Geddes Line Profiles (Series 1)

What with yesterday having seen the publication of the final episode of Geddes Line, I thought it’d be nice to showcase all the profiles I did for all the characters who made their debut in this series. This post covers all the characters officially introduced in the first half of the series.

MAISY URQUHART - Proprietor of the Station Hotel, Kyle Abbin, Jura. Unknowingly set off the whole rotten saga of Geddes Line. Silver Wolf. (Episode 1)

LYALL URQUHART - Maisy's daughter. Known as Lanky by her friends, due to her rather scrawny build. One of Moonzie's friends. Silver Wolf. (Episode 1 - previously mentioned in SPCM)

AMANDA PELUSA - Resident of Kyle Abbin, and frequent odd-jobs woman around that town. Avid enthusiast of vintage motorbikes - later becomes a courier for A&K Geddes Freight. Cat. (Episode 2 - previously mentioned in SPCM)

JESSIE-PEARL MONTGOMERY - Owner and head waitress of Jessie-Pearl's, a traditional American-style diner located within the Alameda Enterprise space station. Foxhound. (Episode 3)

NAOMI ZIMMERMAN - Computer technician turned stellar mechanic. Frequently does both for A&K Geddes Freight. All-round computer nerd. Raccoon. (Episode 4)

EVERETT STRICKLAND - Freighter pilot. Probably the oldest and wisest out of anyone working for the company, and frequently a voice of reason whenever Alasdair and Kyoko aren't around. Alsatian. (Episode 4)

MARCIA CARLIN - Head of catering at the company's Armadhu premises. Rules the canteen with an iron fist, and tends to have a good ear for gossip. Beagle. (Episode 4)

STEFFAN POWELL - Former customs officer. Now a cargo officer, and frequently called to provide security for more valuable or dangerous consignments. Beige Fox. (Episode 4)

PATRICIA RODRIGUEZ - Freighter pilot. Valuable and dangerous consignments are her specialty, and thus she frequently travels alongside Steffan Powell (see above). Sand Fox. (Episode 4)

EARL HAWKINS - Stellar mechanic. Prefers to keep mostly to himself, and tends not to get actively involved in the antics of his peers. Scotch Collie. (Episode 4)

DAMARIS MOSS - Freighter pilot. A lady of no fixed abode. Very sweet, bubbly and kindhearted, but a bit dense when it comes to anything outside of her work. Red Vixen. (Episode 4)

MAZEL EL-SHAKIR (alias MONIQUE MATHIS) - Cargo officer, and Damaris Moss' constant travelling companion. A lot more sensible and mature than her vixen friend, and always on hand to fill the gaps in her knowledge - of which there are quite a few. Bombay Cat. (Episode 4)

HILARY BYRD - Personal secretary for both Alasdair and Kyoko. Can best be described as dubious, but honest. He claims that his father was the infamous gangster Dickie Byrd - who's so infamous that nobody's actually heard of him. Weasel (despite his name). (Episode 4)

EMILY BALDWIN, 23RD DUCHESS OF ABBOT BALDWIN - Exactly what her name and title say: she's the wife of Simon Baldwin (18th Duke of Abbot Baldwin), and now the mother of Arthur (19th Duke of Abbot Baldwin). A good friend of Alasdair and Kyoko. Red Vixen. (Episode 5)

JAKOBVO - A large, black, dog-like thing, who's one of the natives of Santa Granada. An aide to Lord Diablo, he initially comes across as mere dumb muscle, but he's actually more sensible and intelligent than he looks. Dog, allegedly... (Episode 7)

RORY BAXTER - Former general manager of Scorpion Products Ltd, a pharmaceuticals manufacturer operating out of the Shaula System. He was the very first client of the newly-formed A&K Geddes Freight, when he called on their services to shift all the bankrupt stock on his premises. Golden Retriever. (Episode 8)

NORMAN GUTHRIE (alias LITTLE NORM) - Childhood friend of Joanna Mandarin, hotelier, gangster, and failed revolutionary. All in fairly rapid succession. Cat. (Episode 9 - previously mentioned in SPCM)

JEAN ELLERTON - Known as Jinty to her friends. Daughter of Gordon Ellerton (stationmaster at Kyle Abbin railway station), and no doubt destined to inherit his position when she grows up. Cat. (Episode 10 - previously mentioned in SPCM)

INNIS FASTNET - Known as Revvy to her friends, for reasons unknown. The eldest daughter of one of the local fishermen in Kyle Abbin. Has gained a lot of technical expertise as a result. Alsatian. (Episode 10 - previously mentioned in SPCM)

