Wait I always thought "outrage is not activism" meant like, that outrage on its own won't change the status quo because we also need protests, direct action etc, like as a criticism of slacktivism. But ppl use it to mean "if you wanna change the status quo you can't be outraged"?? Oh man fuck those ppl, that's the stupidest attitude ever!! "Misogynist pretending he's winning an argument about feminism with a woman because she let her voice show emotion" core
The first way you said it is not wrong. But people will often use it towards or about bloggers of color to microaggressively say that "oh you're online complaining but you're not doing anything" and it's like... 1) I have the right to do that, it's my fucking online blog, 2) I'm DEALING WITH RACISM, so yeah I can be mad all I want, and 3) just bc YOU don't know what I do with my time, doesn't mean that EYE'M not doing shit!
So yes, it can be a criticism of "slacktivism", but when you're walking into someone's space (where You Too don't do shit but complain and expect people to pity your circumstances), and accuse them of not doing anything about their oppression (that YOU aid in, btw!)... It means you think that they're "being too aggressive". It's a really roundabout annoyingly performative way of saying "why are you so angry?" When they need to Quit wasting my ttiiiiiiiiiime 😂😭

The Failure of Ted Lasso's Unconventional Politics
SOCIAL CONDITIONING:
According to Brendan Hunt, shippers interested in a second chance, mature-age romance between Ted and Rebecca were being blindly, un-self-reflexively led about by their “social conditioning”. Presumably, however, the writers who wrote Ted returning to his heteronormative family unit – as well as all the viewers who enjoyed this ending and have defended it since – are completely free of social conditioning? No social conditioning is involved in reifying the white heterosexual family unit? No social conditioning is involved in deifying parenthood, fatherhood and patriarchy at the cost of all else? There is no social conditioning involved in a conclusion that values good ole working class Americana while rejecting the big, queer, complicated, multicultural world?
KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid):
If the creators wanted to gesture to “Cheers” as a classic American sitcom, then at least learn from its example. This show worked best when it worked with familiar, beloved characters in a familiar, beloved, but confined setting. "Ted Lasso" had a near-perfect first act, doing a simple thing well. But from s2 onward, the show started straying out of bounds. The cast of characters kept expanding and contracting: people were in, people were out, characters were coming and going and changing (what was the point of that whole Zava plotline?). We had multiple workplaces and workplace dramas (grew to like Barbara tho). Episodes got long and unwieldy. Themes got convoluted as the show took a long trip, imo, up its own arse. The folksy wisdom of s1 became grating self-indulgence and cliched “moment” manufacturing.
SUPERFICIAL UNCONVENTIONALITY:
TL employed a familiar 3-part structure but ultimately its supposedly radical, unconventional politics was not reflected in the show’s structure. Since the first act started with Ted's arrival, you could see his departure coming from a mile off. Some folks are acting like returning Ted home constitutes some super brave move by the writers that we've never seen before. But if you want to talk social conditioning expressed through narrative expectation then you really couldn't get anything more conventional than this ending.
We've seen it all before:
Act I: Fish-out-of-Water character arrives and begins winning over a dubious, dysfunctional community Act II: Bonding, hijinks, missteps, complications and development Act III: Revelations of growth. Community sadly waves goodbye to teacher they love but no longer need. Cue credits with moving song choice.
It's as cliche, conventional and predictable as it gets. And I could condescendingly accuse every viewer who enjoyed this ending as being blindly and un-self-reflexively led around by their social conditioning. But even if I'm not one of the showrunners who also played a beloved character and who is speaking on a public forum, that would be a pretty fucking shitty move. What I am saying is that the disagreement over this ending speaks to some core ideological differences currently playing out across the globe around patriarchy, feminism, queerness and privilege. There is an opportunity here to examine what we socioculturally view as “good’ and “right” and “happy”. These ideas of good, right and happy are not necessarily benign and will be inevitably reflected in and reproduced by our art.
PATRIARCHY:
In the end, “Ted Lasso” literally chose patriarchy (but what kind is the question). Just because this show was working with a familiar 3-part structure, that doesn't mean it didn't need to justify Ted's inevitable departure. For many people, his son is enough. That's it. End of conversation. Henry trumps all. And yes, this was always going to be the justification used by the series. But I think this disagreement highlights changing attitudes to modern parenting. Everyone agrees that parenting requires sacrifice: large and small, everyday and lifelong. But how much sacrifice is too much?
For some people, this was too much sacrifice. Others seem to think it was Ted's duty to sacrifice for his son his own sense of family and community, his continued health and growth, his professional fulfilment. Imo, he could have shared all of this with him but chose old-school parental sacrifice instead. I consider this kind of sacrifice to be something that culturally we’re coming to recognise as unhealthy, for both parent and child. In reality, parents are more than one thing. Parents have jobs, interests, relationships, needs, limitations and struggles. Parents are people.
In the series, Ted was established as a person: a person with a sad past, a tortured inner world, a strong desire to connect with others and, potentially, a brighter future than his past. From the beginning, his relationship with Michelle was established (and often reinforced) as over, dead, absolutely no route back in. But his relationship with his son was loving and important to him. Of course it was. He’d be a bad man and unlikeable character if it wasn’t. Even so, Henry isn’t a major or fully realised character in this show. We care about him, relate to him through Ted. He matters to us because he matters to Ted. But frankly, we are far more attached to Ted’s other adopted “children”, the relationships we have watched him develop over 3 years, than the relationship we only saw glimpses of. That’s just narrative reality. In reality, yes, Henry would and should be Ted’s first priority. This is only right. In fiction, the team at Richmond should have been the first priority of Jason and the rest of the writing team. They are the ones we want to see and want to see happy and settled.
