todays topic: I go down a rabbit hole please save me
Tw for explanation: uh. Toxic shipping, and f o n t c e s t (it's bad rescue me)
Aight so I'll make this fast.
I was watching a short talkimg about emberlyn talking about how belongs in hell. As a joke, it flashed the title page of a Undertale fontcest comic. Now usually I'll just be grossed out and keep going with my day.
This time though, something bothered me. Morbid curiosity possibly, I don't know. The name I saw on the title page was called 'No Safeword'. I looked it up just to confirm if what I thought it was was correct, be ause you never know it could have just been a comfort fic/comic.
But strangely enough, I couldn't find.. ANYTHING on it. Only the image of the title page again. So huh, THATS WEIRD. The image was blurry as well, but I managed to make out who commissioned it (I will not be saying their name as I don't want them or the artist to be harassed. If you know who they are- uhm. DONT ATTACK THEM)
I go onto their Twitter. It was pretty normal yk. Mostly just retweets of undertale fanart. The kinda acc younger me would have loved.
And then.
There was a hidden post. I had mild curiosity, so I opened it.
It was fontcest. Luckily nothing graffic, but that's what it was. This confirmed that this twitter acc was the same one that commissioned the comic, and it confirmed that it indeed wasn't a satire or something.
And your probably thinking 'oh Finn isn't that the end'
NO
BECAUSE.
MY QUESTION IS
WHY IS THIS COMIC NON EXISTENT
THERE IS N O T H I N G ON IT
NOTHING OTHER THAN THE TITLE PAGE. WHY WAS IS SCRUBBED FROM EXISTENCE? IM CONFUSED AND I NEED ANSWERS.
quick note before anyone thinks this: I don't support Fontcest, or any 'cest' for that matter. I don't want to read the comic (number one, ew, number two I'm pretty sure it's porn) I just want ANSWERS FOR WHY ITS JUST. NON EXISTENT
If anyone has any answers or anything to add please I need them
Edit: while scrolling for answers I found unfiltered porn and stopped. The twitter was not labeled as 18 plus.

REQUESTS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN!!
Request Guidelines!!
Tumblr media
Please read the entire post before submitting a request. :)
[1] First and foremost, I will start by saying that as of right now, all of my fics will be reader insert. As my blog grows, that may change, and if it does I will update my guidelines accordingly.
[2] I prefer to stay away from specific physical descriptions for reader as I'd like for everyone to be able to envision themselves in my writing. However, if I do write a fic with specific reader description, I will make sure to label my content accordingly.
[3] While I am not afraid to dabble in some darker themes, I absolutely WILL NOT accept requests for the following:
Non-con/Rape/Graphic sexual violence
Incest/Step-Cest or ANYTHING related to Child Abuse in any form
Anal
Eating Disorders
Intentional self-harm
Content romanticizing mental illness/abusive relationships
Anything including hate speech or hate crimes
[4] If I receive a request that I'm uncomfortable with that includes anything not listed above, I will not write it and I will try to provide an explanation for why not if able.
[5] Please do not spam the same request multiple times.
Characters I Will Write For:
Spencer Reid
Aaron Hotchner
Derek Morgan
Luke Alvez
Emily Prentiss
TASM!Spider-Man/Peter Parker (all fics will be set after he starts college in TASM2 or before/during/after the events of No Way Home)
Jake Peralta
Rosa Diaz
If there is a character that you'd like to request that isn't listed above, feel free to let me know and I will see what I can do in terms of writing for them! :)
Finally, I will do my best to complete requests as received, but also please understand that doing so will take time. I look forward to receiving anything you guys come up with. <3

Gotta jump in and back you up on the Silm-cest ships. Because incest is a huuuuuge squick for me 99% of the time (Seanan McGuire is the ONE person who has EVER written an exception to that rule, and I still sometimes can't fully believe that she pulled it off so well tbh) but it doesn't bother me one way or the other when it's cousins from the Silmarillion, and I think it's because there's a huge difference in what ~incest~ means when you're just talking about ordinary human folks (even in fantasy-lands like Emelan or whatever) screwing their siblings, and thousand+ years old immortal elvish cousins. The vibes are so completely different it doesn't even register that way to me tbh!
Incest isn't gross because of shared genetics, it's gross because the platonic family bond shouldn't be distorted that way and when that happens it's almost certainly because something is deeply wrong and unhealthy for everyone. But the elvish cousins from the Silm didn't grow-up in our ordinary modern human family dynamics like that, so it's just such a non-issue imo. It would be like freaking-out about Egyptian Gods or something.
Seems like performative purity culture when people act distressed on such an intense level about those ships to me, tbh. Like do you just see the word "incest" and start shrieking? ("You" meaning them btw not YOU lol.) Or did you actually stop to think about the individual characters and decide how you feel about THEM? Because methinks the pearl-clutchers aren't actually stopping to actually assess ANYTHING they're just shrieking for the sake of Being Morally Superior...which is weird, because it's the Silm. There's not a lot of "moral superiority" going on with the magic jewel murderstory about the murderelves lmao.
That's basically my thoughts with cousin/cousin silm ships, yep! And definitely agree that being a little too close to a cousin is definitely not the worst thing that, say, Maedhros or Celegorm has done lol. That said, if someone is still squicked by silm cousincest that's completely fine and valid, and they don't owe me or anyone an explanation for why. (This is why I try and always tag ships in art or fic that I repost, so people can avoid.)

Y/N pressed her ear to the phone receiver, brows furrowed. Maybe she heard it wrong. As soon as the message ended, she pressed the prompt to repeat it.
“YN listen, I…uh…I know this is a crappy way to end things, but it’s not working for me, and I believe we want different things. I hope you find someone worth your time. Love you. Oh, and Merry Christmas.”
