Neteyam has always shown so much interest in you, and made his courting so obvious, but why do people still not get the damn hint?
Currently you are walking on a huge tree branch, high above the ground, with Lo’ak, Kiri and Spider. Neteyam isn’t here, much to your dismay, because he has “ Future Olo’eyktan duties” as Lo’ak likes to call it.
“it’s almost eclipse, let’s start heading back” Kiri mentions and for once, Lo’ak and Spider agree and make their way home without causing too much of a fuss
“woah guys, you barely even whined about having to go back home so early today, whatsup?” you question laced with sarcasm as you hear Kiri chuckle and nod in agreement with you.
“we don’t want to keep you away from your boyfriend for too long y/n, we all know how cranky my brother gets without you” Lo’ak adds and Spider cackles, thinking this is so super funny.
You shove Lo’ak and tell him to shut up, and that Neteyam’s not your boyfriend, and he doesn’t get cranky.
Your relationship with Neteyam was quite.. obvious , yet complicated. Both confused teenagers in love yet don’t know how to confess it, nothing was official, but everyone knew you were off limits, you were Neteyam’s girl.
you are clutching your stomach in pain from laughing too hard when you enter the Sully’s cave, wiping a tear from your cheek wondering how on pandora could someone be so stupid as lo’ak and spider.
You hear the laughter die down and your eyes set on a pair sitting together in the gathering room of the cave, Neteyam and Rini.
You eye both of them in confusion, so does Lo’ak, Kiri, and even Spider. You feel butterflies fluttering in your stomach but not in the good way, you don’t like how close Rini is to Neteyam.
“Guys, Rini caught me on the way back to our cave and said she wanted to hang out with everyone, hope no one minds?”
The four of you shake your heads and make your way to the pair to sit down with them. It was odd, Rini wasn’t good friends with any of you, maybe Neteyam? No, you would know. Why does she suddenly wanna hang out with us? Neteyam is often times too nice to say no, maybe he couldn’t deny her? You wonder if the others question the same, and maybe they do, judging by the looks on their faces.
“y/n” you hear your name in neteyam’s voice, he pats the spot next to him, the opposite side of where Rini is sitting, you don’t want to sit next to him, to be petty, but you oblige anyways, oblivious to the female na’vi glaring daggers at you, Neteyam gives you a bright smile, now that you got his attention, you’ll have it the rest of the night.
Neteyam embraces you in a warm hug, his hands sneaking around your waist as he whispers into your ear “missed you, you look good”
you smile shyly and open your mouth to thank him, but someone else beats you to it
“Neteyam! This cut on your arm looks terrible!! Are you okay? How’d you get it?!”
God. Her voice is annoying, why is she yelling? Neteyam is literally next to her?
You eye Kiri and she rolls her eyes at Rini, you stifle a laugh and Neteyam notices, smiling sweetly at your antics, momentarily forgetting Rini was even there, until he is bought back to his senses.
“Oh this? It’s nothing just a scratch”
“Do you want me to patch it up for you?”
Your eye twitches, you try to have a normal conversation with the other three, trying your best to ignore the two sitting right next to you, but Rini makes it unbelievably hard with her screeching voice.
“No I’m g-“
“I insist” Rini touches Neteyams shoulder and gives it a squeeze, you look at Neteyam and he knows it, you’re pissed. You stay quiet and enjoy the show infront of you.
“I’ll have y/n help me later Rini, it’s alright.”
“Oh- Oh yeah okay” she deflates, but you have a feeling deep down, this girl isn’t giving up so easily. You wonder who put her up to this. Her mother? Grandmother? Friends? Toruk Makto’s eldest son’s mate does have a nice ring to it, despite the length, but that title’s yours, she knows it.
You all are laughing at Lo’ak and Kiri arguing about who Spider likes better when Neteyam rests his head on your shoulder. You feel your stomach explode with butterflies again, the good kind.
“Tired?”
“mhm” Neteyam mumbles, you reach your hand up to the braid dangling infront of his face and move it behind his ear. Your romantic little moment is interrupted yet again by the same culprit from last time.
“Neteyammm, it’s so dark! Will you walk me to my cave?” Rini latches onto Neteyam’s arm and gives him a little tug thats powerful enough to have him pulling away from you and get him to stand up.
“Uh-“ Neteyam looks at you for approval, you’re not looking at him, instead opting the floor was a better option. Neteyam is no fool, he knows why you’re upset, he gets it too, if some random man was leeching onto you like Rini is, he’d be upset, hell, he’d be crazy. He doesn’t like that expression on your face, he doesn’t like when you’re sad, because of him too.
Neteyam look’s over to Lo’ak and Lo’ak immediately gets on it. “Bro don’t worry about it, Kiri, Spider and I will walk Rini to her cave, we know you’re tired and wanna be with your girlfriend”. Lo’ak smiles and winks at his older brother.
This throws Rini offguard.
“Thank you guys. Rini, see you around”.
“Awh Neteyam it’s a shame you couldn’t accompany me, y/n keeps snatching you away from me and if i’m correct.. she isn’t even your girlfriend.. you should spend more time with me and my friends!” Rini smiles slyly, her tone innocent but her intentions show clearly. Rini hugs Neteyam and whispers something in his ear, which you’re sure she said loud enough for you to hear on purpose.
“If you ever do need a mate that will actually commit, you know your options” she winks and pulls away from his embrace as the group starts to walk outside, irritated.
You stand up abruptly and walk past Neteyam who stood there dumbfounded.
“Y/n” He grabs your wrist to stop you from walking any further.
“Let go Neteyam, I wanna go home” You hate how wobbly your voice sounds when you speak right now.
“y/n, are you crying?” He sounds so worried it makes you even sadder
“i’m sorry baby, im sorry, i didn’t know she was gonna act like that” he pulls your head into his shoulder and strokes your back comfortingly.
“don’t call me that.. im not your girlfriend, and i don’t care how she acts” you say, though your tone and quivering lip betray your words
“y/n..” he pulls you away and cups your face with his gentle hands, afraid he would break you if he was any less gentle “cmon look at me” you meet his gaze and his eyebrows furrow at the sight of your slightly red but watery eyes
“you know you’re the only girl i ever want right? you’re so special to me y/n..why don’t you see that, i want you to be mine so bad, every morning i wake up and pray to Eywa to finally have let you see how desperate i am for you. why must you let someone like rini ruin your day?”
you sniffle, and Neteyam thinks its so cute he could kiss you right now, but he holds back.
“but i am yours nete” you say, unintentional doe eyes looking up at Neteyam that make him melt, he can’t hold himself back anymore .
Neteyam leans towards your face, held by his hands, and he stops right infront of your lips, asking for permission, waiting for disapproval “kiss me y/n” it sounds like a plead, like he’s almost begging, so you do.
you feel your head explode, his lips are so soft, so perfect against your own and you question why you didn’t do this before.
you pull away but neteyam chases after your lips and captures them again. You finally pull away and rest your forehead against his. Neteyam gives you another kiss that lasts shorter than your previous, “i see you, y/n”
you look up at him through your eyelashes and smile slowly
“say it back” he whispers against your lips and you almost give in.
“are you sure? you don’t wanna explore your other options?”
“you are the only option, ever.” you smile.
“i see you, neteyam” and you kiss him again, he whines into your mouth and you have to stop yourself from giggling at the sight of our future olo’eyktan being putty in your hands.
- you hear a sob from outside and later realize Rini stayed behind cuz she thought Neteyam would leave you and go after her but oh was she wrong
- loak, kiri, and spider dont even realize rini is missing and they start talking shit abt her once they know shes gone
- anytime rini saw u and neteyam after this, she would always have her fists balled up and bottom lip quivering
- she thought she still had a chance with neteyam after her eavesdropping on his confession but everytime yall hung out neteyam would be so clingy that eventually she realized he was too inlove with you
- fuck u rini hah hes mine btch

previous | part 3
word count: 3.7k
language: Tsahík- spiritual leader, Muntxate- mate / wife
description: To say you were happy about new arrangements would definitely be an understatement, yet somehow people’s word still struck you to your core. Little did you know a certain na’vi would put those too rest with three simple words. Fluff fluff and fluff.
Tumblr media
“I seek the family’s approval too court Y/n”
Head shooting up you could hardly believe the words that had left his lips. Eyes wide you looked too Ao’nung searching for any hint of deception. Heart racing in your chest your shocked features soon twisted into confusion. “Why?” Although your voice was low it seemed too echo through out the mauri. The deafening silence flooding back in once your words had faded. Gaze moving from your father too you his eyes seemed too soften. Your body stiff and hands clasped together in your lap as you tucked your pinkie in. A habit he had seemed too have created. Ears tinting slightly purple the male looked around. It seemed all eyes were on him, waiting for an answer. “I am showing my intentions.” Taking a pause Ao’nung seemed to be searching for his words. Ronal holding a proud smile as her son spoke.
“I wish to make you my Tsahík. No other woman has made me feel this way, and I do not wish for you too slip from my grasp.” Feeling flustered at the peering eyes Ao’nung ripped his eyes away from you. Now facing your parents. “I will treat her better than any other sutor could. The gifts in the corner are all for Y/n and her family.” Feeling the weight of the situation the Nerves began too set in for Ao’nung. His tail swaying with anxiousness. All of your family’s eyes seemed too turn towards you as they studied you for answer. You could not seem too meet their eyes as you could not tear your eyes from Ao’nung. Hand covering your mouth a dark hue washed over your cheeks. You did not even hear the second part as his words repeated in your head like a broken disc. He wish too make you his Tsahík. You are the first na’vi he had ever wanted too make his.
Stifling a laugh at your expression Lo’ak was the first too voice his opinion. “I accept, I know her better than anyone, and my sister seems overjoyed.” Shyly looking too your brother he met your gaze with a close lipped smile. You could not contain the way your tail whipped with excitement at his approval. “I knew this was coming so I’m with Lo’ak.” Kiri voiced her opinion, shrugging her shoulders as if she was not stunned only a minute ago. “I am fine with it, hopefully there is no mal-intent.” Your eldest brother locked eyes with the na’vi. His yellow orbs staring daggers into Ao’nung soul with an unspoken threat. Eyes just as heavy Ao’nung looked at Neteyam. An underlying offense in his expression. “I do not have any mal-intent.”
“We’ll I think that settles it. Me and my wife also approve. I believe her siblings judgement is strong.” Processing jakes words a smile slowly made its way too Ao’nungs face . Oceans eyes immediately finding you. You felt your heart leap at this action a shy smile making its way onto your lips. Although your future had been decided for you, you did not feel any resentment. If anything your felt an overwhelming sense of love and acceptance as the dinner commenced. You could not seem to maintain eye contact with your future mate without your face heating up. Overwhelmed with the feelings you had tried so hard too suppress, the feeling you never thought would be returned. It seemed that the dinner had ended too soon your family soon leaving the mauri. Ao’nung eyes did not seem to leave your body as you stood, bidding his sister goodbye.
Seeing him walk over you felt your heart leap. Meeting his eyes you felt as if you could burst with joy. “Goodnight y/n” Tucking your one stray braid behind your ear his ocean eyes bore into yours. Brining your hand up too his you navigated it too your cheek slightly nuzzling into his touch. “Goodnight Ma Aonung.” Face flushing the male looked at you his pupils dilating. Eyes scanning your features he had no doubt in his mind he had made the right choice. Ao’nung was sure he had his future in his hands.
Tumblr media
The next morning the you were awoken by the bustle of your home. lazily bring your body up you squinted your eyes attempting too adapt too the sunlight. Dazed and confused you struggled too set dream from reality. The memories of last night flooding in seeming as if they were a fantasy. “Y/n if you don’t want this can I have it?” Groggily blinking you processed Tuks words. Eyes traveling too the item in her hand you couldn’t help but let out a slight gasp. “Oh my Eywa.” Taking the bracelet out of Tuks hands you rushed over too the growing pile of materials in your family’s Mauri. Paying no mine too Tuks noises of disapproval you were too wrapped up in your own head. Mouth agape you scanned the amount of offerings brought too your mauri as the reality set in. A giggle erupted from your throat as you could help but embrace your youngest sister, spinning the twelve year old in the air. “I am being courted by Ao’nung!!” Shrill laugher filling the air the mauri was soon full of joy as Tuk mirrored your excitement, not quite sure why you were so hype, but she did not care.
“Looks like we made the right choice.” Body spinning too the entrance your eyes landed apon your father and brothers. The two younger ones carrying the remainder of the gifts as they entered. Placing Tuk down you threw your body into your fathers arms. A heart filled laughed rumbled through your fathers chest as he now spun you around. “Thank you daddy!” Wrapping your arm around your father he happily returned your hug. “Anything too make you happy baby girl.” A small smile made its way onto Jakes lips as he hugged you. Pride filling him with the fact that he had made you happy, that he had made the right choice.
“Not too be a vibe killer but sis…. you do know Ao’nung saw all that.” The humor in Neteyams voice was evident as Lo’aks giggles were already spilling past his lips. Pulling yourself away from your father you peer over his shoulder and sure enough the na’vi was there. A smug smirk placed apon his lips as he handed your father the items in his hands. “Morning y/n.” Hands clasping together you turn your gaze too the floor. The embarrassment of what he had witnessed slowly settling in. “Good morning” Almost muttering it you shifted your body weight from side too side.
“You kids get out of here ronal is expecting you.” Interrupting the awkward exchange your father ushered you out. Face heating up you took your place beside Ao’nung. Your heart seeming to rest at his usually pace around him as it beat against your chest rapidly. “I’ll walk you to the healing tent?” Voice rough the male smirk rested comfortable on his lips. Nodding your head softly you agreed. Pushing back your nerves you boldly took ahold of his arms. Your slim arm easily wrapping around his bigger one. Muscles stiffening under your hold his cocky demeanor slowly slipped away at your proximity. “You do not know what you do to me forest girl.” Finding your smaller hand he engulfed it with his. A warm feeling crashing over the both of you.
As the two of you walked to the healers tent it seemed that the village began to wake with your pretense. A chatter following behind you as the village gossiped. Ao’nung had never openly showed his affection no matter how many relationships he had been in so for him to be walking hand in hand with a na’vi sent shock waves through the village. It did not take long for your news of him courting you to spread like wildfire. You would not be surprised if by the time the two of you had reached the Tsahíks tent the whole village knew. Usually this would make a woman proud. Being claimed by a man so openly was suppose to be something a woman dreams of yet you felt none of that. You did not enjoy the gossiping that occurred after your arrival and did not wish for something about you to be in mouths of others. Sensing your unease Ao’nung squeezed your hands oceans eyes not tearing away from yours.
“You okay y/n?” Stopping a few steps away from the entrance of your destination he turned his body towards you. Your arm being ripped away from latching onto his. A sense of guilt seemed to build as you looked into his concerned eyes. You did not wish to dampen the mood over something so minor. “Of course.” Clasping your hands together you sent a small smile towards the male. Obviously not buying it his face seems to harden but the words never had a chance to leave his lips. Aggressively opening the tent Ronal announced her presence. “You are keeping my student from me. Arent you accompanying your father today? ” Crossing her arms the two of your turned to her. An annoyance plastered on Ao’nungs face as his eyes rolled at his mothers words. “Meet me after eclipse on the beach.” Words spilling out of his lips he pressed a hasty kiss to your forehead. “Of course” responding, your once dampened mood skyrocketd at the simple gesture as the na’vi ran off. Shyly looking too his mother she wore a similar smirk too her sons as she eyed you knowingly. “Come child, we must begin your preparation.”
𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅
Whoever said being a woman in a clans was easy, is a liar. For hours you were given examples and duties of tsahík and the list made your head spin. Not saying that these tasks would be overbearing but it definitely wasn’t light work. You could only thank Eywa the festivities and religious ceremonies were branched out the months. Now, sitting in front of foreign herbs you attempted to memories the names and affects. You only knew a minor amount of healing as you were a warrior alongside your brother in the forest. You tried to tie the Metkayina herbs to the ones you already had knowledge of. “Atla will be helping you I must step out.” Forcing you out of your mind Ronal commanding voice filled the Mauri. Eyeing the na’vi next to the woman you examined her features. She could not be much older than you, maybe around Ao’nungs age. Atla was beautiful standing taller than you she held herself with elegance and confidence with a smile. Rising to your feet you hurriedly greet the woman. “I am y/n”
“Oh please I know, you’re the talk of village!” Voice high pitch she spoke enthusiastically. Striding over to you. “Do not gossip the whole time. The future Tsahík must learn quickly.” Words stern Ronals words were commanding. Although she had her soft moments the thought of having her as a mother in law still sent shivers down your spine. It seemed that her intimidation did not have the same affect on Atla because as soon as Ronal form vanished the woman already had rumors spilling out her mouth. “Is it true you are pregnant ? How far along are you? People in the village are saying its the only reason he’s with a na’vi well……like you.”