As many frustrated viewers have stated, it's not Ted's departure that is so disheartening but how it was done. If the TL team wanted to make this choice seem like a healthy one for Ted then they needed to establish other things waiting for him in Kansas: friends, community, employment, fulfillment. As it was, literally nothing tipped the scales in favour of Kansas. There were no romantic, community or larger familial relationships to get back to. Far too much was just left to inference or imagination. Yes, we can assume that Ted has community in Kansas, that he will probably get a great job after his success in Richmond. But all the people and opportunities we would like to infer/imagine will never tip the balance towards Kansas when we consider all we KNOW is already established for him in Richmond. The homeworld and beloved characters of a show will always hold more emotional weight than anything undefined and hypothetical. If viewers were to be happy with Ted’s exit then the writers needed to take the time to lovingly define his future away from the club.
Instead, it seems like a deliberate choice to shut Ted down and perform (and I do mean “perform”) this marvelous sacrifice for his son that so many think is admirable. It’s this shutdown that is so inconsistent and confusing. Because at any time in the hour, Ted could have said to Rebecca, the Diamond Dogs and/or his team:
“Look y'all this ain't the end. We’re family now. I'll be back. I'll show y'all round Kansas anytime you wanna visit. My mom will cook a dinner that will clog your arteries. And every so often, what say we do a long-distance movie night, huh? I'll miss you all but I’ll be watching every game and I can't wait to come back and see you win the whole fucking thing!!”
Ted could have been a model of honest, expressive, emotionally forthcoming, relationship-maintaining masculinity. But nope. Not a word. Just brave male sacrifice. It's straight up patriarchal propaganda. And truth is, fathers sacrifice way less than mothers do in heterosexual parenting relationships. Mothers are generally the ones making those small, everyday sacrifices that our society rarely acknowledges or admires. But I bet this ending makes all those lazy husbands and boyfriends feel real good about themselves. I bet it makes many female partners feel all warm and fuzzy to know that even though their kids’ father won't share half the labour that goes into raising a child, when it comes time for him to perform a massive manly sacrifice for his family, he toootttaaally will. I'm sorry, what were you saying about social conditioning Mr. Hunt?
FATHER GOD or WHITE SAVIOUR?:
Patriarchy needs its Father Gods and its Mother Gods to play certain roles (tho, to paraphrase Angela Carter, both are as silly as each other.) These magical figures materialise at pivotal times then dematerialise when the narrative is over, the pivotal lessons learned. They never themselves learn or alter. Think Mary Poppins or Nanny McPhee. These figures are not entirely human, they possess an element of the supernatural. They serve others, serve a higher purpose. Nanny McPhee's appearance changes only as a reflection of her charges’ growth. Mary Poppins – the figure to whom Ted is most likened – learns to care about her kids but she doesn't engage in any self-introspection. Her duty and trajectory remains unchanged. When she arrives at her next job, she will do so exactly the same as she was.
These otherworldly mother deities are not unproblematic feminist figures themselves. But creating a male, fatherhood deity becomes even more problematic when he is white, cis-het and pretty able. Ted arrives to teach all the black and brown lost boys, to unite the disconnected women, liberate the closeted gays and to update the bumbling English gentlemen (there is, I feel, a special relish in these American bros educating their former colonisers on modern manhood). Here, we start to stray into white saviour territory. Frighteningly, this kind of patriarchal demi-god implies that white men are the most progressive figures in a society, they are in the political vanguard, championing the needs of the disconnected and downtrodden. White men are the ultimate source of wisdom, kindness and progress. It represents them as a group as progressive, when in reality the attitudes and politics of this group represent conservative politics and regressive values that impede the progress of every other marginalised group. If we buy this myth about white men, then we are more likely to accept what they say to us from their positions of power and privilege as right, wise, kind and progressive, even when it is the opposite.
So, if you are going to put forward a white man as a model of progressive politics, then you need to embrace unconventionality, not just superficially but down to your bones. “Ted Lasso” tried to structure s2 and s3 differently but just ended up making a mess of allusions and ideologies that did not connect, cohere, develop or conclude. In fact, sometimes they straight-up contradicted.  Employing a magical 3-part structure and making a bunch of meaningless allusions to well-known classics does not another classic make. They did not engage with any of these classics (“Cheers”, “Mary Poppins”, “The Wizard of Oz”) in any deep or critical way. Classics may be loved but they are not faultless. If you simply repeat what has already been done, even in celebrated classics, you may just end up repeating mistakes someone already made for you to learn from. TL repeats the central feminist problem of parental deities in “Mary Poppins”, just as it repeats the irreconcilable ending of “The Wizard of Oz”.
LIMINALITY:
Both “The Wizard of Oz” and “Mary Poppins” take us into strange liminal worlds. “Ted Lasso” could be read similarly, except that Ted doesn't take any magic home with him. In fact, he seems to actively forget it, reverting to the Ted he was before leaving. No queerness or feminism follows him home, no traces of the various cultures he's come into contact with. The liminal remain liminal with no indication that these two worlds will communicate or can integrate. The non-white, female, queer and otherwise bizarre are left outside of Ted’s squeaky clean hometown heteronormativity. And I really don’t think I have to explain why that is so deeply irresponsible. Because again, this is a writing choice.
That epilogue at the end was brief but imagine if it included more detail: Ted texting with Rebecca, or facetiming with Roy, Jamie giving Henry advice. They didn't take the time to honour and continue these relationships or integrate these two worlds. They didn't suggest that responsible fatherhood could entail many things, could look different. “Sacrifice,” they said profoundly. “Fatherhood,” they murmured mistily. “Patriarchy” was their final word to which this feminist says, “Bullshit.”
PRIVILEGE:
I only did one film unit at uni but it really doesn't take much to deconstruct the absurdly inconsistent ending of “The Wizard of Oz”. It was 1939, the end of the Great Depression and the start of another devastating world war. People needed to be convinced that their small ramshackle b/w lives surrounded by loved ones were stable, noble even. They already had everything they needed. They didn't need Oz. They didn't need bright futures, big adventures or exciting opportunities. Monochrome Kansas was all a good American should ever hope for. There was danger in difference, safety at home.
