Ok! The animatic is mostly comedic and very much started out as a shitpost (hence the fact that nobodys clothes are era apropriate etc) , but i did make it with history in mind so heres some history!

the Bulduru conference of 1920 was a conference that lasted from the 6th of august to the 6th of september 1920 in Bulduri (a part of the city of Jūrmala), Latvia. (Latvia was the host which is the reason i'm having Latvia be the main one who talks to ppl through the animatic)

It was a conference between Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Poland and Ukraine (Ukrainian Peoples's Republic) (sort of. Ukraine was either a member or an observer depending on the source.)

The UK and France were observers and Belarus (Belarusian Democratic Republic) was an unofficial observer (again. some sources say they were just an observer and some say they were unofficial).

Belarus and Ukraine at that moment held none of their land.

(Ukraine had lost the Polish-Ukranian war and was losing the Ukranian-Soviet war due to a lot of reasons that I'm not the best person to explian)

(one of them was France favouring Poland - a reason that i am mentioning bcs one of the things that i held in my mind during this whole animatic was the complex relations between the Baltic+Co countries and France and UK. both sides understood very much that they were just using eachother to get what they want. to France and UK these seperatist countries were needed as a shield against the Soviets (but they would have really prefered the Russian Empire to still exist and win the Russian civil war instead) and the Baltic+Co needed the wests guns and resources to win against the Soviets and/or Germans when they were involved.)

(Belarus, from what I can tell, lost all of its land to its Soviet alternative Socialist Soviet Republic of Byelorussia very fast after German troops left its teritory. People who know Belarussian history better than me please correct me if im wrong.)

(also - just in general - if im wrong abt any of this history feel free to correct me. i did do reasearch but all of it was in latvian and english so i can very much be wrong abt things that consern the other nations)

The Bulduru conferences whole deal was creating a Baltic Union between Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

(the Next part is a bit Edited from the og post bcs i kind of downplayed Polands actions at that time originally)

A goal that was ultimatly hopeless because almost imidietly after the conference (about a month later or so) Poland invaded and anexed Vilnius.

The others tried really hard to be neutral on that - wanting both the Poles and the Lithuanians as allies. (Latvia once asked Estonia to make a Baltic Entente with them and Lithuania (and Finland if they wanted) - to which Estonia declined because they didn't want to get on Polands bad side (also Lithuania was also against the idea bcs their whole plan was trying to befriend the Soviet and German states in the interwar period while Latvia and Estonia saw them as a danger). Later in 1934 a Baltic Entente would still be made - but as history would later tell - it didn't really acomplish much, due to lots and lots of reasons that i wont bore you with atm)

None of the agreements that were signed during the Bulduru conference were ever ratified.

Arcane Odyssey

I don't normally talk about this because it's technically a roblox game, and most folk immediately dismiss it thanks to that, but I genuinely am enthralled by it and believe it is so much more. So I'm gonna rant about it. Lovingly.

It's a whimsical (though dark at times, it's based on Greek mythos & one piece at the same time lmao what did you expect) RPG set in a world ravaged by magic pollution because instead of just giving us fire, Prometheus went above and beyond, giving Man fucking magic. Like a lot of it. Until eventually traditional magic, which consumed life force and made your lifespan significantly shorter, died out in favour of magic circles, a technique where you get weaker spells, but also *don't* kill yourself slowly by using it. Oh also all (most of? I forgor) the gods are dead btw, far as I know.

Yeah. I forget who, but some really powerful mortal just strolled into Olympus and killed half of them before forcing Poseidon to, at swordpoint, make these things called Sea Curses, which are cubes of raw magic energy that you permanently absorb the powers of after touching, also making you immortal, with basically all the drawbacks of a devil fruit from One Piece. He then killed Poseidon afterwards btw.

That's about all the historical lore I know, this shit is wild, I love it, it deserves to be its own game so that Vetex (the dev) can make money off this beautiful thing without being scammed out of it all by Roblox.