“Excuse me?” Confusion and shock evident in your voice you looked the na’vi up and down. Processing her words your feelings soon turned sour. “I am not pregnant, and what do you mean na’vi like me” Poison evident in your voice you looked at the taller woman. “I mean, you are not metkayina and on top of that you’re not true na’vi.” You felt your stomach drop with her eyes as she examined your hand. Clasping them together you quickly tucked in your extra finger body language rigid and hurt. Your obvious signs of discomfort did not seem to affect Atla as she continue too speak as if this was a causal conversation. “The people just never thought he would chose an outsider and alien. There’s a bunch of theories going around since this morning but most think you trapped the poor boy. Did you seduce him?” Disregarding your feelings her eyes bore into yours. She did not seem to have a hint of remorse. The room seemed to suffocate you as you processed her words. Tears pricking the ends of your eyes as your emotions made it hards too breath.
“The people do not think I’m worthy?” Voice cracking you looked up to the female. Her eyes showed confusion at your question as her thoughts swarmed in her head. “I mean, not really, but look at you.” Her words were harsh as she motioned to your frame. “To be honest I always thought it would be me, I was pretty surprised that his parents let him chose.” Not being able to handle anymore of her rambling you rushed through the exit. Inside you knew a part of her was doing this out of jealousy acting all innocent and casual so you would be the dramatic one but you could not seem to care as you stormed out the Mauri. You knew your feeling of euphoria would not last long and people would talk, Ao’nung was to the future chief after all, but hearing the word so soon still hurt. Looking at it from an outside perspective it did make sense, Ao’nung should be with a real Metakyina.
That night you did not meet Ao’nung at the beach. Hell you didn’t even go back to your Mauri. Finding peace in the small forest on the island you hid yourself from reality and the hatefulness of the clans disapproval. Basking in the darkness of the forest you pretended as if you were home. Pretend that you were away from all this conflict for all the disproval you got for the sin of being born. You couldn’t help but wonder if things would be different if you had three fingers. Raising your hand into the sky a hatred grew as you examined the five fingers, cursing Eywa for allowing your soul to crossover into such a form.
Tumblr media
To say Ao’nung was confused was an understatement. The male did not understand why you had not shown up on the shoreline. All the excuses in his head running out as eclipse turned too day. The male had dozed off on the shoreline awoken by the tide against his skin. His confusion soon turned to irritation as he gathered his thoughts. The na’vi was quick to set out on a search checking your family Mauri to no avail. They had simply said they assumed she was with him their worried faces telling no lies. His mother seemed to be a dead end as well. Ronals words being “She stormed out on Atla, Atla said it was because she was frustrated with all her tasks.” It was hard for him to believe her words as you were not the type to give up. Finally, the idea of the small forest in near the village struck his mind as he was quick to venture into the unfamiliar area.
Ao’nung had never been much of a land adventurer always sticking to the ocean. He saw the small forest as a place for the gatherers never setting foot in a place he did not have control over. To say he was wandering endlessly would not be a far stretch as he seemed to be lost among the tropical trees. Frustrated and hot his discomfort was unmatched. But, it seems his tireless search did not end up fruitless as his sights soon landed on your dark blue body laid leisurely agains a tree. Your hands worked slowly as you peeled a fruit with your knife. Meaningless humming filling the area around you. “Is this where you have been?!”
Jumping as his voice the fruit was quick to fall out your hand along with your knife. You felt your stomach drops as your eyes were met with a seeming furious Ao’nung. His shadow casting a shade over you as you looked up to meet his eyes. A familiar feeling of guilt and regret seemed to bubble up as you looked at the man the furrow in his eyes unrelenting. “I did not mean too-”
“What? Stand me up?” Voice dripping with anger he glared down at you. “I do not understand what you want.” His seeming angry tone cracked as he said his last sentence. A hint of hurt seeping through his frustration. “Do you even want me? Your actions are so contradicting I do not understand!” Anger slipping away it seems that his true emotions seemed to show. The confusion and pain evident in his tone. “Ao’nung, of course I want you.” Voice soft you rose to your feet. Attempting to place a hand on his shoulder. Harshly ripping away from your touched the na’vi looked into your yellow eyes. “You say that I was playing with you now look at you.” Seeming to come to his own conclusion the na’vi backed away. Heart racing in a panic at his retreating form you felt all your newly formed doubts spill to the surface. Your brain screaming a you to make him stay.
“No! You don’t understand! I simply came out here to recollect. Ao’nung, please.” Racing after him your hand gripped on his shoulder. Harshly turning around his ocean eyes bore into yours. “Ah yes and thats a perfect excuse for showing interest than running away!” Sarcasm evident in his tone his fist clench at his sides. “I just-“ A roll of his eyes seems to shut your right up. A lump in your throat slowly gathering as you felt him slipping from your grasp. “I do not want to hear it y/n”
“No! I only left because your clan does not wish to have me. An alien and outsider as a Tsahík? They do not want me Ao’nung. How could you want me?” Tears pricking the sides of your eyes the lump in your throat only grew as they escaped cascading down your face. “Who has said this?” Although the anger was still evident it was no longer directed towards you as his hand quickly cupped your face. “You have said these words as well you can not be mad at your fellow tribesmen.” Eyes flashing with regret his oceans eyes swarmed with many emotions. Remembering the harsh words that had left his mouth many time.
“I was a skxáwng. I have always wanted you even before I ever realized what these feelings are. Y/n you are meant to be my Tsahík. I do not care what words leave the mouths of the clan members they listen to me.” Softly wiping away your tears his calloused hand brushed against your cheek. Letting his body relax it seems that all the resentment flowed out. His impulsive feelings leaving alongside his assumed conclusions. Feeling the tension leave his body you could help but allow your heart to flutter at his words. Stepping forward you closed the distance between you and Ao’nung, seeming entranced by his very being. Your body did not seem to stop until you felt the heat from his chest only an inch away from yours.
Breathing rigged his ocean eyes scan you. Flashing between your eyes and lips. His self control withering away by the second. “They will always see me as an alien. No amount of power can change that.” Almost as if supporting your point you brung your hand up putting your four fingers on display. It was as if you were working against yourself on purpose, still not fully accepting you could be his. The invisible marks from his actions from weeks ago still seeping in. “Their opinions have no effect on me. I do not care what they see.” Turquoise hand wrapping around yours his color engulfed your hand. “I see you y/n”
His touch burning you looked into his eyes. The breath from your lungs taken away. “I can not breathe without your presence y/n. You do not have to say it back but please do not push yourself away from me I-“ Stoping the mans nervous rant you could not help but crash your lips into his. His hands dropping to rest on your hips. You could taste the saltiness of your tears but it seemed neither of you seemed to care refusing to break the connection. Pushing down the burning of your lungs your pressed your hands against his chest pushing the male until back hit a bark of a tree. An amused hum came from his throat as he pulled away his normal persona taking no time to come back as a smirk rested upon his lips. Chest heaving you seemed to drown in his eyes struggling to catch your breath. “I see you Ao’nung.”
Heart fluttering at your words Ao’nungs ears seemed to shoot up. His once smirking face morphing into a genuine smile. “You will be my muntxate no one will stop that.” Voice stern and determined the male seems to be reassuring your doubts with his eyes holding no lies. A small sigh breached you lips as you rested your head on his chest. Your slim arms wrapping around his waist in a soft embrace he was quick to return. “I will not run away again. I will seek my refuge with you ma Aonung.” A purr coming from his chest the male could not be happier as held you in his arms. A sense of peace washing over the both of you as all the difficulties disappeared. “I will always be here for you my forest girl.”

With all my love, pt. 3
Part 3 is finally here and *gasp* lore?!
Do you know how hard it is to escape your top 5 pro-hero ex-boyfriend? His voice plays on my radio during my commute. His image is plastered across the news in the lobby this morning before lunch—he’s acting irrationally again. He’s always been too much of a hothead.
His recent heroic deeds have garnered both admiration and scrutiny. My departure seems to have affected him, causing some of his harsher traits to resurface. I never anticipated that he would notice, let alone react like this.
"I don't care if he's a jerk. Dynamite is one of the best heroes of this generation," I overhear one of the news anchors saying. The radio in the small restaurant makes it hard to miss.
"Dynamite is one bad decision away from killing someone," the woman says, clearly frustrated with her cohost. "I don't even know if it would be on accident."
"He has saved more people this year than Deku. How is that not a hero?" the cohost argues back.
"He's also cost this city thousands of man-hours repairing the damage his blasts created."
I set my tablet down, trying to push their argument out of my head. The familiar chime of bells rings, drawing my gaze to the doorway.
A redhead stands there, his eyes scanning the restaurant until they find mine. His face softens as he makes his way over, pulling out a chair and sitting across from me.
"You look good today," he says warmly. "Changed your hair?"
"No, but I did change my relationship status." I roll my eyes at his attempt at small talk. I know my ex-boyfriend's best friend didn’t just call me up to chat.
He chuckles, a sound out of place given the tension. “Look, I know things have been rough for you.”
“Rough? That’s putting it mildly.”
He leans forward, elbows on the table. “I want to help. He’s worried about you, you know.”
I sigh, glancing at the drawing in front of me. “He wasn’t worried when I was crying myself to sleep.”
“I get it,” he says softly. “But he’s struggling too. The hero life isn’t as glamorous as it seems. You know that better than anyone.” My heart skips a beat at the reminder of my early retirement. “The constant pressure, the expectations... it’s taking a toll on him.”
I look up, meeting his eyes. They hold sincerity, a genuine concern I hadn’t expected. “What do you want from me?” I whisper.
“Talk to him. Just once. Hear him out. You both deserve that closure.”
I lean back, the weight of his words settling over me.
“Fine,” I say after a long pause. “I’ll talk to him. But this doesn’t mean anything beyond that.”
He nods, a small smile playing on his lips. “That’s all I’m asking. Thank you.”
He settles back into his chair and picks up the menu. "Why don't we order something?"
I nod, grateful for the change in topic. "Sure. I hear their ramen is amazing."
We browse the menu, tension easing as we focus on the food. The waitress comes by, and we place our orders—spicy miso ramen for me, tonkotsu ramen for him.
As we wait, the restaurant buzzes with lunchtime chatter. Clinking utensils, humming conversations, and occasional laughter create a comforting atmosphere. It feels almost normal, a brief break from the chaos.
“So,” he says, breaking the silence, “how’s work? Still drawing those amazing designs?”
I smile, appreciating his interest. “Yeah, hectic, but I’m managing. Deadlines are killer, though.” He laughs as our waitress places two bowls in front of us.
“I can imagine. But your work is worth it. You’ve got talent, always have.”
“Thanks,” I say, feeling more at ease. “How about you? How’s hero life?”
“It’s... a lot,” he admits, mouth full of food. He swallows. “But it’s worth it, knowing we’re making a difference." I hum in agreement, tasting my food. The flavorful broth dances across my tongue, making me do an unconscious happy dance.
"We really do miss you though," Kiri says, his voice trailing off as he scratches his neck. I feel a pang of remembrance. I've never stopped missing being a hero. I hate not being able to work with my best friends.
"I don't get a retirement package as a hero," I reply, forcing a smile to mask my heartache. But it's clear my facade fails as regret fills Kiri's eyes. Apologies spill from his lips, but I don't listen. Instead, I reach out and gently place my hand on his for a brief moment.
"Eijiro, I promise you I've moved on. I don't blame anyone for what happened," I assure him, pushing another smile onto my face. "I got over that a long time ago."
I withdraw my hand and continue to eat, the conversation flowing more easily after a few moments. We reminisce about our days at UA, share laughs about our coworkers, and for a while, it feels like old times.
By the time we finish, I feel lighter, the past weeks’ weight lifting slightly. It’s not a solution, but it’s a start.
“Thanks for meeting me,” he says as we stand to leave. “and for agreeing to talk to him.”
I nod, a sense of anticipation blooming. “We’ll see how it goes.”
As we step out into the city’s noise, I unblock his number from my phone and watch in horror as hundreds of missed messages flood my phone screen.

Tuning Out, Tuning In
Tumblr media
((banner by me! I don't own Horikoshi's characters or this art))
Pairing: Bakugou x reader (biker!pro hero, some afab pronouns used)
Words: 5.1K
Rating: T+ (language, bc obviously)
Warnings: Pro-Hero Bakugo/Pro-Hero Reader, cursing as a love language, insecurities, arguing, use of hearing aids (not an expert!), light hurt/comfort, she falls first-he falls harder
Summary:
So he's got context clues down. Smart, but not convincing enough. He's still not hearing you- because he can't.  You check on your Katsuki after an unannounced leave of absence, only to discover the true reason why is the source of a mighty insecurity of his that he's expertly kept you out of the loop of till now. He's defensive and mean- uncharacteristically so, towards you when you find out. It's heart-wrenching when he realizes he's snapped at you, and gutting when you love him through it.
A/N: *Can be read as a follow-up in the 'Backpack Privileges' universe, but not necessarily a series. Just how I envision these babies evolving~
For my My Hero Academia Masterlist, check it out here!

News from the girls at the scheduling counter is  that Dynamight was actually putting in PTO for the first time this calendar year.
Sure he’s worked hard, but when doesn’t he? It wasn't like he expended so much energy from his last rescue call that he was too tired or anything when you’d last seen him… so the time off request surprised you. Katsuki Bakugou never took time off, even when he’s congested to the point of sounding like a wounded seagull and hacking up a lung.
You called to check on him the first day he was out, but it went unanswered; he texted back instead that he was in the middle of eating and asked what you needed. You told him to rest up, and he proceeded to spam you with the same angry animal memes as always.
At the office, things were at a surprising lull by the end of the week, with Kirishima on your right on the sofa scrolling through some mods Hatsume had for him to review. Meanwhile, you took the rather unprofessional route and scrolled on your phone. Your retort to Kiri’s tutting over the bad habit was that you knew the higher ups were off with Jeanist at some press junket, and you could risk it. Called you a naughty thing, how Bakugou was rubbing off on you. You’re sure even at your hangriest you’re not that prickly.
An instinct, you try calling Bakugou again, this time on speakerphone. It’s been a whole workweek, after all. It rings twice, then straight to voicemail. You end the call before recording anything, and fuss at the phone in your hand.
“Ok, Kiri? This is weird.”
“Hm? What is?”
“He’s never answering,” you lock the phone habitually, “-and I mean never. No ‘hi’, no ‘whaddya want’; did he lose his voice or something?”
Kirishima finally breaks focus to look at you, questioning, “Bakubro?”
“Yeah, he hasn’t– not that I’m trying every day or anything, but it’s been almost a week of nothing and-”
-your phone dings: one new preview of a message from ‘Backpack’ lights your lockscreen, and your frustration ramps up to 60.
“-Then he freakin’ texts– like two seconds later!! What the actual hell is going on with him?!”
Kirishima just snorts.
“Maybe he’s taking a dump~”
“He would not text me on the toilet.”
“All men do it.”
“KIRI.” you swat his foot off the couch that’s laid out towards you, crossing yours while he cackles behind his ipad’s screen.
“Oh cmon, he’s fine! He’s just taking a breather~” Kirishima presses you with an assuring look you’re inclined to buy, because his delivery is just that sweet, “Doesn’t really take time off much anymore, so if he did, he probably needs it. Been doing a lot of those muscle contracts, which pays well! But it’s no joke how much it takes out of you– Kamui wants him, Rocklock wants him-”
You do worry about the workload Bakugou is  under given all the names Kirishima rattles off, but your boy’s assured you it’s all part of his drive. That, and he says Bakugou’s saving up for something important for work, but doesn’t disclose more than that.
You don’t press when Bakugou puts up a wall– knowing full well he tells you things when he’s ready.  Till now, he’s not given an indication that he doesn't distrust you with anything- not even his life. You have each other’s backs, and that’s an honor that you value and reciprocate. Perhaps it’s by that faith in one another that you should grant him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe one of these days under another starry sky from the back of your bike, he may share his whats and hows and whys to that sweet spot behind your ear, disguising his secrets with yet another kiss he saves for when you’re alone.
But this silence is really throwing you a curveball. Katsuki’s voice is just one of the many things you’ve come to adore about him. When you confessed that little thought to him, he turned a soft answer -a promise- that he’d answer when you called, day or night. It’s a gruff, punchy sound when you hear it over coms, or even through your shared helmets; but it’s also rumbling, constant, soothing when you hear it fitted against your ear.
You never thought you’d even miss Dynamight’s passive aggressive screaming so much– until you don’t have any echo of him in your head at all.
“-or yknow if it’s not his schedule, it’s his body that’s about to quit on him. He’s probably giving his ears a break, if I had to guess!”
“...His ears.”
Kirishima looks up at you again, like his point was obvious, “Yeah. He can’t wear ‘em all the time– they’ve gotta charge, and if he’s sweat them out of their normal place, they pinch-”
Realization forces you to sit up straight, “Katsuki wears hearing aids?”
“Well he has to, with his quirk!” Kirishima tickled himself explaining so, “Kats probably blew out his inner ear in middle school, and it’s only gotten worse the harder he’s trained. He got fitted for new ones sometime last winter which he says are more comfortable than the last ones, but I dunno-” Kirishima cracked his neck in a roll, “I think he keeps' em in too long; and they drive him batty after a while.”
