That's a heck of a leap; gotta be about, what twenty-five feet or so? Wonder what it would have been with a clean, unimpeded landing? Hope the deer was okay after the adrenaline wore off. Ironically, the person pulling up in the SUV was there to buy the (apparently flawless pre-crash-landing) pickup, and the original post is full of people asking "But did they end up buying the truck anyway?"

Rachel clasped a hand to her mouth, "SADIE! What the...! Why?!"

Sadie shrugged, "Because we wanted to. Because we had all this built-up tension. And because I felt shit. Finn basically told me at the club that if I couldn't say yes to him now, he wasn't going to wait for me anymore. Which I understand, but it still hurt. And then he was talking to a girl at the bar. I just felt like crap, and James... He was there... And when we flirted on stage, it felt so good, so liberating, so comfortable and freeing... I just gave in. WE just gave in."

Rachel shook her head, "But sweetie, Finn loves you. He doesn't want to be with any nightclub girl. He was actually upset when we walked home together. He told me what he had said to you and how that's not really what he wants. He was just getting fed up by the fact you weren't telling him anything. But then you had left, and now he was afraid he had hurt you. He's planning on telling you today that staying away from you is not what he wants at all. He just wants answers."

Sadie could feel tears welling up. "I couldn't give him any answers. Not then..." She whispered. "The funny thing is that now I can... Last night, I suddenly saw things very clearly, and I now know why I had trouble committing to Finn." She said, wiping her eyes.

I find it so ironic how many stereotypes about narcissists aren't just inaccurate, but are actually the complete opposite of how the average narcissist thinks.

"narcissism is excessive self-love" when most narcissists feel shame more easily than non-narcs do.

"narcissists don't work hard" when most narcissists are prone to perfectionism.

"narcissists are abusers who only pretend to be victims" when most narcissists were abused in childhood and are often on the receiving end of abusive relationships in adulthood.

"narcissists don't try to fit in" when most narcissists are constantly watching for signs of respect or criticism, constantly adjusting our behavior so those around us will see us as competent and pleasant.

and then when you describe what narcissism is actually like, they insist that a narcissist would never act like that, that anyone who fits that description must just have post-traumatic stress or one of the "good" PDs (if they believe there are good ones, that is).
