GENSHIN X FILES AU. WAIT LISTEN HEAR ME OUT
ok so in this au there exists a branch of the x files fbi made up specifically of children. this is useful because though one can certainly get a ways going up to people and saying hey. we're the fbi. let us in. there is a different kind of infiltration for which literal children work most effectively. if an fbi agent comes to your evil church and talks about investigating everyone is going to be on high alert. but if you have a highly trained small child sneak out of sunday school they'll have probably at least ten minutes before anyone goes looking for them. and even then when theyre found in the records department they say oh im a child. i got lost. whoops.
naturally its a very small department. very niche. very need to know. especially because the cases entrusted to these Literal Children tend to be very weird in nature.
so the main characters of this au are Nahida and Scaramouche NOT IN A SHIP WAY. I NEED THIS TO BE ABUNDANTLY CLEAR. i may be an msr lover but this is an AU with DIFFERENT CHARACTERS you have to UNDERSTAND.
Nahida is the department's agent with the highest efficiency. She is maybe 8 years old and has been a part of the department for as long as she can remember. As long as she can remember is actually only since she was like, five, though. anything earlier than that is a complete blank. this is because, and she does not know this, she is the product of a human cloning experiment done using the combined dna of both the fbi's now deceased actual best adult agent, Rukkadevata, and AN ALIEN. This was done with the INTENT of creating a second functioning adult agent but there were complications and Nahida had to be taken out early, so naturally Nahida is considered a failure for reasons she does not know and thus cannot explain. She is incredibly focused and serious as an agent because she is trying to get people to like her. ITS NOT WORKING.
The cloning project's name is PROJECT BUER. There are still attempts being made at it, but Nahida was their best shot so everyone involved is still kind of pissed at Nahida.
Scaramouche was taken out of a military experiment to see how far they could take mechanical enhancements to the human body. He is 14, and was chosen as a child (10) specifically to see how his regular human growth would impede the enhancements. He and the Raiden Shogun are Makoto's children, and though he was volunteered by Ei following Makoto's death, Raiden was allowed to stay because she was older and less of a kind of. handful. He only cares about completing his missions well because he's been threatened with being sent back to the project if he doesn't. He actually knows about Project Buer on account of some snooping around he did when he was first introduced to the department of literal children, but again, he was threatened with being sent back to the project if he told anyone, especially Nahida.
The project he was part of was run by DOTTORE. Collei and Niwa were also a part of it, and the three of them met while inside, but Collei and Niwa managed to escape. Katsuragi was part of this escape attempt, but Dottore actually managed to capture him. He was terminated, and Dottore told Scaramouche that Katsuragi had said he was involved in the plan, and that he would be punished accordingly. This was. a lie. Dottore just knew the two of them were friends and didn't want Scara to get any IDEAS about escaping as well, and also wanted to take out the fact that two of his other subjects had escaped on someone. The boy who was Scara's friend had basically the same thing happen as in canon, except instead of being in some village in Inazuma, he was part of this project. Afterwards, Scara patently refused to cooperate in any sort of test. They could have kept going, but it would have been more difficult, so he was pulled.
Basically, Scaramouche (the department's "problem agent") and Nahida (not a problem, but still largely low within the pecking order for reasons out of her control) start getting sent on sham missions as an excuse to get both of them out of the department. These are the X Files. Unfortunately for the department's head (Azar, probably), this DOES NOT WORK. Nahida and Scaramouche KEEP SOLVING THE CASES.
Scaramouche's original plan is to keep doing the bare minimum, but he realizes at some point that even then they might deem them to not be doing well enough, and while yeah, he definitely doesn't want to go back to the project, he also realizes that he doesn't know what will happen to Nahida if she gets kicked out of the department? and he doesn't want to admit it but he definitely doesn't want to be responsible for the death of this eight year old girl who puts on her most serious faces but is secretly. deep inside. very silly. SO THEYRE FUCKING KICKING ASS.
Eventually they start getting really hard cases. Ones which, you know, turn out to be really bad for them. Nahida gets trapped inside a computer and lives out a false life that is. unbeknownst to her. Rukkadevta's life. She's reaching out from beyond the grave. And Nahida just kind of has to. Deal with that. They get assigned to a case where they inadvertently run into Raiden, because she's dating a police chief (Sara) in the small town they're in. But they can also tell that they keep brushing against some truth, some hidden scheme, and so they keep going, they keep giving it their absolute all.
But before we get to that and because if you've gotten to this point in the post you're really in it now, let us go over some of the other characters involved in this au.
Alhaitham takes Azar's place after he is dismissed for not being able to get rid of Nahida and Scara. He takes a kind of interesting role, where he does not support the x files, believing the reports Nahida and Scara give to be ridiculous fabrications even when they get results, but also being forced to acknowledge that well. they GET RESULTS, and also that it's very strange that the higher ups are trying to get rid of Nahida and Scaramouche. He's aware of Scara's background, but not Nahida's, and his primary goal is The Truth, so he keeps them together and keeps sending them on x file cases.
Kaveh is Alhaitham's former partner (in an fbi way) who also functions as the department's stand-in Parent Figure, so when they need to pull a kid out of a situation fast they send Kaveh in to go "oh my poor child has been on the run im so glad that theyve been found anyway goodbye" he's there because he and Alhaitham keep getting put in the SAME DEPARTMENTS. they both HATE IT. Kaveh is conflicted about his role but ultimately he's actually in a ton of debt and needs this job, so he stays on until later when he and Alhaitham join up with Tighnari.
ON TIGHNARI. you may have noticed earlier when I mentioned that Collei escaped from Dottore. Well. She is technically currently on the run from the government. But she is in fact. Right underneath their noses, because Tighnari (also an fbi agent) took her in and keeps redirecting any attempts to find her. His primary goal is to take down the experiments Dottore is running, and then once that is achieved, to take down the Literal Children Department so they can have Normal Lives. Cyno is a part of this effort, but he mostly appears in conjunction with Tighnari. They're like. Co-heads of this attempt, which is. Naturally. Secret.
Collei is slowly dying because the older she gets the less her enhancements "fit her". They're all kind of jerry-rigged into working still, but it's definitely not a lasting solution. Something needs to be done about it, but obviously she doesn't want to have to go back to the military, especially because now since she's been out of containment and observation for so long there's a good chance they'll just kill her.
Faruzan is a Deep Throat (normal name) sort of character for Nahida and Scara. She secretly helps them in cases while also being frustratingly vague. It's her who eventually leads Nahida to the Project Buer stuff, which is when Nahida really starts going like ohhh nooo i need to get out of here. She's found out and made to vanish by the higher ups once they find out she's been helping, and then replaced by Kaveh, who is really there to take the fall for the person who is telling him to help them, Dori.
THE KNIGHTS OF FAVONIUS. The knights make up a much normaller section of the fbi EXCEPT for Jean and Kaeya, who are Basically Scully and Mulder (AGAIN NOT IN A SHIP WAY). They take care of different X files, and due to some mix-ups regarding how secret the Literal Children Department is, keep getting assigned to the same cases as Nahida and Scara, which makes them go hey. why do these two children keep showing up.
Jean is kind of the Mulder of the two of them, because Barbara was abducted by aliens when they were kids, and when she came back she became the puppet figurehead of a cult. Jean wants these invaders GONE and is very upset by the fact that everywhere she turns it seems like the government is COLLABORATING with them???
Kaeya is an alien. That's all there is to it really. Diluc found out and tried to kill him. When that didn't work he tried to report him to the fbi. when the fbi was like "yeah we know" Diluc quit. And now he's trying to expose the fact that the government is working with aliens but mostly he just gets dismissed as a freak.
Albedo is Jean and Kaeya's Deep Throat (again, normal name) and his main goal is really just revealing the existence of the Literal Children Department to them, mostly because he was the product of the same kind of cloning Nahida was, and he wants her to be able to live a normal life. Also because the head of his project, Alice, has started talking about volunteering her daughter Klee for the Children Department. And Albedo, who was raised basically as Gold and Alice's son (this has created unique problems for him, as being raised by two women who will sacrifice not only their department(the hexenzirkl)'s freak chalk baby but also Alice's flesh baby to the FBI might), cares deeply about Klee. He thinks that Jean and Kaeya are uniquely suited to this because 1. they both care about children (Jean because of the Barbara thing, Kaeya because of his own thing) and 2. They both have a unique sort of untouchability within the fbi, because Barbara's cult is actually generating a lot of revenue for the fbi (alien and government partnership) and because Kaeya. um. (alien and government partnership)
BACK TO THE PLOT.
Nahida discovers the Project Buer thing. Faruzan starts contacting them and helping them on cases. Both her and Scaramouche find out about the Tighnari thing, because Scaramouche recognizes Collei while they're out on a case and they follow her back home because they think it might be relevant to their case. And also for personal reasons. They agree to help.
They actually aren't doing well on a case because of Government Alien Nonsense and Alhaitham comes up to them like hey. youre not doing well on your case. And Nahida blows up in his face about Project Buer and Scara backs her up (they are close at this point). Alhaitham says. Hey. What. What are you talking about.
Alhaitham starts trying to help them figure out what's going on with this whole alien thing. Naturally they are trying to be so stealthy and fly under the radar, but it does not work and eventually he and Faruzan both go missing. He's replaced by an officer from the military, Arlecchino, who actually joins that which is under her purview (also literal children, but this time they're child soldiers instead of child fbi agents) with the fbi one.
Kaveh starts acting as both the kids' informant as well as Tighnari's. He's Nahida and Scara's man on the outside, and Tighnari, Collei, and Cyno's man on the inside. He also wants to know what exactly happened to Alhaitham.
Nahida and Scara get a name for what it is they're chasing: PROJECT CELESTIA, and find that it's connected to Project Buer. Basically. It's aliens.
Jean and Kaeya find out about Scara and Nahida by basically cornering them and saying HEY. WHATS GOING ON. But Albedo shows up and hes like "no.... it isn't time yet... it will be Bad if anyone finds out you met and talked in person". And Jean says NO. WHAT IS HAPPENING. But after everything gets explained to them and everything seems like it's going back to normal Kaeya disappears. And Jean goes to the kids and is like. "I hate to do this but I need help to find Kaeya".
So they find out Kaeya has been basically kidnapped and is being held hostage at one of the Project Celestia like. Stronghouses. Government. Buildings. Whatever. All three of them go to rescue him and they find out he's an alien. It's crazy. But ultimately Jean decides to put her hatred of aliens aside because like. that's her partner (in an fbi way).
They all keep investigating Project Celestia together but separately so that the fbi doesn't detect that they're working together. It's like both the knights' department and the Literal Children Department are working in tandem. But then things seem to be going a little too well?? Like, it seems like they keep getting new evidence that actually turns out to be nothing, like they're being strung along.
AND THEN. Through a massive group effort the Children Department gets SHUT DOWN. Diluc's credibility has been slowly rising because he's been getting fed the results of the cases from Kaeya (begrudgingly), and he's threatened to expose the Literal Children Department if it doesn't get disbanded, with the extra backup of the article ready if he happens to mysteriously vanish because of it (the backup is in Tighnari's possession, not that the fbi knows that).
So Nahida and Scara get put in like a special sort of fbi containment orphanage (lead by Arlecchino still, who may or may not have been part of this plan it's unclear) where they can lead Kind Of Normal lives (it's not ideal) except now they're not agents anymore. So they can't investigate Project Celestia anymore. And all of the adults in their lives are like "that's good!!" but they hate it.
So Nahida, Scara, Collei (who is also a part of the orphanage as part of the deal to not publish the expose about the Children Department), Klee, and Lyney & Lynette & Freminet ALL run away and Try To Get Answers. They are all on the run. They contact Jean and Kaeya, who, with the help of all of these. children. are able to sneak into the government facility where the Project Celestia files are being kept.
THEY GET THE FILES. THEY PUBLISH A LARGELY INCONSEQUENTIAL PART OF THEM BUT ITS STILL LIKE. ALIENS ARE REAL 2K24. EIGHT ADULTS AND SIX CHILDREN GO ON THE RUN. THEY CHANGE THEIR NAMES AND IDENTITIES AND ARE NEVER FOUND BECAUSE PART OF BEING AN AU MEANS DESPITE BEING IN THE X FILES THEY CAN BE HAPPY.
THE END <3
if you made it this far. i hope you enjoyed this post. i'm sorry it was 1 million miles long and if you have any like thoughts or ideas or whatever i would love to hear them.

