I haven't worn makeup in months after discovering radical feminism and getting into this community.
My workplace is specifically only women, which made me think they would be more accepting. While at work around two coworkers I mentioned how I haven't worn makeup in a long time and went into detail about how I feel a lot better, I have a lot less acne, I have dermatillomania and the urge to pick my face is less strong, (not my fingers tho, still working on that) and feeling less pressure about my appearance.
They both didn't seem too happy to hear this. One of them said she thought I was becoming depressed since I wasn't wearing makeup and "cute outfits". I explained that no the makeup made me depressed and feel more pressured to look different and she went on about how I seemed to be putting down women who do wear makeup. From there it turned into a huge argument.
She refused to listen to any points I made at all, overall just frustrating and I felt like there was no point even mentioning any of this irl. There seems to be no desire to even try to look at things from another angle, just immediately get defensive and deny everything.

i feel like some ppl in the tf2 community kinda missed the point of savetf2, saying "it failed" when it really didnt.
savetf2 was never us trying to force valve into doing something about the bots, it was about everyone showing their love for tf2 and how much they want the game to be saved. getting valve to actually do something was just a bonus.
if valve doesnt want to fix tf2 themselves then thats fine by me. there are lots of video games out there that just stop getting updates and support at some point because the devs wanna move onto something else and thats fine.

I don't plan on talking about Hazbin Hotel much because I am not happy with it, and that is why I want to talk about what disappoints me the most: Alastor.
TW: mentions of cannibal
There were a couple of comics released a long while ago showing how Angel came to the Hotel, and a special comic with Alastor that I rather enjoyed where he goes to the meat market where a hellborn is being threatened by the butcher.
Alastor of course kills and eats the butcher.
Basically the comics set him up as Hannibal Lector type moral code. If you aren't rude or unnecessarily cruel, he'll leave you alone. However if you are he would be thrilled to kill you in the most horrid way he can think of and then eat your corpse.
And then the show turns him into some edge lord with a connection to Lilith and half ass tries to make him seem like he cares about the hotel when he has alternative motives and he is just an edgelord. It sucks.
Because think of what could have been done in the show, and I think we kinda get SOME of what we could have from the cannibal village but think of what else could have been done:
For one thing, I think the Lilith connection could have been cut. He is there for his own entertainment, but he does like Charlie's spirit. I think it could be much more interesting if he genuinely isn't there to be evil. Course he still does fucked up shit and sometimes counter intuitive shit on the regular(just an example, Angel Dust could say something wrong enough he is about to cause a murder and has to be held back).
But he does actually help.
Like, instead of having to be coaxed into making a TV ad, just, have him doing radio ads?
Also him actually like the Egg Bois I think would be fun. They are stupid and kind of useless but they are sweet and he finds himself fond of them. Also could give him more of a relationship with Penticous.
"You know, I have to give you credit, my boy, these little guys are extremely entertaining!"
Also if he was actually, in some way trying actively to help, I think it could lead much more into Dadstor. I want that to make sense, you know? I want it too but it doesn't and I think having him be more Gentleman who expect good manners, and can cause harm should you not.
And if they had gone more with the ideas of redemption and the actual truth of that, have a bad client thrown in that Charlie is really trying to help but they just keep snapping straws, and well Charlie can hold everyone else back well: Alastor is not all to pleased by someone wasting time.

I'm enjoying how ambiguous file 1122 is about the saguru-conan-shinichi thing, bc honestly, it makes no sense for saguru to try to get to the truth of if Conan is shinichi or not. They're not a criminal, from where he stands, there's not rly any reason to go "why are you doing this!" (Gotta drop his signature line somewhere 🤣) but with the way my friend says it. And comparing the things he did in this upcoming file 1122 to what he did in koshien. I'm convinced he's had a *hunch* about the conan-shinichi thing since way back then. He just didn't have any proof or evidence, nor any reason to go and dig deeper (unlike heiji who had genuine interest in shinichi so ofc he butts in, bless u heiji, what would shinichi do without u). But if u compare his behavior in this upcoming file 1122 and the koshien thing, with how he behaves around kaito while they're at SCHOOL. Well... Well I think u'll see why im in the camp of "he totally knows, or has a very specific hunch"

i was on the train of "Celebrities posting their thoughts on Palestine isn't going to do anything" but these days it's getting harder to maintain that mindset. and i'm kind of upset with myself for thinking that way in the first place. Ariana Grande posting ONE link to her insta story and getting so much money raised..... imagine how helpful it could be if Taylor were to say something. she can't single handedly stop the genocide, but she could raise awareness. she could add to the pressure. she has such a huge voice and everything she says gets slapped onto every news site. i love her, i love her music, i love her storytelling. i have for over 10 years!!!! but my god, it just feels cowardly !!!! i don't believe that she is against Palestine, or stands with Israel, but I do think she is extremely ignorant. or that's what it looks like to me. how hard could she fall if she were to actually speak up and say something???? she has sooo much money, so much support, so much security, she has SO MUCH to protect herself from any scrutiny that she may get if she were to speak out. why stay quiet??? i just don't get it. it breaks my heart. innocent Palestinians have lost almost everything. what does Taylor have to lose? anything she does or says will not change the status she has, she has it. she'll always have it.

Sometimes I appreciate the versatility of words in English. "Frustration" is a word that covers a lot of feelings, from mild annoyance to complete powerlessness and hopeless rage, for example. It's stronger as a word if we save the more severe meanings for more severe circumstances.
But sometimes, it's really cathartic to be absurd and dramatic or to sit in your feelings and admit that whether or not the situation is actually severe in reality your feelings are so big that they demand severity.
So, sometimes, you know your feelings about a trivial thing like -- as a silly hypothetical -- being in a specific fandom and being from a specific meme/art era and finding that the specific thing you would really like to exist does not exist and you don't possess the skills to make it exist, for instance, are pretty definitely on the mild annoyance side of the frustration scale. But "frustration" is a versatile word and people are inherently inconsistent (to varying degrees, even) as a side-effect of our personhood, so you go ahead and privately think about it like the greatest injustice in your head and let yourself feel like you're frustrated in the powerless way.
Then, partially pacified by catharsis, you tone the word down and reassess your situation having let your emotions do their thing for a little bit.
I'm not always a fan of ambiguity, but versatility sure is nice. Language is neat.
