opinions on heckyl being great at dancing?

Heckyl is 100% good at dancing, or at least, he can pick it up quickly.

He's graceful and a quick learner, so show him something a couple times, give him like, no more than a couple hours and he will have it down. Ivan and Phillip taught him how to do dances like the waltz and such, it took him a fair while, and across a couple weeks but he managed to learn the (standard) waltz and the tango, which surprised the hell out of the rest of the rangers who had no idea.

Does anyone here remember when I decided to grab three randomass characters from two different seasons of Power Rangers, NONE OF WHICH HAD EVER APPEARED ONSCREEN TOGETHER, and went, hey, I wonder what the hell would happen if we shipped them together? Just for shits and giggles? And wrote a coherent 6k oneshot that actually made their character arcs deeper and make more sense than the show's? Now that was a proper crackship!

(Anyway, I was putting together the last of the playlists for this series and stumbled upon my Matt Griffin/Heckyl/Levi Watson fic. And remembered how batshit insane I could be back in the day. Because I don't remember how I thought of this concept, just that it worked out weirdly well. Also led to some of the funniest scenes in the series when Chase/Ivan found out that Heckyl was not only Riley's brother's Soulmate, but that Heckyl and Matt had another gold ranger as a Soulmate. I'm still tempted to write the world's funniest family dinner ft. Heckyl, Matt, Chase, Ivan, Brody, Levi, and Preston.)

This a small thing I wrote using my Kendall!DarkEnergem AU haha… I’m sorry kind of

Very small Ivan/Kendall, also an angst that I apologize for. Okay I kind of apologize for.

Kendall is taking heavy deep breathes, she can feel the darkness of the dark energem that rests in the claws of the Snide.

However she is in a defensive stance in front of the small alien behind her, refusing to give Snide the satisfaction that she was afraid in any sense.

But in reality she was terrified, not just for herself but for Keeper and the rest of the rangers. They were out fighting greenzilas and she was over here fighting a literal death or life situation with the ring leader of this whole thing.

“One touch of the dark emerges is all it takes..” Snide said as he held up the dark energem in clear view. As it shimmered with a grey glitter, Kendall felt the purple energem vibrate with power, shaking hard at the feeling of the dark energy.

“I’ve always wondered how this work.” Snide said as he glanced down to look at Keeper, with a grin on his face. Kendall widened her eyes, though Snide couldn’t tell with the helmet on.

She turned her head to look at the alien who was looking up at Snide in fear and surprise.

“On an old FRIEND!” He finally yelled as he leaped towards Keepee with a bright yellow glow in his eyes.

Keeper shut his eyes closed, preparing for the worse of what was yet to come. He was fully prepared to immediately hear his own screams.

However it wasn’t his screams that he heard.

It was Kendall’s.

And he heard the roar of the purple energem.

Keeper opened his eyes to see that both of his companions had moved to another side of the base, he saw Snide had Kendall pinned against the floor, she was deformed and was being held down by his sword against her neck.

He also saw that Snide had the dark energem pressed against her neck.

The area was steaming with smoke, the skin around her being burned to the point her flesh was being revealed, under the touch of the dark energem. Was a black mark slowly forming.

The pain was to much, Kendall couldn’t help but to scream in pure pain. The screams was mixed with a painful roar, it was like the plesiosaurus was also feeling this.

Keeper loudly gasp when he saw the purple energem around her neck glowing with might and fury. Keeper could even see the energem start to crack.

“No!”

“GET OFF OF HER YOU BASTARD!”A voice of a male came, that was filled with rage. Snide snapped his head up, the next second Snide was tackled to the side, releasing his hold on Kendall which allowed her to gasp in relief.

Heckyl, Tyler, James, Chase and Koda were face to face with Snide, anger written all over their faces. Koda had his teeth gritted, allowing the most angered growls to escape his lips.

“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!” Shelby yelled as she, Ivan and Riley immediately rushed to their mentor. Ivan was the one to immediately scoop her up in his arms, panic all over his face as he looked down the large burn mark on her neck, that now had a black tattoo on top of it.

She couldn’t move, the only thing that was able to move was the rapid movement of her chest as it went up and down, her energem now was capture of a large crack in it that glowed a furious black, though she tried to contain her screams for the sake of the people around her, that didn’t stop the tears that rain down her face.

The pain was unimaginable.

Ivan looked at her hair to notice a long stripe of purple in it that was slightly glowing.

“Ivan…” he heard the the raspy voice of Keeper as he turned his head to see that Zenowing and Phillip were right next to him. Keeper moved his hand to his chest.

