OOO AN FF7 PMD AU?? what Pokémon did you decide to make each of the characters?
Hi! I don’t have all the characters’ species figured out yet, but here’s some of the major ones!
Cloud is a Jolteon, and the current owner of the Buster Looplet
Barret is a Blastoise, although with the design detail that one of his paws is replaced by a prosthetic Mega Blastoise claw with an arm cannon
Tifa is a Lucario! When it comes to using aura, she dislikes prying too much into other Pokémon’s emotions. As such, she mainly only uses it during combat to gauge her opponents’ next moves. For some odd reason, she has trouble reading Cloud’s aura.
Aerith is a Bayleef, with her White Emera, this AU’s version of the White Materia, kept safely tucked in the pink ribbon she wears around her head leaf.
Nanaki is an Entei
Yuffie is a Treecko
Vincent is a Zoroark, who due to events in his past is sometimes able to become one with the illusions Zoroark are able to conjure.
Cid is a Fearow, and currently works as a transporter
Cait Sith is a Decoy Doll controlled psychically by Reeve! The Moogle Doll in the AU is a Kangaskhan Rock able to move due to Reeve’s abilities
Reeve is a shiny Reuniclus
Zack is a Luxio
Marlene is a shiny Flabebe currently without a flower, as flowers are rare in Midgar
Claudia is a Flareon
Jessie is a Raichu
Biggs is a Fraxure
Wedge is a Shieldon
Hojo is a Banette
Sephiroth is a shiny Gallade
Lucrecia is a Gardevoir
Jenova is a Missingno, with various forms such as Ghost, Aerodactyl skeleton, and Kabutops skeleton

Alaxia does not interrupt Gaia at all while she speaks He nods along with his eyes closed, attempting to memorize what she was saying to him. This information was vital to him, so he wanted to show as much respect as possible as he listened. She made a few points he hadn't entirely thought of, she was correct. He probably would have a bit of a target on his back once things were done. He makes mental notes of precautions he could take. Once she finished speaking, he reopens his eyes and looks at her with a thankful smile
Tumblr media
Alaxia leaves the strange orb alone for a moment, not entirely wanting to accept it until the bargain was fulfilled. That would be rude. He takes a small step back, glancing around him to make sure nobody was paying much attention. Thankfully, he was in a more secluded area from everyone else. He scans the area for prying eyes just in case, double checking to make sure that Etoile was nowhere in sight. Once the coast is clear, he positions himself straight and takes a small inhale
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mew's arm suddenly jerks and cracks unnaturally It constantly snapping back and forth in a chaotic manner. Glitch particles surrounding the area of his arm, flickering in and out. Despite this sight, the mew seemed to show no real pain or discomfort of this action. It was all familiar to him by this point. The arm finally creates one last loud S N A P The mew's arm had become deformed. Sharpened even Somewhat reminiscent of a skeletonized claw of a kabutops.. Alaxia raises the claw up near his face, showing a corrupted object floating were his palm would have been.
Tumblr media
The strange object continuously glitches in and out of existence, but manages to hold shape enough. It mostly remains rectangular in shape, but one every so often morphs into another. Particles continue to float around it as it emits a white-ish glow. Alaxia holds out his now scythe like arm, offering it to Gaia. Despite the odd appearance and dramatic change of half his body, he remains genuinely friendly. Alaxia: It's all yours~ Alaxia: Do let me know if this is enough however. I can give more, but I just didn't want to accidentally warp the room around us or get any unsightly gazes.

