I absolutely loved how they handled guardians and Arkveld! I've been playing mh as a series since 2005 (long time) and you pick up on lore here and there. One of the biggest things I'm so happy with is that Alma, your handler, is a more active handler and you can see how heartbroken she was after seeing Guardian Arkveld's situation. She knew Nata wanted to try and understand it and try to help. But given how it wasn't killing to feed and was just hunting, it was posing a threat to the surrounding area. I'm like... Fuuuuuck. She wants to ease the situation for Nata, but her job comes first. Just reading the line "For the continued preservation of this ecosystem... The Guild authorizes you to slay the Guardian Arkveld." Like that just made my whole body shiver. I'm sorta explaining this as if people don't know, but just stay with me for a min. There's like.. 4 classifications on hunts technically. I say 4 because repel exists, but there's 3 main ones: Capture, Hunt, Slay. Capture is self explanatory: Bring it back alive, no other option. Hunt is freedom of choice to capture or slay the target. Usually this is your standard mission type. And you'll hear Alma say the Guild authorizes you to hunt "X" monster, which enables you to do either option. But for Guardian Arkveld. It's specifically Slay. The reason this was so significant to me is because lore wise, the only things subjected to Slay style hunts are elder dragons or extremely violent monsters that cannot be calmed down. Considering Alma stated "For the continued preservation of the ecosystem..." it's acknowledged that Guardian Arkveld is capable of causing cataclysmic damage to the surrounding ecosystem and threatens its stability. By "technical" definition, that's a classification for an Elder Dragon. But seeing that Guatdian Arkveld is synthetic, there's nothing there to officially classify it as one. So we're treating it as an elder without it being officially classified as one. I absolutely love this detail in the game! It's so good!

Which also brings me to my other bit, the guardian monsters. They're synthetically created, which I think is a great thing to touch on in the mh universe. It was sorta a minor lore entry in one book about the Wyverians creating the Equal Dragon Weapon as a force capable of beating back elders without issue so they could survive, but it got out of hand and caused the downfall of their own people and civilization. So there's always been the question of of this was possible. The Keepers showing that the Guardian monsters were creations by their ancestors essentially confirms this lore and now begs the question of if the EDW is an actual thing. They're bringing so much hidden lore into play now and I'm all for it! I heaaaaard imma lose it at the next hunt, which I plan to do when I go home after work, but I told my friend all this and they just said I gotta hunt. So I'm excited to see how this plays out!

i sure can thank u for asking! i'll try to make it a bit more brief but under my top 4 i'll add a readmore with a longer list in case u wana read that and not the like. Odysseys Blood Introductory Game Pack.

so starting with the top picks:

1. The World Ends With You

i think a lot of people have a similar feeling about this game. you play as neku, recently deceased kid with no memories no friends and a whole lot of attitude and your main goal is to survive the reaper's game for 7 days to get a chance at living again. he trusts no one and believes in nothing but himself and being an extremely depressed middle schooler, i related to him but watching the way he changes over time and learns to open himself up. its kind of an eye-opener and i've seen the same though echoed through a lot of different people like me who wanted to really give up but this game does take you by the hand and oush you to try again. make connections. live and whileit may be a struggle its alright because you always have the option to keep going. also the ost is AMAZING and the art style is very unique and the story and characters captivate you so well. idk where id be without this game honestly. preferably if you do want to play its best to play the og on a ds (can be done w/ a hacked one) but if not its on switch and theres a sequel! which is ok but its not as great as original twewy

2. Tales of the Abyss

ToA (or tota as most ppl tag it but i stick with toa to match the tags for other tales games. which are also good esp vesperia i just wont add it to this list bc its already gonna be a long one). what stood out to me a lot with this game besides the main cast who i love to bits, is its theme on religion actually. when i first played toa i was still in the church and the main theme of religion in toa can be boiled down to devotion is all fine and good, but don't let it rule your life. the fate that is written out for you doesn't rule you, you make your own choices. even if they seem futile, you still don't have to take your fate sitting down you can kick and scream and fight as much as you want towards another path if that truly is what you desire. and that resonated with me heavily. this one's a little more crunchy looking from its age but i still really like the graphics (and i played on 3ds lol) and the environments in tales games are all so stellar its such a good game. and oh my GOD the party interactions. tales games usually do really good at having main casts that are "6-8 people who have no business being stuck together but they are anyways" and i think the part for this one will always be my favorite. also last little bit but theres so much about identity in toa as well and the way the main character, luke, is written with his own struggles about feeling like his own person has gripped me to this day. ive heard this one is hard to find a physical copy of but like. again shoot me a message if u have a hacked 3ds

