowledge of a field expert and also bc he should be included in the bonding time excuse you)
HOWEVER after Jason's death Bruce simply can't look at cooking utensils the same way for a while and even had trouble eating the 1 week of grieving. Holding a spoon would remind him of how he used to wrap his hand around Jason's to show how to mix the ingredients right and that was just too painful.
That is until Tim comes along and turns out to be the messiest cook Bruce has ever seen.Like even Jason had better background knowledge than him.And so on a lazy Sunday morning Bruce has to teach lil Tom how to make pancakes bc Alfred is on a vacation and Tim almost brunt down the kitchen trying to make himself breakfast.(It was actually for Bruce but Tim feels embarrassed to say that).It feels comfortingly nostalgic for Bruce and he gets to eat breakfast in peace while Tim tries to fill the silence with awkward at the top-of-his-head topics (Bruce loves it)
And now that's just simply a routine.

tonight I'm gonna perform a radical move (taking both melatonin AND the plant based capsule shit I bought to help me sleep)

going to sleep is the good kind of fun. cuz it isn't particularly fun at all
#melonposting#i am looking forward to getting into bed soon i guess. but i wouldn't call it 'fun'#but by my own terminology i suppose i must consider it as such mustn't i?#because going to sleep isn't work... it must be play...#is going to sleep a game or a toy? now that's something to ponder#i'd say game because there's an objective (falling asleep) which can make the whole thing feel annoying and pointless if it's unfulfilled#but then that's supposing i mean 'going to sleep' and not 'sleeping'#sleeping is also play. is it a game or a toy? i guess a toy. cuz you have dreams. but i'm not sure#i suppose it has an objective too (getting a good night's rest) but that isn't something you actively work towards in the moment#like when you're asleep i don't think there's anything you can do to stay asleep or improve the quality of your sleep?#i'm thinking about this too much. i need to brush my teeth and go to bed

Mental health is reaching new lows rn ngl
#well it’s nothing that my intense exercise regimen can’t fix 😤#but really like I’m either going thru yet another derealization episode or am a minor inconvenience away from bursting into tears and#jumping off a cliff. and like I usually don’t even cry I cry once per season during a bad year#but literally everything and everyone pisses me off. I resent the fact that doing adult tasks takes me more effort now than it did when I#was 15. and whenever I brought up my concerns I’d get dismissed and called ‘mature#‘mature for my age’#nothing feels real and everything pisses me off#even my roommate’s mere existence pissed me off#needless to say I don’t feel very stable right now. well luckily I’m going on leave so I can finally book a therapy appointment#everything is harder as an adult. getting up in the morning is harder#talking to people without wanting to rip my eyes out from the mix of sheer boredom and the cumulative exhaustion of 20+ years of masking#is soooo much harder. I can’t fake office small talk. I just can’t. it doesn’t come out as genuine because it isn’t.#choosing what to wear is harder because I’m at the age where you’re supposed to be put together and know what you want and who you are#while I stil don’t and I’m not even close#choosing what to eat and planning it so that you buy the right things in bulk yet to spend too much to the point where you end up wasting#food. is hard.#I feel like life is like that old college meme of ‘choose one: academics social life or sleep’#*it’s actually choose two#except it’s choose one and it’s careeer success a social life hobbies a good budget#and I can only choose one. but I’m expected to do it all#and I can’t help but think that I’ll always be behind playing catch up#and like my life isn’t hard. I just genuinely hate life#and I really don’t like people. I pretend to like people but in reality I really don’t#my patience for my fellow humans is extremely thin. loved ones are on thin ice too#I should’ve done like a wilderness survival thing when I was younger because at least I’d have the option to check out of society#but I hate bugs#honestly though I don’t think my quality of life would significantly decrease if I had my basic needs met and never met a human face to face#ever again. actually my mental health would probably improve because I wouldn’t have the pressure of passing as normal and of meeting#the standards of black excellence. and in so out of touch with my peers that the chances of me having a close relationship with anyone my#age post college are extremely slim. and it wasn’t like that 2 years ago. now at times I despise socializing it confusing and draining and

#eta vaina e seria#“i need to [___] with them one more time” trope always gets me i'm so weak#the realizationTM he is willing of face the hardships of the dungeon for laios' sake okaaaaaaay kabru#laios looks so handsome in kabru's memory smh#and mithrun grew fond of his gen z comrade he will follow him on the gay autistic quest this is amazing to read#unfortunately i already knew mithrun's backstory however that fact didn't reduce my enjoyment of this chapter either his character#he's amazingly written and his dynamic w kabru and the canaries are great.#these three (kabru mithrun laios) are becoming my faves each chapter#and this is my fav chapter so far#kabru adopting the role of his caretaker mother with mithrun making his complicated relationship w her going full-circle#kabru being so careless with himself ignorant of basic chores learning how to improve his quality of life through mithrun#kabru exploring and forced to learn about the dungeon monster to get close to laios and accepting he actually cares about him#also mithrun seemingly improving his health by sleeping without help and his hair looking prettier? he def needed this adventure#they def needed to meet each other ugh so good#dungeon meshi#reading

Listen, if I influence anyone to try self-experimentation, such as trying out regular sleep, or trying a multivitamin etc... and documenting it's impacts, I will consider that a win. Please don't hold back on account of seeing me get such mixed results, my body is very -very- very incredibly weird. Like multiple genetic mutations weird.
Other things I found useful for a time or might try again:
-Documenting what you eat at each meal to track potential triggers for symptoms
-Documenting your general mood and sleep quality daily to look for patterns
-Actually keeping a financial record even if you don't think it will change anything
-Tracking things like your blood pressure and heart rate
Like worst case scenario, you were right all along and now you have the recorded data to back it up.
#Now that I have the breathing space away from other people I am apparently impulsively trying one thing at a time to improve my health#and quality of life#only I am me#so I am going about it weirdly methodically and one thing at a time to control for variables as if that's my most basic instinct#first it was sleep#then we delved into budgeting and financial planning#then I fixed my sex-life#now It's multivitamins#At some point I will get to the actual downsizing part of organizing#soon#Getting on top of medical shit was in there too but it's an ongoing lengthy process