You didn’t like the sound of that.
Down at your phone, you read the text message fully:
Backpack: Knee deep in dishes. What’s up pretty girl.
You decide to answer,
//Waiting on a call for a pickup, just keeping the couch warm~  Up for a call real quick?
‘Backpack’ takes a minute this time. You reason maybe he’s using speech to text given the perfect grammar.
Backpack: Can’t right now.
// Podcast instead? ((eyes emoji))
Backpack: Pass.
//Kiri misses you… ((sad eyes))
Backpack: No he fucking doesn’t.
Backpack: Throw him a bone or try some fetch, he’ll be fine.
You don’t even laugh at the image with how much he’s deflecting talking to you. Laying back, your concern must be palpable because Kiri nudges you with his foot, and you stare at its buckles; anything from looking at his face.
“He never turns down food.”
“What d’you mean.”
“I mean, he’ll need to eat~” Kirishima’s never ending support coats his words. “-and I’d be shocked if he’d  turn his Darling DoorDasher down.”
You snorted, “Hush, you.”
Kirishima knew full well about you two- he’s not blind. He knows about dates one, two, well- every date, whether from Bakubro's lips or your own. But while it doesn’t feel new and raw… it feels tender and personal, what you share with your hero off the field– and you don’t want the bubble to burst between you and Katsuki. Not just yet.
-which is why, despite your firm concern deep in your gut reminding you of your plans throughout your shift,  you are nervous for your first time going to his apartment, unannounced.
You knock four times, then back away to the near side of the door so it doesn’t hit you when it opens. A lull of ‘nothing’ hung in the air..
You reconsidered,  suspicion making you  bite your cheek: what if he can’t hear you?
You knock four more times, a bit louder. You’re cringing as you come back to your lean. Shuffling, you do indeed look like a food delivery service- an insistent-looking one, to the couple passing by on the ground floor who look up at you and likely wonder why you don’t just call this a ‘contactless delivery’ and jog on..
“Cmon, Kats…” you bemoan before steeling your nerves. You try just three more times, channeling your inner ‘Dynamight’ yourself and banging at a level that would take it off its hinges before cringing away to your waiting spot.
Bakugou’s neighbor pops his head out of the door opposite you this time– nailing you with a reproachful look. Apologies mouthed, you smile demurely as the sound of a very aware Bakugou approaches now.
“I’M COMING, DAMMIT!”
The neighbor -perhaps wisely- shuts his door as he hears the door about to be unlocked. The way his eyebrows fly up, you infer that he does little to ever cross his hotheaded neighbor.
“ALRIGHT ALREADY- WHAT?!”
He's gorgeous, still. Pissy and caught off his guard, and donned headphones around his neck. But Bakugou double-takes to you with a frozen mouth, watching you push off the siding seemingly unaffected by his outburst and smiling casually.
“Hiya~”
His jaw flexes, but he forces his snarl away. Clearly conflicted at your presence, he pinched his brow.
"Said you were workin’ today. What’re you doing."
"I was in the neighborhood. Brought you a bowl~" you bribed the man's heart with the top way you knew how: a white and red ‘thank you’-covered baggie with the jackpot inside..
He likes kamameshi so he doesn’t hafta chew a ton. If his ear n’ jaw are tired, the softer the better. You can't go wrong with a nice bowl o’comfort…  Not like it’d last long with that guy’s appetite on a good day, anyways! Hah!
Hardly one to refuse you (just as Kirishima lovingly predicted), Bakugou stepped aside to let you in, granting you a gentle stroke on your back as you passed him..
Inside, you trade giving him the bag with his offering of your choice in houseshoes. On the far side of the room, the TV is on, including a scroll of subtitles. You look about and the place is spotless- he wasn’t lying about the rage cleaning.
"In the neighborhood, huh?" Bakugou called to you, dishing out the box of takeout while watching you get settled in.
You already said so, but made sure to face him as you speak- eyes all on you. You think that making a sweet delivery is reason enough for your presence here,
"Yeah~ the office drew a short straw on the menu this week, so I’ve been eating out more~ still don’t know how you can mess up potatoes, but sure enough, Feefee’s found a way~" you smile, coming up to his side with a little lilt in your step.
-but Bakugou just drones back,
"Overdue on our lunches, aren’t we sweets. We'll go do something this weekend."
Oh boy. You’re really bad off. A diss at the agency kitchen staff would never go unnoticed by the resident lunch snob, you think to yourself. You may not have lightning fast quips like Kaminari, but c'mon, that was a little funny…
Any other time that Bakugou would willingly suggest a date would thrill you. Maybe he’s even aware that he’s been avoiding you, and is trying to make up for it by suggesting a couple places offhand. But knowing the real reason behind the aversion, it doesn’t warm you the way it always does.
His answer was typical and wasn't really related to what you asked at all, so you watch him take some bites and try again.
You trailed over to his dining kitchenette, taking a seat before him, tone lovely and appropriate for the distance between you.
“You should have seen Kiri’s attempt to make my coffee order. Almost put a pump of salmon oil in instead of simple syrup! But hey, that just means job security for you, yeah? You’re so much better at it.”
You make eyes at the tv behind you as you speak- a test.
He catches your intentional look, but he twists in his seat to glance. Then, focuses back on you and not making a mess of his dish, “Yeah, you can change it if you want.”
So he's got context clues down. Smart, but not convincing enough. Still not hearing.
You try once more, sass tinting your voice as if you were teasing him privately.
"We adopted a purple hippo as an office pet~"
"Mhm," Bakugou picked up on the attitude, pausing and coming to your side with a bit of a swagger he hopes looks natural, "Sure been a crazy week. Missed a lot. We’ll get back to normal soon, yeah? Cmon, let's go watch somethin’."
Your hands fall to your thighs in a resigned slap. Sighing, you look to him desperately, urging him with more enunciation.
"This is bad, Katsuki."
"What's so bad." Bakugou reads your lips and deflects.
You tap your ear with a sympathetic look.
– his demeanor changes. Horribly.
Bakugou steps away in almost disbelief, edgy and firm: a rolling boil starts to simmer behind his eyes. Turning aside, he huffs. Guilty.
He turns tail to the kitchen, cursing under his breath to ‘give him a second.’ Bakugou pushes his stacks of cleaned dishes aside, making a clash of noise even you flinch at. It’s evident the sound doesn’t phase him.
"No, you don't have to put them-"
"I can't fucking HEAR YOU, woman; give me a DAMN SECOND!!"
Coming around the island after him, you see he’s trying to get at the charging dock on the backside of his butcher block.
Watching him fiddle with just his right ear, he turns back and faces you prickly as ever, with arms crossed and barely attempting to rein in his anger.
You are sure now you've struck a nerve if he's acting like this around you. You tread carefully,
"I'm not here to just yap your head off, or commandeer your days off. I… was just concerned."
"About what? I'm fine."
"It's been five days,” you stress gently, “you didn't think I would think it’s weird if you didn’t answer once?"
"I answered you back every time," Bakugou raised his voice a tick, "Every text– never left you on read, cuz I know that feels shitty!"
"I know you did," you give him credit, "But it's– different when we talk, and you know that difference. It's just that you always call back. It just hasn’t felt normal -for you- is all. And I didn’t know there was going to be a reason like this that’s why."
"Well it's not like I could hear the phone ring anyway, so fuck me for that. How the hell’d you find out anyway."
"...I didn't know until Kirishima said something. I was telling him I-"
"Of course it fucking was,” Bakugou huffed again, “Well, it's none of his business, it’s not his problem, and he should kept his DAMN mouth shut."
To trash Kirishima like this -hotheaded and bitter- definitely feels more like an attack than he'd ever mean on a good day. Kiri is his best friend, and clearly close enough to have been there at the first fitting and have a picture perfect memory of it because it mattered so much to his buddy to be there for him. To not let it define him.
You can't pretend to know how sensitive of a subject this is, based on how confident Bakugou is with everything in life: even the litany of scars he wears outlining his hero work aren't off limits to discussion. But his answers come armed with cached ammo and heat.
You certainly don't think yourself entitled to everything about him, but you see now that he clearly hadn’t planned to tell you about his wearing hearing aids, or at least hadn’t intended for you find out this way… so someone had to take the brunt of his ire. You think to be grateful he doesn’t appear ready to snap at you, but you feel so much on the outside, it hurts to watch him sizzle.
You try to take the pressure off the leak of the news, "Where's this coming from, hon?"
Bakugou grunts, looking back to you with a raised brow.
You gestured between you just to talk with your hands a little, "Where  is  this  coming-"
"HELL IF I KNOW!” Bakugou shouts back, “It just IS. I just wanted- it-- Look, just fuckin’ drop it, ok? I will. be back. tomorrow. And everything’ll be like it was before you knew a damn thing, ALRIGHT??"
He's defensive and mean now; the pitch he never aimed at you before now entered the ring.
This was a line you were damned sure not to let any man cross.
"Ok, we're gonna try that again,” you spoke plain as day.
"Try WHAT again??"
"Discussing, not fighting." You stood firm at his counter. You will not be taking up a screaming match under any circumstances, and have to make that clear. "Coming up with an answer -together- because that's what we do when our backs are up against the wall... Not bite the hand that's trying to help. ‘Hit the problem, not the player’."
The words resonate with Bakugou, having been the one who shot that reminder to you not a week ago from his own mouth, and everything in that face full of fire wants to rear back–
"-and before you say ANYTHING else... You will. not. talk to me like that."
You hear the hero’s palms sizzle, and see by the look of hatred he glares at them with that he clearly hates the feel.
Bakugou lets out a growl then goes silent, obeying. He takes a little pace around, finally settling at the tall, bar-height stool, rubs his palms compulsively at his thighs as a reset, and pulls at his head until it lays dejected in those explosive hands propped up on his knees.
Your invitation to stand by him opens when he lifts his head and scowls behind tented fingers. Kindly, you make sure to stand closer to his right to give him the best chance of catching your words.
"Y'know I'm the last one who's ever gonna give you a hard time for this, don’t you?"
Bakugou doesn't answer, but you know he's listening.
"It's hard for me to take time off work too, I don't do it as much as I should. I know it's hard to leave work at work, and you did that on your own, in order to take care of yourself. You know your limits and that’s keeping you alive. That was really wise."
You see a little bob of the head by the slight jostle of his hair.
What bothers you here and now isn’t just selfish thoughts of ‘why didn’t he tell me’, but ‘why didn’t he tell anyone’? It’s clear by what you’ve learned that next to no one knows of his condition. That small aspect of this gives you a little comfort, but opens up a bigger dose of worry. Hearing impairment might be perceived by a bystander as a defect or weakness, but for the old friends and medical experts who surely surround him, you’d feel confident in Bakugou’s care to know he’d surely not think of himself that way.
Surely not… surely not?
“But the thing is, if it's coming down to you hurting and needing help- or just, getting time away if that's what you really want, I can totally get that. But  between you and I? We've gotta figure out how you really feel about this, because it’s eating at you. Affects everything you do at some point, right? Can't have you working yourself to the bone here, overworking your senses out there, feeling like you can’t speak for days on end, setting things off, either. Even accidentally."
You swipe along his shoulder and arm sweetly, just for a little connection.
“I… I really do care about you, Katsuki. I don't want you to feel you have to manage it all on your own.  I want to be someone you can have in your back pocket for help- even with something like this.”
A ‘ride or die’ offer if there ever was one.
Bakugou looks in the direction of your hand. The smooth, unscarred hand you sport is so different from his own. Proof of the softness he lost a long time ago, his sunken eyes tell you. He blinks, and it’s a pensive, sad sight.
 "M'sorry."
The hoarseness in that proud voice fell hollow.
To anyone else, it may sound apathetic and half-assed, but Bakugou held so much ‘punch’ in his daily speech that you realized this apology featured the even breath of emotion. Restraint. His control. His gentleness.
“You can't help how your body works, Kats. You don't have to apologize for what's happening naturally. This is... just a side effect, unfortunately.”
“T’snot that,” he said limply.
A second attempt to finish for him, you try again studying the takeout boxes left open. “I.. get you not telling me, too. It’s not my business either.”
Bakugou shakes his head, with a dismissive jerk of the head altogether. Instead he lifts up, miserably.
"I don't talk to you that way."
Through a brief silent showdown, you accept his apology. As rough as he is even with his own mother, Bakugou has framed a different ring for you two to dance in, and harshness doesn’t belong in it.
"You don’t,” the agreement is established, “that's how I knew something's out of whack. Plus, I mean.. if you can’t pick up background noise, it must be hard trying to match volume in a space, right?"
Bakugou’s hoarseness fails him, falling to which air, "That's a shit poor excuse. You were right. I know the difference."
Meekly reaching for hip, the man sniffles: pulling you the rest of the way between his bent legs.
You step in and he crumbles into your core, strong hands encircling your hips.
"I'm sorry," he swears.
"It's ok..."
Bakugou squeezes you in, "It's not. Ok. You should have slapped me for that shit.”
“I’m not doing that, either,” you get weary hearing how the guys rough each other up. You’re certainly not applying the same tactics to him of all people.
“Well, it’s inexcusable. I respect you more than to do that. Know better.”
"I forgive you, then."
"You shouldn't, so easily.”
Chin jutted on his still-bowed head, your answer comes simply but openly:
"...That's commonly called love, Katsuki. I love you. That’s what I do."
He's silent and frozen. The only sign of life is that he is -in fact- breathing still.
You said these, the magic words, in record time for anyone you've held affection for... and you didn't care. You loved Katsuki. Loved all of him. Even the prickly bits that threatened to square up at you like  a bull.
Friendship was an surprisingly easy test for you two.
Partnership, battle-proven in the public sphere.
But this is the final straw that youve been keeping safe and special. Telling Katsuki you loved him would push things to a deeper level than you felt the term ‘boyfriend’ afforded you both at thirty years old. In loving him, and no one else, you just wanted to call him ‘yours’ already and be done with searching for the One.
Since he doesn’t speak, you busy yourself elsewhere. He may not answer nearly as quickly as you given how on-the-spot he mulls in currently… but he hasn’t let go of you, which is a good sign. Good enough for you.
Your mind veers a bit in the quiet. You think to yourself about what feels nicest when you've had your helmet on too long; athletes deal with it, racers deal with it.. Anyone who wears a support item with internal padding giving cushion around the head is bound to force unnatural pressure on every angle for the sake of protection.
On you, this tension lies just behind the ears.
To soothe it, you’d usually draw a sun: a half circle design, zigzagging up and down with your fingertips, creating lines of relief along the tender sides of your head. It's to help the blood flow, and the scratches crackle nicely to the ear canal. Acts as white noise to the senses which is often a welcome change to the low thrum of a headache or grating road noise.
So with careful fingers, a mind set on comfort and a heartful of soft love for this man, you draw twin suns deep within Katsuki's hair.
…within seconds, he wept.
Bakugou softly cries and he holds you close. He turns in his seat, pulling you to fit even tighter between his knees with no gap of room between you.
When he can regulate his breaths down to calm blows from his lips, he shares more what's on his mind, down the space between you.
"...that feels really good."
"I hoped so~. So your head bothers you too, after a while. Having them in all the time?"
He turns his head finally to rest on one side, the functionally deaf side leaning into your chest... listening out for a heartbeat it seems.
“N’it’s all inside, so it’s hard to touch it unless I pump myself full of horsepills… makes m’stomach hurt."
From head to toe, he’s being honest about what this means for him. "The thing that’s meant to help, hurts? I’m sorry, hon."
He's still swallowing back his emotions, so you don't press for what he wants to say when it's clear he's focused on getting good rhythm back.
"My arm gets numb sometimes, too."
You're surprised at this, as more pieces fit together you didn’t know were necessarily missing, "-Yeah?"
"It's somethin' in the tendons. Can fight fine, but small moves are weird. I can't pick up a fucking piece of paper right. N'holding my phone hurts some days."
With a kiss to his hair, you see the teed-up ‘in’ to make him laugh,
"Well, who're you gonna be texting anyway, now that I won't be blowing up your phone?"
He tuffs. Joking aside, you hugged you close. “Gotta to back to that dumbass doctor, don't I."
"They can check your nerve endings with a scan. See if there's a reason for it."
Bakugou accepts this and continues his baring of his heart. He mentions old pains, some new ones, even some random details about which oscillating fans he likes on or off because of how warm he runs. Some of it relates to his work, some not, but you take it all in. Each little snippet he offers up reminds you of penguin pebbling.
Satisfaction rang through you with the news that caused the biggest physical response in him: he confessed after all that he hadn’t wanted to ignore you at all, and it shows.
His hands massage at you– never getting enough.
“V’missed your voice too,” Bakugou’s voice finally seeps back in- that low, growly rumble of the chest you wanted to play on loop, “But I know I needed that break. I wanted 'em out, just for a little while. Even if I didn’t want to miss the good that comes from keepin’ em in.”
