i can imagine that killing stalking had/has a terrible fandom at some point in time but as someone living 5 years after the manwha ended i luckily can avoid all that and focus on reading a fix-it fic where yoon bum gets a happy ending

Oh my god guys, I just spent three days reading Killing Stalking and, it's SO good!!! Oh MY FUCKING GOD IT'S SO GOOD! I always snobbed it when it came out, I was scared of the psychological thriller aspect of it and I also thought that it would turn into a shitty BL romance completely disregarding the implication of a relationship with a serial killer. INSTEAD what I got was this incredibly written, incredibly designed psychological thriller describing an abusive codependent relationship and I was so enthralled!!! It's been SO LONG since I've read something that made me keep my breath, those last seven chapters were something else oh my god, I felt so bad for Bum, I'm only marginally disappointed in the finale, I wanted it to have a more straightfoward solution, instead it closes abruptly, even if the author left the silence open and OH MY GOD the use of silences in this manga is SUPERBE I'M GOING TO CRY!!! The amount of times I gasped out loud because the pacing was so masterfully crafted and the silence held you by your throat were incredible, it's such an incredible read, really, I recommend it to anyone who wants to read it!!!

Wait a minute.
If visions are basically Celestia keeping an eye on people that might one day ascend to be gods/ become threaths to Celestia.
Then now that the Hydro Archon is no more and Neuvillette is the one giving visions, does that mean he can watch over all hydro users??
Now all I can think of is Neuvillette acting as Furina's guardian angel. Hurt her and a literal dragon descends from the skies to beat you up!
Also Albert is FINALLY getting arrested!!

if I had a nickel for every time in this show a gay crush led to the one with the intense crush to try and hurt/kill the person they have a crush on but actually manage to accidentally kill themselves and go to hell first
I would have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

Rewatched the episode of House MD where Kutner dies and I honestly think instead of killing his character off, they should have said that Kutner got a job as physician to then President Barack Obama and that's why he was leaving. Objectively funnier since his actor did leave the show to work for Obama and I know it would have driven House nuts that Kutner was ditching to go play doctor with the President instead of getting verbally abused for House's amusement.

Will you post chapter 6 part 2 and 3 of the killing stalking book this year?
Tumblr media
Soo.....
spoilers ❕
The reason I haven't written those chapters is because they get really intense. Stop reading here if you don't want spoilers ❕❕❕, but basically in the next two chapters, Sangwoo brutalizes and murders Hana, and after you try to escape him he ties you up with a broken lamp cord and graphically rapes you. I figured people wouldn't like that very much so I was happy with it just living it's twisted little life inside my head. If you'd like to read it tho I might be more inclined to actually write it 💕 so lemme know~! (assuming you actually read this ahhaa)

Killing Stalking and How Media Has Affected The Manhwa (SPOILERS FOR KILLING STALKING!!)
TW: Mentions of r*pe, m*rder, CSA, SA, being m0lested, incest, homophobia, fetishization of gay people, romanticization/glorification of abusive relationships, Stockholm syndrome
If you are going in on this without knowing what Killing Stalking is, then let me explain. Killing Stalking is a psychological horror and thriller manhwa from South Korea written by author Koogi, it ran from March 3rd, 2016 to March 22nd, 2019. The Manhwa is about two men, Yoon Bum, is described as a frail, feminine gay young man with a round or baby face, with dark circles under his eyes, implied to be eyebags, when reading the story, even if it’s simply the first chapter, you will find out that Yoon Bum is the “stalking” in Killing Stalking. Then Oh Sangwoo, is described as a handsome, charismatic, straight young man, he resembles the “killing” in Killing Stalking. The manhwa has been quite popular since it came out, but it became popular on social media, such as TikTok, in 2019-2021. Unfortunately, this manhwa wasn’t getting popular for being a well-written psychological horror but instead was being watered down to a Yaoi. If I were to go over the entire Manhwa, we’d be here all day, so if you do want to look into it, go ahead.
The two main characters of Killing Stalking have mental illness representation, which plays a key part in the series. Yoon Bum struggles with hypersexuality, Stockholm syndrome, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and derealization. Sangwoo is a sociopath/has Anti-Social Personality Disorder (ASPD) and a narcissist.
Tumblr media
Both Yoon Bum and Sangwoo had very traumatic lives as kids, Yoon Bum’s parents died when he was young so his grandma and uncle took care of him. His uncle would beat him with a belt, starve him and even eventually rape him.
Sangwoo’s dad was neglectful, and meanwhile, his mother took care of him, what was seemingly an innocent and wholesome mother-son relationship, would take a dark turn for the worst. His mother killed his dad when Sangwoo was a teenager and helped her hide the body, she ended up gaslighting him into believing that Sangwoo killed his own father, not her. He and his mother got closer, she would call him “babe” which she would call her husband, Sangwoo was obviously uncomfortable with it but never directly told her, yet he did confront her, asking “You’re doing that on purpose, aren’t you?”. His mother tried to kill him just like she did to her husband. He ended up passed out, waking up tied up in a basement. This basement led to his SA by his mother when he woke up. Sangwoo ended up breaking free in which his mother would sob and say she was sorry, it is implied that she killed herself, stabbing a knife into her neck. Sangwoo’s trauma played a huge part not only in the Manhwa but also in the fandom.
Moving onto the romanticization and glorification of the relationship between Sangwoo and Yoon Bum, and how the reasoning behind their relationship is foreshadowed. Sangwoo says in one of the last chapters that he should’ve killed Yoon Bum from the start and he regrets not doing so. The reason Sangwoo kept Yoon Bum alive is for sexual pleasure and the fact that Yoon Bum resembled Sangwoo’s mother, Eunseo. This is foreshadowed multiple times within the series, as shown below.

