Lex Luthor (Smallville)- Chapter 1

Lex had been through so many ordeals in Smallville.

At some point it had become almost routine to wake up in a hospital bed. That’s why he wasn’t surprised this time when he looked up at the familiar ceiling. The smell of sterilizers was rough. But as normal as his life could get he supposed.

“Mr. Luthor.”

A doctor walked into the room, relief written on the man’s face.

“You’re lucky to be awake. With the wounds you had, it’s a miracle you didn’t remain in a coma. I was certain after yesterday we’d lost you again.”

“Coma.”

Another common occurrence. How many times had he heard those words?

“What happened?”

The doctor suddenly looked pretty solemn.

“I see your amnesia hasn’t improved."

“I remember who I am. Where I am. This is Smallville isn’t it.”

“Correct, but what else do you remember?”

“Apparently I was in some kind of accident.”

“What about your friends, family?”

“If you’re referring to my shell of a father, I don’t think there is much I should hope for.”

The doctor took notes, but said nothing.

“Mr. Sullivan came by earlier to check on you. He seemed genuinely worried. So did Mr. Lang.”

Lex’s body froze.

“Mr. Lang…are you saying they survived the meteor shower?”

Said doctor’s eyes widened.

“Incredible, you remember the meteor shower, yet your memories of your friends are scrambled.”

This was making very little sense to him. Last time he checked Chloe’s father had moved away, and Mr. Lang had died when Lana was just a child.

“LEX!!”

The scream from around the corner caught his attention. Someone raced over, yanking the door open as they bolted in.

“Ms. Kent, you need to stay outside. Mr. Luthor hasn't fully recovered yet.”

Lex’s eyes drifted over in the direction of the person now standing before him. At this point he was convinced his mind was playing tricks on him. Because this wasn’t Clark Kent.

For one, you were female. He could have been wrong, but you looked like an exact replica of Clark, if he had breasts and slender hips.

“Who…Who are you?”

He couldn’t help but ask. Because nothing was adding up. The crestfallen look took him by surprise. He couldn’t remember the last time someone had looked so defeated of the prospect of him not recognizing him.

“Lex..it’s me..(Y/N) Kent. I’m your friend.”

It was decided.

He might have officially lost his mind.

In Case You Missed It: Meet your new Jonathan Kent. Michael Bishop has been cast as Jonathan Kent on Superman & Lois. The Australian actor is joining The CW's superhero drama in season 3, taking over the role previously played by Jordan Elsass. Bishop recently made his American film debut as the lead in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin in 2021. He's best known for his work in Australian TV and films including Grace Beside Me and Swinging Safari, as well as short films Shelter, Skin Like Bark, Detention, Pet Rock, Hunter and Gatherer, and Indiana. Last month it was announced that Elsass, who has played one of Clark Kent's (Tyler Hoechlin) teen sons since the series premiere, is exiting the show after two seasons and that his role would be recast. "Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season 3 due to personal reasons," Warner Bros. TV said in a statement. According to sources close to the situation, Elsass' exit was the result of a private matter and not a workplace-related issue. Show-runner Todd Helbing discussed his to bring Jonathan Kent more into the central focus in season 3. "We certainly want to fold Jonathan more into the superhero stories," Helbing previously said. "What Clark says to him about the Kryptonian tech, you could take that in many different ways, so we'll see which road we ultimately go down. I have four brothers, and everybody on our staff has sort of similar experiences, so it's fun to play that [brother] dynamic. “I’m being careful, trust me. Yes, I will. Thanks dad.”

You hang up the phone, sliding it into your pocket.

It’s taken some adjusting to be away from your house so often. Since you started college, you’ve been trying to slowly integrate into your freshman year. It was tough with the whole hero thing, but you couldn’t exactly just turn it off.

Then there was the situation with Lex.

Just thinking about it makes your face red. That day in the barn. You could feel his kiss every time you close your eyes. He’s made a habit of visiting you on weekends. But since your midterms were about to start, and he was managing so many events, the two of you haven’t really had a chance to discuss your relationship. Share another kiss.

