Haha Whoops Uh Oh! (UPDATED 6/11/23)

so this isn't the type of post I normally like to make, but! uh! hey! I just got ambushed by a HUGE tuition bill I wasn't expecting, and I'm out of options to pay it - they've already applied my scholarship and loans, I'm already working multiple jobs that are basically just barely paying for rent + groceries, and I only have enough on my credit card to pay for One of the three payments they're requiring, which only gets me through till July (with, again, no options that get me that amount of money by that time).

further full disclosure, this bill came at like, the worst possible time - they've given me four days to make at minimum the first payment (which, again, I can only do by maxing out my credit card), and on top of juggling multiple jobs I'm also in the middle of two classes, including one which involves upcoming travel (that is already paid for, thank god). Hence, me Scrambling a li'l bit!!

as such, I've set a new goal on my ko-fi!! it is, of course, HUGE, but genuinely any small amount people are able to contribute goes a huge way to giving me SOME way to pay it off. note that 3-coffee doodle requests are still A Thing, commissions are still a thing (if you have one active I'll be getting to them this & next week), and I'll be streaming wherever I can to pull together money that way - wherever it comes, any support is HUGE and I mean that.

Summary: You just received your invitation for RAD's annual Acquaintance Ball, but there's a problem: you can't dance. So you turn to the eldest Avatar of the Seven Deadly Sins for help.

A/N: I based this fic on the balls from several historical fantasy webcomics I've been reading. This is basically just Luci tutoring the reader how to waltz (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)

Also, if you ask me why a ball, I've always imagined the Devildom as a place inspired by the late 19th-early 20th century, sprinkled with 21st-century things :3 (I'm just obsessed with the era)

"Ack! Sorry!"

You winced as you felt Lucifer's foot under yours for the umpteenth time today.

"I told you, just relax."

"Right, right... sorry."

You let out a sigh as you make another turn. The two of you have been practicing waltz for a few days now, yet you still kept on stepping on Lucifer's foot while dancing.

You thought about the moment that started all of this.

.

"Lucifer? Are you here?"

You knocked on the door of his office, hoping that he'd be inside. Luckily for you, he was.

"MC? Come in."

Hearing his voice, you pushed the door open. There, you saw Lucifer who sat on his leather desk chair, holding a cup of coffee. His table was full of paper stacked on top of each other, which was typical. Although you've noticed that the pile was larger than it was before.

"Did I disturb you? I can come back later if you want."

The eldest shook his head, placing the cup on the table. "No, I was just in the middle of my break. Is something the matter?"

He beckoned you to sit down on the sofa, which you did.

"Well... I'd like to ask you something about the upcoming Acquaintance Ball," you spoke while looking down at the invitation that you brought with you.

"Ah, right. I take it you've already received your invitation?"

"Yes, I did. The teacher gave them to the class earlier."

Lucifer hummed. "So? What is it that you'd like to ask?"

"Umm..." you fidgeted in your seat. "When the invitation said "ball", does it mean the balls like those in historical fantasy stories?"

"If you mean the balls similar to the ones held at the castle, rest assured. It is nothing like that at all, although I understand the confusion."

You sighed in relief at Lucifer's words. "Thank goodness–"

"Although there will be dancing involved."

You froze. "D-dance? What... kind of dancing?"

There was a small pause before Lucifer answered. "Since it's a social event, I'd say the popular kinds of dances but ballroom dances like waltz may also be included in the program."

Waltz?! You felt your jaw drop which caused Lucifer to raise his eyebrow.

"Umm... That sounds fun, but I think I'll have to pass."

"Unfortunately for you, since you're a part of the exchange program, you must attend the ball," the eldest replies, instantly shooting down your hopes of bailing out.

"May I ask why you wish to not attend after asking me questions about the ball?" he gave you a questioning look as he took his cup for a sip.

His gaze on you made you squirm in your seat.

"...ance."

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

"I can't... dance. I don't know how to dance the waltz," you said, averting your gaze from Lucifer's. You can feel the heat spread to your cheeks as he continues to look at you.