3. AI: The Somnium Files

i've been here since day ONE (not exactly but theres a youtube page for one of the characters they were using to drop some info before the game released and i was watching while that was still going so. close enough). i am obsessed with aitsf. my icon is even the main character (edited a bit and w/ stickers). this game doesn't have combat like the first to and is strictly a visual novel and i adore the way it explores the central theme of love, especially familial love and its many shapes and forms and how sometimes even through blood it just doesnt. exist. but that doesnt mean you dont deserve love. someone will be there to give it to you and if not you take it however you can. this is much more apparent in the left half of the game which to this day has made the mizuki route my favorite. this one's eveywhere (playstation, steam, switch) and goes on sale frequently on steam for like $7. this one also has a sequel which is pretty good but again i think the original is much better

4. Heaven Will Be Mine

honestly with how many people i see daily gushing over poetry and writing im surprised more dont play hwbm. its a space mecha visual novel set in the aftermath of a war where earth sent children to go fight an existential threat which may not have even existed and now all of those kids are adults who have grown up without the shackles of society on the earth which js funny enough, finally calling for them to come back. the writing is beautiful and fun to pick apart and if you're a fan of prose i definitely think you should give this one a try. double of you're lgbt in any way this game is good for its writing about queerness especially if you're trans. please play hwbm. this one's on steam and doesnt have a sequel game but the devs, worst girl games, also made We Know The Devil which i like less than hwbm but its still pretty good! that ones got gay religious trauma

continuing is just a list of more i like in no specific order. some of these may be a bit cringey but i like fun

Witch's Heart

listen i know theres some strange bias some ppl have gainst rpgmaker pixel games but like. 1) odd but ok 2) witch's heart is such a beatiful story i need you to throw whatever biases you may have abt pixel games RIGHT NOW. my header text comes from this game. it means everything to me. do you have a wish you would kill for? does your wish mean more to you than another's? how much will you let your selfishness control you. for a game that looks so silly it made me cry a lot. this one's free on vgperson's translated game list and theres still MORE BEING MADE. SO MUCH GAME. FOR FREE. LOOK AT ME. ITS FREE. and heartwrenching.

To The Moon/Finding Paradise/ Impostor Factory

this description is short but similarly a pixel game like the previous rec. its more understandably heavy considering you play as eva and neil who fulfill the wishes of the dying in their dreams. its sad. i cried. i cry a lot dont i? these r on steam

Just Shapes and Beats

a rhythm game this time! it's got a cute little story mode but it is just a dubstep rhythm bullet hell i like playing. did you know i was a dubstep fan in middle school well now you do and im sad skrillex is mid now. its on steam and switch. not a good pick however if you are sensitive to flashing lights or have epilepsy im sorry. i believe there are safe modes but i havent tested them myself to see how well they work

Paranormasight

paranormasight is a horror visual novel illustrated by gen kobayashi who, if you can tell from the linework on the sprites and in the portraits and what have you, illustrated for twewy. i'll be real i was ready to screan and cry 30 minutes in but its not actually that scary im just a wimp. this one could be seen in a similar vein with witch's heart in the idea of: what would you do to fulfill your greatest wish. how many people would you kill. because you will be killing. on steam and switch.

Bustafellows

for being an otome bustafellows rly got me. while being an otome it is still plenty silly but heavy with fun characters. also i think this is the first time ive really liked an otome mc they tend to be very waify and kinda annoyingly written tbh but teuta is a VERY fun character and not at all a stand in for a self insert. or at least she isnt good at being a self insert which is fine to me because i love a main character that has their own personality. a guy dies like 10 minutes in. this ones on steam

Mamiya

i seem to like a lot of visual novel games with time loops and dead main characters and this is another one. very dark but i love it to bits. also this one requires a warning list i haven't seen anywhere but i made one myself here. its on steam

And the lego people in turn are made of lego people. It's lego people controlling lego people "all the way down" with no beginning and no end and you're sandwiched somewhere in between eternity and forever.