Well, here we are in late-stage capitalistic hell, having come through (???) a pandemic and it takes a special sort of privilege to say to an audience: you don't need money or opportunity or community, they won't make your life any better than before. Be happy with the muddy and mundane. Be happy with what you've got. Turn away from larger community, greater knowledge, continued stability, and isolate yourself in a bubble of you and yours. Look, it's not a sweet or familiar narrative conclusion but the truth is, Ted’s, Henry’s and Michelle’s lives would have all been better if they'd relocated to London. Do these dolts have any idea what teachers (in the USA esp) are currently going through? How overworked and underpaid and undervalued these people are? The burnout rates?? Ted didn't have to take the highest salary Rebecca offered but, had the writers been willing to put in the effort, a more unconventional, more modern ending to this series could have been crafted.
Not that I'm surprised they took the easy road to glory. All indications from the beginning of s3 suggested that this would be the rather predictable conclusion. Indications do not, however, constitute development. This team had the opportunity to write a new ending to an old story, one that incorporated queer, feminist and anti-capitalist values. One that defined a different, new version of patriarchy. They didn't even think to. In their white boi hubris, they just assumed that they and tradition knew best. Considering how many viewers would be struggling right now for food, housing, employment and opportunity, an ending in which Ted turns down an opportunity like this hits a false, rather virtue-signally note. Literally, nobody would have come out worse. Everybody would have benefitted from Ted staying in Richmond. Which means this decision was made purely to manufacture a “moment” that celebrates patriarchy.
ANTICAPITALISM: There’s a reason they had Rebecca offer Ted the biggest salary in his industry. They wanted to make it NotAboutTheMoney! Ted doesn’t say so (doesn’t say anything) but, because this narrative idea is so fucking familiar, we can assume the thoughts behind his oh-so-sage expression are: “Well, shucks now, boss, I rightly do appreciate the kindly offer but that there kid o’ mine is more important to me than any cash you could put in my silly lil handy-hands.” Good Lord. The cringe is real. I really, really can’t with this mighty, manly silence and sacrifice. My problem isn’t that Ted values his son over money (not that it has to be a choice because that money could benefit Henry and his mother, who is owed a heck of a lot of child support esp since she’s been raising their son solo for 3 years). Again, that is how it should be. My problem is that the show actively established Richmond as an anticapitalist landscape, then suddenly at the eleventh hour, tried to walk that back and imply it was actually a capitalistic landscape (in contrast to homey ole Kansas).
Capitalism teaches us to sniff at money. We've been told by the monied and privileged that it won't buy happiness. (This is of course, utter bullshit because money can buy you a hell of a lot of wellbeing, security and opportunity). At the beginning of the series, Rebecca Welton stands for this principle. And by the end, she has found a way to use her extreme wealth and privilege in an ethical way. She gives it away. She supports others. She lets Sam out of a promotional contract, she funds Keeley’s business, she sells half the club to fans. The most obvious example of Rebecca’s anticapitalist politics is her confrontation with all the richy riches who want to take soccer away from the people. Here, she becomes an anticapitalist leader, one who has been positively influenced by the anticapitalistic politics of The Lasso Way.
The Lasso Way is anticapitalistic in that it stresses that winning isn’t everything. You try but you try together. You play hard, not in order to beat the other guy, but to be the best (player, teammate, man) you can be. There are no individual stars, only collaborative team players. You give due credit to others, the team, the support staff. The club functions well when it functions as a unit. Over the course of the series, it becomes a commune that protects and nurtures its citizens. A socialist haven that values people over profits, prizes and meaningless acquisition. The Greyhounds don’t want to win the league for the money or the top spot. Winning the whole fucking thing is an expression of their regard for each other, the game and the new, kinder ethos they all now live by.
Because they spent 3 years establishing all of this (during a time when we really needed to hear it), there is something v disingenuous about them then having Rebecca offer to go to extremes to pay Ted more money than any man should have. It is not consistent with the show’s themes, the ethos of the club, Rebecca’s attitude or what she knows of Ted. She knows it’s not about the money for Ted. It never was. It’s an act of desperation on her part, but why did they need to make her ridiculous, desperate, so inept in this moment? Hannah plays it beautifully but I can’t help but feel this is part of them diminishing Richmond, (re)casting it as excessively capitalistic in relation to Kansas so that they can turn Ted’s decision into a simple Money < Son choice. Because if it is a Money < Son choice then he has no dilemma. There is no other choice. He goes home to his son. The problem is, they’ve just spent 3 years proving that it is not a simple Money < Son dilemma. Money was never actually part of this equation. Ted left to give Michelle space, to find himself, to find a new life and community, to extend himself beyond what he knew as normal. As such, there is now far more than just money for Ted in Richmond (which tbf, Rebecca also points out, but I still think this point stands).
The other major problem is that, here in the real world, middle-class America (which btw does not exist) is far from being a haven of peace and prosperity comparable to nowhere in the world. This is a lazy cliché than any amount of travel should quickly disabuse you of. And yet in Kansas, we are supposed to believe, despite everything happening in America (referenced by Henry in ep 3.01), Ted will find community, opportunity and stability. To pull off this ending, they needed to establish a Kansas unlike the one currently in existence. This is what they did with Richmond. The UK is no better than the US currently, but they nevertheless established an ideal society, one with values very contrary to the world we now live in. Is it any wonder that people saw the desertion of this world as a rejection of feminist, queer and anticapitalist values? Right now, more than ever, people want to believe in a society that isn't all about triumph, success, competition, acquisition, individualism and aggression. They want to believe in a society that emphasises community, values people, shares wealth, offers opportunity, encourages difference, improves lives and moves onward, forward, in circumspect but ethical steps. These themes were all there in the series. They just weren't utilised when it came time to shape its conclusion.

Okay the last post about SoTE progress for today!! (3/3)
1) So, after I defeated Romina, I of course....
Tumblr media
came back and finally got to that bridge area that I wanted to get to!!!