"...The decision to add waltz to the program isn't final yet."

"But still...!" You returned your eyes to the demon, your eyebrows furrowed due to anxiety.

"If you're so worried about the waltz, shall I give you lessons to ease your concerns?"

You look at Lucifer, bewildered at his suggestion.

"You're giving me waltz lessons? But... aren't you like, super busy at the moment because of the ball?"

You watched as Lucifer took another sip from his cup.

"Yes, but apart from the program itself, the preparations are almost complete and will be finished after a few more days. Since the night of the ball is still three weeks away, there will be ample time for you to learn the basics."

You can only blink at what he said.

And that's how you got yourself into your current situation.

"MC, focus!"

You flinched at the sound of Lucifer's voice, making you return your attention to what you were doing. Another apology threatened to spill from your lips.

He was, unsurprisingly, a strict teacher. But despite that, he also was caring in his way. And the strict lessons were quite helpful for you to understand the steps.

"...Shall we take a break?" he asks, looking at you with concern. He probably noticed that you were tired, you thought.

You nodded and went to sit on one of the chairs in the room.

"Here."

You look up to Lucifer holding out a bottle of water to you.

"Thanks."

You take the bottle from his hand and scoot over to give him space to sit on.

......

......

"...Hey, Lucifer?"

You were the first to break the silence.

"What is it?"

"Thanks a lot. You know, for the lessons."

"...You're welcome."

You fiddled with the bottle in your hands. He was a busy man, you were aware of that, yet he still helped you with your small problem.

"I meant it, you know? I'm grateful you're helping me out with my problem, even though your schedule is packed. And you're still helping me out even though I'm a slow learner. I mean, how many times have I stepped on your foot while we're dancing?"

You let out an embarrassed chuckle as you remembered the times you'd stepped on Lucifer's foot while dancing.

"I've taught worse. And you've improved a lot since the first day."

"Really?"

You turned your head in his direction, your eyes scanning the eldest's face for hints of deception. You found none.

"Yes. You've stepped on my feet significantly less than you did in our first lesson."

Oh.

You pouted at the demon's words, making him laugh in amusement. He then gingerly patted your head, ruffling your hair in the process, causing you to pout even more.

"You'll be fine, don't worry."

A gentle smile formed on Lucifer's lips and you can't help but return it as you relished in the comforting warmth of the sight.

Days passed and tonight was the night of the Acquaintance Ball. You took a deep breath before entering the hall where the ball was held.

"MC, over here!"

You look in the direction where the voice came from. In the corner near the entrance were Luke, Simeon, and Solomon. All of them were wearing their formal attire.

"Wow, you guys look great tonight!" you said when you were near enough for them to hear you.

Luke beamed at the compliment. "Hehe, thanks. You look great in your outfit too!"

"Luke's right. Your outfit suits you well, MC," Simeon added.

"Aww, you guys are going to make me blush. Asmo helped me pick my outfit," you say as you look down to check your outfit.

"Well, Asmodeus did have an eye for these kinds of things. Anyway, I think the program's about to start," Solomon remarked, noticing that people had started to walk toward the center of the hall.

Holding out his hand to you, he spoke, "Shall we get going?"

You replied with a smile as you took his hand and followed the people's direction.

"Welcome, our dear students, to the annual Acquaintance Ball of the Royal Academy of Diavolo! This is a night most special indeed, as tonight, we are joined by our very first exchange students from the Celestial Realm and the Human World! We hope that you will enjoy tonight's ball as we form new bonds and meet new acquaintances! But before that, let us give a round of applause for the Crown Prince and the Student Council's President, His Highness, Lord Diavolo's opening speech."

Now that the opening ceremony is finished, people began dancing on the dance floor.

You watched as couples pair up and dance to the rhythm of the music.

"May I have this dance?"

An outstretched hand suddenly appeared in front of you. You looked at the person asking you and smiled.

"It's my pleasure, Lord Diavolo."

The demon prince returned the gesture with a smile of his own.

"Please, there's no need for formalities. Just call me like you used to," he says as the two of you walked towards the dance floor.