If you don’t believe it because of the foreshadowing, then maybe the final Q&A of Killing Stalking will give you an answer, screenshots shown below.

Honestly, I feel like someone will tell me that no one has ever shipped Yoon Bum and Sangwoo, nor has anyone liked Sangwoo or labeled the Manhwa as a Yaoi/Bl, but I do in fact have evidence:
Tumblr media
Killing Stalking, in my opinion, is genuinely well-written for a psychological horror. I hate to see it be watered down to a Yaoi, even when the author said it wasn’t. Not to mention that Killing Stalking claims to have a live adaptation someday. To be honest, as a “fan” of Killing Stalking, I really don’t want it to have a drama made about it. It will just make the fandom rise again and I personally feel that any time a K-drama, anime, Donghua, etc. gets popular, especially among Western countries like America, it gets overly popular in a bad way. Take Squid Games, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, and many more shows as examples of that. Not to mention that in Korea it is extremely hard to get lgbtq+ characters on-screen let alone get r*ped, have intercourse, or touch each other in any sexual or romantic way.
I’d also like to make it clear that I am NOT upset that it’s a gay ship, I am upset that it is an abusive/toxic relationship. Popular ships in shows (specifically in Asian media) are a topic for another time, thank you if you read this far throughout my yapping. Have a good day, and do not live in delusion like Yoon Bum and Sangwoo shippers lol

+ Killing Stalking the Manhwa itself, you can read on Lezhin Comics or Mangago

I remember reading Killing Stalking because the plot interested me but what sold it to me was one scene.
It's when the MC still has to sit on this makeshift wheelchair and he is alone in the kitchen. He could probably flee. But there is two centimeters step between the kitchen and the floor. In a normal situation it's nothing. But here it becomes a wall because it would be a noise.
The tension is absolutly incredible and you can feel the stress and the panic of the MC who absolutly doesn't know what to do and is stuck and finally does nothing.
All of this only because there is a two centimeters step.
Btw, I liked very much the ending. Either they had to live together in a very fucked up dynamic or they had to die both imo. So how it ended was very okay. It was never a story about healing or something.

April Reads
9 books this month!
The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien (★ ★ ★ ★/5): I’ve finally read the og fantasy book and honestly it was so nice to go back to the basics before “romantasy” became a thing. An adventure for an adventure's sake !
The War of Two Queens by Jennifer Armentrout (★ ★ ★/5): this book should’ve been book 2 and we could’ve skipped those other ones. There’s a lot of unnecessary back and forth in this book and once again I stress the importance of editors. The anticipated threesome was okay, could’ve been better tbh. Honestly, I will not be finishing this series- especially after learning that book 5 is literally just a retelling of book 1 in Casteel’s POV. Respectfully I don’t care enough to continue
Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade (★ ★ ★/5): this book, much like the storyline consists of, reads like fanfiction. I was genuinely taken aback by the Ao3-formatted chapters within this book, like I did not think that was necessary but okay. Not awful, but be prepared for cringy adults (almost 40 yrs old btw) that have little to no communication skills
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco (★ ★ ★/5): I'm a little late to the hype of this book but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I loved Audrey Rose and Thomas' interactions and all props to them both for being interested in mortuary science... couldn't be me
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco (★ ★ ★ ★/5): this was a good mysterious follow up to the first book, although I think it's funny that they went through all of that to not get admitted into the forensics school (also these poor children have soo much trauma now)
Recoding America by Jennifer Pahlka (★ ★ ★/5): a good insight into how efforts to make the government smaller have actually made possible technological advancements nearly impossible (at least on government websites). The policy loopholes (more like tangles) are astounding and frustrating and the government is a mess
Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel (★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5): I'm only a little familiar with the original Hindu myth of Ramayana but I feel like this take was so good! I really enjoyed Kaikeyi's story and learning abt her motivations for what she did, mythology (and history) is never kind to female voices, and I think their stories need to be told too
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson (★ ★ ★ ★/5): what a fun little mystery novel! The humor of the narrator made this quite enjoyable and quick to read, although I'm a little disappointed this wasn't a story about a family of serial killers
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune (★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5): this was such a wholesome story about life after death and seeing the best in humanity. This also taught me that life is too short to not be lived. Go out into the world and live and love and learn and do all the things you want to do without waiting for the "right" moment !

i could have accepted the forgiveness theme if that text message had said “hey dad. haven’t spoken in a while. i hope you’re okay, but i don’t want you in my life anymore.” then hit the block button.
like. i still adamantly maintain that forgiveness is not necessary to let abusers go. you can absolutely say “i do not forgive you and i never will and i am not allowing you any energy or space in my life.” i’ve done it. and it was easier to do after i stopped struggling to forgive the way everyone insists is necessary. but i could have accepted it as a distasteful television shorthand for that. but no.
it is genuinely the most jarring part of the episode for me. but i’ma handwave it because i loved 98% of it. i don’t forgive it, but i’ma let it go. see how easy that is, jason sudeikis?