Yes, I just wanted to get to that side of the map where I saw a Horned Knight that I just really wanted to murder for some reason XD However, to my surprise, I saw another Dancing Lion boss ;-; That one was a hard battle and I could not have imagined to need to do that AGAIN ;-; But my way layed through that spot, and also I am a perfectionist..
1.1) But surprisingly, at the Stage 2, it summoned several Basylisks and started to use Deathblight! That was significant for me! So yesterday I concluded that Scarlet Rot, Deathblight and Formless Blood (? is this even a correct term) all spawn flies and plants? And whereas Romina of course raised Scarlet Rot here since the buds in Rauh church she brought here were not always rotten, some Hornsent here use same flies swarms as Mohg's people! Seeing how a Dancing Lion here uses Deathblight, but no Deathroot was anywhere on its arena, I felt even more convinced that these three powers are basically Pokemon Eevelutions of the same initial concept, 'stagnation', whereas fly sickness that fell upon Hornsent is its initial unaltered form! + I guess all Hornsent in Rauh are runaways from Belurat particularly, then?
2) I finally killed that poor particular Horned Knight whom I had eyes on as soon as I saw them!!!!! They've dropped the greatsword if I remember correctly? Happy end! XDDD
3) So... Yeah, at last, finally, FINALLY I proceeded and burnt the sealing tree. I got to explore Enir-Ilim! It was already beautiful, with all the pale yellow trees. Took me some time to adjust, though, the place was tangled from the start!
4) Yeah yeah Inquisitors are female feminism wins whatever
Tumblr media
Vfggghgjhgv unironically though, I love subversion of the trope xD
5) Something creepy/funny happened along the way though, I was laughing so hard wtfffff gfbfgcbfg
OKAY SO at some point my joy from the new location went down because my focus shifted towards the memory of the final boss, and I just remembered how much I dreaded them.. so, I broke my vow to not fuel the negativity which is already abundant and wrote a rant(ish) post about how much that decision soured otherwise amazing DLC and ranted about Radahn (disliking about his involvement, not the character jfhyggfg). And what do you think? That frankly sour post got eaten by Tumblr!
And yes, I know, Tumblr is a broken website and all that, but listen.. It never made the posts disappear for me. Ever. It could glitch out a post with bad internet and randomly publish it later as I log in, it could glitch an ask response and not have the draft saved thus losing it. It has invisible ask glitch and glitch where same post gets reblogged from 3 to 5 times. It never just made post disappear instead of being posted even with delay or giving me error message. Never. Ever. Ever. Except for now. The one time I spoke unkindly about that choice, not just "mannn weird how it wasn't foreshadowed :("
So since I am infamous amongst my friends for my super bizarre coincidences regarding fictional characters ( @heraldofcrow and @val-of-the-north witnessed so many they can swear I am cursed) me and my friend are joking that Miquella is real and he nuked the post for talking shit about his blorbo LMAOOOOOOO FFGDHTGG WTFFFFF 🤣
6) OK sorry hghgggggf Anyways, to my DELIGHT, I discovered variant of Hornsent Knights that wore smaller variant of Dancing Lions masks and use their powers like lighting and blizzard.... fun... :/
7) *points like in the meme* HEY I KNOW THIS ITEM, IT WAS SWORD OF ABUNDANCE AND DECAY REPRESENTING MALENIA AND MIQUELLA IN BETA VARIANT! XDDD
Tumblr media
Kind of ironic how it is called 'Euphoria', because I could not be less happy about that lore being cut, all for...... *looks around in case if Miquella is somewhere in the walls*
8) There were so many nooks.. I found a secret passageway on accident, by trying to run from an old lady spamming so many spells under my feet that I was BARELY able to move! 🤦‍♂️
That eventually led me to a part of Belurat that I didn't get to explore before! Yes, the bridge above that area was where I picked Euphoria in! But below was poisonous swamp (truly a Miyazaki lol) where I got to fight a GREEN variant of Tree Spirit! It just dropped a Horn Charm that boosted poison and Rot resistance!
Tumblr media
^ This find, though, was interesting for me, because it is a variant of a glove that was dropped by an NPC Maddening Hand earlier! That one had eyes and dealt Frenzy and specified to be weapon of Hornsent hunted by their own as heretics, but it was also forged in yearning for revenge! So, it is not even that exceptional; for Hornsent, it is a cultural thing to stitch a weapon of revenge from the skin of the victims! Kind of like giving victims a chance to strike back, albeit in death. Very poetic.
9) There was a lot of running, and a lot of getting lost. Found Spirit Ashes of Horned Knight, too (nothing new about them in description), had to use Rainbow Stones to finally stop running in circles, found Ancient Somber Smithing Stone secret via elevator (good because I ran out of them).. and THIIIIIIS:
Tumblr media
I wondered where was the head piece of this set! Pieces of it are scattered and I found all previous three! And, again, isn't it interesting how white birds (death) are here, whereas bird variant of Horned Knights were favored 'gold' birds? Second half of Twin Bird is gold life bird guuuuuyyys-
10) Okay, eventually I've met Leda telling me to step away! I was given the choice to summon Thiollier and Ansbach, presumably because I finished their questlines, so I did! It just felt like it would be more fun.. and it WAS! Holy shit gfgggcbch I did NOT expect the ultimate NPC showdown XD And, again, Freyja and Ansbach had an actual CONVERSATION! Look, this is a breakthrough for Soulsborne games, trust me they just DON'T have characters interact "on screen"!
10.1) HOLY SHIT THOUGH DANE ACTUALLY SAID SOMETHING o_o GDGTHCJBB
10.2) No, seriously, I just wanted to jump on Tumblr and post just this! The best fucking moment
11) Instant interest:
Tumblr media
Which Outer God? Is it one we know of, or some random guy? I decided to not think about it too hard, yesterday it ended in an over 3 hours long brainstorming and my brain still short-circuits! But maybe later! ...I am sure at some point I'll find a similar pattern in the game itself and it will all click..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ They were both picked by a respective final boss personally.. Simon+Brador to Ludwig+Laurence moment and so on
Tumblr media
^ *points like in a meme AGAIN* Hey I read about it in a post, she killed all other Needle Knights! And by the way, I never found the seal (?) that revealed that lore! @val-of-the-north help bvbgggvh
12) Ansbach also had a dialogue after that battle to praise Thiollier's poisoning skills! That was lovely!