"I could never in this situation. Besides, I might get an earful if a certain someone overhears me calling the prince casually," you replied with a wry smile, already imagining the lecture you'll get if Lucifer or Mephisto knew you called Diavolo with the nickname you gave him during this formal event.

"Haha, we can't have that, can we?" The prince grinned as he twirled you in time with the music.

"Speaking of which, I've heard that Lucifer taught you how to waltz."

"Oh, yes. He's a wonderful teacher. I still can't believe how he managed to teach someone with two left feet like me how to dance like this at all, especially since he's also busy handling the preparations for this ball."

"Well, it is Lucifer, after all. He always does things perfectly. But it's not only because of him, but also because you're determined to learn." Diavolo smiled once again and bows as the music reaches its end.

You curtsied in return. "Thank you for the wonderful dance and compliment, My Lord."

You got a few more dance requests after that. Some were the brothers, some were your fellow exchange students, while the others were demons eager to make your acquaintance.

By the time you were done, your body was basically screaming for rest. So you politely declined the incoming requests and head to the balcony for some fresh air.

The cool Devildom breeze gently caressed your skin, making your body relax instantly. You took in the serene scenery of the night, watching the twinkling stars of the night sky and the soft lights of the town below merge into one picturesque sight.

"Taking a break?"

You turned to the door where to voice came from. There stood Lucifer, donning his demon form in all of its glory.

"Oh, yes. How about you?"

"Same as you," says the Avatar of Pride as he joined you in the balcony.

The space between you was filled in comfortable silence before Lucifer spoke once again.

"How's your night going for you?"

"It's fun. Tiring, but fun."

"I see. That's good then."

"Hey, Lucifer?"

"Yes?"

"I know I already said my thanks, but I really couldn't have enjoyed this night without your help. Thank you."

"...You're welcome."

The two of you looked at each other and smiled before turning back to watch the night pass by.

“You can’t rush art”

I think everybody can recall the quote from Toy Story 2. From the most satisfying part of the movie where we see a montage of Woody getting restored by a toy maker. It’s one of my favourites too, I absolutely loved looking at the different procedures used to fix a single toy. The toymaker’s precision and care were found mesmerizing by everyone. As a multi-hatted artist, one that can draw, sculpt, animate, and write, I can say that it’s spot on that there’s so much to do for a single piece of work. HOOO boy, you should see how me and Beefy are organizing Cursed to Charm, there’s so much.

For the upcoming webcomic, we design characters, give each and every one of them their stand-alone story, design different clothes, create the map, draw renders and posters, polish scripts for the episodes, plan to program the comic’s own website, make the backgrounds eventually, etc. To people who aren’t artists or take art for granted, to them, art is stroking a paper using a pen and BAM instant masterpiece. No no, it’s more than that.

Another thing I’d like to say about the comic is that the progress is very slow yet very fruitful because of the time taken. Me and my co-author came up with the idea at late November, which makes the comic four months old now. However, with all that time passed, we have already finalized the list of nine episodes of season one. We have also written seven out of nine summaries from that season before actually writing the dialogue in detail. We have a rough four seasons worth of story progression in the span of four months. Nyeh, excuse the little ramble about CtC, I’m just giving insight of how much should be done for the production of anything which leads us to the next point.

Art production in general.

Movies, animation, shows, video games, books, comics etc etc

All of these are part of art, some people would deny because it isn’t sophisticated like they’re lead to believe art is supposed to be. Art is literally just creation man, can’t get any simpler than that 😩 if you made something, then you made something woohoo! Congratulations you made art, cooking included. It came free with your fucking humanity.

Anyway, just like the webcomic, every single one of these listed also have a set of different procedures that will piece together the final output.

Let’s take Disney movies as a specific example, I want to talk about something real quick.