Oh yeah and the gameplay? Oh boy..

You can make your own moves. Crank up or down stats on a spell or design your own martial arts, build a ship and crew from the ground up, and use them to hunt bounties, assassinate people for being too nice, raze entire kingdoms to the ground, or save them.

Main story is also surprisingly fleshed-out as well. Don't want to spoil too much, but the only complaint I have with about 300hrs in the game is FUCK LADY CARINA, WHY ARE YOU HEALING 7 HP PER SECOND AND HOW DO YOU DODGE THAT QUICK WHAT IN THE ACTUAL-

Ahem. This is a bit longer than I intended it to be so I'll wrap up soon. Last thing I wanna share is some screenshots of my character, cos I originally was just gonna make a post of that but felt it'd be a disgrace to leave y'all in the dark about this game. Maybe I went a bit overboard but oh well.

Update: I wrote this the other day and saved it as a draft. Just now came back to it, I beat General Argos while like 10 levels beneath the recommendation yesterday and got this lit af camera angle after the fight

Do I respond to comments? I try my best to! Sometimes I don't respond on my older fics but that's more of a personal failing as I forgor..

What has the most angst-ridden ending? Oh ho! Now, that's a stickler. I think probably a toss up between Best Laid Schemes (this is NOT my fault, I was writing along with the first season as it aired and they threw in a major character death that fucked my plot up innit) and From The Pain (you drive into the heart of me) (Buddy Daddies) but I DO still intend to write a nice fifth part to that series.

What has the happiest ending? Probably Cocoa isn't Cocoa without the Mini-Marshmallows (Legends of Tomorrow), pure fluff at the end there tbh. Rare for me.

Have I received hate? Not really hate, per se. I've had a few rude comments and bookmarks here and there but no direct hate.

Do I write smut? And what kind? HO BOY do I write smut. I like my boys a bit desperate, a bit roughed up, a little bit kinky and wet & messy. I have also delved a bit into dub-con too, which can be fun. I like to treat sex as first base and all the relationship stuff and feelings as much later stages.

Do I write crossovers? No, because if its within the same cinematic universe etc I wouldn't count it as a crossover.

Have I ever had a fic stolen? I don't think so, but I've never checked

Have I ever had a fic translated? I don't think so either.

Have I ever co-written a fic? I have not!

A WIP I'll never finish? Dance with the Devil, a Hannibal fic I wrote between seasons 1 and 2 but then season 2 came out and my conclusion was sort-of ruined (as I partially managed to guess some plot points) so I gave up on the fic and will never finish it.

Writing strengths? character voice, one shots, possibly action and fight scenes that lead into smut.

Writing weaknesses? plot cohesiveness in longer fics and the sustained attention to actually write them

Do I like foreign language dialogue? when it's needed, sure, but also I speak English and stopped formally learning German about 10 years ago so my grasp of other languages is not the best.

⚰️ - if your character lost a loved one, what would they do? would they grieve and move on? try to bring them back? cling to their remains?

mihangel has been dead before so his feelings on a loved one dying would be. Complex. because he knows how dark and empty it is to be dead but he also doesnt know if he's remembering right. maybe the afterlife is a beautiful place & he just doesnt know b/c he got pulled back into being alive? he would mourn & try to move on but there's still that nagging feeling of 'what if they really are alone'.

strangeways can talk to ghosts by partially entering their timestream and partially pulling ghosts into the normal timestream and She Would Do This. however she'd soon discover that talking to a dead loved one is actually a Terrible way to your live your life but there would definitely be a long period where she'd Want to sulk & be miserable about it and talk to them in the ghost world, even though it takes a lot of effort for her & only the most determined souls make fully lucid ghosts. especially if they've been dead for a while & are starting to fade, she'd still try to bring them through to this world to talk even when its incredibly draining for her. someone else very close to her would have to convince her to stop. she would be the kind of person to think 'i ALWAYS have to carry this around with me & be sad about it' even though she has an extended lifespan. she would think 'in a thousand years i still have to be upset about this' even if realistically the pain would have faded by then.