13) I kind of wondered though: why could not we summon Vengeance-Seeking Hornsent in this battle too, if we did his questline correctly? That would make fair 4 Miquella Simps vs 4 of "us" battle! Like, why just cast away the character to have him die as invader somewhere in Scarlet Rot place? I later realized that it would crash the "balance" of the final boss later, and I guess he was the "safest" to leave behind since he already had his goal (to see Messmer die)! Whereas other two target Miquella in particular!
13.1) This distribution is still a meme material for shitposts about characters doing competitive sport, fighting in an online game etc hfgfggbhcbx 4 vs 4
14) I actually checked and just like I thought, the last painting secret was only accessible after burning the seal!
Tumblr media
Yeah no shit man we could tell
15) So.... yeah, finally, I've met the final boss. I never wanted to fight Radahn again; he somehow gave me problems even on Torrent with all the friends summons, and now I have to somehow dodge him in a small arena т.т Or maybe I am dumb and this is just my skill issue idk gfggjhhy
16) I actually got to the second stage first try somehow! It often happens how I play better when I still don't even know what I am doing XD And...
Okay, is this a good time to say that so far I only was spoilered some footage and lore, but not the voicelines? So.. I shared that story already some time, but a few months before the DLC, I was simply one of the people here 101% convinced about Miquella being kind and the good guy and all! I wasn't like aggressive or anything about it unlike some more avid fans (got stabbed by Bewitching Branch, did you? :p), but still also said "they should read something besides Berserk" or "people are reading into 'fearsome empyrean' line too deep". However, as DLC was approaching, at some point I had an extremely vivid dream where Miquella appeared to me, and his vibe was exactly like in the DLC in retrospective! Okay, maybe more sinister; not cold or evil, just... "forceful" in a similar way, "for my sake".
So, back then, not only that dream permanently altered my brain chemistry to accept and become open to "evil/manipulative Miquella" interpretations, but also helped me to Expect Anything which softened the blow regarding the DLC xd I had a shock moment, but far not as bad as other fans from 'this' camp! ...... so now, I found out that his voice is EXACTLY like it was in my dream 2 months ago. 🌛I really am cursed LMAOOOO WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME XDDDD
_____________
Like I said I am a dumb looser with skill issue so I've been trying to beat the boss for next 2+ hours and still didn't.. I will probably get them next time, for now I have to travel for a week and then work again т.т Watching what insane ways YouTube come up maybe will help..
I also one time got a grab attack where Radahn snatches Tarnished and says "I promise you a thousand years voyage of compassion" which got me flustered a little and already made it harder to play, but NOW that I think of it, Ranni also said "a thousand years voyage (under wisdom of stars") 🤔 So that's at least two Demigods hinting at how whatever order (or lack of) they establish won't/can't last forever, but only for 'thousand of years'! Good to know that any system, good or bad, will eventually crumble x) Gwyn: TRIGGERED
All in all, it is a very hard battle and I can't see shit in second phase, everything is too bright. But also oddly enough, I no longer dread new lore/final this much..? Meeting the final boss in person helped to finally accept actual Miquella and get over my prior mental image for good, and I am no longer hung up on Radahn involvement beyond 'some more foreshadowing needs to go in base game via patch now'. I start to wonder whether I simply got caught in the shared disappointment mood and effect of not having the full picture rather than actually dreaded thing from the start? It reminds me of that time when I was clowning agreeing that Malenia was unfair boss but only when I fought her like 70 times myself I realized I exagerrated hfhyggh Not saying Twin Dunces is a good battle, but just saying I don't dread it as much as I thought from spoiler and getting there MYSELF helped

STRONGEST Zodiac Women Ranked
From the beginning of time, the world has had this wrong misconception of women being weak. But with all the revolution around feminism and women standing up for themselves, the strength of said women has been a subject of discussion for some time now.
Women are definitely some of the strongest individuals, able to accomplish whatever they put their minds to. But, how does their sign influence this?
Dive into our analysis as we rate women from strongest to weakest according to their Zodiac sign, 1 being the strongest and 12 the weakest.
#1. Aries
Aries identifies with the figure of a warrior, of courage and heroic action. As such, they are the strongest sign and top of our list. Aries women are determined and ambitious, often compared to the Amazons in their strength, but also their impulsiveness.
Being impulsive can sometimes work against them, but it’s also a positive trait that means they will jump in without a second thought to pursue their wants. Nothing can get in the way of an Aries woman getting what she wants, because she will fight her way to it till the end.
This fire sign won’t give up easily, and they will make it to the top each time, even on this list!
#2. Cancer
This sensitive sign will surprise you with its strength. It corresponds to the Chariot in the Tarot. Cancer women are fierce about protecting those they care about. This makes them one of the strongest signs, comparable to a mother bear looking after their cubs, as they will be unstoppable when trying to protect what they care about.
Cancer women are also masters of healthy boundaries and managing their emotions in a very healthy way that gives them a lot of energy, not only to look after themselves but others.
#3. Scorpio
Another sign associated with warriors but, in this case, with strategy. Scorpio women are amazing strategists with strong desires. When these women want something, they will go for it and attain it no matter the consequences, no matter the effort.
Unlike Aries women, Scorpios won’t just jump into it, they will weave a careful plan and execute it till they are successful. This sign might seem impulsive at a first glance, but it’s only because they’ve been silently plotting for months! Trust me, if they want to win, nothing will stop them.
#4. Capricorn
Capricorn women also go after their desires without thinking about it twice. They are hard workers that rarely make up excuses, giving their best to the tasks at hand and working relentlessly for what they desire.