Hey clan was wondering if you could do a fic or hcs about reader finding out Larry is a missingno because they used to live in Kanto?
Yesssss I honestly love that Missingno!Larry theory to the moon and back
.....
Being born and raised in Kanto, you were caught up on the many myths and legends shared around the region. You've done a lot of research on the Pokémon associated with them, believing all the tales to be true.
But while most libraries and websites displayed stories of the legendary bird trio and the feline genetic experiments...there was one particular Pokémon seldom mentioned by even the oldest Kantonians.
One that was so bizarre and otherworldly that it could hardly be described as a Pokémon at all.
That was Missingno.
It piqued your interest, although it took a good while to find people who witnessed this creature...and even longer to find anyone willing to share what it looked like, as no photos of it existed anywhere.
But the responses weren't what you expected, as they claimed to have seen different forms of it.
One person said it resembled one of the ghosts seen in the Pokémon Tower, while a few theorized it was a haunted Aerodactyl or Kabutops skeleton seeking revenge against poachers.
The only thing these accounts had in common was the alleged location of Missingno: along the eastern coastline of Cinnabar Island.
And so you set off on a quest to find it, with your Lapras assisting you in the search as it surfed along the coast.
After some time, you finally encountered Missingno's true form.
It could only be described as incomprehensible--a clump of computerlike glitches forming the shape of a backwards "L".
You didn't even know how a thing like this could exist. But it was real, and you made sure your pokedex scanned it, revealing its number was "000" and some other unusual information about it. Such as it being a Normal/Bird type.
Not flying..but bird.
At the time you were too anxious to catch it, fearing that the stories of it corrupting people and Pokémon were true, and that it could wipe out all the progress you made on the dex. Even Lapras was terrified, as it nearly threw you off its back upon seeing the creature, so you sailed back to shore with the data entry secured.
That was all the evidence you needed.
You've helped the puzzled scientists with studies of this creature a great deal with what you've gathered, although they got ambitious about capturing it themselves and enlisted your aid in tracking it down, calling it "Project: Missingno".
You initially objected to that; they never confirmed it as being a Pokémon, so trying to catch and control something they didn't quite understand yet seemed like a terrible idea...
But to satiate your own curiosity, you led their expedition team to Cinnabar weeks later, following the exact same path that took you straight to Missingno's habitat.
Yet it was nowhere to be found, much to your confusion. Nothing but sand remained.
Maybe somebody else caught it.
Regardless, Project: Missingno was terminated right there and then, and the town's interest in it died down rather quickly. Even the scientists who once obsessed over finding it suddenly dismissed your evidence as "glitches", saying your pokedex was corrupted and needed a reboot.
They were sure quick to scorn you when yesterday they praised you for making a "historic" discovery.
But you knew for a fact Missingno was real. You believed in it.
If it truly was a Pokémon..then perhaps more of its kind were out there in the wild. They might be simply hidden away.
Yet even after you visiting a few other regions, they had extremely scarce information on it..oftentimes none at all.
You began to think it was only a legend meant to stay in Kanto.
Then you took a trip to Paldea to study the Treasures of Ruin and got the most surprising lead..
..............
"Where are you taking--?! Oh...y-you just wanted to eat here, huh?"
"Zarrr!" Licking her chops, your Cyclizar smiled as she stopped short in front of a nice restaurant within Medali City. It was labeled "Treasure Eatery".
"Fancy name." You mused, stepping off her back and walking up to the menu posted outside, reading over what this place had to offer. "I guess we afford some "fine-dining", huh girl?"
Smiling, you patted her head, and in turn she grinned and licked your cheek. "Hahaha, that tickles." You snickered. "C'mon. I think this is the place that can alter your tera type with a quick meal, too."
Surprisingly enough, you've become well-acquainted with Paldea's many customs and Pokémon--among them being the Cyclizar you found. She helped you get across the vast region and out of many sticky situations with the unusually aggressive Tauros herds.
You noticed that the flying taxi cabs carried by groups of Squawkabillies was the main source of transportation, but the idea of riding a motorcycle dragon-type seemed astronomically cooler.
In a way, it reminded you of the bikes you always rode in Kanto.
Once you both entered the Treasure Eatery, you patiently waited behind who appeared to be an academy student ordering something to eat.
But after the host hollered out their order to the chef-
A battle court unexpectedly appeared in the dining section.
You and Cyclizar jumped back in shock, becoming even more confused at what the host declared:
"Congratulations! You've passed the Gym Test! Are you ready to challenge the Exceptional Everyman himself, Gym Leader Larry?"
'Huh? A gym battle...is here??' You were bewildered.
Last time you checked, the gym building was back outside: a tall, bright, and white structure with the logo plastered on the front. But then you remembered that you're not in Kanto anymore, and Paldea probably had its own gym customs.
Ordering a "secret menu item", however, did seem quite odd for a gym test...
Shrugging, you headed further in, securing a spot where the court was in perfect view. You passed by Larry who, sure enough, looked much like any ordinary business man. He was rigid in his movements, and monotone in his voice, even as you overheard him praise the challenger for passing his test.
Everything about him was plain and simple.
Regardless, you were eager to see the battle. So you ordered Cyclizar a dish of grilled fish, while you ate your own meal and watched the fight go down
Larry first sent out a Komala, who was swiftly struck down by the challenger's fighting type, before he sent Dundunsparce out next.
Although it put up more of a fight than the last Pokémon, it went down just as quickly. Yet Larry didn't seem all that concerned with losing, even as the staff and patrons tried getting him riled up, demanding something more exciting.
However, you immediately noticed something quite...off about him that made you do a double-take.
When he tossed out his final Pokémon, a Staraptor, his throw seemed unusually aggressive this time around. And it may have just been your imagination...but you swore on your life you saw a familiar pattern of glitches flickering around him, and his head becoming entirely detached from his body for a split-second.
Only then did you see his emotionless expression briefly change to one of panic, almost physically recoiling at the pain. Though it was quickly masked as he made eye contact with you, before refocusing on the match and terastalizing Staraptor.
Nobody else seemed to notice, but you knew exactly what you saw, as your Cyclizar began hissing and snarling in distress...much like what your Lapras did that fateful day.
It's obvious that she realized the same thing as you..
That Larry's physical body had become unstable, as if he were a living glitch masquerading as something else...
Just like it did.