“That’s fine to want. Anytime you need.”
Bakugou turns exploratory with his hand. With the one not locked around your waist keeping you to him, he gives long scritches across your back, up front to hold your side- rooting him.
“N’for the record, not everyone knows. It’s probably in a record somewhere, so it’s not really been taboo or anything. No one’s ever banned me from fighting; not yet at least. It’s not a secret. But… s’been so long, I’ve… never had to explain them to anyone. Sure as shit don't tell the public.”
Tender fingers seek out the soft inner side of your wrist, just a small touch.
“But you…I didn’t know how to open that up. Seems like a random ass thing to drop on you.”
You understand, and think it sweet that he at least had contemplated telling you at some point– but now, you could only look to his future and knew this would only help you moving forward.
"Nothing’s random if it’s important to you. So head scratches are a yes. Fast food is a yes, keeps you out of the stores. Anything else I should keep in mind to help?"
Bakugou thinks, but just holds onto you with a little nuzzle, "Not now. Yer doin’ it."
Happy and soft, you smile, "Okey~"
After a minute, he's matched your breathing, and you only move when he lifts his head to chin up at you from his spot. You smile expectantly seeing him less harsh around the edges and looking at you on the softer side of pitiful. Like he's looking to you for the solution-- neck bared and showing a rare vulnerability.
"You're my hero, Kats," you dote on him. Hands through his hair, scritching at the base, "y'know that right?"
"Damn right."
"And you aren't anywhere near throwing in the towel over this."
His smirk returned, "Damn right."
Bakugou’s neck received more soothing treatment again– making his eyes flutter,
"Because my Lord Explosion has way too many baddies left to murder before he allows anyone get to his getaway driver, right?"
Finally showing signs of his spark back, Bakugou growls his pleasure.
"Y'talking about murder does things to a man, baby."
"Thought it might... I mean every word though. You take such good care of me, Kats. Let me do the same for you sometimes, ok?"
"... Yeah alright," he finally caves easily with tepid palms smoothing over the back of your thighs. Still keeping you close, forehead falling to rest against you, you feel finally content that your presence has helped him.
All your one-sided concerns now settled, you feel glad that your update to Kirishima later will share that Bakugou’s okay– and will likely add in a fair heads-up that he might still be pissy with him come Monday.
After some cursory scratches across his shoulders, you remember to hold out a hand by his eye level. Bakugou hums when he notices it, and raises his hand to hold yours-- only for you to dodge it, and keep it open.
Let me have it, silly.
After checking ‘what on earth you were getting at’, he tilts to see your fingers open again. The blond head of hair at your chest sighs, decides, then takes the lone hearing aid out and returns it into your open palm. With careful depositing, you set it on the counter behind you with the note-to-self to put it back with its mate– and return your hands to yours.
Bakugou centered himself by breathing you in. Once he had you snug in his arms again, he pressed a firm kiss through your shirt, hoping you felt everything he couldn’t say behind a tight throat.
You thought it silly, but with him resting fairly tame right on your chest, you thought you'd try a little enrichment for him:
That stupid song from the pop-up takeaway truck was still stuck in your head, so you started humming it to him.
With how high you stood above him doling out scritches to his temple, you missed how his eyes opened for a flash in recognition of today’s current brainrot love ballad; but you didn't miss how he pressed in closer to you and really listened.

The aftershocks
Sully family x deaf!Omaticaya!reader part 3
Part 1: silent world loud mind
Part 2: hearing the unheard
You start acting a little weird after that night you went swimming and no one fails to pick up on it
Tumblr media
You were frantically trying to get out of the water. The idea that you had heard something had startled you, mostly because Norm had told you that there was no chance you could ever hear again. You hoist yourself onto the flooring outside the marui coughing from some of the water that had entered your lungs. Neteyam had heard your distress and immediately runs out to where you are
“Y/N! What happened” Neteyam says looking at your frantic movements and becoming worried
“nothing Neteyam I’m fine” your tone was harsher than necessary as you ran your hands through your hair trying to get the water out
“You sure?” Neteyam was kind of shocked at the tone of you voice but he didn’t show it
“Yes I’m sure” you push past him and walk into the marui
~The next day~
You and Kiri where hanging out at the beach. she was picking seashell while you were looking at the pool things in the sand as you floated in the water desperately trying to see if the same noise from last night would return
“What is she doing?”
“She’s just looking in the sand”
You had noticed some ripples in the water and looked up
“Did you say something?” You asked confused as to why Ao’nung and his friends had surrounded you
“Are you a freak” Ao’nung said
“He ask if you are a freak”
You sigh getting up from the water “no”
“Are you sure I mean you can’t even hear anything” Ao’nung says in a mocking tone which you couldn’t hear but were able to understand perfectly well because of his facial expressions
From farther away Lo’ak hears all of this and begins to walk towards you
“Hey! Back off fish lips” he says looking in Ao’nungs direction
“Oh look a four fingered freak” Ao’nung smiles sadistically as all of his friend surround Lo’ak, one of them pulling his “baby tail”
“Leave us alone!” You yelled desperately trying to the group of boys away from Lo’ak as Neteyam walked up angrily as his feet stomped in the sand
“You heard what she said…” Neteyams voice is cold as he pushed Ao’nung “…leave them alone”
One of Ao’nungs friends start to say something until Ao’nung pushes him as a way of hushing him as Neteyam continues to tell them to back off. Even though he was still a little upset about yesterday he would still defend you
Ao’nung puts in hands in the air showing that he gives up
“Good..” Neteyam turns to the rest of Ao’nungs minions “and from now on I’m gonna need you to respect Y/N”. One of the minions begins to hiss until Ao’nung cuts him off
You, Lo’ak, and Neteyam begin to walk away until Lo’ak turns around and Neteyam gives him an almost scolding look as Lo’ak starts to showing his hand to Ao’nung and saying things, then suddenly Lo’ak punches Ao’nung in the face… multiple times hard enough to make him fall down. Ao’nung tackled Lo’ak and the two start fighting on the beach shore when Ao’nungs and his friends start to hang up on Lo’ak
Neteyam sighs and starts going to help his brother as you stand there frozen, you knew if the adults found out your friends would be punished but if they didn’t stop now they would have to deal with injuries worse than a few scratches and bruises
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What did I tell you” Jake yells at Neteyam and Lo’ak
“To stay out of trouble sir” Lo’ak mutters looking down at the ground
“It was my fault sir” Neteyam says stepping infront of his little brother
“No it wasn’t, you have to stop taking the blame for this idiot” Jakes says frowning and pacing around
“Ao’nung was picking on Y/N. He called her a freak”
Lo’aks voice was strong and his statement stopped Jakes pacing as his face soften
“Go apologize to him” Jake sighed
“But-” Lo’ak started but his father cut him off “he’s the chiefs son. Understand. I don’t care how you do it just go”
Lo’ak walks away and Jake turns to Neteyam
“What did the others look like”
“Worse sir” Neteyam replied sort of surprised his dad would ask him that
“Good…good” Jake says as he dismisses Neteyam
You were sitting outside the marui your feet dangling in the water. Jake had noticed that your behavior had been off since last night
“What’s the matter Y/N” Jake said after he tapped you on the shoulder so you could look at him and read his lips
“I heard something last night Mr Sully, it was like Eywa herself was calling out to me” you felt crazy saying that, you weren’t supposed to be able to hear anything
“Oh Y/N… I don’t know what to say, Eywa works in mysterious ways” Jake said as he sat down next to you, he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you into a hug. You gave him a sad smile not knowing what else to do or say
☆♪ Talk to me? ( Bakugo x gn!bpd!reader comfort )
♪ ~ this is my first fic ever omg I’m a little nervous but I suffer from bpd and I wanted to write a little fic for anyone else who might need comfort through a split, this is just based off of what it feels like when I’m splitting and what triggers me !! I also wanted to give a little heads up I use the term pretty in here as a gender neutral nickname ^_^
♡Summary: You and Mina are close friends and one day she doesn’t talk much to you causing you to split and shut down, your boyfriend bakugo notices and tries comforting you through it.
Tumblr media
It was your average day at U.A, the day was going by slowly, your teachers lecture echoing through your hollow brain and the words going in and out the other ear. You tapped the eraser of your pencil on the desk trying to entertain yourself but suddenly caught by the deep voice of your teacher, “alright everyone, That’s it for my lecture today.” and as he picked up his papers and set the chalk down on the ledge of the board he began to step out of the room in favor of the next teacher who would be teaching the next lesson, as he left the idle chitchat in the room grew and you eagerly turned toward your best friend Mina who sat closest to you.
“Hey Mina! You should see this-“ before you could even finish your sentence you noticed she was turned around to Kirishima, chatting and giggling with him, so you tried speaking up again “Hey Mina!-“ and to your own surprise you were once again ignored. You sighed and turned around resting your chin in your palm and tapping your eraser back onto the top of your desk, Mina never usually did this to you did you upset her? Maybe you’ve been on her nerves and she needs a break. The thoughts of why she was ignoring you began to weigh you down as you slightly slumped into your chair.
It wasn’t long before the day had passed, you had made multiple attempts to chat with Mina, and even the others but it seemed like you were just invisible to them for some reason. As you gathered your things to head home you noticed a familiar blonde standing beside you, “Something the matter?” he raised his brow at you already noticing your demeanor, you sighed and looked up at him not really in the mood to talk, negative thoughts weighing in on you and draining you like a battery “m’ fine..” you said as you shut your locker and raised your backpack over your shoulder “your lyin’ it’s written all over your face.” He scoffed as he followed you on your way home, it wasn’t uncommon at all for katsuki to spend the evening with you after school sometimes he would even spend the night and the two of you would walk to school together in the morning, you shrugged him off and the two of you walked to your house in comfortable silence.
Whenever you made it home you threw your backpack onto the floor and katsuki followed suit, he watched as you irritatedly pulled out your cellphone and opened the group chat for the Baku-squad and hovered your finger over the leave button, it quickly caught his interest as he spoke up “woah, what’s going on? Did those idiots say something to you?” sitting down beside you on your bed as close to you as he could, “no, I just don’t want to be friends with them anymore, I didn’t like them anyways..” you scoffed leaving the group chat quickly and bakugo looked at you with a shocked look before realizing what was going on. When the two of you started dating you were very open to him about your disorder and how sometimes when someone wouldn’t talk to you you’d split and start spiraling, this wasn’t the first time you had split on one of your friends in the time of you two dating so he knew what to do and how to help you.
“Woah pretty, let’s calm down. Tell me what happened today.” Bakugo said gently grabbing your hand that was picking at your skin angrily in an effort to stop you, “They wouldn’t talk to me at all! I tried to talk to Mina and she completely ignored me, same with Kiri and Denki they all just hate me I didn’t do anything to them!” You said as you furrowed your brows and scoffed, you started angrily rambling to your boyfriend as you spiraled into a hole of negativity and he quickly stopped you, “Just ignore those damn bastards, they get full of themselves and full of shit sometimes that they don’t even realize there are other people around” he said bitterly, he was quite angry that your group of friends would ignore you and make you feel like this. You sighed and held his hand up to your face and rested your cheek in the palm of his warm hand, “maybe I’m being over dramatic, I’m such a crybaby I don’t know why you put up with me..” Katsuki shook his head and scoffed “Quit saying bullshit like that! You ain’t being over dramatic yer just upset, and you ain’t no crybaby!” he said as he gently pulled on your cheeks “Later when you’re feeling better message those assholes and tell them what they did made you upset you hear me? And if they don’t apologize I’ll make em!” He scoffed as he moved a hand away from your face to set off very minimal explosions in his hand causing you to giggle a little, “alright I will I promise” you sighed looking dreamily at your boyfriend.
Despite what everyone thought about katsuki and how loud and mean he could be he was always sweet with you, it wasn’t like that from the start but he grew on you and you grew on him, it was moments like these that you loved so much about him you loved that he cared so passionately in such a violent way, it always cheered you up. As the evening settled closer to night time the two of you had your individual showers and changed into your pjs, bakugo sat on the bed and you were laying on top of him with your head nestled into his neck and his legs wrapped around yours as he ran his fingers through your hair. The whole ordeal with the bakusquad had been settled and you managed to completely forget why you were even upset as you embraced your boyfriend’s warmth and dozed off to sleep.
Neteyam x human!Reader
Tumblr media
an: hello second fic ! the ending is kinda rushed I literally didn’t know what to do rjdjsj
summary: “Can I request some Neteyam x human! reader? Neteyam lived and (y/n) nearly died in the process. When she soon wakes up Neteyam becomes so protective of her?”
warnings: none. maybe angst ? fluffy fluff
word count: 1177
——————
Stupid.
The only word running through Neteyam’s head. How stupid he thought you were. Stupid for risking your life; stupid for taking the bullet aimed for him. And he planned to tell you that. He would not let you off easy; of course, he never did. You had a habit of getting yourself injured; anywhere from small scratches to large gashes, but they were all the same In Neteyam’s eyes. Each enough to make him worried and upset and ensued a scolding, but no matter what he was feeling, he still always tended to your wounds, sneaking salve from his grandmother’s hut and making sure you continued to apply it even after he had left. Except this time, he was not the one caring for you. He wasn’t even allowed to see you until the healers believed you stable. Kiri would give him updates, assuring him you were healing fine, but it did nothing to ease him, not when his last image of you was bloody and gasping, slipping in and out of consciousness, as he dragged your limp body out of the water. It was burned into his mind; the stillness of your face, the lack of breath fogging your mask. It was terrifying. He could feel his heart pounding against his entire body and it was deafening; the chaos around him diminished into a painful ringing in his ear; everyone’s voices had become clogged and far away. All he could focus on was you laying in front of him, barely hanging to the thread of life. It made him sick, how helpless he felt as you were pried out of his arms, being taken away. All of it haunted him, so he distracted himself, rehearsing in his mind everything he would say to you once you were well enough.
Neteyam had no idea how soon that would be or how much time had even passed. Daytime and eclipse were all the same to him. His body was trudging through the motions, carrying him to eat, drink, and sleep. He was just relieved you were alive, grateful to Ewya that she kept you alive, even if he didn’t know if she cared for your kind. But while you were all he could think of, his family was worrying more and more for him. His parents were lost, left with a shell of their son they didn’t recognize. His eyes were sunken and dark, his freckles dim. But everyone was too scared of saying the wrong thing that nothing was ever said, just concerned looks in passing.
One too many days had gone the same, and Kiri had enough. Night came and she laid on her side, staring at the stitching on the walls of their mauri pod, waiting until she heard the snores of each of her parents and siblings, all except for Neteyam’s. She sat herself up and crawled towards him, careful not to bump the toy’s Tuk left scattered on the floor.
“Neteyam.”
No response.
“Neteyam.”
More silence.
Kiri rolled her eyes and sighed, “I know you’re awake. I’m taking you to see y/n.”
Neteyam rolled over and sat up abruptly, the beads in his braids quietly clinking against each other at the sudden movement. “What?”
“Come on,” she pulled at his arm and guided him out of their mauri pod.
“I thought I wasn’t allowed to see her yet?”
“You’re not.”
“Then why are—“
Kiri cut him off, “You’re not yourself. You’ve locked yourself away and you don’t see how worried everyone is. I don’t want to see you sulk like this anymore, so I’m taking you to see her. I want my brother back.”
They continued walking in silence and Neteyam thought about what his sister said. He didn’t realize how much he had shut everyone out; he couldn’t remember the last time he talked to Lo’ak or even played with Tuk. Guilt filled his heart.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
Kiri’s ears flattened slightly and she gave him a soft smile. “You’ve been carrying a lot.”
They arrived at the healing pod you were being kept at. Neteyam had been waiting for this moment, but now that he was here he wasn’t sure he was ready. He stood, staring at the entrance; the air became thick and his heart beat began to increase. He had no idea what he would see when he went in, how bad a shape you were in, or if you were even awake. He turned to Kiri, his eyes seeking comfort and strength in his sister. She nodded and mouthed for him to go on. Reaching out, he lifted the flap up and walked in.
“Neteyam.”
His breath caught in his throat as he saw you, very much awake. He barely made out your shape in the dark room, minuscule light creeping in through the flap reflecting off your mask. Nothing came out of his gaping mouth while he struggled to find words to say. Everything he wanted to tell you, everything he repeated over and over in his mind for days slipped away.
You let out an airy laugh, “I take a bullet for you and you can’t even talk to me.”
Of course you were making a joke out of this; he should’ve expected nothing less, and it was all he needed for everything to come rushing back. He crouched down beside where you lay.
“You skxawng.”
“There it is.”
You stared up at him, eyes locked with his. There was so much hidden in them, so much emotion. You never told him, but his eyes always gave him away, gave away everything he was feeling, contrasting the front he put on. And his eyes knew yours just as well, a pool of colour he could get lost in forever, his favourite colour.
He grabbed your hand, gently tracing patterns into your soft skin, scared he might break you. “You’re so stupid,” he exhaled, “Why would you do that? You could’ve been dead.”