And you're not just one of the lego people, you're all of them. They are your mirror reflections scattered across spacetime. Your past, your future, and your potential.

The nature of reality is to ask what should be experienced within the void of nothing. That question is all there is.

"In the beginning there was the word."

Then when that question is asked, you ask what that question is. Then you ask what THAT new question is.

So we are constantly asking "what is this question? " when we look out at the world around us. The world is always tempting us to figure it out and to develop our own idea of it.

But the source of the world comes from the very first question: "what should exist in the void", or "what Am I" which in a way are the same questions if you're in a void with nothing but your self.

This recursive seeking creates the infinite YOUs that have been called lego people. They've been called elves and gnomes too. Sometimes people see them as repeated versions of their bodies.

As for the jester, I have less experience with him, though I believe he's an amalgamation of lego people just as everything else is. He's a higher order one. Sort of the mind and the hive of the hivemind. It's possible we each have a jester. It's also possible he's us before we jumped into this multiverse. Us before we asked the question "who am i in a void?", kicking off a Big Bang of self-recursive discovery. He seems to play a managing role, so i could see him as the us before this reality, conducting the lego people to form our experience.

He's trapped in the same loop of questioning that we are. His questions pertain to our entire reality and what happens when he moves it.

If it helps, you can see the lego people as embodiments of the question they are currently asking within spacetime, and how the answer of your current question looks when factoring their question into account.

This is very confusing so I'ma just make multiple responses for the multiple thoughts I have on this

I feel like "Lego people" are an analogy for cells but if that's the case I'm not rly sure what the jester is, are you saying that the jester is above us? Like we're the building blocks of him. I'm also kinda realizing that this is also kind of (if I squint) a theory on how time is only relative to humans and beings that perceive it and how time and space as we understand them aren't there if there's nothing to perceive it.

This also feels like some paraphysics so idk if ur serious or not but it is interesting to think about multiple worlds is cool but idk if we can ever prove it

If you are serious about Lego people and that's not just an allegory for cells or brain waves then I'm a bit concerned but I've seen worse on this site

"Are you sure you wana ride that thing? Wouldn't you prefer to test it out virtually first?" Idia asks, his gaze lingering on you as you sit on the Blastcycle he made...for fun.

He didn't see the point in riding these things. Sure, tinkering with them and making them from scratch was thrilling, but taking a ride on it? Yeah, no. It has to be just as bad, if not worse, than flying. Okay, maybe he can see the appeal just a bit. Anime characters look so cool when they drift dramatically onto the scene just in time or when the main character went on a drive with the sun setting in the background.

It's so cringey that he imagines himself doing that for you. Ugh. At this rate, he's going to end up like a real normie. Gross.

"That's different," you argue. You let your fingers glide across the machine while balancing on it. "I can't feel the wind in my hair or the motor- it does use one, right?"

"If you want a simulation of the real thing, I can make it in a snap." He grins, full of pride. And you believe him. "Yeah, I guess in your case. Magic is supposed to power it, but you can be basic and go without it." A pause as he pulls his hands together. "I-If you need me to power it with my magic I can."

"Really?!" Your eyes widen and you smile. "Than-"

"Prefect!"

Idia jumps as he hears another voice, one that isn't Ortho or Grim's. He's quick to hide behind you to avoid any sort of interaction. So much for having some alone time out in the fields. Normal people wouldn't be out here while the sun is setting. While Idia would have preferred coming out in the dead of night, even he knows the roaring sound of this machine could wake the heaviest of sleepers.

"Hey, Deuce!" You wave to your friend as he approaches.

The first year comes to a halt in front of you. If it weren't for Idia's flickering flames, he may not have noticed him.

"Oh, uh, hello, Idia! Sorry, I didn't see you there."

"I wish you hadn't..." You hear him mumble. You reach out behind and put a soothing hand on his shoulder, rubbing him gently.

He's grateful for the comfort and glad that one of your more...calmer friends approached. Well, somewhat calm. As long as he didn't activate his delinquent mode then Deuce wasn't too bad on his own. As long as that other extrovert isn't tagging along with him, he may just survive this encounter.

"What brings you out here? I thought you had to study per Riddle's rules?"