Thoughts on the kabuto line?
Tumblr media
I always though Kabuto had a neat design. First, it's a pretty neat cross between a trilobite and a horseshoe crab. It's status as a horseshoe crab is also referenced by the 'dex, which calls it a "living fossil":
Tumblr media
But I also just think that it having four sets of eyes—two on top and two underneath—is really cool, especially with the eerie effect the pure red eyes give it (something usually reserved for ghost-types).
My only nitpicks with it are that the 3D models show it with a completely round underside as does the official art, but it was just supposed to be in shadow, with the underside silhouetted:
Tumblr media
It would've been nice to see more definition given to the silhouette, rather than just making it Round and calling it a day.
Also, the yellow legs are kind of random, seeing as they're not carried into Kabutops at all. I feel like they could've either been brown or the whitish color Kabutops uses. That's a minor thing, though. Overall, a neat little critter.
Tumblr media
I have mentioned previously that I'm a big fan of the early gen "kaiju-mon" with heavy plating, so it shouldn't be surprising that I like Kabutops as well. I like the speculative evolution (with it being a horseshoe crab that evolved to go on land), and you can never go wrong with scythe arms. The overall head shape and back spines are also really cool.
My only big complaint is the eyes. Ideally, a Pokemon should keep the most distinct elements from its pre-evo when it evolves, so it's weird that the awesome red eyes weren't carried over to Kabutops at all. Even just making the triangle eyes solid red and adding a pair of small black eyes between them would've helped to keep that element present in the design without changing it drastically.
There are also one or two things I find odd about the design—like, the right leg doesn't actually connect to the body in a way that makes sense (kind of awkwardly slapped on top of the upper side and the middle of the body). The black gaps feel way too wide for their own good, and the pointed pelvis is a bit weird looking, as it points down instead of back like the spines do. That's mostly nitpicky stuff though.
Overall, a cool horseshoe crab with a really awesome looking monster-y evo. My only complaint is that I would've liked to see Kabutops keep Kabuto's distinctive eyes; aside from that, it's solid.
Also, special shoutout to the Kabutops skeleton for being like those terrible skeleton Halloween decorations (as it should have an exoskeleton instead of an internal skeleton) and for being a Missingno. staple.

hey I was just wondering what your favorite glitch Pokemon was, and what kind of stuff could it do?
Ok so, haha I might be a little biased, but Missingno is my favorite pokemon. Just the greatest of all time. All forms, all versions etc etc.
But man if Aerodactyl Missingno and Kabutops Missingno aren't my absolute favorite lil guys out of the bunch. First off? SUPER cool looking. It's a giant moving skeleton how can you not love that?
But also, something they can do that no other pokemon can? Its their ability to copy stats! Check it out, man, say you've got an X - x in your party. Crazy high stats. Super good. But the move pool isn't great. You're not gonna get any set up moves, you gotta have Flash since it's born with the move and gets super uncomfortable without it so you're stuck to 3 moves in your set, and moves are gonna be super easy to predict. Psychic, Thunderbolt and Waterfall if you're building special, and Body Slam, Fly and Rock Slide if you're physical.
But if you've got a fossil Missingno on your team you can copy its stats with a whole different move set. Now you've got access to swords dance and earthquake if you wanna go physical, and stuff like Ice Beam on the special side. AND since fossil Missingno can copy any pokemon's stats in your party, it's gonna keep your opponent guessing about what your strategy is. Most of the time Menace takes down at least a pokemon or two before whoever I'm fighting figures out what it's build is and finds a way to take it out.
So that's Missingno. Favorite Glitch Pokemon, my lieutenant, right hand man and Force To Be Reckoned With!!