It’s not that you hadn’t thought of the weight of your actions, the very real consequence that could’ve been; you’ve had weeks alone with nothing but your thoughts, but hearing him say it made your heart sink into your stomach. You could’ve died.
“I know.” You intertwined your fingers; his engulfing your hand even with your extra pinky. “I just couldn’t let it be you,” water started brimming your eyes, making everything glossy as you blinked.
“I would’ve brought you back and killed you myself if you died,” he pressed his forehead against your mask. “I don’t care if it would unbalance life.”
You laugh at his extremity, even though there was truth in it. You knew he would, at least he’d definitely try, and if he couldn’t bring you back, he’d never let you rest and scold you in the afterlife, and that would be worse than hell.
“I’m okay. We’re okay,” you smile.
“I’d wipe your tears, but I wouldn’t want you to suffocate. It’d be embarrassing to die like that after getting shot.”
“And you’ve ruined the moment.”
“C’mon! We have to go get Spider!” Lo’ak nodded his head towards the inside of the ship as you cut him free from his restraints.
“What?” you responded, unable to process what he’d just said.
Your older brother behind you, Neteyam, cut off the tie bounding Tuk’s hands with a dagger, and another quick snap further behind told you Ao’nung had just cut off Tsireya’s.
You and your siblings were in the middle of a full blown war.
Besides almost getting crushed by Payakan, getting taken hostage, killing about 5 people trying to save your siblings, and witnessing the deaths of many of your own people, things in your opinion were going great so far.
“C’mon sis, we can’t leave without him!” Lo’ak crouched down, picking up a gun from one of the fallen na’vi soldiers slouched against the railings, blood seeping down their skull.
Your gaze was fixed on the grip of the gun that was firmly clasped in his fingers, stained with red at the bottom. The blood trickled down silently, creating a small pool on the already drenched floor, yet it seemed inconsequential amidst the chaos.
In that brief moment of dread, a warm hand fell on your shoulder, squeezing it reassuringly.
Something similar to fear took over your body, causing you to be unable to take your eyes off your younger brother who looked at you hopefully, while you stood there like a deer caught in headlights.
It wasn’t like you didn’t want to save him. The images of blood spraying all over replayed in your mind, making it hard to focus on anything else.
“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” a comforting voice drifted through the air, pulling you back into reality.
The foreign accent had a calming effect on your senses, a zap of electricity running down your queue.
Whipping your head, you met the eyes of the person who had spoken, the comforting shade of aquamarine looking back at you with such emotion.
Lo’ak rolled his eyes at the sight, a low growl forming in his throat. He never approved of your relationship with the boy, but what could he do about it? He was in love with the man’s sister!
Neteyam sauntered towards your brother, braids waving wildly in the air as they always did.
“I’ll go with you,” he nodded at Lo’ak, ignoring Ao’nung completely as he looked at you, seeking any form of approval.
Your brows knitted together, and you shook your head.
“It’s fine. I’ll go. We all know I’m a better warrior than Neteyam anyways.” you joked, attempting to lift the mood.
“Are you sure?” Neteyam said softly.
“Positive. You should go and help out the other warriors.” you nodded, feeling the comforting warmth of Ao’nung’s hand leave your shoulder.
Looking back at him, you could see the fear and concern etched on your lover's face. He looked so perplexed, a reaction you’d never seen on his face before.
Before you could take a single step, his arms pulled you in for a hug as if he was shielding you from any threat that could harm you.
He didn’t want you to leave.
Lo’ak and Neteyam groaned, looking instead at the ocean, watching the metkayina and the sky people battle for their opposing goals.
Ao’nung leaned in and pressed his forehead against yours.
"Please be careful."
The sound that came from his mouth was barely but a whisper, as if he would choke if he said it any louder.
You smiled, placing a hand on his neck reassuringly.
“I’ll come back to you. I promise.”
As the words left your lips, you waved a farewell to him before going inside the ship, Lo’ak in front of you.
The thumping of your heart echoed in your chest like an empty chamber. You weren’t going to break a promise.
At least,
not this time.
“Lereho!” a guttural, high pitched scream reverberated throughout the forest.
The sleeping creatures lifted their heads up in the sky, ears pointing in all different directions, attempting to make out the source of the scream.
“LEREHO!” a 7-year-old you screamed even louder, tears flowing down your pale face as you looked at the rusty helicopter.
The rusty helicopter which had now trapped your friend inside its worn down metal walls, and he scratched against the door endlessly, trying to get out.
“I- I-” your words were unable to come out, your entire body trembling with fear.
The large metal body was encased in mossy vines that suspended it above the lake, and Eywa knows Lereho couldn’t swim to save his life.
“I’LL GET HELP, LEREHO! PLEASE STAY HERE!” you cried out, praying to the Great Mother he could hear you.
“I PROMISE I’LL GET YOU OUT OF THERE!” you yelled, your voice hoarse and strained, your entire body buckling down with the weight of your words.
You turned back and ran as far as you could, as fast as your legs could take you. Your face was all scrunched up and your eyes were full of tears, partly obscuring your vision.
Branches scratched your body and drew blood from your fresh wounds, but you didn’t care. Guilt overtook your body and put you on autopilot.
If you hadn’t told him to, he wouldn’t have gone in the helicopter with you.
If you hadn’t been stupid, you wouldn’t have closed the door.
If you hadn’t slipped on the vines on your way back to solid ground, the helicopter wouldn’t be creaking slowly, on its way to submerge him fully in the lake.
If you hadn’t been friends with him in the first place, maybe he would’ve been alright right now.
You wiped the water from your eyes and the snot from your nose harshly with your bleeding hands.
By the time you returned with your father, all that was left were the torn apart vines flowing loosely in the wind of the night.
They couldn’t even retrieve his body.
Beads of water welled up at the corners of your eyes as you crouched along the wall, Spider in your sights.
Blinking rapidly to get rid of them, you leapt down with Lo’ak, taking care of the humans surrounding your friend mercilessly.
You screamed as you smashed the last one’s skull along the railing, flipping them into the water, heavy pants leaving your chest as the adrenaline wore off.
“Woah. You alright?” Lo’ak gasped, slightly concerned.
“I’m fine,” you breathed out. “We have to go, now.”
You grabbed a gun from one of the dead soldiers, and not long after you heard the sounds of rapid gunfire hit metal a bit too close to you for your liking.
With your instincts you dove out of the way, grabbing Spider with your free hand and quickly crawling along the floor towards the moonpool, ensuring that Lo’ak was still behind you.
The shots from the gun made the air burn in your lungs, and you coughed vehemently before hiding behind a wall just in front of the moonpool, whispering a quick apology to Spider for being so harsh with him.
“You two go!” you shouted at the two boys behind you, whipping out your gun in an attempt to kill the bastard who was shooting so restlessly at you.
“Are you nuts? We aren’t leaving you!” Lo’ak yelled back, considerably offended you’d think he’d abandon you so easily.
“Just go now! I’ll be fine!” you growled, taking another shot at the recom.
Amidst the deafening sounds of gunfire, you were able to discern two distinct splashes in the water.
Retreating behind the wall for cover, you swiftly reloaded your weapon with the remaining ammunition scattered on the ground.
Taking a deep breath, you braced yourself and emerged once again, determined to make your final shot count.
Ao’nung whipped his head around frantically as he stood on one of the ships purposed for hunting tulkun, all of the previous occupiers…removed.
He looked towards the ship for any possible sign that you were still okay.
He’d witnessed Lo’ak and Spider riding away from the ship on an ilu, but where were you?
His heart beat faster and faster with every shallow breath he desperately took, unable to imagine what had happened to you.
Just before he was about to call his own ilu, he heard a loud splash from the water behind him.
He turned his body, bracing for a surprise attack, but instead, he got a surprise hug.
As your body melded with his, you rested your chin on his shoulder, feeling a calming sense of peace.
At first, his hands trembled as he placed them on your back, taken aback by the sudden embrace.
But gradually, he relaxed into it, a radiant smile gracing his face as he shut his eyes, savouring every point of contact between your bodies, determined to remember what it felt like.
There were so many things he’d wanted to say to you, but only three words left his quivering lips.
“You… came back,” he choked out, even attempting to hug you tighter, before realising that he might have been hurting you- to which he loosened his grip.
You sighed contently, gazing at the water behind him. “I promised.”
Just then, you saw something underneath the ripples of the ocean.
Everything was too fast for him to process.
One second, he was hugging you like it was the last thing he could ever do with you in the world.
The next second, it actually was.
His eyelids whipped wide open as he heard a gunshot, his body hitting the floor in the direction opposite to where he was originally standing.
You threw him out of harm’s way.
The last time he’d ever seen you was with your mouth agape and pupils shrunken into the size of his thumb, as you fell lifelessly backwards into the water with a loud splash.
“NO!” he screamed helplessly as he scrambled up from the floor, his knees scraping against metal as he crawled frantically towards the edge to see if you were alright.
The only thing he could see from the surface of the water was your blood slowly tinting the ocean red. No bubbles. No sign of you resurfacing.
Without hesitation, he plunged into the blood-red ocean, his body slicing through the water with a sense of urgency. As he dove deeper, his limbs thrashed and flailed, propelled by a desperate need to reach you and bring you back to the surface.
His panicked movements grew increasingly frantic as he searched for you, his bloodshot eyes darting around frantically in the murky depths. Every fibre of his being was focused on finding you, but as he scanned the water, he realised with a jolt that you were nowhere to be found.
Determined to keep searching, he pushed himself to swim deeper, his hands and feet churning the water as he scoured the depths for any sign of you.
But as he descended further and further into the abyss, his vision began to blur, and his lungs burned with the need for air.
Despite his physical limitations, he refused to give up, driven by a fierce determination to find you.
All he could see was the trail of your blood, leading him deeper into the unknown.
His fingers outstretched, he tried to reach you, but it was too late.
His lungs burned with a searing pain as he struggled to hold his breath. But he refused to give up, clinging to the hope that he would find you alive and well.
As the seconds ticked by, his chances grew slimmer, and his body began to betray him. His limbs felt heavy and sluggish, and his vision grew hazy with tears.
Despite his efforts, he simply couldn't hold on any longer.
He broke the surface of the water, gasping for air as his heart shattered into a million pieces.
The devastating reality of his failure hit him like a ton of bricks, leaving him reeling with a sense of loss and despair.
A soul-wrenching cry tore through the air.
The sound was so raw and guttural that it felt as if it came from the very depths of the earth itself, carrying with it the weight of a thousand shattered dreams.
It was the kind of cry that would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, a sound that would haunt you long after battle was over.
The cries of the wounded and dying were nothing compared to the sheer agony and despair that his cry conveyed.
The realisation hit him like a ton of bricks - he had lost you forever.
The person he loved most in this world was gone, sacrificed her life to save his. The weight of his grief was so heavy that it felt like a physical burden, crushing him from the inside out.
He wanted to scream, to wail to Eywa, to beg for a chance to take your place.
But he was powerless, reduced to a helpless witness of his own tragedy.
He could feel the weight of his guilt like a physical pain, knowing that you had given your life for his.
Every following moment he had to live without you was a torture, a constant reminder of what he had lost.
He tried to fill the void with his duties, with distractions, with anything that would make the pain go away, but nothing worked.
He would lie awake at night, imagining the pain you felt, the last moments of your life. He pictured you sinking into the cold, dark depths of the ocean, alone and scared, the light fading from your eyes.
It was a pain that he knew would never truly leave him, a wound that would never fully heal.
He felt as if a part of him had died with you, and he knew that he would never be whole again.
They couldn’t retrieve your body. You couldn’t have a proper burial. He couldn’t ever see you again, not even through the spirit tree.
Having to explain what happened to you to your family almost killed him; he could only imagine the pain they felt if he was feeling that way.
He blamed himself. And deep down inside, he knew that they did too.
Fluff, Bakugou x fem reader
Part 10 of the Broken Collection
Tumblr media
How was this even happening?
You stared down into the drawer that wasn’t cooperating. This would be much easier if it could just manifest the straw you suddenly needed. You groaned, setting the cup down for the fourth...fifth time. Ugh, whatever it was. You couldn’t make out the muffled words coming from the other room, but they were probably directed at Kitsune if the steady thumps of tail were any indication.
The cabinet below had more promising options. You finally found a matching set that had a straw that still had a sense of duty...unlike the many others that had the audacity to let you lose them around the city.
You paused at the sound of a much larger thump, but still took a moment to dump the water into the new, hopefully more acceptable, cup choice. You weren’t surprised to find him on the floor when you made it back to the living room. It took an unusual amount of time for him to disentangle his limbs and decide to abandon the attempts to get back on the sofa. Instead, he opted to just roll over and sit on the floor where he’d landed. Thankfully, you had put on less of a show when you’d drunkenly found your way to his place weeks ago.
“How’s it feel to be the number one lightweight?”
“Course I’m number one.” His smile was wide and sure as he looked up at you. He had some nerve being cute right now. Red eyes drifted down to the grenade-shaped tumbler you were holding. “So you did have a straw.”
You couldn’t quite bring yourself to roll your eyes as he snatched the cup, waggling his tongue unsuccessfully a couple times before finally getting everything lined up for optimal hydration. You made sure to wait for him to finish a few gulps before risking distracting him again.
“Pretty sure you would’ve been just fine with the other cup.” He leaned away from you and covered the straw protectively as if you were threatening to take it back.
“It tastes better with a straw.”
“I see.”
“Do you?” He squinted his eyes, either in distrust or because the light was behind you.
“Sure.”
“Hear that? She’s lying again, Kit.”
You ignored him, but scrunched your nose at your dog. You knew her nod was a coincidence and probably more related to watching drops of water trail to the floor from the now sideways cup, but it still felt like another betrayal from the treacherous creature.
It was more or less her fault you were even in this situation. You huffed as she tried to crawl into his lap, quickly deciding she was completely to blame for the direction the evening had taken. She really had no business growing a habit for midnight walks due to your inconsistent schedule. She had some nerve tricking you to walk the opposite end of the park than usual. She definitely had some nerve when she yanked the leash out of your grip for the first time in her entire fucking life. She, without a doubt, acted with intent when she kept leading you towards a scent she knew. She was also unapologetically pleased as fuck when she hopped up onto a bench next to an unnecessarily attractive blonde that was cuddling a phone, but who didn’t seem to have any intention of answering the loud voice coming from it. A voice you recognized. You stepped closer, grabbing the phone to see a running face time call with a very stressed Red Riot on the screen.
“Oh thank fuck...wait, why are you-shit it doesn’t matter. Where the hell is he?”
“Past the river by my apartment.”
“How the-idiot! Did you use your fucking quirk to ditch us?”
You felt a similar level of rage to what Kiri was now trying to direct toward the hero ignoring him. Bakugou knew better than to use his quirk to travel off the clock...especially when he was this fucking trashed. Although, you weren’t positive if he’d ever been this trashed. He mumbled something that sounded like “too many wrong fucking people” into Kitsune’s fur as he continued to bury himself into her neck.
“Fuck…how the hell did you let him get this drunk?”
“Okay, that is actually not my fault. I didn’t know Kaminari and Sero gave him a shot every time I went to dance with Mina.”
“They went a little fuckin’ far this time.”
“Well...those two are taken care of already.” He shifted the screen to show Mina still towering over the culprits, attempting some form of re-education involving bops on the head and a tone you recognized but had, thankfully, never been on the receiving end of.
“It’ll be a while before I can get over there for him.” The blonde was now almost exclusively being held upright by your dog. He was at least awake enough to blink his eyes at you slowly as he now resisted sleep. You turned at a cough from your palm, pulling your gaze back to the phone. “You good to stay with him?”
“No.”
“Oh...um, well I just thought-”
“No, I mean he can just sleep it off at my place. You seem to have your hands full and I’m not close to—your place.” Of course you weren’t. When you moved last year, you had made sure of it. He lived a few floors below Bakugou. A flash of pink covered the screen as Mina took the phone.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay with...” She looked over her shoulder to aim a glare at the men behind her before turning back to you. “Are you sure you’ll be okay?”
“Yea, I kinda owe him one right?”
As you watched the water bottle roll under your vintage couch and a distraught Dynamight try to dive after it, nearly toppling the entire sofa, and your dog take a similar position with her shoulders down, ass up, paws outstretched trying to help pounce what he was after...you were realizing how very wrong you had been. Your impromptu sleepover had been awkward, sure, but it didn’t seem to be a fair trade for the situation you were now taking part of. You walked past both of them, around to the wall that the bottle was resting against. You handed it to the outstretched calloused hands. He frowned at the unsatisfying sounds coming from the straw as he took a sip. He sighed a bit longer than anyone would need to before turning back to the wide brown eyes of Kit.
“She drank it.”
You snatched the cup back, and moved for the kitchen for water and a towel for whatever puddles were now under your sofa. You really hoped he'd fall asleep soon.
