it's the WORST when you can't interact with a particular fandom at ALL because they are simply incapable of talking about the plot but WILL talk about your NOTP for hours on end so you just mope about it in silence
#griping and grumbling about fandom as usual#I understand that shipping is like. A huge part of fandom culture#but it's getting on my nerves lmao#and I am going to bitch about it on my personal blog if nowhere else#(another reason I hate the ship is because of the awful power dynamics that are passed off as sexy™ and specific scenes that annoy me to#death. It's just a specific irk of mine. I don't really like ships where there is SUCH a huge power gap and then the narrative is like. But#did you know that the MAN in the higher power position ALSO suffered SO much. Like yes I know it's not the fault of the novels themselves#(they are...passable. Not the best I have read but I like them fine so) because they do engage with the themes somewhat (even if I wish tha#the author did not put the romance element due to fandom pressure. Airplane ass writing in play here. Feeling more and more like Cucumber b#the day) it still feels icky. I am very much for bad meetings turning to love trope but god this is just annoying#I don't know. He is a good character. She is a good character. Everyone is a good character. Romance? Trash. Plot? Lost track#I think the main reason is that it's trying to pull the ''she is not like the other girls because she is not into his looks (lmao) and thus#they are fated'' like I don't want to say it but I really don't like the romance trope of ''they were not like the other girls because they#were the only person who did not want to fuck them. Thus the story can only end when they do would want to fuck them'' like bitch what#it's worse when I see someone hc'ing her as as/pec like.....I wish we could have that#I wish we could have as/pec characters in mainstream media without having to specifically keep typing and filtering for them#it hurts so bad.#it's one of the biggest reasons I can't be bothered to watch the other one#sigh.#is it so bad to want a story where the mc isn't attracted to the creep and remains not attracted to said creep (who also! Isn't! Attracted!#To! Her!)#like yeah yeah there probably is but I have to put effort into searching that up so I am going to complain for a few more seconds and go#back to sleep.#kk's rambles tag

I have horrible taste in men so naturally Double ended up being my favorite lmao, what are some facts you can share with us about him?
Double is a total psycho. I intentionally keep his more recentish backstory with MC kinda vague because I want people to be able to spin their own stories about MC and Double's interactions.
Here is some lore that isn't really touched on in the game:
- Double and MC are childhood sweethearts. Double has a really bad time growing up and because of it latched onto MC when they showed him kindness (defended him from bullying) Double sees MC as his one only 'family member' which is why he is PISSED when MC ditches him, he has abandonment issues stemmed DEEP from childhood and everything he has done up to that point is to guarantee MC won't leave him. So MC leaving him was next level betrayal for him.
Double was very sweet on MC as a kid he was bullied and MC stood up for him. Then when Double's affections were not received (or more likely) misunderstood he ended up using his ability to gain fame amongst their peers and started teasing, bulling and butting heads with MC while in middleschool. In highschool he kinda watched from afar and swooped in to become friends with MC senior year, where after they kinda just stayed together, college and on. In Double's mind it was always only MC all along. Which is why he says "more than family"
- I was thinking about making small character bios (but ultimately decided not to so I didn't feature creep) but in Double's bio for 'attraction' I was going to write: "Fortune favors the bold, and so does Double". Meaning that Double is attracted to bold personalities, someone that will push back against him and won't back down until they get what they want. Which is why by being rude to him or blunt towards him you will gain love points lol. Double likes a bad bitch.
- Double doesn't really feel 'love' in the same way most people do. He feels desperation , possessiveness, and anger, but 'love' is something that is a very...distant feeling for someone like him. He is a manipulator and ultimately a selfish person. He doesn't care much about MC's wellbeing, just that they will stay around.
- On Double's ending he leaves the front door open for MC to see if they will get away. He wants to watch them escape with their own determination. He is also smart enough to know that if he hangs around the apartment for too long Binary Star will find him and kill him. Ultimately, Double values his own life above everything else, so he isn't willing to bat the hornets nest unless he knows MC still has some force of will in them to get away. And that they are far enough away that they won't be under the watchful eye of Binary Star.
- Double studied architecture in college before he and MC dropped out into a life of crime. MC needed the money, so Double was game to help, as his ability (teleportation) is very useful.
- Double's weapon of choice is a black fixed blade tactical bowie knife.
- Double is 5'10
I left MC's ability (or lack thereof) vague because I wanted the player to decide if their MC had an ability or not and what it was.
Anyways, there's some facts off the top of my head. Anything else you are wondering, feel free to ask 💕

Prologue of Harrow the Ninth
Tumblr media
So the genre is still at least partially "murder mystery", that's cool. Especially since it looks like someone tried to murder Harrow in this prologue, also
So, the best I can guess about what is happening here is that they are fighting some sort of ??insectoid?? ??aliens?? or entities of some kind as part of the Emperor's war that he was talking about at the end of the last book? All of the characters in this scene seem to expect Harrow to die at the end of it, but I'm not sure they were actually anticipating someone stabbing Harrow with the rapier, I think they were expecting something to happen during this necromancy battle. However Harrow does say that she "doesn't intend to be murdered" so maybe she was expecting something like that? Also interesting that it's a rapier, given that the last book ended with her wielding Gideon's two-hander
Since the first chapter is "Fourteen months before the Emperor's murder" I gather this is a scene from the middle of the story that's been bumped up to the front so all of these questions will be answered later
Tumblr media
Interesting that she is calling the Emperor Teacher, I wonder if that is related to Teacher in the previous book wanting to be called that
Tumblr media
I don't think we have a reference for what letters these could be yet, do we?
Tumblr media
I actually have seen some references to Harrow being schizophrenic since I started this read, so this isn't really a surprise, but I'm interested to see how it's depicted
Tumblr media
This is actually so funny after an entire book of Gideon describing Ianthe with words like "repellent" and "anemic" and various synonyms for "bloodless". Types of people Harrow is attracted to: literal corpses and people who just look like corpses
Tumblr media
I don't know what she's talking about here yet, but "Harry" is officially the worst possible nickname for Harrow ever
Ianthe looks like she's playing the same role in this book as Cytherea played in the last book, i.e. being the creepy and evil person to start off their introduction by flirting with the MC? Only I already don't trust Ianthe to begin with because I already read the first book. But where Cytherea appealed to Gideon's willingness to empathize with everyone, Ianthe is going for this "join me and we will have ultimate power" bid, since Harrow seems to be at least somewhat bad at empathy. And Harrow isn't buying it, or at least not at this particular point in time
Tumblr media
Curious about this, also
Tumblr media
Ok, so this ship or space station or whatever that they're on is called the Mithraeum, I guess? This is kind of interesting here, because Harrow is worried about what will happen to her body when she goes into the River, but she also thinks she will die without returning to her body, which indicates being killed while in the River somehow. So I'm not sure if she actually anticipated being stabbed or not
Also curious what the Resurrection Beast is
Tumblr media
So that's at least the story that's being told about what they're fighting. I'm guessing it's probably slightly less mystical than the actual religious concept of Hell. Or is the River being referred to as "Hell"? The River seemed kind of neutral when mentioned in the glossary of the last book, so I'm guessing not
Tumblr media
She definitely wasn't half a Lyctor at the end of the last book, so I wonder what happened. She did ask the Emperor to extract Gideon from her and bring her back to life, to which he said it would damage both of their souls to do that, and I know that Gideon does eventually come back to life, and Gideon is a smudge in the Dramatis Personae of this book, so maybe Harrow tried to do this herself somehow and damaged herself in some way, but succeeded in removing Gideon and since she's no longer partly Gideon she's only partly a Lyctor now?
Something I just remembered: in the glossary at the end of the last book, it said that there were "seven full Lyctors" but in other places in the book it said that there were "eight Lyctors". So I'm guessing the one Lyctor that wasn't a "full Lyctor" was Anastasia who isn't afforded the title of Saint. But Anastasia must be an incomplete Lyctor in a different way than Harrow is here, because her cavalier isn't a smudge
Tumblr media
Cool fact about bees, by the way, they literally do this to wasps that invade their nests. They have a higher heat tolerance than the wasps, so they surround the wasp and vibrate until the wasp gets hot enough that it overheats and dies. I wonder if that was an inspiration for this battle, given all of the insect-based words
Kind of wondering where Harrow would have had occasion to hear a lot of sword sounds growing up, though
Tumblr media
Not sure what this is meant to be, but it reminds me of Gideon's mom saying "Gideon" after she was necromanced way back when. Gideon is three syllables, but Harrow ought to know those, shouldn't she? Or did she forget Gideon's name after doing whatever she did to remove Gideon? Now the smudge is making me think of when in the Stormlight Archive Dalinar couldn't remember his wife's name and just heard it as "shshshsh", it looks like a visual representation of white noise. I thought it looked like a bunch of characters typeset on top of each other, so I went and found where the .epub file of this book was stored on my computer to see if there was actual legible text in there that had just been zalgoed somehow with the zero-width joiner or something (I'm not sure if you can actually do that with ASCII, but there's probably some way to use it to product weird anomalous output), like some secret message of some sort, but no, sadly, it's just an image

