    "What is it?" Cora asked worriedly. They ushered her upstairs in a rush.

   "Halazia attacked and are basically making humans their pets. Halazia is giving those assholes a taste of their own medicine. You don't need to be caught up in that when you've helped so many of us and tried helping many more." Namjoon said.

    Suddenly the door slammed open. "Smells like human and hybrid. This human must have quite the collection of pets."

     "Wonder how the bastard is going to like being one of our pets." Another laughed maniacally.

"Shit!" Yuta cursed.

"Those are the Kings of Halazia themselves!" Soobin told the human.

The Kings better known as ATEEZ scoured the floor level.

  Yunho surprisingly found the adoption papers with a permission slip for everyone of the hybrids there to be able to work as well as their own bank accounts and everything. "Hey guys! Come here!"

   As soon as they walked into the little office they saw several pictures of multiple hybrids smiling happily with a gorgeous human girl. Wooyoung and Seongwha weren't about to fall for this human's trick. In fact Wooyoung and Seongwha went upstairs to find her.

   "We will protect you, Cora." A voice said.

   "You saved us when you didn't have to. Most of us would be dead if not for you." A second voice said.

  "You are our saving grace. Our family. You protect us provide us with a home and freedom and we will always protect you." Said a third.

   "I love you guys so much! You're the best family a girl could have!" A female voice replied.

The two hybrids smirked before storming into the room. Luckily for them the girl was just in front of them so Wooyoung grabbed her wrist harshly taking her down with them.

"Get back here assholes!" All the hybrids screamed after them before following.

  "Here she is, Captain." Wooyoung said pushing her into the dragon hybrid.

    "What's a human doing all the way out here anyway? Shouldn't you be in the town with the other humans?" The dragon asked as he held her in front of him.

    "Why would she? She's the only good human in this rotten town.She saw how our previous owners treated us and she had a fortune as well as this house from her deceased father." Jay B said as they all made their way towards them.

"She was a sympathizer. Here in this little fucked up place that's as good as being a hybrid.The only reason they don't bother us is not only because we live out here but her family is very well respected." Lisa said as Vernon snatched her back. Cora was slightly shaken and nuzzled into the Rottweiler's chest. That caused the Kings to let out dangerous growls.

  They growled back fiercely ready to protect their girl at any cost. San pushed a hidden button on his ear ring which led to a large group coming in and surrounding them as Mingi stalked up to Vernon and yanking Cora into his chest.

    "What's going to happen to them? They won't be punished for trying to protect me will they?" She looked up at Mingi with scared eyes terrified for her family.

"They'll be fine but you're coming with us." Mingi led her outside and to the car pulling her into his lap. She stiffened not daring to move. He rubbed circles into her hips as she slowly relaxed in his hold. She soon fell asleep.

   "She is very concerned about those hybrids. She didn't ask what was going to happen to her but wanted to make sure they weren't in trouble for protecting her." Mingi reported after leaving her in her new room with the door locked.

  San decided he liked the girl and she smelled amazing so he went into her room relocking the door before cuddling with her. About an hour later Seongwha and Wooyoung stormed angrily into her room waking both San and Cora as Seongwha yanked her to him roughly as Wooyoung gently but forcefully grabbed San. Cora tried pulling away from the harsh grip causing Seongwha to tighten his grip more. She whimpered from the harshness of his hold on her wrist.

  "Stop hurting her! She was literally just sleeping! If we hurt her for no reason how are we better than the humans we overtake?" San demands.

    "What's going on here?" Yeosang and Yunho walked in the room. Yunho saw the grip Seongwha had on the girl and her pained face. "What happened?"

  "I came to her room to cuddle and took a nap with her. We were asleep until these two barged in yanking us out of bed. Seongwha is hurting her she tried getting her hand out of his painful grip but of course he seems to think that means he needs to tighten his grip instead of loosen it." San said glaring at Seongwha as he spoke.

  "Let her go." Yunho orders.