For once I am on time with a template! Kind of! Full credit to @blues-sues who made the template! The ancient mew design I referenced belongs to @phlurrii!! I was lmao en staring at ur references on how to make mine look good and honestly big thanks to @lotusmew because Mud wouldn't look the way he does now had it not been for you and your design of him he's come so far!! Without further ado!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mud can never ever escape the spine is slightly fucky I'm sorry lad
Tried to make his Mewtwo snout look longer than a normal twos but idk how well I did but he got long snoot
I know I didn't need to do a fusion two version of Mud but I WANTED TO the thought has possessed me for quite some time! His components are Kanghaskan, Marowak and houndoom! In reference to his adopted parents who he admires and loved dearly and the houndoom dna came from the houndoom skull he is often seen wearing but lmao not in this piece and I imagine that dna just got added on accident. Admittedly I didn't color pick or out I mainly did it from vibes alone and vaguely tryna match colors to the others, I really like that while he's usually purple with mud patterns when he's mud colored he gets purple patterns lmao
Fusion Mew Mud however is just Kanghaskan and Marowak in reference again to his adopted mommas he loves em dearly massive pouch baby he'd love having a pouch himself for his kids.
I more referenced Missingno for the ancient mew look as he is a longer bodied and features mew so makes sense to use Noe as they've for a lonk snout and such, his bone spine extras are actually meant to be like skeletal Kabutops in reference to well the skeleton Kabutops that I'm pretty sure Missingno takes the appearance of sometimes so homage to Noe? And also since he's old I figured his bones would look like that of an older Pokemon, I couldn't make it work but he probably can move his side bones outwards like the outer sail bones on Kabutops. Also made his crown neck a bit kinked for like diversity and while his crown is probably kinda flat it is wider over his skull and has more triangular shape to differentiate tried to be unique with it. Despite being an ancient mew Mud cannot escape looking like he needs a bath XD

i remember seeing a fakemon once that was like, a ghost possessing fossilized bones of different extinct species... now THATS a way of referencing the bone wars without the sad existence of g8's fossil pkmn. plus its a neat reference to the kabutops and aerodactyl skeletons, and missingno from g1. also its the only case where it makes sense for a fossil pkmn to be part rock type. cuz its literally bones.

An endoskeleton (internal) for kabutops can be seen in the anime and in the pewter museum (this sprite is also sometimes used for missingno) but the official excavation chocolates show it with an exoskeleton (external). While the latter is more accurate considering it’s an arthropod, this leads me to believe kabutops canonically has two skeletons.