hey! question: how did Anuli come to be?
HIi! Thank you so much for the question.
ANnnnddd... whoooo boi, this is a long and convoluted history of the 'many drafts of the land of the fallen fairies'.
Grab some popcorn, there will be plot twists.
Tumblr media
First came up with the 'Land of the Fallen Fairies' idea when I was around... ten-ish. I saw this book called 'the land of forgotten girls,' (just the cover, never read it) and I had watched the movie 'Fern Gully' in school, and had also learned of trees being able to communicate with each other from magic school bus. And thus, ten-year-old me decided to write a story about it, in the way you might imagine a ten-year-old writing a story.
Very overdramatic. No plot.
Basically it was about 'the last tree on the planet' and its fairy. They both lived next to a factory and no one on the plantet knew of thier existence. (Wow, spooky.)
The fairy (faer name was 'Oak'... which was very creative of me.) got stolen by some humans, who were children, but one of them worked for a scientist for some reason? They kept Oak in a jar where fae met the other fairy named Meadow (who was 'Oak's... mother? Or smth.). Oak eventually broke out and went to this 'hidden land' in the Bermuda triangle for reasons. (wow, spooky)
And I stopped at around there because I wasn't feeling nice while writing it anymore.
There are definitely iterations that I don't remember anymore, this is a seven-ish-year long project at this point after all, but here are the major ones.
The Floa and Naegi backstory.
I made these two dolls (that I don't have anymore). Floa was a redwood and Naegi was an evergreen. It was pretty much an 'enemies to best friends/platonic lovers / opposite attracts' sort of thing taking place in that Bermuda triangle island. They both watched the sunset together so yea.
Bloom
Insert the lychee tree that lives in a cave and made a bunch of doohickeys to survive and killed off faer younger 'siblings' accidently with... fire magic? At one point Bloom was a lychee tree and the whole 'fire magic' thing came from Mediterranean cypress's being immune to fire. I also made a doll for this one that started off as this tall and lanky and kind of scary crow-looking thing with long arms and burnt hands. Then it changed to a small deer thing, (Mediterranean cypresses are immune to deer too.) and it's legs kept breaking off.
The black fairy and Squioo
Another scrapped duo! The black fairy is based off the pando tree (and the only one so far that uses he/him pronouns) and the Pando tree is one large tree that looks like a lot of little ones in a huge forest. (It's a real thing! You can look it up.) And I think I had this whole thing where Squioo is another mediterranean cypress and fae died or something? I think at this point the land of the fallen fairies was more of a 'protective group' and fallen fairies were fairies that lost their tree, so they were almost 'apathetic zombies that could be dangerous if provoked'.
the houseplant
This is the iteration where it starts getting to where tLotFF starts looking how it does now. The scale isn't 'across the world' anymore and there is more of a focus on themes and always a protective guardian.
Although for this one the mc was called 'Amaris' and they started off in a houseplant store where everyone else shared memories. There wasn't really anything wrong with this one, I just didn't enjoy writing it.
Guardian territory
This is the previous version, and is also where you get Anuli. I just wanted something that would be easy for me to write, so I had Anuli use story metaphors for everything and be very contemplative, to the point of not knowing what is going on around faer. Fae isn't... 100% Anuli yet, but fae has the bones. In this version, it starts off with Kamari, Anuli and the sibling Maidoe (who got scrapped because fae had no purpose but may come up again later) leaving the 'bad place' to go to the guardian territory. I rewrote that version so many times and got super stressed out every time I wrote it because it had to be PERFECT.
The 'snippet version'
I changed my writing process to be what works for me and started from scratch, and so, after all that, we get to your question.
I wanted to write something that felt nice, that felt like my truth, especially since my life started feeling... monochromatic, and if I had to live for one thing and one thing only, that that thing better make me feel better.
(I just needed an outlet otherwise I would explode.)
And I always loved those 'metaphorical journeys with a very obvious message but it is told in a whimsical way' sort of stories, and I also wanted to tell my younger self to stop driving themself crazy looking for answers on how to make themselves 'better' in order to regain their lost childhood wonder, because 'better' was burning them out.
Also this video -
youtube
I wanted so hard to find that thing called 'happiness', to find that happy ending that I didn't let my story play out.
Anywho, I mention this because the writing process I follow is very 'theme based' and I wanted for my story to explore a theme more than anything else. (Think 'Little Prince' vibes mixed with a slice-of-life-children's show so I could be as dark as I wanted to).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Some of my earliest (for this version) planning pages! (I modified the 'Story Genuis' method to work better with my iterative, and impulsive self. Nowadays I write a 'scene' by exploring a sub-concept of my overall point, and writing out all the thoughts surrounding it, in five different pages at once.)
I needed Anuli to represent all of the aspects of myself that were 'too slow for society' and molded them around a bit to fit who Anuli wanted to be (fae wasn't as overdramatic and silly and metaphorical before.)
And as if this post wasn't long enough already, here are some extra things about where Anuli's traits come from <3
Anuli likes morbid stories because my parents didn't like how 'dark' my stories were, and where thinking of something happier and more 'inspirational for kids, new york times best seller', whereas I just wanted to explore this weird thing called existence. I didn't even think that version was so dark.
So I let Anuli tell the darkest possible things that fae can.
---
The Land of the Fallen Fairies slowly changed moreso to a more 'pixie-based-concept' on who is and isn't 'good enough to be part of society' rather than a 'zombie fairy'. I don't fully know what the criteria is for a fairy to be a fallen fairy, for now it's just 'can't keep up with regular society'.
----
Part of the reason Anuli's POV 'style' is the way it is, is because I wanted something that would be easier for me to write. There's very little scene description or character actions, 90% of it is thoughts and metaphors, and it's nice that the 'shortcut' that I put for myself so I could actually write something also works for the character I am writing.
---
For both Anuli and Kamari, both their names come from the origin of the tree. Anuli, the fiddle leaf fig, originates from Africa, and faer name means 'joy'
Kamari, who comes from... northern Africa and surrounding areas if I remember correctly, means 'moon'.
----
The land of the fallen fairies takes place in my backyard. So I don't really want to move (again... apparently the moving unspoken feelings I didn't know I had got expressed though the LotFF) because all the characters are outside. We got a magnolia, and I have a fiddle leaf inside my house for Anuli.
---
I knew I didn't want to have Anuli describe any feeling, not even tired-ness with a word. Fae has an internal world filled with sensations and emotions fae does not understand and uses faer stories to create faer own 'shorthand' for how to describe them. I really really like this aspect of faer, because it makes communication that much harder for faer, but that much easier (hopefully, I've been told that no one understands what I write.) to understand what fae is thinking. Fae has built up quite the shorthand over the course of the backstory, none of faer thoughts are understandable without context.
----
Anuli ended up liking sunflowers completely on accident. I needed to have something for Kamari to notice and prompt Anuli to tell stories about, and there was a small sunflower patch near the magnolia.
Tumblr media
---
Character design is a whole other thing. Before I made the doll, I drew a bunch of sketches based off all the character design videos I could find.
Tumblr media
(The ones with the horns were designs for the 'Amaris' previous iteration.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh wait! I remember this iteration. Anuli read the memories of dead pollywiggins for some reason before everyone else told faer that was bad and creepy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are some of my favorite Anuli drawings. I made a sticker out of the 'Responsibility' one.
Tumblr media
Anuli had a hoodie for some reason, I don't think most fairies wear clothes other than for accessorizing or practical purposes. I may have Anuli wear a cloak when fae comes out of the archives because the weather is changing to fall now and @imjusthereforeternity happens in real time, and Anuil is not meant for cold weather.
Tumblr media
getting closer.
Tumblr media
Last sketch is from @mylee-sketches for Maidoe. This was around - I think - the time I started making Anuli the doll, which was impulsive as I did not have some of the materials I wanted (it worked out in the end) and I did not plan out sizes.
Anuli the doll took three long months and fae is MASSIVE. (I ran out of the color for faer face and had to improvise with other colors to make faer body match). Fae is around the size of a newborn/1year old CHILD. I can hold faer while I'm writing stuff and fae can stand in my lap and be up to my chin in height. The biggest thing I will ever make and I do not think I'll be doing something of that caliber again for AWHILE at least.
Tumblr media
I got a desk recently and fae stands on that now.
Tumblr media
Fae also sits nicely on a bookshelf.
... I think that's it. As far as progression from idea to now over the past seven-ish years, this is about everything.
Thank you so much for the ask! And for reading this LONG post!