   "Come over here, sweetness. Yeosang ordered when Seongwha finally released her. She timidly walked up to him as soon as she was within reach he pulled her to his chest running his fingers through her hair and pushing her face into the crook of his neck. She calmed instantly. After seeing her with the Rottweiler he realized she had hybrid behavior so she wasn't like those other humans. He also did his research about what that Persian cat hybrid had said about her family. He had gone to give Hongjoong and Mingi the news when he ran into Yunho and they heard the commotion.

   He wrapped his arms around her and went to the Captain's office with her to hand them the files.

   "Oh she's up." Hongjoong said surprised.

   "Yeah awoken harshly and with a bruised wrist curtesy of Seongwha. San was in there napping and cuddling with her when him and Wooyoung barged in. Yunho and I caught them. I was on my way here to give you guys this. The Persian wasn't lying." Yeosang replied.

  "JaeBeom isn't one to lie. I was a sympathizer which was the worst offense in the town. I had to buy them so those horrible people couldn't hurt them anymore. You saw the paper work for the guys I'm guessing. That was the only way they could be free. I'm not their owner I'm their sister." She said glancing at the hybrids.

  Hongjoong gave her a small smile which she shyly returned.

  "Cute." Mingi and Yeosang whispered. Yeosang pushed her towards Hongjoong watching her with a reassuring look. When she stood next to his desk he pulled her into his lap much to her surprise.

    "Lucas and the others mentioned you guys were going to make humans your pets and give them a taste of their own medicine. Does that mean they will get their old owners as their pets?" She asked. The boys laughed at how excited she sounded at the thought.

"Would you like to see what that would do to them, Cora?" Mingi asked.

  "I would love to see what they'd do. I'm sure whatever they would do is long overdue for those horrible people." She had a look of disgust on her face.

They laughed.

"Why don't we go get your little family so you can see them get their pets, hm?" Mingi asked.

  "Can we?" She asked excitedly.

   "Of course. It'll just be us and San going though. Mingi, go get him and meet us in the car would you?" Hongjoong asked leading Cora and Yeosang out. He took them to the car and gave her to Yeosang who happily pulled her onto his lap. She blushed causing the hybrids to chuckle fondly as the last two hybrids entered the car.

***Later***

They pulled up and as soon as they got out she was tackled by many hybrids.

“Can’t breathe! You guys weigh as much as an elephant! Get off fatasses!”She chokes in an exaggerated fashion. “Puh-lease. Knock it off bitch.” Jessi laughed. They got up helping a pouty Cora up.

“What are you guys doing here?” Yuta asked.

“Our cute little human wanted to see you guys get your pets. She’s very excited about it honestly. “ San said grinning at her.

“Don’t treat her like the others. She has enough shit she’s had to go through because of her family and other people. If there was ever a human alive who knew just how cruel humans can be it’s her. Just because we were the only ones she had doesn’t mean she didn’t try to save the others too.” Lucas told them.

“Wooyoung and Seongwha are the only ones going out of their way to hurt her. They most likely think she’s putting on some sort of an act and they refuse to fall for it.” Mingi sighed.

They watched as Cora joked around with her family and even managed to make Hongjoong smile and Yeosang laugh. Soon enough they picked their old owners as their pets. Cora looked on with an evil glint in her eyes.

“Let’s hope they show you more mercy than you have them. Honestly, I’m praying that you face the same shit they did. I’d do worst if I was them.” She spat bitterly.

They whisked her back to the limo where she was cuddling in Hongjoong’s lap.

Meanwhile….

Wooyoung went through her stuff at the house. He found a picture of them when they were younger. This was his noona. His Dove. He had to apologize. He grabbed the photos and stuffed them in his backpack. When he got home and saw they were there he ran to the living room.

“Dove-noona.” He whispered. “Youngie?” She turned around only to be engulfed in a hug by a sobbing Wooyoung.