“Your energem, use your energem!” Riley said, which made Ivan turn his head again to look at Riley and Shelby, he could tell they were afraid for their mentor. Scared of what would happen.

Ivan looked back down at Kendall who was looking back up at him with desperation in her now purple eyes, Ivan could see she was in a lot of pain, he lifted his hand to dig his energem out of his shirt, when he took it out he revealed the gold energem that was already on the task.

It glowing a brilliant yellow, Ivan in his ears cold even here a screech. That was assumed to be the winged dinosaur that’s spirit was attached to it.

Using his hand, Ivan gently guided the gold energem towards the purple energem, when they made contact the two colors formed to glow a flash of white.

The glow of the purple energem stopped, now allowing them to see the crack that was in it very clear now, the crack was large on the side of the energem. And there was a faint glow that came from the crack.

This crack was interfering with not just the dinosaur, but it was also interfering with the holder of the purple energem.

Ivan noticed that Kendall’s eyes turned back to their beautiful bronze color, the strike in her hair lowered its glow as the seconds went by., the mark on her neck however remained there while the burn around it didn’t bother to go anywhere as well.

She slowly closed her eyes after a final large breathe, going into unconsciousness.

Ivan places his chin atop of her forehead in both of a protective manor and in some form of comfort.

He, Shelby, and Riley turned around to see that Snide was standing up with a laugh that was of pure evil.

“I have always wondered what that would do to a ranger,” he said as he looked at the energem of darkness that remained in his grip. He lifted his sword over his shoulder as he stared at all of of them with a small.

“Tell the purple ranger we’ll keep in touch.”

Before they could even make a move, Snide vanished in a cloud of dark fog, that made the men that was in the front cough.

“The bastard got away!” Tyler said with a large groan in his voice.

“We’ll find his ass next time..” Chase said as everyone turned to Keeper as he stood up using the help of Zenowing and Phillip.

Keeper slowly walked towards Ivan who held the purple ranger very close to him. Keeper shook his head as he slowly kneeled in front of her, placing his hand on the back of her neck to where the mark rested.

“My dear friend, why did you do that?”

Matt knows it's a bad idea to go to Prince Phillip's New Year's Eve party in Amber Beach. Especially considering he doesn't really know the rest of the team that well, but Riley and Kaylee had practically begged him to go, and he physically cannot say no to his younger siblings, so here he is, standing in a corner watching everyone talk and drink.

He's watching Ivan talk with Riley and Shelby. Watching the way his hands move around rapidly while he talks about something that Matt assumes he is very passionate about. He's watching so intently that he doesn't even notice when Kendall and Phillip come up next to him until Kendall says: "Earth to Matt? Hello?" while waving her hand in front of his face.

"Huh? Oh, hey guys." Matt responds, taking a sip of his drink. "What's up?" he adds, and the other two exchange a look before turning back to the new Silver Ranger.

"What's up is that you've been staring at Ivan all evening, Matt." Phillip says, with a small smirk on his face.

"Have I now? I don't remember doing that. Are y'all sure you have the right person?" Matt responds, getting exasperated sighs from the other two.

"Just tell him that you like him, Matt!" Kendall exclaims loud enough for people to look towards her. Riley looks over at the three of them with a confused face before turning back to Ivan and Shelby.

"Who is Matt going to tell that he likes them?" Heckyl asks after walking over to the other three.

"No one!" Matt answers, glaring at Kendall and Phillip, who both just laugh. "I'm walking away now, buh-bye." Matt says, waving at the other three, before he walks across the room.

Matt still just continues watching everyone. Not anyone in particular so as to not appear weird, but his eyes do seem to always trail off towards the knight that is currently talking to some random ladies who have gotten his attention. He rolls his eyes when he looks away from Ivan to see Kendall and Heckyl send him matching, knowing smiles.

After an hour of standing in the corner watching everyone, Matt decides to sit down on one of the many many couches around the room. And, once the ladies Ivan was talking to see Phillip's brother and talk to him instead, Ivan sits down next to him.

"Hey, Ivan." Matt says, awkwardly taking a sip of his drink.

"Hello." Ivan responds, making sure not to look over. After a few minutes, he asks: "How has your night been going," much to Matt's surprise.

"Yeah, uh, really good." Matt answers, "Yours?" he adds after a few seconds, trying to make the atmosphere as comfortable as possible.

"Not that great." Ivan admits, "I need another drink if there's going to be another who knows how long until midnight of this." he continues, making a point to gesture towards everyone talking and laughing when he says: 'of this' making Matt chuckle.