Nope, that’s what she heard. She stared at her phone in disbelief. Really? A break up on Christmas Eve? Her hands shook as she placed the phone into her locker. She put her head inside and screamed into her coat. Her co-worker and close friend, Jungkook, entered the employee break room whistling, setting his bag down, but paused once he saw her head buried in her locker. He watched her curiously.
“Everything okay, Y/N?”
She sniffed, removing her head from inside, and slumped down onto the bench. She rubbed her eyes, trying to fight the tears. “No. Everything sucks.”
He groaned, joining her on the bench. He didn’t like seeing her in this state. He just opened his arms, allowing her in, and she began to sob, wetting his shirt in the process. It surprised her because he wasn’t super emotional, but he was here for her, which made her feel good to know he was supportive.
“He broke up with me on Christmas Eve,” she mumbled into his chest.
Jungkook frowned, shaking his head. “Seriously? That prick. Who breaks up with someone on Christmas. You don’t deserve that. I’m sorry, Y/N.”
Y/N hiccupped and grabbed a tissue off the coffee table, wiping her face with a deep sigh. He patted her back gently as he stood. “You’re going to be okay, right? I can ask the boss if you need a replacement.
She shook her head, blowing her nose. “No. No. I need the distraction, but thank you.”
Jungkook smiled at her, tousling her hair, making her swat his hand with a smile, adjusting her hat. “Alright. Let’s get upstairs before we have a riot.”
She chuckled as she looked herself over in the mirror. Y/N smoothed the wrinkles from the bright green dress with red trimming. The bells attached to her dress and matching hat jingled as she turned around, giving herself one last look over. With a nod, she followed Jungkook back out of the breakroom.
***
“Attention holiday shoppers, the mall will be closing in twenty minutes. Please make all purchases at that time. Last call for Santa photos. Have a very Merry Christmas.”
Y/N wanted to jump for joy. At least that was good news. The day was almost over. She stretched, a smile across her face as the flash from the camera went off. With a giggle, she led the child towards their family with a wave.
“Thank you! Merry Christmas!”
She turned, giving Ben, their department store Santa Claus a sigh.
“Is it me, or does the line seem to be getting longer?”
He and Jungkook laughed at her comment. “It’s just you. Relax, we’ve got only twenty minutes left, and then we’ll be free of these–,” he stopped whispering as another family came up for pictures. “HO HO HO! Merry Christmas! Tinsel, bring some candy canes up!”
“Right away, Santa!” Y/N ran over to the basket and handed one to each kid. “Welcome to Santa’s shop! I’m Tinsel, Santa’s elf in charge!”
Soon the kids posed as Jungkook took a few photos, handing the parents the film with a smile. “Take this over to the booth to pay. Merry Christmas!”
Taehyung held his little sister’s hand as they walked to the middle of the mall. “Hurry, TaeTae! I want to see Santa!”
He chuckled, squeezing her hand as she dragged him along. “Be patient, Soyoung. We’ll get there soon enough.”
Soyoung pouted, tugging his hand. “B-But the store is going to close!”
Taehyung sighed, quickening his steps. “Okay. Okay. I’ll walk faster.” He adjusted the bags in his free hand as they walked faster. They reached the line moments later, standing as he glanced down with her.
“We made it. Happy now?”
Soyoung nodded with a boxy grin. “Yes!” She bounced up and down. “I have a lot to ask him.”
“Now. Now. Santa is a busy man. Don’t overwhelm him, Soyoung.”
“I won’t, TaeTae.”
***
“Is it me, or is the room getting hotter?” Y/N asked, fanning herself. Jungkook looked up from the camera, shaking his head. “I feel fine.” She sighed, checking her water bottle. Empty. The lights around her only made it hotter to stand. Y/N looked over the line. Only a few families left. She could get through it. Hand out a few more candy canes, take some more pictures, then head home to a large glass of red wine.
Taehyung grinned as they reached the front of the line. “Almost our turn Soyoung!”
She jumped with a giggle. “Yay!”
But as Soyoung stared at the bright lights, decorations, and Santa looming in the large throne, her face paled. She whimpered, trying to hide behind Taehyung.
“I-I don’t want to see him.”
Taehyung’s brows knitted, staring at her. “But you were excited a minute ago.”
She tugged on his coat. “I changed my mind. I don’t wanna see him.”
Taehyung sighed, crouching down to her eye level. “Soyoung–”
Her eyes welled with tears as she began to cry. People began to stare, making Taehyung flustered as he tried to calm her down, but she wailed louder.
Jungkook looked up at the noise and waved at Y/N. “Code blue Christmas!”
Ben groaned, rubbing his forehead. “This is our last customer. Y/N, take care of it.”
She sighed as she walked over them with a smile, grabbing the basket filled with assorted candy canes. She crouched down by the crying girl and held one out for her.
“Hiya! I’m Tinsel. Are those tears I see?”
Taehyung smiled at Y/N and stood up. “Hi Tinsel,” he brought his sister forward. “This is Soyoung. She’s a little scared to see Santa.”
Y/N smiled at her. “Hi, Soyoung. Why are you scared to see Santa?”
Soyoung sniffled, drying her eyes. She looked at Taehyung as he nodded for her to talk. “He looks scary.”
“Scary?” Y/N gave her another smile. “Santa is the biggest softie. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. Trust me, I know. I work for him.”
“You do?”
“Uh, huh. The reindeer would agree too.”
“I-I don’t know–”
“How about I walk up with you, and we’ll talk to him together. What do you say?”
Soyoung clutched Taehyung’s coat staring at Y/N. “Only if he can come too.”
Y/N nodded. “Of course, your dad can come.”
Taehyung’s cheeks became flushed as Soyoung giggled. “Uh, she’s my little sister.”
Y/N covered her mouth as she got flustered. “Oh, goodness! I’m sorry. I thought–”
He smiled with a boxy grin. “No worries. It happens all the time.”
Y/N held her hand out for Soyoung to take. “Well, Miss Soyoung, let’s see Santa with your big brother.”
