My Wenren E and Yin Hanjiang designs (from Devil Venerable Also Wants To Know)

Wenren E: His design came to me pretty easily, while reading i basically imagined him with long loose christmas tree (lol) hair, and the basic xianxia yichang + dachang. Black and gold of course. I wish I understood Chinese astrology because I don't quite know what they mean about the patterns of the stars on his robe + ji, but I just kind of winged it. Arm braces because even though he should have a big wide triangle silhouette, I also think he should be somewhat practical and they give a nice martial look. And the double crescent ji of course.

Yin Hanjiang: I know the accepted design for him has bangs and a cross collar robe, and I did envision him with a cross collar robe at first, but for some reason it just didn't look right to me when I was drawing it. I ended up giving him a yuanlingpao, because they have a nice smooth practical look (yes I know they were also court garments) which in my opinion is suitable for someone like him who starts the story trying to be someone with no personal desires. Again, it gives a martial look which is fitting for someone who is trying to be a "sword." Also, while looking at pictures of yuanlingpao I noticed how with modern hanfu, they often have colorful/patterned linings, so if you wear them with an open collar, you can see a nice pattern. It gave me the idea of a double sided yuanlingpao, like those reversable jackets if you've ever seen them. Imagine his black yuanlingpao is red on the inside, so when he goes Azula mode it's really the same garment, but now what was hidden is shown. And his collar is open so it's like his heart is open.

I forgot to stick my thoughts about bangs in there. I know they're cute and not giving him them was kind of an act of self control for me but when Wenren E makes note of the fact that he has loose hair when he comes back, it makes me feel like he wouldn't normally have it. I know that could mean his hair is just down but also think about it, doesn't a tight, pulled back ponytail fit a character like Yin Hanjiang? And then it all comes apart....right......

idea for after a:twow. Imagine if both quaritch and spider made their way to the ash people clan. (Quaritch after the ship battle and spider shunned after the Sully’s find out he saved quaritch)

the twist is: the ash clan is BIG, and neither spider nor quaritch know the other is there 💀

Omg, you seem to have practically predicted Avatar 3! Idk if you've seen the leaked stills from the movie, but it certainly does seem that both Spider and Quaritch find themselves in the Ash people clan. My personal thoughts are as follows:

Spider, Lo'ak (and potentially Kiri) are captured by the Ash people (who are fierce and absolutely wish harm on them, especially Spider for being human). I can see the Ash clan holding them to lure Jake and Neytiri out somehow.

Quaritch (along with maybe Wainfleet and Mansk) find their way into the clan somehow and discover that they have the kids captured. Immediately of course, Quaritch starts strategising how he can get Spider out of this. I can see him making a deal with Verang, perhaps they team up somehow (as Verang has bad intentions - I think she's a bad guy) and then at the end of the movie or in movie 4, Quaritch betrays her and backstabs her to get his son back - adding to his (questionable) redemption arc. I think James Cameron is going to go for a redeeming storyline for Quaritch because he knows it will be controversial, and therefore makes a great story.

Possible romantic subplot between Quaritch and Verang? I wish they wouldn't, but this is hollywood and everyone has to be paired off with someone, so I wouldn't be surprised. It would certainly make Quaritch's betrayal of the ash clan more meaningful if he had developed 'feelings' for their leader. I don't think it would actually go anywhere because Quaritch would choose Spider over any romantic aspirations in a heartbeat. But I can see people shipping it.

Spider will definitely not become a 'villain', I mean, come on. That take is colder than the ice cream I'm having for desert tonight. Moreover, I think he's going to be used as the main plot device that brings Quaritch and Jake together somehow.

I really hope that a couple of issues do get raised in A3 or A4, such as clones and their identities, the neglect Spider went through, and the grief Neytiri has to deal with.

I keep trying to drop DFF because 60% of the cast can’t act, the writing is terrible, and I get infuriated by the characters, but then I saw the clips for the next episode and I have to watch Ta/Barcode.

I have always said that Barcode wasn’t very good in KinnPorsche, but I do realise now that was down to poor writing and the fact that Jeff/Barcode gives me the ick (sorry, but pairing an underage kid with someone in their late 20s made me feel weird, and even if he’s of age now, the whole Kim/Chay relationship was terrible imo).