☕️ Genshin impact lore (as in how accessible is it for the uninitiated. Does the game eventually give it to you straight, does it take too long to get access to character and world backstories through the little storybook thing they've got going on bc personally I am an impatient person and I dropped it bc it was taking too long)
☕️ Madara jealous headcanons
First of all I am very sorry this took almost two weeks to answer 😭 brain just would not cooperate but hey it’s here now. Secondly I’ll be putting the Madara bit first and then the Genshin bit under a readmore since it’s a lot less relevant to whomever else sees this, I guess HKCNGKD
———
Madara jealous headcanons… not sure whether you meant romantic or general, so I did a bit of both but also accidentally wrote A Lot. So sorry . Also if any of it sounds odd so sorry again because I wrote it all at once.
I think that particularly during the Konoha founding period he could’ve dealt with a lot of bitterness over the way charisma seemed to come naturally to Hashirama, who was widely admired, whilst he struggled to be seen as anything more than his battle prowess/in a fearful or hateful light, even amongst his own clan.
I think even if he knew that Hashirama struggled with the way he was viewed (which personally I think he would’ve had those struggles) it wouldn’t really stop those feelings, even if he did his best to shove them down and pretend he didn’t yearn for that same admiration (even if he felt he didn’t deserve it).
Then, there’s another layer to it if you add Mito and all that into the picture. It depends on what interpretation of what their relationship was like in the Founding era, but what makes the most sense here I think would be like… they both loved eachother but it was always an “almost” situation.
Despite the tension that was clearly there between them, Madara would be too repressed and lost in his own grief and self-loathing to make any real advances, (and Hashirama never did either for his own reasons) and then before he can come to process any of it he’s being told of Hashirama’s marriage, and finds himself seething— both at Hashirama and at himself, and at Mito and at it all. It’s a culmination of all his past envy and bitterness at that point, and it just gets progressively uglier.
I think he’d be invited to the wedding, because why wouldn’t he be, but I don’t think he’d publicly show up. He might slip in to watch bits and pieces of the ceremony, but the look on Hashirama’s face when they accidentally make eye contact is enough to make him walk out, quickly making his way home before Hashirama got a chance to speak to him.
Well. Anyways, maybe after this is when he starts to really lose himself in researching the tablet, poring over it day in and day out because who is there left to see? His clan thinks he’s deluded and unfit, and the sight of Hashirama and his wife revolts him. I don’t think he hates Mito because it surely seems he respects her by the War arc, but the feelings there are largely unpleasant. He knows it isn’t any fault of hers, yet still the jealousy remains.
And there’s the confrontation between them, and the distance between them has grown too large for any understanding. Madara then feels vindicated, and though he could’ve gone for one last-ditch effort to communicate, he doesn’t. There’s no hope left. The rest is history, etc etc.
TLDR
Tumblr media
Anyways here’s the Genshin bit ⬇️
To be honest, I don’t think it’s incredibly accessible, at least if you’re trying to find things out primarily by just playing the game. I’m not sure exactly what you mean by the storybook thing, but I think it’s kind of like. If you don’t wind up getting invested in the gameplay/mechanics at least to an extent, or find some other Tie to keep you playing, it would just get exhausting I think because most (though not all) of the lore comes in the form of questlines that you go through, which can be very time consuming. Additionally, there are the lore bits you get via character profile voicelines, but that is even more of a matter of patience because you unlock many of the lines by doing dailies, leveling the character, etc.
Now, that being said, you don’t necessarily have to do things the conventional way. Pretty much every quest has been recorded and put on Youtube, and there is of course the wiki and other places to find information. I can imagine that may not be as immersive for some people though… it’s a difficult thing. I would say that even if tiresome, doing gameplay stuff and quests to gain more information can still feel very rewarding, but once again it depends on the person.
If you have more specific questions about this/the game in general my DMs are always open!

A Genshin Impact Hermitcraft AU Idea, God Help Me
Last year, on September 28, a particular gacha rpg game was released and I, occasionally regrettably, fell straight into playing it. In honour of the fact that this will mean I have lasted nearly a whole year (I got the game a week after bc uni) determinedly not spending any money on Genshin whilst also trying to roll good characters…here’s a bunch of Hermitcraft Genshin AU ideas that I initially came up with at roughly 2.40 am.
The general idea of this AU is that the Hermits end up in a new world that has Genshin-esque mechanics, on top of the usual Minecraft shenanigans. So, Visions and stuff. Also, we’re gonna just…briefly ignore the actual Genshin lore in regards to how Visions and Gnosises (Gnoses?) come about, for this one.
Post-S8, the Hermits are travelling to a new world, ready for another season.
The moment they arrive, it is clear to them all that…something is different. Something is vastly different with this world, for all that it appears much like the previous servers that they have lived in and travelled to. There is something of a…presence to it, in a sense.
When the Something Different doesn’t appear immediately, being the demigods/almost-deities that they are, they go about their days, setting up starter bases, gathering the basic resources and tools, the usual beginnings.
Things change when Doc wakes up one morning after a hard day at work building a new redstone machine, to find a small glowing chess piece lying next to his head, crackling with an ethereal purple light
Upon picking it up, he feels a burst of energy, almost like that one time in the previous world where he and Ren built a lightning-summoning tower
However, the changes it has wrought become apparent later that day when Scar comes out of nowhere with the recording of a creeper’s tell-tale hiss and explosion, and Doc sends him flying backwards with a startled blast of lightning
At first, they chalk it up to ‘Something Funky With Doc’s Current Project’, but after some tests, some experimentation to confirm if it was a one-off reaction…they end up confirming that they may have found out what the Weird Thing about this season’s world is
The duo go to Xisuma with their findings, and, to their collective surprise, X can’t find anything blatantly broken in the server’s code, but he does find a few interesting lines within.
By all appearances, this is not a glitch, but simply an intended feature of the server
Seven lucky hermits, designated as Archons in the server code, will receive a Gnosis, an artefact of elemental power that the server can assign, given to the ‘player who best suits the element’
The server notes speak of how the power granted (and represented through the chess-piece-shaped item) will grant the receiver the capability to shape the land around them
By random chance, other players on the server will also be gifted a Vision, a somewhat lesser artefact that will still grant them a form of elemental power
Given that the Hermits are practically gods in their own right, considering they are already capable of shaping the worlds they arrive in as they see fit…are more curious than worried, at this point
They agree to keep an eye out, to see how chaotic the sudden acquisition of elemental powers will turn out
The next person to receive a Gnosis is Grian, who delights in the bursts of wind he can use to buffer his flight, gliding across the server with naught but the turquoise magic the server has seen fit to grant him
After that, most of the Hermits soon receives some sort of Elemental power from the server
A Summary of Who Gets What (That I can think of so far):
Doc: [Electro Archon]
Can summon lightning, without need for a trident, a thunderstorm, or a machine that can generate an ongoing thunderstorm for as long as its activated
Can also generate an Electro shield, though it does require his active concentration to maintain for longer than a few seconds. This shield appears like a charged creeper’s aura, except purple
Capable of generating a thunderstorm at will, but rarely does it on account of mob spawning dangers
Has found that by channelling a low level of Electro energy, he can in fact power redstone machines just by tapping them/being in close proximity to them
This has proven to both be a blessing and a curse, considering that on occasion, when startled, he has short-circuited some of his machines
Grian: [Anemo Archon]
Generally, uses his powers as a free rocket boost for flying around the server
Upon finding out that he can use the Anemo energy to create pockets of energy that can boost flight, he takes to leaving them all over the server, in convenient locations to make flight that much more efficient
Yes, he absolutely sets up a fancy elytra course that makes use of his flight-boosters to send players rocketing around a course at breakneck paces (poor Scar experiences many instances of kinetic energy)
Bdubs: [Geo Archon]
Suddenly, making mountains and other works of major terraforming is a lot easier
Certainly, he still prefers to sculpt them and detail them by hand, but bringing the basic shape of the mountain forth by brandishing the power of Geo is something that he can do with ease, in this world
A new shop pops up in the shopping district rather quickly after this realisation: Bdub’s Landshaping Service, Now offering quick terraforming at a budget price! (it is, in fact, a service that makes him quite the amount of money)
And when he wants to sleep, without the other hermits breaking his bed? A glowing shield of steadfast golden magic takes care of that.
Gem: [Dendro Archon]
The patch of the server that Gem has claimed for herself quickly springs to life as plants of all varieties grow to surprising proportions, energised by the power that she now can radiate
The effect is most notable in and around her home, of course, but wherever she travels, the plants grow more vibrantly for days afterwards
Adding a forest of birch around her house takes little more than a thought, a fact she uses to prank some of her friends, those who in the last world were rather vocal about their dislike of non-stripped birch
Another power Gem finds herself with is the ability to summon vines even without a surface for them to initially grow upon, and thus it is not uncommon to see Gem building or resting in a hammock of woven vines
Cub: [Cryo] (cannot make up my mind if I think he’d be Archon material or not)
Gathering powdered snow has never been easier, as instead of waiting for a storm to form and last longer than it takes a Hermit to get into the nearest bed, he can simply clap his hands together and a lump of snow shoots out from just above his shoulder.
It does hurt, getting hit by the sudden snow barrage that Cub is now capable of, but except for the occasional snowball fight, his newfound snow-creation ability is used for making increasingly more insane mob farms and snowy building decoration
False: [Pyro]
The magic her Pyro Vision grants her doesn’t become apparent, not for a while, until she visits the Nether for the first time in this world
A mis-swing in a bastion, and suddenly a horde of piglins and hoglins are chasing after her, and there isn’t enough time to pillar away.
She readies her sword and shield, ready to fight, and suddenly her blade crackles to life with bright flames, unlike the fire aspect enchantment in that it actually is on fire.
Every attack she lands, whilst her sword is alight, seems to invigorate her, return strength and stamina that was lost when she had first tried to flee the enraged inhabitants of the bastion
Xisuma:
The admin is one of the few to not receive a Vision or a Gnosis
Quietly, he does admit to being relieved, considering his powers as an admin are already much greater than that of the other Hermits, for all that they are still his equals
And then, one day, whilst X is placing his diamonds to sign up to one of Grian’s newest competitions, he feels a rush of foreign magic, so unlike the familiar ordered pulses of server code
The blast of wind that comes with a swing of his sword, much later whilst he is mob-farming, is greatly surprising, if not unexpected.
The funny thing about all these new powers, granted by the server itself in the form of artefacts that can easily sit in one’s palm, is that for all they are miraculous on their own, the natural capabilities of the Hermits are already enough to rival them
In the hands of an ordinary person, an ordinary player, the powers from this world would bring them close to the near-omnipotence of Creative, could even be the driving force of server-wide conflict.
Powers such as these, while they can build great things, can so easily be used to destroy, to cause war and destruction, and in other realities, they have.
Perhaps whatever trick of fate that caused the server to be capable of granting these powers hoped to create that conflict, to see what would happen when only a few of their number were gifted such strengths.
Later, when the initial surprise and rush to test out the limits of the server’s granted magics dies down, Zedaph approaches Xisuma, one of the few to not possess an artefact of elemental magic, with an observation
Zedaph notes that, from his studies of the Hermits’ new powers, almost all of them are oriented vastly towards combat, whether they be summonable blades of frost, elemental shields, or even the ability to soothe aches and hurts
And even though the Hermits have all found ways to make those powers work in the ways that they wish them to, it does not take away from the fact that the likeliest original purpose of this server’s magic was for fighting
Any other server, any other group, Zedaph quietly says, and there would more than likely have been bloodshed, given the inequality in the range of power granted
At the end of the day however, unexpected gifts of power or not, the Hermits, at their core, are a group that creates and innovates, a band of friends that shape entire worlds with naught but their own ideas and willpower, and regardless of what powers they now possess in this particular realm, that will not change.