“I’m so sorry, noona. I’m sorry I hurt you. I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you. I missed you so much. After seeing him beat you I thought he’d killed you. I’ve held such a hatred for humanity ever since.” He said. “I’m so glad you’re okay! I never forgot you. After you disappeared I knew I had to do something for the hybrids in town and they became my family.”She just snuggled into Wooyoung’s arms so happy to have home back.

“She’s the girl you always talked about? How do you know?” Seongwha asked. He pulled out the pictures.

“You were trying to find something criminal about me weren’t you, Youngie? You and Seongwha have been thinking I was acting this whole time right? That’s why you’ve been so hostile. You wanted me to be a villain.”

“I’m sorry, Dove. But I’m so glad I did. Otherwise I never would’ve known it was you.”

“I’m also sorry for hurting you. I know now that you really are as sincere as you seem. It’s a pleasure to meet Woo’s Dove.” He smiled.

“And we didn’t take you to be our pet either. We took you cause you are ours.” Mingi said. “Color me confused. What do you mean?” She asked.

“You’re our mate.” San responds taking her from Wooyoung and pulling her into his chest nuzzling into her neck. “But, you’re all mates and Wooyoung and Seongwha hated me? That makes no sense.”

“They wanted you too. They just didn’t want to want you which was why they wanted you to be acting like you were a good person. When your Rottweiler friend took you back we all growled. We didn’t want anyone else touching you.” Yunho said. “Well that was not a response I was expecting. But, they are my family. We made our own pack. My dad died when I was 16 and I’ve been with them since. So I already act more like a hybrid half the time.” She explained. Jongho and Yeosang took her to their room and cuddled getting to know each other.

“So you guys like to sing too.”

Opening the door, Jinyoung walked in with a tray of food before closing the door behind himself. The house was mostly filled with predator hybrids, it was plain stupid to bring a bunny into the mix.

Baby had blankets and pillows surrounding herself, making a nest out of both their belongings.

“I got food,” He announced, placing it beside the nest.

Jinyoung made it so that Baby never had to leave the room, never had to run into the other hybrids of the house.

“Thank you,” Baby cooed softly, “Come in,”

She patted the spot beside herself, Jinyoung crawling in beside her while Baby snuggled up beside him. Jinyoung inhaled deeply, the scent of roses filling the air.

Bunny hybrids tended to give off a smell when they were ready for mating.

Jackal Hybrids only ever mated with one person, for life.

“Will we ever leave?” Baby asked softly.

“I’ve been here for eight years,” Jinyoung explained, “I don’t know,”

There was a depressed sigh, Baby’s ears pulling down beside her head.

In which Park Jinyoung, a possibly murderous cat hybrid, makes you question everything you thought you knew about yourself.

You overslept the next morning. You were shocked when you woke up and saw that it was already twenty minutes past the time your alarm usually rang. Half-running into the bathroom, you took a quick shower and then gathered your books for your Monday morning classes. When you stepped out into the living room Jinyoung was already in the kitchen, making coffee.

“Good morning,” he greeted you lightly.

You blinked at him. “Uh, hi.”

“You’re later than usual today. I was going to wake you up but I thought that you might need some extra sleep,” Jinyoung said softly. He looked rather tired himself. His pajama pants hung off his hips and his hair was slightly disheveled as he looked at you sleepily. You bit your lip and tried not to stare at his gorgeous bare face while you took the coffee he handed you and sipped it. You hissed when it burnt your tongue.

Jinyoung was startled. “Careful, it’s hot!”

“I know, I know. I’m just running a little late so I need to rush to class,” you explained as you finished the coffee quickly, letting it burn as it went down your throat. You suddenly remembered the message you’d gotten in the morning. Chul-soo had texted you telling you that he was free to meet you in the afternoon to discuss your Economics project. “Oh! And I’m going to be back a little later than usual, I have to meet somebody after lunch. You can order in or eat something yourself, right?”

Jinyoung stiffened. “Who are you going to meet?”