So one time, I was watching Tarzan with my parents and we stuck around for the end credits. My mom pointed out the animators are divided into sections and there’s so much names on them. There are different teams of animators for each character and these teams are divided in two for the storyboarders and the clean up artists. When the credits rolled a bit more, it showed that the background artists and colorists also have their own sections too. There’s so much people working on different body parts of a movie. I got the habit of reading end credits of every movie I watch, animated or live action, then I would compare the credits of old and new movies. Boy, let me tell you that the work space on old movies are FILLED compared to newer movies. One thing I noticed about Disney movies although, is that the old movies have more sections compared to new ones. The major difference of old Disney and new Disney are the length of the credits and the time gap of the movies. I’m really not trusting the way new movies have way shorter end credits while the publish time of new movies are getting narrower and narrower. Before the 2000s, movies usually come out twice a year and sometimes there’s a two-year hiatus before the next batch of movies are published. Now there’s at least two or three movies that publish yearly while also releasing a bunch of shows in the middle of it. I really don’t understand business talk with the way it sacrifices quality over quantity. Like I get having money is great and all but what’s the use of hoarding it? Especially when there’s so much news of people about to be in poverty and mass layoffs. Why should companies earn money if they’re not going to redistribute it back to the economy at all? This is a little off topic but I want to point it out that people in the 80s used to buy whole houses by being a janitor but nowadays people could barely afford a one room apartment even with three jobs. The Simpsons is an example of this because it was set in the 90s and the family is constantly reminded of how “poor” they are. They even created an episode that talks about the same job that supported people’s fathers will no longer support you nowadays (Poorhouse Rock ep22 s33). It’s fishy and I’m salty about it especially because I hear so much people complaining about how they’re not being given a chance to work. Anywho! Let’s go back to art.

I’m just spitballing my thoughts here but somehow they’re connecting either way. All I’m trying to say is that for the people who care so much about the quality of art, it’s noticeable that they get downgraded, not just by the look but by the way they’re written.

Example.

Clone High.

Jesus Christ, the new show is a nightmare and an insult to the original Clone High. The difference is clear with this one. The original Clone High was heavy satire of every single high school trope used in shows and movies. Every single character was meant to have one personality and that personality is the butt of the joke. The original did not care about making the characters appealing because the appeal is found in the way they interact, they clash so much and a lot of them are idiots. The writing is funny because the dialogue flows so easily unlike the renewal. The renewed Clone High takes itself too seriously and it tries too hard to be relevant. It’s funny to me that fans can draw the original’s art style more accurately than the animators hired. What’s even more frustrating is that concept art was released from the art head and the concept art looked way better than what they decided on the final designs. Other than the art style that tries to be marketable, the writing is insufferable with the way they try to be “relatable” without understanding why the original jokes were funny to begin with.

Now we’re all familiar with this cheap tactic of using the title of successful franchises to grab clicks and views. It’s every live action Disney film, it happened to Scooby Doo, Marvel shows, FNAF, some Cartoon Network shows, Megamind, and now even Kung Fu Panda. Basically MILKING. It would have been better if the productions TRIED to understand the original’s intentions which they forgot about. They ended up being disappointing at best and soulless at worst. I won’t be explaining much cuz I’ve already reached the minimum word count lmao. I’m just rambling here, I better not see anyone interrogate me in asks or replies. ANYWAY, I’m gonna get to the point real quick.

Back to the quote at the start of the post, people tend to forget that. Art is a skill, not a button people press and it gives you pretty pictures or videos. Art is a job and an effort. While art is subjective and it differs from person to person, one thing for certain is that art that is made ingenuinely will never be better than art that is made because the artist loves art. This is why the Tom & Jerry reboots with the lineless art style even if they had a storyboard artist who understood the cartoon wackiness (which were discarded for a “cleaner” and faster style). This is why it’s so frustrating to see concept art of movies which have more appeal than the final 3d models. This is why FNAF Security Breach was nearly unplayable.

Because they all rushed art.

They rushed in favour of what is marketable, no matter how unappealing it is. Everything could have been better, some final products are good, but all of them could have been better. As good as what were released pre 2010s when production had a passion. You can’t spell heart without art.

