Does Karmic conviction follow the law of Sprite Inheritance™️ if so, can we have some examples of shared sprites?

Omg, what a fun question!! Of COURSE it does, Klaus and Constanze are both heavily influenced by the von Karma family so it's really fun thinking about how that would show :,) Constanze is a model von Karma of course, so she gets her equivalents of the already shared von Karma family sprites. I like the idea of her having a bow that's kinda halfway between Edgeworth's and Franziska's curtsy hehe

And of course, Klaus and Constanze are siblings, so there's a lot of parallels between the two of them as well! I think I mentioned this somewhere before, but the most obvious thing they share is that both of them will appear around crime scenes in silly places looking for clues, and afterwards, they both have a patting-themselves-down-and-adjusting-their-cravat sprite :)

I imagine Klaus flipping through his sketchbook looks similar to how Constanze flips through her ring binder too! I also definitely would want Klaus to pick up something from Athena after spending a bit of time with her, since he looks up to her so much. This is my top choice for that

web of wyrd: the karmic tail and who you were in a past life

tw: mention of death, abortion, mental illness, abuse, and addiction.

the numbers we are focusing on today are the bottom three numbers - this is called the karmic tail in web. these numbers are the lessons we need to learn most in our lifetime, but our focus today is on who you were in a past life and why you'd need to learn those lessons. i'm going to break down some i've seen multiple times for karmic tail examples (these numbers can be rearranged in any order to be applied to an observed webs).

so let's get to it:

hermit, empress, and world energy is an interest mix - i think of a few things. first let's quickly break down the energies. hermits can struggle with loneliness, be introverts, wise, whimsical, live a life of isolation/solitude, struggling to look closely at themselves, be too reliant on others, etc. empresses can be powerful, passive, feminists, creatives, dislike themselves, lack ambition to take initiative, struggle with pregnancy, have romantic complications, etc. and world people are either victorious or losers, they let go easily or can't move on in life, they celebrate themselves, be grateful for what they have, tend to be mature, they can lack closure in life, etc. some of the options i could think of as to who these karmic tail people could have been are a single mother, a monarch/queen/princess/duchess/lady (princess diana, is that you?), a famous female writer (it's giving sylvia plath), a convict, a prison or psych ward attendant, a woman who died in child birth or getting a back alley abortion, someone who had an unexpected death, someone who died alone, someone who struggled with self-esteem, etc.

devil, hierophant, and strength - makes my skin crawl honestly... but first let's quickly break down the energies. devil people can be confrontational, have self-destructive thoughts/behaviors, cope in unhealthy manners, etc. hierophants often learn and teach throughout their lifetime, they have a traditional mindset, power, rigid beliefs, can be very close-mindedness, etc. strength people can overcome most things they believe are in their way, they are courageous, confident, fear looking weak, despise looking vulnerable, etc. some of the options i could think of as to who these karmic tail people could have been are abusive parents/partners, addicts, people who abuse their power, bullies, those that play unfairly, etc.

hermit, hermit, and moon - i have a lot of friends with this karmic tail and i constantly talk with them about what it could mean, but let's again break down the energies. hermits can struggle with loneliness, be introverts, wise, whimsical, live a life of isolation/solitude, struggling to look closely at themselves, be too reliant on others, etc. moon people are familiar with their shadow-selves / primal-selves, constantly looking for ways to change/evolve, are spiritual, can be closed off to change, etc. some of the options i could think of as to who these karmic tail people could have been are witches/wizards, garden hermits, psychologists, those who struggled with mental health, etc.

(Sorta Kinda) Little Mermaid AU

Dream is the king of Atlantis, Orpheus is his only son who is all about that land stuff, and Hob is a (human) thief being transported with other convicts to a penal colony.

Orpheus likes to stalk all the ships that enter Dream's territory. He's always looking for new land stuff merch to add to his growing collection: human apparel, shiny trinkets, barrels of rum, sentient beings to adopt...

He really likes it when it storms because stuff falls overboard! And when the entire ship sinks? It's like the local mall just announced a 100% off sale of every item ever. Blood is to a shark as land stuff is to Orpheus. He goes fucking nuts about it.