You paused in the doorway to put on your shoes and leaned down to tie the shoelaces. You didn’t notice the tight expression on Jinyoung’s face as you answered him. “Just this guy that Nari introduced me to. It didn’t work out with him, but he’s giving me advice on this Economics paper that’s had me stressed for a while. Maybe I can salvage my grade!” you said cheerfully, straightening up once you’d tied your laces. “Well, I’m off, bye-“

“Wait.”

You were surprised as Jinyoung stepped forward and wrapped you in his arms tightly, giving you a warm hug. He’d started to make a habit of this and you couldn’t bring yourself to mind as he rubbed his nose against your neck and squeezed your waist tightly. You laughed and hugged him back before pushing him away gently.

“Jinyoung, I’m late.”

He nodded, stepping away from you and looking slightly satisfied. “Okay. Bye. Have a nice day.”

You struggled your way through your morning classes, and spent most of lunch refining the research proposals that you wanted to run by Chul-soo. Your mind kept drifting back to Jinyoung and what he was doing at home. It struck you that being cooped up in the house all day must be so boring and you wondered how most hybrids managed. Apparently they watch a lot of romance dramas, you thought to yourself lightly. You didn’t know whether to find the fact that Jinyoung seemed to think human dating was identical to cheesy dramas cute, or disturbing. It wasn’t his fault, though. He clearly hadn’t had a lot of positive experiences with humans.

Your phone buzzed with a text as you worked on your proposals, and you checked to see that it was from Chul-soo.

Hey. Something came up. Do you think we can meet some other time to discuss your proposals? I can’t really leave my house right now.

You sighed, disappointed. You’d skipped lunch in preparation for this, how could he cancel last minute? It was true that he was doing you a favor, but he could be a little more respectful of your time. You drafted a careful reply.

Okay, I guess that’s fine. Although my research proposals are due tomorrow so I guess I’ll have to run them by you after I’ve already turned them in, in that case.

Chul-soo’s reply was instantaneous.

Damn, I didn’t know that. It’s just that my hybrid fell ill this morning and I don’t want to leave her alone in the house in case she gets worse. Why don’t we meet at my place instead? I’ll send you my address if you don’t have a problem with it.

That sounds great!

Relieved, you gathered your stuff and hurried to drive down to his house. It was getting late and somehow, you didn’t want to leave Jinyoung alone at home for too long either. Chul-soo’s apartment was easy to find in a nice part of town and you knocked on the door excitedly. Chul-soo opened it within a few seconds and gave you a pleasant smile. He looked a little tired but he was polite enough to welcome you in.

“Hey! Come on in. I’m sorry about this. Soyi came down with the flu this morning and she hasn’t been feeling okay,” he told you apologetically.

“No, that’s fine! I understand. Like I said, I have a hybrid too. Although he hasn’t fallen sick yet,” you explained.

“Come on in. We can sit at the dining table.”

You followed Chul-soo into his apartment. It was nice and spacious, and you set your stuff down on his dining table. One of the bedroom doors creaked open and you spotted a woman peeking out of it shyly. She was extremely pretty, despite having a red nose and rather watery eyes. You smiled at her and waved. Chul-soo turned and ushered her into the room.

“Soyi! Come say hi. This is a friend of Nari’s. I’m helping her out with her Economics paper,” he explained.

The girl came out of the bedroom shyly, her face a little pale from the sickness while her nose was red. As she came into view you recognized the little grey ears peeking out from her hair in an instant. She was a mouse hybrid, undoubtedly. You suddenly remembered Jinyoung’s criticisms of mouse ears and smiled to yourself as you held out a hand for her to shake and introduced yourself. “It’s nice to meet you, Soyi! I’m so sorry for barging in like this when you’re ill. I hope you feel better soon!”

Soyi bit her lip and smiled at you, but as she stepped closer, her smile dropped. You could see her cute button noise sniffing in the air. She looked at your hand and hesitantly reached out to shake it, but the moment her skin touched yours, she squeaked and dropped it before running all the way back to her bedroom and slamming her door shut.