Soyoung took Y/N’s hand as shyness took over and walked up the trail to see Santa Claus. Y/N gave Jungkook a nod as if to say, ‘everything is fine’ and stopped in front of Ben.
“Tinsel reporting for duty Santa. I have a new friend who is anxious to see you!”
Ben held his stomach and let out a jolly belly laugh. “Well, hello there!”
Soyoung waved, shuffling her feet. “Hi, Santa.”
“Why don’t you come on up and we can chat?”
The shyness dissipated as she walked closer and stood next to Santa Claus. They chatted animatedly. The smile on her face grew more and more as she leaned over and whispered in his ear.
Taehyung exhaled as he turned to look at Y/N with a smile. “Thank you.”
“It was no trouble,” she answered. “I was happy to help.”
Taehyung stared at her for a moment, blushing. He couldn’t help but notice how cute she looked in the elf costume. He wasn’t one to be awkward; in fact, he was pretty confident in most situations, but being in front of her made him a little infatuated.
“Miss Tinsel?”
Y/N was about to speak up just when a wave of dizziness hit her. Everything went black as she fell backward into the side of the North Pole sign.
“Miss? Miss? Can you hear me?”
Y/N’s eyes fluttered open. As everything began to focus, she could see Ben, Jungkook, Soyoung’s brother and Soyoung standing near her. Y/N tried to stand as Taehyung held his hand up to stop her. “Don’t move; you might have hit your head during your fall.”
“I’m fine,” she said as her cheeks warmed. She hated having them fuss over her. Besides the slight bump she could feel forming, Y/N felt fine. Jungkook glanced at Ben nervously. “Should we call an ambulance?”
“Guys, I’m fine. Seriously. I think I’m just dehydrated,” she rambled.
Taehyung shook his head. “We need to be sure.”
Jungkook went off to grab his phone and make the call. Y/N sighed as she still laid on the ground. Taehyung noticed how uncomfortable she looked and helped her up to lean against the stairs. “Santa, can we get her some water?”
Ben nodded as he walked away. Soyoung sat next to them, the worry crossing her face. “Is Tinsel going to be okay?”
“Of course, I am Soyoung. Just felt a little dizzy. Even elves get hurt sometimes,” she reassured the little girl. Soyoung seemed alright with the explanation and sat there in silence.
Soon enough, Jungkook came back with two EMTs in tow, and Taehyung pulled Soyoung back to give them room. They checked her vitals, stating she was a little overheated and dehydrated. They gave her a sports drink to replenish her electrolytes and told her to take it easy.
Taehyung watched from afar with Soyoung, still concerned. Soyoung glanced from her brother to the elf and pulled on his coat sleeve. “TaeTae?”
“Yes, Soyoung?”
“Do you want to know what I asked Santa for?”
Taehyung peered down at her curiously. “What?”
“I asked for you to meet someone pretty and nice,” she whispered.
Taehyung felt his heartache. “Soyoung–”
“I-I know you get lonely sometimes. I just didn’t want to see you sad anymore.”
Taehyung wrapped his sister in a hug. “You’re the sweetest little sister.” He grabbed her hand and walked over to Y/N. He stopped a few steps away and turned to Soyoung. “Wait here for a moment, okay?”
Soyoung bobbed her head up and down as Taehyung stepped forward.
“Miss Tinsel?”
Y/N sat up from the stretcher as her eyes rounded. He was still here. She wrapped her hair around her ear, having removed the elf hat, and smiled. “Uh, hi there. You can just call me Y/N. Tinsel retired for the night.”
They shared a laugh for a moment. “Well then, Y/N. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Kim Taehyung.” He returned the smile, tucking his hands in his pockets. “Some way to end a shift.”
Y/N nodded in agreement. “I’ll say. My life’s filled with never-ending incidents.”
Visibly nervous, Taehyung scratched his nose. “I don’t usually do this, but...uh, you’re probably the cutest elf I’ve ever met. Um…would you like to go out sometime?”
Y/N, taken aback, stared for a moment. She recovered, feeling a bit bashful. Though the pain of her recent breakup still lingered, she gave him a genuine smile.
“As much as I’d love to, I just got out of a breakup...more like today, but I wouldn’t say no to getting drinks, maybe coffee?”
Taehyung grinned. It wasn’t a complete rejection, but something. “Of course.” He pulled out his phone as Y/N typed her number into the contacts. He smiled, placing it back into his pocket. “Until then, I wish you a merry Christmas, Y/N.”
“Merry Christmas to you too, Taehyung.”

Why do people use genetics as an argument against Jon/Dany? This is a fantasy series where it is literally mentioned that an empire was built by a ruling cast that practiced bro/sis cest for 5k yrs and became the most adv. civ in history. IRL, Targs would be ugly and sterile if they continued with their level of incest. Clearly genetics work a bit differently in Planetos.
Anon, I completely agree. What I’ve noticed is that many arguments for or against characters and their actions are very heavily based around modern standards and morality. Which doesn’t work for many other aspects of the series, either - whether that be basic decision making, politics, etc. Jonerys fans have been struggling with people harassing us about the incest thing for ages - to the point where we’ve come so defensive about it that it’s now a non-issue (or, like in my case, we write incest-based fanfic in response lmfao)
This is Westeros, fam. Everyone’s related (except for like, the Greyjoys and Lannisters - or so I’m told).
“Jon’s a Stark, he’d never do that!”
Uh, yeah. Rickard and Lyarra were cousins. Tywin and Joanna were cousins. Cousin marriage is completely normal in Westeros. So, if you want to apply Earth standards, here, unrelated people is normal and cousin marriage is still practiced all over the world. So then, in Westeros, aunt/nephew would be probably as weird as cousin marriage on earth.
But again, they’re Targaryens. It’s not exactly unprecedented.
How bad is it, though, by Earth standards?
