hey, what are people’s thoughts on others who say they are “self-identified empath and super-feeler”? What about if they are a social worker/therapist? I am looking for a therapist and one I reached out to for a consult wasn’t taking on new clients but referred one of their colleagues in the same office. Honestly, the phrase “ self-identified empath and super-feeler “ just sets off red flags and makes my skin crawl.though maybe that is from being on tumblr and youtube too long

I want to have a home, it can be small too, and I want the kitchen and the dining room and my study to be my absolute favourite parts of the house (they already are!) and I of course want to have a humble library, I also want plants creeping up and down the walls, I want tiled patterns of yellow and blue on the floor, I'm going to have a incense sticks from India (we call them agarbatti, oud and bukhoor) and have a wall dedicated to masala for amazing scents and tea, I'm going to have two work desks - one to write on and the other for purposeful creative clutter, I'm going to have so many big windows and stained glass in my home that light and colour are always thrown around the walls lazily, I want to have two cats and one dog, I'm going to get a phonograph and vinyl records of all old hindi filmy favourites from the '60s to the '90s, I'm going to have a ranch with intricate woodwork and a swing, and I'm going to wear sarees kurta/shawls all the time

I cannot imagine where this location would be, but ideally it would be in Asia - I have still so much to see of northern India's mountainous locations and I like the cold there and the warmth is everything too. I think toward north east India, or the places that Ruskin Bond writes about is where I want to live

living with classics majors is so great because once I innocuously said "i love soup" expecting nothing in return and without missing a beat my roommate nodded sagely and said "like Dionysus in the Frogs"

Perhaps the funniest thing that could have happened lately was that this anticapitalist cafe and community space near my place was shutting down near the end of May - but because so many Texas and Florida conservatives celebrated it online, the place got a huge donation to keep operating

It's a great place. It functions mostly like a regular cafe but it has this free/pay what you want drip coffee for anyone who wants it, free bathroom use, and it stocks indie merch and books on antifascist, queer, leftist, socialist, indigenous topics. I've met a lot of awesome people there.

Its very existence enrages conservatives, and anarchocapitalists who tried to claim it only to be shown the middle finger by its anticapitalist owner, who is an all around nice dude (and a fellow Elden Ring fan)