You blinked, shocked. “Did I… did I do something? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to!”

Chul-soo seemed surprised too. “No, I don’t know. Soyi’s a little shy with strangers but she doesn’t usually do that. I think she smelled something.”

“Huh? Do I smell?” you wondered, embarrassed.

Chul-soo laughed and waved you off. “Not like that. Don’t worry about it. She’s a mouse hybrid. They scare easily and she’s just sensitive because of the flu. Why don’t you sit down and take out your research proposals while I make some coffee? I’ll check on Soyi and be back in a second.”

You nodded and opened your laptop eagerly. Chul-soo’s advice was extremely helpful; he guided you on the right direction to take with your research proposals in between going into the bedroom and checking on Soyi. You had to admit that he was taking excellent care of her. In the half an hour that you were there, he made her soup, brought her medicine and a wet towel and went to check on her about thrice to take her temperature. Even Nari wasn’t that affectionate with her hybrids. Once you were done discussing your project and got ready to leave, you felt like you had to point it out.

“You take really good care of Soyi,” you said with a smile.

Chul-soo rubbed the back of his neck shyly. “Ah. She means a lot to me. I rescued her and a couple of other hybrids from this testing facility a couple of years ago. Most of them went to the shelter but Soyi got attached to me and I decided to adopt her myself. We’ve been together almost three years now. She’s shy at first but we have a lot of fun together. It’s… it’s kind of the reason why I can’t date anyone.”

You blinked at him. “You said you had a girlfriend.”

“She kind of… is.”

Your eyes widened. People do that? They date their hybrids? The way Chul-soo’s face flushed showed that he was slightly embarrassed at having admitted that to you. But you were still reeling in shock. Your fingers froze on your bag as you realized that here was this perfectly normal, ordinary guy saying that the hybrid he’d rescued had been his girlfriend for the past three years. You hadn’t imagined that this could be possible. Your mind flashed back to Jinyoung, and his constant attempts to kiss you and show you affection non-platonically.

“Is that… how does that work?” you gasped out.

Chul-soo looked startled. “What do you mean? I thought you would understand. The reason Soyi freaked out is because you reek of feline hybrid sex pheromones. Your hybrid’s scent is marking you pretty strongly. Soyi’s a mouse hybrid so the strong male cat scent scared her away. I figured you and your hybrid had something similar going on since he’s been leaving his scent on you.”

“No! We don’t! I mean…” you trailed off, still shocked by the information. “I don’t know. I don’t think we do. How can that even work out? Are hybrids capable of falling in love with humans, don’t they just have to love their owner no matter what? Isn’t it like taking advantage of their servile instincts-“

Chul-soo’s eyes widened. “Whoa, whoa, slow down.”

“It’s true! They’re used as sex slaves!” you hissed.

“That doesn’t mean they’re not capable of giving consent or falling in love with a human!” Chul-soo insisted with a laugh. “Trust me. They have to obey their owners, true, but that doesn’t mean they always like them. It’s a forced obedience most of the time. They like some owners more than others. They feel attraction to humans in addition to their own kind. We all have the same sex organs, it’s not impossible!”

“You can really have a normal relationship with a hybrid?” you wondered.

You didn’t know how to respond to that. You really didn’t.

You drove home in silence, your mind spinning from what you’d found out at Chul-soo’s house. He’d told you quietly that he wasn’t the only one. That there were a lot of people who fell in love with their hybrids, people who were afraid to show their relationship in public for fear of being judged; either for falling in love with a part-human or for having romantic relations with someone who wasn’t in a position to deny your advances. But it wasn’t like you were forcing Jinyoung into anything. He was the one who wanted to kiss you, he was the one who had said he loved you. And no matter how much you pretended, your own attraction and affection for him was undeniable.

The question was, how much did Jinyoung understand what he was saying?

You opened the door to your apartment and stepped inside. Jinyoung was lounging on the couch as usual and he sat up straight as soon as you entered. You stopped to remove your shoes and he stepped closer to you, reaching his arms out to hug you. You raised an eyebrow and side-stepped him.

