Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people say that The Song of Achilles ruined the way people perceive Achilles and Patroclus because like most of the time when people are making statements about The Song Of Achilles they don't mean it about every interpretation of Patroclus and Achilles to me that feels like comparing Hazbin Hotel to The Bible sure Hazbin Hotel uses the idea of Christianity but I'm sure it's clear to everybody that if they want to actually read the Bible they could like if you want to read The Iliad then read The Iliad this is just a personal opinion but also people saying that Madeline Miller is misogynistic for writing from the perspective of a man in a time where woman were expected to just handle things really miss the point to me it's good writing if you feel like you're reading from the perspective of a man because you are reading from the perspective of a man growing up in a time where women being assaulted is normal "the woman were all props" yeah that's the point that's how women were seen honestly it would have been worse if she didn't show the brutality of a man's thinking back then so many people act like this is a book being told from a completely objective standpoint and Miller is just sitting here telling us her world views when she's writing as a character

Potential unpopular take but…

I don’t like it when people give others shit for like the Slendermansion stuff or making the Creepypastas and slendermythos act like a family.

Is it realistic? No. Can it be a little out of character for the creeps? Yeah. Is it hurting anyone other than maybe being mildly annoying? No.

It’s not a bad thing to want to pretend that these fake serial killers and monsters and whatnot are living together and having the best found family moments when they aren’t out killing people. Some of us needed to believe in that when we were younger, and some people need that now.

Besides, everyone is deserving of normalcy, God knows Tim/Masky craves it, so why not write them not being murderers and suffering through life

When I was little, like nine or something, I wasn’t in an abusive household but I was being bullied at school, and when I cried myself to sleep, I cried hoping that Slenderman or Toby or someone would come take me away to the Slendermansion and I’d be away from it all.

Should little kids be reading Creepypasta stuff? No, but we did and they’re able to find it. So why not let it be something that makes them feel safe, even for a moment, even though it isn’t real.

Who cares if it’s “not what they’d do”? It’s what I, and a lot of other people, needed them to do. So who cares

I'm still really struggling with the kind of storyline I want my sona to have. I keep getting caught up in a concern of mine, which is him becoming rly self fulfillment-y

despite how much I love when other's ocs are shamelessly self fulfillment-y

it's still a fear I have ;-; I'm still trying to adapt the "I'm cringe but I'm free" mindset but man it's hard

I've considered having my sona be the only character in the story and removing all the friends in his friend group, bc they're the main thing contributing to that concern, but at this point I can't. can't have any of them without the rest of them.

and also I just don't really know what kind of plotline I want for these folks in general.

Okay am I polyamorous or is it other alters in the system because I do NOT think I'd be able to share someone unless it's a partner system and they're just dating someone else insys because when I get obsessed I get possessive, clingy and jealous easily my god.

So I rewatched the entire series last night and I wanted to say that another reason the Topmew x Boeing situation in episode ten feels so silly, is because it didn’t make any sense for them. Boeing was definitely brought in as an external force to test the bounds of each relationship (they didn’t do this justice but that’s a topic for another time), however Topmew’s entire separation was caused by external interference. Their entire relationship they had people whispering in their ears about each other, which ultimately lead to their spilt.

When they separated, this was the perfect time for them to show them growing and dealing with their own internal struggles. Now we got that from both (even though we didn’t get to see Top’s) but I wish we spent more time with them alone and not with Top chasing Mew. I don’t mind what they did but it would’ve been better if they had shown us Top working it out and grieving, instead of constantly showing him being shitted on.

The reason I wanted so badly for Boeing to be Top’s friend, is because it would’ve highlighted even more growth from Top. It would’ve shown us that he has been confiding in a close friend and that he hasn’t just been spending time planning ways to get Mew back. Boeing also would’ve made a for a good device to explore their internal struggles in the relationship, and while he did do that, we ended up reverting back to old ways. This was an opportunity for Mew to bring up his insecurities and Top to reassure him, as well as have Boeing there to act as an objective voice. Unfortunately we got some weird recycled revenge plot instead.

Boeing works as a good external force but only towards couples who haven’t had their relationship tested externally; that’s not Topmew. Boeing will work to test Sandray because their relationship struggles have mostly been internal. Hell, I don’t even think he’ll work by way of testing Nickboston because there’s really nothing to test? So he’s kinda just hanging around everyone with no true motivation at this point.

Anyway, Boeing would’ve worked well if they didn’t use him to bring Topmew back to square one while simultaneously having him play the grim reaper knocking at everyone’s door.

Could Katniss's fathers death been on purpose?

So I recently got into the hunger games, I've read THG and Catching Fire, and I recently started Mockingjay. I've seen a lot about 'The Ballad of Songbirds' and 'Snakes' and Sunrise on the Reaping', tho I haven't actually gotten to read them myself yet. So, in case im wrong on somethings I apologize!

!!Spoilers Ahead!!

So I have a theory about Katniss's fathers death. As we know Katniss mentions going swimming in the lake with her father before he died, the same lake that snow threw his gun into during TBOSAS. It is stated that Snow knows when someone is in the meadow. I can only assume he also knows when someones at the lake, at the very least he knows during 'Catching Fire' because of Katniss's tracker. Now giving snow is pretty smart; so I believe he would have cameras set up where he hid a murder weapon. We know due to SOTR Haymitch was ion the meadow before the reaping, as well as Katniss. (there are theories about the meadow that I've seen) Both Haymitch and Katniss have been to the lake, and both were taken there by good ol Mr. Everdeen. Haymitch was reaped illegally, him being at the lake and meadow could've contributed to that (obviously there are other reasons but stay with me here).

But how does this connect back to Katniss's dad, you ask? Well as far as we know Katniss's father was one of the few people (to my knowledge) to go to that lake frequently and took his daughter too. Snow easily could've set up that explosion killing Katniss's father. Lastly, you may be wondering but why would snow do that? First if the weapon is found, he could lose his status and the caption trust. By the time the 74th games roll around it may not have mattered as much, but it definitely would've been a pretty big deal during the 50th. Especially since someone like Mags won the games a year after Lucy. She was around when the whole show went down, she watched those games! Also Sejanus Plinth death was pretty well known; at the very least because of Lucy's song. Mags is definitely smart enough to have put two and two together, if she had the resources or if Sejanus's death was well known.

Also, the man has had beef with like THREE DIFFERENT TEENAGERS because they remind him of his ex-situationship. I know this isn't the most valid reason, but I still wanted to mention this.

Sorry if this is kinda all of the place, this theory been buzzing around my head for the past couple days and I wanted to get this down!

Started dead boy detectives (checking ratings for my sibling to watch) and I’m so unreasonably upset that we’ve got part of Edwin’s backstory half way through the first episode.

I miss long seasons guys. I miss my Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Bones, ER whatever style seasons with like case by case episodes. Bring it back god please I want suspense.

Scratch that Charles’ backstory just got touched on guys give me time to like people before you hit me with their tragedies. it’s been like 30 mins.

Evan Buckley took four seasons to touch on his parental issues. Dead Boy Detectives could have at least waited like two or three episodes????