"It’s eleven thirty-five, so under an hour. But yeah, I get what you mean. The last time I went to a party, I was still in high school and was forced to go by my friends and my ex." Matt responds looking around the room and becoming annoyed when he sees the questioning look from Phillip who has taken it upon himself to save his brother, who was clearly uncomfortable, from the women Ivan was talking to earlier. He sends a glare the prince's way before turning back to the knight.

"Do you want to get out of here?" Ivan asks abruptly, catching Matt by surprise.

"And where would we go?" Matt wonders, raising an eyebrow at the question.

"Anywhere but this room, honestly. We could go to the kitchen, I'm sure it's empty." Ivan answers.

It’s not. Matt thinks, knowing that Chase had pulled Riley into there a few minutes ago. In fact, he was just about to go in there and make sure they weren't doing anything stupid when Ivan sat down.

"Chase and Riles are in there."

"Together?"

"Yes," Matt states, Ivan hums, "Why d'you ask?" he adds.

"No reason. None at all." Ivan responds, taking a sip of his drink and looking away from the questioning stare of the, not that much, taller man.

"Perhaps we could go into that room." Ivan says, pointing to the door on the other side of the room they were in. Matt saw Kendall and Heckyl go in there a while ago. He knew they were just talking, but he didn't want to be anywhere near Ivan when around Kendall and Heckyl. Especially not now, considering Kendall had obviously told Heckyl about how he likes Ivan.

"Heckyl and Kendall are in there." Matt answers, glancing at Ivan before turning back to watch everyone again.

Matt looks around the room again and notices no one looking at him or Ivan. He remembers that he saw a door near the end of the foyer. He stands up, extending a hand for Ivan to take.

"Where are we going?" The knight asks, taking Matt's hand.

"Somewhere away from all of this. Isn't that what you want?" Matt responds, dragging Ivan with him and making sure no one is watching them. Especially not Phillip, Kendall, and Heckyl.

They walk into the entryway, and Matt lets go of the other's hand.

"Thank you, Matt." Ivan says, after a little while of silence. Matt smiles softly before sitting down on the one loveseat in the room.

"No problem, darlin." Matt responds with a wink at the other, making Ivan blush slightly.

He looks pretty when he blushes.

Ivan blushes even more, and Matt panics because he doesn't know if he said that out loud or not.

"Did I say that out loud?"

He's fairly certain he didn't, but you never know. And, judging by the way Ivan hides his face, he most likely did. Ivan nods a little in confirmation, Matt sighs before saying: "It’s true, y’know," making Ivan jump a little bit at how direct he was.

Matt turns to Ivan, a small smile on his face, and he takes a sip of his drink.

"Can I kiss you?" Ivan asks abruptly, Matt almost spits out his drink. Instead, he nods in answer and downs the rest of it before he grabs Ivan by his coat and kisses him aggressively.

They break apart after a few seconds, both trying to see how they feel about the kiss. Ivan seems to have figured it out first because he kisses Matt again, slow but passionate, unexpected but welcome. Very, very, welcome.

"There are people coming this way." Matt explains after he sees the look Ivan gives him when he breaks the kiss again.

He takes Ivan's hand and pulls him through a nearby door, which just so happens to be a closet door.

He closes the door just before Kendall and Heckyl enter the room.

Matt and Ivan hear a little bit of whispering, but they can't make out what is being said. They hear the faint sound of the door close and let out sighs of relief.

"So… this is awkward." Matt says quietly, wishing that he was anywhere but here. Ivan nods a little in agreement. "But, we should probably stay in here in case anyone comes looking for us." he adds, Ivan nods again.

They stand there in silence until Ivan has his lips on Matt's again.

Thank fuck. Matt thinks before he starts to kiss Ivan back.

The kiss is harsh and passionate and Matt doesn't know how he ever lived without it.

He feels teeth nipping at his bottom lip before he breaks from the kiss, taking a moment to breathe. After he catches his breath, he starts trailing kisses down Ivan's neck.

"Matt~" Ivan whispers, Matt just smirks before continuing to trail kisses down to the knight's chest while unbuttoning his shirt. "Matt." Ivan says, making sure to keep his voice quiet so he doesn't alert anyone as to their whereabouts.

"Yes, darlin?" Matt asks, taking a second to just look at Ivan.

"Are you certain we should be doing this?" Ivan questions, taking in a shaky breath when he sees Matt smile.

