You know what I want? US-Americans adding a “in America” or “in the US” button to their posts whenever they make a blanket statement about anything. Because I don’t know how to tell you this, but your truth is not the universal truth - and if everyone else is capable of distinguishing their truths by adding “in Germany” or “in Puerto Rico” to their posts I sure hope US-Americans can do it too.

And no “never having been taught about the world outside the US” is not a fucking excuse - the internet is international, and you’re old enough to deal with it... so do it.