FLISK - A local gypsy boy who hangs around Kyle Abbin a lot of the time. Is from the same band of travellers as Moonzie - in fact, he's her boyfriend. Cat. (Episode 10)

MOONZIE GROSVENOR - . Black Vixen. A close friend and neighbour of Alasdair and Kyoko Geddes in Kyle Abbin. The semi-legitimate product of a doomed romance between the space pirate Grosvenor and the gypsy trader Kizzy. (First seen as a child in Episode 44 of SPCM - hits puberty over the course of GL)

ESTELLE BIRKENSTOCK - Nomadic trader turned space trucker, via some rather more shady and unsavoury business. Has grabbed the short end of enough sticks throughout her life to build an entire short end of a house. Red Vixen. (Episode 11)

JUSTIN PENWITH - One of the security officers working in Docking Bay 78, Unit 4, at the Salem Transport Nexus. Slightly too feeble-minded to be working in such a risky profession, but he rarely has to deal with anyone particular dangerous. Old English Sheepdog. (Episode 11 - not named)

GRANVILLE SUTHERLAND - Pilots a garbage freighter around the sectors surrounding the Salem Transport Nexus, and is extremely touchy about people commenting on his job, his ship or himself. A huge black slab of meat disguised as a Doberman. (Episode 11 - not named)

Eu cheguei naquele bar no Green Village, eu sabia que vocês iam tocar lá, mas eu tinha um plano, chegaria com a Meg, beberiamos umas cervejas, e íamos embora, ela não perguntou o porquê de eu ter ido embora com você aquele dia, acho que ela temia a resposta, tanto quanto eu temia a pergunta, simplesmente fingimos que nunca aconteceu, e na quinta ela me avisou que todos iam ver sua banda tocar no sábado, eu tentei não ir, tentei arrumar desculpas, mas secretamente já estava pensando em que roupa iria usar.

Não vi você pelo bar, você e seus amigos deviam estar bebendo, vocês sempre bebiam antes de se apresentar, quase como um ritual, e eu estava bebendo também, por que esse era o meu ritual quando eu sabia que iria ficar frente a frente com você, bom eu tinha acabado de decidir que esse seria meu ritual.

- Não, eu estava lá na quarta, com o Pedro, e ouvi quando o Kyle gritou pra todos ouvirem que vocês não estavam mais juntos.

- Todo mundo sabe que eu e Kyle sempre terminamos e voltamos, depois fizemos um sexo maravilhoso, e tudo ficou bem.

Meg estava com raiva, podia vê lá corando, a Lydia namora o Pedro a anos, o Pedro toca guitarra e canta na banda do Kyle, eles também moram juntos, na casa onde passei a noite depois da festa da república, apesar de eu ter conhecido ela através da Meg, ela e a Meg nunca se gostaram muito, a Lydia faz questão de não deixar a Meg inventar as mentiras dela pra se aparecer, principalmente quando se tratam do Kyle, eles são muito amigos, é até estranho, as vezes a gente vê o Pedro alfinetando o Kyle por conta disso, mas eles resolvem entre eles.

- Além de tudo Meg, eu acho que ele conheceu alguém, escreveu uma música nova e quando perguntei pra quem era, ele disse que era pra vagalume.

Eu gelei, o mundo parou, eu virei líquido, eu era líquido.

A semanas atrás estávamos conversando na biblioteca, e você fez uma pergunta.

Chapter Reviews: March 12-16, 2019 + ATV's Comeback

High School Story: Class Act Chapter 5:

Did I just support Rory's campaign after supporting the twin's? That I did. I laughed at the options to hold the dance off at the parking lot and pick a heartbreaking ballad. That would be an interesting choice.

I'm starting to dislike the twin for disrupting Rory's campaign. Not once did Rory disrupt the twin's bake sale, and the fact that the twin had the gall to not wait shows their foul play. I debated a bit to supoort the twin or Rory, and ended up going with the latter. Not to mention that the twin's support for more sports falls flat because there's more emphasis on it than cheer and band. Back in the first trilogy, Book 1 focuses on getting a new quarterback after Brian transfered to Heart, and Book 2 has Ashley Faris diverting funding from cheer and band to the basketball team as part of her embezzlement scheme with her brother.

Skye's birthday party is sweet, though I don't want mine held at a graveyard. The irony is that there's a cemetery in the same street I live in. Anyway, what's more important is that Skye's happy. She deserves true happiness, away from her horrible family.

Right now, I'm just curious to see how the trip with friends turns out. I wonder whether there will be more election-related drama, even though I dread it.