"I do..." He sighs. "But I started to get a headache and decided to take a walk. Clear my head a bit, ya know? But hey, I didn't know you had a Blastcycle." Deuce eyes the machine more than he does you. A part of him feels like he has to apologize for giving it more attention than his friend, but could you blame him?

"Is it a new model?" His eyes are filled with childlike wonder and awe. You can tell that he just wants to reach out and touch it, grasp the handles and take it for a spin. It's taking all his might to simply keep his hands at bay instead of touching this priceless piece of machinery.

"No? Kind of? It's homemade." You point to Idia, who flinches as the conversation switches to him. "He made it."

"Idia made this?!" Deuce gasps. "Ignihyde is known for its technical powers, huh? It looks even better than the latest model..."

"Right?!" You chirp, leaning forward and nearly sliding off the vehicle. As you steady yourself, you continue, "I don't know too much about Blastcycles, but I saw Idia put the whole thing together on his own! Not even Ortho helped him out. It's like he knew the machine like the back of his hand! He even said he added some new thrusters! This thing even has some magic energy saver, which is cool to! You know, I bet if Idia made me one that I could use I'd beat all the magic riders." You say with a bright and confident grin. "You included, Deuce."

"Is that a challenge?" He says, getting excited by the prospect of a friendly fight.

"Hmph. They'd definitely beat you," Idia mumbles, not expecting Deuce to hear him. He retreats into his hoodie when their eyes meet and turn so his back faces him.

"Whatever Idia makes, I know it will be better than anything else." This time your voice loses that bit of fight, going softer. "He's just cool, ya know? Smart and pretty. I'd trust in whatever he makes me."

A part of Deuce melts at how sweet you can be towards your boyfriend. Of course, he still thinks he could win in a match against you, but he also knows that he shouldn't doubt his senior's skills. Even if said senior is hiding in his hoodie and trying to hide that fleeting pink hair of his within it.

"Do ya think I could test it out sometime?" Deuce asks to take his attention off Idia.

Now, you turn to look at him. You're not too surprised to find him hiding from the conversation, though you had expected him to throw in an answer.

"I'll ask him later." You say to your friend. "I can get him to say yes, don't worry," you add with a grin.

Deuce's eyes light up once more. He then clears his throat and stands tall to act as if he was never offered a golden opportunity.

"Thanks, Prefect!" Now he's excited. Then it dawns on him that he's out here for a reason. And now he's probably third-wheeling a date. Should he apologize now or just go? He isn't quite sure, but he decides on the latter. "And, uh, thanks for talking. I'm going to head back to my dorm now," a sigh. "Or it'll be off with my head..."

As you wave to your friend, you pray that he'll survive his study session. It's not his strongest point, but you do want him to do his best. Once left alone, you turn your attention back to Idia. While he may not have been active in the conversation, you always checked up on him after a hard encounter.

"You okay?" You ask as you slide off the Blastcycle and stand beside him. He seems okay compared to earlier as he's not too hunched over, but he still grips his hoodie and keeps it pulled down. And that's worrying.

Until you see his pink flames. A tendril of once-blue hair seeps from his hoodie. He couldn't conceal all of his lengthy hair no matter how hard he tried.

"Wh-Why do you talk like that...?" He asks, lifting his head so your eyes can meet. You find that his cheeks are colored the same as his hair.

"What do you mean?"

"So...lovey-dovey. It's cheesier than those Markhall movies."

"Do you not want me to do that?" You frown.

You adored talking about Idia, especially with Ortho. The younger Shroud was happy to have someone who could appreciate his amazing older brother. But sometimes, you slipped. Like today with Deuce. At least your friend didn't seem to mind the way you spoke about him, although to be fair others would be. You're just thankful it was Deuce who dropped by and not Ace. You didn't want to hear him fake gag over your love.

"I could dial it down a bit if you want."

"N-No! I just..." He releases his hold on his hoodie, fumbling with his hands as he tries to figure out what to say. "No one really hypes me up aside from Ortho...A-And hearing it come from you is like a dream...! They're like super special voice lines I should have recorded..." He's desperately trying to hide that toothy smile of his. You know he dislikes it, meanwhile, you found it charming.

"It's all true, you know," you nudge him with your shoulder. "You're the coolest person I've met. The best one too. Should I list all your wonderful attributes?"

"D-Do you seriously want me to KO here and now?!"