HOWEVER, Ta/Barcode actually looks good? Like they could totally work? I really would love them to be coupled up again after this show.

ive thought about this a lot!!! so i think, pre trucy? phoenix eats like a fucking college student. just basically knows how to make ramen and eggs and just like, simple foods. doesnt feed himself that well, and i think mia sees that very clearly at first and tries to help him when she can, but obvi when shes gone...he goes back to these poor eating habits

now, when trucy is in the picture, phoenix knowsssss he needs to step his game up. cannot give those same eating habits to trucy, needs to keep his shining light well fed!! so he starts to learn how to actually cook, and gets pretty good at it! edgeworth on the other hand. i think he can cook ??? but he needs to follow the recipe EXACTLY or else he freaks out and gets overwhelmed. phoenix is more of a "trust your gut" kinda person with cooking, and miles needs to follow the recipe to a T. baking tho!!!!! miles loves to bake and is actually good at it. i read a headcanon once that gregory used to bake with miles when he was a kid and miles loved it, but when gregory passed he didnt bake anymore because 1) reminds him too much of his father and it hurts and 2) von karma wouldnt let him anyways i think as miles heals he starts to venture his way back into baking, because he starts to learn that yes, it reminds him of his father, but thats not a bad thing and he uses it to feel closer to him

In the Vampire AU, there’s two ‘love you in every route’ type guys.

First is Malleus. With how lonely he is, he’d become attached to you very easily, even if you aren’t super close. Will love you from afar if you decide you’re interested in someone else, happy that you’re still his friend at least.

Second is Epel. He’s your best friend and the one you spend the most time with, until Ace and Deuce start hanging out with you more. Epel doesn’t feel like he belongs with the other residents, but you? You understand him, how could he not fall for you? He misses the times before you got close with the others, before you had more than him, as selfish as he knows that is. He wants you to be happy, but he’s can’t pretend as well as Malleus that he’s happy for you when you become interested in someone else. He’d still be there for you though, through your excited ramblings about your crushes or your tearful break ups. He tells you he loves you regularly, but when you say it back he knows you don’t mean it in the same way he does.

I know some don’t think the jiara scenes were natural and I thought I’d just say a few things on that.

Out of the relationships in the show I believe jiara makes the most sense to be where they are. They’ve known each other all their lives and the near death experience at the end of s2 really showed Kiara seeing JJ in that light. They’re also not the main romance (jarah b technically is) so not having so much build up was kind of a given. But they also stayed exactly who they are, best friends who realized they just make sense together. Ride or die. And this is just the beginning since season 4 was confirmed and I’m sure there’s going to be angst coming for them. I love cleope they are so cute but they also met rather fast and are confirmed. Why is it weird that two best friends (for years) realized they were in love with one another?

Why is everyone overreacting over one week of football 😭

Is cj stroud actually bad? He was missing some weapons and the jets defense is good (i think). Obviously didn't have a good game but he's not a god. We will see how he looks next week if he plays.

Are the eagles actually frauds? They haven't looked good in like a month but they are still in good position and the pieces are still there. This adversity is actually good for them to know where they need to improve plus they have an easy schedule coming up.

Is Zach Wilson actually good? He played great yesterday but remains to be seen. He and other people seem to be implying that this is what happens when the jets stop babying him and let him cook and i agree that's what they should do for the rest of the season, but some people are not prepared to see his growing pains while he figures it out lol. Plus they're playing miami next. I don't want to see people turn on him again.

Flaws in Fiction: ⚡️Relationship Edition⚡️

People all on their own are complicated. What happens when you throw two complicated beings together??? COMPLICATIONS.

A lot of this can relate back to the Character Edition, but it's important to also note that human interactions can be just as flawed as the individuals involved.

Let's get this out of the way early: my acceptance that real people mess up sometimes does not mean being in support of abusive or manipulative behavior. Reading and writing it in fiction? Sure! Excusing it IRL? Absolutely not.

Now, onto the nonsense amazingness.

It is important to remember that: not every situation has a villain and a victim. People who screw up are not bad people. People who occasionally clash, or bicker, do not necessarily have "toxic" relationship. We all get annoyed with the people we love. We all annoy the people we love. That's okay!

Listen: I love a toxic relationship. In fiction, that is. But I don't want my options limited to the "right" way or the "wrong" way.

There are many stories out there where Ron and Hermione are Ultra Supportive of everything Harry does. And if they don't, they're terrible friends. I don't see near enough of them squabbling! (Not that it doesn't exist; more I've seen an excess of "perfect friends" or "character bashing.")

The people we love are going to screw up. They're going to hurt our feelings. They're not going to agree with everything we say and do. That is the consequence of being different people!

Let's say Gabrielle borrows/steals Fleur's favorite dress. Not good. Should definitely ask before using people's belongings. But do we write Gabrielle off? Is she a bad person and bad sister for one infraction? No! Family relationships are rough and weird.

Molly nags and pries. She does it with love, but she should probably lay off. Molly is not a saint, but "not a saint" doesn't equate to "demon woman."

Ron and Hermione breakup. It doesn't have to be because of cheating or abuse. Maybe they love each other, but their goals don't align. Ron is family-oriented and Hermione is career-focused. Maybe it just doesn't work. Neither of them needs to be at fault for it. Or maybe they stay together when they shouldn't. Which leads to fights that break them up, or worse...they stay together however sour the relationship turns. Because of love and stubbornness. Or expectation. How does being war heroes and public figures impact their relationship?

