Foo Fighters - Everlong 1997

"Everlong" is a song by American rockband Foo Fighters, released in August 1997 as the second single from their second studio album, The Colour and the Shape. The song reached number 3 on the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart and the Canadian RPM Rock/Alternative chart. It is often regarded as the band's signature song. After drummer Taylor Hawkins' death in March 2022, streams of the song increased and charted on the Billboard Global 200 at #123, the band's first appearance on the chart. "Everlong" reached 1 billion streams on Spotify on December 2, 2023, the 55th birthday of the Foo Fighters' bassist, Nate Mendel.

"Everlong" was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. On May 11, 2021, it passed 200 million views on Youtube. Although Hawkins is shown drumming in the video, Dave Grohl was actually the drummer on the song, as Hawkins had not yet joined the band at the time of its recording. "Everlong" has been featured in the music video games Rock Band 2, Rock Band Unplugged, Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rocksmith 2014. It is also included in Rock Band for iOS and as a purchasable track in Fortnite Festival.

CHAPTER ONE back from rehab

SYNOPSIS the beginning of a teenage girl named y/n who is fresh out of rehab but doesn't intend to stay clean.

FROM THE WRITER AHH IM SORRY IM LATE GUYS!! This is the first chapter I'm ever writing, I took some inspo from episode 1 but I'm going to have to cut each episode into fourths because I really don't want to spend a whole week trying to finish a whole episode and school work. But I hope you guys really enjoy this chapter as much as I did - Love you guys, Sapiyah <3

Suddenly, the whole world goes dark and nothing else matters except the person standing in front of you.

You were once happy. Content.

Sloshing and swimming around your own private, primordial pool; Then one day, for reasons beyond your control, you were continuously and repeatedly crushed...

Over..and over.. again by the cervix of your mother, M/n.

You put up a good fight, but eventually lost, for the first time, but not the last.

You were born 3 days after 9/11, your mother and father spent two days in the hospital, holding you under the soft glow of the television, watching those towers fall over and over again, until the feeling of grief gave away to numbness.

And then, without warning, a middle-class childhood in the American suburbs.

You were sitting at the dinner table with your mother, M/n, and Father, F/n. But it appeared something else had gotten your attention, a set of numerous lights above the dinner table, in which you wanted to count.

"Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen.."

" What are you looking at y/n?"

"..."

"What are you doing? ..Y-y/n look at me."

"One, two, three, .."

"What are you doing Y/n?"

*cries*

"Id say she's suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder..."

Its not like you were physically abused..

"...attention deficit disorder..."

..Or had some type of clean water storage..

"..general anxiety disorder.."

..Or was molested by a family member.

"..and possibly bipolar disorder. But she's a little bit too young to tell."

So, explain this shit to me.

You haven't remembered much from the ages of eight to twelve. Just that the world moved fast, and your mind moved slow.

"Does anyone have an idea of what a perception might be?"

And every now and then, if you focused on the way you breathed...

You'd die.

"Slow down, just breathe"

Until every second of the day, you'd find yourself trying to outrun your anxiety.

"What's wrong Y/n?"

..And quite frankly..

"I'm just fucking exhausted"

Coming down to the kitchen, you could hear the small talk between your mother and younger sister, S/N.

"You said the doctor was in our network. How can he suddenly be out of network?"

"I can't afford it."

"Did you see that video of the girl who got acid thrown at her face?"

"What? No.."

"It's pretty fucked up.."

"Mom do you know where the tampons are?"

"In my bathroom, right under the sink."

And at one point, you'd make a choice of who you are and what you want.

"Alright Gia, let's go"

"Why do the co-payments cost $300?"

"Y/n did you eat breakfast?"

".."

"What's with the glasses?"

"What glasses?"

You just happened to show up one day, without a map or a compass..

"Attention students, we need to lockdown."

..Or to be honest, anyone capable of giving on iota of good fucking advice.

