zoro really does remind me so much of a tiger.

i can see him sprawled out on the deck with his tail swishing back and forth lazily, napping in the best sunbeams without giving a shit that he’s blocking the whole walkway, you know. cat stuff.

he would probably get disgruntled when the crew comes and lies down on/over/beside him but he’d just yawn and shake out his ruff and tolerate it because. they’re his crew. they’re nakama. anyone else would get their hands bitten off as soon as they got within biting distance, but he’ll tolerate these few.

(he wouldn’t admit that he enjoys them pressing into his sides and pushing their fingers into his thick fur when their hands get cold because he puts out heat like a bloody furnace.)

and sanji would be the ONLY one he lets near his underbelly; everybody else only gets to touch the top of his coat but sanji comes along and he bares his fangs in a baseless threat because the cook has already formed a habit of falling asleep with his face shoved into zoro’s soft white fur, or half-squashed beneath him, and zoro acts all indifferent but hey. there’s a reason only sanji gets to get that close to him.

AND PLEASE the way zoro naps with his hands behind his head?? if someone called for him he would crack an eye open just barely before ignoring them and/or turning away and going back to sleep. THAT IS PEAK FELINE BEHAVIOUR. THE WHOLE BITCHY PETTY LAZILY POSSESSIVE TRIES-TO-ACT-COOL-BUT-IS-ACTUALLY-VERY-MUCH-A-LAME-DORK-WHO-CARES-A-LOT IS SO ZORO (especially opla zoro)

and he gets so worked up so quickly over specific things, both in good and bad ways. sanji picks a fight and he is down to kick butt and on his feet in 2.5 seconds flat. luffy tells him about a new idea/plan/shenanigan that will most certainly get them into trouble (that nami will have to haul their asses out of) and he’s there swords out bandana on like “yeah i’m ready where we going” LIKE A CAT WITH A LASER POINTER. HE SNAPS TO ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY AND FOLLOWS IT WITH SINGLE-MINDED INTENSITY.

not to mention yes he’s soft for his nakama but he’s also still so dangerous. just because he tucks his swords and claws and fangs away for them does not mean that he does not have them. if anybody even thought of being as familiar with him as the strawhats they’d lose a few vital organs; he loves his crew, so he keeps them close. simple as that. it’s a privilege that he doesn’t afford anyone else.

mm and now this is stirring up ideas of a shifter au. big green tiger zoro yes but what would the rest of them be?? luffy’d be a monkey, probably… i feel like usopp gives off goose energy for some reason 😭 but sanji?? nami?? I DON’T KNOW YALL TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

I started liking it before this, but really the bar flashback was what sold it for me. I think they have a fun dynamic, where they are so different but have this straight forwardness and honesty to them. But more importantly I think they both have a shared struggle of feeling/ being viewed as "inhuman" (yuki as the star plasma vessel and choso as a cursed womb) that's pretty fun to explore for both characters.

In canon, I like how they fight together against Kenjaku, it feels like they have such a seamless chemistry in a fight and they look out for each other. I also like exploring the idea of what they're time together with Tengen looked like and how they might have grown closer, there's a lot of potential for them there.

I think it's fair to say that in the actual story, Yuki does kind of just serve to further Choso's character development, which, I'm happy about! He's also a favorite of mine, but I wish it was more of a mutual push in their development, and I think it very easily could have been.

This was actually the first pair I shipped in jjk! What really sold it for me was Nobara's speech to Momo about what being a woman means to her, and just the clear appreciation, respect, and understanding she holds for Maki. They've always seemed the closest to me out of any of the Tokyo students, and such good angst potential with post-Shibuya too (...as long as we all agree...Nobara comes back around...)

Good fun dynamic between them where I think they would both kinda fangirl over each other lmao but also they both like starting shit so them play fighting/teasing each other is always something I love to see too. I think both of their storylines revolve SO much around women as well that them having their lesbian awakenings to each other makes so sense to me.

More people should like Nobamaki :( To be fair they do get a fair bit more attention compared to some other wlw ships in other fandoms, and I get that Nobara has been out of the story for awhile, but both are such well developed characters they have so much potential as a ship

There is no chemistry here lmao. This ship gives me "Oh two attractive men stood next to each other let's ship it!" Even before satosugu took off with Hidden Inventory I still didn't care for this ship like, at all. And usually I'm a fan of ships that bicker a lot (I like zosan a lot lmao) this is more so Nanami being genuinely annoyed with Gojo because Gojo is kinda an asshole towards Nanami a lot of the time. I'm also not like, suuuper invested in Nanami as a character.