Or, perhaps, Harry takes up with an unlikely suitor. (If you know me, you know who I mean!) Those closest to him don't understand, let alone approve. They worry. And they have their own issues with his partner. They aren't bad people or bad friends for not jumping on the "everything Harry does and wants is right and good" bandwagon.

Maybe they disagree. Maybe they argue. Both sides are upset because they don't understand each other. Maybe, in the heat of the moment, someone says something hurtful. It's wrong, of course. But does one bad action make the whole person bad? Make the whole friendship toxic and destined for the dumpster?

Better yet: we can acknowledge the flaws in our loved ones, and still love them. And those flaws can drive us batty without killing our love.

Ron can be careless and tactless. Hermione can be bossy and critical. They know that about each other. They aren't blind to it. Ron might occasionally have hearts in his eyes when Hermione starts fussing. Other times he snaps back. Those little flaws aren't what breaks them. It's the bigger picture.

They try to be friends after, but it's rough going. Even worse when it coincides with Harry's new (scandalous) romance. Ron and Hermione are skeptical of his boyfriend. Harry sets boundaries with them. Everyone gets upset and they take time apart. They go on with life and make new friends. And, eventually, they apologize and move on together. All friends again. The Golden Trio once more.

Tiffs with friends don't signal the end.

People breakup and makeup. They go from friends to lovers to exes to friends. They squabble with their siblings. They gripe about their mothers. They have bad days and are unpleasant to be around.

And much as I love some good angst and drama, as much as I love toxic relationships and all manner of depravity...I want more of that middle ground. More of those everyday issues. Seeing people upset with one another without villainizing each other.

I’ve seen a few things on different sites recently wondering about how someone gets into Joanna Newsom and I personally have two different methods for any JNew Newbies. Obviously these are just my opinions, but I got into her music a little later (2014?) and it’s been literally life changing and I highly encourage anyone thinking about getting into her to go for it! Okay so: 1.) Go in order. Start with Milk Eyed Mender (skip the ep at first) and get to know her first big release. I feel like it’s a good introduction to her as a songwriter because even as she’s grown, the mechanics of how she writes are very much outlined in that first record. Also it’s delightful and devastating. Then move on to Ys, HOOM, etc. 2.) Choose a few songs and get to know them. This is kind of how I personally got into her. I bought Milk Eyed Mender and then downloaded Only Skin, Cosmia, Soft As Chalk, and Baby Birch just on first impression thinking I’d like them, and just got to know those songs well. Her songs are long and dense! They take time to get to know! But once I felt like I’d cracked the code of something like Only Skin I felt like I was ready for more (this was also before Divers had come out).

My reasoning for this- in honey queen, when cineplex teen is being threatened by zoey, pete is at abstinence camp. And in watcher world, cineplex teen is working there, and when bill mentions “teds nerdy little brother” Robert looks up. I could be wrong, but I feel that if the cineplex teen was pete, he would’ve played him in watcher world.

Of course, they were originally the same in the Black Friday script, but with all this (plus pete and cineplex teen holding hands in what if tomorrow comes) I don’t think they’re intended to be the same anymore.

so i’m personally a big believer in the fact that resident evil 4 does not need a remake. 2 and 3 remake made sense- that gameplay is pretty decently outdated, and it made more sense to remake them in a modern style as opposed to like. improving the graphics or something.

BUT 4. i think 4 is 100% good as it is. and it’s modern enough that, in my opinion, a remake isn’t really justified. HOWEVER. i wouldn’t really care abt this IF. they remade code veronica first. CODE VERONICA DESERVES A REMAKE GODDAMNIT

code veronica is a MUCH better candidate for a remake because the gameplay was Not Good. PLUS the plot was wack and a remake would make the transition from 3 to 4 SO much more smooth and bring more people into that part of the series. i have no clue why they WOULDNT remake code veronica (except maybe they don’t want claire as the protagonist /hj). it’s the next major game in the series and would benefit SO MUCH from a remake.

resident evil 4, in my opinion, can’t be improved upon enough to justify a remake. i wouldn’t really mind them remaking 4 IF they did code veronica first. it’s just. unfathomably frustrating. a code veronica remake would be SO COOL!

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

had a fucking hilarious dream that tumblr replaced the "block" function with the far funnier "glock" function, which did the exact same thing except whenever anyone blocked you a random bullet hole, like a png of a bullet hole, would appear on your blog. discourse blogs were unreadable bc you'd go to the page and the sheer amount of bullet hole pngs stacked over the blogs obscured everything. I woke myself up laughing