And it just so happens that the ship carrying Hob is passing through Dream's territory.

So as Orpheus stalks this one ship, the Karmic Justice Or Something Like That, he sees Hob looking dirty and miserable on deck. But like, come on, he's still Ferdinand Kingsley so of course he's still handsome. And Orpheus is like, 'If anything falls overboard, I hope it's that one.'

His wish is granted. One night, a violent (non-magical) storm hits the ship, and Orpheus swims straight to Hob, who was one of the humans thrown overboard. Then, through some merfolk magic, he gives Hob the ability to breathe underwater and withstand oceanic pressure.

And then he cheerfully drags the very confused two-legged human back to Atlantis.

(RIP to the other humans who weren't as pretty as Hob.)

Hob is understandably going ????. Is he dead? Is this hell? Oh lord there is a kingdom under the sea, and merfolk are just like humans but instead of legs they have fish tails.

Freaky.

But! Before Orpheus could have his wicked way with him (because of course he'd want to), the TSA guards of Atlantis spot them, and they do their jobs and bring the prince and his illegal cargo to the throne room (for the 4th time this month), where Dream is of course fucking livid that Orpheus dragged not just another illegal upperworlder stuff, but an actual human back to Atlantis.

Orpheus does the whole 'But Daddy I love him!' speech while Hob is floating on the side being like, "We literally just met and you kidnapped me."

"I kidnapped you from certain death!" Orpheus says.

Dream has no time for this. He may have been lenient on Orpheus adopting drowning sentient upperworlders in the past, but after he stole Dream's symbol of power in order to turn Aristaeus the goat into a mergoat and failed (because he's not powerful or focused enough), Dream is going to have to intervene.

"You love this human?" Dream asks his son.

"Yes, Father," Orpheus answers promptly.

"You want him to be a part of this family?"

"Yes, Father."

"Then give him to me," Dream says. "I'm going to have him for a year, and if at the end you still love him, I will turn him into a merman."

"Don't I have a say in this?" Hob asks.

"Of course you have," Dream says. He even inclines his head like an asshole nobleman. "Decide whether you want to agree to this deal or die right now of drowning and oceanic pressure."

Hob looks around at all the shiny things and decides, fuck it. He's gonna live and he's gonna steal from these half-fish bastards and escape back to civilization and live a rich man's life. So he agrees to the deal.

Orpheus sulkily agrees as well. A contract is drawn. It looks less ominous than Ursula's contract with Ariel, being in bullet list form in very readable dyslexic-friendly font.

Hob has to spend an entire year with Dream and be whatever he wishes him to be (like a servant or chauffeur or whatever, which Hob is fine with as long as they shelter him and feed and clothe him well),

Orpheus has to spend an entire year away from Atlantis and vacation in the other Endless siblings' territories ("Because distance makes the heart grow fonder!" Orpheus claims), and

Dream has to spend an entire year with Hob, test his loyalty, intelligence, wine pouring skills(?), etc. (If he's joining the family, Dream needs to know what exactly he's going to be dealing with for eternity.)

...and at the end of the year, if Orpheus still 'loves' Hob, then Dream is going to turn Hob into a merman and he's gonna live the rest of his life as Orpheus's human-turned-merfolk companion.

If Orpheus doesn't 'love' him anymore, then Hob is free to go. He can return to the human world with some compensation in the form of precious jewels, or if he decides he likes it here in Atlantis, then he's free to stay as a companion-free merman.

All three of them sign. Orpheus swims away accompanied by some bodyguards to his uncle-aunt Desire's territory, determined to 'love' Hob until the year is over.

Hob is left behind with Dream, who doesn't really know what to do with him. Should the human be his cupbearer? A guard? Puffer fish juggler during feasts?

"Do you have any skills?"

"I'm good at stealing," Hob answers, because it's true and he's not ashamed of it. They better be prepared to get things stolen from them.

Dream sighs. "Anything else?"

Hob considers the huge merman before him, easily twice the size of his son(?), and decides, you know what? Yeah. Why the fuck not? If he's gonna be stuck in this guy's company for a year, he's going to be such a thorn in his side and make it so awkward that the king would be forced to send him back (with precious jewels) to the 'upper world' before the year is done.