Two unrelated people: 3% chance of birth deformityCousins: 6% chance of birth deformityAunt/nephew: 12% chance of birth deformity
Like you said - using Earth’s standards, it could be that Targs might be sterile or fucked up. But even in some cases, like in Ancient Egypt, royalty bred for ‘purity’.
I’ve unfortunately looked into this because believe it or not, there was once a time that it bothered me just a smidge. And I feel like I know about incest more than the average person who wants to act like it’s the most vile thing to have ever happened in the show.
Just like you double up on bad genes - which is where these percentages come from - you also double up on good ones. Like say, if you believe only Targaryens can ride dragons. Whether or not that’s true, many Targaryens believe this, which is why, if they didn’t practice incest, they’d hop on over to Lys and try finding Valyrian-looking brides.
The worst it can possibly get, though, is twincest. Cersei and Jaime have three children together, each seeming genetically perfect, aside from Joffrey’s possible mental illness. But we can’t prove whether that is nature or nurture, maybe a little bit of both. Ramsay probably wasn’t born of incest, and yet he’s a monster, too. Tommen and Myrcella are just regular kids.
So maybe Aerys and his madness had nothing to do with incest, or maybe it did. One thing people tend to forget when it does come to his madness is that he was held prisoner and tortured for months. Kind of like another mad ruler with an affinity for wildfire and torture.
Tumblr media
People will often pop up on comments I’ve made about this before and get offended when I insinuate that gore and violence is worse than incest. Give me incest all day over violence, I say. I can already hear the “You can’t tell me to accept incest!” counters - And that’s never what I’m asking. But I am asking you to accept that we have every reason to believe incest doesn’t work on Planetos like it does on Earth, and that there’s a good chance Jon and Dany’s offspring won’t be horrible monsters. Which is what the argument tends to be (as if they actually care about the wellbeing of a baby that is barely conceived). Also, let’s say they do have a deformed baby. First of all, they conceived without knowing they were related, and further - Jon and Dany would be the perfect parents considering they don’t judge Tyrion for his birth defect. There’s not really a moral argument to even be had, here.
When it comes to Jon and Dany, themselves? Sorry, but they’re just not going to be bothered. It’s more obvious when it comes to Dany. Here we get an explanation of why she assumed she would marry her brother:
“She had always assumed that she would wed Viserys when she came of age. For centuries the Targaryens had married brother to sister, since Aegon the Conqueror had taken his sisters to bride. The line must be kept pure, Viserys had told her a thousand times; theirs was the kingsblood, the golden blood of old Valyria, the blood of the dragon. Dragons did not mate with the beasts of the field, and Targaryens did not mingle their blood with that of lesser men.”
Here Dany is, thinking about how she might’ve married Rhaegar’s son:
“Five Aegons had ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. There would have been a sixth, but the Usurper’s dogs had murdered her brother’s son when he was still a babe at the breast. If he had lived, I might have married him.”
When it comes to Jon, it’s a little more subtle. It’s fair to say that Jon’s feelings for Arya border on romantic (please keep in mind this is different than sexual). Why? Because Arya is quite possibly the first and only female who ever treated Jon with respect or kindness - and to Jon, kindness might be a more attractive trait than unrelatedness lol. His first love interest, Ygritte, makes him think of Arya, from her stubbornness, wildness, and tangled hair to her body type:
“She reminded him a little of his sister Arya, though Arya was younger and probably skinnier. It was hard to tell how plump or thin Ygritte might be, with all the furs and skins she wore.”
“Her shaggy mop of red hair stuck out in all directions. She looked plump as she crouched there, but most of that was layers of fur and wool and leather. Underneath all that she could be as skinny as Arya.”
Arya greatly influenced the type of woman Jon is attracted to:
“A warrior princess, he decided, not some willowy creature who sits up in a tower, brushing her hair and waiting for some knight to rescue her.”
Brushing her hair. Jon associates tangled hair with Arya and now Ygritte. Both warrior women, as well as Val, who inspired the above quote. All of this goes back to little Arya - again, likely the only female to ever show the boy any kindness before he goes off to the Wall to presumably, never interact with women again.
So, if Jon then meets Daenerys, who yes, he butts heads with at first (just like Ygritte), but who ultimately shows him not only kindness, but mutual respect despite his ‘bastard’ name… I really don’t think that everything they’ve built will be shattered because she’s a little more related to him than is socially acceptable in Westeros. And once Dany teaches him a little more about the true Targaryen way, there’s a good chance Jon might even be into it. 😏
At least, his actor, Kit Harington seems to think so:
“I really hope that he just nods slowly and goes, ‘Damned right’. Something really horribly inappropriate, and you find out Jon’s had a really sick mind the whole time. That’s the way I’d love to play it. I’ll try it for one take, anyway.”
Fingers crossed we get that take in the subsequent documentary, eh? 😅

My rules for all fanfictions.
Please read and respect these rules or you will be blocked immediately.
Here's the masterlist.
I will NOT write NSFW fanfiction about minors. I will also not age them up, because the original character is still a minor.
I will not write incest, or Tcest. I might write Oncest, but only because it's funny and it's technically not incest, but self-cest.
I will not write certain kinks that make me uncomfortable. Such as age play, cuckolding, claustrophilia, erotic asphyxiation, foot fetish, food play, gerontophilia, klismaphilia, objectum sexuality, pregnancy fetish, robot fetish, stygiophilia, hair fetish/trichophilia, urophilia/watersports/piss kink/omorashi, voyeurism, wax play, egg laying fetish, scat/shit/human feces/animal feces, non-con, consensual non-con, and probably more.
I will explain why I do not like all of these. (You don't need to read the explanation part if you don't want, but read the part after please.)
Age play: It is like aging up characters, and in my mind is wrong.
Cuckolding: I just don't like it.
Claustrophilia: The thought of fucking in a small area is sickening.