I’m just really passionate about art in any form since it’s everything that created me too. I will not be here at this point in time if it weren’t for me learning that there’s so much beauty in the world if you could just squint and appreciate why that’s so. I’m defined by my works and it only hurts and infuriates me that people who have the ability and accessibility to create better art than I do waste it for their personal gain or selfish intentions. Everyone could be a better person because of art just as it did to me. Again, it came to us the moment we’re born, art isn’t just a pretty picture, it’s everything we create out of love, passion, time, and effort.

But really, to the wise words of Chef Saltbaker, “like any good bake, heart and soul is the secret ingredient”

You can’t rush art.

Unnamed Touhou Fanwork Old Dream Glissando Update 3/Summary

(AKA Mentally preparing myself for the upcoming work ahead, also my longest update yet~)

Lots of good things in general here! Actually lots of things, period.

First of all: The title is up now!

I did lie about the "unnamed" a bit, considering I had Old Dream Glissando for a while (lol). I had other ones before, but I feel this one's both the shortest and the most meaningful for the plot...

...So, what is Old Dream Glissando about?

In summary, Old Dream Glissando is an action/adventure web manga series based on the Touhou Project franchise.

Set between TH5 and 6, it tells the story of main characters Reimu and Marisa, as they investigate the cause behind the recent drop in youkai sightings.

Their first clue: a human girl with the ability to heal through her erhu...

What to expect from ODG?

A bigger focus on the PC-98 era, which includes characters, abilities, locations and so on from TH1 to 5. Genre-wise, expect plenty of action too.

Windows Era characters most likely won't make an appearance, unless there is a logical or "lore-friendly" explanation to their earlier appearance.

Talking about lore: The story leans more toward PC-98 canon. That is to say, in ODG, most of what's said in PC-98 takes precedence over what's said in Windows.

However, this does not mean it will completely disregard everything the Windows era established.

My goal is not 100% accuracy — Rin Satsuki and all — but to nevertheless respect the later lore as much as the PC-98 era allows it. Marisa still knows who Rinnosuke is because she's known him since childhood, as one example...

Where will it be available?

On Tumblr and Pixiv alike! I talked a little about the posting process in the previous update, so to make it short:

I will first post the sketch versions of various pages as I work on the current chapter. This has various purposes: First, to gauge interest. Two, to tease what's about to happen next. And Three, for potential feedback as not everything is set in stone yet.

After completing the chapter, each page will be posted on bulks of 20, as that is the limit one can post at a time on this site.

All of this will be done not here, but rather in a blog dedicated to ODG! Said blog is still on the works, as I'm making sure non-Tumblr users get easy access to it. However, I will link to it as soon as it's ready.

On Pixiv, only the full version will be posted there. Although, there it will be all in one, single post given the larger amount of images one can upload at once (up to 200).

Lastly, for the Update part of this post: Chapter 1's storyboard is done!

And with it comes a slightly more bittersweet part: It's 72 pages long, which is even higher than the standard 50-60 pages most first chapters have.

Am I discouraged by this? Nah, not really! It's why I mentioned the posting process: So as to avoid leaving this project in the dark for too long.

Later chapters won't be as long either — limiting myself to up to 30 pages for those.

And so, I come in knowing I will spend the remainder of this year working on this chapter — posting updates while I also iron out the rest of the story.

I'm not setting myself any unrealistic deadlines (like of course I'm not doing this in a week lol), and I'm very aware this is a long term project. So the way I see it: Old Dream Glissando is a project I'll be chipping away day by day until it's finished.

Current thoughts on this project:

I'm having plenty of fun with it! Being a webcomic, it's pushing me into learning many new things, as well as exercising what I already know as an artist.

Likewise, limiting myself to Pre-Windows era Touhou means I get to play around with PC-98's quirks (No spellcards, Reimu can't fly and is more airheaded, etc...). As such, I made sure to add plenty of details about said era — some more obscure than others.

Once more updates begin rolling in, I hope people have fun finding said details, as I had fun writing them into the story...