The Heist: Monaco Chapter 15:

Yes! I succeeded in getting Sonia to my side. For a moment, I thought she'll stay loyal to Ansel. And that premium scene with her is hot. It's like I finally stole her heart after she stole mine. So glad I picked her as my main love interest because she's the one I find most compelling. Even better was when she distracted Ansel and helped me escape.

Glad to see my training with Jones and Ulrich's gloves paid off. They were worth the diamonds because I got to see my MC being badass and making good use of important tools for the heist. I even stole a necklace that looks like Zenobia's along with the diamond. And the scene where I called Carlisle out for his exploitation of customers was much needed to blow off steam towards him.

The premium escape scene was really badass as well. Seeing Rye and Eris escape in style was cool, and having Fabien drive the main trio to safety was a relaxing calm before the storm. Now all I gotta do was punch Ansel in the face. It's now or never.

Desire & Decorum Chapter 12:

The corgi's back! I missed him! Just kidding. That's just another corgi with the same model as the one in TRR. Nevertheless, I miss the TRR corgi, and it's nice to see some Welsh because it's not a widely spoken language. Too bad I didn't watch the street performers, but after seeing how many of them have recycled models from TC&TF, I cry a little bit inside.

Anyway, it was fun being deceptively polite to Duke Richards and snarky at the same time. Makes me feel good about playing this series. Oh, and Felicity's back even though she's meh.

If there's one thing this book should do regarding the conspirators led by Duke Richards, it's to do justice to the showdown against them. It better not be like The Junior, where Nathan monologues and gets easily exposed, and the clues don't give any special advantages besides putting Beau and/or Kassidy in jail. Seeing that it closely involves the MC being married to Duke Richards, I say have that duke killed in the end.

America's Most Eligible Chapter 9:

Honestly, Piper's still the same smug snake like before. Even when her new show is doing well, I still don't trust her.

After seeing Eden wanting to confess her feelings to Kiana, I say why not? At that time, I thought she could get eliminated, so last chance, perhaps? Even after I've been proven wrong, I still don't regret my decision. It was sweet to see Eden mustering her courage.

Man, Bianca gets done dirty in All Stars, brought back only to have just one premium scene and she gets eliminated this chapter or earlier. I seriously wonder whether or not Pixelberry disregards the potential she brings just because she's female, and PB just wants to cater to its "target audience" despite their illogical demands. Anyway, she deserves better than this.

I really should be careful of Ivy not honoring our deal, especially since I have a negative relationship with her. Nevertheless, Slater gets eliminated, leaving me with one less tough competitor to deal with. The funny thing is that he's still friends with me. Let's see if he and Ivy wind up being interchangeable because of their pragmatism.

The Elementalists Chapter 1:

The opening scene with the girl Goeffe tried to protect and Discount Dorian Pavus got me thinking that the new book's plot will focus on the nine masters of each attunement. From the fight between them and his assumption that the other masters are weak for not realizing their potential, it seems that the nine elements rests on some sort of delicate balance, and the villain wants to use his powers to the hightst potential possible.

Anyway, back to Penderghast. I'm so glad Atlas and Aster have enrolled. I can't wait to see more of them, especially since Aster was severely sidelined in Book 1. I was shocked and amused to see that Greygarden Waithe looks like Yusuf Konevi with blue hair, blue skin, and yellow eyes. Boy, Pixelberry sure loves recycling character models. On another note, I hope I get to see more of the dynamics between the different races of the setting, especially since Aster mentioned the Wand Wars being a sour point in relations between humans and wood nymphs. It's too good of an opportunity for Pixelberry to pass.

I'm thinking of renaming the friend group from Five Stars to something else, probably The Week, with each member for each day of the week. As for the tour around Penderghast, I encouraged Atlas and Aster to focus on their studies. They're in a place of learning, so they should make the most of their enthusiasm for learning. I know Aster's the kind of person who wants to learn more, so that's a plus.

I like the element symbols on the choices. It makes me easier to choose which kind of spell depending on the situation at hand. Especially when it comes to the environment. It's helpful.

So we can get impression points with Discount Dorian Pavus, eh? Well, He's probably lying when he said that he knew MC and Atlas's parents, but I also think it means impression points will have more impact than before. I hope this new villain has a complex characterization and is very effective at his actions. So far, he has a colorful personality, which is better than Raife Highmore, who is bland and forgettable.