Capricorns are also practical. Their practicality makes them some of the strongest women. They will endure whatever life throws at them. However, they concentrate too much of their energy on their work, often forgetting to put themselves first.
#5. Leo
Still on the top 5, Leo is a sign that knows their values. They have a strong sense of themselves and of how much they are worth, which speaks volumes of their strength. Leo women will defend their beliefs with tooth and nail.
They’re also great at setting boundaries and putting limits, which allows them to spend more time pursuing their wants and fighting for what they believe in.
Being often portrayed as arrogant, Leos will be taken down by self-doubt from time to time, having to work to regain their strength and confidence. This instability is what has pushed them almost to the middle of this list.
#6. Pisces
Pisces are known for how sensitive they are, but this doesn't mean they’re a weak sign. Their strength lies in their empathy and their emotions, in how caring they can be and how passionately they will fight for what they want.
They can be very temperamental, but they’ll defend those they care about almost as no other sign will. They’d fight for you and die for you. Pisces have a strong sense of self. But, on the other hand, Pisces can also have a victim mentality, which can seriously set them back.
#7. Virgo
If you’re in a crisis, then find yourself a Virgo woman. They are the best in these situations and will know how to act, how to concentrate on what matters and how to focus. Knowing their priorities is a strength on its own because these women will know how to implement their force and not waste it on the inconsequential.
On the other hand, having such high standards, Virgo women can be over judgmental and critical even towards themselves, making them a weaker sign that goes through a lot of ups and downs.
#8. Sagittarius
Same as Leos, Sagittarius women know their own worth. But the difference is that rather than being self-sufficient to the point of recklessness, these women know when it’s time to ask for help.
They won’t be scared of appearing weak, because they understand it is not a weakness to need people around them to support them in moments of need. They might not be the strongest on their own, but they certainly know how to make up for it when resourcing external help.
#9. Aquarius
These Water women are on the top three for overthinking signs. These women will think about everything so much that they will start doubting themselves, unsure of how to proceed and having trouble picking sides.
This will take a lot of energy away from them. On the positive side, Aquarius women can remain calm in times of crisis, which can make them the strongest person in a room for a brief time when chaos erupts.
#10. Taurus
Taurus women are sensible and stable. They like things a particular way and don’t deal well with change. In a life of luxury and routine, Taurus will flourish. But they like this “good life” too much and won’t know how to live without the luxuries.
This makes Taurus women one of the weakest, becoming unstable under pressure and not knowing how to get out of their lows when life hits them with unexpected events.
#11. Gemini
These multi-faced women are the queens of overthinking. If there are a thousand angles to go about something, Gemini women will find each of them.
They often lack emotional resources and struggle to recognize their own value too, which takes them almost to the bottom of this list. They have very sharp minds, which is usually an amazing quality, but it can also play against them a lot of the time, turning them into self-doubt and even self-loathing.
#12. Libra
Libra women will always put themselves second. All their strength will be employed in pleasing others and caring for them, so they struggle to stand up for themselves and draw strength when needed.
Also, have you ever asked a Libra woman to pick a movie to watch on a date night? Libras are unable to make up their minds even on the smallest things, which plays against them all the time and has them coming last on this list.
We hope you enjoyed our take on women’s strengths and weaknesses!
Do you agree with this order?
Did you identify with your sign’s description or from people you’re close with?

Here are some fun facts about Lady Wu
Wu and Garmadon are born twins. Garmadon was born first by five seconds so he wins all the inheritance.
Wu gets to keep her name since the name is gender neutral.
Being the Daughter of God has its drawbacks as men across Ninjago want her hand in marriage. Because of her beauty Wu has to wear a veil to cover her beauty. She would either wear a hat veil and a ninja mask.
She is closer to her oni side then her dragon side.
Wu still leads the Elemental alliance and this is actually a historical event for feminism.
Wu hates Miskao as she believes that she stole her brother.
Instead of being called Sensei, Wu goes by Lady or Mistress. But still gets called Master in later seasons.
Harumi secretly envies Wu and actually wants to be Garmadon’s sister instead of daughter. Acting as the replacement sister would make Harumi Garmadon’s equal and give her more authority then she does in canon.
During the Serpentine wars Wu wore the Oni Mask of Deception. The books recalls this event as “The daughter of Light who clothed herself in deception.” After the serpentine wars Wu gave the Mask to the royal family.
As the first born Garmadon was originally meant to inherit the golden weapons while wu was meant to inherit the oni masks. But then the bite happened.
She grew spiteful after her brother’s betrayal that she slowly fell into a path of villainy. Until she became a victim of the Overlord’s possession. Making her the main villain of season 3.
Dragon Lord Wu isn’t canon for lady wu I just did the art for fun. Although an evil chaos wielding women would make an interesting future villain.
When Lady Wu gets too old she will eventually grow a beard. It's a canon event she can't skip.
Acronix was in love with her. Wu didn’t share the same feeling.
The only man that Lady Wu loves is the Omega. After a one night stand she came back with a child. No one was impressed. (And yes she did have to kill her own husband, pretty tragic)
Unlike canon Lady Wu was pretty much a jerk to Morro and is the reason Morro ran away.
To ensure all dragons were free she killed all the dragon hunters with the exception of those who relinquished their loyalty to Iron Baron.
Lady Wu goes to Chen’s island in season 4 after being given a personal invitation from the master of the house. Because of this Garmadon also goes to the island.
Lady Wu is bisexual and she does hit on other women.
My version of Lady Wu is biologically born a women but I don't mind if you view her as trans.