Tartaglia
"I know this is strange... and you can totally say no, but-" "Sure!" the ginger haired boy replied in earnest. You immediately fell to silence. "I'm sorry, can you repeat that? I think I misheard you." "I said sure," he repeated with a slight chuckle, flashing you that warm smile that always gave you butterflies. It felt like you had played this scene out in your head a thousand times, and no matter what outcome you had imagined, this was beyond your imagination, completely surreal and unexpected. "You're not just saying all of this to mess with me, right? You're for real right now?" "Ya, of course I am," Childe told you as the two of you traversed the harbor. Childe had been a long time friend of yours, one of the only faces you recognized when you first arrived in Liyue all the way from Shneznaya. You had never gotten the chance to get close to him back home, but he always had a little piece of your heart, so when you found him at the harbor, you immediately gravitated toward him. As it turned out, he was just as happy to see an old face as you and you started hanging out. Today, Childe had invited you out to the farmer's market happening in the harbor. He said he wanted to cook something for you and needed your help picking out ingredients, and you figured if you're eating dinner at his place anyway... "Thank you," you beamed, eyes sparkling like you won the lottery. "Of course," he answered casually. "I mean, it's just sex. No biggie." Oh. You felt something inside you shatter, and suddenly all that excitement and accomplishment you felt had died. You should've known it was all too good to be true, you thought. Just sex? You'd been working up the courage to ask him for weeks, not to mention the years you spent pining over him. It was certainly much more to you than "just sex". But you continued onward with him to the port anyway, stalls aligned across the edges of a pier. "So," Childe exclaimed, basking in the midday sunlight. "Where should we stop first? I see... jueyun chilis, always a welcome hint of spice. Or we could grab some lotus heads, a nice refreshing taste, huh?" "Ya, sounds great," you droned. The way Childe smiled, warm and welcoming, now only seemed to leave you with a bittersweet taste in your mouth. This was as genuine as you would ever find Ajax, the only time you could call him by that name without a brutal sense of imposter syndrome cracking down on you, and here he was, responding to you offering your heart and soul to him with "no biggie". "So which is it gonna be?" Childe continued, smile ever bright and shining. "I'm sorry, what?" "Which is it gonna be? Chilis or lotus heads? We don't have all day," he chimed. "Oh, by the way. Are you expecting like candles, a bouquet or anything, or would you rather skip the casualties and get to the good part?" You nearly spit on the water you had been chugging on as a sort of coping mechanism. "Excuse me?" "I mean, it's no big deal either way, I just don't wanna do anything you don't wanna do, you know? So if you want me to buy lanterns and a dozen silk flowers, I will, but I also don't wanna go overboard." You pressed your hands against your temples, a feeling of stress and humiliation washing over you. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, placing his hands on your shoulders which you defensively swatted away from you, eyes stinging with incoming tears. "I- I need a minute," you told him, rushing to the edge of the pier where a single lonely bench sat. The reality of the situation became hard to avoid when Childe started talking about your virginity like it was a chore. You didn't expect it to go like a dream, but this was far from what you wanted. You didn't want this as a friend asking for a solid. You loved him. You loved him so much it hurt sometimes, and as his tall but slender figure sat down next to you, you felt yourself shrivel in his presence, not really sure what to think or feel.
He seemed to hunch over the edge, his hands folded and pressed up against his forehead.
"I... I'm not sure what this is about, but you know you can talk to me about anything." "Ajax," you replied, dodging his gaze like your life depended on it. "Forget what I asked earlier." He seemed to pause in slight hesitation but agreeably nod soon after. "Okay. If that's what you want." "It is," you asserted, silence falling onto both of you. Tension and awkward silence were not the kind of situations Ajax excelled in. It had always made him uncomfortable, too uncomfortable, and you knew that fact about him even before he left the country. It didn't take long for him to interject to disrupt it once again. "You know, maybe it's just my imagination, but I have a slight inkling that... this isn't actually what you want. Am I crazy?" he asked, so painfully genuine in asking. You let out a sigh, releasing the unbearable tension that had built up in your chest. “I didn’t expect you to think of this as such a casual thing,” you said. “Oh,” he replied, seemingly relieved. “Well, like I said, if you want me to-“ “It’s not about what I want.” Childe perplexed, head tilted like an innocent little puppy. “Well… then what is this about?” You began to ferociously shake your head in frustration. “What do you want, Ajax? Tell me that.” “I… I want you to be happy and comfortable-“ “I said it’s not about what I want. What do you want?” You interrupted once again, patience running thin. “Answer me.” “I just said it, didn’t I?” He questioned defensively. “I don’t know what else you want me to say.” “Are you an idiot?” “What? What did I do??” “Ajax,” you projected. “What about me?” His eyes only seemed to grow further into confusion, breaths deepening as he attempted to remain levelheaded. “What about you?” He repeated back to you in defeated tones. That’s when the tears began to fall, no longer able to maintain the storm of frustration and betrayal you felt inside as you sobbed in front of him. “What about me?!” You repeated back sharply. “Childe, do you even want me? Did you want me when you agreed to this.” “What? Of course I do!” He reassured you, defensive but seemingly honest, as if it shouldn't have even needed to be said aloud. “Then why is this not as big of a deal to you as it is to me??” You pleaded with him at the end of your ropes. Something about that question seemed to remove the light from Childe’s eyes, a gloom hazing over them as he ceased to stare at you, and instead at all the stalls that lined the harbor. “You know, I’m not a virgin,” he said. “There’s nothing I can do to change that.” You instinctively rolled your eyes at his obvious comment. “Ya, no shit,” you replied. “Your point?” “My point is… I could sit here and pretend I’m nervous like a little school boy and that the idea of having sex gives me feel all warm and fuzzy, but the reality is that kid is long gone. Part of me even wishes I could, but just wouldn’t be the truth, and if I owe you anything…” “Then why agree to have sex with me if it’s not going to be special to you?” “I never said it wasn’t,” he insisted. “Really?” You questioned him. “You said, and I quote, it’s just sex.” “And I stand by that,” Ajax replied once again. “To me, it is just sex. It doesn’t mean all that much to me anymore, but you know what does?” Childe stared back up at you with hope in his eyes and the tinge of rose on his cheeks. “What?” You asked him reluctantly. He smiled. “You. You mean something to me,” Childe hopelessly declared. You felt your heart flutter but quickly suppressed it, not wanting your feelings to cloud your judgement. “That’s a cute line,” you answered back. “You say that to every girl you hook up with.” “No,” he said. “Only the one I love.” His tone, smooth as butter, nearly sent you flying above the shore line. You were dreaming surely, you thought, but as Childe touched your hand gently, wrapping it around yours in a gentle comfort, you saw the reality of what you were witnessing. Ajax, smiling like a kid with candy, telling you he loved you.
“What I want is irrelevant,” he said. “I want to do this the way you want, whether that’s a horse drawn carriage or a hotel room in Wangshu Inn. I can’t have that special first time, but you…” “Ajax,” you stopped him, grasping back onto his hand joyfully in response. “The only special first time I want is one that happens with you,” you beamed, eyes sparkling from the clearing of tears that had finally finished dropping. Childe chuckled, face alight like you had never seen it before. He removed his hand from yours just after planting a gentle kiss on your skin, eying a nearby stall that was only a couple yards away. “I’ll be right back,” he said before walking toward the salesmen with a smile painted pridefully across his face. “A dozen of your finest silk flowers, please.”
Arataki Itto
The self proclaimed "Oni King" had the usual dumbfounded look on his face after you finally asked the question. His blood red eyes had shot wide open and a dopey smile smeared across his face, the one that really got under your skin. He was looking at you with that same look he gave you after challenging you to his silly games- no, it was more specific than that. You could tell by the gleam in his eyes, by the instant doubt and annoyance that overcame you as you noticed, that to him... he already won.
He took a brief moment to clear his throat, trying to contain the all too obvious excitement that had already overtaken him before turning back to you with smoldering cartoonish eyes. He was so terrible at flirting, you would've laughed your ass off if it hadn't been you that started it. "Well since a.. beautiful lady like yourself is asking so nicely, I-"
"I knew I shouldn't have asked you."'
The overconfident smile immediately dropped from the Oni's face, his shoulders slumping to his sides. "What?! What did I even do wrong?!"
"Everything," you answered bluntly, eyes of steel piercing through his weak heart. "Itto, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person to tell you this, but you're cockiness really makes my blood boil."
He rolled his eyes and scoffed casually, a fisted hand pounding into his chest to represent his hurt. "Ouch. Well, if I make your blood boil so much, why would you even ask me that in the first place?"
"You know, I'm starting to question that myself as well."
The Oni's eyes seemed to darken further, the sense of disappointment and defeat sinking into him like stones. It wasn't like he was mad or on the verge of tears or anything like that. He just seemed... bummed and pathetic. It didn't take long for that small glimmer to return to those scarlet eyes, though. Arataki Itto, as most of Inazuma knew by now, was not one to accept defeat so willingly if there was the slightest chance of victory.
"Is it my hair?" he asked with a curious head tilt, the corner of his lips crawling up his face in a flirtatious smirk.
You looked at him unamused. "Your... hair? You think I asked you... because of your hair."
"Well, why not? I have fantastic hair, you know" he boasted, taking his stupid comb from his pocket and brushing it back pompously.
You snatched the comb from his hand impatiently and held it before him, snapping it in half with delicate fingers and dropping it to the ground.
Itto let out a sign of unsurprised disappointment. "You owe me a comb... again."
"I wouldn't keep breaking them if you wouldn't keep talking about your stupid hair, you stupid Oni!"
"Okay, fine! Fine... It wasn't my hair," He mumbled. "No one appreciates my hair-"
"Enough about the hair!"
"Ya, ya..." Itto groaned. "Okay, so if it's not my hair, then I bet it's my rippling muscles."
Your face drooped into a dead, not entertained stare that felt like it was beginning to cement on your face.
Itto nodded in acknowledgment, knowing well he wouldn't be needing a verbal answer. "Oh! Oh! I got it!"
"I'm sure you do," you droned skeptically.
"It's definitely gotta be my Oni markings!" He insisted, arms spread wide to show the extent of the red lines that ran up and down his body. "They're pretty badass, right?"
"You're an idiot," you answered him.
"I prefer the term hot mess, thank you very much."
"I'll stick to idiot," you assured him.
"Understood."
Itto's expression seemed to grow and intensify in confusion, trying desperately to read the archive of his mind for the correct answer.
"Is it my claws?"
"No."
"The eyeliner?"
"No."
"Is it because of Ushi?"
"Why would I want to sleep with you because of your pet?"
"Oh, I get it! You're just into the bad boy types, aren't you."
"Not really."
"Am I even getting close here?"
"Not at all."
The Oni flopped down on the grass dramatically, sprawling over the ground in exhaustion. You could practically see the smoke coming out of his ears. Itto was a lot of things. Smart was definitely not one of them, but if you'd learned anything about the crimson oni in your time knowing, it was that he was a lot more than meets the eye.
You let out a slightly annoyed sigh. "Itto, you know this is important to me, right? It's not some game or challenges. This is... all of me."
"Of course I know that," he concurred in a moment of rare calmness for the Oni. "Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond flattered you would trust me like that, but- well, I don't get it."
"You don't get a lot of things, oni. You're gonna have to be more specific," you joked.
He released a stifled breath. "You're telling me that of all the people Inazuma, you choose me. Why?"
"Because of your hair, rippling muscles, and oni markings, clearly-"
"Alright, alright," he interrupted. "I see what you did there, but seriously."
"I wasn't aware I needed to stroke your ego before-"
"This isn't about my ego," Itto quickly shut down the idea.
You turned to him once again, dropping the antics and noticing the dull look in his eyes. He looked unusually bothered by something, which gravely concerned you. "Could you... tell me why you want to know first?" you asked hesitantly.
He shook his head, a bitter smile momentarily growing across his face before fading back. "It's stupid. It's nothing you need to bother yourself with-"
"There's nothing you need to be ashamed of with me," you assured the oni. "You can trust me."
"I do trust you, that's kind of the problem," he told you, a growing frustration and hopelessness arising from him.
Your eyes furrowed in confusion. "I don't follow," you answered him back.
Itto's head seemed to tilt back so far on the grass he seemed to be trying to bury himself in it. "When I was a kid, the only time pretty girls would come near me was on dares from their friends, then they'd run away screaming without letting me say a word. I only got asked out so I could be made fun of later, but when I grew up I got a lot more romantic attention from people, if you wanna call that. Most of the time, though, when they wanted to be intimate, it was so they could brag about being with a hot-blooded oni. I've... trusted a lot of people with all of me, trying to find someone who actually wanted all of me, but there was always an ulterior motive. I care way too much about you. I want to give you this so bad, but I seriously need to know that it's nothing like-"
"Itto..." you murmured under your breath before sitting yourself next to him on the grass. "Oni, I'm so sorry that all happened you. I- I had no idea-"
"It's okay, Y/N. Really!" he reassured you, falling to silence as small prickles of water developed on his lower lids.
You connected your delicate fingers to Itto's face and wiped away the falling droplets. "I should've been honest with you from the start, but sometimes it's hard to get through to such a hardheaded oni."
"Ya, sorry I wouldn't stop talking about my hair," he chuckled, a tired defeat underlying in his tone.
"It's okay," you told him. "Just know I'm not here for your big dumb hair, Itto. I'm here for your big dumb heart. The biggest, dumbest, heartiest heart in all of Inazuma."
Itto let out a bellowing chuckle. "You've been dogging on me all day and that's your best pick up line?! Seriously?!"
"Wha- hey, I'm putting my pride on the line for you here, you stupid oni!" you shot back.
"Oh come on!" Itto scoffed. "My big dumb heart? You really expect me to buy into that one?"
"Excuse me!" you exasperated. "Are you trying to suggest I'm lying?! I resent the accusation."
"And I resent the accusation that my heart is big and dumb," Itto answered back, arms folded and face turned stubbornly away from you.
"Well, my bad, but I'll have you know I love that big dumb heart and everything about the oni that comes with-"
You halted in realization of what you just said, the grassy plain you and the oni laid across growing silent. The only sound that remained was the whistling of wind and rustling of tree branches, but all you could hear was the steady pounding of your heart. You weren't ashamed of Itto, how you fell for the charms most people never stuck around him long enough to see. Still, the sudden confession seemed to surprise you more than him, how the words just slipped out of your mouth effortlessly.
"Everything?" Itto interrupted the silence.
"Y-yes, I believe I said that."
There was a low toned chuckle that escaped the oni and a devious smirk that followed as he eyed you playfully. "So what I'm hearing is... you do like my hair!"
You palmed your forehead in disappointment, head shaking ferociously as you laughed in disbelief. "You know, now that I think about it, Kujou Sara is a very beautiful woman-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence," he scolded before returning back to his regular carefree antics.
Diluc
Diluc Ragnvindr... such a cold and serious man on the surface, the foremost business tycoon of the Mondstadt wine industry, arguably the most powerful man in the city, both on the social ladder and in raw physicality. You'd initially written him off as too intimidating to even consider asking, despite the fact you'd known him since childhood. Had you ever had any chance with him back then, you were certain you'd lost it when you left Mondstadt to travel the world. Of course, you also figured your feelings would fade with the distance, and boy were you proven wrong.
"Can I get you something to drink?" Diluc asked casually from behind the Angel's Share bar.
You jumped, breaking your thoughtless staring. "I- uh... glass of dandelion wine?"
He nodded and turned his back to pour you a glass, and you were about ready to start screaming and throwing things in the corner of that bar you were so frustrated with yourself, but you contained the urge, all while continuing to feel stupid simply for sitting there, hoping for a miraculous yes should you even work up the courage to ask. Diluc Ragnvindr was the most eligible bachelor in all of Mondstadt, and you felt pathetic letting yourself become as desperate as the hundreds of other girls pining for him.
It didn't take long for Diluc to turn back around and gently place a slightly overfilled glass of wine in front of you. "Is something bothering you?" he asked as he grabbed a couple glasses and a rag and to clean to keep his hands busy.
"N-no, what makes you think that?"
He gave you a stare of suspicion. "You're sitting at my bar... alone. What do you think?"
The comment immediately had you shriveling up in embarrassment before him. He had a point. Nothing reeked more of desperation than going to a bar alone. You reached for the glass begrudgingly, knowing well that was the only answer Diluc needed as he nodded in understanding.
He proceeded to get called over by other patrons and you felt yourself on the verge of collapse, fingernails digging into the finished wood of Diluc's pristine bar, lurching for your glass and taking a large gulp of the wine before the bartender of the night could turn back around to see you. In retrospect, you may as well have just downed it right in front of him. Diluc was anything but blind after all. When he did turn back to face you, he saw the already half empty glass and took a mental note to keep an extra careful eye on you that night. Diluc did know you after all, all too well at times. Some would call you friends, though claiming you as such was a string of words that seemed to get stuck in his throat for some reason. Regardless he had no intention of letting you stumble out of his bar and into a bad situation, and you knew that as well, that despite Diluc's tough exterior he was a gentleman. You trusted him. You wouldn't have been at his bar for the reasons you were otherwise.
He came back to the empty glasses in front of you, running an old rag across them until they shined with a vitreous luster, trading looks with you when your eyes would meet and you'd nervously pull away from his gaze. "Are you enjoying it? Being back in Mondstadt, I mean," he asked, trying to break the ice as you only exacerbated the awkward tension.
"Yeah, definitely," you confirmed. "Traveling is great and all, but... I have loose ends I've been meaning to tie up here."
Diluc nodded understandingly at the notion. "I understand. Traveling can be such a nuisance when you can't shake that feeling you've forgotten something back home," he concluded. "I assume it must've been something pretty big, though. You seemed quite determined to leave."
You sighed. "I thought if I got far enough from it I'd just forget eventually."
"Well, when you try hard to forget things like that it only forces you to think about-"
"Think about them more," you interrupted him. "I know, Diluc. Believe me. I know that now," you told him, one hand pressed against your forehead and the other wrapped around your wine glass.
"Am I to assume then you're here in hopes that the wine might aid you in forgetting?" Diluc questioned you further.
You were near close to slamming your head into the bar's surface in the pent of frustration and awkwardness this conversation was causing. "I don't think the wine is quite going to help me forget this one," you told him with a tensed jaw.
The air Diluc carried seemed to slightly shift toward curiosity. "Is that so?" he asked, before looking around at the rest of his patrons with suspicious darting eyes before leaning into you ear. "You know, most people come to my bar thinking wine will solve all their problems, but the funny thing is the only problem it solves is making sure I never leave here with empty pockets. People leave the Angel's Share disappointed with themselves all the time, but they always seem to come back. Isn't that strange?" He whispered, a titled half smile prominently spread across his face.
There was a moment as Diluc pulled away from you, your face bright red from the unexpected sheer closeness of him, where you briefly considered if he told you that little tidbit about the Angel's Share just for the sake of small talk or if he was stringing you along. The second option was hardly conceivable to you. It felt far more like the kind of action his brother would take as opposed to him. Still, the sentiment behind his anecdote certainly struck a chord with you, save for the part where he suggested people only came back for the wine. You of all people knew there were other reasons why people came crawling back to the Angel's Share and not just any old bar. How aware Diluc was of such a conundrum was a complete mystery to you, but the message behind the story resonated a little too personality. You had (ironic as it is) liberated yourself from Mondstadt when you reached your adult years. You traveled the world and at times were certain you'd never turn back, yet you were back again, all for one man. Diluc was your dandelion wine.
"People find themselves doubling back for the things they believe will make them whole," he explained further, glass in hand once again. "And somehow it seems the wind has led you all the way back here: home. Humans are stubborn creatures. Once you've got your mind made up that you need something, nothing else is gonna satisfy you. The good news, though, is that unlike wine some urges don't need to be resisted. It's better you just give into those."
You took a final swig of your wine and sighed. "Smart as always, Diluc. Can't say you've changed much at all."
"What can I say? I enjoy consistency."
You rolled your eyes at him, offering him a handful of mora as you scooted out of your seat.
Diluc only pushed your hand away, though, clasping your fingers around the cold metal pieces. "On the house," he said. "And for the record... it's nice to see you again."
You smiled shyly as you shoved the coins back in your pocket. "You too," you agreed before making your leave.
For the moment at least.
You spent a good portion of the starry night taking a stroll through Mondstadt's streets, taking in sights that were the same yet different simultaneously from the childhood hometown you knew. There was a gusty breeze but clear skies. You went by Good Hunter for a hot meal, saw a few familiar faces you watched for a bit like a memory. It was the first time you had stopped to reminisce since arriving back in Mondstadt, but mostly you were looking for something important. You were trying to see if there was anything other than Diluc that brought you back, and the answer you reach was an astounding no. When the night became late, you went back to the Angel's Share toward close and sat yourself at one of the outdoor round tables, fidgeting with your own fingers anxiously as you waited.
You heard the ringing of the door behind you as it swung open, and you sharply turned around to meet the fiery red eyes of Diluc once again. He froze when he saw you, eyes widening in realization, dots quickly connecting.
"Oh," he said as he gently shut the door.
You smiled nervously. "Ya," you replied, eyes quickly darting back to the bag in your hand. "I brought you some sticky honey roast! You must be hungry by now."
He sighed and walked his way over to the chair next to you. It was hard to tell if the sigh was in reluctance or relief. "Thank you," he told you, accepting the food with a smile.
You gave him a moment to open the food and take a few bites, watching nervously for his approval (as if you made it yourself which you most certainly didn't). You were right, though. He was hungry. For a moment he hardly paid attention to you, but he quickly corrected that behavior and delicately wiped the honey away from his face before turning back to you and laughing in his own embarrassed disbelief.
"You know, when you were talking about that thing you couldn't forget, I didn't think... I mean, I considered it briefly, but I-" and he stopped, like he saying it would make it more true than he could actually believe. He pressed a hand into his forehead and ran it down his faced frustratedly. "You said I was smart before you left... I gotta say, I don't feel very smart right now."
You answered his own nervous laughter and repeated it back to him. "You wanna talk about feeling dumb?" you said. "Do you know how many times I thought about what I'd say and do in this position and thought: 'You know who I should ask for advice? Diluc."
His frustrated laughing quickly turned into a genuine one, a smile growing across his face so wide and excessive you couldn't help but find it infectious, and soon you were both laughing at your own stupidity. Diluc was hardly as happy and expressive as you'd seen him tonight, and at that moment you began to wonder where this was coming from. You perhaps? You quickly buried the consideration. The two of you did eventually come back down from your hysterics, and Diluc recuperated himself, clearing his throat and crossing his arms across his chest.
"So... umm- is there something you're wanting to tell me?" he asked.
You sighed and glared at him. "You're seriously gonna make me say it?"
"Oh ya," he scoffed proudly, leaning into you so he could hang on the edge of your every word. "I mean, I'm assuming you've thought about this a lot. I would hate to rob you of your moment."
You briefly rolled your eyes at him, but you knew he wasn't wrong. You'd thought about what you would say dozens of times over, and while you felt far more comfortable in Diluc's presence in the moment than you thought you would, it didn't change that tinge of nervous energy you had about it. You took a deep breath before reconnecting your eyes with his. "Diluc," you began, and he smiled at the way you said it sending butterflies throughout you that you simply had to dismiss in the moment. "As you know, I've gone a lot of places now. I've been to all corners of Tevyat, seen a lot of things, and met a lot of people. But no matter what I do and where I go, I can't shake this feeling I needed to come back to you. Because, well, I've always been kind of crazy about you and traveling the world just didn't change that even though I tried. That thing you said about people going back for the things that make them whole... I looked everywhere for something else- someone else- that would do that for me, and it's only confirmed that you are the only solution. I want you, all of you, and I always have and always will. Nothing else is ever gonna satisfy me, and I should've never left Mondstadt in the first place without telling you that."
Then there was silence, an indescribable look on Diluc's face, and the pounding of your heart as you waited for his response. "So?" you asked.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you to say that," he told you, face plastered in an unmoving smile. "I wasn't sure you were ever coming back, and now that you are... I don't think I've ever been more relieved about anything. You've come to my bar on my shifts a couple times since arriving, and it's been the highlight of my day every time. All that to say, I guess you could say I'm a little crazy about you too."
Hearing that was like an explosion of emotion, and despite how that whole night had went it still came as an absolute shock to you. You erupted into all shades of red, frozen and practically malfunctioning in front of him. In the here and now, the world was as it should be, better than it had ever been. When Diluc placed his hand on top of yours, you nearly melted into mush.
"Thank you," he told you. "For coming back I mean."
You still couldn't shake the shock, but you told him regardless. "Thank you for letting me," you told him back. "If I had known things ould turn out like this, I wouldn't have made you wait."
He shrugged. "Don't even worry about that," he reassured you. "At the end of the day, it was you who had the guts to come to me first. You've always been more of the go-getter type."
"And yet I went literally as far as I could trying to avoid this," you thought, the words slipping out of your mouth.
"Regardless, I'm glad you changed your mind," he told you, before gripping into your hand firmly and encouragingly. "It's getting cold. We should get going."
"Ya? Where to?" you asked him.
He smiled, his chest rising in a shaky breath. "I was hoping... my place. I don't wanna wait any longer than this, and I don't think you want to either."
You felt an inadmissible fluttering in your heart as you nodded back to Diluc in agreement, eyes wide and glossed over. "Okay," you answered him back, before he fully wrapped his hand around yours and guided you away with him.
Kaedehara Kazuha
Stupid Kazuha. Stupid, overly perceptive, beautiful Kazuha, you thought to yourself. Leave it to him to see right through you as always, so much so that when you go to finally ask him... he beats you to it. Of all your time on the ocean, you had never met someone who had you all figured out all too quickly like Kazuha did. He had a keen eye and excellent observation skills. You were never the most transparent person, but within a couple weeks of his stay aboard the Crux Fleet, he was reading you like a book. So here you were up in the crows nest in the dead of night, telling him about the hopes and dreams you dared not to tell anyone else, and when the conversation shifted to how you've come to resent how you never prioritized intimacy in your life and how lonely you had begun to feel out on the open sea, Kazuha already knew what you wanted, and naturally, he just asked first instead. "I'm sorry, was that too straightforward or me? You look a little red there," he commented in silky tones, concerned but still insistently teasing and mocking you all the same. "Oh, I'm totally fine," you said with a sigh as you rubbed against your cheeks as if to wipe away the red. "Oh really?" he pressed on further, "Are you certain? Because, if you ask me, you look like you might burst into flames any second now," he chuckled. "Haha, very funny!" you commented back, head turning sharply away from his gaze, a slight sense of uncertainty settling in as you tossed back and forth with yourself the genuineness of Kazuha’s offer. “You didn’t say all that just to get a reaction out of me… Right, Kazuha?” He placed a gentle hand onto the small of your back, pulling in close enough to where you couldn’t help but see the shining red of his eyes in your peripherals. “I assure you, I’m quite serious about this… watching you flounce around like a fish out of water is just a bonus.” You playfully swatted his hand away from yours at his comment, turning back to face him with a warm rosy color spread across your face. “You asshole,” you criticized him with lacking seriousness. “You know you love me,” he replied smugly, to which you shook your head in disbelief. “Deny me all you want, but I know all too well that I drive you crazy, and you revel in the chaos.” “Well, you’re certainly not wrong about the part about driving me crazy…” “Oh? Is that a confession I hear?” “If it helps you sleep at night.” The two of you went back and forth like an old married couple, trading insults with flirtatious undertones. It was a pastime you’d become accustomed to, a hobby you and Kazuha shared. Did you truly bask in chaos of it all? Of course. Would you ever admit that to him directly? Now that would ruin the fun. “You know, you never actually told me yes or no,” he asserted. “Kazuha… I think you can figure out the answer on your own.” “Oh, on the contrary. Don’t you know? I, Kaedehara Kazuha, have always been a simple straightforward man who needs to be told everything directly. I simply will not know until you tell me,” he spoke dramatically. The answer in your heart? Of course it was yes. How could it not be? But when Kazuha sat there and watched you with those self assured eyes and lips slightly curved in the most diabolical smirk... god, he made that so hard to admit out loud, and you did not feel like swallowing your pride tonight, so instead you huffed and pursed your lips, crossed your arms and swiftly turned your gaze away from him like a stubborn child. Kazuha, however, was certainly not going to let you off that easily though. He gripped onto the wood of the column that stood high above the rest of the ship and swung his body around, facing you head on with an almost dorky smile. "Miss me?" he says. "You wish," you chirped back, immediately turning back the other way, arms crossed and pushed up against your chest. "Aw, don't be like that," he pouts, taking a step closer to you and sliding a gentle hand onto your shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly across the bare skin.
The sensation sends a shiver throughout your body, but you simply walk around the wooden pole, distancing yourself just out of reach of him. He responds by subtly inching toward you once again, and you can feel his gaze burning into the back of your neck, so you pick up your pace, moving faster around the small perimeter of the crows nest, eyeing him occasionally as he follows closely behind until you both are running around it like school children. "Oh come on, love," he'll pant with a tinge of desperation in his voice as he continues to chase you, "You can't run from this forever!" "I can sure as hell try, you smug bastard!" you retort. It goes from an avoidance of confrontation to another teasing game between the two of you faster than you can truly process it, but you can hear him laughing between catching his breath, and you're still trying to avoid his gaze for not wanting to satisfy him with the giddy smile you have painted across your face. Soon, you're running without thinking, and Kazuha isn't letting up whatsoever, until you close your eyes for two seconds, and he cleverly makes a swift pivot so that you land effortlessly in his arms. The way his hands grip instinctively onto your waist as his crimson eyes illuminate in the starlight sends butterflies fluttering throughout the pit of your stomach. You can tell he's noticed the redness of your face, the way you're practically glowing, because he only seems to match that expression and amplify it within yourself. He takes a single loose strand of your hair and pushes it back behind your ear, lovingly memorizing the look on your face, as he's certain he'll cherish it for years to come. Things grow silent, the good kind of silent that only serves to let a perfect moment stand without time trying to push you into a far inferior one. You're just dying for him to kiss you, but instead he says: "Say you're mine, even if it's just for tonight." And he says it with such honest and adoring eyes... how could you possibly deny him now? "I'm yours," you answer. "Tonight, tomorrow..." "Always."
A/N: Hello guys! I know this part two has been a long time coming, but it is finally finished. This is easily the highest demand part two on my page, and I am so so thankful for all of you who patiently waited. This was hard to write, as I had multiple instances of writers block for months but at long last, we have four more amazing men with four separate narratives. This really did turn into four fleshed out stories, which definitely lends itself to the point of me writing these more than the first part, though I still love it as well. It's always been about character exploration and the exploration of ideas surrounding virginity, and hope those of you who read this can find some joy in this. This is an important series to me, because it takes a piece of fiction I love and uses it to try and navigate what I find to be an important topic to explore because of all its societal implications. Also, feel free to lmk if there are characters you'd like to see in part 3, though it might be a while once again. I'm thankful for all you, and please have a lovely day!