Tl;Dr:

I'm making a Touhou manga set between PC-98 and Windows; It's a long-term project; It will be posted chapter-by-chapter on Tumblr (in its own blog) and Pixiv; Chapter 1's storyboard (script & panelling) is done; It's too long though, so I'll be posting WIP pages as I work the rest of the year on it.

Next update probably won't happen in a while, so see you next time!

status update ~

thought i'd write a summary of what I've been up to, and what's next art-wise! honestly, I'm finding that I work well mentally consolidating projects to quarters of the year; it gives me hard deadlines while allowing nuttiness to blow up two weeks (or more) of my life at a time and still not be stressed.

year recap first!

(Q1) collaborated with @/lululeighsworld to give gunter the fabulous possessed gacha entrance he deserves!! leigh's writing here to this day feels uncannily and perfectly in-character, no small feat with the mind games this devious possessed old man likes to play ~

(Q1) also finished the 140k your ruin, my ruin gunter/corrin revelation fic! the reception from y'all has been absolutely exceptional and while I don't think I'll ever write another fanfic of that length (lol) being able to point to it re: my fire emblem fates: revelation feelings is so ... satisfying. the ossan smut holds up pretty damn well too.

(Q1) NaZine (I) anthology printed and completely sold out, but the digital version is eternally available on the shop if you're still interested. I'll admit that anthologies are not normally my thing for being too prim and milquetoast, but this is anything but. if you've been dying for more sleazy uniform fetish, we got it there!

(Q2) Comics-wise, both Dead is Calling and YRMR:[Epilouge] were finished and ready to be collected in my planned gunter/corrin doujinshi called ashes and ghost; there's one more (eye-blistering smut) strip planned there with a few internal pages.

(Q3) Website-wise, IRON CROWN moved to rarebit from wordpress, and the main landing page was revamped entirely to better pave a road for preparations to self-host the website.

that's not even counting the smaller flash artwork like the fe: alphabet challenge, and hellsing exchange work also done in between everything else.

what's next?

(Q4) you might have seen me show wip's from a FE:Heroes (gacha) comic; while it's tonally softer than my usual work, It's 14-ish pages of some very, very guilty pleasure topics. raw feelings but in a different way? idk, you'll see.

(Q4) I have a personal deadline to get the website updates done by November, namely moving my art/update logs off of wordpress, and also likewise either moving to a different host or self-hosting the entire site (on a rasbpi lol) and removing the middle-man entirely.

(Q4/2025) finishing ashes and ghost (the gunter/corrin doujinshi)! I've been taking a needed break from it (something learned back in the webcomics days) but I can't wait to get back in some hentai level smut that's frankly, going to push me in so many ways. :D;;

(2025) NaZine II will likely be printed in the upcoming year with the same team heading it up. There's delicious stories already planned including multiple shotas and Daddies, oh my - needless to say, it's the kind of sleaze and sauce i dig.

Hey folks, Kuro here! It’s time for another update. Here’s everything you need to know about what we’ve been up to, and where we are going from here. 

DWAYNEMCDUFFIE.COM The biggest news of all is definitely Dwayne McDuffie’s website relaunching. A surplus of scripts, production information, and series bibles were posted, and it’s literally a dream come true for me. Reading through the forums was part of my daily routine for years growing up, and after his passing, losing the website really hit home. I’ve been waiting a decade for it to relaunch, but when it did, I had already planned to go out of town for a few days, so the timing was terrible on my end.

Let me tell ya, watching everyone dig through the website while I couldn’t participate in the madness was tough, but now that I’m back, I can’t wait to dig into it as well and see what I can find. We’ll definitely be doing at least one video on the subject. As for when that’s coming out, I couldn’t say. But please feel free to let us know if there’s anything specific you’d like us to address, and you can guarantee I’ll be taking notes! Thank you Dwayne for still keeping our world turning after all this time.