And I know it all seems sad but guess what? You did not build this system up, nor fuck it up yourself.

But then it happens. That moment where your breath starts to slow. And every time you breathe, you breathe out all the oxygen you have.

Then everything stops: Your heart, your lungs, then finally, your brain. And everything you feel, you wish, and want to forget, it all just sinks.

And then suddenly... you give it air again, give it life again.

You remember the first time it happened, where you were so scared you wanted to call 911. Go to the hospital and be kept alive by machines and apple juice. But you didn't want to look like an idiot, and you didn't want to fuck up everyone else's night.

And now overtime, that's all you've wanted.. those two seconds of nothingness.

You spent a good portion of summer before junior year in rehab. God granted you the serenity to accept things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

"Y/N," your sister yelled from afar, greeting you after your long leave. You smiled, and whilst running up to her, tried to continue the conversation with your younger sibling.

"Hey, Come here!"

"How are you?"

"Good, I missed you."

"I missed you too."

"Look at you, are you growing?"

"No."

Looking over, you see your mother standing by your family car.

"Hey," you yelled out to her, only to receive a small smile from her.

And with that. you knew it was your time to go.

"I'm very happy for you Y/n. You're about to start a brand-new chapter," Your mother says while driving you and your sister to school. You looked at her with a smile, then turned your attention back to the car window.

You had no intentions of staying clean. And yet, Jirou just moved into town.

"There's some new girl in town that I think you'll be friends with," Shoto said, with you standing beside him in his store.

"Who?"

"Shit, I don't know. She came in looking all punk rock and shit; So I'm thinking to myself, like, 'look like somebody Y/n would be friends with'."

Which was sort of a dead-on observation for Shoto, who's not normally revolving in the same direction as planet earth.

"So how long have you been back?" He asked.

"About five days."

"And how are you feeling?"

"I mean, ever since I gave my life over to my lord and savior Jesus Christ, things have been, like, really good."

"Word? That's what's up," You chuckled at his snarky remark, giving him a small smile.

"I'm fucking with you," you said whilst laughing, "It was a joke."

"Shit, hey, I don't judge," he defended, hands raising to just above his chest.

"But for real, is Deku in the back?"

"Are you serious?" Shoto questioned, seeming very disappointed in you.

"What, you think cause' I went to rehab I stayed clean?"

"I mean, ain't that the point?" he asks.

"Yeah, well, the world is coming to an end, and I haven't even graduated high school yet."

You gave Shoto one more smile before going to Deku, whilst Shoto stared at you the entire way there; There was a hint of sadness in his eyes, but since you were too busy looking for Deku, you didn't see.

You opened one of the doors of the refrigerators, leading you right to him with a bowl of fruit loops,"I thought your ass was dead," he said one he saw your appearance.

"And I thought you had Asperger's till I realized your just a prick," you barked back.

"This a fickle industry, y'all come and go. I'm just trying to stack my cash, pay off our mortgage," he said while pulling out a bunch of plastic bags out of a microwave.

"So what the fuck do you want?" You gave him a knowing look before he handed you needed.

"You sure you don't want to try something new?" He asks you.

"Like what?"

"2C-T-2, 2C-T-7, and 5-MeO-DIPT."

"I'm sorry I have no fucking idea of what you just said."

"It doesn't matter," he stated, "but this shit, is fucking lit."

"What is it?"

"N-diisopropyl-5-methoxytryptamine. It's a fast-acting psychedelic."

Got some similarities to LSD, but with, like, key differences. Not as visual as shit, but definitely a sense distorter.

"What's wrong?" That same dark purple hair girl questioned.

"I'm just so happy," you responded back.

"I don't know, this shits been going off in Tampa, and mad people like to fuck with this," Deku continued on with his descriptions with the drug.

"Okay. Yeah, why not."

"That'll be 120."

"Oh uh, Shoto said he'd spot me."

