Ok, I know it was said as a joke and rather nonchalantly, but can we talk about Crowley's "I say something brilliant, he says something unintentionally funny" line?
Like... Crowley, aren't you being rather unfair here? And dismissive, and patronizing? I know you feel you're at a point you can tease each other, but... You really do take Aziraphale for granted a bit, don't you?
Aziraphale is pretty damn smart, and when he's acting silly, he often does so on purpose. "Rescuing me makes him so happy", and all. Do you not know that? And when you talk philosophy, he's not just a wall for your cleverness to bounce off of. You prod and poke him, and he pokes right back, that's the fun of it. You're partners, you're equals, you almost understand each other, right?
Right...
And with "how can somebody so clever be so stupid", I think I'm starting to see a bit of a pattern. Crowley, you don't think Aziraphale is actually stupid, I don't think you would - but perhaps you don't trust him? You don't trust him to make the right call, to have a plan, to be cognizant of his actions? You underestimate him. You think he's naive, and perhaps you're partially right, but you never tell him the details, and still expect him to get the full picture! You want him to just trust you blindly, without the receipts, without the reasoning (Maybe that has something to do with Aziraphale previously thinking you're lying because you're a demon, but that's neither here nor there, and this thing is already getting long).
I know we've been talking about how Aziraphale doesn't really understand Crowley, but I think it goes both ways. As is usual with the two of them.

prologue
Tumblr media
''wake up.'' you heard a voice. a guy's voice. it took you a while to actually wake up and realize it was patrick, leaning against your door frame.
you groaned and threw your pillow at him. ''get the fuck out!''
he chuckled and picked up the pillow, throwing it back at you with more force. ''it's 8am. you have to get up, like, now.''
''ugh! why are you even in my room, zweig? have you been watching me or something? you fucking perv. go away!''you yelled, pulling the blanket over your head. and of course the fucker had to walk over to your bed and pull the blanket off of you.
''look, it's not my fault we got paired up in the same cabin. now if you stopped being a fucking bitch for once and got up, that would be great. we have to do the whole initiation bullshit with all those kids. get out of the fucking bed.'' he said and slammed the door.
it was an actual nightmare come true. patrick never had any concept of personal space, but you thought that maybe it was just a phase. turns out it wasn't. he looked almost ready to get into bed with you-but only so that he could push you off of it. not that you wished he would get into bed with you to do something else- no, ew. you'd sleep with anyone but patrick zweig.
but he did look good. and even though you didn't want to admit it, you knew it. he's tall, muscular and handsome. perhaps that contributes to your hatred for him. you couldn't stand it when he looked at you with those doe-like green eyes of his. or when he bit his lip at the most inappropiate times. or the way the muscles in his legs flexed when he was running. or how nice his freckles look.
but you were not attracted to patrick, god no. these were just little exceptions.
well, maybe this morning was an exception as well. the way he spoke to you turned you on, weirdly. he seemed so pissed off- he looks hot when he's angry. maybe that's why you get a kick out of annoying him.
you finally rolled out of bed with a groan, checking the time. it was, in fact, not 8 am, as patrick had told you, but 7:30. the fucker.
you decided on not going back to sleep anymore- mostly because you weren't that sleepy anymore but also because you didn't want to let your thoughts about patrick wander. the most ridiculous and embarassing thing would be to jerk off while thinking about that smug little bitch. you would have good excuses though- it was morning, you were just horny, blah blah blah. but still, the aftermath of it all would have been the most humbling experience ever so you decided it was best to just skip all of it.
after doing no efforts in making your bed, you headed to the bathroom to brush your teeth and put on a bit of makeup, then you put on a pair of shorts and a stupid t-shirt with the name of the camp on it. and just when you were about to leave the cabin, you noticed patrick's door was slightly open. would it realyyy be that bad if you looked around his room a bit?
no, it wouldn't. he barged into your room while you were still in there, sleeping, without even knocking. so it can't be worse than that.
you opened the door and looked around. it smelt like axe body spray and cigarettes. you looked up at the smoke detector and obviously it was covered with a shower cap. it was such a patrick thing to do. then, you noticed the fact that he hadn't made his bed. also a very patrick thing. but then you remembered your bed looks exactly the same so you quickly found something else to focus on- the fucking sock next to his bed. just one, singular sock on the floor- gross. so. fucking. gross. to think he was jerking his shit in a room right next to yours- just straight up gross. not hot- not hot at all. it's actually disgusting to think about him slowly stroking his big, throbbing dick with pretty moans falling from his lips (such a shame you didn't hear them). what was he thinking about? about you, maybe. but you hope it wasn't you, 'cause that would definitely not be hot- not at all.
when you opened the door you found patrick in front of the cabin, checking his phone.
you sighed, loudly, so that he could hear you. he did not react. you did it again- but still, no reaction from him.
you decided to break the silence. '' why the fuck did you come here? did you know i was gonna be here? your parents are fucking rich. you're basically swimming in money there, at your house. why couldn't you stay there?'' you snapped at him, slightly surprising yourself. you did plan on having this conversation with him, but you didn't expect it to happen so soon. it was like you were speaking without actually wanting to.
''wouldn't you like to know.'' he deadpanned, then continued to type something on his phone.
you stared at him, tapping your foot. ''you checking if i replied to that text you sent me three days ago? 'cause i didn't. and just so you know, i was not smiling at you.''
''it looked like you were. i bet you missed me.'' he finally looked up from his phone but without making eye contact with you yet. he was smirking. again. you felt like punching him. again.
''zweig, i swear if you don't shut up-''
''make me shut up, then.'' he said. so fucking cheesy.
''your stupid pick-up lines don't work on me. you're not gonna turn me into one of your fangirls'' you warned him, inching closer and closer to him. ''and by the way, i'll get back at you for waking me up earlier. you're a fucking cunt.''
he didn't reply anything. he just looked directly into your eyes, with his eyebrows slightly raised. it was almost like his face was screaming, punch me! punch me!
you ignored your violent urges- you figured it would be better to put all that energy into something else- maybe, instead of punching him, you could flood his room- something of the sort.
but of course, that would be quite impossible given the fact that you would have to pay actual money for the damage. so, maybe punching was still an option, but not yet.
''i'm starving. i'll go get some breakfast.'' you said as you started walking away. ''-and don't try to sit next to me at the table. it's enough i have to sleep in the same cabin as you- i don't want to be reminded of your gross eating habits.'' pickles and peanut butter, disgusting. you remember how patrick used to eat that, in the school cafeteria- like actually. and with people around him. and still- he got girls. somehow.
he immediately came running after you, laughing a bit- ''oh come on, i don't eat that shit anymore, i was like 15 back then. and plus- i don't know anyone around here-'' he tried to make a point, but you cut him off with a loud and clear 'no.' he sighed and rolled his eyes at that, but ended up sitting on the opposite side of the table.
the whole time you were having breakfast you could feel his eyes on you. only this time, he wasn't smirking or grinning or anything of the sort- he just looked like a lost puppy.
it almost made you feel bad.