streamer!au could be an smau for xiao 🤔 ahh i want to make streamer headcannons for the genshin boys
warning: language
there’s just something nice about having xiao as a boyfriend, who is also a streamer. most of this is really just admiring him and his quirks when he plays, his jibes and interesting reactions, and also that nonstop attention he to give to you regardless of what he’s doing (which takes place especially when he streams)
xiao is a well-known one, in fact, and his schedule is usually to stream three times a week for about a couple hours at a time. he grew in popularity after playing a game with a friend (@tartartaglia on tweetch go subscribe) and people really liked how chill he was. once he turned on his video for the first time, you can probably guess more and more people watched him. his subscribers take all that they can from seeing him live because he’s just that type of person to pull in a crowd without even trying. or noticing.
he’s good looking, his voice is soothing to listen to, and he’s a good gamer. xiao knows strategies for certain games or even just brute forces his way through others. either way, he’s a popular choice for a team player.
his commentary is also pretty entertaining. he could be playing a horror game and start ranting, in a monotone voice mind you, about how the ghost is literally making his gameplay harder (which it’s supposed to… anyways). he’s not particularly afraid of jump scares and stuff, just a little startled at times. though, xiao also doesn’t yell—he just slightly raises his voice.
“and i have to run because you’re breathing down my neck like an asshole and I can’t stop or else i’ll lose. fuck shit.”
“hey ghost, can you shut the hell up? i’m trying to hear the damn mechanism.”
he also lowkey rage quits but it’s not in a fiery way, more like… cold…
“screw this game.” *square dies again when hitting a spike, exhales in exasperation while running a hand through his hair ”i will throw this computer into the fucking sun—“ *dies again and slams forehead on the table*
or he could be playing the most wholesome game that doesn’t seem to match his aesthetic. to be honest, he’s playing these games most of the time
“oh my god—guys they have tomato plants. i’ve always wanted a tomato plant.”
“they have cats? i’m playing this instead, childe can play genshin on his own.”
the chat is surprised to hear his obvious infatuation for small animals and things deemed to “cutesy” for him but they love the stark contrast from his demeanor. another thing they also didn’t expect was how soft he was for his s/o.
xiao says more than he would like about you and this is because he doesn’t even notice that he talks about you. like people know he’s dating someone, there’s always food or water being handed to him from the side and a voice calling his name in the background. but you’ve never shown up on stream once, he’s just hinted at the fact you’re together. it keeps some fans off his back but also keeps your relationship a but more away from the public eye.
“who am i making this avatar look like? just someone.”
he feels bad for not being able to be with you while he streams and you’re just laying on your bed a waiting for him or on his gaming couch which is out of the camera’s view. he does look over from time to time when it’s not noticeable on camera (it is, his chat is too nice to say anything about it in the moment but tease him later because they know you’re there)
so then he starts doing streams with his camera off sometimes. no one minds, they only ask if his hair is up or down to know if they missed anything (smh). during these streams he’ll pull you into his lap and let you stay there, head resting on his shoulder and you can either be on your phone or napping
as mentioned, he doesn’t yell so you don’t mind what he plays because he still has to do commentary. xiao actually appreciates when you’re this close to him because you’re also a “safety barrier” when he plays more suspenseful games. when there are jump scared you notice how he places a free hand on your back to push you closer to him.
one time he accidentally turned the camera on while he wanted to turn his mic off to talk to you and take a little break. he turned the mic off but people could see you and he was soft. like full on SOFT. no one could see your face since he was cupping it with his hands.
“are you comfortable, love?”
he doesn’t say much on a daily basis, including in his streams, but the tenderness his words hold directed at you is heartwarming. then he notices the chat going faster and faster.
MIC OFF CAMERA ON
OI ALATUS UR CAMERA IS ON
there’s no panic in his eyes, he simply closes them and sighs. leaning forward to turn off his camera and put his mic back on.
“you all saw nothing.”