"I'm good at sucking cock," Hob says, because it's also true. "That is, if you folk have similar appendages."

Dream has a lightbulb moment. Hob is easy on the eyes, and with only a thorough scrubbing and some meals, fine clothing for his body, elegant hair accessories, he would look very fine and presentable indeed. And moreover, it would mark him as Dream's personal concubine. In a year, (and even if Orpheus had object permanence), his son wouldn't want him.

It's actually very unlikely that Orpheus would still 'love' him by year's end, anyway, even if Dream doesn't make Hob his concubine. Orpheus is very distractable and is capable of moving on quickly. (Aristaeus the goat, for example, had only been mourned for ten whole minutes.)

Satisfied, Dream smirks at the human before him, tosses his long hair over his shoulder a bit like the slut he is, and says, "Are you offering your services to me, little human?"

And of course it's only now that Hob sees Dream's beautiful face and sexy upper body, which has previously been hidden under his curtain of long dark hair. (In Hob's eyes, he had been dealing with a male Sadako underwater. Please give him a break. It's been a very stressful day.)

Hob realizes that he has severely miscalculated. Because even now, he wants to lick whatever appendage this gorgeous creature has. A year? He's gonna want to be here for eternity because holy shit the king is gorgeous and a total DILF.

They fuck. Because of course they do. Right there on the throne room. Everyone's seaweed salad is ruined.

(But fr, Hob is having the time of his life. Dream and his cock are so huge it brought out Hob's latent size kink tendency, and he can shapeshift as well. Hob gets fucked with dozens of new and exciting appendages. There's like an entire Bad Dragon catalogue down there.)

Dream announces that he'll be working from home for an entire year and assigns Lucienne, Jessamy, and Matthew to oversee things he wouldn't be able to for that duration because he's Busy.

He says this over ye olde Atlantean seashell cellphone as he's fucking Hob into the mattress.

When Dream has to show himself to grant Atlantean citizens their weekly audience, he does so with Hob warming his dick as he sits on the throne.

Thankfully, Atlantean citizens are less prudish than upperworlders, because if they get turned on, they just masturbate right then and there, no problem at all. Really, as long as anyone doesn't touch Dream or Hob, then it's fine.

Hob, prudish upperworlder that he was, discovers that he thrives in this kind of exhibitionist play. He realizes that he loves being on display and seeing Dream's subjects pleasure themselves while looking at them. (Even Corinthian, the head of the royal guards, jerks off just a step down from the throne, eyes on the place where Hob is joined with Dream. Hob doesn't know if Corinthian wants to be Hob, be Dream, or be sandwiched in between the two of them. He doesn't ask because Dream is obviously a jealous bastard.)

And every day that passes, Hob gets increasingly addicted to Dream (not just his cock/s), and Dream is increasingly growing fonder of Hob. They realize that they actually like spending time together, even when they're not physically connected.

Dream laughs (his creepy frightening laugh) over Hob's stupid upperworld jokes, wonders at Hob's unconventional solutions to his citizens' problems, and mourns with him when he finally tells Dream about why he became a thief in the first place.

Meanwhile, Hob listens well to Dream's personal problems and never gives advice unless Dream asks him to, gives Dream new songs to sing and melodies to play, and holds him whenever he dreams of the night Orpheus's mother was taken from them and killed by upperworlders hundreds of years ago.

It's so very clear that they're meant to be together, but they're pretty stupid and don't realize that they have fallen in love with each other.

The Atlantean citizens grow to respect Hob and not just lust after him from afar. He's very kind, and the unconventional upperworlder solutions he proposes when Dream is giving an audience work out surprisingly well. Soon, he's being referred to as Consort Hob, and is given gifts of gratitude. Just small but heartfelt things like fresh produce and homemade jams.

Hob likes being given gifts. A thing that Dream notices early on so of course he immediately sets out to spoil Hob. (Especially when he found out that Hob grew up impoverished.) Does he care that he's one-upping his own citizens with his lavish gifts? No. A subject's gift is different from a lover's, and Hob likes all the gifts anyway. He doesn't even complain when Dream tears off his own gifts from his body only a minute after Hob puts them on.

