#I love that you can see me back off to dodge his grab before I’m like oh wait I can just bonk him lol#thank you radagon for being the only boss I could see myself doing hitless#except my dodge rate for his stomp/poke combo is like 5%#so it’s only feasible if he doesn’t do that move…#oh and the “nothing personnel kid” teleport and fast smash can also suck it#him the crucible knights and the bell bearing hunter are the only enemies I’ve learned to consistently parry in ER 😮💨#I tried learning malenia’s parries but her damage is so overtuned it str8 up was not worth the risk and effort 🥴#radagon definitely isn’t the most fun boss in Elden ring but I think he’s like the most fair out of every single one#which is why it’s gr8 that all my goodwill gets toss out the window with Elden beast 🥴#I had one moment where he did Elden stars chase attack the triple closing rings and then sword swipes#and got absolutely annihilated bc I could not dodge all 3 attacks at once#like attack RNG has always been part of the difficulty in these games but with my limited knowledge this is the first one where#(( outside of gank fights ))#the RNG difficulty slider goes from manageable all the way to full health to death#had one round with malenia where she used waterfowl blade SIX TIMES and I only managed to survive bc I was playing around with a mage build#and was letting bby tiche do most of the damage while I pulled aggro from far away enough that I could dodge WFB comfortably#can you tell I’ve only ever done double godskins with both NPC summons and tears#I’ve heard enough about that fights bullshit that I straight up trivialize it every time I get it to it#Elden ring truly is the most difficult and easiest fromsoft game to date… dialectic 🥳#excited to see how they balance things in the DLC bc honestly outside of WFB malenia really is a fun boss#I don’t mind that her normal attacks are so punishing bc dodging around them or knocking her out of certain attacks feels gr8#so if bosses are malenia level TUNED without WFB level BULLSHIT I can see myself getting really into it 🥳#tsuchi plays games

#I feel like I really got not much to say about this one.#The whole Kunikida deal with witnessing the child die has always left me ://#It's just always felt... Unnecessarily cruel to me. Wow the world is unforgiving and life is nothing but suffering. Okay#You know it does have to do with everything else I don't agree with about bsd's core morals. The nihilism and everything.#But like it is what it is I'm not dwelling much on it for the most part.#It's chapter 76 Teruko saying “In this world‚ being ‘desperate’ means relatively little. /So welcome to our world./”#I'm just not used to believe there's such a thing as no-win scenarios. But I suppose that's naivety on my end#Btw‚ up to this moment‚ I've ALWAYS thought all the kids died in the explosion.#And I'm only now realizing it was only the little one with the granades on their neck? That doesn't make it any less horrible‚ but at least#to know the others survived is a relief.#(Btw how the hell did Kunikda survive?? He was literally running towards three granades. Or maybe I'm not familiar with weapons power idk?)#In a way this arc reminds me a lot of t/pn. The little kids with guns. The break out and break in. Idk.#What else. I like Tanizaki he's a funny character.#I wish we'd see more of Atsushi actually... Do things#I love. Love Kouyou's character and I think her relationship with Kyouka is so compelling.#In this episode I really like how Kyouka seemingly took advantage of Kouoyou's unwillingness to harm her and by extension Tanizaki.#It's very smart.#I like how much emphasis is put on Demon Snow and Golden Demons being... Really powerful abilities. It made me feel like another reason–#why Kouyou hasn't shown up for half manga now is a Chuuya-esque kind of being too powerful–#their existence would defeat any plot obstacle lol#Next episode! There's gonna be my favourite scene in the whole manga :)#random rambles#Almost forgot. When I say b/sd is racist...#It's not only that every single foreigner is by definition a villain.#It's Kunikida saying “He was born abroad‚ but he grew up here. It's not unusual here‚ in this crucible of ability user criminals.”#Which sounds pretty much like saying that everyone coming from abroad must automatically be a criminal. Which.#Yikes