(Part 4/4)
(Earlier: Parts 1, 2, and 3)
Okay, finally getting to the 4th and last post talking about Tom Sturridge in his projects. There's not too much left to say as these are mostly cameos.
Vanity Fair (2004)- This was the first movie Tom was in as a grownup (edit: nope, this was the 2nd)- in period clothing (and looking like a million bucks, as you would suspect). Screentime: 2min. You can tell he's still finding his footing in all this. But he's got the it factor already.
Journey's End (2017)- Movie about Brit soldiers stuck in trenches waiting for death during WW2. Sam Claffin and Paul Bettany are in this and I recognized neither before seeing credits 🤦‍♀️ Anyway, Tom plays a bad soldier: drinks and girls are his forte, fighting- not so much. His character is in this movie to basically show the bone-chilling, hope-crushing, cruelly pointless side of wars. He uses his 3/4 scenes to drive that point home like a master. There's one super emotionally charged scene with Sam that sears into the mind- they both absolutely chew it up.
Song to Song (2017)- Tom being in this movie is just the most RANDOM thing in the world, guys. Song to Song is about the music industry and rockstar life, and Tom shows up for like 2mins to play Ryan Gosling's hometown farmland brother of all things??? Wut. 2 lines of dialogue. Cute hair, tho. Cute everything.
Hello Apartment (2018)- Slice-of-life short film about how we all leave our mark in the spaces we move through. Dakota Fanning made this and asked Tom to be in it- they've been friends since doing Effie Gray. Tom is MC's stormy bf- a bit of kissing, a bit of pouting, a bit of shouting. Worth it. (Aside: some STUNNING shots in this, kudos to Dakota). This is on youtube.
That's it, actually. Only movie of Tom's I haven't gotten to is Junkhearts (2011). It's on Amazon Prime for $4 which is worth it, but it seems like an intense movie and I'll take a break before trying to watch this one.
A significant part of Tom's career has been theater work. From what I've gathered, seems like he's done some phenomenal work there- both in UK and US. Got cool awards and noms. Of course, if your play isn't Hamilton, it doesn't get to be on any screen, so there's no way to see any of those now. The one I'm most gutted about is 1984 (2017) on Broadway. I love the og classic by George Orwell, and by all accounts this adaptation/interpretation was banging (AND controversial!). Tom playing a role like Winston Smith... I'd have loved it so fuckin much * screaming-into-pillow break*
How does Tom choose his projects?
"The first thing I’m drawn to is a piece of writing, to an author, to a director. Weirdly, it’s rarely a character. I want to work with people or with texts that push me and make me learn things that I think I can’t do. Because if I think I can do it, then I can’t surprise myself. And if I can’t surprise myself, then I’m definitely not going to surprise an audience." -Tom for Interview magazine, 2022
Why does he often do troubles characters?
"... I think what I’m attracted to is being able to explore a spectrum of emotion. It’s easier to find comedy in something sad than it is to find darkness in something funny. I can be all kinds of people when the darkness is there. Also, the first character I ever played onstage was a boy who murders all of his schoolmates [in Punk Rock]. I do think there’s something to be said by, “You get stuck in a gorge that you start with.” People have always gone, “Oh, yeah. He’s the fucked-up guy.” - same
Here's something about me: I love falling in love with men on silver screen. It's the only space where it's okay to be in love with a version of someone you made in your head because you're not going to know any other version. The only space you get to channel your feelings six ways to Sunday: write posts, write stories, draw, make any art- people will actually celebrate those (whereas try talking to your friend about a new irl crush for five days straight, on the sixth they'll smack you upside your head). The feelings are intense because these men are deliberately performing for you, the emotions forever unsullied because they're not gonna come hurt you (unless they're being cancelled lol). And they're all the finest specimens! So, yeah, I love it, and it happens periodically. What's rarer, tho, is that I get attracted to an actor's whole personality. I mean, like, all of these hot men are hella charming, and you can yassify almost anyone based on interview moments. But, idk, it doesn't always click with me, and I love a character, ship a couple, then move on. Tom, tho, is going to be one of those 2/3 permanent ones. I just find him interesting which to me, is the thing. (And also, he turned out to be one of those rare people in life who lets you know things about yourself that you didn't know before. Huh. Who knew?) And yeah, okay, he's very hot and insanely talented which started this whole intense phase but while this won't last, a genuine fondness and love will. He has a place in my heart forever. It's been such a good time discovering him that I'm legit grateful to the universe.
I'll do a bonus post with links to Tom interviews/vids/ stuff that are worth checking out. Until then, guys.

Regarding the ask about ships with unrequited love and the role of women, something that I have realized the more I have delved into reading manga and watching anime, but especially in Shonen, it's that there are very bad extremes with female characters. Over the years and with the fact that many women have started to read shonen, whether we want to accept it or not, it's a genre that is mostly oriented towards men and seeks to be attractive to them, female readers have begun to the extreme of hate female characters or complain about them for the simple fact that their characters have romance or romantic feelings and that the only way to be a girlboss is if they prioritize themselves away from any romantic feelings. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand where this frustration comes from since many female characters only have as their personality object to be damsels in distress, to be the object of desire, without real or relevant weight in the plot, it's normal that many readers see this type of character and hate the idea of a romance because in the long run perhaps it's all that the female character will represent, a love interest and cheerleader for the MC.
But the problem isn't romance as a central component of the story or that there is a character whose center and development is focused on love, because many interesting things can be done with characters whose motivation or center is love in all its types, but when we talk about romantic love a character can have the best development and plot from a destructive approach to love, from an altruistic love, etc. there are hundreds of ways in which love can guide a character without it coming back to the one-dimensional character. However, in the vast majority of shonen, romances aren't presented in this way and romantic love is that addition that seems to be there to fill a quota and the happy ending, this is where the romance and the romantic feelings of the female characters turns sour for female readers who focus on looking for the girlboss who realizes she doesn't need a man and even gets to the point where she has to be tough and unfeeling because you're not that much of a girlboss if you show too much weakness. But them we have a love story like Naruto, because as many SNS shippers say Naruto is itself a great love story, Naruto as a character is guided by his love for Sasuke, there is no instance in the manga where Naruto's growth and development isn't attached to Sasuke as his driving force, as his most precious person, as someone who wants to make Sasuke stronger when everyone else seeks to weaken him. Naruto spends his entire story in search of Sasuke, his character is tied to his feelings for Sasuke that are counted with one hand those events in which Sasuke passes into the background (possibly his fight against Pain is the only exception). The same thing happens with Sasuke, although it's true that Sasuke's plot moves more independently from Naruto in relation to revenge against his clan, even so Sasuke's feelings for Naruto are present at every step, from the beginning with Sasuke giving his life for Naruto even if it means not fulfilling his goal, Orochimaru's intervention because Naruto had too much influence on Sasuke, Itachi and his "advice" to develop the sharingan, VOTE 1 and how Sasuke is affected by Naruto during the second part until we reach VOTE 2.
Naruto and Sasuke are two characters who are literally guided by love and it intervenes in each of their movements. I think what I'm trying to say is that it's not romance that ruins a story, whether they're female or male, the big problem is that when we focus on women they only play the role of love interest in a story without relevance or weight, the problem isn't a female character with romance as its center, the problem is the female character whose romance is the center but she doesn't occupy a role that allows her to advance, which is why many times we end up with flat female characters or with obsessive love (Sakura and Hinata) whose fandom tends to pity or deify their feelings as proofs of pure love or the opposite when we have a fairly built female character the slightest sign of romance is seen as a negative effect .
i agree. though the fact that naruto is in love with sasuke/is gay/has sasuke as a driving force pisses a lot of men off. they like naruto, his powers and everything but they complain about the gayness. though that also happens because they resent sasuke and want naruto to “put him in his place”. so it’s not really a matter with the romance specifically, it’s more because it’s gay and it involves sasuke, a lot of dudebros are still moved with their relationship and resolution, some people still have a heart huh. and yes, naruto and sasuke grow and develop their perceptions and feelings for one another, it’s part of their character development, unlike with sakura and hinata that are unlikeable already and remain the same. and like- they are supposed to be written like that. sakura had many opportunities to develop and be better towards sasuke, but kishimoto didn’t want her to, he doesn’t like her character, he doesn’t want her to get closer and understand sasuke, you say she is in a role in which she’s not allowed to advance, i’d change “allowed” for “supposed”. and same thing about hinata, though she is much more of a side character than sakura with the difference that she got popular, so she doesn’t even have those opportunities to grow because kishimoto doesn’t care much about his side characters in the first place. the romance isn’t the matter, their characters are.

There's also in Sol's route a Character named Peipei who was in love with Sol.
Tumblr media
But in Sol's Route, Sol doesn't reciprocate her feeling. She still cares for Sol, but she doesn't do anything bad to MC in the story. In fact MC was getting Jealous of Peipei because she and Sol had a bond that MC mistake that Sol might be in love with Peipei. (I might be remembering this wrong)
But she isn't a bad person, in fact Sol ask for help to protect MC from Eater (The main threat of the story) Since her father is a crime boss and she has a reputation of being a dangerous as Sol who is a former mod boss
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm saying these because I don't want the misconception of just because there's a female character interacting with the love interests that doesn't mean their a threat. PrettyBusy knows when to add drama in a relationship.
Sujee and Peipei are example that they can make a bitter female rival and a ally that does have feeling for one of the love interests, but doesn't have bad feeling towards the MC.
Plus we got Shallote who is best friends with MC and also is attracted to MC
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To a point that the added a bonus DLC where you can end up with Shallote