Ehhh if it's a ship that bickers like this it has to be more in a mutual teasing way but there's still respect on both sides, but that changes the whole dynamic of Gojo and Nanami. The only way I'll read this ship is if it's like, a desperate rebound/one night stand, but I don't even really wanna read that either unless it's leading to satosugu down the line aksljfdlk

Again I think they have potential as like, a desperate but regrettable hookup. Or there have been some good itafushi fics where Nanami is raising Yuuji and Gojo is raising Megumi and that's not an awful concept to me that they would get together in that kind of au, it has potential to be cute. I also understand the appeal of nanago in the sense that people love a good enemies to lovers and they could provide that.

~Fic Introduction Post~ #6

time to talk ZoSan? let’s talk ZoSan. three fics to discuss today, all three of them rated Explicit, so this is firmly a no-minors-allowed fic introduction post

fic 1: don't ask me who's driving.

in my notes on the original draft I believe I referred to this as a ‘contextless limo blowjob’. I was very much grabbed by a very specific mental image so I wrote it down. wasn’t the first time, won’t be the last, it makes for excellent fanfics.

the super fun spicy part of this fic is that Sanji is the dominant one for once! because while I adore submissive Sanji (so so so much), I think it’s very important to the ZoSan dynamic that Zolo also gets a chance to be subby sometimes. even if it is with the approximate attitude of a whole adult tiger daring you to try and scold it. which it is.

I’m proud of this fic from top to bottom. I wouldn’t necessarily rank it in my top five, but it’s solidly good quality from start to finish, and there are some excellent lines in there too.

it’s short (1.4k) and sweet, so if you love a good throatfuck & gratuitously thirsty descriptions of Sanji, give it a read!

fic 2: Two Masochists Attempt Wound Aftercare.

I watched one of the super early OP movies (I think it’s literally the second one?) purely to watch that one Sanji fight with the unnecessarily good animation. came out of it thinking, wow, that was really just 50 minutes of Sanji foot whump, huh. couple days later I stepped on a nail and wrote this fic.

do I have a ~Thing™~ about feet? no. do I have a ~Thing™~ about Sanji’s feet? ...maybe.

(I definitely have a thing about ZoSan foot worship. but that’s not a foot thing, that’s a weapons thing. anyway.)

I personally LOVE letting you guys, the amazing writers, know how much I appriciate what you do. But.. I know I can be high maintenance sometimes.. and sometimes I feel like I might overdo it.

So, thank you for letting us - your readers - know.

I have never ever met a writer - or any kind of content creator, for that matter - who would get irritated with receiving feedback! We love that! Fandoms are not art galleries or libraries, creative content is a performance - and a performance to have a meaning needs an interaction between the creator and the audience. No one likes to yell at empty room, either be it a little or a big response, we like to know if our work was appreciated. Especially in that sensitive matter that reader inserts are.

I won't @ people but I know people from here who cried when receiving feedback. I know people who go through their works to read tags/comments when they have a bad day or doubts in their skill. We all have our favorite Anons (yup, yup, we can recognize you, dear Anons, even if you don't sign your messages) and favorite requesters, to the point we get excited when we see a note from a certain url.

I'm usually very reserved with answering feedback because I 1) easily miss it in piles of notes 2) am one awkward bean and I have no idea what to do with people being kind to me, but I always read the response I get from the person who requested this one very specific thing - and it always makes me happy, if they are happy with what they received.

If anything, it's the lack of response that irritates me and other writers whom I know. As I said, yeah, we can tell which Anon is which and we can tell who comes back to say thank you and who only waits for requests to be open.

(One of the reasons I stopped taking male reader requests at some point was exactly that. That one returning requester who never ever wrote thanks. It's really frustrating.)

There are some types of feedback we hate. Like unsolicited criticizing. Or people overly thirsting under a sfw piece (please for the love of goodness, folks, watch where you leave thirsty messages, there are kids and sex repulsed people who create fandom content too!). Or people pushing their ships under a content that was not made to be a ship. Racism, homophobia, terfs and other shits like this. But it doesn't come from the fact of feedback alone but from the lack of basic etiquette.

But even if the feedback rubs as the wrong way, in most of cases we don't do anything about it.