"Shoto doesn't spot nobody."

"Yeah, well, it's a post-rehab discount, so you should ask him."

"I will go ask him, cause' I know your full of shit."

Those were the last words he said before you walked out. Those were the last words you heard before you saw the same two boys in freshman year.

I should elaborate on my reasoning for why I would prefer M to be a man in IO Interactive’s 007 First Light.

Let’s look at Dame Judi Dench as M in the movies, as she was the first female M. Her casting as M in GoldenEye (1995), opposite a debuting Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, represents the passage of time: the end of the Cold War and the new world birthed from it. During the Brosnan era, Bond is a man in his 40s and a tenured agent of the Secret Service with a great deal of experience. Whenever M criticized Bond’s actions, it never felt like she was dressing down a schoolboy. They spoke to each other as two individuals on equal footing.

In the Craig era, Dench played M as a relic of the Cold War. She frustratingly says, “Christ, I miss the Cold War!” as she deals with a post-9/11 world under constant surveillance. She views Bond as a surrogate son. Bond recognizes this in Quantum of Solace (2008):

Bond: He (Dominic Greene) tried to kill a friend of mine.

Camille: A woman?

Bond: Yes. But it’s not what you think.

Camille: Your mother?

Bond: She likes to think so.

In Skyfall (2012), she is a stand-in for the Queen. The SIS Building is Buckingham Palace under attack. The villain, Silva, taunts her with a message showing M’s face wearing the SIS Building as a crown. Bond is a loyal knight, and you can view him as the good son and Silva as the bad son. Bond, once again a man in his 40s, has great admiration and respect for her. “You did your duty,” he says. She also emphasizes her respect for Bond: “I did call you ‘an exemplar of British fortitude.’”

Dench as M in the Brosnan era represented the New World, and in the Craig era, she represented the Old World—a personification of the nation (the United Kingdom). Skyfall (2012) was her swan song, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series and Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. The film also saw the introduction of a new M, Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes). This transition seemed to update classic Bond for a new age for the time.

Now while we await the next Bond movie a new age for Bond begins in the video game sphere. Could it potentially influence the future of Bond in film?

In the new Bond game, 007 First Light, Bond is a young man in his 20s (he is 26 in the game). This marks a potentially refreshing take on Ian Fleming’s super-spy.

Bond is now a brash young man. A brash young man needs guidance, and that guidance can come from his father or a surrogate father figure/mentor. A young man’s anger and frustrations can be understood by the experiences of his father. The old man was once a young man.

What would young men think if they were to see Bond (a young Bond) scolded by a woman?

Imagine a young man in his 20s or adolescence playing this game and seeing the avatar (Bond, a male fantasy figure) that expresses his masculine desires and dreams being reprimanded by a woman. It could feel like a rebuke of his male identity.

The ending of No Time to Die (2021) can be interpreted as such, with the masculine figure of Bond standing on top of the island as torrential missiles rain down on him. Bond, a male fantasy figure that gives expression to masculine dreams and desires, is wiped out.

I think we need to make content for men that allows for a healthier expression of masculinity, just as women should have content that caters to them.

Men and women need their own outlets that express their innate desires and dreams.

Sometimes okay to make content for men that might upset some women. Though that might not be intention.

To be fair, this new female M in 007 First Light so far doesn’t disapprove of Bond’s brashness and insubordination. She finds these qualities make him a perfect candidate for the Double-O program.

There does seem to be a mentor-like figure in the game’s story, a new character named John Greenway. We first see him in the trailer mentioning some of Bond’s reckless actions and insubordination to M while discussing his candidacy for the Double-O program.

It looks like Bond will be spending part of the game’s narrative under his guidance. Maybe a father-son dynamic will emerge.

M and Greenway seem to split authorial duties with M providing mission objectives and targets and Greenway providing guidance. Wouldn't it be better if the roles were combined into one?

