The large wealthy Kincaide family was led by strong, money-centric, manipulative parents that felt better than everyone else and were also more interested in themselves, growing their empire, and achieving their aims at the expense of others. They drew their children into their devious plots making them complicit in more than they might have wished to be. Book one was Brooks story and he found love with Addie. This is Ridge’s book and how he finds something he values more than running the Kincaide empire…maybe.

Ridge has played by the rules his parents set up all his life. He’s put his wishes and wants and options behind those of the family business. He has done things without question…till he does begin to question them. Money, family, legacy, pride, and getting what he wants has trumped all. Marry someone he doesn’t love? Why not. Step on people? Sure. Throw money at problems? Definitely.

And then…a HITCH IN HIS PLAN occurs and has him reassessing everything. He has a lot to learn, some soul-searching to do, at least one good friend in Mack to give him advice, and values to prioritize before the end of this story.

Lacy is NOT the one his mother wants for him but she is the one his mind, body, and soul seem to yearn for but how can he make her realize that he would make a good partner and father for her and their child? Addie has had a rough life supported by and supporting her brother through their difficult childhood and is using the strength gained from surviving to create the life she wants for her and her unborn baby. Will it include Ridge or not and if so, how will he prove to her that they should be together?

Did I like this book? Yes

Would I read more in this series? Yes – looking forward to Laken’s story next and hope she ends up with Mack…also hope that Travis, Lacy’s brother, will find his happily ever after in this series.

Canyon Springs Ranch #1

 What could go wrong when two people agree to marry only as a business arrangement that will allow both to get what they want? Of course they will stay apart, not fall in love, and have no trouble the time together while achieving their dreams…ha..ha..HA <knowing grin>

 What I liked: * The cowboy ranch setting, and family centered main characters

* Brooks: oldest son, capable, strong, dedicated, family oriented, always has to prove himself, difficult parents, competitive brother, thrown for a loop by his father’s will

* Addie: only daughter, abandoned by her mother, recently took over responsibility for family ranch, loves her father, wants to succeed and bring more money to the ranch

* That both lead characters have dreams for the future

* Addie’s father and cousin

* The setup for the Kincaide siblings (all nine of them) to star in a book of their own within this series

* Being able to detest Brooks’s parents

* The twist toward the end that was a big surprise to one of the characters

* That it was an easy somewhat predictable feel-good romance and way to spend the day

* The setup for book two – will Ridge end up with a witch like his mother or perhaps with a better option?

 What I didn’t like:

* Who and what I was meant not to like

* Thinking about parents pitting children against one another and how dysfunctional some families can be

 Did I enjoy this book? Yes

Would I read more in this series? Yes

yourusername i truly can’t believe this is happening, holy shit. i’ve been interested in having an art career since i was a kid and it’s such a dream to have a piece of artwork up at the museum and i just wanted to thank everyone who supported me through my ups and downs of this art evolution. most importantly, i want to thank my family, and my boyfriend, joseph, who always tells me advice that gives me the motivation to continue what i love. i love you guys, and i can’t wait what’s next.

"Quinn Soulthorn, a dryad of one of those spooky death trees that seem to be everywhere. He grew up in Avalon’s Wyrd over the corpse of one an unlucky member of the wild hunt, the spine of which makes up his harp, along with his own wood. He’s delighted to be allowed into Ravenwood and learn about the world outside of the Wyrd, even if he’s still really learning how people work. He’s not beating the unseelie allegations.

People tend to find him off putting. He’s far too eager to tell people about the beauty and inevitability of death, and he brings a kind of “stop raising so much undead you’re disturbing the role decomposition plays in the perpetual cycle of existence” vibe the other necromancers don’t like.