“Jinyoung…” you warned lightly.

He blinked and dropped his arms at his sides innocently. “What?”

“Don’t you think you’ve marked me with enough pheromone scent to last for the rest of the day? I came across a poor mouse hybrid this afternoon and she couldn’t bear to be in the same room as me.”

Jinyoung flushed red as he realized that you’d caught him in the act and he turned around, slouching back to the couch while muttering under his breath. He flopped down onto it heavily. “Good. Why would you want to be in the same room as a mouse hybrid anyway? They’re stupid and get scared of everything!” he complained.

You raised an eyebrow at him. “You can’t keep dousing me in your pheromones whenever I leave the house, Jinyoung, that’s not okay.”

He looked hurt. “Sorry.”

You took a deep breath and sighed, sitting down beside him on the couch. You were tired and Jinyoung was surprised when you snuggled closer to him and rested your head on his shoulder. He stayed still for a few moments. Then he gently put his arm around you and pulled you closer so that you were comfortable. 

“I’m really confused,” you mumbled.

“About what?” he asked you gently, his fingers stroking your arm.

“What we’re doing. You and me,” you admitted quietly. Jinyoung was listening to you, his dark eyes looking down as you snuggled against his chest. You suddenly felt the need to talk to him, to try and make him understand the mess that your mind was in right now. “Jinyoung, you have to know what this is isn’t normal. Humans and hybrids don’t… they don’t kiss, certainly not like the way you kissed me that night. That was the way lovers kiss. That’s the way you kiss someone when you want to be with them, in a romantic way or a sexual way.”

Jinyoung blinked at you. “I know,” he said calmly.

“But you don’t feel that way about me. I’m just your owner. That’s the only reason you feel affection for me, Jinyoung. I take care of you and it’s your instinct to be grateful and obey my commands in response. So we can’t do things that people in romantic relationships do.”

“Who said it’s just gratitude?”

“That’s how it-“

“It’s not.” Jinyoung shifted slightly, so that he could look down at you. One of his hands came up and gently tilted your chin so that you were looking up at him. His dark eyes were filled with adoration as he smiled.

“It’s true that I haven’t met a lot of humans in my life. But I love everything about you. I love how you respect me as an equal, I love how you’re willing to stand up for things you believe in. And I love how you care about me so much. But it’s not just that. You’re beautiful, you’re hard-working. You’re the only person I’ve ever wanted to open up to. I’ve never even felt this way about another hybrid. I love you. As a person, for who you are, I love everything I’ve learned about you until now and I want to learn more. I want to hold you and make you feel as loved as you make me feel.”

Your heartbeat thudded and you stared up at him, shocked. You had never expected such a heartfelt speech from Jinyoung. He sounded like he knew exactly what love was, even better than you did. You met his gentle, adoring gave for a moment before his words finally overwhelmed you and you leaned up to kiss him.

Jinyoung met your lips eagerly, pulling you into his arms as he balanced you. His lips were soft, warm and caring as he kissed you. You had never felt so good in someone’s arms, had never craved anyone’s affection as much as you craved Jinyoung’s in that moment. He let out a low growl as your teeth grazed his lip and kissed you harder. There was no holding back. This kiss wasn’t entirely the same as the way he’d kissed you the night you were drunk. That had been raw and instinctual. But Jinyoung lips were slower, his fingers gently sliding into your hair and stroking it as his lips caressed yours.

You pulled away with a gasp, looking up at him with glazed eyes. Jinyoung leaned down and pecked you again, and again, and you loved the soft, affectionate way he kissed you repeatedly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pressed your forehead to his.

“Jinyoung, you’re sure you want this? You don’t just feel this way because I take care of you-“

“Nari was my owner too, and I never felt this way about her,” Jinyoung insisted, his fingers moving down from your hair to stroke your cheek and jawline. His eyes pierced into yours desperately as he tried to convince you. “I certainly never felt any sort of affection for the old man who was my first owner. It’s not because you’re my owner, it’s because you’re you and I don’t know how else to explain it.”

