the air in your apartment was too still, too quiet — the kind of quiet that felt heavy, like a weight pressed against your chest. rain tapped against the windowpane, and you sat curled on the couch, your phone resting on the coffee table a few feet away. you’d thrown it there hours ago, unable to bear the sight of unread messages and missed calls.

you weren’t sure how long you’d been sitting like this when the lock to your door clicked open. only one person had a key.

“y/n?” lee know’s voice was soft, hesitant.

you didn’t answer. couldn’t. the ache in your chest was too thick, like something invisible but suffocating. you kept your gaze fixed on the rain-streaked glass, tracing the paths of droplets as they slid down.

he stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind him. you heard the shuffle of his shoes being kicked off, the gentle sigh he let out. a beat passed before he crossed the room and sat on the floor in front of you, resting his arms on his knees.

“hey,” he said, a little quieter. “you left practice early. wouldn’t answer my calls.”

you swallowed hard, your throat burning. “sorry.”

he shook his head. “don’t be.”

another pause. the clock on the wall ticked steadily, the storm outside refusing to let up.

“i’m afraid,” you admitted, voice barely a whisper. you didn’t mean to say it — it slipped out like a secret you hadn’t planned to confess.

lee know’s expression didn’t change, but something in his eyes softened, a tenderness slipping past his usual sharp, unreadable gaze.

“i know,” he murmured. “me too.”

your lips parted, surprised by his honesty. lee know didn’t talk about feelings. not like this. he was the one who joked through tension, who poked fun at you when things got too heavy, who would flick your forehead and call you a baby if you cried.

and yet here he was, sitting in front of you like he carried the same storm inside.

“i’m in pain,” you said next, tears stinging your eyes before you could stop them. “but i’m okay.”

it felt like a lie, and you hated the way your voice cracked on the last word. but lee know didn’t call you out on it. he didn’t push or prod. he just leaned forward, his hand reaching out to cover yours where it lay limp on your lap.

“i get it,” he said quietly. “you don’t have to be okay right now. not with me.”

the tears finally spilled over. you let out a shaky breath, squeezing his hand like it was the only thing keeping you grounded. he scooted closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you against his chest.

no jokes this time. no teasing. just the steady rhythm of his heartbeat and the silent understanding that sometimes, being not okay was enough.

Superman: Lost style study

I really struggle drawing Superman/Clark Kent so I thought I’d look at how my favourite artists draw him. This is of Superman: Lost and the artist team of Carlo Pagulayan (pencils), Jason Paz (inks), and Jeromy Cox (colours).

This is my favourite depiction of Clark and I reference it a lot. It’s the default way I picture him (in the modern era at least). I like how soft he looks while maintaining very strong and sharp features. The hair is my favourite part

satoru’s extremely relieved and huffing out an eased like a weight has been lifted type of sigh at the fact that i’ve only had one boyfriend ever and it was in kindergarten but then he’s pissed bc i’ve had another boyfriend besides him and he demands to know his name and how he looks like and what school i went to at the time (he already knows bc he ran a background check on me to find out everything he could possibly know) so he’s easily able to narrow it down when i give a brief description, none the wiser……
