I'm just thinking about if akira was able to pull akechi out when the doors closed in the engine room

they manage to get him out of shido's palace and he can't go back to his apartment, so akechi needs to stay in hiding in akira's room at leblanc

sojiro still has a soft spot for akechi, so of course he let's him stay. how could he say no when akechi is all alone, and looks like he was hit by a truck ("just what did you kids get yourselves into?")

they have takemi come over to check on him, and a couple of the others drop some things off for them

but now akira and akechi are confined to akira's room together and have to talk out their issues

he is so certain about who he is ("i can only be me" "well? this is me!") but everything about him is fake. every mask he shows is an exaggeration of himself. the pleasant prince exists within him yet he claims it is entirely fake and that he is a violent murderer, but that's not his ENTIRE self. for a fact. robin is a manifestation of his true self as well as loki is. the snarling monster is just as real as the just superhero. he wants nothing to do with true justice because he can't believe in it, can't believe in the system that let his mother die and harmed him all his life, a system he can so easily abuse to gain empty love now, to watch his wretched father use for his own gain. yet, throughout his entire life, he followed his own justice, he may not embody what society deems as justice but he does embody that arcana - his goal, at the end of the day, if you really look at it, was to harm those who harm others. does that not sound like something robin hood would do? most people he killed were corrupt or distorted in some way - after all, they all had a shadow in mementos or even an entire palace (also, other than wakaba, as far as we know they were all powerful or influential people like politicians or businessmen. hard to NOT get corrupted like that). doesn't that make him a rightful phantom thief as well? going against what society deems right, taking justice and the law into his own hands, harming people in positions of power so they stop harming others. this is why he could even awaken to a persona in the first place, after all. his rebellion burns so bright that during the third semester he does the best job getting joker back into reality and pushing him to rebel again, to make things right, to not sit in comfort and let everyone's true selves get erased for fake happiness. it's all thanks to him clinging to his true self, even if only in his subconscious, even when he won't admit it to himself. he adorns his masks but his true self won't change. because he is so certain about who he is. i can only be me, so.

Hear me out.

P5R, the story going as usual BUT at one point during Sae’s palace it turns into a disaster movie scenario where the PT including Goro get stuck in a building during a big earthquake. Akira and Goro get stuck together and have to find their way out of the rubble while also being injured and dealing with little quakes and aftershocks.

They think they might die there so Goro actually confesses to being the black mask and the entire plan to kill Akira. Akira tells him that he knows and everything he and the PT were planning and they laugh at the absurdity of their situation.

They also confess that they both might be having a little crush on each other because they think there is no getting out anyway.

That’s when they’re rescued and reunited with the rest of the PT. After healing up, they become the best power couple planning Shido’s downfall together.

hi anon!!!! have you seen this post yet? i shared some of my ideas there and am currently working on fleshing out the rest. here are some quick fun facts though! (because honestly most of the interesting bits happen on akira’s end of the game and late in the story that im plotting!! and i havent managed to figure it all out yet 😭)

akira has a cat named merlin. she’s a really pretty ragdoll kitty that he adopted because he misses morgana a lot

early in p5r when sojiro is stuck in traffic after visiting shujin academy, he brings up a really bad car accident that happened two weeks ago. in the au, he still brings it up, but he mentions too that luckily both girls weren’t injured thanks to a kid he knows.

wakaba and futaba both live with sojiro and frequently hang out at the cafe. it seems too that the entire leblanc family is very well acquainted with the detective prince that often visits too.

the velvet room is unaffected by the time reset! meaning that lavenza is currently the sole attendent rather than the twin wardens. however, the real igor seems to still be absent (not that goro knows the difference).

you can safely assume that at least 50% of the times the phantom thieves are in a palace, akira is tailing them from behind. and if it’s important days like stealing the treasure, he is definitely just around the corner.

goro visits shido’s palace very early in the game and meets white mask when he is there.

new code names! goro is now ace, leader of the phantom thieves. sumire is still violet but she gets an outfit change. kasumi’s code name is swan.

aside from joker palace, there will be at least one other new palace.

some of the confidants are now different due to timeline changes! i’m still figuring out the details of who and how though.

goro eventually gets a job at the jazz jin as a bartender because he is permanently banned from the leblanc kitchen by sojiro

Kazuma Kiryu

He's doing his best not to just flip a table over, honestly. Kiryu tries really hard to not fit that yakuza stereotype of unleashing physical anger when he's upset, but he is REALLY upset by the news.