As the year is slowly coming to an end, they fuck more often, and lowkey desperately.

Hob thinks Orpheus will still want him at the end of the year. Dream thinks Hob will want to go back to the human world and he'll never see him again.

As we have previously established, they're both idiots, so they only confess their true feelings to each other like, on the day before Orpheus is set to return. And then, knowing that their feelings are requited after all, they fuck again, but this time it's the slow and very gentle lovemaking (TM) kind of sex that lasts the entire night full of soft 'I love you's and new sensitive spots to discover and obsess over. It's great. We want what they have but we also love that they have it with each other.

In the morning, Dream is determined to persuade Orpheus to give Hob up (in the unlikely event that Orpheus still wants Hob), and Hob is determined to stay with Dream and willing to help Orpheus find someone else.

All their worrying is for naught because Orpheus returns with Eurydice (a mermaid) in tow, and says that they got married like...11 months ago.

Dream is a little hurt that he wasn't invited to his own son's wedding, but Orpheus tells him he could just marry her again. It's not like they're lacking funds or need to fill up 10,000 government forms.

Hob is just so relieved that he almost kisses Eurydice in gratitude. (He doesn't because Dream is a jealous bastard who will no doubt misunderstand this very upperworld gesture.)

Dream tells Orpheus that he's gonna marry Hob. Orpheus says okay and is very chill about it. Dream tells him that it would mean that Hob is going to be his stepfather. Orpheus needed a moment to process and come to terms with that, but comes out of his shock still supportive.

Eurydice is a very nice merwoman who is also supportive of Dream and Hob's union. They find out that her family's kelp farm benefitted from Hob's advice so now Orpheus is definitely pro-Hob.

And then they get married! Dream with Hob and Orpheus with Eurydice (again). There may or may not be babies that resulted from Dream and Hob's very vigorous union--that depends on the reader's personal preference, but the point is that they all lived happily ever after. ✨️

Who needs to drive a 120k BMW when you can play with a $10M magnet? We are entering a new era, we are in a karmic year ruled by number 8.

Song like “Angel numbers” from Chris Brown with lyrics like « healing energy on me » are popping out to tell us exactly what 2024 will be.

A year filled with people facing themselves and their demons and asking for another’s energy to heal them. People who did the most by taking other’s power and energy to use it for their own will be facing karma. Sometimes karma is only them facing themselves and going on their healing journey. Yet a lot of them won’t do that and will keep on using others energy to go through the year.

It’s a great time for everyone to face themselves and heal. Those who have already done the healing process will have it easier this year.

How to be sure to not stand in the way of other’s karma and not receive the karma meant for them ?

Just take back your power and energy.

Here’s some affirmations to do it.

mmm im confused by what you mean? Erlang did burn down FFM in jttw very close after the fight with Wukong was over, killing half of the mountain's monkey population. yes, we can consider this harsh because it is, but there is the cultural context that at the time this was set, patricide and regicide was two of the highest crime one could commit, and Wukong did try to dethrone the Jade Emperor. thats attempted regicide. if you were convicted of either, youd be executed and as added measure, a lot more people would too!

Erlang burning the mountain but allowing half of the population to survive was a mercy, since technically he could have reasonably razed the whole place to nothing. Wukong even thanks him for his mercy in jttw!

all that said, in this au Wukong and Erlang still are sworn brothers and truth be told, they get along quite alright! im not yet sure if i'll make the Lotus Lantern story fit into it (i think Chenxiang and MK would get along like peas in a pod whdbhwbdj) but we'll see.

Do you think Xiao can exorcise ghosts or spirits?

TLDR: Yes but not in the way you might expect.

In chinese mythology (at least the ones I grew up with*), there's virtually no difference between ghosts and spirits. We view spirits as neither inherently evil nor inherently good. It's what they do that eventually defines their nature (karma).