Aonung x Sully!reader
reader is an amazing weaver And it’s Aonung’s of age ceremony and he asks Y/N for help with his ceremonial clothing cause he waited too long to make it and they stay up all night together making it…
~~~
It was late at night, you were drifting in and out of sleep in your separate marui because you finished your off age ceremony weeks ago, and you were finally getting used to being by yourself.
Obviously you missed you family, but it’s not like you won’t see them everyday. Lo’ak and Neteyam left months ago and that left you Kiri and Tuk.. well now just Kiri and Tuk.
Spending time in the Metkayina you got aquatinted to many of the people, a lot of them knowing you due to your amazing craftsmanship and skill in weaving.
Your mother calls it a gift from Eywa due to how diligent and fast you can get even the most difficult patterns down.
~~~
Being half way asleep you hear steps outside of your mauri. Ears perking up to the sound you grumble a bit.
Someone knocks on the outside whispering your name
“Y/N..? Hey wake up”
You groan recognizing the source of the voice.
“Go away Aonung, I’m trying to sleep.”
The boy rolled his eyes and let out a huff.
“Listen, I really need your help right now, so can you please get up?”
The genuine sound in his tone took you aback, maybe he really was in trouble and could use some help.
You raise up to see him standing in the middle of your Mauri, rubbing your eyes you yawn
“So what do you need help with?”
He seemed to liven up a bit at your willingness to assist him.
“Well.. tomorrow is my coming of age ceremony and.. I waited to long to make my ceremonial clothing.”
You deadpanned turning to lay back down
“Wait wait! Y/N I really need you to do this for me, it would be a dishonor to have not made them, I just need this one favor then I’ll leave you alone for like a week, promise”
You let out an exasperated grumble, but him not bothering you for that long sounded like heaven, plus you were lonely in your pod. Having company when you were already struggling to sleep doesn’t sound too bad.
“..mm fine”
He put on a pleased smile and set the materials next to you.
“We’re going to make an armband, a necklace, and a loincloth” he looked pleased with himself and the materials he gathered.
“Alright. Let’s get started”
You take the material
“I’ll make the jewelry pieces, you work on the loincloth.”
He nodded in agreement
~~~
It’s been hours. You both were dying of exhaustion. Weaving the materials was a lot more difficult in this state. Things that you could make easily in 30 minutes are now taking an hour do. Aonung wasn’t much help either, he didn’t really know what he was doing. You have had to stop and help him multiple times. Though you can be too hard on him, there is a lot that goes into these pieces, you were just upset he started so late.
“Why did you not start until today? Why wait so long?” You brought it up and we’re met with his eyes, he looked embarrassed to admit the reason.
“I thought this would be the easy part, I needed to gather the materials which seemed harder, I thought I could finish in a day, but… as you can see” he smirked at you pointing out the situation you both were in.
You rolled your eyes, going back working on the pieces.
~~~
You were finally done. Your fingers stung and your head throbbed. Aonung finished an hour ago and passed out on the floor, he tried helping but he ended up not being able to make it, which left it up to you.
You looked down at him, seeing how peaceful he looked, and warm.
You were used to cuddling with Tuk when you slept, she used to get scared at night so she’s always come to you for reassurance, and it became a habit of her to fall alseep in your arms.
The thought of being next to him made your heart race, but you quickly disregarded the thought,
How could you think of something like that. Especially with him. He was rude, cocky, mean, well you did like his smile, and his hair was nice, his body was very toned….
You sighed knowing that it was your tired drunken state making you think like this. You lay down closing your eye drifting away.
~~~~
30 minutes after you feel asleep, it wasn’t a good sleep though. You felt restless and anxious, something wasn’t right, you missed having your family around you, having someone close. Suddenly you feel something or rather someone against your backside and swing their arm around you.
In your state of tiredness you couldn’t comprehend what was happening but it was something that you were used to when you lived at home, you assumed it was Tuk not realizing she wasn’t there.
You drifted off again.
~~
Waking up you noticed a rather large hand covering your torso
You freeze realizing who it is and start to panic. Slowly turning you see that he is still asleep
You let out a relived sigh, but he opens his eyes, your mouth slightly agape when you see this.
“You move a lot in your sleep, you looked really uncomfortable. But you slept just fine in my arms hm?” He was smirking down at you
You lightly pushed him back sitting up.
“Don’t Aonung.” You were embarrassed, but in all honesty that was the best sleep you had since you got here.
“Well, say that it’s me repaying you for your help.. if you ever need me back here I’ll do this little sleep thing with you.” He sounded kinda genuine, you didn’t know how to feel. The guy that was kinda a pain in your side but also very protective, confident, amazing on the eyes… your mind trailed off again while staring down at him.
“Like what you see?” He was of course looking back at you, but his comment made you snap out of the trance.
You roll your eyes
“Whatever.. go get ready for your Ceremony. You have a big day today, so go.”
Your words were not harsh and you didn’t shoot down his idea, so he took that as a maybe to his suggestion.
~~~
Him leaving the mauri he wave and thanked you again “Thank you yawne” with that he left leaving you speechless.
The Olo’eyktan’s son called you yawne.
You, not even originally from this village, pretty average.. you thought there was plenty of other women in this village that could suite the requirements of his mate… but you? Obviously you’ve thought of the possibility, but your relationship with him was kinda off. Seeing him almost daily when you talked to each other it was like bickering, your friends like to say you both sound like an old married couple. You’d always find him catching glimpses of you, when you did he’d always smirk or pretend like he wasn’t. You did the same though, mapping out his features, memorizing the patterns on his skin… but that doesn’t mean you like each other.. right?
~~~~
-mini time skip-
The ceremony was amazing, the pieces you made suited him very well and they looked great on him, and he got quite the few compliments from them.
After there was a party to celebrate. You were by kiri, talking to her about ewya knows what when a guy from the village comes up to you.
“Hello Y/N” You know him as Nash’vi, recently he has been trying to talk to you more and more but in the past Kiri has said that he’d pick on and never apologized and makes her uncomfortable
“Hello..?” You’re used to him coming up to you from time to time but unless he apologized or owned up to his mistake, you would keep conversation short.
“I was wondering if you wanted to dance?” At this point Kiri had left, leaving the two of you alone
“Oh I don’t know I’m not really-“ you were cut off by someone wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
“Sorry but she already agreed to dance with me.” It was Aonung, your saving grace. You gave him a thankful look and Nash’vi walked away.
“Tsk” he looked aggravated at the boy walking away. You squeezed his hand catching his attention.
“So, we’re dancing now?” You gave him a smug look that he’s usually give you.
Now it’s his turn to roll his eyes
“Yeah, you know you want to.” You sighed smiling.
“Maybe I do?” With that he took your hand and lead you to the dance circle.
You both danced till you were tired and your feet burned. By the end of the party you could barley walk.
~~~
Going back to your mauri, Aonung offered to take you back, which you agreed.
You were leaning against him while he semi-held you up.
“Are we even now” he broke the comfortable silence. “Hm? What do you mean?” You looked up at him and he paused for a second, getting caught in them.
He thought about it for a second “..never mind I’d spend my whole life repaying you if I had the chance.” Again his words got you and your face started heating up.
“Y/N… may I court you?” Your skin was a light purple hue and you didn’t know what to say to his forwardness. He really did liked you.
You think about his request for a second.
“No” instantly he looked disheartened, but you weren’t finished. “No courting Ma’Aonung I’d love be your mate for life.. I see you.”
Now his face was heated, looking down at you he put his forehead to yours
“I see you Y/N”
With that you leaned into each other closing the space, and kissed.
I awoke bright and early along with the Sully family. 'Teyam and I said goodbye to my mother with her of course not sparing me the kisses. Even Neteyam got smothered in some. This trip was originally supposed to be us two but it quickly turned into a family trip. Was Neteyam happy about that? Nope. Not one bit but he eventually got over it. I on the other hand was excited regardless I never traveled that far before.
Travels like that were only meant for the traders of the clan. “Are you sure you packed everything?” I heard Reya ask as we approached the others by the ikran. “Of course I did! I even packed extra for you.” Lo’ak answered back while giving his ikran a pet. She was tagging along too her mother insisted it was the right thing to do and Lo’ak didn’t want to leave her alone.
“Why do I have the feeling they will be bickering the whole travel?” Neteyam whispered in my ear as we approached his ikran. I chuckled and looked up at him. “ because it’s highly likely that it’s going to happen, but I’m sure if you fly fast enough we won’t hear it.” I winked at him causing him to smirk at me. He leaned down and kissed my lips.
I felt his hand caress my face as he deepened it. “Ma teyam did you drink the tea this morning?” I asked in between kisses. He pulled apart resting his forehead on mine. “Yeah…I did…maybe we should have made this trip sooner.” He said in a worried tone.
I tossed the items my mom requested for me to bring on his ikran and cupped his face. “You'll be fine… if you feel like you need to take a break do it. Don’t push yourself harder than you need to.” He nodded his head placing one last kiss on my lips.
“OK, love birds, are you guys done sucking face so we can fly out?” I heard Jake call out as he finished loading everything up. I heard Neteyam groan pulling away fully reaching to secure the sack I placed on top.
I chuckled and quickly placed my hand on his. gesturing for him to check if the saddle and everything else were secured. I looked over at Kiri as she talked with Spider who sat in front of her. I still have yet to have a proper conversation with him… every time I try to it’s like he avoids me as if I were ill.  I shook my head turning back to the ikran that was staring me down. I gave him a pat on the head only for him to blow air through his nose at me nudging while against my hand. “ you ready for the ride big guy?” His face changed making me raise a brow confused by his reaction, but he quickly licked a long strip on my cheek. I groaned and patted his head.
“Yup-yup, I love you too.” I walked off wiping all the slobber away and shook my head that dude needs to work on expressing his feelings in another way. I climbed on top and sat towards the front in my normal spot. I can’t believe I would be going to the forest…. Let alone meeting his grandmother. I felt his eyes lingering from behind me causing me to look and sure enough he was.
We didn’t have much time and every second we spent here the less time we had to make it there before his rut. “OK, is everyone ready?” I asked shaking the worriedness from my voice. I gestured to 'Teyam to get on and he followed. “All set!” Jake called out. Before I could even reply back I felt 'Teyam wrap his arm around me tightly inching closer to me. “You know the drill hold on tight.” I gripped the leather strap and he took flight.
I gasped feeling the wind rush past my face as the ikran screeched out. No matter how many times I fly with him it never gets old.
Jake took his position leading us in the front while Neteyam followed closely behind. Ever so often I could hear their voices communicating their next move or to ask questions. The technology was all new to me. Neteyam didn’t wear the device often but I guess since we are going to the forest it’s necessary.
I wonder if they use it because you can’t hear anyone when flying and it’s not like us, the Metkayina, where we have sign language….
My mind was filled with so many questions. Sure I’ve wondered how different clans lived their life but it just dawned upon me that the Omaticaya use many forms of human technology…
My mind was like this for hours new thoughts popped in. Questioning many different things it wasn’t until I felt a drastic shift in our direction that I realized we were making our first stop.
He landed the ikran and got off. Holding a hand out to assist me, I smiled and thanked him with a kiss causing him to smirk.
“Gosh, I have to pee!” I hear Reya say as she practically runs off somewhere. I chuckled and looked over to Kiri and Spider. I locked eyes with Spider and I saw nothing but fear in his eyes. Even though I was waving and smiling at the pair. I bit my lip and turned back to Neteyam who was looking at me with a confused face.
“What's wrong?” He asked I shook my head reaching for the snack bag and pulling out some dried fish. “It's nothing.” I looked up and smiled at him only for him to caress my cheek. He leaned down moving closer to my lips, when I suddenly I heard a crunch. I opened my eyes to find this man chewing on my damn fish.
“You little-“ he abruptly kissed my lips and started running away. “ I’m gonna get you once we get to the forest, you fish thief!” I yelled out. I huffed and ate the remains fish in my hand and walked over to Lo’ak who was stretching his legs out.
“How was the ride so far?” I asked he scoffed and smirked. “ I’m sure you can guess what it was like Luaewe.” I chuckled and shook my head.
“Well, it’s almost eclipse she will go to sleep soon, and the crankiness will wear off.” He smiled slightly and looked away for a short moment. “ I don’t suppose you have something that will help with nausea?” I smiled and patted his shoulder.
“And who would I be if I wasn’t prepared for everyone? Come I’ll give you a couple of things to give her.” He let out a sigh of relief and quickly walked over with me.
I undid the knot on the satchel that held all my medicine and took out some candy I made. “These should help.” He raised a brow. “You sure, because it just looks like candy to me.”
I chuckled. “It is candy, I made it. I figured we wouldn’t have time to sit and brew tea and all that extra stuff…well you guys might but Neteyam and I don’t.”
He hummed.” You know that’s a really smart idea. I never seen something like this.” I smiled and thanked him. He looked off again and scratched the back of his head causing me to raise my brow.
Is there something else wrong? Why is he acting like this? Normally he’s cracking jokes or goofing around or something. “OK, what's going on? This.” I moved my hands in a circular motion. “ is making me worried.”
“ I- shit…. You know this is really awkward to talk about especially considering you’re my brother's mate and now my sister...” I huffed and placed my hands on my hips.  What the hell is he trying to say? And why is it so hard? “Lo'ak?” He looked at me directly. “ Just say it.”
I chuckled, causing him to smile. “How did you know you were in love… what did it feel like?” I blinked slowly, completely stunned by the question.
“Wow ok, I wasn’t expecting that um…. Well ha….At first, I was extremely conflicted due to some stuff that happened in my past… I don’t think there was a specific incident that made me love him, it was really everything combined. Like sure when you like someone you feel a pull or whatever but every second I wasn’t with him felt emptiness… when he held me even at the most awkward times.” I chuckled and looked off into the distance. “ It's like this warmth engulfed me and I’m not talking about body heat. I could literally feel his love. I don’t know, it's hard to explain but when you know you know.”
I looked back at him only to find him in a transfixed state. As if he were thinking really hard. It wasn’t until Reya called out to him that he snapped out of it. We don’t have deep conversations together but I could tell he was going through something.
I felt arms wrap around me from the back and I smiled leaning into his chest. He placed a kiss on my forehead and hummed. “ Where did you run off to fish stealer?” He looked down and chuckled.
“ I had to handle some business before we headed back out.” I raised a brow in confusion. I mean if he had to use the bathroom he could of ju- ooooooooh. I turned around and he tilted his head.
“ Why didn’t you ask? I would've helped.” I said lowly. He smiled and gently grazed his thumb against my cheek. “Ma orae if I did that I definitely would have not been able to hold back and would have pushed myself into an early rut.” I pouted but accepted his words. That’s the last thing either of us want. “You're right.....well, did you at least get the satisfaction you needed?” He laughed out and gently ran his hands up and down my back only for him to firmly grasp my ass making me gasp out in shock. “‘'Teyam, your family is right there!” I whispered, yelled, looking around quickly to make sure no one was watching
He lowered his face to my ear and playfully nipped it.“Shh, it's not like they would notice.” Of course they would you’re literally gripping my ass in broad daylight gosh I hope Tuk isn’t looking over here!
“It was enough, but I would have preferred that tight little pussy you have.” I playfully swatted his arm causing him to chuckle moving his head away. “You can be touchy all you want but you better keep that mouth in check!” I pointed my finger at him and furrowed my brows.
“OK, I’ll keep it in check. Wouldn’t want to accidentally turn you on, or we would be stuck here for days and I probably would end up with a broken arm again.”
Too late for that ‘'Teyam, and I’m sure he can tell because that damn smirk on his face is staying put. He leaned down kissing my lips. I felt his hands starting to grope my ass as he tried to deepen the kiss. I pulled away quickly and pushed his chest away. He looked at me as if I had betrayed him but quickly came back to his senses. “Shit, I’m sorry.” He pulled back fully and let out a frustrated sigh.
I shook my head and gave his arm a squeeze. “It's okay, that’s why I’m here to keep you in check.” I said trying to lighten the mood, he let out a soft chuckle and nodded his head. “We should head back out. I’m not sure if everyone else is ready but we gotta go.” He said while looking around.
He pressed his fingers on the device and spoke. “Me and Luaewe are gonna head out first.”  I watched as Jake popped his head up from whatever he was doing. “OK, we will meet at the third stop.”
I reached back into the back and took out another piece of dried fish. I was just standing there watching them both communicate but I had no clue what they were saying. I felt Neteyam’s hand graze my lower back.
I turn away from the bag making sure to close it and look up while taking a bite of the fish. He chuckled and leaned down. I instinctively moved away having a feeling he would take another bite from me but he held me in place and kissed my forehead.
“Come on, my pretty girl it’s time to go.” Heat suddenly rose to my face causing me to look away. But I quickly grabbed the saddle and hopped up. He positioned himself behind me swiftly connecting his kuru. He wrapped his arm around my midsection and before I knew it we were off in the air again.
I have no clue when the next stop will be maybe hours from now well into Eclipse. I bit my lip feeling him reposition himself behind me as we leveled out in the air. Gosh, this was going to be a difficult ride. I mean I knew it was but shit his fucking dick is pressed up against my ass and it’s taking everything in me not to reach back and grab it.