Once the initial reaction of anger cools, Kiryu just feels lost. There are few things he values more than his loved ones and even if you're safe in a hospital and in stable condition, he won't stop worrying about you.

Blames himself for not being there for you. Will sit silently in a chair in your hospital room, head in his hands, just kicking himself. When you wake up, he honestly might cry.

Majima Goro

Immediately starts freaking out. What happened? Who was involved? Whose ass does he need to kick? He'll immediately drop everything and be on his way to wherever you are, probably with all of the Majima Family in tow just in case a fight breaks out.

If police or hospital staff get involved before he does, he will demand answers to his questions. He won't rest until he finds out exactly what went down. He seems irrational during all of this but in actuality he's trying to rationalize everything in his head. He's wondering if something could've been done to prevent this.

Paces outside your hospital door like a watchdog. When you wake up, he'll practically leap to your side, taking your hands into his gloved hands, happily crying out about how glad he is to see you.

Saejima Taiga

The most level headed boy, honestly. When he hears the news, he will be on his way to you immediately, silent and focused. He has his own questions he wants answered but his priority is to make sure you're safe and in a place where you can recover.

Brings you meals in the hospital and even feeds you if your injuries are that serious. Helps you bathe and brings you fresh clothes from home. Always wait until you fall asleep before he does.

It's only when you're healthy enough to start caring for yourself more that he starts investigating what happened and starts to look for answers. He thinks it would be too risky to do so while you're in recovery, as he fears something bad will happen again if he leaves your side to selfishly pursue his own questions.

Akiyama Shun

He's just in shock. Unlike most of the boys, Akiyama is just a civilian so he honestly didn't think much of anything bad would happen to either of you. If he's at work when he gets the news, he'll tell Hana to hold down the office and take care of business while he throws his coat on and rushes out the door.

Very respectful to hospital staff. He knows freaking out won't help anyone, although he is still freaking out internally. Likely won't be able to sleep or eat much the first night after hearing the news.

Will absolutely bring you flowers. Perhaps TOO many flowers. He just wants you to wake up feeling safe and loved. Will also have Hana order you any food you desire for delivery.

Tanimura Masayoshi

He's furious he wasn't able to protect you. His police coworkers will honestly have to hold him back from rushing the scene. They know if he saw the condition you were in, he would just burst into tears. Secretly, he knows that too, but he also wants nothing more than to be by your side as soon as he can.

If your injuries were in any way not accidental, you can bet that Tanimura will pull any strings he can at work to make sure he can get to the bottom of whatever happened. Won't rest until he knows you are definitely and entirely safe from harm.

Will totally bring his own blanket, pillow, and toothbrush to the hospital. He's very much like "I'm staying right here!" in your room. Very much your own personal bodyguard during your hospital stay.

Ryuji Goda

Immediately in his private car and on his way to the hospital. Very organized and has some men out looking for answers and a couple of men guarding your room, just in case. Will spend the most to make sure you get the very best treatment.

Chances are, Ryuji's thinking someone did this to get to him and if that ends up being true, revenge is definitely on his mind. However, he will wait to act on it until he knows the full details of what happens and until he knows you're in stable condition.

Brings you lots of soups and teas. Totally believes that warm drinks and warm meals will heal you just as well as modern medicine will. Type of guy to tell you stories until you fall asleep.

Nishikiyama Akira

He is a total and complete mess. A wreck, really. He's not taking the news well at all and is not even trying to hide it at this point. After what he went through with his sister, he can't even begin to fathom the possibility of going through the same thing again with you.