The meaning of Goh
Even though the original script and plot of the gacha game Obey Me! are already predetermined by the developers and the choices you make to achieve the relationships or the lore revelations you're seeking to obtain, there is a loooooooooot of underestimated − or unused? − elements that we can make work of to create our own story with our own very unique MC (our main character).
[DISCLAIMER : the game has made a point of not revealing the gender (or lack thereof), ethnicity, age (although this aspect is a bit ambiguous), background or deep/real personality of the story's protagonist. This post is about my OC and my OC only, so please don't feel obligated to refer to this fictional character when playing the game.]
[SPOILERS : since this is a character analysis, of course there will be spoilers of all the seasons that are currently out. You have been warned!]
For my part, HUGO YATSURUGI is the original character I designed to be the MC of my playthrough of Obey Me! :
He is a human with non-magical habilities (like stated in the scenario and main character global description) and a male in the flesh and in the mind (he/his).
His family and friends mostly nickname him Goh, and that's because he told them to do so.
During the entire season 1 until the ellipse in lesson 19, he is 18 yo and then 19 as of December 25, 2019 − which means he's born on the Christmas day of year 2000.
He has short (at the beginning) and a bit messy brown hair, Caucasian skin, pretty average body height (1m70 / 5'7'') and shape (not very muscular or skinny, just the right body to stay healthy according to his standards), chocolate brown eyes a tiny bit stretched asianly like.
Tumblr media
(Here is the most ressembling image I could find of how I designed him in my head → AI Art found on Google Images)
I know, physically described like that, I made him look pretty average, ''normal'', maybe even insignificant, but that's the whole purpose of this charadesign.
He has brown hair and eyes, which are the second most and most common pigmentations of their color chart categories, his body is not perfectly in shape like Beelzebub, nor is he ridiculously good looking like Asmodeus (and all the other characters, let's be honest). He has lived for less than two decades and know very little of the world he once thought he knew well before being dragged to the Devildom, and he has obviously not a single idea of how the magic looming between the three worlds and connecting them works.
In short, I made him look exactly like the weak and pathetic creature most demons and angels think human beings are and, like that, I created some sort of paradox : seven of the most powerful demons that are currently existing and who were pretty set up on their own interpretations and perceptions of the human kind are attracted and intrigued by the in flesh representative of the label ''ordinary''.
I mean, just take a look at Solomon and you'll understand what I'm saying. Solomon has everything to himself, must it be the magic, the relations, the freedom to go where he wants to or the mere power/resources. His physique screams ''I'm special! Look at how powerful and shady mysterious I look everyone'', and that's not a bad thing considering his will to remind everyone that he is the most capable and mighty sorcerer of the three worlds, but Goh isn't that kind of person and certainly don't want to be.
Tumblr media
(Solomon's Box | Obey Me! Game Resources (fan-made) | Karasu-OS.com)
So, to summarize, Goh − physically speaking − is the definition of ordinary, of normal, of the freedom to be without the constraint of any external source (ex : being recognized as King Solomon the Wise) − at least for the time being, because the next seasons change that aspect of his character without him noticing it.
જ⁀➴
But what about the intangible parts of his existence? What about his own designation as an existing, sentient being?
I'm talking here of his name.
First name : Hugo
Last name / family name : Yatsurugi / Salvador
Nickname : Goh
Since I'm a big fan of secret meanings and symbolisms of all sorts, I think it's interesting to dig a bit deeper into the signification and origin of the names I chose when I decided to create Goh.
Let's start by his nickname, since he's most commonly called like that by the others − because he told them to call him like that, his friends didn't come up with that nickname.
If I'm honest with you, when I first started to play the game, I had just finished the recent episodes of Pokemon Journeys and I really liked the name of Goh, so I decided that it was going to be the name of my MC 😂
Of course, since it was a quick without any thoughts decision, I considered changing it, but I decided to do some research on the signfication first − because let's be honest, ''Goh'' isn't the most common or usual first name.
In fact, ''Goh'' is mostly known as a Chinese or Korean surname, but can also be found as a Japanese given name.
''Goh is a common last name found among Overseas Chinese communities around the world. In fact, “Goh” is the transliteration of several different Chinese surnames. Its meaning varies depending on how it is written in Chinese, and which dialect it is pronounced in.'' (Source : Goh Chinese Last Name Facts – My China Roots)
It's majorly popular in Singapore, United States and Malaysia, and often associated with the surname ''Wu'' because of the similarities between the two hanzi (吴 / 吳 [Wu / Goh]). Basically, it means an ''area comprising southern Jiangsu, northern Zhejiang and Shanghai, [and the] name of states in Southern China at different historical periods'' (Source : Goh Chinese Last Name Facts – My China Roots)
This surname is also pretty similar in minnan (Southern Min) pronunciation with gǒu (狗), which is the literal translation of ''dog'', but it's something I'll talk about in more details in an other post that'll dig deeper into the family relationships of my OC.
The Korean ''Goh'' is a romanized version of the common surname Ko (Hangul : 고; Hanja : 髙 / 高).
''According to the Samguk Sagi [a historical record of the Three Kingdom of Korea], the Goguryeo royal family claimed descent from the mythical god Gao Yang, who was the grandson of the Yellow Emperor of Chinese mythology, and thus took the surname of “Go” (高)'' (Source : Ko (Korean surname) - Wikipedia)
Its signfication is ''high'', which is not very surprising given that its supposed origin is from a mythical god, but it's still an interesting hasard to notice (*wink*).
Finally, there is the Japanese given name Gō/Go/Gou/Goh, a first name mostly masculine and one that can be written in six different ways (豪, 剛, 強, 昂, 郷 or 江). The most commonly used are 豪 (overpowering, powerful, superior) and 剛 (strong, sturdy, brave), but I tend to personally prefer this one : 昂, meaning ''rise''.
Again, you can see that there is this connection with a certain elevation, something to surpass or to reach that needs Goh to rise up and high and strong (*wink wink*).
When I did my researches for this nickname − which was originally supposed to be a first name −, I felt that those Korean and Japanese significations and meanings were pretty fitted for the character I wanted to build, so I decided to stick with it. The Chinese origin only came to use later, when I started to establish the nationality and ethnic origin of Goh.
જ⁀➴
Besides, speaking of nationality and ethnicity, you can notice in the picture I shared above that Goh doesn't look very Japanese, and his first name doesn't sound Japanese either. That's because Hugo is a metis (mixed blood). He was born American − Texan, to be more precise − of a Mexican-American mother and a Chinese-Japanese father, but he has his Japanese nationality.
Yatsurugi is obviously is father last name, inherited from his paternal grandparents, but Goh doesn't consider Yatsurugi to be his family name. For him, Salvador, his mother last name, his more a family name to him than Yatsurugi, and that's because of some beef between him and his asian family side that will be explore somewhere else.
For the time being, let's just analyze the names of Yatsurugi and Salvador.
Yatsurugi (八釼) litteraly means ''eight swords'', and just with that, I would be able to create a connection between his familial lineage and his fate, but let's elaborate a bit. 八 is the common kanji for the number eight − 8 −, but in this last name context, it can also signify ''eight times, occasions'' or ''eight in order'' as well as it can imply the action to ''divide'' or suggest the time of ''two o'clock''.
The number 8 isn't trivial as we know that, before falling from heaven, Lucifer and his brothers had a sister, Lilith, which would've brought the counter to eight demons if she had survived after the fall. When Goh appeared in their lives, he was the eight in a sequence of order to set foot in the Devildom. Without really wanting it, by forging pacts with the brothers to try and reconcile Lucifer and Belphegor, Goh was momentarily the cause of a more important dividing between the eldest and the youngest when he revealed to the former his intention. Moreover, in numerology, the miror hour of 2H02 is basically a sign of kind and comforting reminder - as if Lilith sent Goh to reassure her brothers that everything would be alright - and the raw signification of 8 is prosperity, luck and wealth.
As for 釼, it can be interpreted as ''sword'' or ''sword with blades on both sides''. The sword the name is referring to is a tsurugi (剣), ''a specific type of Japanese straight, double-edged sword used in antiquity'' (Source : Tsurugi (sword) - Wikipedia).
''Nowadays it is mainly associated with very remote historical times, as well as legends and mythology. [...] The most famous example is the legendary sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi [, which is one of three Imperial Regalia of Japan. It was originally called Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi (天叢雲剣, “Heavenly Sword of Gathering Clouds”), but its name was later changed to the more popular Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (“Grass-Cutting Sword”). In folklore, the sword represents the virtue of valor.'' (Source : Kusanagi no Tsurugi - Wikipedia)
At first, I wasn't very convinced by the sword part of the name, even less when I realised the actual name meant ''eight swords''. Although, I thought about the utility of a sword and came to a pretty satisfying conclusion that can settle the entire meaning of this last name :
Goh enters into pacts with seven of the most powerful demons of the Devildom, seven Rulers of the Underworld, seven double-edged swords in the sense that they can hurt and protect at the same time.
But what about the eight?
Well, it can refer to the power up of Goh throughout the different seasons and the path he's choosing to follow by trying to control his immense magic strength. He's doing his best to not hurt anyone again with it, but there will always be the possibility of loosing the thin control the Ring of Light gives him.
(Also, highlights to the Japanese names translations of the legendary tsurugi : the first could be a reference to the one Lilith once represented [the heavenly one] and the second, to Goh [grass-cutting as a reference to the human world reincarnation and descendance].)
In the case of Salvador − the last name that Goh considers his real family name, but doesn't wear for some reasons −, it's inherited from his mother Mexican side, and thus arbor a spanish and latin ethymology. Salvador, meaning ''saviour'' in Catalan, Spanish, and Portuguese, is normally an indirect way of naming a Messiah − and a not so subtle way to refer to the unique being that is Goh.
The ''saviour'' part is not directly refering to my OC, in the sense that he is not really the one who saves, but the one who is saved − of course by his mother family side, because it wouldn't make any sense otherwise. The reason I don't see Goh as a saviour, even though he managed to help the brothers patch their familial relationships, is because he didn't really saved them, he helped them to communicate by being a bridge all along, the neutral party in the equation (Simeon just verbalized what MC always did since the beginning regarding the Belphie matter in lesson 17).
જ⁀➴
But what about is given name? Hugo doesn't sound either spanish or asian...
Actually, Hugo is of German provenance (and Latin if we go back even further in ethymology), originally written ''Hugh'' (hug if you can see through it), and means “mind/spirit” and “intellect”, as well as "soul", "thought" and "heart". Goh has a naturally unfazed personality and his curious mind never ceases to fuel an impressive memory and capacity for analysis and deduction (one of the many reasons why Satan loves him by the way).
[Source : Hugo - Baby Name Meaning, Origin and Popularity (thebump.com)]
Although, even if he is an intellect at heart, that doesn't mean that he can't be kind and attentive to others − Lucifer (and Barbatos in Nightbringer) often say that he is way to nice and gentle for his own good sometimes.
There is also an Italian version of the name, which can be written Ugo or Hugo, and that connects a bit more with the Spanish-Mexican root of Goh family.
જ⁀➴
So, yeah.
Hugo Yatsurugi is quite the extraordinary.

