UNTITLED EVIL LUIGI AU COMIC THING | Page 2 & 3 of (???)

Eggman Bowser’s come to make an announcement. Particularly to shut down any premonitions Mario may be holding onto a little too tightly. Bowser and Mario are able to set aside their differences (for now, at least) so that they can work together on a common goal-- figuring out where the hell Luigi is.

believe me when i say i really wanted to link all the pages together in a neat, practical way so that everything would appear more organized than it actually is, but tumblr hates me and won’t let my posts show up in the tags if i include a hyperlink of any kind. :D

i read somewhere that tumblr only disallows posts from showing up in tags if it includes an external link (vs an internal/link to another tumblr page), which, in theory, shouldnt be an issue since the pages i’d be linking to are also on tumblr but regardless it’s not cooperating with me anyway. i’ve been on tumblr for what feels like a million years but this is the first time ive tried to make my posts cohesive like this so if anyone knows how to fix this issue im all ears 🙃 for the record, everything related to this au will be going into the following tags on my blog: #my art, and #evil luigi au. we’ll just have to sort things that way for now, i guess 😭

i start work tomorrow so can’t say when there will be a new page but i do have a lot planned out already. so hopefully i’ll be able to continue what ive started for at least a handful of more pages 🤠 next page will be fun to work on. for a bowuigi-centered story, where’s the luigi?! he’ll show up soon. just in the form of a flashback for now though 👀

also sorry if my handwriting is evil. it’s just personally easier/faster to write out everything by hand than type everything out but i may try to type the next page’s dialogue to see how it goes and to see if it makes things look ✨cleaner✨

I always get a bad taste in my mouth whenever I see comics of ppl not only depicting Mario being a bad or inconsiderate supportive brother (though I mainly see that last one when it comes to ppl shipping Bowuigi) but that Luigi is unhappy being around his brother, is jealous of Mario, and worse wanting to abandon Mario. And I honestly dislike that theory/trope I see in certain fan comics. It makes me uncomfortable.

It’s why I love the movie so so much cuz it leaves no room for that. The movie point blank shows us that not to be the case. They support one another, Mario is literally always there for Luigi, protecting him and is there for him. He went through so much just to be reunited with his brother. And his reaction alone when they were reunited is enough to show how much Mario loves Luigi. Meanwhile there is not a ounce of jealousy, envy or a hint that Luigi is unhappy being with and around Mario, if anything he’s the one that’s the most supportive of his brothers dreams and aspirations cuz he also has the same dreams and aspirations himself.

He’s not jealous of Mario, he’s his brothers biggest fan and vice versa with Mario. They love and support each and I find that so beautiful and just a breathe of air considering that there were sooo many people saying that Mario was an awful brother and that Luigi was unhappy being around him. Because why would we want that? They are called the Mario Bros for a reason, why would we want them to hate and be inconsiderate and be unhappy around the other?

Sure they may have disagreements but I feel that even those wouldn’t be that serious and if they were they would be about the others safety/something they would talk about and that would develop in a fight. They love the other too much to ever actually fight and be verbally angry at each other.

If there was ever a point that they actually did have a real fight rather than a simple disagreement, then– like you said– it would stem from a life or death situation: Mario being worried for his brother... Luigi wanting to support and protect his sibling despite the danger... and a fear of losing one another. But even then I have trouble seeing an argument between them getting too serious. At the end of the day, Mario and Luigi seem to mutually understand that they are strongest when they are together. The writers of The Mario Movie really saw all the weird Matt Patt theories and "Luigi is jealous" speculation, and said "Not only are Mario and Luigi not at odds with one another, but they are each other's greatest source of peace and happiness."

"We're going to make the first scene with them chock full of physical and verbal affection. We're going to hammer home just how much protecting his brother means to Mario, and how much Luigi supports his sibling to hell and back. We're going to make Mario's biggest point of upset come from being accused of bringing his brother down. We're going to make Luigi's greatest impulse amidst the fear and pain of an interrogation to hype his brother up. We're going to establish that Mario and Luigi have never been willingly parted for longer than a day. We're going to make the driving force of the story how much they want to be reunited. We're going to make 'nothing can hurt us as long as we're together' their motto. We're going to make their brotherhood the heart of this film" and by God it is glorious!

Hello, first Bowuigi post here lol.

After watching the movie my bowuigi inner shipper is happy because of different reasons.