'Spirits' are an umbrella term for: - Souls of the deceased (which can sometimes be an emotional imprint they leave behind ie: a shade) - A consciousness that is formed into existence who can eventually accumulate enough spiritual energy and ascend into divinity, becoming a deity (or an adeptus in this case) after eons of cultivation - A malevolent energy that preys off the living (a demon)

Case in point: the Heliobi in Star Rail and Adepti + Sovereigns in Genshin

Now let's examine Xiao:

With reference to Indian and Southeast-Asian mythology, Yakshas are often portrayed as malevolent demons OR tutelary deities closely connected to nature and the mountains.

From what we know of in Genshin, the Yakshas are illuminated beasts who fought in the war and succumbed eventually to their own karmic debt, with Xiao being the last of them. We have also learned that the remains of fallen Gods and their 'grudge' cannot be purged completely even after their deaths.

That led me to the conclusion that the karmic debt accumulated by the Yakshas are the residual malevolent energy of those departed. With each god they cut down, the weight of their sins grow heavier and in turn, transforms them into something completely twisted from how they once were.

As a being capable of devouring dreams, Xiao has long since been accumulating sins before he was liberated. To this day, part of the reason as to why he hasn't given in to his karmic debt was fear of what would happen if he did and a conviction/desire to protect regardless of how much it hurts him.

Given these traits in mind, I believe that he can't exorcise spirits the way Chongyun and the other exorcists can via subduing their malevolent energy, though he can seal them away like they do.

What he can do is what he did best.

He eats them.

Specifically their malevolent energy and that becomes his own. It becomes a part of his debt, poisoning him further, thus making him fear losing control even more.

Xiao embodies the Yaksha in every sense of the word. Demon or Conqueror? Both. He's both.

You run into his arms, hugging him. You both topple over with a loud bang. 

“Oh! Sorry!” 

He looks at you and laughs. 

“It’s been awhile. How are things for you and Law?”

“They’ve been fine. He’s been doing some research lately.”

“On what?”

You shrug, “Dunno. Something about like, Devil Fruits having special powers or something.”

You sit on the ground, “He doesn’t really tell me many things. I really wish he’d open up to me more.”

Corazon sits on the ground next to you,

“Speaking of opening up, Corazon, why did you become a Marine?”

“Well,” he pulls out a cigarette,

“A man named Sengoku saved me.”

Your eyes widen,

“You were saved?”

He nods, “Just like you.”

You giggle, “That’s so weird!”

“Ehh?? How is that weird!” He gently pinches your cheek with his thumb and index fingers.

“Okay, sorry! Go on!”

He smiles, “The man’s name was Sengoku. He found me after my brother had killed our father.”

He pulls out a cigarette, “Basically, my childhood was really shitty. My father had decided to abandon the lifestyle he had for us to live a more normal one.”

He lights the cigarette. You move your hands to keep any flames from consuming his feathered coat. 

He continued, “Townsfolk hated us,”

Fwuuuuuuuu “They hated what the people related to my father did to them. All the pain and misery they had to endure, all came back. An unrelenting, furious, and karmic galeforce.”

You frown,

“I’ll spare you the details, but we basically lived in poverty. My mother died and we were nearly hung up and killed.”

“My brother was cold. All he cared about was the power that our father had abandoned.”

He makes a gun with his hand. 

You hold his hand.

He holds it back. You scoot forward and lean against him.

“I’m sorry, Corazon.”

He turns his head away from you, taking another puff of his half-finished cigarette before snuffing it out.

“So, he killed you,”

He nods,

“Do you still love your brother?”

He looks at you,

“I never did,”

“He’s my brother, but he’s still a monster.”

You nuzzled into his coat.

He sighs, “Think of it this way. You loved Doflamingo. You tried to, at least. But, even after everything that he did to you, do you still love him?”

You shake your head.

“Well, love is a choice, Reader-chan. At least for me, it is.”

He places his hand on your head,

“But, I’d choose love anyday over anything else, if that makes sense.”

“My heart can only love so much. His actions were unforgivable. He’s a demon.”

“My convictions held me back. My heart was too soft. Even though I hated him, I’m not a killer, at least I don’t consider myself to be.”

“You’re a good person, Corazon. I think you stayed true to yourself until the very end.”

“I tried to.”

“But, you did!”