#everybody's always on about miyazaki and poison swamps what about miyazaki and him making us platform off the narrowest of ledges#anyways this is where that levitating coffin from yesterday brought me#other things that happened today:#tracked down all the night cavalry and death bird fights i'd missed for some easy runes#and then lost most of them right here because there's a glitch that sometimes happens when you drop onto a branch slightly off center#that makes the game act like you just jumped off a ten story building and kills you instantly#fought the big boss crucible knight with the name i can't remember (-fuck- that gold dagger) and got the crucible armour set#fought preceptor miriam again and mr. boing boing beach ball after her and then went up the thing and found [redacted]#i finally got my somber smithing stone 7#already had an eight and a nine so now all i need is an ancient dragon one to peak off my dear bloodhound's fang#fought the “baleful shadow” which looked ominously like [redacted] which is probably foreshadowing#:(#and I finally got some manageable champions in the big jar challenge so now i can wear (most of) radahn's armor#now i'm just gonna finish off this place#tomorrow i think i'll try to round out ranni's quests#i.e. continue into the lake of rot#somehow#yay#ølden ring

#song of the day#I lost track of time even more than I already had and forgot to call an end to Friday#Friday was essentially the same day as Thursday is the thing. song would've been 'Crucible' by Sleigh Bells#same album and all#today-yesterday (Saturday) I slept a lot but in the weirdest chunks and when I was awake mostly I was still pretty out of it#I got to see more FFXIV stuff and hear a little from some friends I've really missed#it was lovely#uh I'm trying to think what else was yesterday-today#the garden work which is why George Strait is today's song#too fuzz-brained to remember anything fancy but there's a handful of songs I could sing drunk & upside-down at the end of the world#'Easy Come Easy Go' and 'Go On' and 'I'd Just As Soon Go' and 'If It's Gonna Rain' and 'If You Can Do Anything Else'#'I Can Still Make Cheyenne' and 'Amarillo By Morning' and 'Ocean Front Property in Arizona'#always love George Strait#I made more cheddar-dill bread! it just finished cooling so that was definitely today#it's a little over-sugared because I wasn't paying attention but still pretty good#I'll be out of dill after the next loaf (until my plants grow a bit more for me. lovely things) so I'm thinking onion & mushroom soup mixes#maybe without cheese? or just with parmesan maybe. I'll have to see#more than anything what I need to do tomorrow is answer all my messages#I haven't been all of me together with free time and internet much and all these notifications are going unread#I am eternally grateful for what patient friends I have <3#I'm going to sleep now and when I wake up maybe I'll have an entire brain again

I don't want it!!!#I don't want to put in the effort it would require to ready ME for such a blessing#I would rather sit as a squalid little pot in my squalid little corner than undergo the necessary cleansing and crucibling...#(I don't care if I just made that word up) (It's accurate)#I'm TIRED#And I already know what cleansing and crucibling will take#And I dread it#I'd much rather sulk and whine than accept the Good Thing#Sulking and whining is easy and Character Development is not#I am lazy. And tired.#Some years ago I read a book called Hinds Feet On High Places and it was an excellent sequel to Pilgrim's Progress#Just wonderful and I loved reading it#But I find I don't like living it#*Whinge* *whine* Waah waah waah etc...#...anyway He's basically dropping a brick a day on my head now so I think He's maybe about done indulging me and my tantrums so#my options are get my hiney in gear and get ready to accept cleansing and crucibling or I'm just gonna get unceremoniously precipitated#into it (As has been His method throughout my life until recently)

i enjoy elden ring so differently than other games and its great. i usually have some kind of goal in mind and who cares if i dont reach it. if i get a handful more souls then we’re making progress. just throwing yourself at something over and over again is a viable strategy half of the time. today i put 1 level into vigor and finally defeated the stormhill evergaol crucible knight.
#salty talks#its kinda nice lol. cant pause and everything will body you but you can kinda just take it at your own pace#kinda. but its also nice bc i dont have a ton of games that rely on your own skill as the player#ive been trying to beat the stormhill crucible knight for ages and every fight is a little more progress#like today i had three gos at it and beat em on the third one and each time id have more info on his attacks and what works for me to do#FUCK the stormhill evergaol crucible knight tho#anyways elden ring is neat i like having a game like that where it really relies on you to learn how things work and improve along the way#i usually play rpgs n wtvr where its like. level up improve stats turn based battle stuff#not a whole lot of stuff where the most improvement you can see is the improvement of your own knowledge and skill#the stormhill evergaol is probably the boss thats taken me the longest to beat. fucking. godrick took me one try. idk how