Frantic as hell and honestly is just having a full blown anxiety attack until he knows you're in the clear and will recover. Will absolutely burst into tears when he gets this news and is so happy to know he won't lose you.

Also will cry when he first sees you wake up and might hug you a bit too tight, but it's just because he's genuinely so glad that you're okay. He's also the least likely of the boys to care about revenge or getting answers right away, he just wants you to be safe.

Mine Yoshitaka

He's freaking out about the same amount as Nishiki except he is trying VERY hard to keep it internal. His logical nature means he's going to try to rationalize the panic he's feeling. However, he will absolutely air out his feelings on his punching bag at home.

The most patient boy. If you're in surgery for hours on end, he'll wait in the waiting room without moving. If you're asleep in your hospital room, he's right there with you, nodding off in a chair. Refuses to leave your side.

Puts all of his work on hold until he knows you're awake and safely recovering. His secretary will try to gently push him to call people back only for him to just turn his phone off. Work can wait.

Daigo Dojima

Blames himself more than anything. He's always felt in his gut that his lifestyle and work would one day gets his loved ones hurt. He can only hope this was an accident and that you didn't get put in harm's way simply by being with him. He ultimately feels selfish and like he wasn't good enough to protect you.

If your injuries were intentionally caused by someone looking to harm Daigo, he has the whole Tojo Clan on the case. Meanwhile, he'll personally see to it that you get the best care, the best room in the hospital, the works.

Once you're well enough to go home, he's practically your maid. Will do anything for you and get you anything you need. For a while, he probably will refuse to let you go anywhere without him because he fears something bad will happen if he's gone.

Tatsuo Shinada

A blubbering mess. He's just some writer who used to be a baseball player, why the hell would anything like THIS ever happen to someone like him? He has no idea what to do except sit in the hospital room and wait nervously, probably bouncing his leg or biting his nails.

Bursts into tears the first time he sees how bad your injuries on. It isn't that he finds you disgusting or anything like that, he's just so heartbroken to see you in so much pain. He honestly won't be able to speak for the first few hours once the news breaks.

Type of guy to hold your hand while you're laying in your hospital bed. Will totally fall asleep sitting in a chair with his hand still in yours, his head resting against the edge of your bed. Brings his laptop on his hospital visits so he can work while in the room with you so he can pay your hospital bills as best as he can.

ohhhh if akira endorses phantom thieves since day 1 i wonder how the okumura's murder affects his popularity! i guess it wouldn't tank with medjed like akechi's did but it would take a big blow after the whole "public thinks thieves kill people" huh..... but also the thieves (sans goro) would probably trust akira even more if he didn't backtrack on his words and continued to support them in public....... god your swap!au is so delicious!! i love all the little changes that snowball and paint a completely different picture <33

so factoid: he does slip up with the sushi comment, but ryuji and ann don't actually notice. goro and morgana are the only one who caught it.

ann and ryuji think that they just misremembered, especially because they don't remember him saying it at all (i always thought it was odd that ryuann picked up on princekechi's slip up considering how much the game loves to remind us that theyre not very observant)

goro is the only one out of all the phantom thieves that continues being suspicious of akira. even morgana eventually convinces himself that he just heard akira wrong. the phantom thieves wanted to include akira in from freakin madarame but since goro never allowed it (+ unanimous rule), he never joined until sae.

the phantom thieves all think that goro's being petty since he has a Thing going on with akira

Also, akira doesn't kill okumura!

he injures his shadow severely as he's returning to his real self, so he does induce a coma so that by the time okumura wakes up, his revenge (yes hes planning revenge) on shido will have been completed and there will be no repercussions for him to face after okumura confesses his crimes.

plus okumura becoming comatose would still backfire on the phantom thieves' popularity severely, especially since some mental shutdown victims do survive, but just become a vegetable (like ohya's journalist friend). the public would assume that okumura has also suffered a mental shutdown by the phantom thieves, though his mind is just repairing itself from the damage akira's done to his shadow

akira mostly lets him live because of his bond with haru—spoiler slight not spoiler he's familiar with losing family, no matter how distant, so he refuses to be the one to rob haru of her opportunity for an actual, happy family.

akira ends up joining the phantom thieves when they're at their very lowest, and when he's at his lowest; the phantom thieves sans goro agree to let him in immediately.