Jongho made his way back to the dorm, the small purple box Nari had entrusted him with gripped firmly in his hand. The quiet of the dorm seemed to amplify his growing anxiety. He knew he had to talk to the boys about Nari, but his day had already been filled with so many emotions. He felt a headache coming on, his head heavy with the weight of it all. Maybe it’s better if he waits a bit before talking to them. He took off his shoes and jacket and approached the kitchen.
Once in the kitchen, he decided to make a cup of tea, hoping the warm drink would help with his headache and calm his swirling thoughts. He picked up the small purple box that Nari had given him, his fingers tracing the edges gently. A small smile began to play on his lips as he held the box, the weight of it in his hands bringing back the memory of the little girl who had given it to him. He was reminiscing about the way he held Nari in his arms, her little head on his shoulder and big eyes carefully watching him. He already loved holding her, feeling her small body against his. It was the first time he held his daughter in his arms, and he wished he could do it more often from now on. He didn't want to leave, but he knew better than to put his selfish desires first. It was strange, this sudden realization of himself as a father. The idea was still so new, so foreign to him. He'd spent his whole life thinking of himself as an individual, but now he was a part of something bigger, something more important than himself. He was a father. And, despite the fear and uncertainty that came with that thought, he also felt a sense of pride and responsibility. He was a father, and he was going to do everything in his power to be a good one.
However, the happiness was fading due to one name constantly reappearing in his mind—Hyunwoo. Jongho's lingering thoughts about Hyunwoo began to tarnish his newfound joy, creating an undercurrent of unease that he couldn't shake off. Try as he might to focus on the positive, the thought of Hyunwoo continued to gnaw at him, threatening to overshadow the happiness he had found in Nari.
The sound of the kettle whistling brought him back to the present, and he quickly turned off the stove. He poured the steaming water into his cup; the scent of the tea leaves slowly diffusing into the air. As he sipped his tea, he found his mind drifting back to the day's events. Despite the uncertainty and the lingering questions, he couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. He was determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead, for the sake of his relationship with Nari and, possibly, with you.
Jongho picked up his cup in one hand and the small purple box of cookies in the other and began walking towards his room. Just as he was about to open the door, he heard his name being called out.
"Jongho, you're back?" A familiar voice echoed through the dorm. It was Hongjoong, his voice carrying from the confines of his room. The older boy's voice was soft, laced with a hint of concern.
"Yeah, it's me," Jongho answered as he followed to Hongjoong's room. When he entered the room, he found Hongjoong sitting at his desk, as usual, engrossed in his work. The room was dimly lit, with only a small reading lamp casting long shadows on the walls. Jongho paused at the doorway, watching Hongjoong for a moment. His gaze softened at the sight of the older boy, his usually vibrant eyes now filled with a quiet seriousness,
"Is everything okay?" Hongjoong asked, lifting his gaze from the laptop to meet Jongho's.
Jongho nodded, slowly, "Yeah, just a lot on my mind." He knew he couldn't avoid the conversation any longer.
"Does it have anything to do with Y/N?" Hongjoong asked as he closed his laptop and put his headphones back on the desk.
Jongho hesitated for a moment before answering. "Yes," he finally admitted, his gaze dropping to the cup of tea in his hands. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation he knew he had to have. Hongjoong's expression turned serious, and he nodded for Jongho to continue. He knew that when Jongho was ready to talk, he would.
Just as Jongho was about to speak, his gaze fell on the small, purple box he had almost forgotten about. "This," he held up the box, "is from Nari." His voice was soft, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "She wanted me to give it to Wooyoung. It's cookies she made."
Hongjoong's eyes widened in surprise, "That's really sweet of her," he said, a fond smile on his face. "Wooyoung will definitely appreciate this."
Jongho nodded in agreement, "Yes, he will" he replied, a hint of sadness in his voice. It was clear that he was still lost in his thoughts, the earlier conversation with you clearly weighing on his mind.
"I know you held a company meeting today," Hongjoong started, he leaned over to pat a chair next to him, a clear invitation for Jongho to sit down. His eyes held a glimmer of understanding, as if he knew that Jongho had a lot on his mind and was ready to lend a listening ear. Jongho took the invitation and sat down, setting the cookie box aside. Hongjoong reached out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Wanna talk about it?" he asked gently, his eyes filled with concern.
Jongho stared at him for a moment, then let out a sigh. "Yes," Jongho confessed, finally releasing the words he had held back. "I need to talk about it. I need to talk about Y/N, about Nari... and about a man named Hyunwoo." His voice was heavy with a mixture of confusion, longing, and a trace of fear.
Hongjoong's eyebrows furrowed at this. "Hyunwoo?" he echoed, a hint of surprise in his voice. "Who is he?"
Jongho sighed, his gaze dropping to his hands. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper. "But he's close to Y/N. I saw a text message from him on her phone. He referred to her as 'love'." His voice faltered slightly at the end, the words leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.
Hongjoong was silent for a moment, processing the information. The atmosphere in the room was heavy, "Have you talked to Y/N about this?"
Jongho shook his head. "I didn't get the chance. And even if I did... I wouldn't know what to say." He looked up, meeting Hongjoong's gaze. "What do I even ask? How do I bring this up without sounding like I invaded her privacy?"
Hongjoong thought for a moment. "Firstly," he began, "you didn't invade her privacy. You found her phone and saw the message. It's not like you went snooping through her texts." He paused, giving Jongho a reassuring look. "And as for what to ask... Just be honest. Tell her what you saw and how it made you feel. It's better to talk things out than to let your thoughts spiral."
"I don't think it's a good idea to talk to her about how I feel," Jongho said, his hands tapping nervously on the table. "She's reminding me all the time that we are doing this for Nari, yet I can't help but feel all of these emotions when I am with her."
"What emotions?" Hongjoong asked.
Jongho paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know... I feel... confused, I guess? And I can't help but feel a bit jealous when I think about this Hyunwoo guy. And there's more... I feel a connection with her, it's like something’s drawing me towards her. It's hard to explain."
Hongjoong nodded, understanding in his eyes. "It sounds like you're still in love with her, Jongho."
"How can I be in love with her? It's been five years," Jongho almost whispered, emotion threatening to overwhelm him any moment now.
"Love doesn't just disappear, Jongho," Hongjoong replied, his voice filled with understanding. "It can lie dormant, waiting for the right moment to resurface. And seeing Y/N again, meeting your daughter... those are powerful triggers."
The words hung in the air, heavy and undeniable. Jongho didn't respond immediately, his gaze fixed on the floor. Finally, he looked up at Hongjoong, his expression vulnerable. "Maybe I am. But what does it matter? She has someone else in her life. And even if she didn't, it doesn't mean she feels the same about me."
"Jongho," Hongjoong began, his voice steady and calm. "Feelings are complicated. It's completely normal to feel the way you do. You and Y/N have a history together and now you have a daughter. It's natural to have feelings for her."
"But what if she doesn't feel the same? What if I'm just holding onto something that isn't there anymore?" Jongho asked, his voice heavy with worry.
"Then you'll deal with it," Hongjoong stated simply. "You can't control how she feels, just like she can't control how you feel. All you can do is be honest with her and with yourself." Jongho nodded, taking in Hongjoong's words. His heart was still heavy, and the fear of the unknown still loomed over him, but he felt a bit calmer, a bit more ready to face whatever was to come. "Jongho, you don't have to choose between focusing on Nari or pursuing your feelings towards Y/N," Hongjoong continued. "I am not a father but…" At these words, Jongho chuckled, looking at Hongjoong. The older boy had always been like a father figure in the band, always looking out for the others and guiding them when they needed it. Hongjoong laughed softly, catching on to Jongho's thoughts. "I mean, I'm not a real father," he added, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "But I believe that if you want to create a family with Y/N, it can't be done in separate stages," Hongjoong continued, his words filled with understanding. "You can't simply discard your emotions and solely concentrate on being a father. It's not that straightforward. These two aspects are linked and need to grow together. You're not just a father, Jongho, but a man who still loves the mother of his child. And that's okay. It's okay to allow yourself to feel this way, to explore these feelings while also focusing on being a father to Nari. It's okay to be human and not have everything figured out. This journey you're on, it's not just about parenting, but also about healing and growing as a person. And part of that growth involves acknowledging and understanding your feelings for Y/N. So, don't try to separate the two. Let them happen at the same time." Hongjoong's words hung in the air, heavy with truth and understanding. Jongho felt a strange mix of relief and fear. The idea of allowing himself to experience these complex emotions was daunting, yet it also felt right. He understood that he had been trying to separate his feelings, handling one thing at a time to keep control. But life, as he was quickly learning, was rarely that simple.
Jongho nodded, acknowledging the truth in Hongjoong's words. He felt a sense of gratitude towards his friend for offering a perspective he hadn't considered. "You're right, Hongjoong," he admitted, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I guess I've been trying to simplify things, to make this all more manageable. But I can't ignore my feelings for Y/N. And I won't." He paused, letting the words sink in. "I need to confront this, for Nari, for Y/N, and for myself."
Hongjoong returned the smile, his eyes reflecting a sense of understanding and support. "That's the spirit, Jongho," he encouraged. "Facing our emotions may be scary, but it's the only way to truly understand ourselves and move forward. And remember, you don't have to do this alone. I'm here for you."
Jongho felt a surge of gratitude. He was lucky to have such a supportive friend. He knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but with Hongjoong’s support, he felt ready to face whatever came his way.
Feeling lighter than before, Jongho allowed a genuine smile to reach his eyes. In a playful tone, he joked, "I aspire to be as good of a father as you, Hongjoong." This comment earned him a small punch in the arm from his friend, who couldn't help but break into laughter at the compliment.
Their moment of levity was suddenly interrupted by Wooyoung's voice. "Who wants to be a father?" the boy, who had just woken up from his nap, asked. Standing in the doorway with tousled hair, he looked at them with curiosity.
Caught off guard, Jongho and Hongjoong exchanged a glance, both momentarily at a loss for words. "For how long have you been listening?" Jongho asked, his playful demeanor from a minute ago long gone.
"Well, it's just that San woke up and wanted me to grab him a glass of water, and I just left my room," Wooyoung yawned.
Hongjoong gave Wooyoung a quick glance before returning his gaze to Jongho. "We were just talking about...things," he said vaguely, not wanting to delve into the details. Jongho nodded, appreciating Hongjoong's discretion.
"So, San is here?'' Jongho asked, his gaze shifting briefly towards the direction of Wooyoung's room. There was a hint of curiosity in his voice, a subtle shift in the atmosphere as he awaited Wooyoung's response.
"Yeah, he is," Wooyoung answered, rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes. He stifled a yawn before continuing, "He couldn't sleep well last night, so he came over earlier to catch up on some sleep."
Jongho nodded in understanding then turned to Hongjoong, seeking his opinion. "Should we just call the rest of the guys then?" he asked, his eyes searching for reassurance in Hongjoong's gaze.
Hongjoong considered the suggestion for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I think it's time," he agreed, a sense of determination in his voice. "We should all be on the same page about this."
"What are you guys even talking about?" Wooyoung asked, clearly confused, as he leaned into the doorframe. His eyes flicked between Hongjoong and Jongho, searching for answers in their serious expressions. But before Jongho could open his mouth to explain, a loud voice from Wooyoung's bedroom caught them all off guard.
"Ya! Wooyoung, do you want me to die of thirst?" San's voice rang out, filled with exaggerated distress. The three of them turned towards the direction of the voice, a look of amusement passing between them.
"Quit being so dramatic!" Wooyoung shouted back, rolling his eyes but not able to hide the smile tugging at his lips. He then pushed himself off from the doorframe and finally made his way into the kitchen.
"I thought separating those two would earn me some peace," Hongjoong sighed, his gaze following Wooyoung as he made his way into the kitchen, "But what was the point of dividing us into three different dorms when San is always here." He shook his head, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Despite his grumbles, it was clear that he wouldn't have it any other way. The bond they all shared was unbreakable, and no matter how often they bickered or teased each other, at the end of the day, they were family. "I'll send a message to the rest of the boys," Hongjoong offered, pushing himself up from his chair and stretching his arms above his head. He looked at Jongho, a determined expression on his face. "In the meantime, you should go and grab some food for us. We'll need something to keep us going while we discuss everything." He paused, a smirk playing on his lips. "Ever since Yeosang moved in with Yunho, I swear those two live off air and video games. I bet they haven't had a proper meal in days." He shook his head in mock disapproval, his tone dripping with dramatic exaggeration.
Jongho chuckled at Hongjoong's dramatic performance, acknowledging the truth in his words. "Alright, I'll pick up some food. Any preferences?" he asked, standing up from the chair.
"How about something spicy? The spicier the better," Hongjoong suggested, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I bet that would wake San and Wooyoung up pretty quickly."
Jongho laughed, shaking his head at Hongjoong's antics. "Spicy it is then," he conceded, pulling on his jacket. As he was about to leave, he paused at the door, turning to look at Hongjoong. "Thanks, hyung," he said, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.
Hongjoong simply nodded, a warm smile on his face. "Anytime, Jongho. We're all in this together, remember?"
Jongho smiled at his older friend and nodded, "I'll remember that" he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
"Hey, San! Rise and shine, sleep is for the weak!" Hongjoong shouted with a mischievous grin as he entered Wooyoung's bedroom.
Jongho smiled to himself, pulling on his jacket. His conversation with Hongjoong had left him feeling a little lighter, a little more hopeful. The road ahead was still unclear, filled with unknowns and potential challenges, but he was not alone. He had his friends, his brothers, standing by his side, ready to face whatever came their way together.
Just as Jongho stepped out of the dorm, he fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed your number. As he made his way towards the nearest restaurant, he could feel the nervous energy coursing through him. He still hadn't fully processed everything that had happened, and despite the reassurance he got from Hongjoong, he was still filled with a sense of unease. He wanted to call you to discuss the decision he had made about telling the boys about his newfound fatherhood. He felt he needed your consent to move forward with this, and he was hoping to get your approval. He waited for you to pick up, each ring echoing in his ears, amplifying his anxiety. Just when he was about to end the call, assuming you were busy, he heard the phone being picked up. However, instead of your voice, he was met with a male voice, catching him off guard.
Jongho's heart skipped a beat as the unfamiliar voice echoed in his phone. "Hello, Y/N's phone. Who is this?" the voice asked, a hint of curiosity lacing his tone.
Jongho cleared his throat, trying to keep his voice steady. "This is Jongho," he replied, his mind racing as he tried to figure out who the person on the other end of the line was.
"Oh, Jongho? Y/N's mentioned you," the voice replied, sounding slightly surprised. "This is Hyunwoo."
The mention of the name sent a shock through Jongho. This was the Hyunwoo he'd been worrying about, the one whose name had been haunting him. He struggled to find his voice, the shock leaving him momentarily speechless.
"Is Y/N there?" Jongho finally managed to ask, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Uh, she's in the shower. Can I take a message?" Hyunwoo offered, seemingly oblivious to the tension on Jongho's end.
"No, it's... it's okay. I'll call back later," Jongho replied, quickly hanging up the phone. His mind was a whirlwind, the implications of the call leaving him breathless. He stood there for a moment, trying to collect his thoughts, before continuing his walk to the restaurant.
Jongho tried his hardest to shove the thoughts to the back of his mind, but they kept creeping up, filling his thoughts as he mindlessly entered the restaurant. He ordered the food, his eyes glued to the menu but his mind somewhere else entirely—on Hyunwoo, on you, on Nari. The anxiety was clawing at him, the gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach growing with each passing minute. He couldn't help but imagine Hyunwoo there with you, spending time with Nari while he was away. These thoughts consumed him as he waited to pick up his order, his heart pounding against his chest in rhythm with the ticking of the clock.
Finally, he left the restaurant, his hands clutching the bags of food tighter than necessary. He was about to enter his building, his mind still swirling with what-ifs and worst-case scenarios, when his phone rang. It was you, calling him back. He felt his heart skip a beat, the sight of your name on his screen both comforting and terrifying. He took a deep breath, bracing himself for the conversation that was about to follow.
Just before he picked up the call, he steeled himself, reminding himself that he needed to focus on the bigger picture. With a deep breath, he answered the call, his voice steady as he greeted, "Hello, Y/N."
"Jongho you called earlier? I just got out of the shower. Is everything okay?" Your voice echoed in his ear, a mixture of concern and surprise.
"Yeah, everything is fine," Jongho quickly reassured you. He paused, trying to figure out how to approach the conversation. "I just... I wanted to talk to you about something." He could hear the hesitation in his own voice, his mind racing with thoughts of what your reaction might be.
"Sure, what's up?" You asked, your voice filled with curiosity. Your calm demeanor helped Jongho to steady himself. He realized he needed to be honest, to talk to you about his feelings and the decisions he had made.
"I... I've decided to talk to the boys about... about Nari," Jongho confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. He held his breath, waiting for your response, the silence on the other end of the line amplifying his anxiety.
After what felt like forever, you finally responded. Your voice, when you spoke, was soft, filled with understanding. "Jongho... I think that's a good idea," you reassured him, your words lifting a weight off his shoulders. "They are your family. They deserve to know."
Jongho let out a sigh of relief, his heart pounding in his chest. "Thank you, Y/N," he whispered, gratitude flooding his voice.  With your consent, he felt ready to face whatever came next. Yet, Jongho was dying to ask about Hyunwoo, to understand who he was in relation to you. Just as he was about to give in to the urge to know, he heard Hyunwoo's voice in the distance, calling your name. His heart skipped a beat, the sound of Hyunwoo's voice serving as a stark reminder of the complexity of the situation.
"Love, are you still on the phone?" Hyunwoo's voice echoed in the background, his tone casual and familiar. The sound of his voice sent a sharp pang of jealousy through Jongho, stirring up a whirlwind of emotions that he struggled to keep at bay.
"Who was that?" Jongho found himself asking, the words escaping his lips before he had a chance to fully process them. He could hear the curiosity lacing his tone, a direct reflection of the whirlwind of thoughts swirling in his mind. However, as soon as the question left his mouth, he immediately regretted it. He could feel a sudden rush of apprehension washing over him, a stark reminder of the delicate line he was treading. This was not a conversation he wanted to have over the phone, and certainly not one he wanted to rush into. Knowing that he had stepped into a territory that he was not ready to traverse, Jongho quickly tried to deflect his previous question. "Actually, never mind. It's not important," he said, his voice filled with a forced casualness. He didn't want to pry into your personal life, at least not yet, not when he himself was still trying to figure out his own feelings.
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line, making Jongho's heart pound in his chest. He could almost feel the wheels turning in your head, deciding how to respond to his sudden withdrawal. "Jongho, it's okay," you finally spoke, your voice gentle, almost soothing. "Hyunwoo is..."
However, before you could finish, Jongho, eager to end the call, interrupted you. "I'm actually about to talk to the guys now." There was a certain finality in his voice, a determination that suggested he had made up his mind and was ready to face whatever came next. "We'll talk more later, Y/N." With that, he ended the call, his heart pounding in his chest. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves.
Upon reaching the dorm, Jongho paused at the entrance to gather his thoughts. He took a moment to look at the bags of food he carried in his hands, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Here goes nothing," he whispered under his breath, drawing in one long, calming breath before he pushed open the door.
Inside, he was greeted by the familiar faces of his friends. Their expressions were a mix of curiosity and concern. His gaze naturally found Hongjoong, who gave him a reassuring nod, a silent message of support that eased some of the anxiety Jongho felt.
Taking a deep breath, Jongho broke the silence. "I brought some food," he said, setting down the bags on the table. His voice was steady, but the members could sense a hidden tension beneath his casual demeanor.
Yunho immediately stood up and walked over to Jongho. "Let me help you," he offered, taking some of the bags from Jongho. With Yunho's help, the food was quickly spread out on the table.
"But before we start eating," Jongho began, setting down the plates and chopsticks. His voice had turned serious, causing the members to pause mid-conversation and look at him. "There's something important I wanted to discuss with you all."
"What's up, Jongho?" Seonghwa asked, his brow furrowing in concern. The atmosphere in the room had noticeably shifted, the air charged with anticipation.
Jongho paused for a moment, taking in another deep, steadying breath. His heart pounded rapidly, echoing loudly in his ears. The reality of what he was about to reveal made him feel as if he was carrying an enormous, burdensome load. He looked around at everyone gathered in the room, their expectant gazes only adding to the pressure he was under. Summoning every ounce of courage he had, he finally spoke up, his voice steady despite the nerves. "I have something important to share with you all," he began, his words hanging heavy in the air. He took another pause, letting the seriousness of his statement sink in. "Something... significant."
The members exchanged curious and worried glances. "What's going on?" Yunho asked, instinctively sitting up straighter, his eyes keenly focused on the youngest. Jongho momentarily hesitated, his lips parting as he searched for the right words to convey his news.
"Are you okay?" Mingi asked, his voice filled with genuine concern. The members had picked up on Jongho’s hesitation, their worry for their friend evident.
Jongho nodded his head affirmatively, his eyes reflecting a sense of calm acceptance. "Yes," he began, his voice steady and reassuring, "I'm perfectly fine." He paused momentarily, gathering his thoughts before continuing. "Recently, I found out that..." His expression softened, a hint of vulnerability seeping through. "I... I have a daughter. A beautiful little girl who has made me see the world in a whole new light. Her name is Nari." The room seemed to swallow itself in a stunned, thick silence, as if the air had been sucked out in one fell swoop. The boys, taken aback, could only stare at Jongho, their gazes boring into him as they grappled with the enormity of the revelation he had just made.
"A daughter?" Wooyoung repeated, his voice barely above a whisper, the word reverberating around the room. His eyes were wide with shock, disbelief etched into every feature of his face. His mind was spinning, trying to comprehend the unexpected news. "Since when?" He finally managed to stammer out, the question hanging heavy in the air.
Jongho nodded again, his eyes meeting each of theirs in turn. "Yes, a daughter. She's going to be four years old soon. I only learned about her, well… yesterday."
Struggling to comprehend the situation, San managed to stammer out, "How... how did this happen?" His facial expression was a perfect illustration of his bewilderment and surprise.
Wooyoung, attempting to alleviate the tension in the room with a quip, scoffed and said, "Did you seriously just ask him about the birds and the bees?" His attempt at humor served as a brief respite in the heavy atmosphere.
Jongho chuckled nervously at Wooyoung's comment, appreciating the attempt to lighten the mood. "It's... complicated," he admitted. "But what's important now is that she's here, and I want to do right by her."
Yeosang, who had been quiet the whole time, finally spoke up. "Jongho, this is huge. How are you handling it?"
Jongho sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's overwhelming, to be honest. But I want to be a part of Nari's life. That's why I needed to tell you all. I need your support and understanding as I navigate this."
The members were quiet for a moment, processing the news. Then, Yunho spoke up, his voice gentle. "We're here for you, Jongho. Whatever you need, we'll support you."
Seonghwa, who had been quietly absorbing the revelation, finally voiced his thoughts. "What about your daughter's mom?" he inquired; his tone full of worry. "Don't tell me you're married!" His terrified expression was somewhat amusing.
Jongho laughed lightly, shaking his head at Seonghwa's worry. "No, no, I'm not married. Her mom is Y/N. We dated a while back, but… let’s just say things didn't work out." He paused, the mention of your name bringing a soft smile to his lips. "But despite everything, we're trying to work together for Nari's sake."
"I can't believe there's a mini version of Jongho walking around this earth," Yeosang exclaimed, his eyes wide with astonishment. The room, previously filled with shock and concern, lit up as the other members burst into laughter.
"Yeah, imagine a tiny Jongho running around, breaking apples left and right," San joked, grinning widely.
Jongho found himself caught up in the infectious laughter, his shoulders dropping as some of the tension he had been carrying seemed to melt away. He said, "She's got my eyes," a clear note of pride resonating in his voice.
Yunho, his expression painted with curiosity, tilted his head slightly, "Does she also have your voice?" he asked.
A warm smile spread across Jongho's face as he spoke. "She's definitely got some musical talent. Y/N told me she loves singing along to our songs."
"Looks like we've got a future idol in the making," Hongjoong remarked, a twinkle of excitement in his eyes.
Seonghwa leaned in, a playful smirk on his face. "So, Jongho, when are we going to teach her the choreography for our next comeback?"
"One step at a time, guys," Jongho chuckled. "First, I need to actually get to know her better."
Mingi nudged him with his elbow. "You know, this means you'll have to take her to one of our dance practices. She must see her dad in action."
"She would love that," Jongho admitted, his heart warming at the thought.
"I honestly thought Seonghwa, with his baby fever, would have a baby first," Wooyoung laughed, resulting in a smack from Seonghwa.
"Ya, Wooyoung!" Seonghwa responded in mock outrage, though the corners of his mouth lifted into an amused smile. "Just because I like kids doesn't mean I'm ready to have one yet."
Hongjoong couldn't resist joining in on the friendly banter. "And who in their right mind would want to have a child with Seonghwa?" he teased, a playful grin spreading across his face.
In response, Seonghwa fixed him with a mock stern look. "Watch it, Hongjoong," he warned with a playful glint in his eyes, "Or I'll make sure you're the first one to babysit."
The room filled with laughter again, the light-hearted teasing helping to diffuse any lingering tension.
"You know," Wooyoung said, still chuckling, "if Seonghwa did have a kid, that kid would be the most spoiled child on the planet."
"Only the best for my imaginary child," Seonghwa retorted with a smirk. The room erupted in laughter again, the playful banter easing the tension even more.
Jongho couldn't help but laugh along with them, feeling a deep sense of gratitude for his friends' support and humor. "Thanks, guys," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I really appreciate all of you."
"Seriously, though," Mingi said, looking at Jongho with a sincere expression. "We’re all here for you. Anything you need, just let us know."
"Yeah," Yeosang chimed in. "We’re Uncle Ateez now. We'll spoil her rotten."
Jongho’s heart swelled with gratitude. "It means a lot to me. I was nervous about telling you all, but your support means everything."
Hongjoong nodded. "We’re a family. We stick together no matter what."
"Plus, we can teach her all the important things," San added with a mischievous grin. "Like how to prank you."
As the teasing and laughter continued, Jongho felt a profound sense of relief. His brothers' acceptance and support meant the world to him. It gave him the strength and confidence he needed to face the challenges ahead, knowing that he wasn't alone. He had his family by his side, ready to support him as he stepped into his new role as a father.
Wooyoung grinned, trying to lighten the mood. "So, when do we get to meet her? I mean, she's part of the family now, right?"
Jongho cleared his throat, feeling a sudden rush of nerves. "Actually... you've already met her," he confessed, his gaze dropping to the floor.
The announcement was met with a stunned silence as the members stared at him, their eyes wide in disbelief. "What do you mean we've already met her?" Yunho asked, his voice filled with confusion.
Jongho nodded, taking a deep breath before continuing. "Y/N was at our fan meeting with Nari." The memory of the fan meeting caused a wave of realization to wash over the members. They remembered seeing a little girl there.
"That little girl... That was Nari?" Mingi asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jongho nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Yes, that was Nari."
Wooyoung, who was completely dumbfounded, finally broke the silence. "Wait, so you're telling me the sweetest little girl who jumped right into my arms, that pure angel... is your daughter?" His voice was filled with astonishment as he stared at Jongho, the realization slowly sinking in.
Jongho chuckled lightly at Wooyoung's reaction, appreciating the humor in the situation. "Yes, that's right."
Wooyoung laughed, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he declared, "It's over for you bitches! I'm already her favorite." His confident assertion was met with a burst of mocking laughter from the other members. They playfully booed and wooed him, their friendly banter echoing throughout the room. The energetic atmosphere was infectious, and despite the weight of the revelation he had just shared, Jongho found himself joining in the laughter.
"Well, I made her laugh," San argued, crossing his arms indignantly, "Everyone knows that laughter is the key to a kid's heart. So technically, I should be her favorite."
"Laughter, huh?" Wooyoung retorted with a smirk, "Well, I actually got a hug from her. Physical contact beats laughter any day."
Yunho decided to chime in, "Guys, I think we're all forgetting that I'm the one who gave her a high five. So, I'm pretty sure I'm her favorite."
Jongho couldn't help but laugh at the ongoing friendly competition, feeling a sense of warmth spread through him. "Guys, it's not a competition," he finally managed to say, his voice filled with amusement. "But it's great to see that you're all excited to be a part of Nari's life."
"Of course we are," San responded, his voice sincere. "She's part of our family."
Hongjoong, who had been silently observing the playful chaos, decided to intervene. "Alright, that's enough," he declared, a playful smirk on his face. "Jongho, you need to tell us who her favorite is. A man's pride is at stake now." Wooyoung looked at Jongho expectantly, a triumphant smile already forming on his lips.
Jongho sighed, wishing he didn't have to say this, didn't have to admit that indeed Wooyoung was her favorite. But he needed to end this friendly debate, so in a dramatic tone he stated, "Alright, you got me. Wooyoung... you are indeed Nari's favorite." A collective gasp filled the room followed by Wooyoung's triumphant laughter.
Wooyoung's laughter echoed through the room, his chest puffing out with pride. "I knew it!" he exclaimed, pumping a fist in the air. The other members rolled their eyes at his display, but their smiles betrayed their amusement.
The atmosphere in the room had lightened considerably. What started as a serious and nerve-wracking discussion had somehow turned into a friendly competition. Jongho couldn't help but feel grateful. His brothers, his family, had not only accepted his news but were also excited to be a part of his daughter's life.
San, still grinning at Wooyoung's antics, turned to Jongho. "We're really happy for you, Jongho." His words were sincere, his gaze soft. "And we can't wait to be the best uncles Nari could ask for."
Mingi nodded in agreement, a smile spreading across his face. "We'll be here for you, every step of the way."
Jongho felt a lump form in his throat, his heart swelling with gratitude. He never doubted his friends' loyalty, but hearing their reaffirmations was comforting. It reassured him that he wasn't facing this journey alone.
"Thank you, everyone," Jongho said, his voice choked with emotion. "I'm really lucky to have you all." The warmth in their eyes was all the confirmation he needed. He was surrounded by his family, ready to face the challenges of fatherhood together.
"Do you think we will be able to properly meet her soon?" Seonghwa asked, his gaze filled with anticipation.
Jongho nodded, a hopeful expression on his face. "I've been talking to Y/N about it, and she agrees that it would be good for Nari to get to know all of you. We just need to figure out the right time and place." The members nodded, understanding that this was a big step and one that needed to be handled with care and consideration. They all agreed to be patient and wait for Jongho to make the arrangements, knowing that this was a sensitive matter.
The atmosphere in the room was filled with understanding and support, but Seonghwa finally voiced the question that had been lingering in the back of his mind. His tone was gentle, not wanting to intrude on Jongho's privacy, but curiosity and concern for their friend prevailed. "Jongho," he began, his gaze steady and kind, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but... why didn't things work out between you and Y/N?" Everyone in the room turned their eyes towards Jongho, waiting patiently for his response. It was not a question asked out of idle curiosity, but rather one rooted in genuine concern for their friend's well-being.
Jongho took a moment to collect his thoughts, appreciating the gentle way Seonghwa posed the question. His gaze fell to his hands, fingers lightly drumming on the tabletop as he sought the right words to convey the complicated history that existed between him and you. "I met Y/N before our debut and… well, you can imagine how that was," Jongho began, his voice trailing off as he lowered his gaze to look at his hands. Speaking about it was more difficult than he had anticipated. He had spent countless nights pondering over whether he should've allowed himself to get so close to you, especially right before ATEEZ's debut. He knew he had risked not just his career, but also the harmony within the group. However, he also understood that honesty was crucial. If the boys knew about Nari, they should also know about his past relationship with you.
Mingi broke the thoughtful silence that had settled over the room, drawing everyone's attention to him. "So, the infamous dating ban?" he asked, his voice echoing softly in the quiet space.
"Yes, the dating ban," Jongho confirmed. There was a trace of melancholy in his voice, his lips curling into a sad smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Wooyoung let out an exaggerated sigh. "Dating ban was such bullshit," he complained. Jongho chuckled at Wooyoung's dramatic sigh. He found a sense of solidarity in Wooyoung's words and nodded in agreement, his response a silent testament to their shared sentiments.
"Well, if there's anyone here who should be talking, it's definitely you," San interjected, causing Wooyoung to furrow his brows in confusion, not quite grasping the implication of his words. Without skipping a beat, San continued, "I mean, I believe we all remember that you had a boyfriend back then. It's not exactly a secret, is it?"
Wooyoung's eyes widened, a look of surprise flashing across his face. He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. He glanced at Yeosang, who was trying to suppress a grin, and then at Mingi, who simply shrugged, a knowing smile on his face.
"Wait, you knew about that?" Wooyoung asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
"Of course, we did," Yunho replied matter-of-factly. "You weren't exactly subtle, Wooyoung."
"Yeah," Jongho added, his grin widening. "Your secret rendezvous weren't as secret as you thought."
Wooyoung groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I can't believe you guys knew all along and didn't say anything."
"Well," San said, trying to suppress his laughter. "It wasn't our place to say anything. And besides, it was kind of fun watching you think you were getting away with it."
Just as Wooyoung was gathering his thoughts, preparing to open his mouth to speak, Yeosang, with a sly grin on his face, suddenly interjected. He smoothly diverted the conversation to a memorable event, saying, "I remember this one time when we were recording the music video for Deja Vu." Yeosang continued, his tone teasing, "You came to set sporting this huge hickey, it was impossible to miss." He laughed and added, "You really thought you had fooled us when you blamed it on the stylist, claiming that you were accidentally burned by a hair curler, didn't you?"
Wooyoung's face flushed a deep red as he stammered, trying to find a way to defend himself. "I... I mean... it... it was a believable excuse, wasn't it?" He blurted out, his voice wavering slightly. The room erupted in laughter, each member clutching their stomachs as they bent over in mirth. The memory of Wooyoung's failed attempt at deception amplified the hilarity of the situation, and even Wooyoung himself couldn't help but join in the laughter.
Mingi decided it was time to share his piece of information. "Well…" he began, drawing out the word to create a sense of suspense among his friends. After a dramatic pause, he continued, "Wooyoung wasn't the only one in a relationship."
As these words left his lips, all eyes in the room turned to him, their attention now fully captivated. After enjoying a moment of being the center of attention, Mingi finally added the crucial piece of information. "Yunho was dating too," he revealed, his voice echoing in the sudden silence that followed.
The room fell silent for a moment, all eyes turning towards Yunho. The surprise on their faces was comical, but the atmosphere was far from tense. There was no judgement in their gazes, just a mild shock and a lot of curiosity. Yunho simply shrugged, a small, sheepish smile spreading across his face. "Yeah," he admitted, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "I was seeing someone back then too."
The announcement was met with a range of reactions. San whistled, a playful smirk on his face. Seonghwa, on the other hand, let out a light chuckle. "I knew it," he said, pointing a finger at Yunho. "I could tell there was someone on your mind."
"So, the girl with pink hair, right?" Yeosang asked, a wide grin spreading across his face. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, his eyes dancing with amusement. His gaze was fixed on Yunho, who was visibly taken aback by the sudden inquiry. "The one who was our assistant when we were shooting Kingdom?" He continued, the question lingering in the air, adding an element of suspense to the conversation. Yunho shifted uncomfortably in his seat, the unexpected spotlight making him squirm. He scratched the back of his head, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips as his eyes darted around the room, meeting the curious gazes of his bandmates. From the corner of his eye, he could see Jongho trying to suppress a grin, clearly enjoying the sudden turn of events. Yeosang leaned back in his seat, the satisfied smirk on his face signifying his victory.
"How did you... know?" Yunho asked, his eyes wide with surprise. His voice echoed softly amidst the silence that had fallen upon the room.
San, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth, turned his attention to Yeosang, who was enjoying his moment in the spotlight. "It seems like Yeosang knows everything," he voiced out, a note of amusement in his tone. His words hung in the air, drawing a round of chuckles from the other members.
Yeosang, a smirk tugging at his lips, leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. His eyes sparkled with amusement as he met San's gaze, clearly enjoying the unexpected attention. His laughter filled the room, a sound that was contagious, causing the other members to join in. His response to San's comment was delayed as he tried to control his laughter, the sound echoing off the walls of the room. Once the laughter died down, Yeosang finally addressed San's statement. Still chuckling, he nodded in agreement, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, someone has to keep tabs on you guys," he retorted, earning a round of laughter from the others. "But to answer your question," Yeosang began, his smile broadening as he turned his gaze towards Yunho. There was a playful twinkle in his eyes that prompted a round of chuckles from the other members. "I just have a good eye for detail," Yeosang responded with a shrug, a smug grin on his face. "It was pretty obvious with the way she looked at you, Yunho." He concluded, causing Yunho to blush at the accurate observation. "And let's not forget those late-night 'phone calls' you used to have," Yeosang added with a wry grin, air-quoting around the words 'phone calls'. "I mean, I didn't know phone conversations could get so... intense." His words, filled with playful insinuation, caused another wave of laughter to ripple through the room. "And let's not forget the mysterious 'noise' that came from your room during those late-night 'phone calls'," Yeosang added, a teasing glint in his eyes. "I mean, I didn't know phone conversations could get so... loud." He concluded, causing another round of laughter to fill the room.
"Alright, alright, that's enough," Yunho finally managed to say, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I get it, I wasn't as sneaky as I thought I was."
"I guess the Dating Ban was bullshit for all of us," Wooyoung quipped, earning a round of laughter from the others.
In a moment of sudden revelation, Hongjoong, with a hint of disbelief in his voice, asked the room, "Was I really the only one not involved in dating?"
Nonchalantly, Seonghwa, with a teasing glint in his eyes, responded in a humorous tone, "Well, you were sort of dating... you were totally absorbed in your work." Hongjoong's question was met with a round of laughter, Seonghwa's quick wit lightening the mood even further.
"That's true," Hongjoong admitted with a chuckle, "I was indeed dating my work back then."
"Wait a minute," Yeosang interjected, an intrigued look on his face as he turned towards Hongjoong. "Weren't you seeing this one guy from Balmain? You know that guy with really cool tattoos? I remember you mentioning something about him right around the time they were considering lifting the dating ban." The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at Hongjoong, their eyebrows raised in surprise and curiosity. Caught off guard by Yeosang's unexpected revelation, Hongjoong found himself at a loss for words. "I mean... it was... what I'm trying to say is," he stuttered, pausing as he tried to gather his thoughts. "It was way later than the others…" he finally managed to say, the admission hanging in the air amidst a room full of intrigued pairs of eyes.
Before he could recover, Mingi, who had been quietly observing the exchange, suddenly burst out, "Wait, hold on a second! Was Hongjoong the reason they decided to lift the ban?" He pointed at Hongjoong accusingly, his eyes wide with disbelief and shock. Hongjoong spluttered, his face flushing a bright red as he scrambled to deny Mingi's claim. The room erupted in laughter at his flustered reaction, the seriousness of their earlier conversation forgotten.
"No, no, that's not how it was at all!" Hongjoong exclaimed, his eyes wide as he tried to explain himself. He paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts before continuing. "I had absolutely no idea that the company was even considering lifting the dating ban when I started seeing him. It was all just a coincidence, nothing more." Hongjoong looked around the room, his gaze meeting each of his bandmates in turn, hoping they would believe him.
Despite the surprise that had initially taken over them, the members of the group couldn't help but join in the laughter at Hongjoong's flustered state. A tinge of amusement was evident in their eyes. San, with a grin spreading cheekily across his face, chimed in, "Alright, Hongjoong," His tone was teasing but friendly. "We believe you...for now."
Wooyoung, still unable to completely stifle his chuckles, moved towards Hongjoong. With a comforting pat on Hongjoong's back, he tried to reassure him. "Don't worry, captain," he said, his grin never leaving his face as he looked at Hongjoong, "Your secret is safe with us." His words, filled with sincerity and a promise of trust, hung in the air, solidifying the bond among them.
"Let's just get one thing straight, Hongjoong," Jongho began, his voice carrying a serious undertone that instantly caught everyone's attention. His gaze was steady, his eyes reflecting the confusion and a hint of resentment that had been brewing inside him. He wished he didn't have to disrupt the light-hearted mood that had settled in, but he found himself compelled to voice the question that had been nagging at him for far too long. The room fell silent. The laughter that had been resonating just moments ago seemed to have evaporated, replaced by an air of anticipation. All eyes were now on Jongho, waiting for him to continue. He took a deep breath, preparing himself to voice out the question that had been weighing on his heart. "If we were all, at some point or another, involved in dating despite the ban..." he said, his voice steady despite the serious topic. His gaze never left Hongjoong, seeking answers in the leader's reactions. He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts before he continued. "Why was it me who had to give up on Y/N? Why did you force me to break up with her?" The question hung in the air, raw and potent. It was a question that dug deep, unearthing a past that Jongho had tried to bury. A past filled with regret, heartache and unspoken words. The question was met with silence, the members exchanging glances, each lost in their own thoughts and recollections. Hongjoong looked taken aback, clearly not expecting Jongho's question. He opened his mouth but closed it again, seemingly struggling to find the right words. The silence that followed was deafening, all eyes now turned towards Hongjoong who sat quietly, his gaze steady on Jongho.
"Jongho," he finally started, his voice steady and calm. "Our situation back then, it was... it was different." He paused, carefully choosing his words. "We were only rookies. The risk was too great. It wasn't just about you, or me, or any of us individually. It was about ATEEZ." His words filled the room, silencing any potential objections. He looked around at his bandmates, his gaze lingering on each of them as he continued. "We all made sacrifices. We all had to give up something, or someone, for the sake of our dreams. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary." The room was silent as Hongjoong's words sunk in. Each member was lost in their own thoughts, reflecting on the sacrifices they had made and the choices they had to live with. "I know it was hard," Hongjoong added, his gaze returning to Jongho. "And I'm sorry you had to go through that. But we made it, didn't we? We're here because of the choices we made, the sacrifices we made. And I believe it was worth it." Jongho remained silent, his gaze fixed on Hongjoong. He understood where Hongjoong was coming from, and he knew that the decisions made back then had shaped them into who they were today. But that didn't make the pain of losing you any less real, any less raw. The laughter and friendly banter that had filled the room just moments ago seemed like a distant memory now. All eyes were on Hongjoong, each member taking in his words and the weight they carried. "I know that I am partially to blame for your absence in your daughter's life," Hongjoong continued, his voice laced with a palpable regret that filled the silent room. "I realize now that my actions and decisions back then have had a profound impact, not only on you, Jongho, but also on a little girl who deserved to have her father by her side. For that, I am truly sorry." Hongjoong cleared his throat before continuing, "If I ever hurt any of you with my actions or decisions, I am so sorry," his voice filled with raw emotion as he looked around the room, "As a leader, I'm the one responsible and I wanted nothing more than for all eight of us to be successful." His voice trembled, and he was on the verge of tears. And then, in a voice barely above a whisper, he made a confession that hung heavy in the room. "I... I gave up on someone too." His confession was met with silence, a solemn moment of understanding passing through the room. Hongjoong continued, his voice barely above a whisper, the attention of the boys fixated on him in the quiet room. "She's married now. She found someone who makes her happy, someone who was there when I couldn't be. I genuinely am happy for her," he paused, his gaze falling on his hands as he battled with the emotions welling up inside him. "But sometimes I find myself thinking 'what if.' What if circumstances had been different? What if I had made different choices?" His voice trailed off, leaving the unsaid words hanging in the tension-filled room. Each member was lost in their own thoughts, reflecting on the sacrifices they had made and the choices they had to live with.
"Hongjoong, I don't blame you," Jongho interrupted, his voice firm yet gentle. His heart ached for his friends who were shouldering an immense burden of guilt. "We both didn't know Y/N was pregnant," he continued, his gaze softening as he tried to reassure Hongjoong. "We were all in the dark about her pregnancy. None of us could have predicted what was to come." The room fell into a contemplative silence as Jongho's words echoed, a reminder of the unforeseen circumstances that had led them to this point. "And while it's true that I missed out on some moments in Nari's life," Jongho added, his voice steady with conviction, "I'm here now. And I'm ready to make up for lost time. We all are." His words were filled with resolve, a promise to do right by his daughter.
Hongjoong nodded, acknowledging Jongho's words. "We're with you, Jongho," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "We'll support you and Nari every step of the way."
"And if anyone tries to mess with our niece," San added, a fierce determination in his voice, "they'll have to deal with all of us." His words were met with nods of agreement from the other members, their faces reflecting their shared resolve.
"And Jongho," Hongjoong began, his voice heavy with the weight of his words, his gaze locked onto Jongho's with an intensity that demanded his undivided attention. "We all made sacrifices. Each of us, at one point or another, had to let go of someone we deeply cared for, someone we loved." He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in, their echoes filling the room with a solemn silence. "Considering all the sacrifices we made, for the sake of our dreams and for the sake of ATEEZ," he continued, his voice steady despite the heavy topic, "you owe it not just to yourself, but to all of us, to fight for Y/N." His words were punctuated by a determined nod, an unspoken pledge of support hanging in the air between them. "You have to muster the courage within you, fight against the odds and fight for your love. You have to fight for the chance to be with Y/N, to be a father to Nari, to build the family that you clearly want." He concluded, his gaze softening as he offered Jongho a reassuring smile. "Because at the end of the day," Hongjoong said, his voice softer now, "love is a battle worth fighting for. And I want all of you guys to know," Hongjoong voice carried a seriousness that instantly drew the attention of his bandmates. "That even though our personal lives are evolving, we still need to stay focused on our work. We've been doing such an incredible job, and I couldn't be prouder of each and every one of us." He paused, allowing his words to resonate in the silent room. Hongjoong continued, "But moving forward, let's make a pact to be honest with each other. Let's not hide our feelings or our relationships out of fear." His gaze swept across the room, meeting the eyes of his friends who listened attentively to his words. "We shouldn't be scared of a scandal or of what others might think. We should remember that love is what makes us human." He took a deep breath, the weight of his next words hanging heavy in the air. "So, for the love of God, guys, let love in. Embrace it. And most importantly, talk to us about it." Hongjoong concluded, his voice filled with sincerity and a hint of urgency. "We're a family, and there should be no secrets between us. Let's support each other in all aspects of our lives, personal or professional."
Mingi, who had been quiet for a while, cleared his throat, drawing the attention of his bandmates. There was an air of anticipation as they turned to face him, the room falling silent as he prepared to speak. With a small, nervous smile on his face, he looked around at his friends and admitted, "Actually, I'm... I'm seeing someone now." The eyes of his bandmates widened in surprise; their gazes fixated on Mingi. His words hung in the air, creating a moment of stunned silence. "It's still really fresh," Mingi continued, his voice filled with a mix of nervousness and excitement. "But I really wanted to tell you." He took a deep breath, steadying himself before continuing. "I'm... I'm dating a guy." His confession, delivered in a soft voice, echoed in the silence. The room remained quiet for a while as his words sunk in, each member processing the revelation. The atmosphere was one of uncertainty, as Mingi waited for someone to break the silence. Then, slowly, smiles began to form on the faces of his bandmates. Nods of understanding and acceptance started filling the room, each member expressing their support for Mingi in their own way.
Wooyoung was the first to react, his surprise quickly turning into a wide grin. "That's great, Mingi!" He exclaimed, his enthusiasm breaking the silence.
San followed, a soft smile on his face as he nodded at Mingi in agreement, "We're happy for you," The atmosphere in the room had shifted from shock to acceptance, and soon enough, it was filled with a renewed sense of brotherhood. The bond they shared as a group was stronger than ever. They were not just bandmates; they were a family. And in a family, love and acceptance were all that mattered.
In the aftermath of Mingi's revelation, Hongjoong directed a playful question towards the group. "So Jongho is a father, Mingi is a taken man... Is there anything else you guys are hiding?" His tone was light, but there was a hint of curiosity in his eyes as he scanned the room.
Seonghwa, with a broad grin on his face, let out a chuckle that echoed through the room, breaking the silence that had momentarily settled. "Well, we all are uncles now, that's a new one," he remarked, his words drawing a round of laughter from the others. The thought of being 'uncles' was still a novelty to them, a new role they were more than willing to embrace. After the laughter had subsided, Seonghwa added another revelation, his tone teasing. "And Yeosang might just be a part-time detective," he said, earning a surprised look from Yeosang and another round of laughter from the group. "With the way he's been figuring out everyone's secrets, he might as well consider it as a second career." His comment was met with nods of agreement, each member recalling Yeosang's uncanny ability to notice the smallest of details.
"And we can’t forget San's newfound addiction," Wooyoung chimed in, a playful look on his face. "Protein shakes, protein bars, protein everything!" His comment drew laughter from the group. San responded with a playful smack on Wooyoung's arm, his face flushing with embarrassment but a grin on his face.
"Hey, it's not an addiction, it's a lifestyle," San retorted, trying to defend himself amidst the peals of laughter. His attempt to justify himself only made his friends laugh harder.
"Guys let's also not forget one of the most entertaining aspects of our group dynamics," Mingi chimed in, a playful glint in his eyes. He paused for dramatic effect, causing the room to fall into a moment of anticipatory silence. Then, with a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth, he finally revealed his thoughts. "If only San was gay, Wooyoung would have already married him by now!" His words, delivered with impeccable timing, caused an eruption of laughter to fill the room. The members doubled over, clutching their stomachs as they laughed.
Wooyoung, upon hearing Mingi's teasing comment, was left speechless for a moment. He then burst into hearty laughter, his face flushing a deep shade of red, but there was a twinkle in his eyes that revealed his amusement. He managed to retort between bouts of laughter, "Well, if San would have me, I wouldn't say no!" His comment added to the hilarity, earning another round of laughter from the group.
After the laughter had died down, San, still grinning from Wooyoung's retort, chimed in. "Well, I guess we'll have to see about that," he said, winking at Wooyoung. His comment elicited another round of laughter. Then, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, Wooyoung made a kissy face at San, causing the room to burst into another round of laughter. San responded with a playful roll of his eyes.
"But let's not forget," Yeosang added, his eyes glinting with amusement, "Mingi is saying all this as if he wouldn't risk it all for Yunho." His statement, filled with playful insinuation, hung in the air, causing another round of laughter to ripple through the room.
Yunho, who had remained quiet for a while, finally chimed in with a chuckle. "Well, I guess we all have our secret crushes... or not-so-secret, in some cases." His comment, accompanied by a teasing look towards Mingi, added another wave of laughter to the room.
"Thank you guys so much," Jongho started, his voice carrying a heartfelt note in the room filled with his bandmates. "I know that this is the beginning of something new for me. Things are going to change, my life will definitely take a significant turn." He paused for a moment, his words hanging in the air as he collected his thoughts. "But to know that I have the support of my bandmates, my brothers," he continued, his voice stronger now. "It means more than I can express. It gives me strength and confidence to face the challenges that lie ahead. To know that I'm not alone in this journey, that I have you guys standing by my side, it means the world to me."
"Eight make one, right?" Mingi smiled at Jongho, his words echoing the sentiment they all held close in their hearts.
"That's the spirit!" Yeosang chimed in, his smile matching the warmth in his voice. "We're a team, a family. We've been through a lot together and we'll continue to face whatever comes our way, together." The room was filled with nods of agreement and smiles around. The atmosphere was light, yet filled with a profound sense of unity and resolve. They were more than just a band – they were a family, bound not just by their shared dreams and experiences, but by the love and respect they held for each other.
"Let's continue to work hard, for ourselves, for ATEEZ, and for ATINY," Wooyoung voiced out, his tone determined yet filled with heartfelt sincerity. His words were met with a chorus of agreement, each member expressing their shared commitment to their dreams and to their fans.
"We've come a long way, haven't we?" San mused, a nostalgic smile tugging at his lips. His words prompted a round of nods, each member reminiscing about their journey – the struggles they had faced, the victories they had celebrated, and the countless memories they had created together.
"And we still have a long way to go," Hongjoong added, his voice ringing with determination. His words were met with nods of agreement, the resolve in his voice reflecting in the eyes of his bandmates.
"But as long as we have each other, we can face anything," Yunho concluded, his gaze meeting each of his bandmates in turn. His words, filled with conviction and unwavering faith, hung in the air, solidifying the bond among them.
"I hate to say it but could we maybe... do a group hug?" Jongho suggested his voice barely above a whisper. He hadn't even finished his sentence when Wooyoung, unable to contain his excitement, was already all over him, pulling him into a tight embrace. The others quickly joined in, forming a tight huddle around Jongho, their laughter and chatter filling the room.
In the comfort of the group hug, each member felt a sense of relief and unity. They were there for each other, through thick and thin, a testament to their unbreakable bond.
"Eight makes one team!" Hongjoong shouted, his voice echoing in the room. The rest of the members joined in, their voices blending into a chorus that filled the room with a sense of unity.