But the last thing I want is for us to crash into the ocean……this is gonna be a long trip.
-
“OK, we will camp here for tonight leave out early morning and meet up with everyone at the third stop.” I hum as he helps me back off the ikran.
“How many more stops till we get there?” He walked over to the bags and took some off. “maybe two more, it all depends on the weather really.”
I smile and fold my hands together. That’s awesome we’ll I’m sure the weather won-“ the sound of thunder crashed interrupting me. “Well shit.” He chuckled as I looked up to see if there were any rain clouds.
I quickly walked over to him and took some of the bags. “Will those be alright in the rain I’m not sure how your material holds up?” We moved under a tree and set everything down. “Yeah, it's made out of leather and we waterproofed it…. It would be ideal if we found a cave if it’s going to rain but we will have to make do with this tree.” He said fiddling with something in the bags. I tried to help but he told me to just sit so I did.
If I knew one thing about Neteyam it’s that if he tells you he’s got it and doesn’t need help he doesn’t. Well until you hear cursing or a loud noise. I watched as he strung up the material that would keep us dry.
I shook my head subtly walking back over to him and went into the bag taking out the blanket we would sleep on. I heard his playful scoff from behind me and I smiled. He should have known I wouldn’t stay put. I jolted up feeling a sudden wetness on my back. “Looks like we landed just in time.” He said while quietly moving the other bags under the material. I hummed and sat down watching the rain hit the sand. “ I should have known not to jinx the weather.” I lightly chuckle as I feel him pull me closer and wrap his arms around my waist.
“It's fine, at least we get to enjoy the rain together…. You know I just realized this is the first time since mating  we will sleep alone.” I smiled and rested my head against his chest.
“You're right… it’s weird not having Tuk trying to infiltrate our cuddle time or my mom waking us up.” I shook my head. I’ll never forget the day when Neteyam and I were about to have our afternoon nap. Anyone walking by would think we were about to have sex with how intense we kiss before we sleep.
But that didn’t matter to Tuk. She ran into our area and jumped on us complaining how it was unfair we didn’t spend time with her as much as we do with each other.
“Mhm, we are finally alone. Maybe when we get back our marui will be finished hopefully not though. It’s my duty- well back in my clan once mated the male or one who initiated creates the hammock or   marui as you guys call it.”
I raised a brow confused do they not sleep in marui’s like us. “ wait so how do you guys sleep?”
“ in hammocks. There are individual ones, then ones for couples, and lastly the family ones but after moving to the mountains because of the war… we had to set up tents you can still sleep in the hammocks inside or sleep on the floor…. It’s kinda complicated you’ll see when we get there.” I hummed and moved forward reaching for some fruit.
“ I’m excited especially since you guys really talk up the forest.” He chuckled while placing a kiss on top of my head.
“ because it deserves to be talked up!” He held his hand out and I placed some of the fruit in his hand willingly. “ you think Sa'nok will make some porridge for me?” He let out a laugh and I looked up with a serious face. “ I’m serious! You said it was better so now that I’ll be there I can’t leave without tasting it!”
“You'll get your porridge don’t worry… and the other delicious foods,” I closed my eyes and hummed. That’s another thing I had no clue about. The types of food they ate…
I felt his face dip against my neck lightly nipping at my skin. “Why do you have to smell so good ma Orae?” He grunted against me. I bit my lip feeling his dick press against my back. “ I don’t know why this time around is so hard for me but shit!” I felt him squeeze my hips trying to lift me up but continued to restrain himself.
“Let me help you-“ I said trying to turn around he lowly hissed warning me to stay put. “Luaewe, you know we can’t.” He strained.
“But it’s hurting you! I can’t stand seeing you this way, 'Teyam. You don’t have to put it in. I can jerk you off or you can put it in between my legs.”
He nipped my neck again as his hand slid around to the front forcefully cupping my pussy. My breath shuddered at his fingers grazing my clothed clit.
He let out a deep chuckle against the back of my neck but cursed as I touched his thigh. I was still wet from earlier. It’s probably what’s driving him to behave like this. Gosh, I feel so bad! And the fact that I can’t even help. “My hand isn’t even fully touching your pussy and I can feel how wet it is.”
He playfully tapped against my clit causing me to jolt back in surprise. “What I would do to be inside you right now… feeling that tight hole squeeze me as I fill you up with my cum.”  I let out a whimper as he continued to speak in my ear.
Fuck I don’t remember him talking this dirty before. I let a moan slip from my mouth and I could feel him smirk against me. “But this will have to do. Lay down for me sweetie.” He patted my thighs letting me know what he decided and I followed his instructions.
I laid down on my side with my thighs pressed together looking back waiting for him to move closer to me. He looked at my ass hungrily grabbing it with his hand. Even with hands as big as his some of it flowed out between his fingers.
He chuckled lowly moving his hands up my hips speedily undoing my tweng. His chest pressed up against my back causing me to lean into him. He dipped his face back into the crevice of my neck and let out a deep growl. “You smell so good.” His fingers found their way to my folds massaging my entrance. I let out an airy moan reaching back to hold his forearm. “So wet for me. Fuck I just want to be in you!”
You and me both! “Please?” I let go of his arm reaching back further for his cock that was pressed between my ass. “ I don’t want your fingers. Put it between my legs ''Teyam.” I gave up trying not to sound desperate right now. I wanted my mate and I couldn’t even have him the way I wanted.
He moaned as I gripped the base of his cock as I lifted my leg up slightly. “mmmm.” I bit back my moan as I rolled my hips back into him. Setting him in place nestled snugly between my folds.  He forcefully grabbed my face detaching his lips from my now abused neck and latching them onto my lips.
He started moving slowly at first. Almost antagonizingly slow. Even in his horny pre-rut filled brain he still had it in him to torture me. But that all came to an end very quickly. His hand caressed my body spending extra time on my breast. When suddenly he sped up out of nowhere causing me to jolt forward with the increase in stimulation.
“ ssshit!” I moaned out while gripping his arm once again as he pulled me back holding me still. “I’m not even in you and you’re running?” He scoffed “How is my mate supposed to tend to me when she can’t even take my cock rubbing up against their tight little pussy huh?”
He lowered his hand to my clit rubbing it ferociously. I gasped, feeling an orgasm fast approaching but he switched up the pace on purpose. “Please please please please please-“ I choked out begging for him to make me cum but he refused. He pulled his hand away gripping my breast again.
“Fuck, I love these! And your fucking ass. I wonder how big they’ll get when you swell with my child.”  It’s just his pre-rut talking. It’s just his pre-rut talking. I chanted to myself trying to rationalize his words. He leaned down kissing me once again quickly deepening it. “Please let me cum.” I begged against his lips.
He smirked moving to my ear. “You wanna cum? Yet my cock isn’t in you? You think I’ll let you do that?” I whined getting frustrated with this game! “All you have to do is-“
“Just fuck me already damn it!”  I shouted out fed up with all this teasing and non fucking. Maybe I’m out of my mind maybe I’m just fucking horny but if he cheats me out of another orgasm I will lose it!
I felt him smirk pulling back slightly and slowly pushing into me. “Yes yes yes yes!” I chanted as the swell of his cock stretched me. His lustful moans filled my ears as he settled deeply into me. I gasped, feeling our Kuru’s connection. I didn’t even feel him touch mine.
He moved slowly trying not to hurt me but he could tell I was fine and quickly picked up pace. The sounds of our skin hitting and the sound of my squelching pussy overpowered the downpour that was upon us. Thank Eywa we were alone or else this would be an embarrassing thing to happen with everyone there.  Though his speed picked up his strokes were deep and with the curve of his cock it almost felt like it was intentional.
“T- 'Teyam, you're too deep!”  His hand went back to my breast rolling my nipple in between his fingertips. I moaned out arching my back from the new stimulation. He chuckled sinisterly knowing exactly what he was doing.
“You're mine.” He nipped my ear with his teeth “If your breasts are this sensitive now just imagine what they’d feel like full of milk.” His stroke grew deeper, more aggressive. I cried out feeling him grow larger. How is that even possible? “Fuck ‘'Teyam please you’re too-“
He growled tightening his hold on me refusing to let go. “ I’m gonna fucking breed you! I’m gonna get you pregnant muntxate.” My pussy clenched vigorously around him causing him to chuckle. “You like that huh? You like when I say I’m gonna get you pregnant hm?”
His hand moved to my belly causing me to gasp. “ I’m gonna love watching you waddle around the village parading that round belly. Having it be a physical example of what I did to you.”  He said while caressing my belly as if a bump were already there
He bit down onto my shoulder pushing me right over the edge. He held me tight as a scream of pure pleasure ripped through my throat. My body convulsed from how intense the orgasm hit me. But despite how forceful it was he continued to rut into me as his knot began to swell. I couldn't help but get turned on even more. Knowing the risk of us already performing tsaheylu. If he were to knot me, I would for sure get pregnant.
He bit down harder as his cock twitched inside of me spurting his hot cum against my cervix. I can only imagine what it feels like to be stuffed with his knot.
I reached placing my hand on his thigh and rubbing it as he came down from his high. His soft lips peppered my neck with kisses causing me to smile. “Fuck.” He breathed out, “I- I'm sorry, my love…… I got carried away shit.” I shook my head while attempting to look back.
“It's okay, you're alright right?”
“Mhm,” he said lowly while dipping his face in my neck still trying to calm his breathing.  I reached back brushing the braids out of his face. “Then everything is fine and you feel relieved no?” He nodded his head and I smiled.
“Then there’s no need to worry ‘'Teyam.”I tried to pull away to fully check out his arm but instead, he tightened his hold around my waist. I chuckled while tapping his hand.
“Alright big guy, let me go I need to properly check your arm.” He groaned and I couldn’t help but let out a little laugh at his antics.  But my laughter was quickly replaced by a shudder of my breath as he pulled out of me causing the cum to rush out of me.
“Gosh!” It felt almost erotic feeling the warmth of his seed run out of me and onto my inner thigh. I looked back to see his glistening cock slowly relax and knot fully deflate. I sat up with him following suit and reached for his arm.
Unlike Ronal, I wouldn’t be able to tell the healing status when most of it had healed already but I can’t tell if it’s broken. I felt around for anything out of place and listened to him for any small sounds to slip from him. But there was nothing everything was fine. I looked up and smiled while letting his arm down, “Nothing is broken.” I said softly
He reached up to caress my face and pulled me in for a kiss. “Thank you.” I giggled against his lips and patted his thigh.
“It’s my duty.” I squealed as he pulled me into his lap and laid down. “ ‘Teyam! We have to wash up.” I whined only for him to shush me.
I let out a groan and laid my head on his chest accepting defeat. His cum is gonna get all crusty! “You're gonna be the one scrubbing your cum off of me!” Laughter erupted from his chest
He cupped my ass while sitting back up. Good because I didn’t want to deal with that in the morning. “You just won’t let me enjoy my muntxate huh?” He said while standing up still holding onto me.
“You must want a crusted-up muntxate then if you thought I would just let you let me lay there! Skin as smooth as mine takes care!” He shook his head playfully and scoffed.
 I felt him playfully tap my ass, “alright, let's make it quick then”. He looked out from under the material keeping us dry and hummed. “It looks like the rain slowed down but we should still make it quick.
“Are you gonna put me down?” I asked while tilting my head he smirked. “No, this is payment for not letting me lay down with you.” I groaned playfully but I enjoyed it when he carried me. To him, I practically weighed nothing. I leaned that quickly from how many times he scooped me up and placed me in his lap.
I smiled and shook my head as I pushed my face into his neck. “Nga yawne lu oer“
“ I love you too,” he says.  I tried to shove my face deeper and he chuckled. The rest of the night was spent with us bathing and playing around in the water longer than we should have but we eventually got out and went back to ‘camp’ as Neteyam called it.
I was cuddled up against his warm chest with his arms wrapped around me. I listened to his heartbeat while the sounds of light rainfall could be heard in the back. I gasped while closing my eyes feeling the connection of our kurus.
His hand grazed my back as he placed a kiss on my forehead. “Sleep Ma Oare, I’m not going anywhere.”  He said in a low tired voice. I continued to listen as the sound of his heart beating turned into a trance….
Freedom -Part 3
Tumblr media
Pairing- Sully family x niece!reader
WC- 2,005
Genre- fluff, maybe a little bit of angst?
Warnings- siblings being siblings, lots of hate on Spider, the whole family are sassy 😭
A/n- Hiii! I had to half this because it was getting to long so there is going to be a part 2 to part 3 😂 ALSO I just want to say thank you for everyone liking this! And I’m sorry that I haven’t reply to those who messaged! I would but every time I do my other account shows and says that I written it from that one, but thank you to those who have messaged saying that they want to be tagged and that they like the story so far!
Quick info- Y/n- 12 years old, Spider- 11 years old, Neteyam- 10 years old, Kiri- 9 years old, Lo’ak- 9 years old, Tuk- 3 years old.
Tumblr media
Waking up slowly, y/n heard the wild animals out in the forest and in the sky, she felt the wind brush across her bear arms and legs, she also felt the heavy pressure of her brother, Neteyam, leg across her stomach as he snored still peacefully sleeping, and also heard a small high pitched voice right next to them.
“Y/n! Neteyam!”
She felt small hands grip onto her body, pushing her every so often as they switched between her and her brother.
“Leave me alone.” She muttered under her breath, turning on her side shooing the person away, as well as pushing her brother off of her, to which he grunted as his foot harshly fell on the floor. She heard the person whine, smacking her arm slightly as they sat back down.
“Here, watch this.” She heard another voice whisper.
It was silent after that, small foot steps running out of their family hut. Finally the hut returned back to it’s peaceful state, no screaming kids, no fights, just the wind, waterfalls, and the animals she would hear every so often.
Peace and quiet.
Y/n finally felt herself drift off back to sleep, that was until she felt cold water splash onto her face. She gasped as she sat up, eyes locking onto Lo’ak and Kiri, holding a wooden bowl between them. Not only did the water splash her but her brother that laid next to her.
“Lo’ak.” Neteyam hissed out.
“Run.” Mumbled Kiri.
“Tsk, skxawngs.” Y/n said under her breath, her two younger siblings running out of the hut screaming and laughing as their older brother ran after them, dodging their mother, who was holding a sleepy Tuktirey on her hip, on the way out of the hut.
“What is happening?” Asked Netyiri, stroking Tuk’s hair as she walked further into their family hut.
“Lo’ak and Kiri are just being Lo’ak and Kiri.” She replied wiping the remaining water off of her face. Netyiri scoffed, looking towards the direction of where her children ran off toward.
“You should follow after them.” She stated, sitting down and placing Tuk in front of her, going through her braids, undoing some and re-braiding it to make them neater as her hair kept growing at unimaginable speed.
“But why? They are fine going by themselves now!”
Netyiri tutted as she looked up, narrowing her eyes at y/n as if daring her to try and challenge her.
Y/n groaned, dramatically falling to her side.
“They want to meet with the stray cat, and I don’t trust them alone together.” Netyiri said, continuing with her work.
The stray cat as people like to call him around the Omatikaya clan, is a small pink fleshed kid with dirty blonde dreadlocks called Spider. She can’t remember how he came to be and how he and her siblings became friends but she did know one thing, and that was that she did not like this kid. He wears the clothes of Na’vi and paints blue markings onto himself saying that he’s Na’vi, which you found utterly embarrassing. But no matter what he says or what he does, in Y/n’s books he will never be classed as a Na’vi. Never.
Not only was he human but he was always getting himself into trouble and dragging Lo’ak with him. And who had to save them. Y/n. Of course she doesn’t want to save him, but then her siblings start crying and hitting her saying that they will tell their Mother and Father. Not that Netyiri really cares what happened to the stray, but Y/n would rather save the pink fleshy thing rather than the scolding of Jake a hundred times over.
Y/n groaned once more before standing up, grabbing her knife and securing it around her hips before slowly walking out of the hut in the directions of where her younger brothers and sister ran off toward.
“Tsk, children.” Netyiri sighed under her breath.
Y/n walked past members of the clan who bowed their head at the young girl, which the young Na’vi did the same. Although she wouldn’t be the next Olo’eyktan (because Jake and Netyiri aren’t her biological Mother and Father), she was still the oldest daughter of the Olo’eyktan and Tsakarem, as well as her biological Father being the Olo’eyktan before dying in battle and her Mother that was meant to be the future Tsahìk but never got to finish her Tsakarem due to the sky people.
Y/n walked into Mo’at’s hut, who was sitting in the centre, a stone motor in one hand and a pessel in the other, grinding herbs and plants making medical pastes for the injured and sick Na’vi, her grandmother grumbling under her breath about what she need to do and get.
“Grandmother.”
Mo’at hummed in response, picking up other herbs and placing them in the motor.
“Do you know where my brothers and sister have run off to?”
“How would I know. They are not my children to look after.” She grunted.