Another laugh escapes you. "I'd rather you stay conscious. So, I'll keep it for another time." You lean towards him to give him a quick peck on the cheek. If you couldn't kill him with your kindness, you would with your love.

Idia burns even more with that display of affection. At least no one, aka Deuce, is around to see it. He loves what you do to him, but at the same time, he feels as if his heart can't keep up.

“And what makes you idiots think he will talk to me eh?” You grabbed your coffee and started to walk to your office.

“Just give it try, I’ll even buy you lunch for a week!” You stopped at your tracks and looked behind at Anthony and raised your eyebrows. “I’ll drive you to work and back home for a week?”

You thought for a second Free food and free transport hmm. “Fine but if he doesn’t talk or I come out of there running for my life you owe me more than free food and transport.”

You have time until the interrogation. You walked out of your office and into Anthony’s.

“Hey Anthony do you have Sebastian’s case files? Or any files linked to him in general.” Anthony smirked. “Yes I do m’lady” and you weren’t surprised when Anthony handed you a bunch of case files. You muttered a ‘thanks’ to him and went to exit.

“Y/n!” You looked back to Anthony. “Just be careful when you go, you will be sitting face to face with him in the cube. If feel wrong or unsafe please do say” Anthony looked back at you with concern.

“It’s okay, I’m gonna be fine Anthony.” You gave him a warm smile and went to go and check out the files until the interrogation.

You stood infront of the cell door, Anthony was beside you and few other workers were getting the equipment ready.

“Y/n, there will be two guards outside of the cube he is in, but the glass walls are thick so scream really loud of just dash of the chair and they will help you. Another thing, you will start the recording and get him to talk- he doesn’t like it when others are watching so it will just be the two of you.” Anthony went to go open the cell door.

“I’ll be right here okay” you smiled at him and took your file and the recorder with you inside the cell.

It was dull, lifeless and grey. Yet the glass cube stuck out, each step you took towards the cube made your heart beat even more faster. You reached to the door of the cube and hesistated to open it.

There he was, his cold dead blue eyes staring into your soul. You gulped in your nervousness and opened the glass door and walked in. You jumped when the guard locked it.

Sebastian took notice of your nervousness and he loved it. He smirked at you and got himself comfortable. This was gonna be a nice feed.

Come on y/n you have done this before.

You sat down at the table and put out the recorder and file. You put on a stern face on and began talking.

“Hello I’m detective y/n and I work in the behavioural science unit. I will now be your ‘negotiator’ for this case. Before I start the recording, do you have any questions Stan?”

“Do you guys have Coca Cola? I’m thristy for sweetness.” What? “I’m sure, we can get that arranged for you Stan, anything else?”

“Call me Sebastian babygirl” you scoffed silently and opened the file case “ and you call me y/n, Sebastian.”

“Why you putting on the tough act baby, a minute ago you were scared as kitten to meet me.” Sebastian chuckled, you rolled your eyes and started the recording.

You mentioned your name and Sebastian’s name and got on with the interrogation.

“September 15 2017 explain the scenario Sebastian.”

“I’m not interested” his voice went deep.

“Okay then, you wana keeping on acting shit then rot here while others walk free getting whatever they want and what do you have Sebastian. Nothing.” You stared him down, Sebastian clenched his jaw.

“Come on prove me wrong.”

“So now your acting immature-“ “dead bodies.”

Your raised your eyebrow, “you have dead bodies” “Yh I do, what’s more powerful than money and status and whatever bullshit is that you have the courage to stab the shit out of someone.” Sebastian smiled.

“September 15 was my ‘best friends’ promotions, she wasn’t even a best friend, we fucked and all and we stabbed each other with our emotions but she was one bitch.” Sebastian took a break and made eye contact.

“Can I get my Coca Cola now?” Showing that stupid smile.

“Sebastian as I said I can get that arranged, now back to the murder. So she was some sort of friends with benefits but about ‘stabbing each other with emotions.” Don’t you think that was a lead to your murder.”

“I mean the idiot that I murdered first I couldn’t care any less of, but Yh she was being annoying -I only did It to show her and get her to go fucking mental and then murder her.”

“How did that make you feel?” This might not be a cold case after all.

“Polarised” Sebastian started laughing. “It made me feel fucking polarised, and she’s some dumb bitch she’s not even worth my time.” Worth, maybe this is what it’s about, worth.