Tumblr media
True to William Afton's word, you were placed on office duty for at least a week before you could return to normal work. Henry had even drive you to the local pharmacy after work and loaded your bike up onto the back of his car, buying you a soft wrist compress and some painkillers despite your protests and insisting that you would be being driven to and from work by either him or William for the duration of your 'light duties'. There were no ifs or buts allowed from either of them, Henry once caught you trying to walk to work and you had spent an hour in his office listening to him lecture you on why it was such a bad idea. You could have sworn that he nearly cried several times during it.
You had decided to try your luck walking in again today, knowing that the pair would be looking for your Freddy's uniform and your bike, you decided to place a thin jacket over the top to mask it, hair tied up and a hoodie beneath the jacket, hood pulled up as if you weren't sweating in the heat. Twirling your wrist back and forth as you tried to avoid it locking up with the compressive bandage on, you were lost in your own thoughts as you walked. It was sufficiently early in the morning that you were sure that neither of them would spot you even if they happened to be driving out.
Suddenly you heard a voice calling your name, and of course like a fool you stopped and turned your head. Spotting a car that you hadn't heard cruise up besides you and come to stop, blinking as you took in the black colour muscle car that you probably didn't know much about if your life depended on it before your eyes fell onto the owner who had climbed out of the door. Paling as you watched William Afton lean against the door with his arms crossed across his chest.
"M-Mr. Afton, you look...nice..this morning." You complimented, which he truly did, although it wasn't his usual colours that he wore to work. Still wearing his black slacks, he wore a Spring Bonnie shade of yellow shirt, the sleeves rolled up and a purple tie on. Pushing his glasses up his nose, he scowled although you could see some amusement in his eyes.
"That shit works on Henry, not me. So, it's a little early for a walk isn't it?" He almost growled your name at the end, making you feel slightly weak at the knees and your stomach sink as you began to realise how much trouble you were about to be in with the taller, older man. Opening your mouth as if to speak before he raised a large hand, finger up to shush you.
"Get in the fucking car, don't make me chase you cause I will assure you, you will get your cardio for the month in if that's the case." Staring into your soul, scuffing your shoes on the pavement as you reluctantly moved to the passenger side, William turned to watch you, your fingers on the door handle before you looked back at him, offering him a sheepish smile.
"Don't you mean get in the faz-fucking car, sir?" You could see his lips quirk at the corners and the joke clearly hit somewhere to make him amused, but he remained otherwise serious as he began to stride round to your side, brushing against your back as he opened the door for you and gestured for you to get in.
"No, I mean get in the fucking car young lady, I'm already thinking on how to punish you for making me do this shit." The thought of him punishing you made you shiver and blush, realising that you imagined his large calloused hands on you for a brief moment and feeling incredibly embarrassed. Not that you hadn't been thinking about the glimpse of him shirtless that you had gotten a few days before.
He climbed into his side with a practised ease, cracking his neck slightly and sighing as he put the car into gear, pulling off and heading towards Freddy's. You sunk into your seat as you heard him mutter to himself.
"Henry is not going to let me live this one down." Sounding slightly bitter about it, you raised and eyebrow and looked at him quizzically.
"What is Mr. Emily not going to let you live down?"
"He... I told him you were probably going to try some shit like this this morning, and he told me to lighten up, that you wouldn't after the lecture he gave you about being safe." He groaned, one hand on his thigh and the other on the steering wheel as his eyes darted about the roads, purposely avoiding yours. "He's going to call it my fucking 'dad sense' or some shit and call me old."
"Well sir, you are like...five years older than me?" You guessed, being a bit generous to try and win him over a bit more, causing the man to snort and look at you, pointing at his greying temples with his free hand.
"Does this look like five years to you? If so, wow your future is looking bleak. More like ten and even that is depressing enough." William sighed, running a hand through his hair and concentrating on the roads again. Cranking up the radio so that the rest of your drive would be in silence.
Arriving at Freddy's, William got out first and opened your door for you, hovering a few steps behind as he escorted you into the building where it seemed eerily quiet. You were there a lot earlier than usual and most of the staff hadn't arrived yet for morning duties. But walking through the empty halls with William, you didn't feel unsafe or uneasy doing so. Though you felt your stomach twisting into knots as you approached the offices together, knowing that Henry would be disappointed in you before you even saw his face, you tried to remain positive that whatever the two of them could come up with for the day couldn't be that bad.
"Morning Mr. Emily." You chirped, making the man sat at his desk smile as William unlocked his office behind you. Watching him run a hand through his curly hair and leaning back, eyes bright as always despite the early start.
"Morning miss..." Your name trailed off as he looked at you, suddenly squinting before his eyes widened, conflicted between a frown and a smile as he looked between you and William.
"Don't say it Henry." William warned, not needing to turn around to know what was about to be said by his business partner. Although you watched Henry almost bouncing excitedly at his desk.
"You totally used your dad sense! God you're so old William." He teased, making the taller man sigh and tip his head back in frustration.
"Henry, you're older than me." He retorted, opening his office door finally and stepping inside, flicking on the lights and scowling slightly as he rubbed at his face, disturbing his glasses and messing with his hair again before he ran his fingers through it and fixed it again.
"So, you're still a dad!" Making William sigh in annoyance as he looked at you, almost pleading for the happiness of his friend to dispel for just one moment to give him peace. Raising an eyebrow and gesturing to you to step into his office, your name sounding too pretty from him as he spoke again.
"You can spend the day with me sweetheart, I figure being bored to death by the more technical side of this job might be a better punishment than a lecture." Afton shrugged, making you look between the excitedly bouncing Henry and the calmer of the pair, and quietly choosing to be in for a chance of peace rather than seeing Henry tear up again as he lectured you again like you were his daughter.
"See you later Mr. Emily." You smiled, waving to him and stepping into William's office and hearing the door close behind you, William stepping around you with his fingers brushing your back to let you know where he was whilst he moved.
Compared to the explosion of children's drawings, family photos and colour that made up Henry Emily's office, William Afton's was much more organised in its own chaotic fashion. The main wall had a large pin board hung up on it, with neatly organised and spaced mechanical and electric diagrams for various animatronics and projects pinned up on seemingly colour coded pins that only he knew the order of. Two photo frames hung up too, one with William and a young blonde girl in a tiny turtleneck and cardigan, holding a toy Spring-Bonnie, the edge of the photo clearly cut as a mystery hand floated on the girl's shoulder, opposite to William. The other was a slightly younger Afton and Henry, arms wrapped around each other's shoulders and each holding the head of their animatronic suit under their arms, you could vaguely make out a building that said 'Fredbear's Family Diner' in the background.
The rest was fairly standard, except for the pile of animatronic parts and tools that laid scattered amongst the paperwork on his desk, all dark colours, including curiously a couch that was pushed up against one wall. The leather cracked and worn, a pillow set up on one of the arms and a faded blanket folded neatly over the back.
'Does he sleep in his office?' You thought as you looked at it, brow furrowing before you took a seat opposite Afton, trying to see what he was up to even if you didn't understand.
"So, you're a dad Mr. Afton?" You asked, breaking the silence and hearing a 'hmm' coming from the man before he looked up, brow furrowed in concentration and clearly having not heard your question. You gestured to the picture on the wall with the girl, smiling softly as you looked between it and him.
"Oh, yes! That's my little girl, Vanessa." He said, a bit of pride creeping into his voice as you noticed his left thumb moving against his ring finger, a lump forming in your throat as you noticed the glint of a gold wedding band on the finger. Of course he was married, what woman wouldn't want to marry somebody like him? Business owner, good looking, good with kids.
"She looks adorable." You commented, tearing your eyes away from his hand back to the picture, trying to spot which of his features she might have inherited.
"Yeah, probably haven't been the best dad to her but I try." Glancing back down at his paperwork and clearing his throat, he wondered why he opened up to you so easily. But he supposed he knew somewhat where he stood with you, you were easily flustered by him but you had genuine care about him and Henry it seemed. His thumb continued to twirl the ring on his finger absently, eyes unfocused as he wondered if he should mention his soon-to-be-ex wife to you, but decided against it.
William looked up at you again and offered a warm smile, adjusting his glasses on his nose before running a large hand through his hair again. Something he often did when he was somewhat nervous, although he wasn't entirely sure why he felt that way around you. Taking a moment when you looked away from him again to admire the way your eyes looked, their rich vibrant colour, the way your eyelashes fluttered as you breathed slowly and deeply. He swore at himself internally as he swallowed, his throat suddenly feeling dry as he realised what he was thinking about you.
"Oh, before I forget, I collected these for you to look through." He chuckled, snapping him and you out of the reverie each of you had fallen into, opening a desk drawer and pulling out a stack of papers, some crinkled around the edges and messy, making you raise an eyebrow as you gingerly took them, pausing as you saw your name written in childish crayon on the top one.
Your fingers brushed the crayon markings like they were some ancient script that you had to be careful with. Flicking onto the next one, and the one after, your heart melted as you spotted a pattern to them.
'The day --- saved Spring Bonnie'
'--- Helping Spring Bonnie!'
'--- and Spring Bonnie'
The childish spellings and writing made your name incredibly hard to read on most of them, but you felt your eyes welling up as you carefully leafed through each sheet of paper and spent time looking at childish drawings of you and Spring Bonnie holding hands, or trying to help him up. There weren't many in the pile, but enough to make your lip quiver and your eyes feel hot and prickle with tears.
"I've got some too, children keep giving them to Henry or me and asking if we know Spring Bonnie or you and can we 'please give them to them?'. I thought you might like to know that you and Spring Bonnie are officially considered the best of friends by the kids." He smiled warmly as he noticed how you stared at the drawings with such emotion. William felt his fingers twitching as he wanted to reach out and comfort you, but he remained professional as he didn't know how you would feel about that.
"Thank you sir, this is-"
"William, you can call me William when we're alone." He interrupted, smiling lopsidedly as you glanced up at him, your cheeks burning up slightly as he gave you that sweet, warm smile that made the edges of his eyes crinkle slightly and of course, the idea that you could address him so informally made the butterflies reappear in your stomach.
"Then thank you, William, may I keep one?" You asked, taking care to say his name rather than addressing him as your boss. His smile grew a little as he heard you saying his name for the first time, his own chest tightening at the sound and he nodded his head, gesturing to the stack in your hands.
"Please, take as many as you want sweetheart. I'll grab us some coffee whilst we work."
Standing from his desk, he towered over you, his hand hovering near to your still lightly bruised shoulder before he thought better of it, heading for the door and turning the handle, pulling it so that it would open.
But it didn't.
Trying again, the door rattled and shook, but refused to budge. Frowning, William braced himself with his other hand against the frame and yanked, worried about breaking the door but no matter what he tried to do it to it, it wasn't budging. Eyes widening as he realised that you were trapped together, pressing his ear to the door and listening hard, he could faintly hear the sounds of the pizzeria filling with screaming kids and music already.
"Well....Fuck." He sighed.
~~
Both of you had tried the door for twenty minutes before William picked up the phone and pressed it to his ear, dialling quickly and hearing the thing ring a few times before a familiar voice answered him in it's usual cheery tone.
"'Yello?"
"Henry! Thank fuck, me and -"
"William, what have we said about swearing on property?" Henry chuckled as he stood in the end of the employee hallway, listening to the phone call and making sure to keep quiet enough so that William wouldn't suspect where he was, glancing out into the dining room.
"Faz-fuck that, you stupid bonnie-bitch! Me and," he said your name in the angriest tone you had ever heard on him, and even though you knew it wasn't directed at you, it made your stomach turn and body shake with anxiety at what was about to happen. "are trapped in my office, the door's stuck! Come fucking help us, or I swear to god Emily, I will force you into one of the working animatronics."
Henry couldn't help but grin at William's threats, knowing that he was really pissed if he was calling him by his last name, but Henry also knew that nothing was really meant by it. Looking out into the hall, he could see everything was running smoothly and that the staff were handling it all well despite being one down for the day.
"I'll be right there Afton, I'm just sorting something out and I'll be there in a moment." Feigning concern as he hung up on the larger man, straightening his tie and clipping his phone to his belt, turning it off so it wouldn't ring again as he headed back out into the diner, greeting parents and kids with vigour as he went.
William slammed the phone down and groaned, taking his glasses off and rubbing his face with his hands, elbows on his desk as you tried not to panic at the idea of being trapped in such a small space for potnetially the rest of the day. Your leg bouncing and heel tapping the floor as you brought your fingers to your mouth, ready to bite at your nails as you avoided looking at the handsome man opposite you. Seeing him with his hair messed up made you want to run your fingers through it and return it to normal for him, but you knew he was a married man and that you couldn't do such a thing to him.
"Good job we have a bathroom and a mini-fridge in here." He laughed, somewhat bitterly as he knew Henry would find some distraction that meant he wasn't going to be there as soon as they both wanted.
You felt your eyes prickling again, and your hands trembled as you realised that you were stuck. Sniffling lightly and trying to hide your concern and fear from William as you sat in the uncomfortable chair opposite him. The large man noticed however and he looked up, frowning as he heard the sound and feeling his heart melting as he noticed you trying not to cry infront of him. Standing up, he made his way around his desk and crouched infront of you, wincing slightly as his knees popped lightly at the movement but turning your chair so that you could see him and he could see your bowed head properly.
"Hey hey! Sweetheart, bunny, why are you crying? Is being in the same room as me for a while really that awful?" He teased slightly, trying to get you to smile, you choked out a laugh as you wiped at your eyes, trying to get them to stop watering.
"N-No, it's your terrible sense of humour I'm worried about." You giggled, trying to be funny and seeing William chuckle at your attempt. He looked strange without his glasses, but decidedly still very handsome as he grinned up at you before pretending to be hurt, placing his hand over his heart and making a shocked mock expression.
"Well, I promise not to ask for your ID whilst we're together if that makes you feel better?" Making you laugh more and nod, he felt his heart hammering as he realised how vulnerable you looked, how fragile and breakable compared to himself and it made him ache to comfort you even more.
"Can I touch you sweetheart?" He asked, hands hovering as he waited before you nodded slowly, wondering what he was going to do. Carefully, he placed his hands on your ribs under your arms, picking you up as he stood and your arms instinctually wrapping around his neck, legs hanging over his hips as he carried you. It was only a few paces to the couch in the corner, but those moments together set your heart into overtime and you couldn't help but get a smell of his cologne. Something earthy and spicy, and the faint scent of motor oil and sweat like it was engrained into his skin.
Almost whimpering as he had placed you down on the couch, grabbing the blanket from off of the back of the couch and wrapping it around your shoulders gently. Wandering off and dragging over an old TV on a wheeled stand, placing a tape into the VCR player and wandering off again, bringing back two sodas as the screen flickered to life and quietly began playing a cartoon of Freddy and friends, happy bouncy music clearly made for kids in the background.
Sitting besides you, Afton offered you a soda and helped crack it open for you, making you mumble thanks as you sipped at it, the high sugar soothing your nerves although it didn't stop your mind thinking about how his large hands hand felt against you.
"I figured we might as well watch something whilst we wait, things like this used to help me when I had panic attacks." He explained in a low soft voice, making you look up at him curiously, not sure you could see the giant man who was always so refined and poised with most people having panic attacks. But he grabbed the pillow and laid it across his lap, avoiding your eyes as you swore you saw a little blush on his cheeks in the flickering colourful lights. "You can lay down if you want, you can still say no, I'm not acting as your boss at the moment." Giving you a reassuring smile before he turned back to the screen.
Both of you playing the waiting game and thinking of the other without a word more between you.
~~
Henry finally managed to pry the door open, the pizzeria finally closed down and allowing him to escape back to the offices. The noise startling William awake slightly, although the weight on his lap made sure he didn't move too much. Henry grinned widely as he saw the scene before him, your head on Afton's lap and William's fingers tangled into your hair as if he had fallen asleep soothing you. He couldn't remember when he'd started it, or even when you had fallen asleep, but groggily he looked up and spotted Henry looking at the pair of you, grinning like a fool as William tried to quickly and efficiently extract himself from you without disturbing your peaceful sleep.
"So, I think you've certainly become more people oriented recently William." Henry teased as the man grabbed his glasses and rubbed at his face, hair messy and eyes still puffy with sleep.
"Shut the fuck up Henry, one word of this and I'll end you." He hissed, making Henry throw up his hands in mock surrender. Still grinning madly as William turned to look at you again, hoping that Henry didn't see the soft smile that crossed his face before he padded over to wake you up and let Henry take you home.
He didn't trust himself not to do something stupid if he was left alone with you. Something stupid like develop feelings.

