Island Part 2 Review (Spoiler Free)

“I’m curious about what the second part will bring but I don’t have too many expectations...” Not having expectations did not save part 2.

The second part continues the story where the first one left off. Mi Ho tries to find a way to awaken the magic in her and Van comes back to help her.

By the time the second part came out, I was a bit over the drama, but I still wanted to finish it.

The plot of the story is a bit messy and I got confused about the timelines. Mostly it’s understandable because of the different costuming but I’m still not certain about those white-robed men.

The scenes, especially in the last two episodes, felt very prolonged. I could skip one or two minutes and everything will be the same which to be honest made the whole drama skippable.

Sometimes even if the plot is messy the characters will help. I said before that the characters were lacking but still can be loveable in some ways.

But rather than the characters I might just love the actors. I got tired of Mi Ho pretty quickly. She’s trying her best but always ends up being a damsel in distress. 

It would’ve been better if Van and Mi Ho got a better storyline. I get why Van is trying to save Mi Ho, but she just likes him for no good reason except... I don’t know... Fate???

This made me question why would she want to sacrifice herself for him, especially knowing Mi Ho’s description: “Arrogant and selfish”.

Cha Eun Woo’s character was still my favourite, it wasn’t very elaborate but I could connect with him more... 

The desperation after his dead brother and wanting to kill those demons is something a bit more relatable than a connection from the past life.

Overall, this drama is not worth it. The first part still had some entertaining bits while this one was just boring.

I barely remember anything that happened in the first episode of this part, so I believe that after a few days, I won’t even remember this drama exists.

A sad letdown because the story had some potential to be nice.

Was thinking about Ish's Season 2.5 Civ Event that I was in again (and consequentially having another breakdown for ten minutes because of it), and I realized something:

Living on the absolute shit hole that was Island 2 reminds me of what America is like (constantly afraid for my life, resources, and if someone will randomly start harassing me/cursing me out), and being there was the worst online/gaming/social experience of my life, no joke

Meanwhile, immigrating to Island 1 [Yggdrasil] out of fear for my sanity and blocky life, was the best damn decision I ever made. The place was a goddamn garden of beauty and safety, filled to the brim with genuinely nice people who regularly would say 'hello! :]' to my terrified ass while casually walking past

Motherf-ckers, the VERY FIRST PERSON to be nice to me without any other outside influence, was on Yggdrasil on I'm pretty sure Day 8, and he was a goddamn FIGHTER FOR INFERNUS WHO TOOK FOREVER TO GO DOWN IN THE WAR

Man, 100% genuinely, I despise most of the people on Island 2, and I hope everyone that survived on Yggdrasil and was sweet and a good team player to anyone they came across despite where they came from, I hope you all have a beautiful rest of your year ♥️
