Knowing Leif Pollock, the famous artist, was here, Nancy could not miss the opportunity to serve her esteemed guest. "Hello hello!!! It's an honour to have you dine with us again Leif and Daphne! And your wonderful guests today," Nancy beamed at everyone and then made introductions with her new visitors.

Soon after, the table was making amiable chatter with the head chef, with Bryce in particular, relishing his surrounding atmosphere. "This place is beautiful chef! How long have you been running the restaurant?"

"Thank you so much! Oh not long actually, it's only been a month," Nancy recalled. "My fiancé's parents recently retired and have passed down the restaurant to us. We had plans to locate in Tartosa and start a business there, but we decided to stay here. To continue our legacy."

Nancy looked around the dining area, enthralled by yet another magical evening due to her supervision. Castillons was where she embarked on her journey as a professional chef after graduating from culinary school. And now she is its proud owner along with her love, Hugo. "It's my dream come true to own a restaurant…and this place, it's quite special to me."

After recommending some specialties for dessert, Nancy wished the party a pleasant night and returned to the kitchen.

Note: IT'S NANCY'S RESTAURANT!! 🤭 Did you see this coming? I thought it would be a clue to say Bistro here, which you could link to Hugo as he is French. The lore is that Castillons is a bistro (first opened by Hugo's grandfather) turned restaurant by his parents! But this post was the first thing I thought of once completing the backstory (we got there in the end). I was like I need to introduce Nancy's restaurant in some way and what better opportunity than this ☺️ It was Nancy's dream to open/run a restaurant, so I wanted to make this a special place by building it myself. It took a while because I hadn't done the interior and lately, I keep on having a lack of motivation. I have so many ideas, just no mood or inspo to play. (I kept forcing myself to make the post or scroll simblr but it always tired me out, making me unproductive. But I gave it time and inspo came itself.)

Hey geologists I need a bit of help with my worldbuilding.

So I'm adding dwarves to my setting but not your typical short stubby fleshy dudes. But rather short stubby rocky dudes. There are three types of dwarves upper crust, mid crust, and lower crust. They grow at different levels in the earth's crust and are made out of different rocks depending on what's available at that level. Like if they're closer to the surface they're made out of rocks and gems and such that naturally grow at that level.

Small issue though I have no idea what grows- forms? At those different levels farther or closer to the surface and I also don't know in what amounts. What's rare and what's common? I imagine diamonds don't grow in the same place as amethyst.

If you guys could help me out it would be much appreciated!

P.s. I did try googling it first but I couldn't find anything.

P.p.s. a visual representation like a rock map or something would be nice but is not required.

P.p.p.s. please don't be mean to me I'm not an expert on rocks I don't know exactly what to search for which is why I'm asking for help.

Happy to talk about it!! I’m still working out the details, but here is some more info about this AU!

BASIC PREMISE: When the source dragons face unavoidable extinction, the main six ninja are made their predecessors.

(Note: I haven’t seen s3pt2, so if there are spoilers that contradict this AU, please refrain from telling me)

It is set in a hypothetical future where Ras’s grand plans included capturing and draining every source dragon to reverse the merge and release his master, which he successfully did… much to the detriment of everyone else.

The source dragons mortal forms were inflicted with wasting disease, and the intense drain on their power weakened them.

Knowing the source dragons were not long for this world, and that the un-merging realms would collapse in on themselves in their wake, Lloyd offered to become more than a conduit to one of their powers, so that it might live on in him. Although warned it would fundamentally alter his body and mind, he insisted.

The other ninja stepped up to offer themselves to the cause, as well. Each one of them was gifted the powers of a source dragon.

Lloyd: Life || Nya: Flow || Kai: Motion || Focus: Zane || Strength: Cole || Energy: Jay

All of their bodies were physically altered into dragons/conceptual beings, except for Zane; his soul was drawn from his android body, which was left behind under Pixal’s care.

The ‘source ninja’ defeated Ras and restored the merged realms.

❗️All of the ninja except Lloyd had their memories altered/lost in the transformation, making them believe they’d always been source dragons. Lloyd kept his memories due to being part dragon/oni and already having been a conduit.

Lloyd visits the merged realms frequently and attempts to convince his companions to do the same, explaining what their previous lives were like and attempting to jog their memories. Though not always receptive to this, some of the other ninja do start to come around to the idea when glimpses of their old lives break through.

Once they are no longer mortal, their powers must go to a new host. Lloyd choses to gift his powers to Arin, Zane gifts his to Pixal, Cole gifts his to Fritz, Nya gifts hers to Spitz, Kai gifts his to Jake, and Jay– not trusting his current fuzzy memories as is– allows his to be selected at random.