Wouldn't a father-son dynamic between Bond and M be beneficial for this new era of Bond in the gaming sphere?

Could he, like Gareth Mallory in Skyfall, become the new M?

We'll have to wait till the game is release to see how the game's overall narrative pans out.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole #1: “LBJFK” | August 16, 2010 - 12:30AM | S01E08

This episode begins with one of the rudest acts a person can do: having sex with the bullet hole in the brain of the guy you just had murdered. LBJ does “it” with JFK (it means have s*x) and then declares that he’s taking the corpse to Frankenstein’s funny house of weird guys. He wants to look like JFK so he can have sex with the bullet holes found between the legs of a gorgeous dame. He does this, but then he gets himself bitten by Lawrence while in werewolf mode. So the ending is a montage of Werewolf stuff happening like LBJ biting Marilyn Monroe and stuff. 

I didn’t really like this episode, but I can highlight jokes I respect, like “blink”, and Spencer Tracey’s unusually attractive forehead, and the “How to punch up a montage” book. But this one had a lot of “ummm… okaaaayy” jokes in it. I mean, LBJ might have literally said it exactly once in the entire episode, but some other jokes felt like “ummm… okaaaayy” style of jokes. Like, the high five bit. I’m considering that an “ummm… okaaaayy” joke. 

This is supposedly the first episode of the series in a more “proper” watch order. It doesn’t feel THAT much like a “first episode,” but there is some continuity that places it earlier rather than later. Mother Theresa is seen waiting to see Frankenstein and she is the subject of episode #2, which didn’t air.

Most of this episode didn’t make me laugh. I don’t think I really like this show that much! The design still irks me. Also wearing thin on me is the IO Perry music, which only sometimes suits the show. No offense to her, it is just mostly not my thing.

Actual scott facts: It's pretty widely rumored that the Scott Pilgrim short was made as a pilot for a potential TV adaptation of the comics,  but never picked up because the movie bombed in theaters. There eventually was a one-and-done miniseries made for Netflix, with the entire movie cast reprising their roles even, but it differed in plot greatly from both the comics and the movie. The short is the most faithful adaptation to da OG comics by a mile (it's shot-for-shot a snippet of volume 2).

Hey thanks for this, I should have figured it out myself. Just spitballing here, but I think they should use AI to make every comic book be animation, and the American tax payers should pay for it. They can even figure bots into the budget who comment on the videos and say they’re good, and they can also buy bots to watch it for us. And then maybe the bots could kill me

As cool as it is to have a show on TV say "9/11 was an inside job" as much as you could probably get away with in 2010 (you can tell he tried to veil it), I do agree that a tepid 24 spoof is probably not the best note to end your show on. Also, the fourth season was pretty infamously bad, not TERRIBLE but horrifyingly mediocre. Best way I can describe the quality is like jumping straight from golden age Simpsons to Season 26 Simpsons, with no slow, gradual decline in between.

I’m very scared of it, almost like if there was monsters on the show doing big scares at the camera. Please don’t tell me they put monsters in the show as well. I am stopping the blog immediately if a monster scares me on that show.

Tempo di covid. Avevo una relazione puramente di sesso (almeno così avevo capito io 😐 ) con una collega dell’ufficio legale. Tempo di Covid quindi tutti chiusi in casa. O quasi. Io no. Per raggiungere questa collega preparavo richieste / autodichiarazioni di sostituzione pneumatici della macchina aziendale presso un gommista vicino a casa sua, che era uno dei motivi che consentivano di spostarsi. Comunque non mi hanno mai fermato. Normalmente arrivavo da lei verso le 11 e lei era regolarmente in video call, spegneva la videocamera e chiudeva il microfono e cominciavamo dei giochi soft / preliminari mentre gli altri continuavano a parlare. Ogni tanto diceva qualcosa o rispondeva a qualche domanda riaccendendo il microfono (chiaramente erano diventate call solo audio). In realtà quindi non ho avuto orgasmi in quel luogo (davanti ad uno schermo durante una call) ma ci sono andato molto vicino. Lei era notevolissima, molto molto calda. Poi da “solo sesso” voleva si passasse ad una relazione, cosa che io non volevo, e quindi il tutto finì.