It's the P4 raising P5 au which I'm tagging under that name from now on I gave up on shortening it

Makoto took a long time to figure out zippers. So she'd be seen at school during recess running around with her coat open, claiming she wasn't cold. Haru eventually figures it out and until Makoto learns how, she does it for her

Kid fashion. Kid. Fashion. Ryuji with the plaid cargo shorts. The electric colours. Futaba with a shirt that says something cheesy about gaming. Haru with My Little Pony sneakers. Joker in little polo shirts with Featherman characters on them or something just. Yusuke with Lobster mittens. Ann with so many hair ties and GrL PowEr themed items. Makoto with the Buchimaru hat and backpack and belt and socks-

New Papa Naoto afraid to fall asleep with the baby because of the whole Rolling Over thing, so Rise constantly found him struggling to stay awake while little Makoto dozed off against his chest

Makoto's still afraid of the dark. So on stormy nights when her nightlight would lose power, she'd run into her parents' room and huddle between them. Rise would hum sleepily while finger combing through short brown hair, until the shaking stops, and Naoto would bundle his daughter against him, to hide her away from anything that could hurt her

God. They just. The little Shirogane family,,

Morgana is a normal cat in this, Akira finds him on the way home from school when he's like 10, so like about a year before Goro comes to Inaba, and Yu helps him convince Yosuke that they should keep him

Chie keeps bringing home the most mutt-ratchet fucking dogs. Yukiko can't say no when Ryuji and Ann team up with their Moma to convince her. At one point they have up to 4 mutt fucking dogs

Okay hear me out for this one. Ryuji and Makoto doin their usual thing, running around in the rain, before Makoto slips and it turns into shoving and muddy pushing on the ground

Ann, 12, sighs and shakes her head under the gazebo. "Ugh, those meatheads. At least Makoto's smart sometimes, right?"

"huh? Y-yeah, sure." And Haru, 13, averts her eyes because, something weird is happening in her chest. She's been feeling weird around her best friend, and it's worse when she smiles at her and holds her hand on their way to school. She looks up and, maybe it starts to click, watching Makoto laugh as Ryuji spits mud from his mouth.

Maybe, she's falling for Makoto?

On the other end of things, Makoto's kinda. Always known. Haru's been special to her for a while, there was no one moment. But she rambles to Ryuji about it, and to her Mama, and her Papa, even to Ann at some point. It's not as big a thing for her

They all eat lunch on the roof at Yasogami. Up there they can be as loud as they want, and no one really bothers them

Just. The older IT having monthly dinners together while Nanako agrees to watch the kids all together or something just. Laughing about the good old times, still together all those years later despite it all

And. Both Yoshizawa twins being alive. The crash injured both but they both made it.

OH. THERES ONE LITTLE GOOFY BIT I HAVE ITS

Futaba has a Minecraft girlfriend. It's Sumire. Neither of them know that they're friends irl it's. Supposed to be a little goofy haha thing

I think an AU where Goro just turns into a literal crow is actually so hilarious and adorable. Imagine someone just stumbling across this puffed up, angry little creature. Sure, crows are known to be very smart and can create solid bonds with humans to bring them the shinies. But there's just something about this little fella that seems too aggressive for no reason. They'd leave the bird alone if not for seeing that it's a bit injured. (Perhaps it's all just Metaverse fuckery. Could you imagine finding out Goro's alive via smol injured crow??? Wild.) And mind you Goro is an absolute nightmare to whoever feels strong enough to deal with a big attitude in a small package. He has a beak after all, he's not afraid to use it. But one day he starts to realize that he's actually safe. He's truly alive and there's no more dealing with Shido. It's as draining as it is comforting. That thought takes everything out of him and for the first time since being taken into their care Goro is docile. Still a little standoff-ish mind you, but not ready to lash out and is able to relax. (Imagine little birb puddles where he just kinda melts into himself as he sleeps all floofed up.) One day he'll get to be human again. But until then he can be a birb.