Besides jjk, what other media do you like?
Hm, if we're talking about completely different media (not manga, I mean), I'm a pretty big fan of the Warhammer novels, especially Warhammer 40k. I like the universe overall, but I haven't played the ttrpg yet, only watched a match when I was very young, and I still couldn't bring myself to spend loads of money on figures and painting kits....so novels it is. But there's great stuff there, so I'm not complaining in the slightest.
Warhammer has a pretty divisive reputation, in part deserved, but by having Adeptus Mechanicus (ultra-religious cyborgs) and Necrons (pseudo-ancient egyptian space robots) be my favourite sections and avoiding anything Space Marine and Horus Heresy (most popular novel series), I seemed to have dodged the most toxic parts. There are actually parts that I would say are really progressive. It's certainly the only time I've read a novel (Imperator: Wrath of the Omnissiah) with a genderless mc that uses neopronouns and where the story doesn't focus on ver gender/identity.
I just really like how versatile the universe is. Sci-fi with prominent horror elements and an abundance of species and societies, where you can tell basically every kind of story you could think of. The epic battles against Tyranids (space locusts) or Orcs are most commonly known, but you can also have stories about your average citizen in a hive city or some Mechanicus researcher on some far off planet. Stories about non-humans are thankfully also getting more numberous. Recently there was a great book series about Necrons that explored their origins and culture and likened their forceful transformation from humanoids to robots to dysphoria, which was really interesting (there are also actual trans people, a trans woman and a nonbinary person).
What I especially appreciate about Adeptus Mechanicus in particular is that I have an abundance of mad scientist stories, that not only feature the appropreate amount of horror, but also lack tedious romantic subplots (most Warhammer stories do) and also talk about neurodivergency, their negative perception and oppression by the Imperium ("regular humans") and a bunch of gender fuckery. You have vaguely humanoid shaped piles of walking metal with deep booming voices, who use she/her pronouns and everyone roles with it because who would dare to question her? Or there's one Mechanicus ambassador to the Imperium, who used technology to have the appearance of a young attractive man because that makes negotiations easier. We don't know what the ambassador used to look like and it's never considered important. Or a tech priest who gave himself the voice of his favourite opera singer. A tech priestess who made herself an armour with boobs and wide hips. While others might choose to become nothing more than a brain in a tank, she chooses to project femininity and we never find out what she looks like underneath because how she wants to be perceived is more important. I just really like that diversity.
But unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way and the most loud and notorious fans are the ones who live out their white supremacy wet dreams through the Imprium and particularly Space Marines, not realizing that worshipping and dying for a corpse is actually a bad thing. Having an inquisition, that functions as a xenophobic thought police isn't something you should strive towards. But power suits cool, so....
You actually see this big divide in the book reviews. For example, I have read pretty much all Titans (big robots you can pilot but that have their own feral consciousness, kinda like Eva) novels currently out and the majority of them have female leads, prominent female characters or just female pilots in general. It's not a big deal and I never see anyone comment on it in reviews. Then we got a Horus Heresy novel focused on Titans and the Warhammer bros went apeshit because the main characters are a squad of all-women pilots. Calling it man-hating and toxic feminism and all that. To be fair, single-gender pilot squats are pretty rare, I never encountered them before, but it's just one, kinda culty, group of a mother and her daughters (not all biological). And it's really just the pilots who are women. Those Titans, especially the bigger ones, have an entire crew inside for maintenance, assistance, mechanics etc. and those people have all kinds of genders. They also never say they hate men, it's just a tradition. One woman hates one particular man, but that's because he's her ex. Nothing dramatic. But of course those fans don't care. I'm just glad they apparently aren't reading the other novels.
So yeah, bit controversial, but I've read a lot of great Warhammer novels and trans people being Warhammer fans is by now a bit of a meme. I actually had a few dates that started out as "holy shit, another trans person that's into Warhammer!" Quite funny.

About this!! Ochette's character isn't racist for the reason you gave. It's racist cause based on the name Toto'Haha you think it's gonna be inspired by Hawaii then you look at the island and it's a hot mess. The one poc majority country has poc that cannot speak properly and who are half monster. And they are half monster as divine punishment, that sounds like mormonism!!! That's bad!!
Also it's bad to give poc characters light colored or white hair cause it reinforces the idea that poc are only attractive or pretty if they look like or can pass as white.
Ochette is also loli bait or whatever the word was. She's 20 and looks like she's 10 and acts like she's 10. And not to mention that they didn't even commit on the "beastlings can't speak human language" thing. They made Ochette speak "properly" because she's an Mc and they couldn't possibly have a main character speak like an idiot.
And whenever there's a nature themed character or a character that can talk to animals, they're always a poc which reinforces the idea that poc are uncivilized.
Also just making the non humans poc was so so horrible. Most of irl racial genocide relies on dehumanizing poc and trying to justify the murder by saying "oh well, they're not human anyway".
And for Kaldena, it's not as bad as Ochette. Mostly it's just cause she's one of the only woc in the entire game and she's a victim of abuse, manipulation and as a result, she becomes evil and, again, gets turned into a non human monster because of course poc aren't human! /s
White hair thing again as well.
Ok proof read before sending and I remembered two things.
Ochette being pedo bait also contributes to the infantalization of racial minorities and the idea that poc are inherently stupid.
The beastlings are depicted as being selfish and mean because they do not want to share their land with the humans. Oh goody, the poc don't want to give up the land they've been living on for ages to colonizers. And the natives are the evil ones. Lovely. /s
Also not angry or upset at you, you just got something wrong and you said in your post you're open to what other people have to say. You're awesome for trying at all and I think that should be acknowledged :)
oh i agree 100% with all of this (didn't actually know about the white hair thing until now tho. very glad i heard that one cuz i did have a poc character with white/grey hair in the OCtopath cast and that is gonna get changed now), but that's not quite what i meant.
what i was trying to say was that the racism in ochette and kaldena's stories, while unjustified, were not central to their stories. ochette's story is about what a force of good interacting with a deeply flawed world would look like (and quite frankly, i dont think her race is super vital to it), and kaldena's is about her inability to process her grief (honestly, i'd be the same) after HER ENTIRE PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN FRONT OF HER.
the loli-baiting and animalization of poc and all that slop could quite frankly be removed from ochette's story SPECIFICALLY and it would be largely unchanged. removing that all from the world of solistia in general would be far messier, but i was referring specifically to ochette in the post i made.
in summary, i did not intend to make statements as to WHY ochette and kaldena's stories were racist, and instead was attempting to make a statement as to why that racism could to a certain extent be removed without much detriment to their stories.
please note, with retrospect (and the information you've provided), i've changed my stance on kaldena, where the racism could not simply be removed from her story. it's kinda stuck there.