ciao, popolo di di tumblr, volevo condividere con voi un pensiero che ultimamente mi balena per la testa e che vedo molti account pensarla in modo simile.

io ho iniziato ad avere account su tumblr per “gioco” e per fare la “figa” nel lontano 2012 quando avevo 13 anni, pensavo che avere un account qui e condividere frasi finte depresse mi rendesse “cool” e “in” per i tempi. ero alle medie e onestamente non so nemmeno cosa pensassi, ne cosa stavo passando perché ho cancellato quel periodo dalla mia testa per tanti motivi.

sta di fatto che sono su tumblr in un account o un altro da 11 anni, non ho mai pensato neanche lontanamente che un giorno sarei arrivata a fare questo discorso, ma mi tocca.

negli ultimi due anni (forse anche 3/4) questo sito, quello che il ritenevo un posto sicuro, quello che io usavo per esprimere me stessa e le mie emozioni, quello che usavo come diario per raccontare di come mi facevano sentire determinate esperienze vissute, o quello che usavo come pagina bianca di sfogo per tutti i brutti momenti che ho passato.

ecco, quel sito ormai non esiste più. ovvero, certo tumblr c’è ancora, ed io (come voi) siamo qui a scrivere, rebloggare e leggere come prima, ma il sito di per se è cambiato molto.

ora come ora quando entro mi ritrovo scene p0rno, oppure cose non richieste in quanto non sono nei miei interessi, scene di vi0lenza..insomma cose di questo tipo, che non dico che 10/11 anni fa non c’erano, anzi probabilmente già giravano sul sito ma non erano così evidenti, non erano così INVADENTI nella dashboard o negli account di tutti noi.

onestamente parlando, io ora ho 24 anni, forse sono un po’ grande per stare qui su tumblr ancora con la speranza e l’ingenuità di usare il sito solo come via di sfogo e di lettura di altre persone nella mia stessa situazione, però fatto sta che ho un’età che se mi voglio vedere dei video o film p0rno posso benissimo farlo altrove, senza problemi. non capisco perché debbano “sbatterlo” in faccia a tutti gli utenti di tumblr che cercano ancora una via di sfogo (come me) o che entrano per leggere e rebloggare.

a me, onestamente, dispiace molto per quello che è diventato. e mi dispiace che ora le persone che sono qui come sono qui io, per i motivi di anni fa, e per condividere ancora, magari, i nostri stati d’animo..si debbano trovare un sito completamente diverso.

capisco che la tecnologia cambia, si evolve e niente può rimanere uguale ma nonostante questo, mi dispiace.

mi auguro comunque che le persone che sono qui con il mio stesso scopo, o quelle che sono qui per condividere, leggere e rebloggare frasi, poesie, arte ecc.. non si abbattano (nemmeno io lo farò) e continueremo a usare tumblr per questo scopo.

Tre giorni fa mi sono svegliata con una notizia: Liam Payne è morto. Non mi sono scomposta più di tanto, abituata alle solite ‘fake news’. Poi però le notizie a riguardo aumentavano, e diventava sempre più una certezza. E mi si gela il sangue. Il primo pensiero è andato a te, alla mia Chiaretta,alla persona con la quale avrei condiviso questa notizia, e con la quale ho condiviso negli anni la stessa musica,il primo loro concerto a Milano, emozioni,sogni. Una lacrima mi riga il viso.

Inizio a leggere gli articoli,inizio a fare ricerche per capire cosa sia successo. Resto shockata. La mente fa un salto temporale, torno a 14 anni fa. Ricordo ancora i provini fatti ad X-factor,ricordo la formazione della band, i video diary che aspettavo ogni settimana, ricordo le risate e la piccola me che si sforzava di capire l’inglese.

