^ can’t see anything unless it’s right in front of his face (I think that’s near sighted but idk)

Used to have an obsession with dinosaurs as a kid and retained all the information as he got older

The dinosaur figurines are from when he was a kid

The type of guy to hold on to things for memories (he has several memory boxes tucked away in his closet)

We know he’s really smart but he doesn’t read all that often because it wears his eyes out

He sticks to magazines and manga because it’s easier

Loves cardigans and sweaters as much as hoodies but he doesn’t really wear them outside his house

Actually has a really big family (like a lot of cousins and aunts and uncles)

His dad died a couple years after he was born

It doesn’t bother him all that much because he doesn’t really remember him, but it’s upsetting when he spends father’s day at the cemetery with his mom and brother

He gets random waves of sadness when he remembers that his mom lost her husband and raised two sons (basically) alone

He has so much appreciation for his mom, he’s a different person when he’s with her

He’s far from fluent, but Tsuki’s quite good at speaking English

Could hold a decent conversation if needed

He listens to quite a bit of foreign music because he thinks it makes English easier

Tsuki doesn’t wear cologne but he smells good anyway (good hygiene is a must)

He just smells clean idk

Tsuki can’t really lie down on his couch comfortably because it’s just barely his size

Has trouble finding t-shirts that don’t swallow him whole because he’s so skinny

He doesn’t drink soda but loves juices and teas

No nickname pisses him off more than “four eyes”

He spent a long time disliking the way he looked with glasses

He actually doesn’t hate Yachi, he’s very respectful towards her

Doesn’t have too much of a ‘type’ but Tsuki prefers smart girls because he likes being able to have (mature) debates with people

And he’d prefer someone who is completely dependent on him

He’s not really picky with anything else, though. His mom taught him to understand that there’s different types of beauty

And he gets cold super easily so he cranks up his heater in the winter

AND ANOTHER THING! musician!reader and schlatt who are just friends…

you and ted have become really good friends since you met on twitch, and in turn, you and schlatt have become really good friends. you don’t see each other that frequently, with you still on the grind to make a name for yourself and schlatt just generally being busy, but you guys do make time for quick discord or facetime calls when you can, sometimes hopping into a game with him. when he comes to LA, you all convene at ted’s apartment or out on the town. it’s nice to have ted as a buffer, because you don’t really know how to be alone with schlatt in person.

there’s a part of you that maybe kinda sorta likes him, like a little bit, but you know it probably wouldn’t work. he lives so far away, and long distance sucks, especially when you’re still trying to gain some traction with your music. you need to make that a priority.

so you write about it. you write about your feelings for schlatt, about being scared things wouldn’t work out, about the work-life balance. you have enough songs for an EP at this point, and you start putting in the work to release it.

ted, of course, gets the first sneak peek. you send the audio files over to him and wait, despite how badly you want to know what he thinks.

he calls about half an hour later, about the length of your EP, and when you pick up, he immediately goes, “did you write these about schlatt?”

you didn’t think it was that obvious, but as ted rambles off a list of lyrics that he’d analyzed to be about schlatt, you realize they are, in fact, super obvious.

“well, shit.” you breathe out, “do you think he’ll figure it out?”

“i fucking hope so,” ted laughs, “maybe he’ll finally make a move.”

both of you go silent, and once ted realizes what he’s said, he says, “do not tell him i said anything.”

“he’s into me?”

“fuckin’… duh, (y/n). aren’t you guys in contact, like, 24/7? you’ve never noticed?”

“not really.” you huff. ted laughs incredulously on the other end of the line.

“love you to death but for someone so astute, you’re really fuckin’ dense sometimes.”

“okay, i’m giving your ticket to my show tomorrow to someone else.”

“a reeeal shame since i was going to bring schlatt to the that one.”

you didn’t even know schlatt was coming to town. “schlatt will be there?”

“fuck,” ted mumbles, and you can practically hear him face palm. “don’t tell him i told you.”

“…fine. you can have it. but watch your fuckin’ tone.”

ted laughs again, before going into detail about the rest of your EP and what he liked the most. when the conversation ends and you hang up, you huff a sigh.

schlatt’s coming to your next show, where you were planning on playing the songs from your EP.

fuck it, you think, he’s going to hear the songs about him anyway.

in a real act of bravery, you send the audio files over to schlatt, with a message that says, lemme know what u think :)

it’s a couple hours before you hear back from schlatt, and it’s agonizing. what if he figured out you wrote about him and doesn’t feel the same? what if he rejected you? what if he didn’t even notice they were about him?

your phone finally pings, and you’re terrified to look at it. after you take a few minutes to chill the fuck out, you read what he has to say.

But I *am* seeing fellow western leftists, particularly non-Jews, defend Hamas and the 07Oct attacks in their desire to stand with Palestine. You have to stop doing that. Hamas are not the good guys, you can read their damn charter documents online. You can read analyses of them by experts - Hamas is a religious extremist group intent on imposing jihadist control over the entire region and eliminating all Jews. It's not something they've been secretive about. They routinely kidnap, torture, and kill PALESTINIAN peace activists who they learn have met with Israeli peace activists or in any way worked towards a 2 state solution. They use global aid donated to Gaza for themselves while letting their citizens suffer. Their most prominent leaders don't even live within Gaza, aren't even at severe risk. These are all things you can verify easily and readily just by doing some basic research anywhere that isn't Twitter, tumblr, or Al Jazerra.

So if you want to justify killing civilians? If you want to support a terrorist organization? If you are going to unilaterally condemn all Israelis for the crime of being citizens of a country whose government you disagree with? Please see yourself out. I was going to ask this forever ago and I JUST remembered this, but I listen to some Motionless In White among others. They have a song that was released in 2022 by the name "Cause Of Death". I enjoy Truffula Flu quite a bit and in my head I've always associated it with Tflu Entre/Bitter's execution, kind of a "Sleep" situation all over again. sooo it’s been a couple of days since I went to Miku Expo and like… I think I’m still reeling from the fact that I actually went since I’ve been listening to vocal synth music since my childhood and I never expected that I’d actually be able to go to one of these concerts?

some thoughts and highlights under the cut!

the show I went to was sold out (in D.C.) and I stood in line + waited for like, 6 or 7 hours? but I had so much fun that it was worth it!

I helped some people put film inside their penlights, and it was nice chatting with them while we were waiting!

some groups of elderly people who were hanging out in the area were confused about what was going on and after asking some concert-goers to explain they started laughing LMAO (some puzzled passerby’s asked me too and I just said “oh it’s a J-pop concert!” because I didn’t want to go into what Vocaloid was in full detail haha)

there were so many cute cosplays there; I saw a lot of people in Miku’s Vampire outfit and was surprised to also see an Oliver cosplayer, there were also some dressed as Project Sekai characters too!

before the show, every time someone in the audience held up a Miku plush, everyone around them would cheer and hold up their penlights

Kaito fans were being Kaito fans when he did his solo (ILY Kaito fans you’re so iconic) and there was also a notable amount of hype when Luka’s solo finally happened since it took until halfway through the show to get to her

I know the setlist was quite controversial when it was released online but I honestly liked hearing it in person, I feel like the band really elevated the experience (kudos to them!), I really liked how they played for Literacy and Hyper Reality Show in particular

and maybe a hot take but the screen wasn’t… that bad to me? but that was also because I was in the very front and the venue put lights around the stage as well, so I may be biased