Was feeling traumatized about abuse and I went on a tirade about legitimate feminism and how it could have helped me if I'd been exposed to this perspective/thought as a teenager and immediately distanced myself from almost all men, and you know what? Feminism honestly in its purest form harms Nobody. It is meant to protect women. Imagine how many young women aren't helped by true feminist thought because they are derided as terfs and silenced. And what is radical about feminism? It is only meant to protect women. What is so radical about that? What I love about these feminists is that even when you have separatists, lesbians, even trans people(female by birth), many pure minded feminists will announce solidarity with all of those different people because they know how important it is for women to HAVE solidarity with one another. Stick together. If you get 3-5 radfems in an argument about men in particular/true patriarchy, the radfems will win every time and probably piss everyone off and get blocked. It is imperative that radfems balance each other's thoughts out because of course you will get very radical thinkers. It's the combination of fair weather feminists and radical ones that brought me to where I'm at. And it could have protected me. It's that lightbulb. This is why they call it "peaking". There is a moment where you BECOME AWARE. It's possible for almost every woman. So why is the ideology tainted.mm...... anyway I said some of this out loud just to say it and I was returned with silence. Of fuckin course. Imagine how many women could be helped

I think I would've enjoyed the barbies movie more if it wasn't lauded as this groundbreaking feminist movie.
It was a good movie. The obvious care that went into it was incredible. Set and props!!! perfect casting!!! IM JUST KEN!!! (which did, actually, deserve to win awards more than what was my made for in my opinion but whatever)
I cried twice. Once during the scene where barbie first cries and yes, durng what was I made for.
But it wasnt radical at all. And that was okay! A lot of that hype came from conservatives, honestly. I saw it the weekend after it opened, wen conservatives had their monthly meltdown over something stupid. It's kinda like when they call Biden a radical leftist and Im like... I wish he was, bro.
Barbie is entry level feminism. It's kinda like when your school makes you take a gen ed of something even though you know all the basics already because its an interest of yours but you gotta take it before you take the upper level class (Yes, I'm looking at my intro to disability class right now. Why did I have to spend a class period on person first vs. identity first language, I know this already!)
Barbie is not the perfect feminist movie. It lacked subtext or subtly that I would have preferred, was not intersectional enough for my liking, and a myriad of issues plenty of youtubers have spent 3 hours per video talking about.
But.... I don't think it was ever supposed to be, was it? I don't think Greta set out to reshape feminism, to define all of feminism, to solve the worlds probelms in a movie. I think, at it's core, it was meant to be a fun movie. It's pg13, not R. It's meant for mass appeal. hell, Bethany Beal of Girl Defined's husband, Dave loved it! Barbie herself wasn't going on a quest to change the real word or barbie world or herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed my entire time watching it! I thoroughly enjoyed my entire time rewatching it a few months latter! And I'll probably thoroughly enjoy rewatching it again in a few years!
I just wish it wasn't hailed as this earth shattering movie.
But, again, that's probably ben shaprio and jordan petersons fault more than anyone else.

like i LOVE how it's a thing that's well suited for curvy bodies bc i'm curvy and like. my own body is v similar to some of the models and it's like. win <3
YEAAAAH. omg thing abt the Ideal Woman Body over the decades is ig it tends to be skinny af when feminism is big/advances in gender equality are happening and more curvy, natural when theyre not. so like yeah ‘50s suuper good example of curvy being normalized a bit more (and like. idk its prolly more complicated than that but it honestly makes a weird amount of sense??)

Blog Tour: Top 5 Reasons to Read SOME SHALL BREAK by Ellie Marney! #tbrbeyondtours
Tumblr media
Welcome to Book-Keeping and my stop on the TBR and Beyond Tours blog + bookstagram tour for Some Shall Break by Ellie Marney, the sequel to 2020’s breakout hit None Shall Sleep! I absolutely loved the first book and this follow-up, and below you’ll find my top 5 reasons to read the series!
About the Book
Tumblr media
title: Some Shall Break (None Shall Sleep #2) author: Ellie Marney publisher: Little, Brown release date: 6 June 2023
This sequel to the New York Times bestselling None Shall Sleep is an equally electrifying, chilling thriller that brings us back into the lives of junior FBI consultants Travis Bell and Emma Lewis with a new case that may unravel everything they’ve been working for.
After a harrowingly close contact with juvenile sociopath Simon Gutmunsson, junior FBI consultants Emma Lewis and Travis Bell went their separate ways: Emma rejected her Quantico offer and Travis stayed to train within a new unit of the FBI Behavioral Science division. But the unit’s latest case is feeling eerily familiar and Kristin Gutmunsson—Simon Gutmunsson’s eccentric twin—reaches out to Travis to send a warning: Emma is in peril. When Travis and Kristin turn up evidence that points back to Daniel Huxton, the serial killer that Emma had escaped, things become more complicated. With a copycat on the loose, Emma returns to Quantico and is thrown back into her past traumas. Compelled to prevent more tragedy—even if it means putting herself in danger—Emma turns to Simon for help once again. But Simon is keeping secrets that could impact their entire investigation. Will the team be able to stop the Huxton copycat before time runs out for his next victims?
Content Warning: Murder, gore, trauma, sexual assault, sexism, violence, drug use, racism

Top 5 Reasons to Read
I must admit I’m kind of glad this isn’t a traditional review because I’d just be gushing incoherently about how freaking much I loved Some Shall Break (and its predecessor, None Shall Sleep). So instead of rambling, let me give you my top 5 reasons to read this incredible series!
1. The early 1980s setting had me nostalgic for my childhood! Granted, I was only 7 in 1982, but I loved all the little references to things I remember from that time - songs, fashion, cars, etc.
2. I loved getting a (fictional) peek inside the beginnings of the FBI’s now-famed Behavioral Science Unit, which quickly became the gold standard for serial killer profiling.
3. These books give us the most creepy and terrifying serial killer this side of Hannibal Lecter, and I am absolutely chuffed to see the grittiness of this thriller series in young adult lit!
4. Emma Lewis is a badass, incredibly complex character that you root for with every single page you turn. Her badassery lies not in brute strength or actual abilities to kick butt, but in her strength of character, her tenacity, her intelligence, her unwillingness to be pushed around, and her feminist sensibilities (back when more mainstream feminism was still fairly new). She has *been through some shit* and has come out the other side fierce and strong, while also still dealing with the effects of her captivity. I love the quote from Adrienne Rich that she cites as her favorite: “Her wounds came from the same source as her power.”