Erotic Asphyxiation: This restricts breathing and is very dangerous.
Foot Fetish: Feet make me uncomfortable.
Food play: food is dirty, I don't want it all over/inside of my body.
Gerontophilia: Too much of an age gap bothers me.
Klismaphilia: Just kinda yuck.
Objectum Sexuality: I'm not writing about being sexually attracted to an object.
Pregnancy Fetish: I will write about "breeding" but not pregnancy.
Robot fetish: again, no attraction to an object.
Stygiophilia: Just weird.
Hair fetish/trichophilia: Just no.
urophilia/watersports/piss kink/omorashi: Gross.
Voyeurism: Again, just weird.
Wax play: Again, dangerous.
Egg laying fetish: Just gross.
scat/shit/human feces/animal feces: Again, gross.
Non-con: Absolutely not.
Consensual non-con: it's better but still no.
Now that's over, here are my requesting/message rules.
Request rules: It does not need to be a character already on the list. If the character(s) you want is not there, ask about it, and it will most likely be added. Do not request minors unless you are requesting SFW. Your request must say if it is NSFW or SFW. All I really need from the request is an idea or plot and the character.
Message rules: Do not spam my messages asking me to "write quicker" I have things I need to do. Do not bumbard my inbox with NSFW unless asked first. If I don't reply, remind me, but don't spam please.
Gore rules: I appreciate some good gore now and again, however I will always always always put a warning if there is any gore involved. I enjoy gore more than a "normal" person would and use it a lot. Especially in fictions with serial killers in them. So please be warned of that. If I do write something with gore, it will most likely have an alternative version that has little to no gore. I also sometimes draw gore for the stories so beware of that.
Art Commissions: I now do art commissions! Do not request nsfw of a minor, as usual. No incest. You can honestly request whatever, as long as it applies to the same rules as fan fictions. (No kinks I'm not comfortable with, etc.) I will draw gore. Also there are no prices, you don't pay me. I'm happy when people like my stuff, not when I have money. :)
(I may add to this later, thank you for reading <3)

How to RP with Mimi
Tumblr media
As I am putting myself as a roleplayer more and more out there and I even started to make some connections (yay, me!), I wanted to reblog a text I wrote a while ago about what to expect from me in roleplaying and what to do and not do. I altered it a little, so it is basically not the same text, but ... more or less. My “Dos and Don’ts” do not change that much anymore. I am probably to old for that by now.
Whenever you see me with the RP tag before my name, I am free to approach in RP. Maybe I am questing, maybe I am running, but I am always in for RP as long as this is marked before my name.
Also:  If you want to look into Mimi’s Wiki, you are going to find it >here<. But it is still a work in progress.  More detailed information is under the cut, because it is a rather lengthy text.
European Timezone: During the week usually from 8 pm to 11 pm (CEST) - on the weekend and holidays more flexible and erratic. Of course, if you are from another timezone, feel free to approach me if my time schedule fits in any way. This is just a heads up, when I am usually active - not a “I only want to play with Europeans”. I play with everyone.
I might reblog or repost the following text from time to time, because this is really important to me when going into RP.
It is important to find people who click with you and who accept your do’s and don’ts. But first you have to voice those. As I have been burned the past years, because people did not respect my limits, from now on I want to be really transparent in this. So in the end nobody can say: “I did not know that.” Now you know!
I have been avoiding RP for more or less over a year (with little exceptions), because people violated those things and with “violated” I mean even though I told them all this they acted as if they did not know it or as if it was not important. As I am a very harmony-driven person and I do not want to cause stress I tend to compromise - even though I do not want to compromise. But I this is about change, because it is not healthy.
So … you do not have to read all of these. I marked the important passages with “bold” and the rest there is mostly for explanation if you are interested in it. Maybe it is helpful for some who want to RP with me. It is an easy way to know what to expect and what not to expect. It saves a lot of trouble for both sides.
Dos and Don’ts
Just jump into RP with me if you want to RP with me! Please do not send me an OOC tell beforehand asking whether I want to RP or not. If there is the RP tag in my name, I am ready to RP. I get nervous when you send me an OOC tell about that. Just approach me in character and everything is fine. Please no “Do you want to RP?”. If there is a tag, I want to. If you ask me beforehand, I might and probably will say “no”. If you give me the opportunity I might shy away. Just jumping into RP with me even works when there is no RP tag. Do not worry whether I want to RP or not, just do it.
I am a casual roleplayer. This means for me I enjoy roleplaying a lot. I usually do not roleplay on a daily basis. It might happen from time to time, but do not expect me to. There may be longer times when I do not feel like roleplaying or rather go into a dungeon or make my hunts or just do silly stuff or screenshots etc. This has nothing to do with you. This is me. My daily roleplaying times are over more or less. Also I like to play PvE and PvP a lot. As my time is limited (I have got a full time job, I am married and I also play other games) I have to balance all of this. Please keep this in mind. RP is not my main priority and this is nothing personal. Do not make it into something personal. It is not. Plain and simple.
OOC communication is important, but I do like to keep it as little as possible. If there is an OOC problem, then … sure, send me a tell. Good RP needs good OOC communication, but not constantly. I do not like to talk about our RP (if there is no need to), I want to RP. Usually talking and planning what our character might do takes a lot of fun out of the RP for me. Just play it. Do not talk about it. I love the uncertainty and vagueness of not knowing where the RP is heading and people tend telling too many things they plan on doing. Please do not take surprises away from me. But /tell me if there is any ooc problem we need to discuss.
I am a non-native roleplayer. Please always keep in mind: English is not my native language. This might lead to misunderstandings or me taking a bit longer to answer. Also I am very self-conscious about my English and usually this leads to me being not happy with my writing style as I am a professional writer in my mother language. Thus I am very aware of these things and might be little bit touchy about it. I know my flaws and that I might construct absurd sentences or use the same words too often. I try to do it otherwise, but… it happens.
