okay so as a gen 5 stan who does adore the story in bw and bw2, and now that gen 5 has experienced both a vicious hatedom that wouldnt hear a single positive thing about the games, and now a super protective fandom that insists they were perfect and had zero flaws... can we admit now that the bw1 story at least was. a little mid.
anyone else think theres some kinda bizarre love triangle going on between the player and the dlc siblings cause thats all i took away from it lmao. cant wait for part 2 so i can take carmine on a true american date
there being a tag on this site under “me too unless your a jew” being used by people who only take a little arguing that they think brown people deserve to be raped and brutalized and actually they deserve the land over those “greedy” arabs
Just to clarify, I don't hate Palworld just cause it's clear a fair amount of the designs are stolen assets/AI generated, it's also cause it's got racist adjacent content. That bothers me the most, really. And also people saying "It isn't confirmed that the designs are AI generated" when ummm. Just look at them. There is near no thought put into them with random little "bits" slapped onto them for detail. It's just marketable. That or they steal fan designs. Also the developers previous projects include NFTs and unfinished games, one of which being a BOTW clone. Like IDK the game may be fun but I wouldn't want to support it at all???? I don't get people ignoring all this just cause it's "fun" and 4chan levels of edgy.
The last time I cried over missing my boyfriend was when I was drunk and 3 time zones away. Now Im sitting in my own bedroom, sober as can be, and I cant get him out of my damn head
If your characters were in the ABO universe, what would they each be? (Leon, Guzma, Plumeria, Kukui, Molayne, Kalani, any of the grunts?)
So... *sweats* um full disclosure, I'm not the biggest fan of ABO. I don't hate it or anything (I've read a few entertaining ones in my time), but I don't think I'd ever find myself writing one. That being said, this is all hypothetical for fun, so I don't actually have an issue with answering this question. However, when I look at my story, I can't help but think about how fundamentally conflicting the ABO system is with the concept of māhū, something that is mentioned and explored multiple times.
I'll talk more about all that below the cut, but I'll go ahead and leave the TLDR here with the answer to your question:
Alphas- Kukui, Plumeria, B.
Betas- Molayne, Kalani, Leon
Omegas- Guzma, A.
For those that are not familiar, māhū is an identity in indigenous Hawaiian culture that translates roughly to a gender that is "somewhere in between." Thus, the entire notion of gender and what makes a man a man and a woman a woman is far more fluid than, say, a traditional western interpretation. I say that this is fundamentally conflicting with ABO because the ABO system is, by design, rigid- all people are broken up into very specific categories based on both gender and sex. Also, although it is not depicted this way in every ABO au, an individual's free will can often be overtaken by instinctual/biologically driven impulse. Needless to say, this is extremely counter to many aspects of the story, but most importantly, one of its underlying themes about how people grow and change over time (for better OR worse) and that the world and relationships (whether they be romantic, platonic, familial, or whatever) are NOT black and white.
when clock turned midnight last night (er this morning) a vaporeon outbreak showed up... 16 defeated and THIS BABY BOY SPAWNED
IM ABOUT TO EV TRAIN A THIRD GODDAMN VAPOREON IN THIS GAME
LOOK AT HIM GO
i have a whole indulgent silly au where basically Akari is truly isekai'd from a world like ours, where pokemon is a game/franchise, and lands in Hisui absolutely hyped out of her mind to be there with real pokemon. Rei is the 'should be' protagonist and is the main one fed up at Akari for treating 'life like its a game'. Also she ends up appointed to work with Ingo, because he's also an isekai'd guy and Rei and they just have a bunch of found family adventures.
Also i headcanon that ingo never learned to make pokeballs and always just buys them. some habits are hard to break!
Be careful: nostalgia likes to link arms with fascism.
I've seen a lot of talk about how millennials are especially prone to nostalgia. How technology's rapid evolution left our childhoods as a distinctly different world than our present. How we cling to our childhood hobbies and IPs as a way to heal our inner children, etc etc.
And there's nothing inherently wrong with nostalgia. I still play pokemon games and am in the middle of rewatching Yu Yu Hakusho. You're allowed to love the things you grew up with.
But we need to be careful.
Conservatives, nationalists, and fascists *love* to evoke a ☆mythic☆ idealized past- when men were men, when America was great, upon which to build a fixed and solid identity. Any progress away from this idealized conception of the past is thus decay- corruption and ruin. Nostalgia underpins a fascists worldview and allows them to justify any violence against the forces that would further degrade society away from its perfect past. Protecting the past comes to justify all sorts of things in the present.
We need to be very careful about what we allow our nostalgia to mean to us, what we allow it to excuse or justify.
This is not *just* about Hogwarts Legacy, but Hogwarts Legacy is a good example of it. When you can invoke your nostalgia- that golden beautiful past where you felt safe and special- what are you willing to ignore? What harm are you willing to allow? What will you turn a blind eye to if doing so makes you feel like you've recaptured some of the magic from the past?
Tread carefully, friends. This HP bullshit may have been a test that you passed, but it will not be the last time when our sense of nostalgia may conflict with progress and morals. Always remember that you can love something from the past without letting it dictate the future.

Day of the Dead pokemons, they were made 2 years ago but I decided to finally finish them this year, they are inspired by several elements from the "Dia de Muertos" celebration
ZUKALAKA is based on the "Calaveras de Azucar"
PANDEMORT is based on "Pan de Muerto" in some of its more traditional forms
COMPARKA is based on the floats for the "Dia de Muertos" parade
And all of them carry elements from the traditional altars, like "papel picado" and candles
Hey can we talk about like, the political and economic state of the world right now? Have you seen the shit happening in Hoenn?
i really DONT want to get into politics. like, yeah, wallace became champion and now hes stealing our tax money for elaborate water features in his bedroom and is calling it "the swamp" or whatever. ive seen the magazine covers with him posing in bed with his shit eating grin holding a glass of wine or whatever.
im sick of hearing it!! like what do you want me to do? challenge him? i only have 1 pokemon and its level 7. leave me alone.