5. Finally, more on the feminism: again, we’re dealing with very early ‘80s, so mainstream feminism was in its nascent stage, but Marney exposes the sexism inherent in not just police culture but also the culture at large at the time -- and which unfortunately still exists today. At one point Kristen says, “People only listen when women expose their pain, I suppose.” Emma later remarks, “Every woman lives in a constant state of battle-readiness.” Later, when Emma shoos away a creep in a bar by referring to her FBI partner, Travis, as her boyfriend, she notes “the irony that she has to claim connection with one man to avoid another.” I doubt I’m alone in saying each of these is all too familiar even now, 40 years after the setting of this book.
I’m not sure I can adequately convey how darn much I love this series, but I hope this list is a start! If you are *at all* a mystery/thriller lover, PICK THESE UP! Even if you don’t normally read YA, I am confident you’ll love these. And DM me with thoughts once you’re done!
RATING: 5 stars!
**Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for purposes of this blog tour. I also bought myself the audiobook to alternate between audio and physical.

I think I need to talk about barbie again because seeing how people are big mad about the barbie snubs is crazy. once you sit down and actually think about the story critically there are so many obvious flaws in the storytelling (that have nothing to do with the feminism 101 criticism) and its not surprising that margot didnt get nominated when the writing for her character was pretty weak which majorly undercuts her performance.
you can have moments of beautiful acting in a movie that have no weight because the editing/writing is weak and I think thats what happened here. to me its just ironic that in a movie about barbie, ken emerged a more well written character which is also why Ryans performance got so much attention.
THIS. It’s kinda disappointing actually that so much conversation is about Greta Gerwig’s “snub” and not that she’s had all 3 of her first solo directorial films nominated for Best Picture. She is one of the foremost directors, period, in Hollywood right now. I don’t mind that she didn’t get a Director nomination (the lineup is incredible actually, it’s not like Bradley Cooper is there, lol). She got screenplay somehow like. Anyway.
Yes. Ken’s character is the most entertaining and memorable imo. Barbie was very relatable but also put to the side. And yes that was all part of the narrative! It was done on purpose! But the fact that Margot didn’t get nominated isn’t sexism in the academy. It’s that there were better performances. Idk. I’d rather Margot been nominated than America, and I’d rather Margot have been nominated for Babylon than Barbie, but neither happened so what can you do.
Anyways, yeah. I agree with your assessment and I’m already tired of the conversation as if it isn’t amazing the Barbie movie has so many noms as it is, and will probably win some. I suspect it’ll win more than just production/craft awards, but who knows. But yup. Agreeeeed all around actually.

My point is that if thea-nymo was this big bad meanie y'all are trying to say she is then why is she still posting? If she had done wrong and her blog had been found out, why is she still posting on it? That's proof she didn't do anything wrong or she would have switched blogs, right? Her blog is still up, not termed at all. If you search for her username or satoryuga's username literally the only people talking about either of them in this context are TERF blogs, which is pretty damning and makes it look like y'all picked a random woman in the fandom to choose as your scapegoat for your own actions. You say others were harassed, can you prove trans people were involved in that either or is it just wishful thinking on your part? Satoryuga in their own post does not mention trans people even once. And yes I highly doubt MRA groups in Korea exist and if they do, they exist the same way they do in the rest of the world which is a bunch of fringe men on the internet who aren't actually taking action in real life or have the power to attack some random person. Love bombing is exactly what it is because y'all are doing it to absolve yourselves of guilt when you probably were involved in some way and then blame it on trans people which is exactly what y'all are known for doing so congrats on getting a random Korean person doxxed and assaulted I guess? Big win for "feminism"!
Also I found this post from someone in that fandom that literally SAYS y'all did! https://www.tumblr.com/tsunflowers/702085867986157568 "I’ve heard from another person that when someone who received similar harassment said they would abandon their blog they were suddenly swarmed by terfs trying to comfort them and saying look at what those awful trans women did to this innocent cis woman. obviously my suspicion is that those terfs are the same people making the accounts to spew hate speech and they just switched to a different set of accounts once the violence had its intended effect"
wow lots of bullshit here and you obviously are trying to ensure your side is justified no matter what despite several openly anti-terf pro-trans individuals speaking openly in support of the doxxing and harassment.
1. why would this person stop posting? idiots like you all justified it and turned a blind eye, some even praising it, this person even being called out was reduced to some terf thing and was dismissed by other TRAs. same way outed rapists and pedos on here managed to get away with it by saying it’s all terf lies and are still posting on tumblr to this day.
2. “that’s proof she didn’t do anything wrong” no it isn’t, it is proof of how devoid of morals all of you are because none of you cared enough to hold the person behind it accountable, instead you justified this person and allowed them to get away with vile racist & misogynistic harassment. not shocking because you lot have allowed all sorts of racists and predators and misogynists to get away with the same as long as they were on your side.
3. “only person talking about it are TERF blogs” almost like only people who actually cared and took issue with what happened were terf blogs while you lot turned a blind eye and even praised the doxxing and harassment bc satoryuga deserved it for merely being labelled a terf.
4. “i highly doubt korean MRAs exist” so now you’re also accusing the victim herself of lying and inventing something. one second of googling showed me you’re wrong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. claiming “terfs” are behind it baselessly. very typical tactic of yours. anything we do thats bad is actually terfs’ fault!!! oh proof?? uhmmmm well they were supporting the woman getting harassed which actually is a manipulation tactic :// oh the person who took responsibility for it is a trans women? oh well a terf must’ve made that up. oh you found a blog of a trans woman who coincidentally used the exact same wording in regards to satoryuga, supported the doxxing and harassment, and even liked posts that praised the person that doxxed her and spearheaded her harassment? well uhhh that doesn’t count bc if it were this person they’d totally not be on tumblr anymore!!
you’re stupid and an apologist. don’t msg me again.