A formal post (list) of fakemons inspired directly by Glitches Throughout the pokemon franchise. This has been solely my own doing and.. I want to share it for future OCs and ideas. This includes typing, dex entries, and more. Bad Egg will be in a future post when I have more ideas for it, It’s all very closely linked to its real glitch counterpart, and since Bad Egg / Pomeg Glitch is something I want to explore for actual fakemon inspired pokemon, it’ll require its own post.
SECTION 1: MISSINGNO AND ITS COUNTERPARTS -------- MissingNo!Kabutops - A rock and ghost type - Genderless - Said to be a spirit of a long dead Kabutops that’s decided it doesn’t want to leave the realm of the living yet, it endlessly searches for how it died in the first place. MissingNo!Aerodactyl - A fire and ghost type - Genderless - Said to have appeared after the revival of an Aerodactyl had failed, this skeletal roams the skies, nearly able to out-fly even a jet plane, cyanish flames cover what should be the wingspan of the Aerodactyl skeleton, and these flames cannot be extinguished.
------- MissingNo Alt Forms -------- ????? ‘ M (Glitched Celebi) - Fairy and Ghost types - Genderless - A Celebi cursed with being displaced through time itself while being traded or transferred through a PC, This Celebi frequently is unable to control its own time abilities. - M’Charizard - A Fire/Flying type - Male - No Female M’Charizard’s have existed or have been seen. A Charizard with green flames and a darker scale tone than regular Charizards, their screams have a distorted note to it that could make even the most resilient cower in fear. Its dex states it is also Dragon type on top on Fire/Flying. - M - Normal Type - Genderless - Currently ‘extinct’ these Kangaskhan were seen very briefly during prototype PCs, their is not much known, but their offspring have notes of other glitches in the system, going off with various birth defects with a large mortality rate. - ‘M (FF) - Fire/Flying - ??? - A hybrid Charizard that only can merge with M’Charizard, this somehow stabilizes a M’Charizard if put into an old Prototype PC together. All Stabilized ‘M (FF) Charizards live in a sanctuary. ---------OTHER EARLY GLITCH POKEMON-------- Q - Normal / Dragon - Male - A Nidoking with the ability to transform into a Mew, once it transforms it is never able to transform back. These Nidoking live in fear of that day and are solitary creatures, due to being unable to be caught after the transfer, they live in a Sanctuary in Alola, living out their best lives without that fear. - ?? - Normal / Psychic - Genderless - An extremely rare, but benign issue with transferring ?-Unown’s to another PC or to another trainer, All it seems to do is give another ? to the Unown’s appearance. - 3tPoke - Normal / Fairy - Female - An extremely powerful Clefairy from the prototype PC days, all records of how this one came into being have been corrupted by its very existence, it is said that its healing abilities have been pushed to its utter limits, and is currently in a Mega-Pokemon Center helping in case of emergencies. There is only one currently alive to dex knowledge. - Q > - Water / Psychic - ??? - This egg has been corrupted beyond imagination, it turns into a porygon-2 that dies on hatching, 100% mortality rate. Do not try to help it. - 4 4Hy - Water / Psychic - ??? - born from a similar bug in the system as Q >, but has seen much lower mortality rates as Q >, Ends up being a Slowbro with heightened Psychic abilities, do not approach, some say that these Slowbro evolve into monstrosities such as Q > or they end up evolving in Slowking immediately, this Slowking can cause anomalies through space itself with ease. - .g - Bug / Steel - ??? - A trade glitch that happens with any trade-evolution pokemon, it was only achieveable during the prototype trading processes, and would turn said pokemon into an oddly colored Spearow. - ゥ .4 - ??? - ??? - A anomalous beast upon anyone’s deepest fears and negative imaginations and intrusive thoughts. Said to be a spirit of an electric type pokemon, messing up all pokemon in a PC to turn them into ゥ .4 of their own, this is a Hivemind, call a trained professional if you come into contact with one. Can revive Q>, revealing its true form as a distorted garbled fusion of Seel and Rhydon. ------GEN.2 GLITCH INSPIRED POKEMON-------  ????? - Normal / Ghost or Normal / Dragon - Genderless - Two forms of this pokemon exist, but are garbled beyond recognition, one has a cry of a Gengar and the other, an Axew. They die upon hatching, not a single one has survived past hatching, but they have existed nonetheless. ------GEN.3 AND BEYOND------ óË (é Áî - Grass - Genderless - A grey Bulbasaur, All of its bulbs consistently crumble, and is in too much pain to allow it to even battle or let live. Scientists don’t have an answer for how something like this could happen. It is currently chalked up to an unknown birth-defect triggered by trading an egg via the PC. - ? - Depends - Depends - A glitch during prototype trades of a Treecko that could turn the pokemon into currently 25 different other species, from just another regular pokemon, all the way up to Mew, Deoxys and Celebi. It gains more speed stats than anything else. Outside of transforming itself into another pokemon this is completely benign.

I once said that it would be interesting to make a story version of my Pokemon game playthroughs, which depict all the glitches and shenanigans but from the character’s and bystander’s perspectives.
Having just finished the Yellow version exploration run... imagine that. Red waves goodbye to the Safari Zone employees, steps outside, and sees Glitch City. He turns around to go back into the Safari Zone entrance building that he just exited from, but the building isn’t there anymore. And when he goes to look at the map, his surroundings change drastically (the glitched pixels change when the start menu is up). He then warps away to Saffron City, heads east, and just before reaching the gate to the route, something crawls out of the dirt, and it’s a Kabutops (or Aerodactyl) skeleton, one after the other, like a damn horror movie, followed by Agatha, then Prof. Oak, and then a 23 foot tall monstrosity.
And of course, bystanders witness Dr. Red hovering above the ground, walking on air to walk through buildings and people, walking on water and through mountains. And then Dr. Red laughing maniacally as on one hand, there’s a heap of unrecognizable biomass, but on the other is a strangely uncomfortable looking Pikachu... that flies and uses Psychic. And you thought Mimikyu was creepy. That’s just some Ghost Pokemon using a Pikachu plushy, right? And not another Pokemon entirely that’s been crammed inside a Pikachu’s body.