In my career I've blocked only two people because of a feedback. One had it coming for a long time for being an irritating person over all, but it broke me when I read in a feedback about "sharing our husband". Which is a huge pet peeve of mine. (Really, I very do not like when people try to be overly friendly or funny and make such jokes or wink winks. But as I said, this person had it coming for an longer time and it was just that one straw too much.) The other treated request for male reader with Sanji as zosan and kept commenting this piece of work through zosan perspective.

So as you can see, they both got a bonk because of an assholery, not because they left feedback. No keysmashing, no crying in tags, no simping can get us angry. It's a proof we made someone happy.

And we are here for that, right? 🤭

before I get into it just know this is the second time I’ve typed this as I’m at work and accidentally forgot to save it as a draft - whoops. And yes, the first was just as dramatic.

hey tumblr, it’s Rev. what’s up?

Can I just say, “Wow. Where have I been?”

Time really got away from me there and things just kind of fell out of my grasp - very much unrelated to the pandemic so, yeah it’s pretty bad. I stepped away from the fandom, manga, anime and most of social media for a long time (though, not really by conscious decision and I did post a couple of unfinished cosplay tutorials on YT) and I admit this wasn’t one of my finer moments. I left One Piece. My ONE OBSESSION in life. Had to read THREE whole manga arcs just to catch up and I’m, to this day, still on the Dressrosa episodes.

But.

Recently, we had a week long holiday from work and I’ve had time to just think and along with a few emails from AO3 about my old fics getting traffic, a tiny little fire ignited somewhere deep, DEEP in my gut, where my stomach meets the top of my thighs and yeah I didn’t really have to go there but hell we’re already at it so might as well make this awkward and I just had to look at my old fics.

and boy would you look at them. 2000 FOURTEEN my gosh! Half of these I can’t even remember writing what more what the plot was supposed to be. A few others I can’t even fathom where they even conjured from from because “what’s this? It’s not One Piece? Who wrote you??” There’s even a note in the next chapter of Growing Up Zosan that says it will be posted for a friend’s birthday. Well that’s 8 years too late.

Shame. Embarrassment. Disappointment. Unwell. Just to name a few things I feel about what I did and became. What’s worse is that it’s been years, and while I’m so much older now, not much of me has changed since the last time I was here. Something, - the same thing pushing me to write this novel of a confession to be thrown into the void of tumblr where it may never be seen - is driving me to want to start writing again. To finally finish what 20 year old me had started. To finally put these cockamamy ideas in print and release them to a waning audience. 

I don’t want to make promises again, because I fear they’ll get broken - like all the ask and art prompts that lay forgotten and abandoned in my inbox - but I’d hate myself even more if I let it continue like this. I’ll have to work around my job, family, and half finished crafts cluttering my office, but I do plan to start up again in the near future.

Thank you for taking the time to read this long winded journal of mine. Whoever you are, you are appreciated but please don’t hate me if I disappear again. But now I’m late for class so I gotta go.

So, since @mossybrows made me break my Tumblr silence, guess I should give everyone a quick update on how things are going.

Friday I went in for surgery as planned, but apparently there were some serious emergencies that just kept coming in and it of course took precedent, as well all of the anesthesiologists. So, with that being said, “cosmetic” surgeries like mine were sent home.

Rescheduled and I go in on Thursday this time. So this post is now dated a week farther back, as I will be pretty much gone until most likely the 14th.

Again, I am sorry for the absence, but I really need to get this surgery taken care of. You can learn more about that here, if you would like.

Wow. That's The Question. I have like... 3 main fanfics ideas? I know it sucks, but I try not to write down the fanfiction ideas I have in mind now, hoping I'll forget about them because I just love doing this so much, I'm scared I'll never end them if I write them all! x’) I wish time didn’t exist sometimes.

They're basically all about One Piece, one focused on everyone's crazy student's life with LawLu and ZoSan (wrote 2 chapters on it but didn't post it yet), one focused on LawLu (wrote only like 600 words urg), and another focused on ZoSan (wrote... only the idea and I had it for 2 years xD)?

> The first one I mentioned was my obsession for months – student AU with DevilFruit!Users , last high school year – , I even posted on my art blog pictures of the plannification of it. I guess exams took over it, but I hope my excitation will come back when I'll work on it again – also that might be because I'm too deep into drawing stuff than writing rn.