“Still, trying to put a stop to my brother’s madness and saving Law came with a heavy price. I had to kill people. I hated it. I didn’t want to do it.”

“Well, to me, I think you inspired someone to carry on your will and become a wonderful person. You stopped another Doflamingo-in-the-making. 

“I’m sure those people would forgive you if they understood your intentions.”

You caress his cheek, “At least I would.”

Corazon looks at you and gives you an uncomfortably painful smile.

“You have too much love in that heart of your’s, Reader-chan”

“Kanna-chan”

His eyes widen, “Huh?”

You smile softly, “Kanna, or Kannazuki. Kannazuki Kaze.”

He points at you, surprised,

“Your name isn’t Reader??”

You shake your head.

“So, Kanna-chan?”

“Hehe, yeah!”

His eyes light up,

“Your name is beautiful, Kanna-chan!”

Your cheeks feel tingly, “Your’s is too, Rosi!”

Corazon falls backwards, blushing, and explodes in flames from the supposedly snuffed cigarette smoldering against his coat.

“C-Cora-saaaan!” 

You sigh.

“...Cora-san? Before we start training, uh, this is a really weird question.” 

“Let’s hear it”. 

“...Do you think you could ever see Law like…I don’t know, with another person? Like, dating…?” 

Corazon smirks at you, and grins almost devilishly.

“SHHHHH!!! STOOOOP!!” 

Corazon chuckles, “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Just let it out. I won’t judge you, I promise”.

Your heart is beating loudly as you lay in the flowers next to Corazon. 

“I just feel so safe around him. I may not like some of the things he does, but I know he’s only doing it because he cares about me.” 

You stare at the large cotton-like clouds in the sky, sitting up from the flowers and stretching your arms.

“I just feel so weak. I don’t feel like I’m good enough for him,” you frown.

“I want to live a quiet life after all of this. But first, I just wanna protect him.”

Corazon grins, sitting up from the flowers. 

“You’re really cute! I’d be surprised if Law didn’t like you. You’d be a great partner for Law!!” 

He rests his cheek on his hand.

“Really?” Your eyes become happy as you turn to face him. 

Corazon nods.

“Sure! If Law’s not happy, he needs someone happy. I mean, he told you about me, right?” 

He points to himself. 

“Yeah! A little,” you nod, giggling. 

“You see how much he loved it when I made him smile, yeah? And now you want to save him?”

“Well! More like, protect him. But, if I needed to, then yeah! I’d protect my captain!” 

He looks at you with enthusiastic eyes. 

“Well, Kanna, that’s why I’m here to help you. As your guardian.” 

He stands up, nearly falling in the process. 

“I shall continue to be your teacher, Donquioxte Rosinante! And you shall be my student, Kanna-chan.” 

He holds out his hand, smiling with his teeth as you laugh and offer your hand.

“Alright! First order of business, There are two main abilities that you can activate,”

“While they may seem simple, you need skill, timing, and good coordination to use them.” 

He stands up walking around in circles while you sit down, legs crossed and you stare at your teacher.

“Got that?” he asks, sternly.

You nod. 

“Good, now, let’s pick up from where we left off: Silent”.

“If you only see Doffy, you’ll only see his strengths and his weaknesses. You won’t be able to adapt on the battlefield. It’s why you probably kept losing to Law.”

Your eyes narrow, “Yeah…”

“It’s also just basic respect, Kanna. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it for you.” 

“If you want to fight admirably, you have to admire your opponents in some regard, as well, by recognizing and pinpointing their strengths and weak points.”

You nod,

“If you don’t get this through your head now, you’ll never learn. Here, I have an idea, look at me,”

You turn from your lap to face Corazon. He grabs your hands and holds them sweetly,

“Don’t just document our encounters in your journal, document the people you meet.”

“Describe their posture, their tendencies, any tells or weak points, any strengths or fighting styles.”

“The more you journal, the more you can find patterns and grow your mind,”

He taps your head, causing you to smile. 

He blushes, happily, 

“I’ll start with my crew, then!”

“That’s a good idea! It’ll help you during any missions with them, knowing how to help them or what to look out for.”