There is one thing I really do not like: RP appointments or RP by schedule. Sometimes there is no way around it and if I need to coordinate with a group or so, then it is totally okay. Do not get me wrong: I make appointments and I attend to them. But I had many a RP burn-out, because of RP appointments. They exhaust me way quicker than they used to thanks to absurd expectations of my guild members when I was guild leader of an RP guild and also because of emotional abusive rp relationships. So I try to stay away from them in the future even more. For me the ideal situation is: 75% open RP, 15% events, 10% appointments. These are no fixed numbers - just an approximation. I prefer open world RP and I like my RP being spontaneous und surprising.
I am an introvert (OOC). This means I usually do not do small talk. It drains me. There are only a few people who do not drain me and it is no problem if you are not one of those people. It has nothing to do with you. If I play with you I like you. This also does not mean I do not like to talk and it does not mean I do not like people. Quite the contrary. There are times when I am rambling on and on, sure. But this is not the default. Please never ever ask me “how are you doing”. I really hate that question. If there is something you want to discuss, sure thing, shoot. You can be very frank and direct with me and do not need to make any small talk before that. I even appreciate it if you get straight to the point. I do not enjoy OOC small talk. IC small talk is a completely different thing on the other hand - yes, I am weird like that.
I like to play in /say per default. Please no RP per default in /party or /tell.  Because of past bad experience I try to keep as little RP in /party and /tell as possible, because it can be abused too easily. I want the possibility of people spontaneously joining our RP. Sometimes there is no way around /party and /tell. So I do not mind the occassional RP in /party or /tell or you whispering me IC in /tell if your characters whispers to mine. But if your RP needs to be per default in /party or /tell then there is a big chance you are looking for something completely different than me and please look somewhere else for it. Save us both the time.
Because of said bad experiences I am very cautious if people get too clingy. I am no one’s possession and no one has exclusive rights to RP with me - even if our characters are in a relationship! This is so important and I cannot stress this enough! If I ever feel like I get isolated OOC or someone gets too clingy or possessive, we have a problem and I plan on solving this by radically dropping said RP. This is nothing I ever want to go through again. Been there, endured that. Never again! This is a real trigger to me and freaks me out completely. So, no exclusive RP!
I am no plot player. I am a character focused player with a main interest in IC conflict and spontaneous RP and I like deep immersion. I enjoy slice of life and well paced character drama without any planned plot. There have been plenty of people who said: “No, but my plots are different! You have to try!” No. Sadly, 99% they were not different. Not at all.If character play leads to a plot, it is okay. But do not expect me to play accordingly to any script or follow any plot. I am still going to play my character no matter the plot. Best RP for me develops in a dynamic between two or more characters. My ideal plot arises out of the character interactions - completely unplanned and spontaneous. This is not how most people in rp communities seem to define plot, so I distance myself from that term very much. For me plot is a stage for character interactions. Not vice versa.
My characters are not always likeable and they are far from perfect. They are going to do stupid things. They are going to be a douchebag. And they are more often wrong than not. I like the conflict and the interactions arising out of this and the dynamic this creates. Please do not make this into something personal OOC. I like to play a flawed character and I love IC conflict and this is why most of my characters are quarrelsome or prejudiced. I am not my character so if they insult or provoke your character this is character play - not me being mean to you as a player.
I prefer roleplaying in the game. I used to play a lot of forum RP, but my main focus has always been in game. RP outside of the game can be a nice addition, but it should not be the focus to me. Especially as I do not like playing in multiple timelines. I prefer roleplaying in “real-time” - meaning: a day in RL is a day in the game. I do not see this too strictly and usually try to leave exact time measurements out of roleplaying and keep it as vague as possible. Better leave concrete times out of RP. Also I love RP letters, but since Mimi is illiterate and the game does not encourage sending letters to non-friends this might tend to become difficult. But if you want, send me an IC letter on tumblr and tag me. This might also be interesting when engaging with other characters of mine. Or whisper me in game, so we can put each other on the friend list and you can send me IC letters.
Do not force me to praise your RP. I am no cheerleader. I have been in several RP relationships in which I had to say after each RP session every single time how great it was. And no, it was not always great. And you know what? That is okay! Nobody plays perfect everyday. Yes, sometimes I might be bored, but that is okay, too. Praising someone’s RP everytime devalues that praise. I want to preserve the value of a compliment by not overusing it. Not every RP has to be awesome and extraordinary everyday and that is fine! People who feel like RP always has to be extraordinary, probably do not click with me, because that is not how I work. I cannot keep up to that standard, because I suck sometimes. It puts such a big pressure into roleplaying and this takes the fun out of it for me.
I like to describe my preferred RP with tv shows. As I love those and regularly watch them this is also something I like to go for and I think it is a good orientation for other people what to expect and what not. So here are the series I like to go for with my RP: Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dawson’s Creek, Babylon 5, Fringe. I also adore the character drama of Game of Thrones and though some nudity is okay this is a series I like to mention because of the character drama and the intense interaction, not because of the smut! This is why GoT will not get a bold name so people will not get the wrong idea. Though R rating is okay I am not here for the smut. Usually I like to fade to black unless it is important for character development. Yet most of the time it is going to be PG-13. As I am German and feel more comfortable with our rating system, if you know what FSK16 means you probably got it right.
I am not going to discuss any of my RP preferences. I do not force people in playing with me and if you like any of the things I just said I do not like - more power to you. I do not want to stop you from playing these things. But please without me. I have been a roleplayer now for about more than 25 years and I am very conscious about what I like and what I do not like and with what I got problems. All the times I deviated from my preferences and agreed to a compromise have been a disaster for me. I am rather tolerant and I do not interfere with other people’s RP as long as they do not force anything onto me I do not like. In this I try to be honest, polite, but firm and outspoken. I will never RP police you on the things above as long as you do not force them onto me. Live and let live. If you like those things above, but want to play with me nevertheless and do not impose them on me, be my guest and approach me. But please do not try to convince me of the things I do not like. It never worked. Really. Never. I tried. Honestly. More than once. So no discussion. Sorry.