UPCOMING VIDEOS & COLLABS

In previous updates, I’ve announced another upload hiatus. This means that we won’t be posting weekly/ bi-weekly for the time being. We will be releasing videos irregularly, such as the recent MultiVersus video, and the previously-mentioned Dwayne McDuffie Website video, but we can’t make any promises as to when we’ll resume regular uploads. There’s just too much going on for us at the moment, which I will get into further into this thread. In the meantime, I’ve been making a lot of guest appearances on other channels, and still have a few more lined-up. So keep your eyes peeled! I’ll do my best to pop up around the fandom where I can. 

5 YEARS LATER & AND BEYOND

These are our two biggest projects, and thus, have the most updates already, so I’ll keep it brief. 5YL Episodes 10 and 11 will be releasing together, and are quickly escalating down the pipeline. Patrons and YouTube Members have frequent check-ins, and we’re thrilled that the series has come so far. Even if you’ve already seen the webcomic version, you’re not gonna believe what we’ve pulled off for this version of the series!

Unfortunately, Ash was hit with an illness that kept him out of commission for a few weeks. But the cogs are now turning again for AB Episode 13. We’re happy he’s back on his feet, and we’ll be on another extraterrestrial adventure before you know it!

BEN 10 BREAKDOWNS

Breakdown production has obviously halted due to our hiatus, but I still feel the need to address it again, as it’s one of the biggest hits and longest-running series of our channel. I may sound like a broken record to those that keep up with our posts, but for those that don’t, I want to reiterate my love for making the Breakdowns. These other projects taking priority does not conclude that I dislike making those video anymore, or that the Ben 10 Breakdowns are canceled. One way or another, I am determined to finish this series, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of my thoughts on Omniverse and the Reboot with the community.

Recently, I have been streaming on multiple platforms during my Drawing with Kuro broadcasts. You can still find me every Tuesday on Twitch @ 2:00pm EST, but I am also broadcasting to Instagram and Facebook, too. THE FUTURE OF THE INK TANK

5 Years Later & And Beyond have been a huge part of our journey. Even after those projects are completed, I don’t see us ever dropping Ben 10 content as a whole. Though naturally, we will gravitate more towards other projects, including original works and IPs. I am happy to say that production has already begun after receiving some exciting news. 

My plan was to plant the seeds for our future as 5YL comes to the end, and then only prioritize it when the timing is right. But unexpectedly, we’ve been given an opportunity to enter a new avenue that would be detrimental to let fall through the cracks, and thus, we’ve spent the past few months curating a super secret project that will now be a part of our regular work schedule going forward. If this sounds vague, that’s intentional, but my hands are tied! I don’t know when I’ll be able to let everyone in on the secret. 

I’m not a fan of stretching ourselves further than necessary, especially if it keeps ya’ll waiting on the projects we already have in the pipeline. Though “What will you do when 5 Years Later is over?” has been a popular recurring question for years, and now I finally have an answer - I just can’t tell you yet! But it’s important for me to let you know that despite the large amount of content we’re working on that you’re aware of, there’s much more going on behind the scenes. So rest assured, we are ALWAYS working on something, whether or not we’re able to give updates.

Thank you so much aaa <33 I do have plenty of those! I realize I actually don't talk about the details much despite the story being completely fleshed out, I just post art of them sometimes jfkldgj. To make up for it, I wrote down quite a few!! :D

Faris headcanons hooray!!

When they first met, Ateris absolutely STANK omg... like wandering around in Evenere did not do him any favours and his clothes were already old and tattered and who knows when bro had bathed last. He was just kind of vibing. One of the first things she did when she took him back was get him a bath and change of clothes LMAO. Once they were friends, she later ends up commissioning someone to tailor him a new set of clothing, which is his main outfit in his redesign! Besides decorating him with obvious Evenerean fabrics, she intentionally had the hair accessory referenced off of her own crown as an extension of her authority (essentially telling her militia to back off / he is not a threat).