I still consider myself a bit “new” in this fandom, but only because I don't feel like I've written The Fic I'm proud of. Just a few OS or short stories... But I did enjoy writing “Not Gay” (ZoSan) and that part where Zoro's an absolute jerk with the prompt:

After a while Person B steps in and pretends to be Person A’s partner even though they never have seen each other before. Person A just goes with it, but the random stranger is so persistent and doesn’t believe they are a couple that Person A grabs Person B’s neck and kisses them. Somehow both of them don’t back out of the kiss, because, fuck can we never stop pretending?" :D

“I-I don't believe you,” the man stammered, frustrated. “I think you're his friend and you're trying to break our moment.”

Sanji pulled a face to the word “moment”, obviously not sharing his point of view. Zoro chuckled without the other noticing, too deep into his discourse.

“... Cause you're jealous. Or even more, you're just a random guy who just wanted to flirt with him too, and you're making a bad guy of me!”

“Man,” Sanji hissed, “you drank too much, your mind's going crazy. And, you know, maybe it's also none of your damn busi-”

Zoro raised his hand to make him shut, still grinning.

“Sweetheart, I think the gentleman wants us to prove our love,” he said as he entwined their fingers and all of the sudden grabbed Sanji's neck to kiss him. The cook's cheeks immediately went red while Zoro groaned. Sanji, taken away by the passion he wasn't expecting, put his body against his, sliding his hand on his waist.

He was almost breathless when they parted. They stared at each other, and the other man looked both surprised and disappointed. He left without a word, dully rumbling.

Sanji wiped his mouth with his sleeve, staring at Zoro in horror.

“Did you have to put the tongue? Seriously?!”

Facing my computer, as if it was a duel – it kinda is in a way xD �� with random music, if I know I'm gonna write something hard and sad, I have my angst playlist, otherwise just music background. 

It's nice if I have paper next to me, because I tend more and more to draw/sketch a scene to have it in mind, or just to relax/take a break but remaining in the idea of what I'm doing. 

Big huge bonus if there's someone who knows about that story and is excited about reading it soon/adds their ideas to mines! >w<//

L - last time you cried: Firstly, I'm going to unashamedly admit that whilst I don't cry easily in real life, I bawl like a baby when a good production or piece of fan work punches me in the heart with feels. Secondly, I'm also going to unashamedly rec the last two fan works that made me bawl my eyes out: THIS (Touken Ranbu; Okitagumi) and THIS (One Piece; ZoSan)

Q - questions you’re always asked: "Are you Japanese?" It's not that I speak Japanese fluently or even look Japanese, but apparently I've unconsciously adopted a lot of Japanese-esque gestures? LOL! The most frequent example (and the one that prompts this question the most) is my habit of greeting people or answering greetings with a nod of the head that’s closer to a shallow bow.

R - reasons to smile: Smiling makes me more positive about life and makes the people around me happy by infection, so if I can give as much love and contentment as I receive from my loved ones by smiling, I certainly will not hesitate to do so :D

X - x-rays you’ve ever had: Was accidentally pushed off the bed once as a kid and hit the ground headfirst. The tile cracked, but the X-ray revealed that my skull didn't even so much have a dent :P

I don't know if someone already asked this before but do you have any zosan fic recommandations? Or would you like to share One Piece fics that you really liked?

Mine? Because someone's gotta rec my work so might as well be me.

Fortunately I remembered one of the tags for this post. It's old but sound. Probably has a lot of fics you've seen recommended before.

And I have other fics I'd share but they're of different ships and it seems to me most of the people who follow me for Zosan follow me just for Zosan so I don't want to recommend anything you're not interested in.

But I do have some gen fics involving Cavendish that are a character exploration and a better handling of Hakuba than what Oda gave us.

So @alexgrand1 asked me to write up my recommendations for Zosan fanfics. It may just end up containing the same fics you’ve already read from other recommendation posts because I’m not brave enough to go looking into One Piece’s fanfiction archives on the usual site unless it’s a rarepair, but here’s mine. Separated into categories.

Makes Me Emotional To This Day

Ghost of a Chance by Saber ShadowKitten. Ask me what I think about it and you’ll get incoherent screaming. But in a good way. I once lost track of this story and went on a journey to find it again, that’s how much I like it. Could also fit under the slowburn category, but oh. It makes me swoon, but if I were to tell you what exactly about it makes me swoon, that would be spoiling it for you and it’s imperative you experience this one on your own.

this, at least by adietxt. I aspire to write like this author. Like, for real, the quality of the prose is really on a level that makes me want to write like that. And I’m not just recommending this for the writing quality. The pining! The character interactions! It hurts so good.

The invisible tide by Soroka. Dear god, it still hurts. But it’s so damn good that the pain is worth it.