My phone buzzes, echoing in my room. I absent mindedly search for my phone with my hand as it buzzes again. Opening one eye, I grab it and smile at the name popping on the screen. But when I look at the time, I groan. "Channie, it's 3 in the morning," I say, groaning into my pillow.
I hear him chuckle. "Sorry, baby. I couldn't resist. I just had to hear your voice."
"Hmm."
"Are you sleepy?"
"Hmm."
He laughs in my ear. "Baby."
"Hmm."
"Are you going to keep saying the same thing to whatever I say?"
"That depends," I replied, half asleep.
"On?"
"What I get in the end."
He laughs again as I turn to my side, placing my phone under my left ear. "Well, what is it that you want exactly?"
"Riding lessons."
"Oh?" I can almost see the smirk he's got on his face.
"Keep it in your pants, Mr. Bang. I actually want biking lessons."
"Oh."
I snort. "Is that all you think about?"
I hear some shuffling on his end and I yawn, waiting for his reply.
"Yes because there's not a day that goes by when I don't think about you."
"Hmm."
"Our time together was too short. I wanted to spend more time with you."
Sleep clouds my brain. "Hmm. Yeah."
He chuckles. "I'll let you go. Goodnight, babygirl. Sweet dreams." The line clicks and I turn to my other side, slumber taking over me.
------------------------------------------------------
The next night, he calls me again but this time, I was awake and alert, enough to hear what he was saying. "Hello?"
"Hey."
Okay, he sounds.... annoyed? "I wanted to apologize to you about last night."
"It's okay. I called you when you were sleeping," he says.
"No, Channie. It was rude of me to fall asleep on you. I'm very sorry."
"Baby."
"And," I added. "I know it's been a long time since we last saw each other."
"Baby, I kn-"
"But then I went back to sleep. I mean who does that? It wasn't nice of m-"
I get cut off by him calling my name. "Y/N!"
I blink at his sudden outburst. "Y-yeah?"
"It's okay. It was my mistake calling so late. I just wanted to hear your voice because I was having trouble sleeping."
My heart soften at his words. "Did anyone tell you how adorable you are?"
He chuckles. "Stop. You're going to make me blush."
I giggle. "I guess that's a good thing? Because the last time we together, it was you who made me blush."
I hear him laugh and it puts a smile on my face. "Hey," he says softly.
"Hmm."
I hear him shuffling again before the line goes dead. I look at my phone, confused. Did he just hang up on me? When I put my phone down, it rings immediately, making me jump. He's face timing me? Now? At this hour?
Clicking accept, it connects the calls and reveals him in a white robe and his curls on display. Wow. Talk about looking like a god. "There's the beautiful girl I missed."
I smile, waving and ignored the heat reaching my cheeks. "Hi."
He smiles. Goodness. He's got the prettiest smile in this world, and that's speaking from a fan's point of view. "Hey, do you mind if I make some tea?"
"Not at all," he replied. But as I get up, he says, "Take me with you."
I grab my phone and walk into the kitchen, placing my phone against my coffee jar. Opening a cabinet above me, I reach up grabbing a mug. "So, how was your day?"
"Better now that I'm watching you."
I almost drop the mug. Jesus, I knew he was like this before we met but to experience such a thing in real life.....
"I am sorry again, about yesterday," I say as I fill the kettle before putting it on the stove.
"Stop."
"Huh?" I glance at my phone before grabbing a tea bag.
"Babe, stop...moving."
I turn and look at my phone. He looked like he was straining, almost like he was in pain. "Are you okay?"
"Fuck," he breathes out, his eyes closed.
"Are you hurt?" Panic starts setting in. "You should take it easy. Your job requires you to use a lot of energy."
"That's not, fuck, that's not it."
I tilt my head, perplexed. Also noticed his robe was opened, revealing his chest. "Channie, what's going on?"
"I'm," he says as he moves his phone away, placing it against something before moving back a bit. "Hard."
Holy mother of all glory. My eyes widen as I glance at it. "Uh..uhm..."
"Sorry but what you're wearing right now is too much for my brain to handle."
I look down and blush. I was wearing my silk night pjs in the color of dark pink. The top had spaghetti straps, showing a lot of cleavage while my pants hugged my curves, especially my ass. I look back up and his hand now on his shaft, stroking it slowly up and down. All the blood rushed down my thighs. "This isn't fair, you know."
He chuckles but groans. "Mmm, I can't wait to come back."
"Yeah," I lean over, one strap falling down my arm as I bite my lip.
"Oh, fuck," he groans, his hands stroking his dick a little faster.
Feeling confident, I lick my lips seductively which makes him lose his mind. "What are you thinking about?" I ask as I slide my hand to my clothed breast, pinching the small nub.
"About you. About how pretty you are and how you would look underneath me," he grunts as pre cum leaks from his tip. "Mm, fuck. Baby, I would fuck those tits."
(The steam slowly starts coming out of the kettle's mouth.)
"Yeah? These tits?" Biting my lip, I groan as I loop my arms out of the spaghetti straps and shove the cloth down to my mid riff, my boobs jiggling as they become free.
"Fuck. Play with them baby. I wanna cum watching you play with your tits as I would if I was there."
(The steam becomes more noticeable from the kettle.)
I do as I'm told. I tweak the nubs on my nipples with both hands as a moan escapes my mouth. "Fuck, Chan."
"Yes, that's it. Keep going."
I rub my nipples and squeeze one just as his breathing becomes more labored. "Fuck, I'm gonna cum."
(The keetle rattles a bit, the steam escaping its mouth more with a small whistle, ready to burst.)
"Yeah. Cum for me, babe. Imagine my mouth on it and cum," I say, my voice breathy and seductive.
"I'm cumming, fuck, I'm gonna cum," his hands pick up the pace as he throws his head back grunting, his body jerking and sperm shoots out of his cock.
(The kettle finally lets out its final whistle.)
As he comes down from his high, his breathing becomes regular and I pour the hot water into a mug, putting the tea bag in. I watch him wipe himself with wet wipes as I put my shirt back on. "Fuck, Y/N."
I chuckle, leaning back on the kitchen counter. "All good?"
"Yes. Fuck, you're too good to me," he hums while wearing his black boxers, closing his eyes before grabbing his phone.
The calls ends adrubtly and I blink at the home screen on my phone. "The fuck?" I shoot him a text.
But no reply.
Did he just seriously call me to jerk off? The nerve of this guy. I scoff, cursing at his name on the screen and make the tea, before walking over to the living room and making myself comfortable on the couch.
I was soon immersed in a movie on the tv when the doorbell rings. "Who the fuck is it at this hour?" Annoyed, I walk over to the intercom, turning on the doorbell camera. Someone or some guy dressed in all black from head to toe. Alarm bells start ringing in my mind. I press the talk button. "Who is it?"
The person removes the face mask. I gasp and run for the door, opening it quickly. "What are you doing here?"
He smiles, stepping inside as he cups my cheeks. "I couldn't wait."
"Wait, were you in Seoul all this time?" I ask, my hands finding their way around his waist.
"Hmm." He nods, placing a kiss on my right cheek, then my left. "I missed you."
Giggling, I reach on my tip toes leaving a kiss on his lips, catching him off guard. "Missed you too."
His left arm snakes around my waist, pulling me closer. "You drive me crazy, you know that?"
"I may," I begin as he leans closer, hovering over my lips. "Have some idea."
"Brat," he whispers before smashing his lips on mine, enticing a moan from me. Leaving my lips, he peppers kisses down my jaw, neck and stops at the top of my breasts. "I said I wanted to-"
"-fuck these?" I finish his sentence. "I thought you were here to give me bike lessons?" I joked.
His eyes snap into mine, his gaze filled with lust. "Lesson number 1." His hands go around my hips, lifting me up and I wrap my legs around his waist. "Adapt to changing conditions."
He starts walking as his eyes search for my bedroom. "And what might I be adapting to?"
His eyes light up when he spots my room. "How to satisfy the driver," he replied, shutting the door with his foot.
Riding lesson #143: complete.