Early on in their friendship, Ateris protected her from an assassination attempt since he happened to be with her at the time and their friendship was a secret among a select few, so the assassin never had intel for such an anomaly. He realizes that he actually would prefer that this human does not die, so he swore he'd accompany her for her lifetime (not a big deal for him, since he's essentially immortal, but in hindsight she found it quite romantic LOL). Fareeda is a beloved and kind queen, so who would do such a thing? This is an overarching plot in their relationship as they try to uncover the would-be usurper and discover the moles among her queensguard, and it gets covered a little bit in my OCs main story (so it will be included in my upcoming webcomic). She does end up getting tutored by someone else in improving her self-defense (personally I headcanon that she was at least somewhat trained with weapons already simply due to Evenere's environment seemingly almost requiring self-defense, but she wouldn't be as familiar with assassin's dirty tricks). At times Ateris would help by acting as a would-be assassin since he's skilled with blades, though he never uses his magic against her. Obviously that training was not in preparation for an unrelated smoky assassin though oops

She introduced him to a lot of Evenere's culture, from their foods to the arts and their way of life in their isolated kingdom. He especially liked the food part! There's a little twinkle in his eye anytime a meal is served.

Because of the above though, he ended up learning to enjoy the downtime of reading with a snack. He still finds some of the fiction novels strange though. Fareeda loaned him her favourite book to read while he was overseas in Xadia (after her death, he could never bring himself to read the final chapter).

Besides some of Fareeda's closest queensguard learning of him after the earlier assassination attempt, Ateris' existence is largely unknown in Evenere and he keeps to himself. There were rumours that Fareeda had a possibly elven friend, but most assume it's unfounded (I headcanon that Evenere is more lax with elves due to their isolation (low influence from other kingdoms), so they typically don't actually care beyond curiosity. Though it being a Startouch elf is a well-kept secret).

She fell first, he fell harder. They have a bit of a will they, won't they relationship that ends up being unfulfilled due to events in canon, but his time with her still influences him greatly once they're apart.

While she just came to love him over time, there is actually a specific moment that Fareeda realized that she had fallen in love with him, which I will eventually illustrate <3

Ateris is always very gentle with her and gives affectionate gestures, but he doesn't really understand that he does these because he has romantic interest in her, since he's never fallen in love before (and for reasons in the past, it used to be impossible for him). Much like Fareeda having a moment where she knew she really loved him, there is a moment Ateris realizes what his feelings for her were as well, though it was far too late.

Fareeda knows most of Ateris' personal backstory, even if she doesn't quite understand all of it, especially about his "former self".

Over a couple centuries, Ateris amassed quite a few antiques. Fareeda just so happens to love trinkets and baubles, so many of them finally found a home with her. Notably Mira's amulet was given to her, though whether or not it helped her the way it did in the animatic depends on the timeline (though personally if they never do anything in canon that makes the animatic's story impossible, I might make the animatic's story part of my canon timeline).

Fareeda loves the Evenerean wildlife in all its terrors and wonders, even if some are very unapproachable in which she will appreciate them from a respectable distance. Ateris happens to be able to connect with quite a few of them (especially if they are connected to the Earth arcanum). This is great for Fareeda because he soothes critters and she gets to hang out with them win/win

When Ateris had to leave her side to go to Xadia for unfinished business, she gives him an heirloom of hers, a dragonfly necklace that he may return to her once his journey ends. It ends up being his most treasured belonging.

Since I don't know how long Fareeda has been queen or her exact age, I keep the exact year they met a bit vague (I like to think they would've met in her earlier years as queen, but if she became queen as a child then uhhhh no LMAO). However, they've spent a long time together. Unfortunately, though they were close to finally saying "I love you", their time was ultimately cut short.

GLITCH HUNTERS: is a show about a pair of best friends, Strange Weird (Michael Norton) and Scene Eden ( @jiinglespurs ) working as government contractors to help everyday people against Glitches they encounter while living inside a simulation! They work directly under the evil and corrupt ONE World Government President, Booker (Mark Philipp), that runs a blatantly illegal and criminal infested Wrestling promotion on tax dollars. Scene, the Glitch Hunters' muscle, uses the World Heavyweight Championship as leverage to blackmail Booker for continuous funding. One night Strange met and falls in love with Cakes (Ashely Vartorella), a demon from another dimension, an S-Level glitch, and after he begins questioning the entire reason he he does his job.