Ride or Die Chapter 9:

Why does it sound like Mona traded one undesireable situation (jail time, which shouldn't be bad for her) for another (ending up with the Mercy Park Crew)? It doesn't help that she has no problems continuing her life of crime. And why destroy a functioning car even if it's old? I swear, she doesn't have much of a personality besides being a criminal who doesn't regret her actions, but then again, I pick her out of "pity" and not because of her personality.

Because I sided with Darius, he visited my MC as well as calling her in the previous chapter. As part of me roleplaying (or trying to) her as an informant dedicated to justice, I told him to just trust me, since the Brotherhood is implied to be the antagonists, and he better stay away from being collateral damage.

Colt and Kaneko, you idiots! I get that the Brotherhood is E.V.I.L., but recruiting Salazar despite how much of a snake he is? Hooray for MPC logic! Another reason to throw them under the bus, though it's part of my plan all along anyway.

Open Heart Chapter 5:

I enjoy the friend group of this series, but I also worry that this competition for the diagnostics team position will jeopardize their friendship. As for Aurora, I told the group that she's not as bad as people say. Despite her aloof personality, disregard of small talk, and an unacceptable remark, there's more to her than meets the eye. She resents being associated with her aunt, is actually good with patients like Annie, and makes no attempt to ruin oter people's performances. It's extremely naïve to assume she shouldn't be a complex character, given her understandable annoyance of being seen as Harper's niece and hidden depths with Annie.

Hello, familiar faces. I kinda laughed at Senator Lucius, Kyle Garza, and Percy Mendoza's faces at the baseball match. Pity I didn't buy the premium outfit, but thr baseball manager's so darn relatable on his lack of familiarity with medical terms.

So, Rafael is a love interest? Not surprised because of his popularity among the fanbase. Didn't pick the premium option to fly with him, so I watched on YouTube, and it was okay. I get to know a bit about him and that he looks up to his uncle, which is nice. Not to mention that the sunset view is beautiful.

More thoughts on Across the Void's return:

As I've said earlier, I'm not excited for it to return. I'm wary of Pax and Eos for being nuisances, the love interests lacking sufficient development for me to care for them, and the Vanguard vs Jura conflict lacking enough focus to the point that I don't know enough of them to care. Maybe Pixelberry will fix this issue by focusing more on the gray vs gray conflict they've set up. After all, this story is supposed to be an adventure that allows us to experience various areas of the conflict.

Biografia: 

Grandes poderes acompanham grandes responsabilidades, e esse sempre foi o maior dilema do inglês. Concebido por uma das famílias mais ricas de Londres, teve sua vida repleta de regalias, Kyle Woodbane sempre carregou a linhagem de sua família com orgulho, e um pouco de desleixo. No outono de outubro, em um bairro nobre de Londres, nasceu banhado nos holofotes, filho de um estilista renomado casado com sua madrasta que era uma atriz que não chegou a ter muito contato, mas a sua reputação sempre perseguiu o rapaz. Durante o colegial, era impossível você não gostar de Kyle Woodbane, desde notas altas, favoritismo dos professores e dos alunos até a perseguição domiciliar de um de seus inúmeros colegas de classe que tinha uma obsessão compulsiva por ele. O rapaz sempre se perguntou o porquê desse imã com as pessoas, mas sempre preferiu acreditar que era por causa dos progenitores, o que dificultou em níveis extremos todo seu período escolar.

Em sua adolescência, o garoto começou a questionar que a proximidade alheia sempre estava relacionada ao seus bens materiais e ao seu exterior, mesmo sendo uma pessoa sociável, Kyle nunca foi a fundo em assuntos que rondava em sua casa, como os problemas de ausência de seu pai, a falta de uma figura materna. Isso trouxe uma necessidade autoafirmação incessantemente onde o rapaz vestiu a sua superficialidade e começou a viver em função dos outros, até porque nem ele sabia o que sentia no interior.

O seu pai estava ciente o tempo todo das confusões que o garoto se metia, por isso preferia manter sua mente ocupada e de preferência, longe dele. Em um contratempo, uma nova madrasta surgiu e pra Kyle, as coisas estavam finalmente se encaixando até o momento em que ele começou a questionar se a relação de ambos estava tornando algo familiar ou incestuoso de uma forma em que o rapaz não conseguia evitar, trazendo desconforto não só para ele, mas seu pai também começou a notar o comportamento que a madrasta tinha com o mais novo e foi aí que as cartas foram colocadas na mesa. Atingindo a maioridade, Kaleb Woodbane abriu o jogo em que o filho era algo além do normal. Com uma reação totalmente contrária do esperado, o rapaz entendeu perfeitamente que sua mãe é Afrodite, mas despertou o desejo de conhecê-la.