Much to your disappointment.

Your eyes move to the wall. There’s an array of pictures decorated around the room. A few with Lex of course. You can barely go a few minutes without thinking about him. It’s sort of driving you crazy.

A trip to Smallville was what you needed.

You have to face him, because your brain won’t give you the satisfaction. It would be smart to take your car, but you sort of want to feel the wind against your skin. It feels like it’s been too long. You grin, heading to a secluded area on campus. You do a scan, right before you take off. Smallville is possibly a minute away.

Running that is.

Your legs dig into the dirt when you feel your phone vibrate. Pulling it out, your heart skips at the message from a certain someone.

“I know you’re busy, but if you have some time to spare I’d like to see you.”

You type a response quickly, shoving it back into your pocket. As your mind strays, you take off again. Reminiscing on all that’s happened.

He’s been through a lot of things in these last couple months, but above all else, it was nice to have your best friend back. When you get to his place, you’re moving at normal speed. You snicker to yourself, thinking of the lecture Lex would give if he found out you were using your powers again. He was a bit overprotective when it came to you.

Stepping into the mansion, your hands slide into your pockets. The double doors are open. Lex is seated at his desk, sifting through documents, as per usual. For a while he doesn’t notice. You don’t say anything. You just watch him.

“Our friendship will be a thing of legends.”

That’s what he’d said to you that day in the loft. You didn’t truly know it then. Back then he’d been helping you get Leo’s attention. Other guys were so far out of the picture for you. It took almost losing Lex for you to see past it all.

“Working hard as usual.” You spoke.

His eyes lift slowly, and he’s wearing that look. The adoration he shows has always been there. So you wonder how long he’s been looking at you this way and you really never noticed.

“Do you want to go for a walk?”

Lex smiles at the question, dropping his work, as he stands.

“I’d like nothing more than for you to whisk me away and tell me all about your freshman college experience. Have you figured out what organizations you’d like to join?”

He’s right next to you, ready to hear everything you have to say. You aren’t sure if it’s because he’s being so adorably attentive, or just his abundance of casual suits. But at that moment, you see him. The misunderstood billionaire who spent his entire time in Smallville trying to be a better person.

“(Y/N)?”

He’s looking right at you, and those blue eyes look ready for anything you have to say. It’s almost instinct, you reach out, palm sliding against his cheek as you pull him in for a kiss. Lex’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise, but he leans in, pulling you closer.

Your heart is beating so quickly, you have no doubt he can feel it against his chest. You pull away after a few heated seconds, and Lex sighs as you part. He means to question where the spontaneous kiss had come from.

But your hands slide down his shoulders, and you leave a kiss on his neck. It seems you aren’t the only one with that little weakness. His eyes close, and he hums, as you pop two buttons of his shirt. Your lips move a bit lower. Right at his collarbone, over his heart. Lex only pauses when something seems to dawn on him.

“Wait…”

His movements are a bit delayed due to the current distraction. Lex’s hands settle on your shoulder as he pulls back to look at your face.

“(Y/N) are you..on red kryptonite?”

You can’t help it, you smile bashfully.

“I promise this is one hundred percent me.”

Lex swallows.

“We really should go for that walk.”

He tries to fix his clothes, maybe calm himself down. But you can hear his heartbeat as clear as day. You shake your head with the same smile, and you back him up. He stumbles just a bit, legs hitting the front of his desk. He regains his composure, clearing his throat, and you lick your lips, staring at his.

So inviting.

“(Y/N).”

This time his call sounds almost like a warning. You love the fact that he’s a little hesitant. He’d never push you into something you’re not ready for. Perhaps he just never knew you would be this assertive.

Intimacy was always something that made you a little embarrassed.

“Lex..” You coo.

He bites down on his lip, and you’re a bit stunned when he switches your positions. He lifts you easily, and you’re now sitting on his desk. He slips between your legs easily.

“Don’t tease me.”

It’s an order, and you barely get a word out, because he’s once again claimed your lips.

So much for talking.