He ruffles your hair,

Do you think anyone in the karmic conviction cast [constance, klaus, etc] knows abt the aai-aai2 cast?

Some of them for sure! Constanze is working at the prosecutor's office, so at the very least she's definitely acquainted with Sebastian and probably Courtney as well. Courtney is probably pretty endeared to her but is very professional and respectful so Constanze would admire her a lot. I doubt she thinks very highly of Sebastian though lmao in my mind adult Sebastian is like, a well respected and perfectly competent prosecutor, but he still comes across pretty dopeyditzy in his daily life, so she's probably very "...can this guy really get the job done?" But if she gets to know him properly, she'd respect him more for being open about how he had to work really hard to be worthy of respect after getting his job through nepotism. Not quite the same as her own sitch, but kinda strikes a chord with her I imagine As for other characters, I feel like both Kay and Ray are the types to hear Edgeworth's niece and nephew are in town and be very nosy about it, so they've probably met lol. I think that Connie would be very awkward around both of them and Klaus would think they're approximately the coolest people ever

what if there was a group thats the opposite of PIE named CAKE. no i have no idea what the acronym would stand for i just think itd be funny... theyre all Regular Guys (since all of PIE are somewhat paranormal themselves) who bust regular old normal crimes.

I read this out to a friend and they helpfully pointed out that this was just cops, but i still want to come up with a acronym title. I think they’d have to be a for-hire investigation team like. Sherlock Holmes in some interpretations. (And Yes, I do think Sherlock Holmes could be a good member of this team for the funny.)

Here’s the viable options I see to having a CAKE acronym (in which CAKE is a normal private-eye company who solves normal crimes)

Well, if their goal is normal crime-busting, then the first two letters better Crime Analysts works really well— so it could be Crime Analysts (k word) Extraordinaire!

Another thing to do would be to use the A as an ‘and’ and say they’re ‘C’ and ‘K’ Extraordinaire!

They don’t even have to be Extraordinaire group, it just emphasizes the connection between em and also makes it easier to figure out an acronym

A final thing of note is that all of PIE are paranormal, when they hunt the paranormal, so it’d make the most sense to me if the guys who hunt normal criminals… largely consisted of ex-or-current-convicts. But they could be anything. Idk rapid fire ideas.

the devil of Hell's Kitchen vs the punisher?

Where to even start with that? At the most base component, there are two men coming at the same systemic problem from opposite sides. She's heard that the Devil will beat a foe ~and how dramatic does that sound?~ to within an inch of his life, only to eventually hand them over to the police. Frank is more to the point, and the rabid animals he puts down have done things that there can be no true recourse for. Her cabal mate has told her that the soul is on a journey, that there is a great Karmic wheel, and that sometimes, the most merciful thing a person can do is end this life so the soul stands a better chance in the future. And in some cases, the end has to be so brutal, so severe, so final that the soul will never choose to do evil again. It sounds like blasphemy to Father Vinnie, but Beth can't find it in her heart to say that she believes it to be entirely untrue. It is her convictions and her use as a Gardener to support Frank, even if he is walking a path too similar to the Thanatoic's.

Maybe the difference is that she doesn't necessarily see his actions as evil but as aggressively proactive medicine. Excising the necrotic tissue so the body can heal. She doesn't have any idea why the Devil does what he does, or ultimately how he makes his peace with his better angels. Until she does, she can't throw her support behind him. And if the contest is more venial? Well, she knows Frank's face. She knows as much of his heart and mind as he deems to share with her. He stirred something inside of her chest that first meeting in the hospital. His biggest concern was for the dog that the Devil left behind. An innocent life that did not deserve the brutality it had experienced. And that's what led her to every shelter she's volunteered at, scouring every one to find his Max. To make sure it was one thing less that Frank needed to worry about. That was enough to show her what kind of man Frank Castle is. She doesn't know what the Devil loves, what he would risk everything for. She doesn't know anything about him beyond his need to get patched up by her and sent back into the night. There's one thing she thinks she knows for sure. "Not fair fight," she says. "Comes down to who is part of my ohana, who I trust. Who I will stand beside til Judgement Day. An' I t'ink we bo'd know da name I'm gonna give ya."