Nesse meio tempo, Kyle finalmente entrou ao instituto que trouxe uma aproximação maior com sua progenitora, descobrindo a fundo inúmeros problemas que estavam e ainda estão presos no seu corpo. A sensação de ter clareza de seus atos traziam uma calmaria para o rapaz, mas sabia que algo não era normal nele, Kyle sempre foi um garoto problemático e desesperado por aprovação alheia e por mais que tentasse mudar isso, não conseguia de jeito nenhum, era gratificante os aplausos e sorrisos que ele recebia ao cumprir com seu dever. Todos esses problemas enquanto estava no instituto afloraram de uma forma anormal, de um jeito que o garoto precisou largar tudo e seguir em frente com a sua vida normal. Kyle optou por ponderar suas ações no mundo humano antes de voltar para o instituto e tentar resolver grande parte dos seus conflitos pessoais que em grande parte funcionou, o garoto não era mais tão ingênuo quanto parecia.

Com o desejo de emancipação dos bens de seu pai, o garoto começou a trabalhar como planejador de casamentos por indicação de Afrodite que sempre disse ao rapaz que era um talento inato, o que tornava duvidoso vindo de sua prole, mas não negou a sugestão, afinal precisava fazer algo de sua vida e que conseguisse manter seus gastos e padrão moral de vida.

Habilidades: 1. Beijo Dramático I – através do conceito melodramático de manifestar suas emoções, o filho de Afrodite consegue, de forma passiva, transferir emoções exageradas ou até mesmo patéticas através do beijo.

2. Encantamento – O filho de Afrodite ganha a capacidade de encantar os demais armamentos com um fulgor rosa deixando os inimigos confusos, em contato com a pele tem a capacidade de queimar o oponente trazendo as piores memórias de relacionamentos passados.

3. Resistência Mental– O filho de Afrodite possui resistência mental aflorada, sendo capaz de distinguir a realidade e a fantasia, tornando efeitos de hipnose, encanto, ilusões escassas.

4. Controle Sobre Moda – Com o controle sobre moda, dependendo da situação o semideus tem a capacidade de modificar a atual vestimenta para uma armadura, ou até mesmo vestimentas normais. Esse efeito pode ser usado em você e em um aliado.

5. Refletor - Carrega consigo um espelho capaz de cegar o oponente por poucos segundos, além de refletir habilidades ofensivas que não seja relacionada as emoções e fazer teletransportes de curta distância.

6. Enxame Furioso - O semideus chama um enxame de belas pombas que voam na área à sua frente. As pombas circulam ao redor de todos os inimigos no caminho, se a habilidade for usada no mar, cisnes irão atacar o oponente.

7.Beijo Dramático II – Com seu conhecimento rebuscado e aprimorado, o semideus consegue escolher as emoções que serão transferidas através do beijo, o filho de Afrodite também consegue transferir um escudo luminescente para o aliado aumentando as suas capacidades. .

8.  Inveja de Berço I - Com a inveja nascendo ao seu lado, assim como sua mãe, semideus consegue copiar apenas uma habilidade do adversário para uso singular.

9. Controle de Pétalas I – Agora consegue imbuir suas armas com encantamentos nas pétalas, sendo eles: calmante, doloroso e alucinógeno. A habilidade de cura também é aprimorada, podendo curar queimaduras e cortes.

10. Desidratação - Através do beijo ou contato direto, caso tenha intimidade com a pessoa o filho de Afrodite consegue sugar o líquido corporal do oponente levando a desidratação.

11. Romance Eterno – O filho de Afrodite jura amor eterno ao oponente fazendo com que ele lute ao seu lado de forma apaixonado por um dia e também consegue encantar demais criaturas.  

12. Controle sobre Bolhas – Neste nível, o filho de Afrodite ganha a capacidade de criar bolhas para aprisionar os inimigos e conjurar para explodir com o intuito de cegar os adversários.

13. Inveja de Berço II - O semideus agora possui total controle da habilidade alheia, podendo se apropriar de dois poderes para uso contínuo.

15. Controle de Moda II – Com total controle sobre moda, você agora consegue alterar a vestimenta do seu oponente em campo de batalha e permite ser usada em até 5 aliados.

16. Controle de Areia – Com suas habilidades avançadas, o filho de Afrodite consegue manipular a Areia para o uso próprio, desde a areia movediça até fortes feitos do material.

18. Controle de Pétalas II - O filho de Afrodite ganha domínio total com rosas, podendo ser usada para voar em pequenas alturas, transformar seu corpo em inúmeras pétalas de rosas para anular dano.