🕰 - what would your character do if they were stuck in a time loop?

YAYAYYYA TIMELOOP I LOVE TIME MESSED UP NESS!!!! they both have Time Things going on hehe

mihangel would. not be coping well with that. in his backstory a Time Thing happened to him that meant that events changed and he is no longer dead, and he would probably think that this is the universe tryng to right itself & fix time by putting him in a loop or a pocket dimension of something. he would be freaking out about being stuck in a timeloop (is he aging? will he ever die? is everyone else looping to or is it only me stuck here? how do i even begin to get out?), she has anxiety which isnt helping. i think (depending how long she's there) she would go through a period of like. doing slightly odd but not actually harmful things just b/c there are significantly less consequences. go for 2am walks by herself. be slightly weird in public. climb up the side of a building and sit on the roof all day.

strangeways would go straight to the 'oh hell yeah, no consequences!!' stage where she'd think 'well if the universe doesnt sort this out in a few days i'll deal with it then, but in the mean time i'm gonna steal a tv and set a couch on fire and go drinking & go to the loudest concert possible' but there would be a deep undercurrent of The Dread. she would just think well surely this will sort itself out soon right????? as she goes out for the 173rd night in a row of wandering around in the dark looking for something interesting to do, as a distraction while she hopes the problem will go away. she'd think to herself 'oh wow i could use this to study so much' only to find that her notes have unwritten themself you know. idk maybe the room wouldnt reset but you get the idea.

🌃 - what would your character do if they were trapped in a labyrinthine city that's alive?

THEYD BOTH BE HAVING SO MUCH FUN AND ALSO BE DEEPLY UNSETTLED BY THE EXPERIENCE YIPPEE

knowing them they'd probably be there together, so. mihangel would be trying to figure out where they are & how to get where they're going & get out again without getting lost/trapped/consumed by the city/etc. probably trying not to touch the walls. he'd be more Disguested when he works out the city is Alive i think. morbidly fascinated but more wanting to just Get Out Of There. strangeways would be pushing button and picking stuff up & being like 'haha wow this is kinda creepy & cool' while trying to cover up that she's actually really unsettled by the whole thing. mihangel would be interested in Looking Around, and strangeways would want to try & communicate with the city, whether or not they can work out if thats possible.

ik youve probably said this b4 but i forgor: venice is good with history but what's the general knowledge on sonic + friends? is this all folk stories or textbook material?

Textbook material!! Most of their adventures are well known, but a lot of details and events are messed up. Silvers existence as a whole has been basically erased. Someone made very sure that there was nothing identifiable about this mysterious person who occasionally helped sonic in some of his most famous adventure.

Overall the public knowledge is that he was a really important hero, but the actual stories about what he did are inconsistent and either dramaticized or watered down. Venice knows more than average, and has done a crazy amount of research on popular theories. He has a pretty good idea of what actually happened, or he thought he did before Silver showed up. The most well documented events is probably the War, just on account of the resistance members and their accounts of the events (despite this, silvers identity was still erased. Bet that was fun to do) topics they probably covered from sonics era are the War, flooding of station square, the events of sa2, black arms invasion, mostly just planetwide threats that everyone knew about when they happened. Things like the black arms invasion are the biggest victims of inaccuracies.

There are folk stories too, some that are true!!! The events on Starfall islands is probably one of them, and theyre also something Silver got scolded for saying were real in history classes : (

As for sonics friends, a lot of knowledge on knuckles is obscure. They know he existed, but angel islands isolation kept a lot of details of his personal life secret. Amy and Tails are more well known, theyre both pretty big heroes in their own rights (i really love the idea of sonic and co. having fans in the future btw. Hermes is everything to me) tails is also very well know for his work in technology on the islands, and his work inspired a lot of interest in tech and chaos energy among mobians. Creams also a lesser known name, but shes got up there with amy and sonic as she got older.