‧₊˚✩彡 1:54 AM — NAGI SEISHIRO
his eyes open, trying to regain proper vision by blinking. tears covered the base of his eyes, nagi scrambled to sit up properly, hands were sliding and slipping against the blankets that covered his torso. eyes scanning his side with an almost agitated and scared expression.
“it's just a dream.” realizing that the vision he saw was merely a figment of his dreams, nagi wipes the tears off his face with the collar of his white sweatshirt. he should've known.. it scared him to death, seeing you leave him without even saying goodbye. how haunting it was to nagi seishiro, who even though said that everything was bothersome can not take losing your presence.
with a small tug, he wakes you. “i'm sorry.. i had a nightmare, can i.. cuddle you again?” seishiro asks softly, watching your sleepy expression contort with confusion. and he takes his chances when you extend one heavy arm, putting himself beneath it to hug you tight. his eyes scan your face while slim fingers pinched your cheek, another check to see if he wasn't dreaming.
he sighs, glad that you're still there beside him whist sleeping like a log.
nagi stares at you for a while, before his eyes feel heavy. definitely feeling a lot safer as he pushes himself closer to your chest, “that dream was a bother.. you're not going to leave me, i know it. i trust you after all.. isn't that right, princess?” he whispers, sliding two fingers up and down your puffy cheeks. “you'll be here for me, promised me that too.” seishiro adds with a slight crack to his voice, unsure of the future you two hold.
worries of your partner wash away when you lean in to his warmth, his snowy hair brushing against the top of your head, giving it a small kiss before returning back to resting his head on top of yours as he soon fell asleep, the moon illuminating both your figures. nagi seishiro felt safer in this moment of slumber, much more better than the naps he had to endure alone in blue lock, that little prison as he called it.
the duvet, mattress, blankets were much softer and comforting. and you were the main source of warmth that he could not find anywhere and in anyone else, it is only in you where he is truly at peace, and his dreams consists of fantasies about the two of you setting off on adventures in his rpg games, or in arcades, playing 80s and 90s games that were his guilty pleasure.
he loved those dreams, and nagi wanted to make sure to keep having them by staying by your side, for years to come.

Look through my soul
Dear Heather Chandler.
I think I should have told you this in person, but I always admired you, despite your disgust towards everyone, I was always your biggest fan, Do you remember those times when we were nobody for each other? I was always admiring you from afar, I always thought you were perfect, and that day you gave me the opportunity to be a Heather, I thought I was dreaming, Heather, my sweet Heather, oh how sorry I am, they told me you managed to live after drinking the cleaning fluid, I'm so sorry, I know Duke or McNamara will send you this letter, despite what happened at the Remington party they still have a little respect for me, oh Heather, I couldn't stand to see your face again after what I did, So many things have happened since you went into a coma from poisoning, the school became a war camp, and in the meantime, JD died. This letter was to give you my most sincere apologies, but also to confess something, Heather Chandler, I Veronica Sawyer, since the first day I saw you I have been in love with you, I know, It's ironic right? the person who almost murdered you, is in love with you, As I told you before, I know that I will not be able to live with the guilt of my actions, so I will kill myself, This October 1, 1989, I will end my agony, at the Old Mill Bridge, at 11:00 pm, I love you Chandler, I always have, forgive me for everything, but I can't take this anymore.
I wish you a wonderful life
With love Veronica Sawyer
———————————————————————
"SHIT OH NO NO NO, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING, VERONICA I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DO THIS TO ME" after Heather woke up and read the letter that Veronica send her, she knew exactly what she had to do "Duke, Please come pick me up at the hospital, it's urgent."
————————————————————————
"Oh my god, the mythic bitch came back from the dead, I thought I would lose you forever" Duke looked at Chandler While she was lying on the hospital bed, Heather looked her up and down, saying nothing about her new look, red skirt, red jacket, her red scrunchie, without saying anything She raised her hand with Veronica's letter to Duke.
"What the fuck is this Heather?" the girl asked, taking the paper in her hands.
"Just read it" Heather's voice came out as a limp whisper,
"Is this the shit that Veronica asked me to give you? " the girl said while reading the letter "what the- Verónica will?... come on, this should be a joke, right?" Duke's face paled, she stood looking at Heather while trying to think that it was a bad joke that letter
"Duke, what day is it today?" Heather asked as she looked at her hands in her lap, praying it wasn't too late.
"First of October"
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
YOOO, this is my first fic, It's 2:51 in the morning and I should be sleeping but here I am writing a fan fic about the Heather's, I would like to know if you would like me to continue with the story, I actually wrote this out of boredom, and because I'm not sleepy, BUT ANYWAY, I'm sorry if there are bad spellings but English is not my first language, and that's all, take care of yourselves and remember not to get poisoned with something, luv u 🫶

Ideas - scenario where human finds borrower but decides they don't want to know so now it's the borrower who chases the human who wants nothing to do with them.
Human finds and interacts with borrower family instead of one person.
This is such a fun idea! :) Here's my take.
A walked down the hallway away from their lecture, rubbing their eyes with sleepiness. They had gone to bed at 1 am last night and slept through all of their alarms. Finally waking up an hour after they were supposed to, they rushed out the door without breakfast and practically ran over a freshman. They burst into the hall just as the lecture started, panting. After class their stomach growled hungrily and they opted to get something from the vending machines, they took a sharp right into the hallway, yawning, they could already tell today was going to be great. /sarc. They walked up to a vending machine, rummaging around in their bag for their debit card, shuffling their feet. Suddenly, they heard the soft thump of something hitting the ground. They sighed figuring they probably dropped something from their wallet.
They kneeled down looking around and sighed again not seeing anything, so they crawled onto their belly and froze. Underneath the vending machine was a tiny... animal.... thing... person? A stared at it, it stared back it's tiny arm completely engulfed in a half eaten candy bar. A rubbed their sleepy eyes again to make sure they weren't imagining this. When they made sure they weren't they blinked again, all of the frustration and the anxiety of the morning boiling over. A stood up, turned on their heel and walked away.
Just as they were halfway down the hallway, they heard the pitter-patter of tiny feet on the ground. "Wait!" A tiny voice called behind them. They froze and turned around. The tiny person had followed them legs shaking, but probably much braver than someone of that size should be. "Please don't tell anyone about me!" It cried shakily.
A blinked again. "Why would I tell anyone about you?" They asked deliriously. They blinked again at the three inch tall person on the floor...three inch tall person...three inch....tall...person. "Holy Shit, you're a three inch tall person!" A jumped back their sleep deprived brain finally processing the situation.
"Yeah," The thing A had subconsciously dubbed B said in confusion.
A blinked again, B could almost a loading screen circle on their forehead. "That's.. interesting. Okay, have a nice day!" A again, started walking away.
"WAIT!" B shouted again. "Please don't tell anyone about me! I promise, I won't bother you anymore I swear."
A turned around "I already said I wouldn't, remember? Now, go do tiny people things or whatever." And with that A turned around the last time and walked out of the hallway. B was left dumfounded on the ground, just standing there.
Sorry if this wasn't what you were imagining. :( I'm very sleep deprived so I don't know if this is any good.

BONUS! MOD'S CHOICE POLL!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mod's Propaganda Under the Cut:
Judai:
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Yu-Gi-Oh fan. For whatever reason, this series imprinted on me when I was a child and I just never let it go. I've watched the original series, season 0, GX, 5Ds, and Arc V, as well as read the original manga, the GX manga, and the Arc V manga, as well as watched all the movies. The point is: I like Yu-Gi-Oh. There are people who like it more than me, that have watched all the series and what not, but I think I still like it an absurd amount. And out of all the protagonists I know, Judai is my favorite. He's just so lovable, you can't help but like him! He's goofy, he's reliable, he's fun, he has a descent into madness, he's gay, what more could you want in a shounen protagonist? Though being sleepy isn't a major part of him, it's more of a gag of him slacking in class and always going to sleep, it's still super funny and I'm a little sad that he lost in Round 1, though I do like Sonic as well (who he lost to). Give the Slifer Slacker a chance!
Linhardt:
Considering Linhardt is my profile picture at the moment, I don't think I need to justify this too much. But I will anyway. Linhardt is the sleepy crest scholar. Although I will be the first to admit that I am not actually a Fire Emblem fan (and tbh I find the writing in Three Houses kind of bad) (sorry to those who enjoy it) I love Linhardt so much anyway. He's probably my favorite in that very large cost. I love that he's so unapologetically sleepy, like he doesn't care if you scold him to do work, he will do work on his own time. Not only that, but he's actually really smart and dedicated when he wants to be. Linny's friendship with Caspar is really nice, especially since I think someone needs to save Caspar from his awful dad & self-destructive tendencies. Plus, I really like his supports. Especially with Marianne, Hubert, and Edelgard. His supports with Dorothea in Three Hopes is also really nice.
Garfield:
It's Garfield. He's a classic comic. He's a classic meme. Little orange kitty. What more could you possibly want? I love Snoopy, but to be perfectly honest I think Garfield should have gotten as far as Snoopy.
Sleepytime Tea Bear:
Again. He's just a classic. What more would you want but a sleepy bear in pajamas on a chair?
Olruggio:
I'm a big Witch Hat Atelier fan and I love Olruggio. Like yes, I like Orufrey like everyone else, but I also just like Olruggio on his own. I like his scruffy little look and I love the fact that at first he is so intimating but almost immediately he's revealed to be a big softie. I love his light magic motif and I really think it's sweet that he made the thing to keep you warm when you sleep and gave it to the kids-- he's a FATHER. This man needs a nap fr though. Man I need to catch up with this manga.
Osaka:
IT'S OSAKA. Like!!! I don't even know how many clips and comics from Azumanga Daioh make the rounds around Tumblr, but specifically the ones about Osaka are amazing!!! She has the most autistic anime girl swag I love her so much. She's so sweet and earnest and silly... I always lose my mind at "OH MAH GOD!" and she has so many other classics. Like when she makes the Osaka stamp with her eraser or when she struggles to cross the street because she keeps zoning out when the light gets green or when she's distressed about Americans wearing shoes inside... I love her. And to her sleepyheadness, she's always falling asleep in class and whenever she's studying she just starts falling asleep. She's just like me fr...
Takane:
Back in the day I really liked Kagerou Project and so as tribute to my old obsession from middle/high school I have to give a spot to Takane. My favorite part of the series was when we saw flashbacks to the Yuukei quartet and Headphone Actor is still a bop.
Tanaka:
THE REASON WHY I STARTED THIS TOURNAMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Last December during finals I decided to read something light and fun while working and I chose Tanaka-kun is Always Listless because I remember the title from a few years ago when the anime came out and like I loved it SOOOOOO much. He's the ultimate sleepyboy and he's just so funny and relatable. He needs to be carried around by his best friend Ohta and his ultimate goal in life is to minimize as much effort as possible and he's always nodding off and he dislikes being a main character, instead wishing he was a background character... my favorite guy for real.

