Soooo I've been shitty sick and around the holidays binged The Blood of Youth and of course latched onto about 70% of the side characters. That's how it always goes, especially when a show has so many of them.
I was wearing my jade green pajamas with gold accents when I watched the first few episodes so falling in love with Jade Deity was a given, but also oh my god I wanted to pinch Jin Yan's cheek. They both actually had me in tears by the end and it wasn't tears of rage like I'd (lovingly) assumed.

jinxuan

jinyu
lowkey boring but rly cute and loyal
jinyan
horny af. rly funny and schemey
Greetings, esteemed eunuch-rater! I ask thee: how would you rate each of the five tboy eunuchs individually?
I'm afraid I would absolutely need to rewatch those Youths before giving any kind of accurate rating on that, on account of how it has been Quite Some Time since I saw the show (and I'm 100% sure I did not wholly follow what everyone's deal was in the first place).
However, I may not even have to opine, because I feel almost certain @eunuch-enjoyer5 has done this already somewhere! I can't find the post, though. Did I dream it? Either way, though, I'm going to pass the question over to him, because his enjoyment of Those Particular Eunuchs outshines mine by far.

Jade: Firstborn of Water, Life Nourishing And Power Giving
Jade is the Chinese core value, its pecuniary worth being only a rough expression of the cultural sense. In the heterogeneous thought of the Central Plains, jade has become a cross-cultural symbol, encompassing all the characteristics of the divine.
The centuries-old mythologization of jade is paradoxically based on its basic physical characteristics.
Thus, the regularity with which the gemstone was found in rivers and springs gave rise to the strong belief that all jade originates from water.

when i was like 16 i had my main oc be a baker or a cook and pretend he was on hells kitchen. i gave him a boyfriend who was a designer and really rich. for some reason rich guy was also on hells kitchen (was he also sometimes a cook? no clue its been a decade) and they fell in love on the show and neither of them won.
i dont think i ever drew them together, but i sure as fuck have a few pages in an old sketchbook that are all cakes and cupcakes baker boy made (that i found on pinterest or sth and copied down for some reason)
#i also used those ocs for literally everything#baker boy was also a harpy or a dragon or a fucking youtuber#design guy was usually human (but ~*special*~)#theyd always start out at least slightly antagonistic#god i wrote a whole thing where i had them be some kind of deities? or like baker was a deity and designer was the personification of a sta#or sth like that???#i later turned designer into 4 different ocs (some of which even have names lmao)#but baker is still my base guy to put into whatever i want (though hes more jaded and tired and no longer a baker usually)#his essence is still there though and i still give him the same 3 names lol#i dont even remember what reminded me of this anymore

So I’ve been working on a book idea and finally got chapter 1 done. With my recent venture into paganism, I’m also checking in with the deities who do appear in the story to try and make sure my representation of them is as accurate as possible.

Ouroboros Ouroboros meaning and origin The ouroboros symbol, often depicted as a snake eating its tail to form a circle, is one of the oldest and most recurring motifs in the mythology and iconography of various cultures around the world. Next, I will tell you about some of the most notable origins and meanings of ouroboros in different cultures: Ancient Egypt: One of the first known records of the ouroboros comes from ancient Egypt, where it was associated with the serpent Uraeus, a protective deity represented as a cobra. Ouroboros was related to the cycle of life, death and renewal, and was often found in amulets and funerary jewelry. It was also linked to the idea of eternity and the unity of time. Ancient Greece: In Greek mythology, the ouroboros is sometimes associated with the serpent Ladon, who guarded the Garden of the Hesperides and is often depicted as a serpent eating its own tail. This symbol is related to the idea of constant regeneration and the infinite cycle of nature. India: In Hindu tradition, the ouroboros is found in the image of the Ouroboros Ananta Shesha, the cosmic serpent that supports the god Vishnu as he floats in the cosmic ocean. This snake represents eternal time and the infinite cycle of creation and destruction in the universe. Alchemy: During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the ouroboros became an important symbol in alchemy. It represented the union of opposites, such as the masculine principle (the Sun) and the feminine principle (the Moon), and symbolized transmutation and the search for the philosopher's stone, which conferred immortality. Other cultures: The ouroboros also appears in Chinese mythology, where it is known as the "Jade Dragon." Additionally, it is found in Mesoamerican cultures such as the Aztec, where it is associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl. The general meaning of the ouroboros is the idea of an eternal cycle, renewal, the unity of opposites and eternity. It is also interpreted as a symbol of self-reflection and self-transcendence, where the individual seeks understanding and wisdom by exploring their own limitations and potentials. Overall, the paradox of the ouroboros challenges our conventional understanding of time, renewal, and the relationship between opposites. It invites contemplation and reflection on the interconnectedness of all things and the complex nature of existence. The paradox inherent in the symbol has made it a powerful and enduring motif in various cultures and philosophical traditions. In summary, the ouroboros is an ancient and universal symbol that has evolved throughout human history and culture, representing profound concepts related to the cyclical nature of life and the pursuit of wisdom and transcendence. His legacy endures to this day as a reminder of the richness and depth of human symbolic thought.