"We don't have to do anything you don't want, sweetheart. It's all up to you." Matt says, Ivan thinks it over for a second. He wants this. He wants to have moments like these with Matt.

He nods, but Matt doesn't continue. Matt does however, whisper in his ear: "You gotta use your words. Do you want me to continue? Yes or no?" The words Matt says along with the usual effect his accent has on Ivan makes the Gold Ranger shiver.

"Yes, please." Ivan says, and Matt goes back to kissing his way down Ivan's body before going back up.

"Ahh~" Ivan whimpers when Matt nips slightly at his pulse point. Matt has to resist the urge to suck at the area so Ivan doesn't get bombarded with questions.

“Fuck, I love the sounds you make.” Matt whispers, making Ivan groan and throw his head back in pleasure while moving his hands up to Matt's hair.

Matt starts kissing Ivan's chest again.

"Fuck~" Ivan moans when Matt nips at a scar on his torso that was left there from his first fight with Fury, and Matt starts to leave a hickey there, making Ivan whine and moan.

Matt places his thigh in between Ivan's legs, and the knight starts to move against the taller man's thigh in small, desperate movements, whining and breathless.

"Shit, as much as I would love to continue this, darlin. We gotta go back out there. It's almost midnight. They're gonna be lookin for us." Matt says, in between kisses and breaths.

"Dammit." Ivan curses under his breath and starts to get his shirt buttoned again.

They both walk into the main room and join everyone again.

"You look good like this, sweetheart. With your hair all roughed up, and your lips red and bruised from kissing. Fuckin gorgeous." Matt whispers into Ivan's ear when he thinks no one is looking.

When midnight hits, Ivan decides to kiss Matt on the cheek, making the latter go a slight shade of red. After the kiss, Matt looks around the room to see Kendall, Heckyl, and Phillip smirking widely. He knows he's gonna have to explain to the three of them what happened.

hii !! i absolutely LOVE dino charge its probably one of my favourite series ever so heres my gift to you in the form of everything i have in my drafts at the moment

the team loves tyler, first and foremost. he's their Red and they'd do anything he asked (and they know he'd do anything for them), but tyler has absolutely no clue. they gravitate towards him. they’d all die for him and he has no idea. they listen to everything he says and argue like kids about who his favourite is. tyler could technically rule zandar because all he’d have to do is ask phillip to do something and he wouldn't even hesitate - he’d brag to the other rangers that HE was the only one who could do this for tyler and suck it losers he’s winning. tyler is oblivious to the power he wields

despite their best efforts in learning about modern times, ivan and koda were not fit for the workplace. the cafe proved too much of a challenge, and kendall was tasked with the unfortunate job of - in the kindest way possible - firing them. instead, they chose to play to their strengths and use what they already know to be interactive staff for the museum at their respective exhibits

being a ranger team means working incredibly well together in and out of the suits. the museum cafe runs like clockwork and deliveries are unloaded and stored more efficiently than the museum has seen in years. it’s a combination of their hightened competence and abilities, and their natural need to work as a single unit. what allows this seamless teamwork? the magical bond to the energems? the Morphing Grid? the Power? who knows; but any other rangers - active or otherwise - who find themselves at the museum could spot the team from a mile away

in the search for his father, tyler got used to travelling. never staying in one place for too long and always being on the move became natural, but choosing to stay in amber beach seemed was so easy he hardly even noticed. as soon as everything died down, as soon as they were no longer needed, he stopped for a while and thought about it. it didn’t take him long to realise it wasn’t amber beach he felt bound to, but his rangers. he hadn't felt like he had a home until he met them, and he'd follow them anywhere

heckyl is intelligent - there's no denying that - but he absolutely refuses to admit that he doesn't know much about earth technology or culture. with everything that happened he never really had the time to properly learn everything, which led to an interesting altercation where he thought a toaster was some kind of dangerous explosive. koda and ivan (who are very proud at how well they’re doing in their Modern Lessons) had to explain its actual purpose. he will take this to the grave.

chase shows them all rugby. no it is not like football. zandar has a team, so world cup tournaments get pretty intense when zandar plays new zealand. ivan starts cheering for zandar with phillip, and it’s the most dramatic betrayal the cave has ever seen

kendall and chase's biggest challenge when the team first formed was teaching koda how to pronounce his dinosaur name because of how language had evolved while he was in the ice. it was a long first few battles.