Hellooo, I'm going to tell you about the original character in my enhypen story so you have some background information and a little about myself while I'm at it 😊.
Her name is Esmeralda Adel. You can probably guess from the name that she isn't English or Korean, but in fact, Mexican and Arabic. I'm not Mexican, but I am Egyptian. I was always fascinated with Hispanic culture, so I decided to write a story where the mc is half half. I'll do my best research, but if there are any Mexicans out there, I welcome you. Pls help if you don't mind?
Her appearance and personality are based on me and the people I know. She's a med student, my sister is a med student. She has curly hair, me and my sister have curly hair. She's not very slender, but not very chubby, she has curves, like me. I have taken a long time to come to term with my body, because I always compared myself to thinner girls, who ate what they wanted and stayed like that. I envied their fast metabolism. I have come to terms with the fact that I need to work hard to be healthy, and even that maybe those girls I compared myself have problems too, that I'm not struggling alone. Now I am trying to become fit, so even if I'm not the thinnest, I'm healthy, because that's all that matters. I have a pretty thin waist compared to my hips but a heavy...cleavage, so you may think I'd be happy about it because it has been an "ideal figure" for women (which is stupid because all body types are beautiful 😤) but you won't believe how much I struggle to find clothes that complement me.
Anyways, I'm ranting, let's get back on track. She is smaller than enhypen (especially next to Niki because let's face it that dude's a giant) but not that small, she's actually 170cm, so my height. She is very generous, and very patient. She's really smart. Like really smart. She graduated school at 16 years old because she skipped the two grades when you learn out to read and count and basic math, she already knew it (her mother taught her). This is based on a friend of mine who actually did skip two grades when she was young. Um, what more.
She has the most random thoughts sometimes, like me. She's very pretty, and she knows she's attractive, so that makes her even hotter. She's pretty fit, and actually works out alot muscle mommy.
She's lived in both Egypt and Mexico for about four years each when she was young and came to France when she was ten. She has a great relationship with her mother. The two are very close, they're best friends and confidants, they tell each other anything. This is based on my relationship with my own mother. I love her more than anything. She's arabic (both of my parents are) but she isn't really like I've heard arabic parents are. She's cool with anything as long as I'm safe, happy and have good results scholarly. She's someone I can gossip with, and I've learned a lot from her. You can probably tell that I really admire her 😅. Esmeralda's father is also someone she gets along with great (but not as much as with her mom). Her parents divorced when she was in middle school, but they did so on good terms. They fell out of love and decided it was best to separate. They get along, and Esmeralda's mom actually loves her ex's new wife, the two are good friends!
Also, if Esmeralda seems unrealistic because she doesn't seem to have any bad sides, then you're both right and wrong. She's learned what to do and how to act through trial and error. She was raised right, and has had an excellent role model that encouraged healthy habits (mental or physical), so she wasn't "perfect" from the bat, her personality right now is a product of her past environment and the people she frequented or knew. She also has a few bad habits. She stays up all night and has trouble accepting help, she has trouble relieving stress and tends to push away people when she's sad or angry. She's working on it though! And growing up she's always wanted to make her mother proud, so she worked hard and tried to learn as many things as possible. Her mother loves her and is proud of her of course, but now Esmeralda thinks that if she fails to do something then she will lower her mother's image of her (which isn't true, but is a product of always trying to be better than her past self): she's an overacheiver. She happens to be extremely petty 😅
But she is also a projection of how I wish to be. She is the person I long to become in the future, and I decided that if I can't write about a perfect character in fiction, where am I going to do that? That's what fanfictions and fiction stories are made for! So there you go, a bit about me and and my character. ;)
(Ps: I hope the followers I have are excited for my first fic!)

I wanna first address how I see the Parent characters and their relationship with one another or atleast the ones I can still remember.
I will be adding more in the future but for now we talk about their highschool lives.
Let's set the stage, The main cast (excluding Enki, Terry, Derek and Rachel) live in a rural town somewhere in O'khasis and like I said since we will talk about their high school lives, this will take place in "O'khasis High".
Side note: since Jess hates putting MUCH NEEDED last names, I will do it myself, some are Canon, but most have been changed.
•Slyvanna Shalashaska
In highschool, I will be keeping the whole "yandere" thing but changing it to something less problematic going with something in the lines of "obsessive" and/or just flat out crazy.
(I will also be taking out the " yandere-chan emotionless" thing just because I don't like it and instead I will replace it with a "she likes the weird flustered feelings" or just simply that she just gets what she wants, either way it's just Slyvanna being crazy.. obsessive.)
Slyvanna is the school's popular but not popular girl, She's popular in the way that everybody in the school knows who she is but they don't hang out around her.
From Yandere Sim I will be keeping the whole "senpai" thing and ways of eliminating rivals, and by eliminating I do not mean killing them like in the game, but the other mechanics like: befriending, match making, bribing, changing other people's reputation and many more.
But other than her weird obsession.. Slyvanna is pretty normal for her age, like aphmau she's smart but fails in math. (why? I want to)
I also put Slyvanna in the debate club just because.. I think she's a good liar and she's just persuasive in general, she makes up good stories and makes people believe it.
(This comes handy for her when she starts changing people's reputations)
•Zackary Everton (Zack)
Suprise Suprise Zack is the "Senpai" of the school, there's actually no reason for Zach to be senpai.. I just.. added him because it's my story and I do what I want.
Anyways, unlike most MC love interests Zack actually has a personality! Omg so shocking!!
Zack is the popular guy and there's an actual reason for it, he's very attractive, Zack has got this dark Wavy brown hair, his gorgeous orange-yellow sunset eyes with long eyelashes and other than being literally so pretty, Zack is actually a pretty kind person during High school.
(I personally believe that Aphmau took her looks and most of her personality from Zack rather than Slyvanna.)
Zack is also a really smart guy, straight A student if you will.(being a doctor and witch craft wizard guy in the future)
He tutors for extra cash because college. I can ramble how much of a pretty nerd Zack is but that will be for another time.
Zack is also in the soccer and track team just because his mom put him in it to keep him fit but even though it was against his will he's still pretty good at it. (Also this is where Aph gets her Athletic genes from.)
Zach even tho being "Mr. Popular" of the school rather than partying, he's normally is just in his house or in another friends house, why? Zach just doesn't enjoy parties.
I don't really know how to describe it but Zach does things that only benefit him, but when he starts seeing how his actions affect others he starts going weak and starts questioning his decisions.
He's bad but he actually takes pity on the people he hurt but in the end as long as he gets what he wants, he slowly forgets about it.
•Eric FireFist
(Last name may most likely change)
Eric is the "wtf he goes here?" Student just because he doesn't show up the entire school year during freshman year and honestly it surprises people how he passed freshman year.
For the most part Eric isn't really a trouble maker he's either just late, doesn't wanna show up, lazy or he just doesn't like the class.
And then suddenly Eric starts going to class when he met Slyvanna, Eric doesn't obsessively crush on people like Slyvanna does but he does try to impress them with his little skills.
Eric actually started getting better grades to impress Slyvanna and made sure she saw how well he cooked during home economics.
Eric is mostly pretty chill, he's obliviously "Slyvanna's Partner in Crime" he doesn't know that Slyvanna is using him to get connections or even doing some of the dirty stuff for her but that doesn't matter to him since he gets to spend time with her.
Eric is actually in the newspaper club, hence why Slyvanna wanted to befriend him to get them juicy connections.
Most weekends you can find Eric helping around animal shelters and doing community service because his parents make him do it.
•Elizabeth Lavena
Ah yes, Elizabeth. Where do I begin with her?
She's just a she-devil character from the start, she creates most of the problems and fights that happen in the school and no one knows that she causes the said problems.
Elizabeth is the kind of person to act stupid and unaware of what's happening around her but is actually the one to be pulling the strings.
Elizabeth doesn't even do this for her own gain- well I mean sometimes she does it for money and power but most of the time she does it because she thinks it fun and hilarious.
Elizabeth was doing all of this undetected until Zack caught her but didn't report her.
Elizabeth was going to smoke behind the bleachers when Zack suddenly popped put of Irene knows where which also scared Elizabeth.
Zack simply tells Elizabeth to stop smoking and starts lecturing her and then Elizabeth starts being smug and says that he has nothing to use against her and Zack just pulls out a literal BINDER filled with Elizabeth's wrong doings with PROOF.
(Zack got all this from Slyvanna, to anybody who was wondering.)
Instead of Elizabeth being nervous that Zack literally has a binder that could send her to Juvenile Detention she instead finds what the hell Zack did attractive. She finds it attractive.
She finally found someone was worth her time and attention, not on the same intelligence level as hers, but the effort is there.
Elizabeth is mostly an average student, you can normally just find her smoking and planning her next "evil plan" in suspicious abandoned houses in the prohibited part of the town.
Elizabeth is in drama club because she's dramatic. I'm kidding it's because she actually has a passion for acting.
•Zianna Bridget
Best girl Zianna!
Zianna is actually a pretty consistent character, she's kind, sweet, caring, loving, good-natured and she doesn't have a single bad Muscle, bone, vein or cell in her body.
Zianna is actually the prettiest girl in the school with Maria just right behind her, she had a lot people asking her out on dates and parties.
Zianna's family is actually the model family in the town and for the correct reasons, Father is a good role model, the mother is kind-hearted, and Zianna is Zianna.
Zianna tho not blessed by academic smarts was blessed by street smarts, this girl knows how to get to places in such a short amount of time, she knows when something is off and immediately calls it out, knows how to wiggle herself out of awkward and difficult situations, and all that jazz.
Zianna = shopaholic. knows every vendor in the Town and she even gets personal 50% offs just because she's that well known by most of the vendors.
Garroth gets his Baseball Athletic-ness from Zianna. Why not Garte? Bcs Fuk Garte. Zianna is a CHAMP at baseball.
Zianna is normally the first candidate when the school has beauty pageant competitions and she comes back trophy in hand.
Zianna doesn't really have a club she joined at school but that's because she serves her time around helping animal shelters and if anyone needs volunteers she's usually in there to help and is normally helping in community service.
Zianna does infact have amazing baking skills even tho it didn't show that much in highschool her skills improved and got better around her time in college.
•Garte Ro'meave
I won't be dwelling much on Garte because I don't like him, and there really isn't much I can say about him.
Highschool Garte is just Highschool Garroth but wasn't a heartthrob because his personality was just bad, alot of girls asked him out because from a far he actually looks sweet but immediately broke up with him because of how much mistreatment they got from him.
(Things like: pointing out insecurities without a second thought, practically embarrassing them during the dates, hardly being polite on said date)
But anyways Garte is normally found training for the varsity team specifically baseball but compared to Zianna he sucks.
Garte is part of band he plays the tuba.. no reason.. he just does.
•Maria Everton
Maria is Zack's younger sister, even though they look nothing alike, they are infact full blooded brother and sister.
Maria has short dark blue Wavy hair (dyes it lighter when she gets older) and big bright teal eyes with, of course long thick lashes.
Maria won't appear alot during the stories, but i do have things I wanna tell about her.
Like I said Maria is one of the prettiest girls only second to Zianna so alot of boys have also asked her out on dates, which she sadly refused because Zack would absolutely go MAD when he finds out people want to woo her sister.
Maria gets along with Zianna quite well, Zack/Maria and Zianna's parents are long time friends so they grew up with eachother.
Maria also goes shopping with Zianna alot, she isn't a shopaholic like Zianna but you know, Zianna gives free food after shopping.
Maria IS BOMB at Arcade games Robotron? Done. Donkey kong? PLEASE street fighter II? EZZ.
Maria is also part of Drama club in the school, she doesn't really like it but she was pressured to take a club so she just kinda.. eenie Minnie miney moe-d the clubs and boom Drama.
And that concludes the main cast! Well atleast the main cast for the highschool part of the story, I will also make one for Rachel, Derek, Terry and Enki but since they don't go to O'khasis High I just didn't add them here, they'll have their own separate blog.