Ricordo quella ragazzina, e il suo vissuto, e riaffiorano tutte quelle sensazioni, o forse non se ne sono mai andate, con il tempo e con l’età uno ha imparato solo a gestirle, ma certe ferite,certe cicatrici ti sono cucite addosso, te le porti per sempre.

Il tempo sembra essersi fermato, indosso le cuffiette,schiaccio play, chiudo gli occhi. Ho 11/12 anni, sono alle medie, e loro sono i miei compagni di vita. Ho sempre vissuto la musica a mille, come una cosa che ti appartiene e ti arriva da dentro, e cosa voi siete stati per me allora e cosa continuate ad essere oggi non si può spiegare. Ringrazio i miei genitori, per avermi fatto vivere quell’esperienza quel 28 giugno 2014, che mi ha dato così tanto. Ricordo ancora perfettamente ogni dettaglio, di quando all’uscita piangevo come una disperata, perché era stato tutto così bello e surreale, e da allora ho iniziato ad aspettare il prossimo. Poi quel 25 marzo 2015 Zayn lascia la band, e nel 2016 voi vi prendete una pausa. Da allora non ci sono più i One Direction, niente più musica. Sono passati 10 anni e ancora aspetto e ci spero.. come ricordo le riprese per girare il video del 1D day in rappresentanza dell’Italia e poi un’intera notte sveglia per potervi seguire in diretta dall’America conclusasi rigorosamente con un’english breakfast. Ricordo la fan page che creai: I’m a Directioner, che mi ha fatto conoscere tante persone, per assurdo prima era così semplice fare amicizia, eravamo una famiglia, ci riconoscevamo e sembrava conoscerci da chissà quanto , ricordo delle storie che pubblicavo su wattpad e su Efp fanfiction,dei raduni che facevamo. E di essere finita al tg, sopra una transenna a cantare allegramente. E non a caso il mio primo viaggio l’ho fatto in Inghilterra..

Chiaretta non c’è più da 6 anni, e ora Liam, sei volato via anche tu. Ma io lo so, che quando indosso quelle cuffie,e chiudo gli occhi, siamo di nuovo tutti insieme. Io e lei sotto a quel palco a cantare a squarciagola, guardarci e piangere ma felici come non mai, perché stiamo vivendo il nostro sogno, e voi 5 insieme su quel palco, a cantare le nostre canzoni preferite.

Ho temuto, che perdendo te, io debba dire addio a quella parte di me, così come ho dovuto dire addio a lei.. e invece no, vi prometto che non perderò mai questa parte di me,che custodisco gelosamente. Come mi batterò sempre per l’importanza di un’idolo, l’appartenenza ad un fandom.

Prima nato morto, poi con un solo rene, successivamente vittima di bullismo. Poi il successo, che ti travolge.

La salute mentale è alla base, e chiedere aiuto è la cosa più difficile, ed è così bizzarro di come tu stesso Liam sia stato l’ancora di salvezza di così tanti ragazzi.. io ancora non me ne capacito..

I nomi degli artisti che si sono esibiti al gay pride di Milano non me li ricordo. È una grossa differenza con l’ultimo gay pride a cui sono stata nel lontano 2011, anno in cui io stavo per compierne 30 e decisi di andare da sola a percorrermi l’ultimo tratto perché volevo, anche, sentire Lady Gaga al circo massimo. Sì perché nel 2011 vivevo a Roma e adesso, 2023, vivo a Milano, o quasi.