I’m currently working on a fic where Zane regains his memories with Pixal’s help, and I hope to write/draw more for it in general! Feel free to send me any questions and I’ll do my best to answer heheh

I can’t decide if Noel Noa would have cold hands or warm hands.

I wanna lean towards cold but imagine his hands were always warm, even from childhood. All those nights spent without the proper protection from the elements, his best source of warmth sometimes became his own two palms.

Pressing them against his face and his neck, trying to focus on their warmth and not the cold biting at his feet. He would cover his ears for long periods of time until they felt warm enough for him. Imagine if this became a comfort gesture to him- you could spot him warming up on the field with one of his hands rubbing and resting on his neck. What if he does it so often that it becomes normal for his teammates to see but they don’t question it.

You would always rub his hands together, bathing them in the warmth that your palms provided. Its late spring, the weather so far has been the warmest it has this year. Still, his hands remain he same. Cold as ever. You press kisses to them while taking note of the cracks along his knuckles. He hasn’t moisturized yet today.

Normally Noel is devoted to taking care of his body. If he let himself succumb to the trap that is ‘rotting’ he would never be able to perform as perfect as he needs to.

You like to intertwine your hand in his and shove it into your coat pocket. He might gaze at you with a slight questionable expression, but he generally doesn’t try to fight you on it. It’s warm with you.

Victorian sensation novels my beloved.

They're like Gothic fiction with a sense of humor.

Mysteries, but less methodical.

They're over-the-top drama with with memorable characters dealing with the craziest stuff you've ever seen.

They don't make them like that anymore.

How do you plan out what to put in what chapter? Do you write a summary about what happens in each chapter to decide how long it should be? Or just scenes? Do you write out a different chapter instead of the next one when the mood strikes?

TL;DR, all prominent scenes/events are blocked out into the chapter outline ahead of time, and are usually dictated by the episodes that came before, during, or after that particular chapter (but we know i like to remix episode events themselves too). Scenes are sometimes moved around if a) something isn't working flow-wise or b) chapter's got too much going on, lmao or c) gets added if the chapter needs something to tie it all together, or a scene fits better somewhere else thematically

...but funny you should ask given that I've hit an organizational crisis with this next upcoming arc and have resorted to using a table to organize my events (not a normal occurrence for me but I was DESPERATE):

...but otherwise, for specific chapters, there is a general summary and/or "throughline" for the events to come. Either it's a series of things that 'need' to happen at that particular point in time (i.e. B3Ch10/11), or its a series of relevant events tied together with a single theme (B2Ch23 comes to mind with the 'rumor' theme, or B3Ch13 with the GarmaFam all having personal crises despite all being miles apart hgfdfds. And small spoiler, but Ch17's throughline is relationships~! ;3)

(I'd show you my actual chapter outline, but y'know, spoilers. Plus I really do change a lot cuz my first go-through is rarely what I stick with. Juuust gives me the foundation to build off of!)

I never 'decide' how long as chapter is either, it just happens! IDEALLY I'd never write a chapter longer than 8k lmao, BUT if I constantly chopped up my chapters, not only would I lose a lot of flow and momentum, I'd also never reach the end of the story T-T)9 Some arcs would end up twice as long, man!

That being said, I do try to keep each chapter to no more than 5 dedicated scenes. Sometimes there's 3 big ones, sometimes there's 4 mixed-matched sized ones, sometimes I have to bite the bullet and do six, but 5 is usually my go-to to get in everything I need without going overboard or having to cut something out. (nevermind that Ch16 technically had six scenes, but I count the big official battle as one. I consider it a special exception ;P)

...and hence my need for the table above to balance out some resulting pacing issues and to figure out how restructure some things so its not as cluttered (cuz 17/18 were very busy and 19 very much was NOT) (buuuut I think I got it as we speak!)

But if the mood strikes for a different chapter and/or I get hit with inspiration for a later scene, I absolutely go write it down asap!! Almost every significant moment is already penned out to some degree, but when I'm daydreaming of the future really hard I'll just go ahead and put some work in for future stuff. Less work to do later on, and I can always switch it up if I gotta! And having something to already go off of is infinitely easier than having to start from scratch!

(...I mean, I wrote all but the fight scene in Ch16 before Ch14 and Ch15 were finished, so, y'know, take that as you will jhghfdgfd)

The Entity seem to have mind altering capabilities, for staring into the Eyes of the thing causes the victim who stared to enter a phase of obedience towards the Entity, doing everything and anything the Entity wants, mind washing and controlling the individual. In most circumstances, The Entity seems to make the Individuals rip their own head off, with the reasoning for doing this being assumed to be Entertainment.

The Entity seems to worship and believe itself to be a Goddess, actively calling itself such and referring to Visitors of the Place as "Mortals" and "Lessers", having aggressive and narcissistic tendencies, The Entity is highly prone to attack and kill anyone it deems as a lesser.
