Woke up this morning thinking about Macau and Chay and their reluctant proximity in the Main House after canon happens. No one knows why Chay’s dropped out of school but Macau finds out. He finds out and he feels just a bit jealous because everyone around him has someone, and he feels just a bit sad because Chay did have someone and now Kim’s gone.

He does his best to help Chay move on. They develop hobbies together. Movies. Gaming. Chay even starts writing music again. He admits to Macau that he used to write little notes on cute stationary paper for Kim and now doesn’t know what to do with the other 100 sheets. So Macau teaches him how to fold the notes into little shapes so he can write and put them away, like Pete taught him. (Something something, Pete is a father and brother and mentor figure, Pete is just perfect)

Somewhere along the line, Macau sees how Kim is pining just as badly for Chay. He convinces Chay to hear Kim out. It’s not easy for anyone; Chay is confused, Kim is broken, and Macau is watching his friend leave him behind. But Macau, who’s always been a smidge selfish, finds himself okay with that. It’s okay to be left behind because Chay and Kim can be happy. He just hopes it’ll be him one day.

He and Chay spend another day folding notes. Chay folds a really simple flower and says he’s going to be honest today, with everyone: Kim, Porsche, etc. Macau watches him write I love you into another purple note before folding it into another flower. He should feel sad. He’s not.

Days later, Macau is only beginning to make his peace with Chay going back to Kim. But it’s okay because Chay still hangs out with him. Kim does too. It’s like they’re inseparable, and Macau feels safe. He wonders if Kim’s just putting up with him but Kim has a way of making Macau feel like he’s not alone, not the forgotten son of this family. He and Kim go out for smoothies and judge the Thai Top 10 weekly singles. Kim picks him up from school and even pays a visit to Vegas when Macau wants to switch faculties. Whatever their new bond is, Macau is grateful because he doesn’t quite know what love is, but this is very close to that. At least he has his friend and his family.

Macau thinks he’s fine until Chay shows up at his dorm room, the folded purple flower from weeks ago, in his hand, telling him that he needs to be honest with Macau too. Macau breaks down, sobbing. It isn’t right, it’s not supposed to be him. And he’s so scared. He’s so scared that Kim’s gonna be mad. That if Chay stays a minute longer, he’s going to lose his best friend and his cousin all at once. He cries so hard that he wants to throw up, but it’s Chay soothing him. It’s Chay, and then it’s Kim, and it’s them, and Macau doesn’t know how it’s supposed to be but for the first time in his life, he knows it’ll work out just fine.

“You really love me, huh,” Macau interrupts, and that is. What? “You’re literally obsessed with me, oh my god.”

Chay has to be dreaming. 

Macau’s chest is happily vibrating with laughter as he starts rocking side to side with Chay’s taller, dead-weight body crushed into him, and Chay has to be dreaming.

“Yeah, you love me a lot,” Macau murmurs, somehow squeezing Chay even tighter. “Fuck, I love you too. I love you so much, P’Chay.”

He wants to be wanted. And he wants you. Us.

Fucking Kim. He’s always right.

“And you’ve loved me for that long, too…”

Oh, god. Chay can’t breathe.

Like, literally can’t breathe.

He slaps Macau gently on the back and wheezes out as much with the little air he can pull in, but Macau just nuzzles his cheek and loosens his hold just enough that Chay can gasp for breath.

And desperately try to grasp for something to justify the fact that he’s been holding in all this anguish for ages for… for no actual reason. 

Because Macau is happy.

“That’s not the worst of it!” Chay says, because he’s a stupid idiot of a fool with a dumb point to prove.

“Then tell me,” Macau says, and proceeds to sniff Chay’s cheek again.

“I– I, um, I…” oh, god, Chay is about to go there. “I’m so possessive and jealous that I have a whole plan for how to keep you like… literally, like…”

“Hmm?”

Chay finally gets control of his body enough to try and shrug Macau away.

But Macau doesn’t budge a single freaking centimeter, and on a regular day Chay appreciates the attention Macau pays to his physical fitness, but right now it’s just frustrating as hell because Chay can’t shake him off at all.

Well fine then. Fine! If Macau wants to know so bad, fine!

“Fine! Okay, Macau, you freaking win! So are you ready, are you sure you wanna know?! Cause you better be sure!”

Macau’s hand comes up to gently pet the back of Chay’s head, and the touch has Chay settling into the only space that will let him say this.

His body steadies, relaxes, and his hands stroke up Macau’s back, fingertips pressing into his spine.

“You’re mine, Macau,” Chay says, and Macau’s breath hitches as he stills. “And when I say that you’re mine, I mean that you belong to me. Only to me. And belonging to me means that everything you are? You give over to me.” Macau’s breathing has stopped almost entirely, but he’s still listening, still present, even as his grip on Chay loosens just a little. “Because you’re mine, I want to keep you close and safe; the only other person you should ever even see is P’Kim. No one gets to see you, touch you, and I’ll make sure of that. You won’t have a choice, because I own you. All of your choices are mine.”

Macau is trembling, and Chay smoothes his palms over the contours of his back to soothe him, and wishes he could be a better person.

“And I’m not saying any of that lightly,” Chay continues, because if Macau wants to know? Then he needs to know it all. “I have it all mapped out, how to take you and keep you, keep you comfortable and happy in a collar around your throat, chained up so you can’t leave us, leave me, ever, because you belong–”

“P’Chay…” Macau whimpers, but he’s pulling Chay in, fingers tightly gripping his hair as he buries his face into Chay’s neck.

He’s crying.

“I told you–” Chay whispers, choked, hands slipping from Macau’s body as cracks form between the pores of his skin, all of him shattering.

Macau lets out a strangled sound, squeezing Chay against him yet again, and oh.

Oh.

Oh, fuck.

Fuck, because Macau’s dick is hard against Chay’s hip, and Chay is so disoriented by that fact that all he can do is stand frozen like a useless moron.

Kim/Chay/Macau

Oh I see you anon. Ok. I’m gonna be completely honest with ya: As much as it might make some people uncomfortable (that’s valid and I don’t have any hard feelings towards you or anything if it does. No judgement here.) and may make some people think differently of me: I don’t mind it and actually have read several fics with it that I enjoyed.

Now, is it my go to cup of tea? No, I wouldn’t say it is. But I’m also not against having a cup every Blue Moon or when the thirst strikes me. I firmly believe and support people writing and/or enjoying whatever ships that float their boat. Like I said, I don’t judge.

But if you want to know why I do/have read that, and why I’m not completely against it, it’s because I can see it happening, see it working, and when it’s been presented to me in the ways I’ve seen, I like it. It’s the three youngest in the family, who are kind of the misfits and forgotten bunch, that find comfort, happiness, love, and companionship in each other. And I see nothing wrong with that.

I see Macau finding friendship in Chay absolutely possible after the events that happen in the show, and I can see that maybe developing into something more for him. I’m not 100% on how it would go down for Chay and Kim, but I know there’s some person out there somewhere that’s probably got that figured out, and in a way that clicks in my brain.

So to sum it up: I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it to bits. I’ve read some, but not enough to go past the number of fingers on one hand. Would I turn my nose up at it? No, but it’s not my first pick on the table.

Thank you for your patience. Bit behind on answering comments, but I'll definitely get to them this week.

To be transparent, I am pretty sure Chapter 16 will be the "end" of the story and Chapter 17 will be the smut that I spent the last 16 chapters leading up to. So, yeah. Hope to have it all done by the end of the month.