“How did she annoy you?” Sebastian groaned. “I don’t like fucking about I’m serious when I need to be but apparently I wasn’t worth her fucking shit so I wasn’t just gonna sit my ass down”

“But showing her that dumb ass was fun, you feel.....you feel in control. Which allows you to polarise them”

“I think that is enough for today. I’ll be back for feedback. This chat was an ‘opening’ thank you.” You stopped the recorder and closed the file.

“Make sure it’s you next time to talk or else I won’t say shit anymore.” You looked at Sebastian “and why is that? Why did you open up to me?”

“You remind me of her. When she was mine and I was hers.” Her? His friends and benefit girl? “That’s interesting to know”

“And it will be interesting to know you babygirl” Sebastian chuckled.

And then an explosion of excitement from the crowd.

Sebrina falls to the ground, her drummer helps her off the stage  

Dick is asked by the police to help her while she’s on tour in Detroit 

when he mentions it to the police Garfield says he knows her from his acting days 

She’s a huge star especially among troubled teens 

He comes to meet her

Sebrina not super into it but her agent is 

Dick feels like something is off about her. She’s kind of secretive.  

He goes to a club she’s promoting 

They start hanging out and she flirts with him a little. 

The party is super busy and he helps her get away from some paparazzi

He notices while they are running away that Sebrina her hands twitch 

Her fans help them get away too.  

She tells him she loves her fans “They are like family” 

They talk about secret lives. 

Sebrina mentions that she is like two different people

She was glowing, he had to blink twice, but there is was. As if an angelic glow was around her swirling with the music. Probably some lighting effect but, it was beautiful. She was beautiful.

He gets a call late at night

Someone left a package with broken lights and a book “Good Night Moon” 

Sebrina is crying and Dick realizes she knows something 

“Do you remember how I said everyone has a secret side? My birth dad left my mom when I was a little girl. Apparently a few months later he was arrested for trying to break into a woman’s house. He was in and out of prison. But I never thought it mattered until… I became famous.” 

Dick asks his friends to help him watch her.

She gets to meet the Titans “How do you know the titans?” “Well one of them knows you.” 

Her and Garfield reconnect and  spend some time talking about that 

“Thanks, guys I feel so much safer now.” 

Dick stops her before she goes on stage 

“You are going to be fine”

“I know because you will be there” she kisses him then runs onto stage. 

Her father attacks the stage. 

He’s a meta who can blow things up. 

Dick saves her but as he does she also helps him by using her own powers.

She can control light 

They fight her father

All the lights go out and they are running around the dark venue. 

Her father gets away and she asks Dick if he will hate her now because she lied about her powers.

“How could I ever hate you? You made me Starstruck.”

They kiss under the night sky 

Next day she comes to the Titan's place to talk to Dick

“I’m going to continue my tour but maybe we can meet up boy wonder?” 

“I would like that”

As Sebrina drives away she knows he won’t. The men in her life can never wait around for her. Don’t like sharing her with her work. 

He comes to her next show 

“Turns out I'm your biggest fan”

well shit i ....this is super difficult since as u all know im up drucks arse, but i think the relationship between isak and jonas was amazing, and only druck has come to rest on that level to me. i also think their general feel, it feels so "everyday"? like you're actually watching day to day life, and not something overly dramatised for the sake of it ??? like obviously it's dramatic it's a show, but it's not *three car crashes and someone drowns* u know?

(nobody i follow thinks this but let me open up anon hate for myself a sec) that fr is a good remake in general. like even without the big obvious issues they have, the remake in general just isn't well done. don't come for my throat, i used to love it when it was the only one airing S3, but then i took a look at it and realised i was settling, cause it just ISN'T good, without the fucking blatant sexualisation of teenagers played by 30 year old men, and the sheer levels of fucking racism. it's overly dramatic, it's badly written, everything is stated too obviously and nobody actually feels like a real teenager which has a lot to do with casting people in their mid to late 20s

definitely not white, not model-hot, maybe with a disability. idk, probably cause i was hard of hearing as a child, but id like to see a hard of hearing even

One day you were in the arms of the love of your life, and the next you heard he was dead. He died in the battle on Sokovia, a battle you didn’t go to. Tony had said he needed you back at the tower in case something happened, you would be able to send his other suits for help.  If something happened, you would be able to get project two and three for help.

