Anyways I know I haven't been active here on Tumblr, but I just want to say that the Dire Crowley SSR reveal has changed the trajectory of my life. The amount of spam tagging I did for @prince-kallisto in Twitter because Crowley showed up was a lot. February is TRULY Dire Crowley's month.

and the time passes. and he keeps going back to this shirt.

he grew up in it, he fell in love in it, his heart got broken in it, he met the love of his life at the docks in it. the cycle repeating itself and he still had this shirt. until things quieted down. he got married. they moved out. he settled into his life and his body and his threadbare beige shirt with the little buttons.

and now mickey wears it. he sticks his little hands out. sleeve paws for ian to giggle over. he's endeared by it.

Obviously, I'm joking. So, like, you know how Rayman is mostly Lums and stuff? Y'know how he gets health via Red Lums?

What if he gets spooked enough, his Red Lums turn into Black Lums???

The issue is that you need to scare him BAD. And I mean bad. Like, shit his pants punching hold through monitor scared.

Also, this form is extremely unstable. Rayman is built on light, so when it turns into dark, he becomes extremely fragile and shaky.

Also, Rayman doesn't remember anything while in this form. And he's in it like, 5min max. It's always in short burst, so it's a blink or you'll miss it sorta deal.

When Rayman is in this form, he either fights or flights (he freezes when he's scared normally)

When he flees, you won't see him for like, a day or 2 then Rayman would come back all willy nilly.

If he fights, well some part of you is getting ripped off <33

He's also super fast, so this creature sorta became an urban legend. Something to scare the kiddies from going out into the jungle alone.

Something about Four fics set in his Hyrule!

The Minish Cap world being small and detailed enough to be intimately understood. The characters all having their own figurines with fun descriptions and secrets. Four's comfort and seamless integration and understanding of Hyrule Town and the people. The bakery. A library which he frequents. The school he went to. He and Dot being childhood friends. How close he is to her in both friendship and physical proximity like the castle is Right There it's so easy for them to visit and for Dot to be included in fic. The Picori Festival. The whimsy of the Minish and their presence and magic being something Four often and happily interacts with. The little traditions that make his world his. Having a home to return to that he finds comfort in. His Grandfather being there for him. His job at the forge. All of the people he has in his life who offer him genuine guidance and support. Something about FSA and The Minish Cap drawing so faithfully from the games before that there is an item or person or oddly specific scenario that uniquely ties Four to many of the other heros- the palace of the four sword, the origins of the picori blade, the dark mirror, the dark world, FSA drawing from the style of WW and alttp (and the headcanons that result from this like the shield that's Wind's family heirloom being Four's originally).

Something about stories set in his world are so comforting. I love fics where Four is the last to join the chain, signaling the true start of their adventure together, and fics where Four sets in motion what, or is, the first to bring them together again after the adventure is over. Fics that explore Minish Cap and FSA's worlds and how Four is connected to it, and how it connects him to the others. It's just a Minish Cap appreciation kind of day tbh.

Ghost is such a girl dad

Simon braiding his little girl's hair in the mornings when he's off duty, humming along to her little ramblings about her day and what's happening at school.

Simon, who was afraid to hold her when she was born because she looked so fragile and small, but knew that he'd do anything to keep her safe, kill anybody to make sure his baby got the life he never did

Simon, smiling when his daughter presents him with a crookedly folded father's day card, a rough drawing of three stick figures showing their little family.

Simon, spoiling his daughter rotten when his wife isn't looking, being both overprotective and gentle in the way he treats them both because God knows he's proven to the world how harsh and cruel he can be but he'd never bring that home with him to the two lights of his life.

Simon, teaching his daughter not to take shit from anybody but not telling her that she'd never have to worry about being mistreated by anybody because her dad could send any five year old playground bully crying with just a glare (and he's done it more than once too)

Simon, settling down at night holding his girls and watching them sleep, something so content and warm taking home in the cold space that used to house what he thought might be a heart. They've brought him back to life, separated Simon from Ghost and given the former something that he'd never take for granted.

A reason to keep going.

My initial impression when I watched Eclipse for the first time (and what I still believe) is that Stella knew full well that Ray didn't humilate himself on purpose in the bank when they were kids. I always read it as Stella knowing how embarrased and ashamed Ray would feel for having wet himself, and instead of trying to console him and tell him that it was okay, she let him be the hero instead. Because even though in Ray's memory he thought that he was being 'John Lennon, James Bond, Joe Namath, all rolled into one', I don't think Stella actually fell in love with an illusion at all. Like Fraser said, 'I am willing to gamble that Stella looked beyond that one incident and saw the whole person'. I think she always saw Ray for who he really was, but Ray's own insecurities about himself made him believe that she had to be with him based on a lie. I think the person who doesn't see Ray clearly is Ray himself. He has such a low sense of himself that he can't imagine her falling for anything but a con. He can't imagine that Stella simply fell in love with little Ray Kowalski, because who the hell is even is that? He's convinced himself that he's been playing the part of 'the hero' all these years that he doesn't really see that he has actually become one. The person who recieved all those citations that Fraser recounts wasn't a lie or a con, it was Ray Kowalski, a good policeman, someone who one would be proud to call a partner and a friend. In my opinion Ray's biggest con was conning himself into believing he isn't good enough just the way he is.
