Trigger warning: SA and Rape

India seriously has the biggest and most prevalent crisis of rape and sexual violence against women and girls. You cannot tell me a country that allows a doctor to get gang raped by 15 men and killed brutally is in any way okay. In 2024 alone, India had an average of 86 rape cases reported daily, with states like Rajasthan leading with over 5,399 cases. In Goa, 76% of reported rape cases in 2022 were involving little girls. Of course the justice system, controlled by men, fails to protect the women and shields other men. This systemic failure must end. The justice system should not be controlled by men, and men in India should not feel safe committing sexual violence and femicide with impunity. They’re not even addressing this. Indian women deserve better, they deserve to live safely and be protected.

The creature either didn’t hear him or it was too preoccupied with whatever it was doing. To his regret Miles soon realized what that was, as another wet snapping noise broke the silence once more. The creature was crouched down on all fours over what Miles assumed was the body of an officer, though it was so mutilated that it was hard to tell for sure. Its head was buried into the chest of the body beneath it, another wet snapping noise emerging as it pulled out a couple of ribs between its bloodied jaws... Or The Spider-Gang goes looking for Hobie. They don’t like what they find.

I ultimately wish Bridgerton had just scrapped the idea of racism and racial prejudice from their world and just had a world where that, really, wasn't an issue. Like that within itself would have been perfect because, not only, would it allow poc viewers to see themselves in a show without having to explain or justify how they got there (because whenever poc are in historical fantasies all of a sudden we have to face oppression or else it's not accurate 🙄) but also because...the introduction that racism did exist in their world was very...messily added, to say the least.

this clip of sid vicious at iws (??) powerbombing sami zayn (????), then going by big larry resurfaced in the aftermath of sid eudy's death, and people on reddit were clowning on it going "lol what a horrible sell job" and "i guess sami got better at selling as he got older this SUCKS" cause big larry does kind of no-sell it. but in a way that's deliberately obviously comedic, because he just kind of pops right up from it, then yeets himself over the top rope to flee the area. so i was watching it and thinking i know sami knew how to sell even back then, so what's going on here. i may have left an Average Redditor comment telling everyone how wrong they are and how it's not inexpert selling but a comedy spot because that's literally sid vicious vs the smallest weediest boy you've ever seen in a random montreal promotion.

i later find an interview with kevin steen where he recalls the match with tears in his eyes, saying how they all remembered the spot as "sid powerbombs big larry so hard he literally bounces off the match and over the top rope" (thus eliminating himself from the battle royal style match). but then when "we" rewatched it (no prizes as to who "we" in this case would be) it's clear that big larry just stood up, walked to the rope and jumped over. meaning that basically, he had an overambitious idea for a really cool selljob that he could not pull off at all at that stage (maybe never? physically a bit impossible maybe?) and ended up just pulling himself up and looking like he completely no-sold the elevated powerbomb of sid vicious.

and i recount this for you now because a) i was RIGHT you reddit idiots i KNEW it was meant to be a comedy elimination spot sami ALWAYS knew how to sell and b) he did actually still fuck it up and kevin remembers. and i now have vivid certainty that, possibly still to this day, in quiet moments, kevin will just go "wow. remmeber that time you no sold sid vicious's powerbomb." or "it's crazy you complain about my frog splash hurting you when you shook off sid vicious powerbombing you like it was nothing, what happened to the man you once were" and this knowledge makes me so happy.