Attention Mario Movie Spoilers!!!!

Yes, there's just one scene featuring Bowser & Luigi and sadly is the one of the trailers. But we have a whole scene were Bowser interrogates Luigi. And come on, we all have seen that (and is the reason why the ship has blown these past weeks). I've seen ships with less than that.

Luigi is now living on the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser is locked on the castle. I can already see the fanfics

Yeah Bowser is OBSESSED with Peach, but that's the way it is. Also know that Bowuigi started mostly because a comic were Luigi dresses up as Peach because Bowser loved her. I'll leave that there

It's the beginning of the franchise. I'm convinced that this won't be the last Mario Bros movie. So there's hope for new interactions between the characters in the future

So in-between my Bowuigi comic I'm going to work on a bit of a self indulgent comic. Not sure if I will post it or not because it's niche as hell. But I have an idea for a very short sidlink comic of just a single scenario that's stuck playing on loop in my head lmao.

Plus I wanna see how well I can draw Zoras lmao. I think working on a side project will also help me avoid burn out with how fast and consistent I'm getting updates out for my bowuigi comic. As for the bowuigi comic I should have the next update out before end of June, probably sooner than later if I stick to my current drawing schedule.

i know ive sent an ask before, but i just have to send one again after reading the epilogue.

i’ve been here since the comic started, and it’s been such a thrilling adventure to follow this incredible story you’ve made for them. the characters have so much depth, they act so human, and i feel like thats an important key that a lot of artists miss about their favorite characters.

it’s been amazing to watch how your art style developed too, how it changed, improved, and fit so well as the story went on. your work with displaying emotions is amazing. i love how you draw them, as well as writing emotion! the text bubbles, different fonts, i could hear the emotion in their voices in my head as i read it.

this story was genuinely such a rollercoaster of emotion and i couldn’t ever stop reading. i think i’ll forever read it once or twice a year as i remember it, LOL. i know it’s silly to some people to be so emotional over some webcomic about a super mario ship, but i loved every bit of this. i’ve smiled, cried, yelled, and rolled my eyes over this comic.

i’m sad to see it end, but at the same time, i’m glad you’ve finally finished it and you have a break from the work it takes. and trust me, i know it’s a lot! i’ve had many failed comic attempts in my art history.

the epilogue was completely phenomenal, and i do hope we see some more art of them from this little comic universe! even if it isn’t big, fancy, colored work. i just hope we see some more of them every now and then!

So often when working on this comic I was worried that the characters weren't behaving realistically. I wasn't so much worried about accurately portraying their in-canon personalities, but I at most wanted to make their personalities and reactions believable. I'm so glad that could come across.

Watching my own style change and adapt has also built my confidence in my artistic abilities. I know what I'm capable of and I have a better understanding of where my limits are when it comes to drawing for hours (or days) on end.

For me it's a huge relief to see it end, both because it's a huge truckload of work off my shoulders and because the story gets to actually have an ending. I know there were serious times were I thought about abandoning this story and I'm so glad I was able to push myself through those breaking points and bring this story to a conclusion that I'm immensely satisfied with and exactly as I envisioned.

You will most likely see bits and pieces here and there of this version of the bowuigi gang, but I can firmly say that this is where the main story ends.

Explaining that in depth!

So, as you can tell, some things can't exist without the other. For example, you need Lana and Lucy to get to New ghoul in school. You need How the Witch got her warts to get to the Jimmy Diaries and The Pufnstuf CW.

How does this world work?

Well, about 601 years ago, there were to separate universes. But, one day, they just kind of blobbed together like two drops of water. One universe is the one we know and love, the other is... well, there are many different dragons, sea monsters, more then one group of Mushroom people, hat people, bug people, and everything in between.

Some things from this new universe leaked into ours, and vice-versa. Notable examples include, sea monsters, turtles, mushrooms, and magic. Where as we gave this new world humans.

People started worshipping turtles. Why? Because they thought the glass walls (the rifts) were a sign from God. And since the turtles came from the glass walls, they thought they were holy as well.

Well, what do you get when you toss magic and humans into a blender? You get Magical people! And turtles, and dragons, and I think mushroom people?

Earth gets so many magical people that it opens a school for them in the late 1800's. In 1910, there are three students that are going to change history. Witchiepoo, HooDoo, and Benita. They all were born in the magical world.