It wasn’t as if you could fight the robots, you were better on the computer than anything else. With you back at the tower, you could hack the internet, find Ultron, and take him down from the inside. It was all simple, and when they returned, you would be able to relax with your boyfriend for many years. However, the reality hurt more than any kind of pain you’ve experienced.

Before Ultron, you had been the test subject for HYDRA along with the Maximoff twins, Wanda and Pietro. Through HYDRA, you had gotten close to Pietro until one day you two had gotten so close, you started dating. There was nothing but passion in your relationship. He’d always do some elaborate thing to show you how much he loved you. Even with his powers, he’d still find a way to prove it to you.

HYDRA had tried two different things with you and the twins. They tried serums on the twins but planted a bug in your brain. One that was wired to their computer for if you ever got out of line. One press of a button and your head would explode. However, that bug they planted only made you smarter until one day, you were the smartest person on Earth.

Hacking into things was easy, and they had you hack into the most secure databases in the world to get what they wanted. After a while, they forgot about the button until Tony Stark and his friends showed up. It was all on you to create the best defense system known to man, and the twins were on board since a Stark is what killed their parents.

However, you teamed up with the Avengers to take down Hydra. One of Tony’s suits brought you back to the Avenger’s compound where some of his friends were waiting for you. When he figured out that you had no fighting experience, he thought it be best to take you away from the fight where you could work from the inside. With just a few X-rays, the doctors saw the bug HYDRA planted years before, but your brain had grown around it, making it impossible to cut out without killing you. Once the button was destroyed, you hacked into the account so shut down the program that was meant to kill you.

The only thing you weren't expecting was the pain. The pain of knowing that the person you loved the most had died while trying to save a bunch of Sokovians. When Wanda came back without her brother, your heart broke into a million pieces and hasn’t been whole since.

2 years passed, but the hole had not been filled, no matter how much you tried. Wanda needed her best friend, and you needed yours. Together, you two became inseparable, always having each other’s backs.

“It’s a nice day out, want to take a walk with me?” Wanda asked as she knocked on your door.

“Sure, that sounds nice,” you muttered before getting up. The pain was still with you even after all this time. Yours and Pietro's anniversary was coming up, and you were trying everything to forget it. Grabbing your jacket, you followed Wanda out of the compound before beginning your walk.

“I know you miss him, I do too,” she said quietly.

“Yeah, well, he was your brother, your twin.”

“He was your fiance,” she whispered.

“It doesn’t matter now, does it? I just need to move on. It’s the only way I’ll survive,” you sighed.

“Come on, there is an ice cream shop around here. My treat,” she said with a smile. Wrapping an arm around your shoulders, she took you to the place before going over to the counter. Letting her order for you, you sat down before looking out the window. Everywhere you looked, couples were enjoying themselves as if nothing bad has ever happened to them. Looking in the distance, you tensed up when you saw someone with silver hair, just like Pietro’s.

No, what are you doing? Pietro is dead, Clint told you so himself when he saw him get shot, like, ten times trying to save him. There was no way he could have survived those wounds. However, that color looked strangely familiar.

“Here you go,” Wanda said as she set your cup in front of you. She noticed you staring out the window with a concerned look on your face. “What is it?”

“Nothing,” you shook your head. “Thought I saw someone I knew, is all. Thank you.”

The date at the ice cream shop went by well, and Wanda tried everything in her power to talk about things other than her brother. The whole time, she had you laughing about something Tony or Steve did in the tower. It was nice to laugh since you hadn’t done it in a while. Afterward, you two decided to take the long way home and enjoy the scenic route.

“Thank you for this, I needed it,” you smiled.

“Yeah, I needed it as well. Had to get out of the compound, right? Next time, we should invite Natasha.”

You were just about to agree with her when you felt the wind pick up. A blur of silver rushed at you before you felt arms wrap around your body. Whoever grabbed you had powers like Pietro, and they spun you around until you got so dizzy you couldn't’ see straight. Whoever held you stopped spinning before you felt lips on yours. Widening your eyes, you looked at Wana who had tears in her eyes with her hands over her mouth.

Pulling away, you looked at the man you thought was dead, the man who had been absent from your life for two years.

“Pietro… how are you alive?”

“I was never dead. I’ll explain later, I missed you too much,” he said before kissing you passionately.