I'm such a 🤡
Pride Month is almost over and I wish I would have came up with this idea sooner so I could pan it out instead of shoving it all into one post.
Sigh
All is well however and I'll still do it before the month is over!
So, I wanted to let it be known that I sometimes write queer characters into my stories and I'm too much of a perfectionists to write them wrong. Days or research goes into each character who fits under the lgbtq+ umbrella.
So here I wanna detail some of these characters just to be sure I'm not getting anything wrong (of course I'm straight, so unfortunately there will still be some issues)
Brown and Pink
These two girls literally do not have a name because it's a unfinished story I have no ideas for lol. However, I have the plot "finished" in my head, it's just a matter of writing the story.
But, Brown is a IT major who has the biggest crush on a girl she sees around her campus. Not wanting to freak the girl out, she simply is her friend. However, Brown also has a crush on the creator of a queer webcomic artist. Not only does she love the comic, she loves the personality if the artist as well, so she lives an average college life until Pink calls her one day with a delimma.
Pink is super cute in my head, shes actually just a black uwu girl and I love it. (Btw, they're both black). Pink is also pretty shy and is often to herself, so when she calls Brown, she knows it has to be for something serious.
Pink explains she needs help because someone hacked into her "Webtoon" account and she can't log in anymore. Being bad with technology, she calls the only person she can think to help, which also happens to be the girl she's drawing the comic about. I think you know where this is going.
Mandy
This whole story is a satire, but Mandy is my attempt at a Pansexual. Mandy is brought into the story because she flirts with everyone. The main characters in the story are actually introduced to her when she approaches them at a park wondering if they'd be willing to go on a double date, she doesn't even care who she goes with out of group 1 female and 2 males. However, she's not just pan for no reason.
Her family isn't supportive of her in the slightest--even before she realized she was pan--so she acted out. Did whatever she wanted with whoever she wanted and at some point realized it wasn't just acting out, but apart of who she is. She truly has love for everyone in any form they come in.
This story also has abilities and powers, Mandy has the ability to see what others can't. I have a ghost character in this story and she's able to see him despite him being turning himself invisible, just to give you an example.
Ren
He is a character I often have as the twin brother of my MC Cassie. He's been gay since I can remember (he's a mad old character). His boyfriend originally was a "trap" since as a kid that's usually what I saw in Yaoi and BL, but when I got older, I didn't wanna fall into that stereotype too much and instead made his boyfriend a soft boi.
Ren is also very aggressive to somewhat combat the stereotype that all gay men are feminine and weak. I also added a personality trait that Ren is easily influenced by men, but that's to normalize him as, come on, anyone who's straight reading this, you mean to tell me you're not more swayed by someone you find attractive/your type? Come on, don't lie.
Ren more so acts as a normal sibling to his sister, but he just so happens to be gay.
Mari
Just because I talked about Ren, I have to talk about his boyfriend. As I said, originally he was a trap character, but I felt that was kind of... Gross for lack of a better word that I couldn't write a male character who appeared as a man in a gay relationship. It felt like I had to still write a "straight" relationship masquerading as a gay one.
But Mari is still super adorable. He's meant to be really cute and soft to contrast Ren's aggressive demeanor. He's passive, but can still stand up for himself and he's usually a voice of reason when Ren is being irrational.
Kit
These next two are the couple in an erotica I'm writing. With the first book drafted and the second in the works I can tell you a but about him without spoiling the story.
Kit is a hard working voice actor who's the absolute worst to be around lol. He's made to be very high strung and unbearable, demanding people do more work than they're already doing.
However, he's good at what he does so people still love him. Even when he comes out as gay, his fans still love him and support anything he wants to do. I actually love writing Kit because I get to be unreasonably annoying when I write him haha.
Also, their story was made after I got an idea about making a story with a "cat dude and a dog dude" they're not actually animals, they just have personalities like some. In this case, Kit is a cat personality and actually owns a black cat.
Phelan
Phelan is built to be the total opposite of Kit. He's kind, caring, charming, nice, and sweet. It's actually so healing to write him because he's so nice it almost bleeds into my life.
He's also written to never really take insults. Not because he's dense and can't understand them, but because he just doesn't really care when people insult him. Case and point is his boyfriend, Kit. From belittling to outright insulting, Kit has done and said every bad thing there is to say to Phelan, yet, the golden retriever can't seem to resent the black cat.
Phelan is actually very pursuant and tries his hardest to get into a relationship with Kit because... Well, if you ever read it, you'll find out why~
Side note, I wanna talk about his ethnicity. Because since Kit is meant to be a "cat" he's obviously a dog, specifically he owns like three golden retrievers. However, this made me imagine him as a white/fair skinned male; but when I was self-editing the story, he started coming off as some kind of poc. I'm not sure what group, but he gave me vibes of a poc. An example is that as a voice actor, he was asked by a friend to voice a character and almost everyone at that place is a poc (Black/African-American, Filipino, and Hispanic) so I thought "why would they invite some random white guy?" It just seemed to on the "checking the ethnic diversity box" and I'm sure some would assume I only included a white character because there just had to be one. Man I really wish I had a concept artist just to see what version of him matches more.
Gabe
I made the story he's in around the time I started to learn about trans people. The story's whole plot revolves around three kids coming of age in a ever changing world. Specifically, Cassie's plot is her coming to terms with who she is. Not a shy, introverted young girl but a passionate and determined young woman.
So, I wanted to represent her change in a physical manner and when I was learning about trans issues, I decided to add it as a physical showcase of her development.
Gabe is a trans man who wants to mentor Cassie after seeing some potential in her. While I'm not finished with the story, I do know there's a conversation I was going to put in there where Gabe reveals to Cassie he's trans because he feels she's going through a similar struggle he did as a child. Not feeling like he could properly express himself or identify in the way he felt most comfortable in.
And those are all my most prominent queer characters! I would love to add more, that would require me to learn more so I don't portray harmful stereotypes and can characterize them properly.
But, thank you for reading and I hope you can write well tonight or tomorrow; and...
Happy Pride Month!

I'll be honest: sometimes I take those "is your MC a Mary Sue" quizzes, not because I buy into the belief that a Mary Sue is a real thing, but because I want to see how absolutely baffled these tests are when I show up with my 29 year old OC who is arguably very conventionally attractive at the cost of his sanity. But I've noticed as I try to answer yhe questions of these tests - some of which are old and only exist as an archive (the Mary Sue Litmus Test, for example) and some of which that are pretty damn recent - is that some questions are Literally Impossible to Answer.
And look, I get it, you can't account for everyone’s OCs because that's impossible. However, a trend I've noticed is... Every question that revolves around how your OC is seen by others is phrased as if the "other characters" are a monolith.
Let me explain. So I come in with my OC, who I'll refer to as Kaz from now on ('cause that's his name), and come across the question of "how do others view him?" I get the choices of "love him, hate him, neutral, likes him" (for example.) How do I answer this question? No legitimately - how do I answer this question? Because there are two characters who absolutely love him in a found family like way, four characters that hate him, three that like him (and out of those three, one is "likes him enough to put up with him"), and one who has an "its complicated" relationship but ultimately would end up in the "likes" category. So, doing our math, that's:
2 people who love him (and not even in the way we're assuming the question is asking)
4 people who hate him
4 people who like him (with an added caveat that half of them have some sort of disdain towards Kaz)
And like. What do I do here? Because it's an even split, among the named characters at least, between "hate" and "like". And because of how binary these results are, they will heavily screw if your OC is perceived as a "Mary Sue" (which, doesn't exist, but given how often the term comes up to this day, I can see young creators hoping their OCs don't fit into this box).
And sure, you can argue with me "well its just a quiz you're not supposed to take it seriously" and true, you're right, it is just a quiz. But it doesn't represent how much of a sliding scale OC development really is. And that's my major problem.
Character development is a sliding scale. Not everyone will love your OC and in that same breath, not everyone will hate them either. Back to Kaz as an example - he's got an ex-boyfriend (named Reiji) and a girl he has a platonic crush on (named Remi). Kaz and his ex are on bad terms and its justified because they both hurt each other! Meanwhile when Remi first meets Kaz she thinks he's cute (but then kinda... takes it back because of the way Kaz responded to that but she does try to move past that because sometimes first impressions are impossible to judge people on) and then still ends up liking him as a friend. And the reason I bring these two up is because Reiji and Remi are childhood friends! So Reiji vents to Remi about Kaz and Remi goes "oh okay" and adjusts her perception of Kaz to be far more nuanced than what she had understood with their first two interactions, while when Remi talks to Reiji about Kaz he uses it to adjust his perception of Kaz to fall more into the disdain category.
So it's like!! Your OC is gonna be perceived in so many ways by your cast (and the surrounding background characters too!!) that putting them into a box isn't going to help! So like. Please don't take those tests as a way to see where to "fix" your character because they will never account for your whole story. You could have a queen ruling a nation and everyone loves her and people who speak out against her are seen as unreasonable. Would that make her a Mary Sue? Like. Genuine question here. Because I think not, but that is a question on multiple Mary Sue tests.