L’11 giugno del 2011 abbiamo festeggiato i 30 anni del mio migliore amico in campagna dai suoi, a Rieti. Bellissimo posto, bellissima cascina, bellissima compagnia. Eravamo già abbastanza grandi da essere ognuno in un posto diverso del mondo, infatti Nando era tornato da Grenoble, Manu dalla Svizzera, Tommaso da Berlino, Riccardo da Cambridge e io stavo per andare via, dopo 13 anni di vita, dalla città che mi aveva cresciuto. Il 2011, io ero già alla terza o quarta vita, avevo già vecchi amici che non avrei più rivisto, avevo cambiato già 15 case, due continenti, diversi paesi e stavo per compiere 30 anni, non ero felice. L’11 giugno del 2011 non avevo una casa in cui tornare a dormire, ero una vagabonda, tre anni di convivenza finiti, lavoro precario, sottopagato e frustrante, una vita sessuale randagia, poligamica e insoddisfacente. Finita la festa me ne sono andata al pride, volevo sentire Lady Gaga, presentava il suo secondo album e mi sa che cantò The edge of Glory? Possibile, ho questo ricordo, il circo massimo era stracolmo e i carri del sound erano quelli dei centri sociali e delle organizzazioni non profit sul territorio, qualche partito esponente dei diritti umani. Io ero da sola e fu un momento catartico. Quella sera, me ne andai dal circo massimo e mi chiamò Nando che era in giro, ci trovammo a Monti a bere birra, ad un certo punto ci raggiunsero anche Riccardo e Tommaso e Daria e ce ne siamo andati in giro a bere birra dei bangla e sederci sui gradini per il rione, una calda sera quasi estiva a Roma ho deciso di mollare tutto a andarmene da quella città soffocante e decadente, lontana e diversa da quella che mi aveva accolto. Quella notte restammo con Nando ad aspettare il bus con cui tornava a casa e poi a Grenoble, non l’ho più rivisto, se non in video call. Adesso vive negli USA. Riccardo era andato via poco prima. L’ho rivisto al concerto di Manuchao, qui a Monza, qualche anno fa. È tornato a Roma adesso. Tommaso, Daria ed io passammo la notte insieme, a casa di Daria, in tre nello stesso letto. La mattina prestissimo (poche ore dopo esser tornati) prima di partire per Berlino, lui ci diede un bacio sulla guancia ad entrambe, con delicatezza per non svegliarci e se ne andò in silenzio. Lo ricordo ancora adesso. Lui non è più a Berlino, fino prima della guerra credo fosse in Russia, adeso non saprei. Non l‘ho più rivisto. Io avrei lasciato Roma da lì a poco.

Sabato scorso sono stata al gay pride di Milano, dodici anni dopo.

Sono andata con i mio compagno, una coppia di amici e il loro bambino. Non avevo un goccio di alcol in corpo e nemmeno della droga leggera. Pulita. Ero comunque vestita da zoccola.

I carri col sound non erano più quelli dei centri sociali e delle organizzazioni, ma c’erano quelli degli sponsor, senza i quali oggi la parata sarebbe impossibile, c’era quello della CocaCola, che ai miei tempi si boicottava perché ammazza(va) i sindacalisti in Colombia, c’erano le banche e le corporation.

È anche perché, a scopo di marketing, queste realtà si espongono che la comunità LGBTQI+ ha una voce con una cassa di risonanza, come dice un mio amico.

È anche perché il mercato si è accorto di “loro” che le cose sono cambiate e stanno cambiando in meglio per “loro”, anche, non solo.

Mi da fastidio vedere il carro della CocaCola? All’inizio ero perplessa, ma poi ho pensato che ognuno ha le proprie lotte da vincere, avremo sempre delle lotte da vincere, perderemo dei pezzi, non sapremo a volte quando un saluto è stato effettivamente l’ultimo saluto, cambieremo pelle e chissà se la vita dei sindacalisti ammazzati non sia valsa un passo in più nella lotta, io non posso sapere tutto, non voglio sapere tutto.

Ogni processo tende a complicarsi, se il flusso porta miglioramento allora credere nel flusso.

Devo per forza credere nel flusso.
