fave thing to watch out for in each episode is the classic stark "wolf-attack!"-to-assert-my-dominance maneuver.

I miss his iconic boots
Damian without his knee-high lace-up boots is like Jason without a red helmet or Nightwing without any blue in his suit

On the left is the werewolf...do I actually need to explain what a werewolf is? Can be a wolf, a person, or a larger wolf person. Normal people, but with the constant undercurrent urge to go wild. Look, all the writers do is rant about "it could be evil or maybe not OR MAYBE SOMETIMES." because they, like me, know you know what this is.
A person-sized wind elemental that's invisible outside slight visual distortion like a heat haze. To the point that the early editions just had a blank space for thier picture! Issue is that we don't actually know anything about them on thier home plane, being invisible air in an endless sky. Like yeah, they're told to kill and steal when they're forced to be here, but we only really know two things about them. They would rather be home than here, and they hate these mages who keep forcing them to be here instead of home.
so yeah. werewolf or angry wind?

its hard to overstate how deeply fucking revolutionary it was for me to read a wizard of earthsea at the tender age of eleven. to be told, as a tween just beginning to reconvert and unpack the trauma of Christianity and years of abuse, that the darkness inside you is not a personal failing that you forever have to fight against to be a good person, but in fact is essential. that you need it to be whole. to read about a character fighting his shadow--the embodiment of evil--for years, just like I was taught to, only to finally, at the edge of the world, meet it and embrace it and call it by his own name. words cannot express how grateful I am to ursula k leguin for that. the world is truly a darker place without her

From a meta perspective bolas team did a perfect job in becoming the most popular team and marketing (whether intentionally or not). like its quite impressive to see:
they set themselves up as underdogs day 1
they had a fun insane behavior thing that people were attached to
they had awesome imagery with the gas masks and being red
they had a group of ccs who were very close to each other beforehand and had great dynamics and were great at rp
They streamed all together at the same time
I have to say they did a great job at making themselves seem like the better team and painted blue as the enemy (like its fair of them to have done but anyone can say some of their comments were kinda biased)
the BOLAS chants are peak way to rally people together
Had the advantage of bigger ccs with intesne fanbases
the rivalry with bbh was also fun to see
they were sometimes the targets and victims and losing (highlight sometimes, they were not weak, they won a lot) and did a great job and focusing on that and using it as fuel
In the end they were great at what they did, too good at it, which caused the fanbase to be super biased towards them and some elements of it was what caused so much drama.
New ccs: please be worse at marketing for our sanity

Meet Miss Earth - Alias Graham Hill, the Grand Prix race driver
The straits times, 4th December 1966
Tumblr media
There was a roar of applause from the 400 guests at London's exclusive park lane hotel as the first contestants in the latest beauty contest - Miss Earth 1966 - entered the hallroom.
Swaying rhythmically to the background music, and dressed in a swim suit that left little to the imagination, the face of Grand Prix racing driver Peter Arundel went almost unrecognised under a mass of flowing hair.
It was all part of a fund-raising takeoff of the rash of beauty contests that have become so much a part of the London scene.
With all profits going to charity, contestants include ex-world champion Graham Hill, racing drivers Nick Brittan, Harry Stiller, Peter Gethin, ex-driver Les Leston and West Essex Car Club offical, John Trimble.
All were in fetching swimsuits and long wigs to carry the charade further, and the contestants started with them parading around the ballroom to jeers, cheers, shouts and hoots of the audience.
Next they paraded in line for the judges - rally driver Rosemary Smith, Nick Brittan's wife, Jenny, and West Essex Club Secretary's wife, Barbara Greenway.
The judge's work was made more difficult as the contestants began to douse one another with soda siphones. But eventually, Graham Hill was declared the winner and crowned Miss Earth by Rosemary Smith. He then posed triumphantly on the table booked for the honourable Gerald Lascelles, Royal racing fan.