during the Modern Lessons with ivan and koda, riley and kendall got too enthusiastic about catching the two up on all the modern tech and end up rambling/inventing something new. the lesson completely derailed into scientific terminology that neither were used to, and it ends in tears for one or both of the "old" ones. they went to hide in koda's cave and would only talk to keeper

riley so willingly got in the car with tyler and shelby in the first episode because some unexplainable force told him he could trust them, and that in time he'd come to care so much for them. Red and Pink are just such comforting colours, you know?

tyler sometimes forgets that ranger stuff isn’t applicable to other people and always brings up “rexie” in conversation, so most people assume he has a dog. it’s not until someone sees him talking to the t-rex skeleton at the museum that they begin to think otherwise

i feel like shelby and poisandra would be unexpected best friends in like battle scenarios (“i love your nails” while doing a backflip followed by a “thanks! pink is my favourite colour you know!” and a morpher blast). the boys are baffled by this

Any headcanons for Dino Charge??

VERY MUCH SO-

Firstly, their entire friend group is queer:

- Shelby, Tyler, Chase, & Ivan are all bi, Koda is aroace, Riley is a gay trans dude, & Kendall is a lesbian (to me 🏳️‍🌈✨)

A good chunk of them are also neurodivergent:

- Shelby & Riley are autistic, & Tyler & Chase have ADHD (Tyler is medicated, Chase is not-)

Okay, general headcanons now:

- The energems don’t stop you from aging or make you immortal, at most they slightly increase your lifespan, & make it so that you age more gradually/gracefully, but that’s it; the only reason Koda & Ivan haven’t aged is because their energems’ power was able to preserve them in the states they were in (but now that they’re no longer in those states, & don’t need to be preserved anymore, they’ve started aging again)

- Shelby & Tyler are 18, Riley is 19, Koda & Chase are 20, Ivan is 21, & Kendall is 26 (I think canonically) in s1

- Shelby’s love of dinosaurs has been her main special interest since she was a kid; she was also most definitely a horse girl as well lol

- She was also also definitely a One Direction girlie in 2012, even if she’d prefer to leave her 15 year old self in the past jsjs

- She & Riley are autistic besties & I will not be arguing on this 👍

- Kaylee eventually realizes she’s a lesbian, & she & Chase amicably break up before she & Kendall start dating :] (in my mind Chase is ~21 in s2, while she’s ~24, & Kendall’s 26/27)

- & Oh, I guess Chase & Riley end up together together too (I’m not the biggest Chiley shipper but I do see & support the vision~)

- Kendall starts going to therapy after the events of the series (we all know she needs it,,)

- Tyler also starts to unpack his abandonment trauma in therapy post-series (because he also needs it, actually ♥️)

- They DIDN’T give the space-time continuum sickle cell anemia, & instead they just killed both Heckyl & Snide, & the edgy MacGuffin energem never existed either; Supercharge’s finale isn’t real it can’t hurt me :)

That’s all I’ve got for general headcanons (for now) sksk I hope this has been an acceptable yap session~

The Griffin siblings are either really humble when complimented (Matt and Kaylee) or they are really flustered when complimented (Riley), there is no in-between.

I know people usually see Chase as this cool suave guy because he is, but that man can not HANDLE being called pretty.

Tyler's "I know" is more of an "I know, my girlfriend tells me every day!" than a vain, "I know"

I know she's not a Ranger, but none of the Rangers fit the 'Gets called pretty' "I know" box, and Poisandra deserves to get called pretty because her fiancé is a bitch.

Power Rangers Dino Charge: End of Season Review

So I thought making reviews for every Power Rangers season that I've seen would be fun! (And I'm ignoring the physics lab report I have to do lmao)

Don't really expect anyone to read this but eh this is for fun

Fave Character: Prince Phillip III of Zandar. He's my little bitch babygirl <3

Fave Ship: Chiley!!! Green/black ships my beloved. My fave rarepair is Phillip/Ivan. The gay devotion in knight/prince ships is peak

Fave Non-Romantic Relationship: Kendall, James, and Phillip. Auxillary Rangers ftw!! (fuck Zenowing)

Fave Episode: The Tooth Hurts! Chiley ep of all time

General Thoughts:

Dino Charge was the first season of Power Rangers that I'd ever seen, and was the thing that got me into the fandom, so I'll always have a soft spot for it. But even rewatching it recently has it hold up.

The characters in this show are what I think makes it one of the best Power Rangers seasons, and the best Neo Saban. All of them are so great, and while they never got too much depth (curse you adults that think kids can't handle complicated things) but they're still such interesting people. Dino Charge had a large cast, and they didn't always handle that many people that well (the auxiliary Rangers unfortunately get little to no attention), but the cast, in my opinion, is what made it so great.