on power creep (an opinion rant by katheryne)
i think i’ve mentioned this multiple times across the past few weeks, but the power creep that genshin’s been displaying recently is really really concerning me.
back in the very beginning, when the abyss was full of whopperflowers and regisvine, diluc and childe were the best damage dealers (so i’ve heard). then, when ganyu and xiao came out (that's when i joined the game), they very much became the ceilings of damage, replacing fireboy and waterg-- er, waterboy. at the moment, i wasn’t too concerned because hey, i’d just joined, i was still making my way up to where the dmg would actually matter.
but now that i have, and now that i’ve caught up with the entire story, i’m realize how the inazuma characters are (and i've heard this almost verbatim from multiple people) 'just more cracked-up versions of characters that already exist'. not only that, but you have to wait until you unlock inazuma (which is behind an AR lock, in case yall didn’t know) to be able to even forage for ascension materials. dude, you can’t even BUILD your inazuma characters if you pull them too early.
now i personally am not a huge fan of any inazuma character except ayato, and i do realize that it’s very difficult to make more unique characters given the restrictions of game mechanics (five elements, five weapon types) and assuming that they’re not going to add more, but it does lowkey concern me that i can find some very obvious connections from inazuma characters to characters from our previous regions:
(yoimiya : amber) :: (yae miko : lisa) :: (thoma : zhongli) :: (kokomi : barbara) :: (kazuha : venti) :: (ayato : childe) :: (ayaka : kaeya) :: (itto : noelle).
now obviously there are still plenty of inazuma characters who don’t have an analogous mondstadt/liyue character (or so i’ve connected) and it’s true that a lot of these are (five star : four star), which isn’t really fair to the four star character and doesn’t say much anyway (just that five stars do more dmg than four stars, which is true anyway), but it’s the (four star : five star) and (five star : five star) analogies that worries me.
why?
well, (four star : five star) is pretty obvious, right? if you have a four star inazuma character that’s about as strong as a five star character from liyue or mondstadt, it means that either four star characters are gradually getting stronger, or the previous five star characters are getting weaker. hoyoverse obviously wouldn’t retroactively make a character weaker, so the answer is that four star characters are getting stronger.
now is this a bad thing? well... on one hand, it’s great that f2ps can get really strong characters even without having a five star! but on the other hand, you can’t build said four star characters until you get to inazuma, which might take a while if you pull, say thoma, on the beginner’s banner lol. also, on some level, it begins our previous five stars’ journey to obsoleteness.
let’s look at an example: thoma and zhongli. i know they’re the only (four star : five star) pair here, but my friend said smth about how now that she has thoma, she doesn’t even need zhongli anymore because he’s just as good, and that really worried me. it’s true that hoyoverse actually had to buff zhongli because he was wayyy too weak before, but regardless, zhongli’s a five star! if thoma, a four star, has a shield that’s just as good if not better than a five star’s, that tells me that ppl might not be pulling for zhongli for his functionality anymore :(
now obviously that’s not exactly true since you can build zhongli for a hybrid build but thoma’s pretty much only a shielder, and zhongli’s also a very popular character so i doubt ppl are gonna stop pulling for him, but my point is: if a four star character can do just as much as a five star character, why pull for the five star character?
point made, let’s move onto why i think (five star : five star) pairs are even more dangerous. i actually listed a couple of pairs of these in my list of analogies above, but i want to focus on (ayato : childe), mostly because these are two characters that i know well and use and love.
like i said before, childe used to be THE top damage dealer before xiao came into the picture. granted, he comes with a lot of restrictions, such as a super-specific weapon requirement, a constellation that’s pretty much required (strongly suggested, at least), and a very very iffy crit rate. okay, that last part might just be me LOL my childe never crits and ik ppl have said that their childe also rarely crits even with an awesome crit rate, so i might be biased LOL.
but then i used ayato, and this man crits every other strike, he’s doing more dmg than childe ever does, and he’s not even built!!! i will admit that i’m probably biased here again because childe, after all, is not on a super good build (i didn’t know how to build characters when i got him), but i just... do not think that there should be THAT must discrepancy between their damage dealt.
that, and other miscellaneous things, really make me worry about power creep.
the fact that xiao is no longer the ceiling of damage (now i see ppl talking about ayaka and itto for it)... now see, i love xiao and he’s probably my best built character, and he can technically still be considered one of the top damage dealers, but he’s definitely got competition now, and the competition is slowly driving him out.
and the abyss, oh GOD the abyss-- i can’t even make it past 12-2 because i just don’t have the super specific characters to be able to defeat the bosses.
and the artifact sets? i’m sure we’ve all complained about the walls of description text that come with new sets. that’s particularly worrying because we’re seeing more uber-specific best-in-slot sets for certain characters rather than sets that a lot of people can use.
now granted, the artifact argument holds less conviction because obviously we’ve had specific BIS for the old domains as well, but in my defense, look at how many ppl can use crimson witch -- diluc, yanfei, hu tao, pyro dps amber, pyro dps benny, pyro dps ANYONE. now look at how many ppl can use vermillion hereafter -- xiao. that’s it. he’s the only person who loses HP during his burst. the best sets for him before were 2pc vv and 2pc glad, and while not super great, it certainly wasn’t bad, especially if you depended a lot on his E dmg. but now, vermillion is practically screaming at us to build him for his burst, which yeah granted that’s how he works best, but it ignores the need for his E, and... idk, i just don’t like that.
i guess what i’m trying to say is that it’s getting really hard to play without recently-released characters (particularly five star ones) and gameplay mechanics seem to favor recent characters as well and it’s getting hard for me, a pretty early player, to keep up, so i can’t imagine how hard it must be for new players to keep up. and i’m just scared because i’ve heard that honkai is pretty much p2p now and i don’t want genshin to become that. i don’t, i really wish genshin could stay f2p, no terms and conditions needed, but...
well i have to go to class now and i’m not sure i was even trying to make a point here (just me ranting about my opinions lol) but if you felt any way about it, feel free to leave a comment or send in an ask. i can’t reply to comments because this is a sideblog but asks will be replied to as long as they’re not rude and stuff lol. if you do send an ask, i will fully consider your argument but will also defend mine (that’s what one calls a conversation ;) ) so if you’re easily offended or can’t take criticism, do yourself a favor and just don’t send anything in LOL.
hope yall, uh, enjoyed a little piece of my brain???
on a totally different note, i’ve been binging criminal minds (and i mean BINGING i’m halfway through s4 and it’s only been like 9 days) and i’m sort of in love with spencer reid please don’t @ me LOL. we’ve also been getting less interaction here and idc about follower count too much but it’s just a little sad :( remembering where we were at our gloriest heh and now it feels old and tired 😞 just like us i suppose LFMAOFAOOA don’t take that seriously pls.
i really need to go to class sighhhh