Hey! I love the ideas you showed me omgggggg, the cat and flowers fit so perfect for the story! I like the second one soooo much. Maybe a flower shows up first for soonyoung! and the sun would look so good too! youre right mc's mark would be related to quidditch , it could be a broom or snitch or a quaffle ... or the goals too I read your idea about mingyu twice but i dont think i understand ewtryerteytuw , so she asks him for advice and says its ok if those men dont want anything ? she might enjoy the casual relationship, and then mingyu asks her what kind of man she wants and she tells him. and then !?!?! does mingyu say he can do that or ....... i dont think i understood i'm sorryyyyyyyyyyy when you said that mignyu time and again doesnt make it official, this scene came into my mind ..... mc is in her room , she had plans with mingyu but he cancelled saying he's going out to hogsmeade with friends , earlier maybe soonyoung had also told her that mingyu doesnt really care about her like she thinks he does ... and then at night, mingyu knocks on her door like nothing happened and just starts talking .. and maybe he thinks they can just f*ck and be normal but mc is so upset with him, she tells him that she's studying ... even though he can see her books are not out ... so he knows its something else ... Now idk what mingyu will do because we dont talk about his character much .... but two things can happen ! one hes aa hufflepuff he doesnt like anyone being mad at him so he kisses her and then makes it up to her .. and the next day mc will feel bad because she let a man distract her like that ORRR he would just get that shes not in the mood and he'll say okay see you and go and then mc would feel bad because HE REALLY DOESNT CARE weyuyruyr
Those tattoos were so pretty !! Flowers are a definite must for little miss ravenclaw mc 💛 I think having a snitch mark would be pretty !!! It's such an iconic symbol, and it's easy to recognize !! I'm sure they can get really artsy with that tattoo <3
Omg ahah I'm sorry, I wrote the Mingyu thing right before I left the house, so maybe it didn't make the most sense. You kinda got the idea though !! Mc basically asked Mingyu for relationship advice in regards to all her suitors. She believes that other men are only interested in her because they want to hook up with her. She wants to know if she should just say yes and agree to one of those guys because it can't be that bad. She can get laid and then call it quits
But this is a dilemma for her because she genuinely isn't interested in any of those guys. She might not have any fun because she doesn't have any romantic or sexual attraction towards them. Sex is best when she feels emotionally connected to a person. So she expresses this to Mingyu, and he wants to know what that emotional connection entails. She tells him that she's looking for a dynamic similar to what they have! She's convinced that nobody can make her feel as good as Mingyu would because they're such good friends and they share a certain bond that she doesn't have with anyone else. There's sexual tension in the air after her confession. So they test out the waters just to see if her theory is correct. Turns out... she's right. They continue their fwb relationship because it's too hard to give up, even if mc's feelings for Mingyu are still there.
EDIT: My friend also suggested that they have the same conversation. But Mingyu cuts it short and tells her that if she wants to have sex with someone she shares a connection with, then she should just wait. AND THEN my friend wanted to incorporate the jealous Mingyu scene where he fucks her in the shower room LOL. So after many days or a few weeks, it just happens, and they let it roll !!! Something like this might feel a little more natural but idunno, the horny part of my brain really wanted it to happen in that same conversation LOL. Let me know what you think !
And OH MY GOD !!! Your scenario !!! I feel like Mingyu would genuinely feel bad if he had to cancel on mc. His excuse is kind of lame because he can surely hang out with his friends any other time. He knows it's wrong, but that doesn't stop him from going to Hogsmeade. He's just a boy :/ He doesn't really know what it means to be a boyfriend (and that's exactly why they aren't official). Mc probably has these certain expectations for a guy she so desperately likes. But then Mingyu can't be that guy for her. They're better off as friends or fwbs
I do believe that Mingyu's character would be a Huflepuff through and through ! But he does have his flaws and he does make his mistakes. Hence why he fucked up and ended up with a disappointed mc >:(
But omg what would he do?? Kiss and make up or leave because she had asked him to ???? I think he understands her pretty well as a friend, so I would lean towards the former. It's also relevant to their story line because that's the dynamic of their relationship. They make each other feel good and cheer each other up like besties do. It's not that he doesn't care for mc!! They're basically each other's best friends !! Mingyu just can't pursue a romantic relationship with her because he's not interested in that way :-( He would never let her go to sleep mad, especially if their friendship could be at stake

Solomon has been around for like a really really long time,, and alot of that time was spent in the human world,,
Seeing as MC is gender neutral in game and all the boys would be attracted to them regardless of the gender of the person playing, none of them are straight (or atleast that's my headcanon)
So if Solomon isn't straight but was also alive back when being not straight just REALLY wasn't excepted,, he's probably had a few not too great experiences in the human world
Idk if you're still accepting for the lgbt thing, but if you are, what do you think of maybe the pact squad (Just Asmo and Barbatos, not all 72 demons he has a pact with-) were hanging out and Solomon and he got bad memories about that time and the other two are just wholesome supportive friends
I just love this idea so much, like just a really great idea! and like... may have went a bit overboard on this one- Trigger warning: sexisum, homophobia, mentions of murder, just generally really old and very toxic attitudes mentioned, solomon got ptsd and has a panic attack, also fire.
Solomon had been alive for many year, so much that he can't even remember how long it has been. The human mind can only remember so much, even with the help of magic so he tends to forget a lot of things.
But there are some things he couldn't ever forget.
He was queer, he had lived for so long and used many labels throughout the changing times but he was attracted to people of any gender and was willing to show that.
He had lived through so much, he had gotten attack for this many times. It wasn't until he became King solomon that it started to really affect him.
He was known to have many wives, but people choice to forget about his husbands. That's not even taking into account that most of his wives were simply women who needed safety in a world that with to mistreat them.
Somewhere lesbians, other trans men, or just women who wanted a more free life. He let them live in his castle, learn to read and do magic and only a few did he have romantic or sexual relationships with.
His husbands where in similar positions, gay or trans and wanting freedom from a world that hates them and only a few were he actually with romantically.
This slow caught on, more people coming to Solomon for freedom and he let them have. He took in anyone that came, it didn't matter who. So word started to travel after that King solomon openly supported them.
Many people disagreed with this, and one day he left his castle and once he returned the whole thing was on fire, A large group of angry people watching it closely. He could tell that no one made it out, so he ran.
That was a few hundred years ago, but the memory stayed with him for much longer then he thought it would. It come up at random times, in his dreams or the smallest thing that would bring the memory up fresh in his mind. He hide it from other people, not wanting to share it.
Not even Asmodeus or barbatos his closest friends did not know how he lost all his 'partners'. That was until one day, they all decided to spend the night together. Just a night to relax.
Solomon wasn't fully aware of what movie he was watching, Asmodeus picked and Barbatos prepared the snacks.
Solomon wasn't expecting anything bad to happen, and it did go well for most of it. In till the castle in the movie burned down, and all the memories were brought up.
He was tense through the whole scene, Asmodeus noticed this at first as he was cuddled up into his side. Asking him in a whisper if he was okay, He quickly dismissed it not wanting to ruin the night by bringing up the past.
Then the scene continued, it slowly got harder for him to breath as he started to remember more. This is when barbatos took notice quickly, turning off the movie and turning to Solomon.
Small tears where in his eyes as he struggled to breath, Both Asmo and Barb jump to help ground and comfort him. Barbatos helping him regulate his breathing, when Asmodeus threw the movie disk out a window.
Once Solomon could breath probably and wasn't panicking as much, Asmodeus quickly took him in his arms and whispered small comforting words in till Solomon was calm enough to talk.
Barbatos assured him that he didn't have to share why this happened, but solomon didn't want to hide this face from his friends. He told them what happened, tears formed in his eyes as he shared the story.
They both listen closely to what he had to say, Barbatos sighed softly he knew his castle burned down but didn't know it was that bad. He got up, quickly making one of solomon's favorite snacks and tea and bringing it to him.
Asmo continued to cuddle him, comforting him as much as he could when barbatos was gone. Knowing that he could leave solomons side until he was feeling much better.
Barbatos came back with the snacks letting solomon have as much as he wanted, they spent the rest of the night together. Either talking and goofing around slightly to lighten his mood, or comforting him.
They just... all such good friends.