The main cast is so lovable. Tyler, while he can be a little bland at times, is a little cutie so he's great. Chase is an interesting character that's very fun to watch. Koda is the heart of the team and he's a perfect little angel. Riley is our canonically gay (via the actor) overachiever representation. Shelby is also overachiever representation, with academic pressure from parents too! Then you have Ivan. Our loyal and chivalrous knight out of time. The gay devotion is real with this one.

I'm going to cut myself off here, because you probably get the point. I love the cast of Dino Charge. Barring Zenowing and Keeper. They're just useless to me

And because these characters are interesting people, they also have such fun dynamics with each other. I love that the Rangers really feel like a found family. You can examine any relationship between the Rangers and have something to talk about. I mentioned Kendall, Phillip and James earlier as my fave platonic dynamic, but there are a lot more to look at. Tyler and Chase as himbo bros, Riley and Shelby as gay besties , Koda, Kendall and Chase with their familial bond as they were the first Rangers together... they're all great.

And the villain situation in Dino Charge was.... interesting.

The concept of fighting a bounty hunter that captures his monsters from all over the universe is cool, especially because it gives an explanation as to why the monster of the week fights so hard - they'd win their freedom if they brought back an energem. But Sledge himself was kind of a boring villain to me. He never actually has any kind of motivation for getting the energems - we don't know if he wants them for universal domination or to sell them to the highest bidder. So he felt kind of flat to me. I did love Poisandra, Curio, Wrench and Fury though. I liked that they had more personality. And Poisandra is my girl and I love her. She should've gotten a redemption arc. Fury was also an interesting character because of his rivalry with Ivan. I do wish they explored it more, but what we did get was cool.

And after Sledge was defeated, we got Heckyl and Snide! Quite obviously a Jeckyll and Hyde reference, these two were much more interesting to me than Sledge. Heckyl's backstory is so sad 😭 and I love him more for it. The concept of a villain infiltrating the Rangers place of work and pretending to be their friend was so awesome. I wish he was a double agent for longer (and that they didn't wipe his memory of their base) but I liked it.

Then you had Arcanon for a little bit. This was so fucking stupid. Dino Charge made an original villain in Sledge, so I think they shouldn't have bothered with trying to work Arcanon in there (his Sentai counterpart was the head villain). It felt too rushed and they could've introduced the dark energem with something else.

And then surprise! Sledge again! Also hated that to be honest. They defeated him the first time. Why bring him back.

Technically I have to if I want to talk about Dino Charge (unfortunately) so all I'm going to say is that it's stupid and I hate it. Ivan and Koda never leave and they never fuck up the timeline with that dumbfuck idea thanks <3

(Genuinely there's a discussion to be had about the character assassination that was committed by making Koda and Ivan - who had accepted that they were men out of time and living lives with their new family - went back in time for some fucking reason, but that's for another post)

Now! Onto something I actually want to talk about! The Sentai adaptation vs the Power Rangers. I've seen both, so y'all are getting my thoughts as to how well they adapted it. I think Dino Charge did an amazing job. They didn't take what happened in Kyoryuger and copy that exactly (cough cough Samurai cough cough). They made their own story and used the footage well

I also want to talk about the thing that makes Power Rangers iconic - the actual Ranger bit. I'm talking about the power source, the suits, the zords, and the Super mode.

I really liked the energems as a power source. The idea of ancient stones created at the dawn of the universe that bonded to dinosaurs, then people, is really cool. I have issues with the "energems give them immortality" bit (because I'm sad that they have to watch their friends and family die) but it really does make sense. They are bonded to something that is ancient and powerful, and there should be some side effects from that.

Now for the suits! (One could argue that the suits are more of the Sentai's influence but I'm treating them as solely Dino Charge right now). I really love the Dino Charge suits. They already get points in my book for not having fucking lips (which I hate with a burning passion), but they do look cool on their own. I love solidly coloured suits that don't have white or black pants. The helmets are also really cool, and I love the dinosaur heads incorporated in them. So the DIno Charge suits are great to me

The zords in Dino Charge are also awesome. They look really cool. I wish they could be small to hang out with their Rangers, but alas, we can't have everything 😔

The Super mode in Dino Charge was a pretty solid one. I liked that Rexy could be small to fight alongside Tyler. Don't love the white on the suit, but at least his normal suit is a nice, solid red.

So yeah! That's my Dino Charge review. Thanks for sticking around after that word vomit lol. I love this season so fucking much