“I think I understand,” you mumbled.

Jinyoung kissed you again, his tongue sliding into your mouth and a low purr coming from his chest. You gasped against his mouth and then pulled away, placing a finger on his lips to stop him from kissing you again. You were both breathing heavily and Jinyoung’s eyes were filled with passion as his eyes flickered down towards your finger on his lips.

“If we’re going to do this, we should… we should talk about stuff,” you mumbled nervously. “I want to know more. What was the deal with your first owner? Why did you hate me so much when you first came here?”

Jinyoung blinked and then slowly loosened his grip around you. He blinked thoughtfully as he sighed, rubbing a thumb over his own swollen lips. “I didn’t… I didn’t hate you. I just hated humans in general and you were one of them,” he admitted.

“Why? Was it something that previous owner did?”

Jinyoung took a deep breath and looked you in the eyes. “He wasn’t just my previous owner. He was my father.”

You snuggled into Jinyoung’s arms as he talked about his life before he was carted around the shelters. It was the first time you’d both sat together and talked like this. You loved the sound of Jinyoung’s voice and the way he shyly told you everything about his past; how his mother had been a cat hybrid like him, and how his father (her owner) had fallen in love with her. You learned that his mother had died while giving birth to Jinyoung and that his father had been devastated at losing her. He didn’t care much for Jinyoung, blamed him for taking his mother away from him, and kept him in a separate part of the house where he’d never have to see him and Jinyoung could never leave.

“He didn’t treat me as badly as you’d think,” Jinyoung muttered. His voice had gotten quieter progressively as he talked about his father. “He still fed me properly, I had clothes and my own room and I was allowed to talk to the servants. He was rich, so he’d let me get things I wanted. But he never came to see me, never let me leave the house. It was pretty clear that he just considered me a burden, some stupid child that he’d never even wanted who killed the love of his life.”

You bit your lip and looked up at Jinyoung with tears in your eyes. “He sounds awful.”

“I was kind of relieved when he died, actually,” Jinyoung admitted with a dry laugh. “I thought maybe I had the chance to go someplace nicer. I didn’t realize that the shelters were shit-holes where hybrids fought each other and had rankings and hierarchies and a social system of their own. I was stupid. I got into a few fights and after that, none of them would talk to me. Nobody wanted to adopt the anti-social cat hybrid either. I was stuck there for a long time.”

You wrapped your arms around him tightly. “Jinyoung, I’m sorry that you had to go through all that. I’m so sorry. You don’t deserve any of it.”

Jinyoung laughed slightly and pressed his cheek to your hair. “Are you crying?”

“No,” you sniffled.

“Don’t cry. I don’t want to ever see you cry, especially not because of me. I’m fine. I’ve never been as happy in my life as I am right now, here, with you,” he told you gently. He tilted your head up to his and gently wiped away a tear that escaped the corner of your eye. “You make me happy. Having you in my life makes me happy.”

You bit your lip and smiled at him, leaning up to peck his lips gently. “Having you in my life makes me happy too, Jinyoung. Thank you for trusting me. It can’t have been easy.”

“It wasn’t. But I’m glad I did.”

A/N: And less than 24 hours later, here’s another update for you folks! I’m just churning this stuff out at this point, I’m not even sure if it’s any good. 

Also, I have some unfortunate news. My original plan for Antipathy was to end the series once the one week (the one week reader promised Nari she would take care of JInyoung for) was up. This series is getting too long for my liking, so I’m going to stick to that. Reader took Jinyoung home on a Wednesday, today’s chapter is set on a Monday so that’s two more days in Antipathy-verse and then it ends. I might do an epilogue to show how they’re faring a year or so later if I feel like it. 

But yup! That’s the plan! Expect two to three more parts to Antipathy! (Not including an epilogue, that’s still doubtful).