Mother and Father: A Hello Neighbor Fanfic
By JJ
Summary: 1 of each time where Nicky accidentally called Theodore and Diane "Mom" and "Dad". (And he didn't even realize it)
Diane had woken up at about 4:38 in the morning, and her throat felt a little dry, so she got up to get some water. As she drank her water, she heard a crying noise coming from outside.
"Who could be crying?", she asked herself. She put on her slippers and stepped outside, she looked everywhere to see where the crying was coming from, and she wasn't ready for what she saw next.
Nicky was lying on their lawn, curled up into a ball, and sniffling. The young man was staying with them as his parents were on a business trip, and Diane was silently questioning why he was on their lawn.
"Nicky?"
"I'm sorry, Bubba, I don't mean to wander.", cried Nicky.
"Who's Bubba?", she whispered. Either way, it was obvious that Nicky was having a nightmare. She didn't want to wake him up, but she also didn't want to leave the poor baby sleeping on their lawn. She gently tried to wrap her arms around his small frame, and when she had him in her arms, she carried him back inside, wiping away the tears that fell from his sleepy eyes.
"It's alright, Nicky. It's just a dream. You're okay. Everything's going to be alright. Just go to sleep, dream better dreams."
Nicky seemed to calm down.
"You'll be alright. I've got you. I'll comfort you through your nightmares."
"Okay, Mama."
Diane's eyes widened when he said that. The neighbor's kid just called her "Mama". She smiled. She loved being a mother, and she loved comforting her beautiful children through their nightmares, and Nicky just made her heart swell with so much happiness.
Diane settled him back in his sleeping bag in Aaron's room and tucked him in. She gave him a light kiss on his forehead and left to go back to bed.
About a few weeks later, Nicky's parents returned from their business trip, and Nicky was back at home. He was just playing Doom Eternal with Aaron, when they got bored a few hours later.
"I'm bored, dude.", said Aaron.
"Me too.", replied Nicky.
"My dad's making pork chop sandwiches for lunch.", Aaron got up from the couch, "Do you want to come over?"
"Pork chop sandwiches? Sounds good. I might come over, I am getting a little hungry."
"Cool."
The boys went across the street, and they saw Mr. Peterson in the kitchen. He was just chopping away at some raw meat, his apron all stained with animal blood. He almost looked like he killed someone. Nicky nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Hello, boys.", said Mr. Peterson. "Lunch might be a little late, so I think there's some leftover pot roast in the fridge."
"Thanks, Dad.", said Aaron. He turned to Nicky. "I gotta pee, I'll be right back."
Nicky nodded and Aaron left for the bathroom.
"Nicholas, would you like to help me with lunch?"
Nicky absolutely did not want to help him make lunch. He didn't want to touch raw meat, and he for sure didn't want to touch blood. But, as to not be rude, he nodded.
"Great, just put the meat in the bowl so I can season it."
A few minutes into this, Nicky tried not to get disgusted by the meat, but it just felt so gross. He turned to get some more chopped up meat, but his eyes nearly fell out of his head when he saw how bloody it was, and how Mr. Peterson chopped it like a 17th Century beheading.
"Are you alright, Nicky?"
"Huh?", Nicky snapped back to reality. "Yeah, I'm doing just fine.", he said. He wished Aaron would just come back from the bathroom already.
He resumed putting meat in the bowl, and tried to take his eyes off the horrific scene. But of course, life had other plans.
He went to get some more meat, but Mr. Peterson accidentally sliced his pointer finger and middle finger open. A large cut formed on both fingers, and blood spilled on the pork chops.
Nicky felt like throwing up. Everything in his stomach felt like coming back up. He immediately ran to the trash can and threw up all of what he had for breakfast this morning.
"JESUS CHRIST! Nicky, are you alright?!", Mr. Peterson said in shock.
"I'm perfectly not fine-", Nicky threw up again.
Once Nicky finished throwing up, Mr. Peterson took him to the sink, and helped him rinse his mouth out.
"You're alright, Nicholas. I didn't know this sort of thing made you uncomfortable."
"It's fine.
"Listen,...", said Mr. Peterson, "How about I just make you a salad for lunch? No gross blood or raw meat involved.", Nicky nodded at that.
"I was considering becoming a vegetarian after that happened anyway.", said Nicky. "Thanks, Dad."
Mr. Peterson was not expecting that. Did Nicholas see him as a father figure? He didn't hate it, he was just surprised.
"How about you just go sit down. I'll call you kids when lunch is ready."
"Okay, Mr. Peterson."
Mr. Peterson felt a little disappointed that Nicky didn't call him "Dad" again, but he took his mind off of it by continuing with chopping meat.

Also cruising with sonny late night listening to music in his car 🥹🥲
His hand on ur thigh windows down and you could be singing to him
*sure thing by Miguel*
authors note: heyy, here's your request. i wasn't sure what vibe/genre you were going for but hopefully, you'll like this. i think this might be one of my personal favs
word count: approx 1.1k words
warnings: none, pure fluff maybe a twinge of angst if you squint your eyes
_________________________________________________
"Come on, I can't sleep." Son's comment elicited a sleepy groan from the girl beside him.
"So you won't go on a drive with me? He lowered his head until his face was almost touching yours.
"Sonny, it's 1 AM." you stirred, your eyes still closed.
"And?" he said before brushing your forehead with his lips.
He observes as you scoff at the sheer audacity he has to wake you up.
"Come on, you've been down since you came back from France, the drive will cheer you up, and I want to see my favourite girl smile," he whined. You groaned but then reluctantly opened your eyes and took a deep breath.
"I'll even buy you food." He said, trying to bribe you. You rolled your eyes, and a small smile escaped your lips
Not only because the food sounded good but so did spending time with Son. It's true that you've been upset over the last few days. It was also true that it had something to do with your recent trip to France. But you weren't ready to talk about it yet, and you are grateful to Sonny for not pressuring you to open up.
"Fine," you grumble, "But I better get my food."
"I swear all you do is eat. Maybe your new nickname should be piggy," he said before breaking into his famous laugh, which quickly died down once he caught you sending daggers.
"Do you want to go on a drive alone? I swear you hang around Dele too much," you said, rolling your eyes before getting up from the bed.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he hugged you from behind, leaning heavily on you.
"I can't change with you on me." You shook your head, attempting to ignore the warmth his embrace provided.
"Say you forgive me." He leaned away and looked into your eyes, his expression pleading for understanding
"I forgive you," you uttered the words reluctantly, unsure if you meant them.
He turned you around in his hands. "I don't believe you."
You sighed, your anger dissipating as you looked into his eyes. You couldn't stay mad at him when he looked at you with that adorable pout.
"I," you say softly, kissing his neck.
"For" you, leave one on his left cheek.
"Give", and you leave another on his right.
"You," you let out before lightly connecting your lips with his.
----------------
You had to admit that drives with Sonny were the best. You felt something you couldn't put into words as the two of you watched the world fade together. His hand was gently resting inside your thigh. A feeling you wouldn't trade. You felt safe, secure, and deeply connected to him.
He turns on the music, and that's what fills the silence inside the car.
You are a big fan of r&b music, so it wasn't a surprise that you were singing along to the chorus of Sure Thing not very long into the drive.
Even when the sky comes falling
Even when the sun don't shine
I got faith in you and I
He wished that he could tell what you were thinking. He didn't want to admit it, but he was addicted to the girl sitting beside him. He knew he wasn't your usual type. He was surprised you two lasted so long. But he was grateful for meeting you. All he wanted to do was remove all the pain in your life and replace it with joy.
So put your pretty little hand in mine.
Finally, you sang, squeezing his hand with your tighs and making him look.
You closed your eyes and bopped your head in time to the music, seemingly oblivious to anything around you. Son was completely captivated; he couldn't tear his gaze away from you.
"You might want to pay attention to the road unless you want us to die," you said with a hint of playfulness. Your words startled him out of his trance.
Son smiles at you and listens to you sing for the rest of the drive.
At some point during your trip, you guys stopped to get food. Doing rock, paper, scissors to decide who would choose the place to eat. You won and settled on some maccies. You two sat in the car, belting out tunes while eating, having the time of your lives no worries, and completely stress-free.
You wished every day could be like this.
--------------
When you looked out the window, the people, the lights, the trees, and the night sky all blurred together into one chaotic palette.
It was as if only you and Son existed, with everyone else a mere speck on the canvas of your life.
With the man beside you, contentment was the only emotion you felt. Even that was an understatement.
You were slowly lulled to sleep by the light breeze on your face, your mouth slightly open and a calm expression on your face. Son smiled to himself as he stopped at a red light. He leaned across and gently kissed the crown of your head. His lips lingered for a moment longer, and he inhaled deeply before closing his eyes, savouring the moment. A fragment of your singing had stuck in his mind, and he recalled it.
If you be the cash, I'll be the rubber band
You be the match, I will be a fuse, boom!
You sang, your face hidden behind your hands. Your face only reappeared as you said the final word. He could tell you loved the way the song made you feel as you danced back and forth in your seat.
Painter baby, you could be the muse
I'm the reporter, baby you could be the news
He was wide-eyed, so amused by you and your voice. You could have fooled him into thinking he was a pirate and you were a siren trying to entice him. It was like he was stuck in a trance, absolutely in awe.
'Cause you're the cigarette and I'm the smoker
We raise a bet 'cause you're the joker
You poked his shoulder with a grin. His heart skipped a beat, and he smiled as he watched you. Everyone has an addiction, and he was sure you were his.
Checked off, you are the chalk and I could be the blackboard
And you can be the talk and I could be the walk
As you sang quietly, you didn't notice the man watching you with a flushed face and a lovesick look on his face. The words "I love you" came out of his mouth unexpectedly.
You stopped singing, stunned and embarrassed by the sudden outburst.
You were so flustered, and he thought it was adorable. The corners of his eyes crinkle as his smile broadens.
With those precious moments of your angelic voice, he knew you were the girl he wanted to marry.

Welcome back!
How about headcanons with some casual intimacy? Like demons guys of your choice just sitting on the floor for some reason and Mc just puts their legs over the boys shoulders? Just to chill and sit like that.
Sorry if it's confusing
No worries Nonnie, I got you!! I think I'm going to pick Levi, Belphie, and Mammon, mainly because I think they would be the most surprised by it.
-----
Mammon: It wasn't often that Mammon could be found concentrating so hard on something, even less so when the thing he was concentrating on wasn't money-related. But Levi had been ranting and raving about this new manga that came out, and the plot had been intriguing enough for Mammon to pick it up.
(Translation: Levi had left it on the couch in the living room and Mammon decided that meant he could read it.)
Usually the manga that Levi liked didn't have enough action to keep him entertained, but this particular murder mystery gripped him by the throat and before he knew it he was almost done with the first volume and contemplating asking Levi if he could borrow the second.
"Did Levi convince you to read that one too?"
Mammon felt a pair of arms wrap loosely around his shoulders before someone rested their chin against the crook of his neck. There was only one person with that much of a lack of self-preservation instinct.
"Jeez, human, you've got some nerve sneaking up on the Great Mammon like that!" Mammon huffed, twisting around in their grip to glare at them. It must not have had the heat in it that he wanted it to, because the human merely grinned and gave him a peck on the cheek.
"I didn't sneak up on you, you were so into the manga that you didn't notice me."
"Whatever," he grumbled, cheeks hot. "Most people would at least hesitate to hug one of the seven rulers of Hell without warning."
"Do you want me to stop?"
"I didn't say that!"
Levi: "If you hit me with that blue shell, I swear to - Levi!"
Leviathan cackled as the human's character spun out of control. "Out of my way, normie, I've got a Demario Kart race to win!"
"You suck!" the human whined, kicking at Levi's hip from where they sat sideways on the sofa next to him. "Enjoy your ill-gotten victory, you filthy cheater."
"It's not cheating if I use an item that the game gives you!"
"It's dirty!" Despite their harsh words, the human was grinning as they finally regained control of their car. "I hope you fall off of the track."
"Someone is a sore loser," Levi grinned.
"You haven't even won yet!"
They had been sitting with their legs folded for the better part of an hour, so the human desperately needed to stretch their legs. Instead of turning their body to sit with their feet on the floor like a normal person, they unfolded their legs and laid them directly in Levi's lap.
"Huh - wha - I - wh-wh-what are you doing?" Levi stammered, hands slipping off of the controller at the sudden invasion of his personal space.
"Stretching."
"Oh, and I'm playing dirty?" he grumbled, fumbling around until he finally got his hands back into the correct position on the controller. When he looked back at the screen, the human's character whizzed past him and over the finish line.
"That was cheap," Levi frowned.
"Womp womp."
Belphie: "Why is your sleep schedule so messed up?"
Belphegor had texted the human at 1:00 am with instructions to meet him outside because the stars were pretty and he wanted to stargaze with them. They never thought that the Avatar of Sloth would have sleep problems, but then again, he slept so much during the day that he was basically nocturnal.
"You could have said no," Belphie shrugged from where he was leaning against the wall of the garden.
"But then I don't get to spend any time with you because you nap the whole day," the human shot back, rubbing at their eyes groggily. "So you get sleepy human and you're gonna like it."
"Hm," he hummed. "I don't mind sleepy human, though. You're cute when you're sleepy."
The human mumbled something before shifting around. Belphie was about to ask them what they were doing before they rested their head in his lap.
"Can I help you?" he asked instead.
"Yes, by shutting up."
They kept their eyes closed, and Belphie was secretly glad because he could feel his cheeks getting hot. "Why?"
"You said you like sleepy human, so you're getting sleepy human."
"...Alright then," Belphie finally relented, bringing his hand down to idly stroke their hair. "I guess this is okay."

Haikyuu Characters First Kiss with Their GF
Sakusa, Kageyama, Akaashi PT. 1
Tumblr media
Sakusa Kiyoomi
It was Itachiyama's game with Karasuno, and to be completely frank, I was terrified. Kiyo's team was winning, but I'd heard, and seen, some insane things from/about them. So when the ball hit the ground inside the lines and I heard the buzzer, I almost started sobbing. Kiyo had been practicing so hard for this and it payed off.
I was with his coach on the side lines, smiling brightly with tears in my eyes, as they went around thanking each other and the audience.
Finally Kiyo came over and smiling at me.
"We won." He said and I giggled.
"I saw. Congratulations Kiyo, I know you worked really hard. Good on all of you." I said to the team at the end. He smiled and then looked down and scowled.
"I'm going to go shower." I nodded, smiling.
...
"Good job, really." I said on the bus ride back to his house. He smiled and sighed as he let his head fall on my shoulder.
"I couldn't have done it without you." He said, nuzzling his head around.
"Wah, it's four am." I said.
"Woah." He replied as his head jerked up in surprise.
"Aww, you look so sleepy." I cooed and he blushed softly, not that I could really tell, his mask covered most of his cheeks.
"I am." He groaned as he flopped his head back onto my shoulder.
"Ow." I whined.
"That didn't hurt." He scoffed, playfully. I rolled my eyes and started brushing my fingers through his hair.
"We still have over an hour, honey, I'll wake you up when we're there if you want to sleep." He nodded and looked up. I raised my brows and pouted my lips, silently asking what he needed.
He raised his head back up and pulled his mask down.
"What?" I asked, a bit confused.
"You know what I noticed today?" I hummed.
"I was so tired, thinking I was going to pass out." I furrowed my brows in confusion but he kept going.
"But when I looked over at you, with your hands clasped and your little confused face, yeah that one." I smiled.
"I realized how much I loved you." I sucked in a breath and he smiled.
"You don't have to say it back, just wanted you to know." He said.
"Kiyo?" I whispered.
"Yeah?"
"Can you kiss me?" I asked. He glanced down at my lips before softly cupping my jaw and slowly bringing us together into a soft kiss.
It was not one of those kisses you see on TV, it was so bad, neither of us had kissed anyone before. But knowing it was with the man I wanted to be with for the rest of my life, it was perfect.
He slowly pulled away and opened his eyes.
"I love you too." I smiled as he nuzzled his head into my collarbone, a blushing mess.
Tumblr media
Kageyama
I groaned as the ball fell to the ground and I followed.
"Tsukishima!" Kageyama screamed as he ran over to me.
"Okay, I didn't mean for that to happen." Tsukishima said.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Suga asked as he came closer.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I looked up and heard Hinata make an 'oh..'
"What?" I asked.
"You're bleeding. C'mere, let me get the first aid kit." Suga said but Kageyama stepped forward.
"I'll do it." He said and Suga nodded.
"Alright everyone, let's get back to practice." He said as he turned around.
Kageyama had an arm wrapped around my waist as we walked to Takeda-san and he opened the first aid kit.
"Y/n, do you feel disoriented at all?" He asked as he handed a package of tissues to Kageyama to open.
"No sir, just a tingly feeling." I giggled.
Kageyama tilted my head up and I shook my head.
"Mm-mn, that's not good for a bloody nose." I said.
"Well you're still a know-it-all, so I think you'll be fine." Kageyama said.
"Hehe." I giggled as Takeda-san walked away.
"I'm sorry you got hit in the face." Kageyama mumbled as I pressed a tissue under my nose.
"It's fine, and hey, Tsukishima didn't do it on purpose." He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah. Mhm. Are you sure you feel okay?" He asked.
"...Actually, it does hurt." I said and he eyes widened.
"Where?" He asked as he bent down to be level with my face.
"Here." I pointed to my lips.
"Didn't Tsukishima hit you in the nose?" He asked confusedly.
"Tobio." I deadpanned.
"What- Oh." He flushed and cradled my head in his hands, letting me move the tissue out of the way. My nose had stopped bleeding.
He smiled as he brought us together in a slightly hesitant kiss. I smiled into the kiss and he pulled away and patted my head softly.
"Get back to practice you." I giggled.
"Mkay, just face the wall okay?" I pursed my lips and pushed him away and he had a grin as he walked away.
Tumblr media
Akaashi Keji
"Bokuto!" I laughed as I was engulfed in a huge bear hug.
"Y/n, you didn't say you were coming today!" He yelled, excitedly.
"Ah, it was just on a whim, I made some cookies and decided to bring some." I said and he gasped.
"Guys! Y/n brought cookies!" He yelled and the rest of the team came in, Akaashi was walking slowly behind them.
"Here, how about you give them out." I said and Bokuto nodded as I walked to Akaashi.
"Hi, Keji." He smiled as I hugged him.
"Hey princess." He said softly.
"Bokuto seems happy." I said and Akaashi chuckled.
"He was a bit upset earlier, couldn't spike the way he wanted to." I nodded in understanding.
"Thanks for the cookies by the way, you didn't need to do that." He smiled.
"No, I did, I made a lot more than I thought." He laughed at my expression and I smiled at the sound.
.
I stayed for their practice because Keji said he'd take me out for coffee after. That wasn't the only reason I was going of course, but coffee with your boyfriend is better than coffee alone.
"Hey, I just washed up, let's go." I nodded at Akaashi and turned around.
"Bye Bokuto-san, I'll see you at school tomorrow!" I waved.
"Byeee!" He yelled and waved back.
.
"Good job today." I said when we sat down by a window in the coffee shop. He sighed and smiled as he shook his head slightly.
"Yeah, it was a good practice, mostly since you were there." I blushed.
"Flirt." I accused.
"Only for you, baby." He batted his eyelashes as he took a sip of his drink.
"You're too pretty for you're own good." I giggled.
"I'm serious though, it meant a lot, even if you thought it wasn't much. The team's been stressed lately." I nodded in understanding.
"Well if there's anything I can do, please tell me." I said as I got up to put my tray and plate where it needed to go and Akaashi got up to walk with me.
"Hm, well, one thing." I raised and eyebrow as we left the café.
"What is it?" I asked as he grabbed my hand softly.
"Can you kiss me?" He asked.
"Can I kiss you?" I repeated.
"Mhmm.." He blushed.
I tugged on his hand slowly and he smiled. He leant down until our lips touched and we both smiled into the kiss until we pulled away.
"Less stressed?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Let's do it again just to make sure." I nodded as he pulled me closer by the waist and connected our lips again.