oh shit i should probably elaborate on that engine room thing huh--ok so um p5 spoilers

basically the scene goes on as normal up until the point where cognitive goro's about to shoot real goro. at that point asuka has an "OH FUCK" moment and throws a molotov cocktail at cognitive goro, setting his ass on fire, but the splash damage also gets to real goro, specifically his right shoulder area. so his already injured ass is on fire too.

so you think "damn that's sad" well I'M ABOUT TO MAKE IT WORSE CUZ THAT'S NOT ALL

so while that's going on either a shard from the bottle hits the button that shuts the room's door (or goro still shoots it, which he probably could despite his state) so the scene still plays out as normal except part of goro's on fire this time around

so. goro's signal still disappears.

and asuka's convinced she killed him. or at least that his death was her fault.

what are your predictions for the onk ending?

My predictions for the OnK ending are mostly based on what I think the story's Big Themes (tm) are: everyone has damage and nobody heals alone. Aqua's pursuit of revenge is not an admirable or aspirational thing and the main tension of this last heft of the story should be understood to be not "will Aqua get his revenge?" but "can Aqua be stopped before he gets his revenge?"

With that said, here's my broad strokes guesses:

Filming 15YL will allow Ruby to sort through her Mom Trauma and she will emerge from the other side with a better relationship with herself and Aqua

15YL will draw Kamiki out and he and Aqua will have a confrontation

Aqua will have the opportunity to kill Kamiki but will be yanked back from the point of no return by the people who care about him

The series will end with the new B-Komachi fulfilling Ruby's promise to have them perform at the dome

More specific guesses:

Aqua and Ruby are going to have A Talk where Aqua shatters Ruby's shoujo rose colored glasses about Goro's reincarnation and she'll be forced to have a long dark night of the soul like we briefly were teased with while she was breaking down under the pressure of the 15YL schedule. They will emerge on the other side as family.

Kamiki will specifically target Kana after the release of 15YL and she will be either injured or attacked in such a way that parallels Ai's death but she will be saved.

And these are... I'm still going to call them guesses, but they're so specific that I'm kind of in a gray area of "I think this might happen" and "I am not expecting this to happen" so call them my tinfoil hat theories LMAO

Kana will replace Ruby as the lead actress of 15YL. This means that Kana will be playing the role of Ai and Aqua will be playing Ryosuke, thus paralleling and complimenting their roles in Sweet Today.

Kana will choose to play Ai as "forgiving" her killer. Aqua, who has carried the guilt and self hate of thinking himself complicit in Ai's murder for all these years, will have a moment of incredible catharsis at experiencing that forgiveness and stumble into the realization that his self destruction is not something that would have made Ai happy.

Possibly relatedly but perhaps separately: Aqua will finally get to a point in his feelings about Ai where he will at last call her "Mom". This is the one I'm most confident about because the fact that he's never called her that really feels like it's absolutely primed and waiting for it to be a hugely emotional moment once he finally does.

There will be no more major character deaths (save Kamiki) but I do think it's possible that if anyone DOES die, then it will be Ichigo Saitou. He's just important enough to the story that it would be a big shock but he's not someone close enough to Aqua that it would irrecoverably break him.

Ultimately I think OnK will have a bittersweet ending at most but one that is primarily uplifting and hopeful. I've said before that the entire series is the agonizingly drawn out epilogue to a tragedy that the characters will not allow to end and I think an ending in which the cast is able to close the book on their trauma and start taking steps towards a more hopeful future is the ending that feels the most emotionally 'correct' to me.