Not gonna lie a LOT of the "praise" for Engage is just "look how much better it looks than 3H" instead of like. Judging it on its own merit. Like yeah duh it looks better than 3H, it was made a minimum year after its release and was possibly given more time than that in the oven after that; that's the absolute bare minimum it should be striving for, not something to go gah-gah over. And even then, the character designs are GARBAGE compared to 3H - which hey, would ya look at that, (some of) these same people are now insisting that 3H's artstyle is ALSO bad. Because 3H isn't allowed to do ANYTHING right anymore.
Like I know a lot of people (mainly FE vets) are understandably tired of Fodlan and all the shit surrounding it but can they please stop pretending that Engage looks good just because they're just personally tired of 3H. Sorry if they're so desperate that they're willing to compliment Bootleg Genshin ft. Marth, but shit's just ugly and uninspired lmao
i can totally understand that people are majorly burned out by 3h, and i suppose it is somewhat natural that people compare a new installment of a popular franchise with the game that came before it, but yeah. there's a lot of comparisons going around where 3h is getting the shorter end of the stick, like it's a breath of fresh air and 'finally something that's not 3h' and i feel like it's all the more prevalent because engage looks so completely different from not just 3h but practically any fe game to date. it's a lot of 'look what engage does that 3h did not do/did worse', and not a lot of critical thoughts on how this game copies a mechanic that is already present in a mobile app, uses old characters in a bid to raise its popularity, and genuinely is not as well-animated or designed as people say it is for a game coming out in 2022. and as you note, that its animation is better is just the minimum requirement if you're releasing it 3 years after the last installment. apart from that, as a mainline game it's not really bringing anything new to the table. and im not holding out any hope for its storyline being particularly investing either.
the general enthusiasm i see for this new game (on yt mostly) honestly makes me somewhat concerned for the future of the franchise, too. ive said it before, but i liked fe being a bit of a niche, nerdy game that has a bit of a gritty feel to it, both in looks and mechanics. say what you want about 3h, but it did have that atmosphere - there's something a bit historical about the warm colour schemes and the interface design, like it tries to fit the look of the game with its medieval monastery/castle setting. engage tries to be polished and popular so blatantly by choosing for what you can safely call vtuber character design and a game that in general seems to take a lot of inspiration from genshin, but then blander and with worse graphics. everything is soft and rounded, the interface tries really hard to be shiny and modern, the colours are very bright and the environs are light and airy (and also bland, from what i've seen). if people are excited about these new artistic choices, are games going forward going to look like this as well? not feeling that if so

The (possible) Downfall of Obey Me
5-16-21 (when writing this the event toys out)
(Tbh this post is just be trying to be naïve towards Solomare and at ever aspectthat I mention you have every single right to be upset and mad)
Okay so it’s no secret that Obey me is making bank and is very very obviously trying to make us money on the game with even trying to make us spend money with original stuff that was free to now secretly changing some mechanics behind our back
Here’s a post by @thalfox https://thalfox.tumblr.com/post/653994972840919040/i-just-noticed-a-little-bit-ago-that-the-barbatos that dose a really good job at explaining everything that has changed
(also this isn’t a hate thing fox has actually done a great work explaining everything to good detail of what has changed)
With all the changes I don’t think that it’s shocking to say that players are leavening the fandom because of many reasons to the games getting stupidly harder to even the game development
This is just a heads up this in no way is a post saying “hey this is why you shouldn’t feel this way” I kinda just wanted to see from a business standpoint and be naïve of what’s happening you have every reason to be mad at Solomare because even me I’ve been playing sense week 2 of game released and I’m only on lesson 42 every counter argument that I’m going to make I have complained about at some point
Arguments
(P.s grammar is really bad it’s sort of turned into more of a rant I wrote this at 5 am without any sleep so sorry)
1. Obey me is marketed as a free to play game
First there are many reasons people are mad this main thing that I hear about is from a lot of people is that is a “free game” which lets be honest is ridiculously hard
But still it is still essentially a “free to play game” I personally feel like the main prolog is lessons 1-20 to introduce all the characters to understand and getting the just on how to play the game
Okay and now here’s where I sort of stand with obey me, the gatcha rates are kinda ridiculously lucky when you play for the first week you luck is so amazing and is in my experience with gatchas the best luck I have ever seen for games so it’s not really hard collecting the cards
Now are they the best absolutely no, this I feel like is where you might have to spend money unless they up the skills on the Nightmare A
But what Obey me is technically trying to do is obviously making you pay by releasing your favorite demon card every 2 week which…aren’t essential they are really just hoping that you love your main demon enough to pay
With the high increase on the gatcha rate there really isn’t a pity unless you count the card pieces (but I’m not going to count that because you are more likely to roll your UR before completing the pieces)
Now after lesson 20 once the huge break I feel like Obey me almost expecting the players to keep logging in any doing jobs and some players did do that and boy did it pay off
But those players have not needed to spend a single dollar and are all caught up
Now for everyone else who didn’t the game was so difficult it’s unimaginable and because for that a whole lot of players left the game and personally I don’t blame them because of how much impact the next lessons were
Now sort of like Mystic Messenger you really just have to grind you ass off log in everyday and do JOBS :D and grind but as hard and long as it is you are still able to be a f2p but where obey me fails is that when grinding Mystic Messenger grinding was a lot more fun for me it took about a whole year to just get 550 hourglasses even when I purchased and same with Genshin Inpact it takes a while but with obey me there isn’t really anything else to do once you get to a certain point which I think obey me really lacks and could be part of a reason why people left. Grinding just is not fun (now I do think that on a phone there is so much you can do with a app game but I feel like there could be a bit more they could do)
Personally I’m just going to come out and say it don’t spend your money for one UR card for your favorite demon it’s really not worth it now im one of those Mammon stans but if I ever wanted a specific card for instance the Mammon bunny card when it first came out I wanted it so badly and didn’t get it but I also knew there would eventually be a revival so I saved and did not spend any DV(demon vouchers) until the revival
The events
Some people complain about getting the cards in the events onestly for me this one kinda makes a bit of sense I noticed the first change when the Vampire even came out and how it wasn’t as easy to get the second card but if you think of it it makes sence why
When the first event came out (Santa event) you only had to collect about 30,000 gingerbread compared to the 100,000 in event today but when the first event came out no one was at high enough levels for the AP required and you would every day when times rest to gain gingerbread as well as there was only one part to the story so when people kept leveling up their AP Obey Me had to higher the bar so it wouldn’t be so easy to get all these cards and have a actual reward system but eventually they also added another story lesson starting at the Ruri Chan event
Second thing about the events is that one there started just getting plain out boring.
When lesson 20 finished and we were all waiting for season 2 I was still loving in everyday and logging in at 12 and 8 for the free 30 AP because I didn’t know what else to and would participate in the event but eventually what I think that all otome games that have constant events like Ikemen Vampire and Ikemen Revolution they just start getting repetitive and getting real boring so I stoped playing until there was something more interesting
The last thing that some people complain about the events is that you can’t keep up with the story and the events now I can’t find it but I believe that @0beyme said something about the events a long time ago about how you have to pick between the event and moving through the main story which I kinda think isn’t really the games fault and more just a discussion on maybe missing a event
Add ons
Okay so they did this from day 1 you spend a certain amount of Devil point that you guaranteed don’t have and get out a card
Now this is just spelling out a disaster
Yeah so for the first Charge Mission is when you log in which everyone had but essentially what they want you to do is spend $100 on a game that you just logged into and never experienced or played I don’t really understand what they were even thinking with that but it must’ve worked for them to keep doing them
The second time they did it was when the break was over and season 2 came out and they celebrated by doing another charge mission which was the Lucifer and Simon card which would cost again $100 again I really don’t understand what they were thinking
And now this is I believe the fourth time they have done this for the 1.5 anniversary where they know that Mammon is obviously a favorite for many Obey Me players and where smart to put it on the really stupid charge mission but the difference is, is that instead of it costing $100 it would cost almost $200(same with Levi’s) for one thing I don’t understand
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
But one thing that you do have to remember is is that this isn’t apart of the main gameplay it really just is a mini game if you would even call it that of dress up and optimization so still I guess would be just a add on that has no effect on the actual story and game so you could I guess still call it a f2p game with really really stupidly high priced add ons
VIP
Umm so I am the first one to call myself out I have bought the VIP package first when season 2 happened and I knew how much I loved the game so personally it was worth it to me to support the developers and gain something out of it
Now I haven’t really seen much complaints on the VIP because people more use it as a “hey the game is impossible with out VIP” but the people who say this ive noticed never bought it
For $9.99 each month it is 100%
IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! Out of everything you get which honestly isn’t much you get some extra free space in jobs and really that’s it and if you choose to use all your job slots for the highest paying you get around 30,500 about a 10,000 difference not really worth it in my opinion
With VIP you also get other things like higher chance of gifts from Jobs which you will not notice one bit, and +20 AP (which if you play the events is sort of useful) as well as extra packages exclusive to VIPs so after paying $9.99 per month you also get more things to buy and that’s about it for VIP now if you really want to get more grim just use your AP and spend it of normal lessons you will get more AP that way
The Story and Kids
This could be all me just complaining and a theory by I wanted to include it anyway
Obviously many people are not even caught up or even playing but as more lessons went on the less interesting the story became to me I don’t know if it’s a me thing but season one was absolutely amazing the once season two came out it was good but not anywhere as good and one
One reason why I think that it to me became almost bland is the amount of kids that is on the app and how sensitive people were if anything bad happens
It’s no secret that the Japanese versions a lot more non-kid friendly for hell’s sake the characters don’t even swear as well as all the colors I feel like to a American audience bright colors is usually marketed towards kids but in other countriesI think many understand that that is not always the case for instance a lot of people will thing in America that anime is all for kids but I mean look at Attack on Titan or Tokyo Ghoul you would not let kids watch that of literal people getting brutally murdered you just don’t see things like that in the West where something looking kid friendly could also be very adult like
Also wtf dose this in the App Store say +12 with Ikemen Vampire and a lot of other games if you have a game rated +17 then there will be a actual pop up that says something along the lines of how “thier could be violence acts and sexual act are you sure you want to instal”
Now the story I’ve seen people point this out but there isn’t really much character development for instance Beel he dose not have a actual personality his personality (fight me on this one) all you really know about him is that he likes food and his family now I could be wrong cuz I’m on lesson 42 but still not much and this is kinda with all the characters except the special ones where the devs really favor and love for story
Some one mentioned how the developers hold back a lot which I agree with 100% they said how when there is character development they all the sudden pull back and never will almost talk about it again like ???? So there’s this constant bland story
——————-
Honestly if you liked this I might do more cuz as much as this post made me especially at the end I kinda liked ranting so...yeah there is also many other things that I want to rant about but I’m tired soooo
feel free to comment your opinions btw
Bye ima go sleep now