Advice cut in short: Give me freedom and I am a truly loyal and dependable player. Lock me in a cage and I will fly away as soon as I get the chance to - even if I have to blast open the cage door.
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with anyone in the FF14 community. Actually these are things I have encountered before entering FF14 and because of these bad experiences I try to be super cautious and have been staying out of RP for a long, long time. By making these caveats public I am trying to protect myself and just trying to be honest and fair about it all. There is nothing worse for fun in RP than wrong expectations of your RP partner.
I hope this does not sound too intimidating. I also do not want to sound too complicated, but I just want to be very transparent on how I like to play. So if you ever see me and the RP in front of my name, just open the RP fire and I am going to respond. If I ever do not respond, feel free to send me a tell, because then I might have overlooked it or maybe was afk.

Getting Ready for Off-Payroll Working
Tumblr media
Over the past ten years, various steps have been taken to improve the effectiveness of the off-payroll (IR35) rules, with limited success.  In April 2017 the Government reformed the way in which the rules operate in the public sector by shifting responsibility for determining employment status from an individual contractor to the organisation engaging them. These rules are being extended to medium and large organisations in all sectors of the economy from 6 April 2021 and businesses need to prepare ahead of this date to ensure they are able to meet compliance obligations.
Preparation
Many organisations will have already started to prepare. However, given the difficulties being faced due to the coronavirus, many businesses will have had to prioritise other matters. With this in mind, HMRC have recently re-launched their package of customer education and support on this subject, hoping that it will help motivate businesses to start preparing.
Businesses that may be affected by the reforms are:
medium or large sized non-public sector organisations which engage contractors who work through their own intermediary
employment agencies which supplies contractors who work through their own intermediary
contractors who provide services through their own limited company or other intermediary.
Preparation work may include the following:
Looking at the current workforce (including those engaged through agencies and other intermediaries) to identify those individuals who are supplying their services through personal service companies
Determining if the off-payroll rules apply for any contracts that will extend beyond April 2021. The CEST tool can be used to do this (see below).
Communicating with contractors about whether the off-payroll rules apply to their role.
Implement processes to determine if the off-payroll rules apply to future engagements. These might include who in an organisation should make a determination and how payments will be made to contractors within the off-payroll rules.
Online help
HMRC are running a series of overview webinars, which also include an opportunity to ask questions using an online chat tool. The following webinars are currently available:
Overview of the off-payroll working rules –an end-to-end overview of the reform
Overview of the off-payroll working rules for contractors – providing contractors with an overview of the reform and an outline of what they need to do to prepare for April 2021, including the practical accounting requirements for them and their limited company or other intermediary
Making the determination, disagreements and record keeping – covering HMRC’s view on requirements to make a determination and what constitutes a disagreement. Some aspects of this webinar may be relevant to contractors.
Full details of the webinars, including links to the registration pages.
HMRC will also be running some topic-based webinars for those who already have an understanding of the basics of the off-payroll working rules. Further information on these webinars can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/help-and-support-for-off-payrollworking
HMRC say they will also be running workshops and education calls for small groups of customers that will be delivered virtually, providing a comprehensive overview of what the changes mean.
The HMRC Employment Status Manual (ESM) has been updated for the new rules and contains detailed guidance and clear explanations of how the rules should be applied. Some pages may be relevant for contractors.
CEST
The Check Employment Status for Tax tool (CEST) is already available for organisations and contractors to consider the appropriate employment status for tax for contracts running beyond 6 April 2021.
HMRC have confirmed that they will stand by the results given by the CEST tool, provided it is used in accordance with their guidance and the information entered is accurate, and remains accurate. This is regardless of when the tool is used ahead of April 2021 and means employers can already use the tool for engagements that start in April 2021 onwards.

Ok, now that mobile actually let me load your page, nice internet: curious of both Pokemon and Fullmetal Alchemist for 001 :D
Now we are talking! My two absolute favorite topics! :3 Tho I already answered fma earlier and showed it to you so only pokemon in this answer.
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
Favorite character: Mamamamairin ♥ (And Alain. And Ash. No explanations needed)
Least Favorite character: Hmmmmmmm. I... don’t know? I can’t say I’m a huge fan of any of the evil team bosses but that’s kinda obvious answer. Most of the characters are nice one way or another (except Cameron. I already talked about him in the previous answer xD)
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): marissonshipping, contestshipping (I miss them?? I’d die to see them in SM?? Pls poke/ani??? pls???), pokeshipping, ikarishipping (sort of), hmmmmm idk can I say like Kukui and Burnet? (I also like jellowshipping, moonlilyshipping, and some others)
Character I find most attractive: Lusamine xD OK /no/. That was a very bad joke. I find a lot of the poke/girls cute but attractive is /not/ the right word to describe any of them. if Alain was older I could say him but now nuh. OK wait a sec, professors Sycamore and Kukui are both pretty fine and Burnet is pretty as well :D
Character I would marry: gonna skip this bc we are talking about pokemon here (HMU Sycamore)
Character I would be best friends with: (everyone is surprised) probably Mairin. I’d also love to hang out with May. We’d bond over all the food we’d eat
A random thought: Pokemon is just so good and such a savior during bad times, it has always made me happy when I’m feeling low
An unpopular opinion: Huh. Pokemon is such a big concept that there are a lot of unpopular opinions there. I’m just gonna skip this one.
My canon OTP: eeeeeeeeeh contestshipping is the most canon of those ships I just listed but when it comes to me marisson is totally canon as well
Non-canon OTP: also marisson and pokeS and so on and so on..
