The only reason Astra Shepard doesn't kill Gavin Archer at the end of Overlord is because David would be forced to watch. She realizes that if Gavin was the only survivor when the VI went insane, that probably means David still cares for his brother in some capacity. David can't even close his eyes when they free him from the VI, they're being forced open. As much as she despises Gavin, she can't force David to watch him die, so he gets to go "free" for now.

Similar reasoning is why she doesn't kill him when they meet again in 3 on Gellix. If she kills him there, the scientists she's trying to save will understandably freak out and probably not trust them anymore, and she couldn't fault them for it.

To be honest, I don't even think Astra would tell Gavin that Grissom Academy was successfully evacuated; as far as she's concerned, Gavin lost any right to care about David after he forced him into that experiment. It's probably one of Ashley or James, neither of whom know exactly what Overlord was, that says the station was evacuated, but even they would refuse to give him any further detail, realizing that if Astra hates someone that much there's definitely a reason for it.

Also, while she's not going to stop him from helping with the Crucible because they need anyone they can get, Astra does tell the Alliance what he did. Post war, unlike some other ex-Cerberus scientists (such as Miranda and Brynn Cole), Gavin is still barred from enlisting in the Alliance or working for them in a civilian role.

Astra is usually willing to give someone a second chance. That doesn't mean she'll forgive someone for doing something completely monstrous with their first chance.

Does anyone remember that ONE Captain Underpants book where George and Harold messed with fucking time travel and met their future selves who were married with kids and had successful careers as comic book creators or was that a fever dream?

I like to imagine that in the canon universe the new Dog Man movie was initially drafted and submitted by George and Harold as a concept, thinking it wouldn’t be accepted but wanting to give it a shot anyways.

⬇️ This was the wildest thing ever to my 11 year old brain btw. So wild that I didn’t even register that Harold is canonically gay.

You cannot be a perfectionist'.#Right now - posting these slightly upgraded frames is really helping me stay motivated through the learning grind.#But progress is happening! I'm so excited to show it off when it's done!#Someone with a very discerning eye might be able to figure out what I'm doing with just this one frame. I will take the risk.#That aside; I often think about how the nature of cultivators in MDZS's world also entailed knowing about other art forms.#Meaning that Wen Qing and Wen Ning likely were good musicians and artists.#We know WWX is also good in art and music so...really...what was stopping them from forming a band?#Allow me to pitch this AU: Yiling Opera company AU. WWX and the Wen remnants form a performing trope and tour towns and cities.#Not only do they find a way to keep on the move (no home...only the road and the people around you).#But you also get to be in costume - which is a socially appropriate way to always be in disguise.#Yiling Laozu would thus be a character and/or WWX's stage name.#Would he be good at keeping it a secret? Hard to say with WWX! I think it would be a poorly-kept secret at best.#He likes to brag and show off a bit too much. This many would be either the worst or best spy.#Consider the drama of JC losing his mind over his ex-brother becoming a clown. Imagine JC Getting his ass kicked by said clown.#Imagine the delectable secret identity drama potential of Lan Wangji stumbling upon the trope's performances.#We did not get nearly enough of the secret identiy drama in MDZS canon.
