Look at him.
He doesn't even realize he's the villain of his own story.

love how both the 73′ movie and the broadway revival portrayed jesus and judas’s interaction during “Everything’s Alright” as less of an argument and more of something softer.

this kind of makes it sadder for me. judas did his thing with calling mary out for buying ointment and she did her thing of trying to reign in the situation and then unlike some other productions where jesus dashes after judas to argue he just calmly starts singing. a lot is going on right now with the crucifixion being a few days away and with what judas is doing by going after mary, a very stressful situation is being created (for jesus). but some frustration was hashed out earlier in “What’s The Buzz” and right now it’s giving a jesus who’s focused on his fate and trying to get judas calm and appreciate the moment right then and there. i mean judas is still freaking out and for good reason but this type of interaction that doesn’t come off as confrontational and ultimately still leaves things unresolved sets a bittersweet mood for the rest of the musical.
also not to mention both scenes LITERALLY give us a face caress & hand holding. what more parallels could you want??