Most bad*** character: there are like hundreds of characters to choose from... Gotta say that my son Ash is pretty bada** tho, I wonder how many times he has saved the world...
Pairing I am not a fan of: I have a lot of notp:s. Probably better if I don’t list them :D (but obviously all the creepy ones like adult/child ships and in/cest ships because even those can be found when you search what the fandom has done :SS)
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): when you start thinking about it, poor Ash is pretty screwed up for not ever growing... the writers should have just switched the main character after Johto or AG or something, now I feel it’s almost too late...
Favourite friendship: Ash and his original companions :’) It was so wonderful to see them together again, even if it was for such a short while. I am having all my thumbs up about them coming to Alola like promised. Edit: I just changed my mind, the purest and most important friendship is obviously Ash and Pikachu. Without Pikachu there wouldn’t be Ash, without Ash there wouldn’t be Pikachu. They belong together (in a not creepy way, come on)
Thank you, I loved answering this :3

Join Our New Online Workshops On CSS, Accessibility, Performance, And UX
About The Author
Rachel Andrew is not only Editor in Chief of Smashing Magazine, but also a web developer, writer and speaker. She is the author of a number of books, including … More about Rachel Andrew …
Our initial online workshops went so well, we have scheduled many more. Find out how what we learned from those first workshops and what we have coming up over the next two months.
It has been a month since we launched our first online workshop and, to be honest, we really didn’t know whether people would enjoy them — or if we would enjoy running them. It was an experiment, but one we are so glad we jumped into!
I spoke about the experience of taking my workshop online on a recent episode of the Smashing podcast. As a speaker, I had expected it to feel very much like I was presenting into the empty air, with no immediate feedback and expressions to work from. It turned out, however, that in some ways I felt more connected to the group by sharing my knowledge with a bunch of folks who were exactly in the same situation as me — at home trying to make the best of things!
I spoke to Vitaly about how he felt about leading a workshop online, and he also felt that everyone felt more equal, rather than having a teacher up on a podium. He also noted that we were able to see how global our audience is. Online workshops are more accessible to people who can’t travel even in normal times, and seeing everyone at home in their own environment really brought to life that we were working with folks from all around the world.
Vitaly Friedman’s online workshop setup
As a participant, there are definite advantages in attending a workshop from home. You have your own desk and usual setup, and space to spread out. And, given the workshop seating I’ve encountered in the past, most of you probably have a more comfortable chair. You can also rewatch the recording if you want to listen to an explanation again.
All The Details
As we have now formalized our workshop process, I thought I’d share a little more about how these events run. Unlike in-person workshops where we keep you in a room for an eight hour day, we realized than many of you have a lot of other commitments right now. Perhaps you are also homeschooling your children, trying to keep up with work from home, and it’s hard to be sat in front of a screen working all day. So all of our workshops are split over multiple shorter sessions, so check each workshop description for the full details of days and times. We’ve had great feedback from attendees and speakers about this approach.
In addition to the presenter, there is always at least one other member of the team online, to help with any connectivity or other issues that you might have.
With so many conferences around the world being cancelled, I’m grateful to have virtually attended a very informative @smashingconf workshop for the past couple days. Even from home, the learning never stops. pic.twitter.com/K3pbJBNpof
— Gabriel Tan-Chen (@gabrieltanchen) April 15, 2020
Zoom
We’ve chosen Zoom because they turned out to be the best compromise in terms of quality, reliability, and accessibility. You can customize your Zoom setup that works best for you. You can resize the windows of the shared screen and the speaker. You can pop out the chat. Whatever works best for you!
We record each of the sessions for attendees, so if you do miss a session you can catch up later. Or you can go back to check out a detail you want to confirm.
Chat and connect
You can also join us in Slack, to chat during or after the workshop with fellow attendees.
We have also been using collaborative Google docs during the workshops for attendees to write down their own thoughts, resources, tips, and questions. It’s interesting to see people helping each other in those docs as well as posting questions for the Q&A.
A surprising thing for me about the online workshops was that I answered more questions than I do when I teach in-person. Each session has dedicated time for Q&A, and I did not expect to be able to fill 30 minutes, but could have easily been answering questions for longer.
Blown away by all the knowledge I’ve soaked in from @rachelandrew‘s online CSS layout masterclass. Incredible how much you can learn about a thing you thought you already knew just by hearing it explained again. Thanks for organising this @smashingconf #smashingconf

Upcoming workshops
We have an amazing line-up of folk coming to share their wisdom in this online format. There really is something for everyone. Many of the previous workshops sold out, and we have a hard limit on each one, so if you want to be there, please grab a ticket now.
May 7-22, Thu & Fri, 9–11:30 AM PDT Resilient Web Systems with CSS & Sass with Miriam Suzanne.
Join Miriam for a deep-dive into the heart of CSS: how it works, what makes it special, and how we can harness it for resilient and maintainable design systems that scale. This workshop is spread over six days, 2h each day, with a huge amount to learn and take away.
May 12–26, Thu & Fri, 9–11:30 AM PDT Smart Interface Design Patterns with Vitaly Friedman.
You’ll study 100s of hand-picked interface design examples in this one. We’ll be designing interfaces together, starting from accordions, to mega-drop-downs, sliders, feature comparisons, car configurators — all the way to timelines and onboarding. This workshop is spread over five days, 2.5h each day, with a huge amount to learn and take away.
May 28–12, Thu & Fri, 9–11:30 AM PDT Web Performance Masterclass with Harry Roberts.
Over the course of several sessions, we’ll take a journey from the back-end to the front, auditing the performance of real websites. We’ll be plotting data and findings, making it compelling to clients and non-technical stakeholders; drawing up backlogs and hit-lists; hacking on fixes, improvements, and experiments; and learning a whole lot of obscure performance details on the way.
June 11-12, Thu & Fri, 10 AM – 12:30 PM CEST CSS Layout Masterclass with Rachel Andrew.