Henry Danger Reader Insert | Captain Man x Reader: SEASON 1
Episode 3: Mo' Danger, Mo' Problems
Reporting to his job, Henry walked into the elevator and hit the down button. Even though he braced himself, the sensation of falling down the shaft in the broken machine still made him scream all the way to the bottom. The elevator door opened, letting the pyjama-clad boy step out.
"He's got to fix that elevator." He groaned and huffed to (y/n), as he walked into the Man Cave.
"Where's Ray? He triple-beeped me." Henry asked the sleepy-looking woman, who like him was wearing pyjamas.
"Honestly? I don't know. Jerk woke me up and just said to give you this and to tell you to put it on your wrist." (y/n) held out a watch for him and rubbing her tired eyes.
"Sure, what else would I put it on?"He joked, fastening the strap, as (y/n) chuckled at him.
"Flip the cover." She said as she sat down with her arms on the back of the couch. She let her head flop down as she looked at Henry.
"Hiya Henry!" Ray said excitedly in hologram form. 'So that was his plan.' (y/n) grumbled in her mind.
"Oh!" Henry looked at the little Ray in shock at the sudden appearance of his boss.
"Ray?" He said to make sure it was him.
"Yep. I'm hovering over your wrist in hologram form!" He said waving his hands in a silly manner. Henry wanted to see how his new gadget worked, so he poked Ray in his eye, causing him to clutch it in fake pain.
"You poked my eye out!" He screamed, making (y/n) roll her eyes.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Henry thought he had injured his boss and put a hand over his racing heart.
"I'm just kidding. You can't hurt a hologram or a Captain Man!" Ray reassured him, doing a little dance.
"This is so cool." Henry geeked out at the thought of having hologram tech.
"It would be even cooler if I hadn't been woken up." (y/n) mumbled, her words slurred from her face being smushed into her arms.
"It's like we're in the same room." Henry carried on complimenting the watch.
"We are." The holo-Ray turned around and walked off, causing the image to fizzle out. Henry looked confused and waved his hand over his wrist to see where the man had gone.
"Where'd you..." Henry started, but Ray had crept past (y/n) and patted him on the shoulder, scaring the wits out of the boy.
"Peek-a-boo," Ray said, as Henry screamed. The young woman at the couch wasn't happy from the noise and looked up at the males who were keeping her awake.
"Couldn't this have waited until morning, doofus?" She glared.
"Aww, she's always grumpy when she's tired." Ray fawned over her despite the killer look she was giving him, before turning back to his sidekick.
"Now, take off your old wristband." He instructed.
"Okay, why am I--" Henry started, but Ray was too impatient for questions.
"From now on I'm going to contact you on your new whiz watch."
"So what do I do with the old one?" Henry questioned, holding the old gadget in his hand.
"Toss it up in the air," Ray replied nonchalantly.
"Why?"
"It's about to self-destruct." He told the teen, who promptly threw it to the ground with wide eyes. The bracelet started beeping, but there was a delay between the beeps and the explosion.
"Hmm- that's weird. It was supposed to--" They were caught off guard by the wristband imploding, making them jump into each other's arms and (y/n) to awake from her dozing with a start.
She looked up and saw the two hugging each other in fear, but they soon found it awkward, so they parted, clearing their throats and avoiding eye contact.
"I see you're wearing pyjama pants," Ray mentioned, trying to diffuse the awkwardness.
"Yeah, it's almost midnight. I was studying for this huge test I have tomorrow." Henry explained.
"And I was asleep, but you came into my room and jumped on my bed." The girl had walked over to Ray and was pointing an accusing finger in his face. He just smiled at her and pulled her into a warm hug.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He said, his body heat making her sleepy again, so she stayed silent and just let herself doze off against his chest.
"What subject?" Ray asked over her head, trying to ignore the sweet smell of her shampoo. The vibrations from his chest made her face feel funny.
"Puerto Rican history." Henry overlooked their cuteness and didn't mention the embrace, because he knew Ray would kill him.
"Ahh, Puerto Rico, Land of..." The superhero began, but he trailed off when he realised he didn't know a lot about the country.
"Puerto Ricans?" Kid Danger filled in for him.
"Right." He admitted defeat, but the emergency alarm went off, which made (y/n) jump in his arms. With a whiny moan, she stepped out of his warmth and trudged over to the supercomputer with them, opening the camera link to the store above.
"What's up, Gooch?" She slurred with her elbows on the control panel and her face in her hands.
"There's a robbery in progress." He instantly reported.
"Where?" Ray interrogated.
"At the 24-hour antique bottle shop."
"Glass from The Past?" Henry asked, knowing where the store was in downtown Swellview.
"Affirmative," Gooch said.
"On it." Ray said, as his best friend slowly pressed the off button, cutting the video call.
"Right here to Glass from The Past, ETA is like, 15 minutes I think." She said quietly, rubbing her face so she could wake up and notify the owner about Captain Man's arrival.
"Shall we?" Ray showed his gum tube to Henry, who shared his look of determination.
"Let's blow some bubbles and fight some crime," Henry said, putting the gumball in his mouth. They chewed and stepped away from the computer, so they could transform properly into their Captain Man and Kid Danger costumes.
"Let's hit it, Kid Danger." Captain Man said to the boy on his right.
"Fist." Henry and Ray fist-bumped each other, both running on adrenaline.
"Get some sleep." Ray said to (y/n), who was wearily looking on from the computer chair. She waved at the two, as they ran to the tubes and slapped their belt buckles.
"So whipped." Henry chuckled, once his tube was down and only Ray could hear him.
"Up the tube," Ray said in a slightly stern voice, looking at Henry with his serious face, but the boy cheekily grinned back, as they were sucked up.
"Aw, my boot!" Henry couldn't believe his shoe had fallen off, all the way down at the other end of the tube.
"Ha! Serves you right! Just yell, 'Up the boot!'" Ray bit his tongue, amused that karma had paid Henry back for all his teasing. With Henry gaining his boot back, the two made their way to the store, ready to kick some criminal butt.
~(y/n)'s PoV~
I hadn't felt that tired in a while, but working for Captain Man meant that every couple of weeks brought a few sleepless nights. The last robbery at Swellview Bank had only been a few days before, and Ray didn't come back 'til 3AM. Like me, he was exhausted from fighting The Toddler and the rookie criminals at the bank. Still, he was lucky that he now had Henry to help him. I made him some hot cocoa and we both fell asleep for 14 hours, waking up the next day to another emergency call.
I blushed when I remembered how Ray's arms were around my waist from him spooning me in our sleep. He groaned as he got up, and I quickly had to answer Gooch's call before he saw my red face.
'No, no no, focus on the task at hand.' I scolded myself.
'Just call the store owner and tell him Captain Man is on his way. No distractions.' I took in a deep breath and dialled the number on the supercomputer.
"H--Hello?" The man on the other end of the line shakily said.
"Hello sir, Captain Man will be with you in a few minutes, please remain calm," I said softly, not wanting the man to freak out and do something that meant the robber would hurt him.
"Please! I need him here now! I'm being robbed!" I sighed, feeling too tired to deal with this, but I carried on, knowing my colleagues would be there soon.
"Sir, please stay calm. Captain Man and Kid Danger will be with you shortly." I tried to keep the man quiet, knowing the criminal was close by, possibly even in the same room as him.
"Put that phone down, come on bro, open up that cash register." I heard the thug shouting and slamming on the counter. 'Sweet cheese, come on Ray.' I prayed that things wouldn't get ugly.
"I'm going as fast as I can, boss!" I made out the owner trying to tell him, but it seemed the robber wasn't a patient man.
"Give me that pretty lavender bottle, 'cause it matches my motorcycle helmet." My eyebrows furrowed when I heard the strange request, deducing that this was another nutjob, bad guy.
I continued the listen to the poor owner follow the demands of the robber, hearing the rustle of paper and his compliant answers.
"Excuse me." I let out a sigh of relief when I heard Ray's familiar Captain Man voice through the speaker. The owner's delighted words reassured me that he now had the proper help and that the criminal was about to face justice.
I pressed the end button on the panel, glad that my job was done. I slowly got up from my chair and stretched my tired muscles. Feeling the sleepiness creep up on me, I decided to take Ray's advice and slowly lumbered up to the sprocket and off to bed.
~Glass From The Past, 3rd Person PoV~
"What the--" The robber looked over to see Captain Man had just entered the store, much to the happiness and delight of the owner he was threatening.
"I hope you're planning to pay for that lavender bottle," Ray told the criminal, but he knew the real answer.
"And I hope that, too!" Henry added in, as he shot through the door and stood next to the older man. The store owner was so relieved to have the duo in his store to protect him and his property.
Ray walked forward, in time with the goon, and stood in front of him in a standoff. The two glared at each other.
"I ain't afraid of you." The thug said in a tough voice, raising the metal bar in his hand and whacking it on Ray's head. Keeping cool, Ray swallowed down the yelp that threatened to escape and coolly looked back to the criminal.
"Try again. Keep your left arm straight." He said, his eyes squinting in a challenge to the large man. Not backing down, the man hit him again with more force, the pain making him grunt this time.
"Strike three." He growled huskily, having had enough with the criminal, but Henry butted into his imposing façade.
"That was only two." He pointed out.
"Okay, don't correct me in front of the criminals." Ray chastised him, not wanting to look dumb. Henry backed off, so Ray could stop the man on his next swing. Grabbing the arm with the metal pipe in, Ray knocked it back into the man's face, making him scream in pain. Stepping back, Ray then kicked him into a display of antique bottles, which horrified the cashier.
"You really wanna fight us? Ray asked, not caring about the broken vases. The man looked between the large, muscly superhero and his smaller, scrawny sidekick.
"Can I just fight the kid?" He asked looking at Captain Man, which offended Henry, who thought he could take on any bad guy, even if they were three times his size.
"No, you can't just fight--" Ray started.
"Sure he can. Come on, tough guy." Henry challenged, getting into a fighting stance and rocking back and forth on his toes.
"Okay." That was all the criminal said, as he just put his purple helmet over Kid Danger's face and grabbed his pipe.
"Oh, this smells so bad!" Henry complained, trying to get the helmet off so he could see. Ray stood there, unimpressed and agitated, but he didn't want Henry to be hit by the metal pipe, so he grabbed two antique golf clubs from the shop wall. The man at the cash register protested at him, not wanting any more damage done to his shop.
"Kid Danger, catch this golf club!" He shouted, throwing one at Henry, but due to his inability to see, it just hit him in the face. The criminal charged forward, the metal pipe in the air, trying to hit Captain Man, who was narrowly dodging his blows.
"You're not helping me!" The owner shouted at them, as more and more antiques were destroyed. The battle resulted in nearly all the bottles on display being smashed, either from Ray and the thug missing each other with their weapons, or Henry blindly swinging his golf club around.
"Captain Man, where are you?" Henry yelled, not know what was happening.
"Follow the sound of my voice!" he told the teen, and they started to play Marco Polo in an attempt to find each other.
"Marco!"
"Polo!" They continued to smash up everything in the shop.
"Could you superheroes please just leave?!" The cashier pleaded, his whole livelihood turning to nothing on the floor, as Ray roundhouse kicked the criminal into a shelving unit. Finally being near Henry, he avoided the boy's wild swings and brought him under control, removing the helmet.
"Where is he?" said Henry, ready to keep fighting, but the bad guy was on the ground, writhing in pain.
"Did I get him?" He looked up at his boss.
"Yeah, you got him," Ray said, mostly to keep him happy.
"My whole store is destroyed!" The owner sounded distraught as he looked over the damage.
"No need to thank us." Ray smiled at him.
"Thank you?" The man replied rhetorically.
"You're welcome." Ray didn't understand that the man was upset.
"Let's go, Kid Danger." He said to Henry, ready to go back to the Man Cave and relax.
"NO! Nobody leaves until you boys clean up all of this broken glass." The owner insisted, making the superheroes turn around with surprised eyes.
"Alright." Captain Man conceded.
"But I've got to get up at 7AM tomorrow for my test at school." Henry reminded him, not liking the idea of staying up all night to clean up. His test was too important.
"This will only take us like, five hours. I'll get you a broom." Ray tried to sound positive, but it was futile. He walked to the back of the store, as Henry staggered back to the wall, already exhausted from the notion of hours more work. He slumped to the floor in defeat.
~Five hours later, Ray's PoV~
I let out a long groan as the tube dropped me back down into the Man Cave. Cleaning up at the robbed store had left me feeling drained, and I was glad to be back home. Removing my mask and rubbing my eyes, I decided it was best to forget grabbing something to eat and to just go to bed since I didn't know when the next emergency would come in.
Going through the sprocket, I walked down the corridor towards my bedroom. I slowed down as I passed by (y/n)'s room and remembered how tired she was. Without a second thought, my hand pressed the button to open the door and I poked my head in to check on her. I saw her tucked up in bed, sleeping soundly, making me release a breathy smile.
'Too cute.' I thought to myself, noticing how her chest was rising and falling in a steady rhythm. My face flushed when I realised I was staring, and I quickly retreated from her room, closing the door behind me. I walked quickly down the hall to my room and I could feel my ears burning.
'Just friends, nothing more. She's outta your league.' I said the mantra in my mind, thinking that she could never be mine. Finally, I got to my room and started to remove the super suit. I dumped it into my laundry basket, knowing that (y/n) would clean it as soon as she woke up like she always did.
Pulling on some pyjama bottoms, I made my way over to my bed and flopped down onto it, pulling the blankets over me. Sleep rapidly brought me under, and I gently drifted off to dreams of a girl with (y/c/h) hair and (y/c/e) eyes.
~Swellview High, 3rd Person PoV~
"Henry?"
"Henry." Called Miss Shapen, Henry's history teacher. She looked down at the boy, who had fallen asleep in class from fighting crime all night. Deciding that no student was going to sleep in her class, the teacher put her finger into her mouth and then into Henry's ear, giving him a wet willy. He jerked awake from the feeling and looked up to see the woman sneering down at him.
"HENRY!"
"Whoa, whoa, what happened?" He blinked through the sleep and looked around the class.
"Did you just give me a wet willy?" Henry asked in disgust.
"Mm-hmm. It was real wet." Charlotte mentioned from behind him.
"You slept through your entire test." Miss Shapen scolded him.
"I did?" Henry couldn't believe he had missed his test, as he'd not written a single thing down.
"You all see this boy? This is what happens when you stay up all night on Twitflash and Twiddlegram." The teacher said to the class, pointing at Henry.
"Excuse me, Miss Shapen?" Jasper requested from his seat near the back of the classroom.
"What?"
"Can I have a wet willy?" His question thoroughly confused her, and everyone else listening, but it was Jasper, so they all ignored how weird it was.
~Henry's house, later that night~
Henry had run upstairs to his bedroom, after getting a triple beep from Ray on his watch. He'd had to make an excuse to his family about being too tired to eat his 'chilli balls'. Locking the door, he flicked the watch open.
"Henry, why aren't you on your way here?" Holo-Ray said, confused as to why his young sidekick was still at his house.
"Because I got in trouble for sleeping in class today and I had to make chilli balls," Henry explained.
"Did he say 'chilli balls'?" He could hear (y/n) wondering in the background.
"It was my night." he replied, trying to convince them that he had been forced to make dinner for his family.
"Kid, there's been an escape from Swellview Prison. I need you." Captain Man urged him, knowing that there were dangerous criminals on the loose.
"Alright, I'll be there in 10 minutes." Henry sighed, he was way too tired to fight some bad guys, and he still needed to study for his big make-up test on Friday.
"Good, run like a bunny," Ray said, which made his best friend.
"When have you ever said that before?" She giggled, but the hologram shut off before Henry could see them argue. Closing his whiz watch, he walked to his bed and tried to clamber over it, so he could reach his gum tub on the nightstand.
"Okay, just gotta get my special gum." He said to himself, leaning across the pillows. However, the feeling of the soft mattress and fluffy pillows caused his tiredness to creep upon him. His gum tube was in hand, but the lull of the sleep he so desperately craved made him drift off, mumbling something about bunnies.
~90 minutes later~
Henry's watch was beeping like crazy, but the teen couldn't hear it from his deep sleep. He also didn't hear Captain Man climbing up to his window, even though he was banging on the glass and angrily calling his name.
"Henry, open up!" Seeing that his attempts were useless, Ray was too impatient to wait for Henry to wake up and decided to use his laser remote to shoot open the lock on the window. Sliding it open with a grunt, he rolled in and saw Henry still asleep. Feeling extremely irritated that his sidekick hadn't noticed his presence, he shut off the beeping watch from his remote control and wafted his scent over to the boy. The foul smell made the boy wake up with a scowl on his face.
"Ugh, what is that smell?" Henry asked, still not noticing Ray.
"I'm that smell!" Ray yelled at him indignantly.
"Wh-- Captain Man, what are you doing here?" He asked, shocked to see the superhero in his room.
"What are you doing here?" Ray shot back rhetorically.
"Huh?"
"I called you 90 minutes ago and I told you we had an emergency!" Ray squeaked out, the anger making his voice go high-pitched.
"R--right, I guess I fell asleep," Henry replied in a small voice.
"I guess I fell asleep" Ray mocked him in a whiny voice. Henry stepped forward and sniffed his super suit more closely, his nose wrinkling at how bad the stench was.
"Ugh, why do you stink?" His grimaced.
"I stink because I just spent the last hour chasing three criminals through the Swellview Sewer. You know what's down in the Swellview Sewer?" Ray shot back, emphasising how he had to do it alone.
"Poop?" Henry guessed in a tentative voice.
"POOP!" Ray confirmed with a shout. Suddenly, there was a bang on the door and Henry realised that Piper was trying to get in.
"Oh, my sister." He said, trying to shove Ray to the window. Piper would implode if she saw Captain Man in his room.
"We have a lot to talk about." Ray tried to say, but for a small kid, Henry was surprisingly strong and kept pushing him backwards. Not wanting to be pushed around by a child, Ray let up the ledge in Henry's room and dived out of the window onto the ground below.
"I'm okay." He shouted back up. Henry knew he wasn't hurt and went to unlock the door so he could let his sister in.
"Who were you talking to in here?" She quizzed him as soon as the door was open.
"Nobody." Henry scoffed.
"MOM!" Piper yelled in her shrill voice, wanting to get Henry in trouble.
"What is it, sweetie?" Mrs Hart appeared.
"Henry was talking to someone in his room and now he says nobody's in here." The 9-year-old snitched.
"Well, I'm sure if Henry said nobody was in here, then-- Ugh! What is that smell?" Mrs Hart's rational thinking was cut off when Ray's poop smell hit her nose.
"Uh, it's Piper. She hasn't had a bath in a week!" Henry lied, knowing it would kill two birds with one stone; it would explain the smell and get rid of his annoying sister.
"That's a lie!" Piper protested, but Mrs Hart pulled her away anyway. Hearing Piper's shrieks down the hall, Henry slammed the door shut and locked it again, glad to finally be alone. But the hand tapping on his shoulder said otherwise.
"Don't sneak up on me like that." He said to his boss.
"You disappointed me tonight," Ray said in a voice that all grownups have.
"I'm disappointing everybody. People should just call me 'Kid Disappointment." Henry whined, feeling depressed because nothing was going right for him.
"All right, well, just tell me what the problem is," Ray stated, looking up at Henry, who was now sitting on his couch by the window.
"Time, school, working for you, my family. It's just--it's a lot to handle." He admitted, which made Ray think for a moment.
"Well, giving advice is (y/n)'s strong point, but I do know a guy that could get rid of your family." He said, semi-joking.
"What?" Henry looked at him with a shocked expression.
"Kidding! I joke... I do know a guy." Ray smiled and pointed at the boy.
"Oh! I think I can fix your problem." He said suddenly, clapping his hands together.
"Really?" Henry was sceptical, but he kept listening.
"Meet me at headquarters tomorrow." Captain man said excitedly.
"I'm there." Henry agreed, but Ray got distracted by a photo on his table.
"Hey! Who's this?" He said flirtatiously.
"My mom," Henry said in disgust.
"Niiiiice. She, uh, she still married to your dad?" He said smirking, but Henry wasn't having any of it.
"Yes. Dude, don't you like (y/n)?" He said in exasperation.
"Just friends. Does she ever seem bored or lonely to y--?" Ray tried to say, but Henry felt too tired to deal with him.
"Go home, Ray." The superhero moved towards the window, the photo still in his hand.
"The picture, Ray." He took the photo back, as the superhero climbed out of his window, down the tree and subsequently, went home.
~The Man Cave, 1 hour later~
Ray shot down the tube and as he stepped out, still covered in poop, he noticed that (y/n) was sat at the computer. She was eating popcorn and laughing along to a cheesy romcom.
"Hey." She greeted him in a happy voice, but then the smell wafted to her side of the Man Cave.
"Oh my God, what is that?" She looked at him in repulsion and walked over to him so she could identify the smell. Stepping closer, she took a sniff of his suit but immediately stepped back, as Henry did earlier. Her hands snapped over her nose, trying to block out the offending odour.
"God, you smell like sh---" Her voice was muffled by her hands.
"Yes, I know. I had to climb through Swellview sewer. Alone." He said, yanking his mask off in irritation.
"Alone? Where was Henry?" Normally, (y/n) would've given him a hug, or put a comforting hand on his arm, but there was no way she was going to be near the superhero in his current state.
"Asleep! The kid fell asleep in his room and never turned up!" Ray recalled, his voice going high again.
"He did spend all of last night cleaning up with you, and he has to go to school." The young woman reasoned, knowing the superhero life was tough, especially for a young boy.
"He really let me down tonight," Ray muttered, walking to the couch to sit down, but (y/n) hastily shooed him away.
"Don't touch anything! Get that suit off and go get cleaned up!" She scolded him, pointing to where the showers were.
"Oh, and don't give Henry a hard time. All teenagers have a lot going on, and he's now a superhero. You should understand how hard that is." Her voice was soft, but the look in her eyes left no room for an argument, so Ray just whined and went up to the sprocket.
"He's coming over tomorrow, I've got a plan." Ray said, walking down the corridor, leaving the girl alone.
'Not another plan.' (y/n) rolled her eyes, wondering what tomorrow would bring.
~The next day~
(y/n) stood with a brain scanner in her hand, and she was busy using it on Henry's head, who was looking uncomfortable with the situation.
"Um, what's that thing doing?" He asked her, not knowing what was going on.
"Scanning your brain," she said, smiling so it sounded like a good thing.
"Oh, cool." The boy replied, seemingly impressed.
"Take a deep breath for me." The young woman instructed, switching sides so she could scan the other part of his head.
"Now go, oodle, oodle, oodle." She said, just wanting to see if Henry would do it.
"Oodle, oodle, oodle." Henry mimicked the noises she made, which resulted in (y/n) giggling.
"You're off-key. It's oodle, oodle, oodle, oodle." They started to do it at the same time, laughing alone with each other.
"Why are we doing this?" Henry asked.
"Relax, kid," Ray said, coming out of the door near the auto-snacker.
"I can't. I got a huge makeup test tomorrow and I gotta study, and (y/n)'s making me go oodle, oodle, oodle." Henry explained, feeling agitated from the weird stuff he had to do and from the stress of his upcoming test.
"You're still not doing it right." She said in a flat tone.
"I don't care! I don't have time to relax!" Henry shouted back.
"Exactly! Your only problem is a lack of time." Ray said mysteriously, making Henry look to the left in thought.
"Imagine if you could do all you studying for school in only 30 seconds." (y/n) proposed.
"How can I learn anything in 30 seconds?" Henry wondered, not understanding the correlation.
"With this. The cerebral data transducer, or as we call it, the H.R.Z" Ray lifted up a technical-looking helmet that was connected to a long wire.
"This device can transfer knowledge from a data source directly into your brain, at 90 million digibles per second." The young woman explained the science, briefly looking up from the controls.
"Why am I locked in a chair?" Henry queried.
"Do you wanna get a good grade on your Puerto Rican math test?" Ray asked him.
"History." His sidekick corrected.
"Same thing." Ray's short answer made his best friend laugh.
"Right, let's do this thing." (y/n) said, and Ray placed the helmet on Henry's head, making it flash and beep.
"Now, I'll just set the computer to acquire all the world's historical knowledge on Puerto Rico," Ray said, reaching past (y/n) who was fixing the cable
"Woah, intense. But, uh, will this hurt?" Henry asked, his heart thumping loudly in his ears.
"Yeah, a lot." There's no point in lying to him.' The girl thought, as she turned up the power with Ray. They each ran over to the controls, and both pulled down a lever, starting the extremely painful process.
"Wait, so, how will I know--?" Henry started, but the rush of information flooding into his mind made him cry out in agony. The two grown-ups with him could only look on and hope it would work.
"Just enjoy it!" The superhero tried to encourage, but Henry couldn't hear him over his screaming.
"Does that look enjoyable to you?" (y/n) looked at him with lifted eyebrows. Henry was kicking his legs out and his knuckles were clenched white on the armrests, making Ray and (y/n) grimace at the sight of him. However, Ray being childish, made a begrudging (y/n) take a picture of him smiling and giving a thumbs-up next to Henry and the machine.
They brought the power back down as the process was complete, and the 13-year-old slumped back down into the chair, the pain slowly releasing from his body. Each taking a side of the H.R.Z, (y/n) and Ray unscrewed the locks and took it off him, noticing how traumatised he looked.
"Well?" Ray looked down at him.
"That hurt badddd." Henry clarified, the fear still evident in his eyes.
"Sorry about that, but now, tell me everything you know about Puerto Rico." (y/n) smiled at him from the other side of the chair.
"I don't know anything about-- Puerto Rico is a series of islands with a landmass of 3,500 square miles and a population of 3.6 million people. Its glorious beaches and lush rainforests make it the perfect setting for a wedding, bar mitzvah, or growing bananas." Henry recited the information, making the two friends behind him nod at each other, pleased with their success.
"Whoaaaa. I know Puerto Rico." Henry looked at both of them in awe.
"Yeah, you do." (y/n) nodded with him.
"You see? You can learn anything you need to know for school in a matter of seconds." Ray said, putting the H.R.Z back.
"Yeah. Wait, do you think that's cheating?" Henry asked them in an unsure voice.
"Eh... no, not really."
"It's a grey area. No one will ever know." They reassured him.
"I guess. Anyway, I really doing this appreciate you for me." Henry tried to speak, but all his words came out in the wrong order.
"Oh sweet cheese, the side effects." (y/n) facepalmed.
"What side effects?" Henry looked petrified.
"Y'see, after you use the H.R.Z, when you talk, you might mix up your words for a few days," Ray said, looking sheepish.
"Well, you could have before that you told me." Henry jumbled out, not really making much sense.
"Look at it this way, now, you're gonna do well on your test." (y/n) said to cheer him up. Henry perked up a bit, but then let out a loud, girly shriek. He looked a Ray in fright, as (y/n) grinned at the outburst.
"Why did I just--" he began.
"Another side effect." The woman said tentatively.
"Sometimes you'll scream like--" Henry cut him off with another screech.
"--a girl." Ray finished.
"Just for a few days, no biggie." (y/n) was also trying to convince herself that everything would be okay.
"Oh, so I'm a girl like a days for a few screams. Wait." The word mixing was back. And then, Henry released another ear-shattering shout.
"You guys wanna get lunch?" Ray said to distract them all from Henry's problem.
"Yeah." (y/n) quickly agreed, walking over to the snack machine with Ray, who wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"What?" Henry just looked at them, as they walked away from his issues.
~Henry's school~
Henry was concentrating on the history lecture Miss Shapen was giving, ensuring he wrote down everything she said. He had just finished his sentence, when the bell rang, symbolising the end of the lesson.
"Okay, everyone, get out." Miss Shapen didn't have much love for her students.
"Henry, may I see you?" She called out to the boy, who was hoping he hadn't done something wrong.
"Yeah sure. What's up?" He slung his backpack over his shoulder and went over to her desk. Charlotte decided to wait for him at the door. His teacher looked at him with a proud smile.
"Your grade." She said, passing him his test.
"100, I makeup test on my got?" Henry said, all in the wrong order.
"I mean, I got 100 on my makeup test?" Henry quickly corrected himself, before Miss Shapen was too weirded out.
"You answered every question perfectly." She complimented him.
"Awesome." Henry smiled before he let out one of his girl screams.
"That was inappropriate." Miss Shapen and Charlotte stared at him with a concerned face.
"I just got excited." Henry tried to explain.
"I'm proud of you Henry, I'd give you a hug if it wouldn't get me fired." His teacher gave him a rare compliment.
"Thanks."
"Have a good weekend." That was all Miss Shapen said.
"Too you." Henry shook his head at his incorrect words but resumed walking to Charlotte by the door, who congratulated him on his result.
"Where were you yesterday? You weren't in class." Dang, Charlotte was too smart for her own good.
"I go to had somewhere." He lied, confusing his friend.
"One more time?" She requested,
"I had... to go somewhere. Nailed it!" Henry spoke slowly, so he could speak correctly. He was glad he managed to say something right until he shrieked. Again. Charlotte jumped back from him.
"You later see." He quickly left the classroom, not wanting to do anything else odd, leaving Charlotte utterly confused as he let out more screams in the hall.