HEY YALL, back on my bullshit of being too invested in fantasy economics but this time with a bit more world building and alchemy prospects! Also this time I legit was looking up sources from the wiki...
Sooooo I was playing Genshin(surprise surprise) and one of the loading screen tips/tidbits about Mora caught my fancy**spoilers ahead**:
"It's a catalyst of sorts, in that it is a medium for physical transformation. That is why so many things can only be accomplished through the use of Mora"
I remember in a different discussion about the economy of Teyvet and how the events of Rex Lapis's death would have on it as he was the only one who could make Mora as known today we kinda discounted its importance to the culture of Teyvet as just a currency. The furthest we got into its elemental properties was when they pointed out that we know it has an elemental signature as evident when you go to redeem whatever you have left of Childes budget the bank clerk notes that it's legit cause it has an elemental signature.
But like, if it is used as a catalyst (of sorts) and not just a simple currency that puts things in a while new light. (Also means we downplayed the effects that not minting new Mora would have on the economy in said previous discussion, cause the consensus was that they could always revert back to paper money or older forms of currency, but I digress)
Like compare it to the the type of alchemy Albedo uses. "[T]he 'Art of Khemia', a kind of alchemy that focuses on the creation of life and is wholly different from the alchemical arts practiced in the seven nations of Teyvat"(from albedos stories): Does this mean that their 'catalyst' is the essential building blocks of life itself? A lot of his storyline refers to dust/soil as the base for all things and chalk being purified soil and thus what is used to create life, or at least life-like things(Homonculous Albedo anyone? Lol but that's a whole other topic). Also that he had to be trained to learn how to use that form of alchemy to create life from said dust, chalk, and ash(Albedo uses ash from the flower on a dendro slime to grow into a flower in the Chalk Prince quests).
Here's where I'm drawing my own conclusions and tentatively connecting dots: what if because the Art of Khemia uses basic building blocks and no catalyst like the rest of Teyvets alchemy, the 'catalyst' is the innate transformative energy/properties of the ingredients themselves and that requires training to access and manipulate? From what I'm reading the Art of Khemia is all about life and creating it but you can't create something from nothing(re: full metal Alchemist- equivalent exchange!) So the 'creating life' is really taking the essence of a thing and using transformative energy to make another thing, that transformative energy has to come from somewhere and I think it would be from the essence itself, sort of using a portion of that essence to initiate the transformation process of the alchemy but like, the process itself will then generate enough energy/essence/whatever to create the end product. And or the alchemist themself needs to give up some of THEIR energy to kickstart the process.
Using chalk is standard for the Art of Khemia as it's purified dust, which is the basic building block of all life. Being the thing from which all else is derived gives chalk/dust an enormous potential to become anything, that potential making it (theoretically) the most powerful and versatile component to Khemian Alchemy, albeit likely also a very volatile one thus the intensive training needed. For example, in Albedo's stories it mentions a time where he watched his master create a living thing from a chunk of chalk.
But that's life itself whereas for other things that already have life essence and whatnot can just have their essence accessed and combined with other things essences to create new things? Kinda filling in the blanks as there isn't a lot of actual discussion/display on how the Art of Khemia works....
Anyways, jumping off all that, Rex Lapis is the god of rock/earth which is kinda dust? (There is technically a Goddess of dust pre archon war but too tired to look up her name rn. She was a good friend of Rex Lapis' tho as Guili plains was named after the two of them) But due to Rex Lapis' connection to the earth( and dust?) He can instead take this basic volatile and versitle essence and bind the with another earthlike thing(aka metal) without actually USING UP it's energy. Thus creating Mora, an item imbued with the transformative properties of chalk/dust in an easy access form! Although because it is no longer dust/chalk it loses the potential to become life, and thus a bit of its power when compared to dust/chalk alchemy BUT still very usable and user friendly for other alchemic processes.
Which leaves me with some questions: what does that mean for more than economy but the way of life for teyvetians with mora no longer being created? The Art of Khemia isn't known by many, just Albedo and his master are mentioned I believe? Which makes sense as it's from a now practically non existent country. Like we know it's used for alchemy to make weapons and character enhancements as well as potions does its power go beyond that? If not why not? Why is it limited to weapons and character enhancements materials? Just for game mechanics or is there a logical in-game reason?
Also tho... again the amount of economical and political power this gives Liyue is both awe-inspiring and quite terrifying as they are the sole creators and distributers of said currency.

okay team comp help,.. I need your advice - I want to use diona, bennett, rosaria and childe on my team but I’m not entirely sure about rosaria’s mechanics... what do you think?
rosaria is meant to deal physical damage - of course she can be a cryo damage dealer, but just like xinyan, physical damage is more convenient with the nature of their skills.  it’s too early to definitively say what rosaria’s mechanics are, so i’ll just comment on your team’s elemental resonance and synergy: two cryo gives +15% crit rate against enemies affected by cryo.  bennett and childe is already a good combo, great for vaporize and big damage.  you also have a freeze comp going on sans bennett.  rosaria could be your dps whenever childe switches back into ranged form!  so i think so far your team is pretty solid :0

I have a question! Are you familiar with the Genshin yourtuber Zy0x? I really like their videos, but do you know if they’re any good? Thank you!
i have heard of him yes!!  admittedly though i don’t really watch a lot of his content . . . all of the things i’ve heard about his videos, though, have been very positive!  in-depth and explains the nuances between different artifacts, weapons, etc.  i believe he’s (mid)core with how he explains things as well . . . ?  overall someone who i’d trust if i was lost on a genshin topic.

what artifacts/weapons would you suggest for a sub dps/support xingqiu? c5 btw
i would recommend support xingqiiu over (sub)dps xingqiu.
subdps:
weapons: primordial jade cutter/skyward blade > sacrificial sword > festering desire.
artifact sets: 4piece heart of depth > 2piece heart of depth + 2piece noblesse.
artifact main stats: hp flower, atk feather, atk% timepiece, hydro damage bonus goblet, crit rate/damage circlet
artifact substat prio: crit rate/damage > atk% > hp% > energy recharge.
support:
weapons: skyward blade > sacrificial sword > festering desire.
artifact sets: 4piece noblesse > 2piece heart of depth + 2piece noblesse.
artifact main stats: hp flower, atk feather, hp% timepiece, hydro damage bonus goblet, hp% circlet
artifact substat prio: hp% > energy recharge > atk%.

hello!! i’m not sure if you’ve already answered this type of question before but with the fact that childe’s potential is locked behind his constellation is he still worth pulling for a f2p? :0 he’s not really kind in that regard lmao so i’m still trying to decide who to pull between him or venti and which bow would be best for who when i have both stringless and rust sitting around unused ㅠㅠ
yes!  childe is still worth pulling.  let me put this on a scale, hm . . . if diluc is the best dps in the game, a 9/10 on the scale, then childe is like . 7.5/10??? even if he doesn’t have constellations.  his aoe (in my opinion) is actually more than diluc’s due to riptide procs.  he also has amazing synergy with bennett, even when not ulting.  my point with bringing up childe’s constellation lock is that there’s just so much more he can do with them than without - c0 childe and c6 childe are not the same character, unlike c0 vs c6 keqing (hahaha someone fight me over this).
stringless is currently venti’s best gacha bow, besides skyward harp, but the new 5star weapon elegy for the end is looking to be venti’s own 5star weapon.  so weapon prio for venti would go elegy of the end > stringless > skyward harp > favonius warbow imo.
for childe, skyward harp > viridescent hunt > rust > stringless, but only stringless if you build bennett!  explanation here.
hopefully i helped clear any confusion. :0

Hey! I have a few questions, which is a better healer, Qiqi or Barbara? Also, can I be considered really luck if I get two five stars within thirty pulls (hu tao and qiqi), cause people are talking about getting a good five star in ninety pulls and im like “???”, I barely have enough primogems for a three ten pulls.
Istg, your such a good help when it comes to genshin.
qiqi is the better healer - 5stars have higher base stats than 4stars.  qiqi scales off of atk, while barbara scales off of hp.  qiqi’s skill can also apply the physical debuff superconduct because it’s electro, whereas barbara’s hydro skill cannot apply debuffs.
same logic kind of applies with their ults, with the addition that qiqi can just quick cast and switch out to have her allies attack enemies who are marked, continuously gaining health until the mark wears off, while barbara’s ult heal value is fixed.
and yes, you are really lucky if you get a 5star within 70 pulls - much less 30!!  and about the “people are talking about getting a good five star in ninety pulls”, this is true.  90 pulls is hard pity, and there is a chance to get a 5star between 76-80 pulls.  getting a 5star in less than 76 pulls is rare enough already, so the fact that you got 2 within 30 (when the pull rate for a 5star is 0.6% - not even a full percent) is amazing.

Hi, could I have some Genshin advice please? If not, feel free to ignore! I currently have an r5 white tassel on Hu Tao as her weapon. I like the crit rate stat, but I feel bad having a three star weapon on her. I also have the favonious lance and a dragonspine spear, should I swap the tassel out for one of those? Thank you!
keep white tassel, especially if it’s r5!  don’t use dragonspine spear because the physical damage bonus on hutao is icky.  r5 white tassel beats out favonius lance on all regards imo as well, since the white tassel r5 passive increases normal attack damage by 48%.  yes, even if it’s a 3star weapon, i’ve seen lots of hutao players excel with it.  so it seems as if white tassel r5 is your best option so far!

