“No one is getting into trouble,” Splinter said before the argument could devolve any farther.

“But dad-” Raph tried to protest, but Splinter continued.

“It was necessary, wasn’t it?” Splinter asked, turning his attention away from his show.

Leo blinked.

“What?”

“The operation. It was necessary?” Splinter asked again. “I highly doubt you would done so if it wasn’t.”

“Yeah, it was,” Leo answered. “The arms were stuck under the bridge of his shell. He was in a lot of pain.”

“Why didn’t you come get me?” Splinter asked, sounding both upset and somehow resigned. “I would have helped.”

“I had April. I was fine,” Leo shrugged, not looking at him anymore. “We didn’t exactly have time to spare. Especially if I was just going to end up doing it anyways.”