My BoB ships ranking
(as encouraged by @sleepy-hyperfixations - thanks!)
i have thought about this from all sides to find a criteria and then i decided it probably comes down to which ships make me feel a particular way about them or spark thoughts, curiosity, creativity, and i found a compromise between the two things^^
so, here's what i come up with:
1. winnix - aka the pinnacle of ships, the Relationship Goals™ that i can't even bring myself to read much for because it stirs some deep deep nostalgia for what i've never had... but they've been for me the stamp of true love ever since i saw the show...
1. webgott - a ship that to me is almost too emotional to think about because either way you turn it around, it is always so painful (but so meant to be as well). but also: sizzling, fiery dynamics, so much depth to dive into, ahh they're everything...
3. now, here i am, shamelessly putting on the pedestal what i believe is a figment of my imagination, as i have never seen it anywhere (if anyone has, pretty please let me know^^) but it owns a chunk of my heart, and it is smokey gordon/alton more (what would that make them? smore? idek anymore... what even is my life…) i could write an essay but i'll keep it lowkey and say (affectionately): how have you people not seen it? they sooo had a thing, and a tad complicated, repressed, emotionally constipated but passionate one for that matter…
on shared 3th, because *shielding my eyes from the first two places* i will however die on rarepair hill, is speirsroe - it makes so much sense if you stop to look for a while and i love to do so. many feelings abt those two.
4. luztoye  - i wanted to put them higher, actually, bcs i am biased, bcs they are my flagship (that currently is like, adrift and half sunken but i'll pull it back afloat just like i will do myself) but alas, they're here. yes, i acknowledge that it is a ship standing on pillars of quite dry sand of two (2) interactions in the whole show lol, but the possibilities it offers to explore the personalities are vast and interesting...
5. speirton, bull/martin - are here in the ranking because i totally get the appeal and the dynamic and they are sort of "comfort ships" to me? like, an... angst-proofish certainty but just... never say never, but for the moment not quite on top of my list^^
6. quite the same for baberoe, placed here because it's an integral part of the fandom and i have all the respect but i'm sorry, i just can't see it, no matter how hard i squint...
ALSO, there is speirs/nix out there somewhere, but i can't for the life of me rank it, it just exists in my subconscious, intriguing and sadly underdeveloped, and i just wanted the world to know, because i think they are a gem full of potential^^
...'aight, i can't seem to think of other ships, so... i guess this is it^^ if you have any thoughts or your own rankings i'd love to know <3

maybe a little something about them having a fight, so he storms out of her dorm to sleep in his own for the night, but she has a nightmare or it’s storming, so she’s crawling her way into his bed, and he’s stuck really mad at her but he just can’t say no
oh this is good.
they're not even too sure how it started, but gabe and amelia have been going back and forth in an argument for a half hour now.
one minute they were picking out meels semi dress for her sorority and the next gabe was pacing around her bedroom with his arms crossed and a constant roll to his eyes.
"you're just so fucking unhelpful!" amelia raised her voice as she yanked her shoes off and kicked them aside.
"HOW?! i sat in the dressing room with you for an hour while you threw a fit about how nothing looked good on you, when every single one you tried on looked fine and i told you that! not only that, but i sat with you looking on lulu's for another hour last night and you couldn't make up your mind! it's not that big of a deal meels, just pick something and stop caring so much!"
"NO you sat in the dressing room and gave me one word responses and head nods to every single dress i tried on! that is NOT being helpful! it is a big deal, this is my sophomore year semi and to me it is a big deal! and i'd like it if my date helped me out a bit instead of sitting uninterestedly on his phone. sorry i'm worried about finding a dress for it and am not constantly worried about a ball and a stick."
gabe gave her a look and said, "a puck. a puck and a stick, not a damn ball."
"i literally do not care." she huffed, crossing her arms and sitting on her bed.
gabe clicked his tongue before saying, "alright, well when you wanna get rid of the attitude and stop coming for my throat over nonsense, give me a call. i'm staying at my place tonight."
"fine by me, i'll be here for when you wanna apologize."
gabe laughed and said, "i don't have jack shit to apologize for amelia, you won't be getting any of that from me." before walking out of her room and slamming the door.
gabe was pissed off.
amelia was pissed off.
and neither of them said a word to each other for the rest of the evening.
amelia had no plans to strut over to gabes apartment and dish out an apology or even see him; that was, until a loud crack of thunder woke amelia up around 1 am, and she couldn't fall back asleep after that.
thunder.
loud noises.
no no's for amelia.
she had always been scared of thunder, and every single night it stormed since she started dating gabe she spent with him to comfort her.
she couldn't help but want to jump out of bed right now and run to him because she was scared.
but she wouldn't.
she was gonna stay strong and not-
*loud thunder*
yep nope never mind, she's getting her shoes on as we speak!
"for fucks sake." she said as she scrambled around her room, growing more anxious with every loud sound that erupted from the sky.
she hopped in her car and within minutes was using her key to gabes apartment to let herself in. she slipped her shoes off by the front door before rushing to his room.
she opened his bedroom door and as she assumed, he was fast asleep.
she almost wanted to be hurt that, despite them being in an argument, he didn't text her to make sure she was okay because of the thunder. however, when she saw his sleepy state, she was 100% sure the storm hadn't even come close to waking him up.
amelia hated being the first one to crumble after an argument, but she didn't care right now. she was scared, and she needed gabe.
lifting up his comforter, she crawled in next to him and nuzzled into his side. when she lifted his arm to go under it, he began to stir awake.
it didn't take him long to realize who was in his bed, and he huffed when he knew.
"amelia?" he groggily asked.
amelia was quiet for a moment before saying, "it's thundering..."
gabe sighed and rubbed a hand over his tired eyes.
"can i please, please sleep here? the storm woke me up and i couldn't fall back asleep. i tried, i did, but i'm scared.."
no matter how annoyed he was at amelia, gabe would never deny her comfort when she's scared or uncomfortable. at the end of the day, they are going to make up and it's his job to make her feel safe.
"yes baby, you can sleep here. come here." he said as he flipped her around so he was spooning her from behind, wrapping an arm tightly around her waist.
they spoke not a word more as they laid together. they were both almost asleep when a loud crack of thunder sounded, causing amelia to jolt under gabes arm.
he pulled her closer to him, whispering an, "i've got you." before kissing the back of her shoulder.
she put her hand on top of his hand that was around her waist and held onto it.
when the morning came, the couple were still in their spooning position.
gabe pulled amelia closer to him as he woke up, a habit he's used to doing when they sleep together and spoon.
"you awake?" he asked in his morning voice.
"mmhmm." amelia mumbled.
gabe sat up a bit and moved some hair out of her face before kissing her cheek and asking, "are you okay?"
amelia rolled over so she was looking up at him and nodded her head.
"you know me and thunder.." she whispered.
gabe nodded as he rubbed his thumb along her cheek. "i know."
she gave him a weak smile and stuck her bottom lip out a bit as she said, "i will admit i was being a bit of a brat yesterday.."
gabe chuckled as he said, "a little?"
"watch it, perreault. you weren't exactly being an angel either. we were both in the wrong."
gabe nodded his head a bit as he said, "i can agree to that. i wouldn't have let you in my bed if i didn't feel a little bad about it all." he joked.
amelia brought her hand up and playfully shoved his face away before saying, "yeah yeah, sure."
gabe pulled her back in, placing a kiss on her neck and cuddling back into her.
"kidding baby, you know you can always come to me when you're scared."
amelia smiled to herself. "i know."