Catch me looking at childe's complicated af playstyle and thinking "big brain time"
HSADLJFSDFD YEAH?  his playstyle doesn’t take long to get used to though :0 it’s just about counting your seconds or getting a feel for when you should switch him back to ranged form so your skill cd isn’t too long.  he also has a lot of repetitive terminology in his kit LOL thanks mhy ;; but i promise playing him is easier than it sounds :0

happy weekend dearest!
other than the snow angels, i haven’t done much.,, just been cozying it up with coffee and blankets at home hehe. 30 degrees... amazing. ideal feeling like a rotisserie chicken weather. 😌 bc of global warming we’ve been having some great summers these past few years. it even gets to 30 degrees as well which was unheard of tbh.
you’re so cute for caring ilysm <3 and aaa! a walk! do you have any perticular place you enjoy walking to or does the winds guide you, hehe? EDITING A FIC... 👀 i’m looking respectfully...... 👀 wait did the event open up for you already? i tried to play it earlier today but it wasn’t there yet... the lost riches one right?
bennett is best boy i still can’t believe it either!!! he’s seriously the cutest he just makes me so happy. when i need to explore and run around i always run with him bc i love his lines so much. what a bebie. you should go for it there are still some days left! + he’s a four star so he’s easier to get. GUOBA IS SO FUNNY he’s just.... a little fucking bear i can’t stop laughing... tbh the little creatures like amber’s bunny too just 😭 have you seen those yt clips of them dancing? obsession..
i need to ask you this bc when i found out i lost my mind: did you know that the japanese va for razor is also the va for tsukishima (haikyuu) and shigaraki (bnha)???? insane!!! it made me consider switch to japanese dub tbh.. which dub do you use?
maybe i’ll send you a little part and you can read or something shdkdhskdjdjf help 😳 it’s not edited or anything so it might take a while plus i’m super into writing bnha these days so.... but hey if You have any prompts you want to read maybe i’ll write a drabble for you. i don’t mind at all! <33333 ask for anything!!
(FIC-COLLAB!!:!/$:)!:&//&/!$:’sidnd HELP.... omg what kind of fic would we write....?)

DOUBLE VENTI! I’D LOOOOVE THAT FOR US. bow users are difficult indeed but venti is one of the easier bow users it feels like... idk watching others game play he doesn’t have as much pushback as say amber for example. 12K PRIMOGEMS..... babe you’re getting your xiao!!!!!! how long have you been saving? also i seriously don’t mind if it comes down to it hakshddkhd i can be your genshin sugar mommy... ;) imagine a c6 venti though that seems insane. literal insanity.

THEY LOOK SOOOOO CUTE TOGETHER I’M OBSESSEDDDDD!!!! <3333 dude idk how but we are doing that co-op date somehow i’m super inspired i want that for us so badly... (also i need to say smth... my love language is when people say ‘i thought of you when i...’ and the fact that you said that just hsjdfhjdjdksk shit)
actually you’re right.. the only way we’d get a sequel is if they did something with the mfe fighters.. like kinkade james veronica nadia and ina. idk how attractive that would be tho...
i’m a lady, my dearest *dips* no but my pronouns are she/her!! sorry i didn’t mention it before i thought i made it clear shsjsjdkdj. ty for asking tho ♥️ super sweet!
AAA!!!!!!!!!! EEE!! i’m super super excited. if it’s like,, too public and you don’t just wanna post it i might think about exposing myself or smth... if that would make you more comfy. no matter what you do i’m just gonna be here buzzing, *hinata voice* one more one more one more.
oh!! i listen to everything but kpop sjdjdkdhdk i did have a semi-phase around like 2014-19 ish but dropped it pretty hard . now i have no clue what goes on there anymore i mostly enjoy rnb indie n rap/hip.. my gay ass was considering making a little playlist or smth for u but i want to make it with songs You’d like so i might pull up my old kpop faves hehe..

YOURS, m.a. <3
happy weekend!!!! hope you can ease up a bit since there’s no school hehe
“feeling like a rotisserie chicken weather” FHSKFHKSDF yes!! but it honestly sucks when it gets any hotter bc we don’t have central cooling in our house so rip... and my laptop fan goes crazy ahaha. 30 degrees being unheard of.. can’t relate! fsdfjs. have you guys had to adjust to those changing temperatures? rip climate change tho :’(
<333 i do!! i usually walk to the local park and then the streets around that.. omg speaking of... do you play pokemon go? DHAFKHSDKFHSKDFHKSDH i got back into it again recently ahaha. it’s for a free bakudeku zine!! hehehe it’s out at the end of jan so 👀
i just checked and the event is open !!!!!!!!! good luck hehe !
yup lost riches!! and the event opens at 4am server time, so since i’m in asia i get it earlier hehe which colour seelie are you gonna go for tho omg i was debating it with my friend last night.. i’m gonna pick gold!!
baby bennett!! that’s true but i can’t risk getting a 5 star otherwise my pity will reset for xiao fhdskfhskjfhkjshkfj next time :(((( but albedo /is/ super pretty and i see a lot of people saying they like him... NO !!! xiao only >:( no omg i don’t think i’ve seen those clips ? is it mmd where they like dance to other songs and stuff ahah
yes i did!!!! and the VA for diluc is giorno from jjba and kuroko from knb!! omg wait and venti’s VA is hinata did you know that? fun fact i guessed it was him when i first heard his voice LOL that’s my secret talent 😩 and i use japanese dub!! i’ve considered using chinese too bc i can understand it but i just like the japanese voice actors tbh and also i can excuse it as “listening practice” AHAH
yes pls!! sending something bnha is fine too, or legit anything else lmao i’m open arms over here~~ 🤗👐 and ooft... it’s hard thinking of prompts that’s why i always ask others HSDKFJHSDKFHSD but i’ll let you know if i think of something!!!
(no clue!!!! but we could each write from a character’s POV so hopefully it’s more consistent 🤪🤪 idk i have no clue how fic collabs work AHAHA)
yeahhh one of my mutuals said “social media is a curse” and honestly hard agree.. we’re all kinda trapped in a way LMAO. and no pls don’t thank me.. you’re the one who found me first 😩💘 ily..
FSDHKJFS pls you’re making me blush come on 😳😳 but yes i love that for us... m.a. x c.r. the only valid ship 😩
woooo!!!! yeah you’re probably right, like given the fact he’s a 5 star his mechanics are probably different.. i know that diluc’s charged attack is different to the other claymore users so! IM GETTING MY XIAO!!!! and hm i’ve been saving since the middle of zhongli banner! so december 10 ish around then? dragonspine was a blessing tbh i reckon i got sooo many primogems from that. FGJKSHFKJSDHFKSDHSHKJFH my genshin sugar mummy 🥵🥵 c6 venti unstoppable..
AHAHAHA YEAH THEY LOOK /SO/ CUTE TOGETHER!!! i wonder how they got so many of the images tho like they must’ve been so in sync?!?!? ugh that could be us but no cross-server co-op be playin’.. (fhdskjfhdskjfhs um!! noted for future reference 🤪)
omg them.. i always forget about them LMAOOOOOOOOO ugh. actually i wouldn’t be mad if we got a prequel of like when keith was in the garrison... or even when shiro was with adam... ugh so much they could’ve given us and they chose not to
*waggles eyebrows* well hello there, m’lady ;) and it’s fine fhdskjf i had some inklings but didn’t wanna assume ya know? ahah :p
no!! it’s all g, i’ve thought about posting it before anyway. like, just releasing all of my WIPs and letting people do what they want with them HAAHA. (i could also just put the link under a read more and less people would see it, so it’s no biggie!) fkdshfkjs the hinata impression omg precious <33
FJHFDSKJ awks ahah which groups were you into tho! if it’s not like scarring for you to think back to LOL. and oooo i like indie too! i think.. or is it alt? honestly i don’t even know, tbh my music taste is pretty diverse and a mess, i can usually listen to a lot of things. except slow songs i don’t really like those hfdskj. and i don’t like rap too much either FHSDKJS whenever my friend gives me a rec i’m just like “oh i liked the singing parts in that” FDSKJF. a playlist tho huh 😳🥺
and pls!! if the weekend is your only chance to sleep in then do it.. for me 😩 i’ve been legit waking up at 12pm these past few days FKJHSKDF idek why like i’m sleeping 10 hours?? yikes. but as always i shall be waiting for your response <3 💌

Hi hi Fa! Great day isn't? Did you get some rest and had fun watching the Reputation Tour?
I see what you meant, elemental reactions do play a gigantic part in the game after all. Zhongli is a difficult one to use, right? People have been complaining about his utility in battle, because he is a geo and those are mainly a support, which doesn't fit well in most people's parties, since it's not everyone's cup of tea. It only depends on the approach one takes in battle.
Hmm that's too bad for Xiao, we'll work on the Ayaka agenda from now on! Venti's long gone, but... Doing The Math™ a person would need at least 28800 primogems to secure getting a 5 stars character, hopefully less with luck, but I really want Venti so I'll work my ass off for it!!! :'D
I like anemo too, it's a very fun ability to play with. Not gonna lie, I thought you disliked water because of the aesthetic ahah The other elements I like are ice and fire, even if I can only use fire arrows and I can't aim to save my life ;-;
A weather system? That's intriguing... I tried to search about it and only saw something about the possibility of the characters using snow clothes and I'm all for it!
My excitement only rises with each passing day with these news!! The devs will work on it faster, I suppose; too bad they couldn't release it all at once. We'll survive the wait for sure!
Hey, anon!! Yep, I had some fun today, was your day good too?
Yes, the elements are what makes de combat on Genshin so great. Geo is a complicated element to use, since it’s an element that by nature is very inclined to support, even if Ningguang is actually a very good dps, they all some how have support abilities.
They work well as tanks and assistants for “real” dpss such as Diluc, Razor and such. Personally, I saw ppl running dps Zhongli and blasting with him, but he actually really shines as support.
When I tested him out I really liked his movements, the way his shield is so strong and how his ult is unique but also so powerful. To me, he’s a very good unit, despite everything I’ve said about him. However, I realized that he’s really not what I was needing in my team.
Cuz so far I’ve been running 2 supports as dps and 1 tank/sub-healer and 1 healer, which is fine for running around and doing daily tasks but not very powerful to take out bosses for example. Or to clean the abyss.
I was very unlucky on my first pulls in a sense, because I got a lot of repeated characters and not much differently characters to build in with, of course, the repeated characters became strong because of that, but they didn’t suit my taste, I really need a good dps, one that I can rely on and would make good combos with the characters I intend to use in the future.
That’s why I first thought about Xiao, since he’s so cool and he’s banner is so close too.
My friend tho, told me that Xiao will benefit from support characters, but he didn’t quite get my point of elemental reactions causing a damage chain reaction that is exactly what I’m searching for as a style to play. So in theory, Ayaka is my best shot, until then I will be able to gather enough primals!!
Ah, but I don’t need 20.000 primals actually. There’s a thing about the gatcha.
When you do 90 pulls you get a five star, it can be someone from the standard banner or the limited edition character, you surely know that, however, the pulls are accumulative, they only reset for a five star.
I’m at my 30th pull currently, so theoretically I would need just more 60th to get a guaranteed five-star.
HOWEVER, there’s another mechanic behind it. When you reach those 90th pulls and don’t get the character of the banner (currently, Zhongli) but get another five star (like I got Keqing), in the next 90th I’m guaranteed to get the 5-star character of the current special banner! And this doesn’t reset when they change banners, this is accumulative and stays, so they will give me the next 5-star of the banner that I choose to spend all my primals on.
So, if I went to complete all my 60th pulls on Xiao’s banner, I would get him for sure.
But also, you’re right, if someone started playing right now, they would need the number you said.
I think I can do more 30 pulls before Zhongli’s banner ends, with all the prizes, events and daily quests of this month, I can roughly maybe go for at least 30 pulls. Maybe I will only do 20, who knows. I really want more Xinyans tho. I would love do 40 pulls to at least try my luck!!
The devs didn’t confirm the weather system yet, but the spoilers talk about blizzards and items that give heat!!
Yes, the game would be so much nicer if it was ready, I guess it’s the price to pay (besides buying primals) for a free to play good game kkkkkkk I’m okay with the waiting, I will probably take some breaks from it periodically, I’ve been spending way too much time playing =/
But Dragonspine for sure is something to look forward to, the events too!! It seems like we’re getting more events!! With more free primal gems!!! <3
Btw, which is your type of weapon? Me and my sister like characters with the big sword for the damage, but spear users to me are so cool too (I actually like them better than normal sword users). Ah, and bows are terrible, I can’t aim to save my life either, anon!!