Y/n rolled her eyes. Although it didn’t look like it, she had a really close relationship with her grandmother, and spent most of her time with her if she wasn’t with her siblings. She liked spending time with her grandmother, not only did she get taught special remedies, rituals and learnt more about Eywa but she learnt a lot about her mum and dad as well as her grandfather.
“Grandmother, please.” She begged.
Mo’at sighed as she placed down her belongings, turning her head to face Y/n, “They came in here made a mess, then ran off saying something about meeting someone.”
Y/n groaned, rushing out of her grandmothers hut and toward the edge of the village, her grandmother calling out to her, “you better watch that attitude, y/n or your younger siblings will pick up on it!”.
As Y/n got to the edge of the village she saw her siblings giggling with each other as they slowly made their descent down, jumping on vines connecting to other mountains and trees.
Running over she came to a stop just beside Lo’ak, roughly ruffling his head, which he pushed her hand off him, hissing.
“Are you lot going to meet the stray?” She asked.
Kiri rolled her eyes, “he has a name you know. It’s Spider.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“We’re going to meet dad after for training.” Neteyam said, skipping to the other side of a vine and jumping down onto the forest floor. Y/n hummed in acknowledgment, jumping down and turning around to help her younger siblings down.
Once she made sure all her siblings where on the forest floor safely, she nodded to Neteyam to take lead, to which he turn around quickly and took off, “first one there wins!” He shouted, jumping over and ducking under fallen logs.
“Hey! That’s no fair, Neteyam!” Lo’ak screamed, chasing after him.
Y/n let out a loud laugh, she enjoyed these times where her younger siblings could relax and just enjoy themselves rather than making sure they was on their best behaviour since their father was Olo’eyktan and Toruk Makto, although that didn’t stop them from miss behaving on certain occasions.
Y/n grabbed Kiri, putting her on her back as she ran after her two brothers. Throughout the forest all that could be heard was the young Na’vi children laughing and shouting at each. The animals of Pandora watched as the siblings would push each other trying to take the lead of the group, jumping up into trees to run across the thick branches or leaping across small streams of water, laughing and teasing one another if one of them had slipped or got hit in the face by a branch.
Their laughter continued as they came to stop in the clearing. Y/n sitting at the bottom of a trunk, looking up at the leaves as the sun beamed down between them, she basked in the sunlight, feeling the warmth seep into her skin, “when is he meant to be meeting you?”
The three younger siblings looked around the forest, keeping their eye open for the small human boy. “Soon.” Stated Lo’ak, Kiri nodding along with him.
Y/n hummed, “well you know the rules, don’t go to far.”
“Yes.” Lo’ak groaned out, rolling his eyes.
A few minutes later a young boy wearing a mask emerged from the forest along with a large Avatar, who she recognised as Spider and Norm.
Norm was rambling on about something in English to the boy, which he kept reply yes to. Although Y/n didn’t know a lot of English like her younger siblings do, she could alway pick out a few words here and there.
“Ah! Y/n, I didn’t know you would be here!” Norm said in Na’vi.
Y/n grunted, “I’m here to look after my younger siblings. Make sure they don’t get into trouble.”
Although y/n didn’t like the sky people, despise them. She had a few she didn’t mind, despite her attitude, one of them being Norm (though she found it weird that he could go from human to Avatar with a click of a button), Max and Grace, although she had passed away, y/n felt like she knew her though the stories that the elders, Jake and Norm have told her. And let’s not forget about Jake. She remembered when she first found out that he was originally one of them, she felt horrified. But as she grew she became to love him like a father, how he fought for her family, her land. But in her books he was no longer a sky person, a human. He was Na’vi, a brother to the Omatikaya people.
“Ohhh, okay.” Norm replied, believing that the young Na’vi just wanted to hang out with her siblings and Spider, but because of how stubborn she was she would never let anyone know that she wanted to play with a human boy.
Y/n grunted as she rolled her eyes, looking across the forest, not wanting to indulge with Norm.
Then finally came the time when Norm was saying his goodbyes, not before talking Spider’s ear off about being safe and sticking with the Sully’s and to listen to Y/n.
As Norm disappeared into the forest, the children quickly started talking to each other, telling one another what they have missed from the two days they have been separated from each other, before they decided that it was time to play.
“Hey Y/n, do you want to play with us?” Spider asked, walking up to the girl who remained sitting down.
“I’m good, Stray.” She replied nonchalantly, although there was a hint of venom behind her words.
Spider let out a harsh breath, shaking his head in frustration as he turned, walking towards Lo’ak, “Why is she always so mad at me.”
Lo’ak let out a loud laugh, his head tilted back as if he heard the funniest joke in the whole world. Spider raised an eyebrow at his friend.
“No. No you got all wrong, cuz.” Lo’ak shook his head, placing his hand on his shoulder, “she just doesn’t like humans all that much.”
Spider scoffed, “are you sure? It seems like she only hates me. Do you think it’s because she found out who my father was.”
“No, trust me. If she knew who you was related to she would probably kill you. I mean, I’d kill you if you killed my parents.” Lo’ak shrugged his shoulders.
“Lo’ak.” Spider hissed.
“Anyway let’s go play! We have to meet our dad for training later, so we might not have enough time to play.” Lo’ak said, pushing Spiders shoulder before running in the direction he saw Neteyam and Kiri run off towards.
Before Spider left, he turned his head looking towards where Y/n was sitting, leaning on the trunk, her head against the tree bark as she stared up into the sky, watching the Ikran fly throughout the mountains.
He let out a sigh before following his friend.
It seems that whatever he did she would always take a disliking towards him.
“Damit!”
Turning my head, I look over and see Lo’ak; he was holding his nose, blood poured through his fingers.
“Lo’ak, are you okay?” I scrambled to my little brother, pulling his hands away so I could assess the damage.
“What happened this time?” Kiri asked, following closely.
“Ma’Itan!” We both parted for Sa’nu as she pulled Lo’ak further into our marui.
Lo’ak didn’t fight Sa’nu as he tried to wave us off, “I’m fine. Fishlips is in a mood today, and apparently, I got in his way,” His voice mumbled by his hand.
Sa’nu managed to peel his hand away, showing us the start of purple bleeding from the bridge of his nose and into the corner of his left eye, and it is already swelling shut. Rage flashed through me. This bastard targets my brother whenever he’s in a mood, and I am sick of it.
“That cursed boy keeps doing this! I do not know why Jake will not take these matters to the Olo’eyktan, but if he doesn’t, I will deal with your father myself,” Sa’nu grumbled as she weaved through the salves and ointments on in the rafters.
“It is alright, Sa’nu. Aonung is mostly on good terms with me. Let me see if I can get to the root of this. It would be better to handle this ourselves than to disrupt the Olo’eyktan,” I explained softly.
Neteyam has always been known as a strong leader, but as his twin, I was meant to be the soft healer, but it wasn’t underappreciated when it turned out I was an excellent diplomat. My calm demeanor has always been good when I have to butt into things.
Sa’nu frowned, her brow creasing with worry, but it was Lo’ak who spoke first, “Bad idea, Sis, he’s already hit one of us today. I don’t want you to be next.”
“Ma’Ite, I agree with Lo’ak. The Olo’eyktan’s son has already struck your brother today; I cannot promise that I will be able to handle this rationally if another one of my children were to be harmed,” Sa’nu explained worryingly.
I walked over and hugged her, “It will be alright, Sa’nu. Aonung has done nothing more than send barbed words my way. I do not think Aonung is barbaric enough to lay a hand on me,” I was soft but firm in my reasoning.
I could feel Sa’nu’s sigh against my braids as he hugged me back, “You are far too stubborn. Even if I told you not to, you would still go and meet him.” She pulled away, holding me in her outstretched arms, “But you will take something for your protection,” Her words were final.
I smiled and nodded my head, “Of course, Sa’nu.”
“I still don’t like it, but if Fishlips does anything, make sure you get him good, Sis,” Lo’ak grumbled.
Sa’nu sapped her head at Lo’ak, “You will do well not to antagonize him; if I find out that these brawls have all been started by you, not even Eywa will be able to find you,” Her words were harsh, but her eyes betray her concern.
Using the distraction Lo’ak provided, I slipped away, all the while grabbing my weapon. It is my favorite, made of braided pa’li hair that is connected to a hand-carved wooden handle. I spent hours carving and painting it to my liking. Sempu said that it was similar to a tawtute weapon called a whip. I love it nonetheless. I use it for many things, such as dancing and reaching for things. I even used it to grab onto branches out of my reach and swing through the forest with it. But for now, it will have a different purpose.
I walk the sandy beach of Awa'atlu. Many others wave at me, and I wave back. As the calm Sully who helps and plays with the children, I was accepted quickly along with Tuk. Others looked on, seeing me as friendly and relaxed. Not one of them knew that I was on a mission. And not one could comprehend that the following actions could be my own.
I walked further away from the village to a quiet, isolated spot. Forgotten by many, but it is a place that I know Aonung visits when he’s upset. Looking around, Aonung was nowhere to be found, so I settled into some of the rocks nearby and waited.
It wasn’t long until I heard the sound of feet on the sand. Peaking around, I see Aonung, his face marred by this anger. To others, his face would bring fear, but I felt nothing but righteous anger for what he did to my baby brother, but I held those emotions under a tight, calm facade, and I will not budge from it.
Unknowing of my presence, Aonung walked by my hiding place, and I struck. Using my whip, I wrapped the length of it around his ankle and pulled. Aonung quickly fell, his face now buried in the sand. As he recovered, he spun around, snarling until he saw my face. His face turned to one of fear as his ears pinned back, and his tail became stiff.
“Please, I’m so-”
“Shut up, I didn’t say you could speak,” I snapped at him, my face completely cold.
Aonung audibly shut his mouth quickly as he looked up at me, waiting for my next move.
“Now sit pretty,” I commanded him.
Aonung moved into the proper position, on his knees, legs spread, ankles touching, arms behind his back, and his chest pushed out.
“You will nod your head yes or no to my questions, understand?” I questioned blankly.
Aonung quickly nodded his head, afraid of angering me anymore.
“Did you hit Lo’ak?” I asked him, already knowing the answer.
Hesitantly, he nodded his head yes.
“Did you approach Lo’ak first?”
Again, he nodded an affirmative.
“Did Lo’ak antagonize you first?” Knowing that Lo’ak would have retaliated, I love my brother, but he’s stupid.
Slowly, he shook his head.
“I see. Last question: did you strike first?”
Aonung’s eyes widened as he stared up at me. I waited for his response, giving him the time to answer. And he did, slowly nodding his head, his eyes never leaving mine.
“You’re being a good boy for me and telling the truth, but that doesn’t excuse your actions. You sought a fight, and you struck my brother unprompted,” I wrap the length of my whip into a coil and hold it out so the handle is facing Aonung, “Tell me, how many lashes do you think you deserve?”
Aonung leans in and kisses the handle before muttering, “25.”
I sat and looked at him stonily, not allowing him to see how shocked I was. 25 is not a number I would have thought of, with my hand maybe, but with my whip, absolutely not.
I brought the whip under his chin, lifting it up into an uncomfortable angle, “You really are trying to be a good boy for me. But I will not accept your ridiculous request. I will just have to think of something."
I circle around him, watching his reactions. Aonung sitting in his proper position, not moving a muscle. Thinking about a suitable punishment. This has been an ongoing problem; thus, the punishment must reflect that. But 25 lashes with my whip would cause far too much damage. It would leave him bloody and raw. But if it was over several days…
“Stand,” My voice was firm.
Aonung stood quickly, his arms still behind his back and his feet shoulder-width apart. I trailed my fingertips across his shoulder blades and down his back. While mostly gone, there are traces of my previous marks, sealing my theory.
“I’ve come to notice you act out every time you’re almost healed. So, to save my sanity and my brother's face, we will be working on a new routine. Every night just after eclipse, you will join me here and will take five lashes or 15 spanks. This will continue until I can trust you to behave yourself,” I back up and point to the rocky wall, “Remove your tewng and assume the position.”
Aonung quickly obeys, untying the straps of his tewng and folding it neatly before he walks over, kneeling in front of the rocky wall and placing his hands high on the wall, giving me the perfect angle for his back.
I readied myself behind him, unrolling my whip, “For tonight, I will add five additional lashes for the stunt you pulled today. You will face a total of ten lashes tonight. Is that understood?”
“Yes, Sumtsyìp,” Aonung responded dutifully.
“Good, now count,” With that, I raised my arm and cracked the whip.
The resounding sound was loud as the braided pa’li hairs met his skin.
“One,” Aonung said, attempting to sound unbothered.
I raised my hand again and struck the whip.
The muscles of Aonung’s back flexed as he gritted out, “Two.”
Once more, I raised my hand, but I flicked it twice this time, sending two lashes back to back.
“Three, four!” Aonung’s voice was louder as he fought to stay in place.
I quickly laid one more on his back before he could catch his breath.
Aonung moaned as he stuttered out, “Five!”
I walked closer to Aonung, needing to asses the physical damage and his mental state before continuing. Upon closer inspection, Aonung’s back had five red lines crisscrossing along the back, raised but not broken. Aonung heaved in a breath, his chest stuttering. I grabbed his chin, making him face me, and the sight broke my heart. Tears were streaming down his face as he sucked in sobs. I caressed his face as I brought my lips to his in a tender kiss.
“You’re being so good to me, Aonung,” I gave him gentle praise, “You don’t have to worry about anything, just let me take care of you,” I kissed him sweetly again, soft but passionate, before I pulled away, “Are you good to continue?” I questioned him, needing to know before I continued.
“Ye-yes, I I’m good,” Aonung stuttered out, his voice low.
I caressed his face one last time before I backed up, assuming my previous position, “Five more to go.”
I raise my arm higher, aiming for untouched skin, flicking my wrist so it lands across his upper back.
“Eywa! Six!” Aonung’s voice was high and whiny, making me wonder about his intentions.
Deciding to test my theory, I aimed lower, down near the tailbone; a quick flick and there was a new mark.
“Oh fuck! Oh fuck! Seven!” He moaned, rolling his hips.
I couldn’t stop the giggle that left my lips, “Is my naughty boy acting like a slut?” I asked him.
“I’m sorry, Sumtsyìp, I didn’t mean to,” Aonung tried to apologize.
“Don’t worry slut, I’ll take care of it after,” I slipped back into my unfeeling roll with ease, quickly aiming for his back twice.
“Shit! Fuck,” He moaned, making my cunt throb, “Eight! Nine!” He remembered to count.
“Good boy, I almost had to give you more,” I praised coldly, “Now turn around and face me, hands behind your head,” My instructions were clear.
On his knees, he slowly turned to face me, his arms behind his head, chest pushed out. Aonung’s pretty little slit housing his sex organs was relaxed, the tip of his cock peeking out.
“You really are my little slut, but don’t worry. I’m here to take care of you; I always am,” I said softly before quickly whipping across his slit.
Aonung’s eyes went wide as he knelt over, his face in the sand, as he gasped for breath. His legs shook, but that didn’t stop his hips from rolling. I watched him with amusement, waiting for him to count, but it seemed that while lost in his sea pain and pleasure, he forgot. While thinking about how I was going to punish him for miss counting, I expected the lashes on his back. Raised, and would leave bruises, but no slit skin, and not a drop of blood. Absolutely beautiful.
“Sit up,” I demanded.
Slowly and shakily, he does. Leaning back up on his knees, I could see now that his cock had slipped out, hard and covered in sand.
I sneered down at it and toed it with my foot, “That thing is going nowhere near me, covered in sand. But if you must, you can take care of it yourself.”
Aonung looked at me as if I was Eywa herself, “Thank you, Sumtsyìp,” And his hand drifted to his cock, the base of his cock is the same light blue as his skin, lightening into a pretty baby purple at the tapered tip of his cock; the shaft is covered in spines similar to that of his kuru. Aonung started at the base, gripping it firmly before slowly moving upward, the spines flexing and bending under his touch, then moving back down, away from the tip, which I had struck.
“Oh fuck,” He moaned breathlessly, his head tilted back.
His mouth opened wide as he licked his lips, making me eager for more. So, I closed the distance between us and threaded my fingers through his hair, pulling him to my relaxed slit. I didn’t even have to ask before Aonung latched on; his free hand came up and wrapped around my hip, holding me in place. All the while swiping his tongue across my slit. The wet muscle was eager to enter into me.
“Such a good boy,” I growled, pulling his hair more, giving me a whimper in return.
Always crafty with his tongue, Aonung pushed through with ease, wiggling his tongue around my insides. I moaned as I rolled my hips into his face, covering him with my slick. Thank Eywa Aonung doesn’t have a gag reflex; his long tongue is able to slide deep inside me while my inner tendrils wrap around his tongue and trail into his mouth. My tendrils wanted to lock him inside me, thinking that it was a mating. Each wiggle and thrust of his tongue sent sparks of pleasure through my body.
“Oh, that’s my good fucking slut,” I groaned.
I could feel Aonung’s hand working underneath me and the moans that traveled through my core. I looked deep into Aonung’s eyes, his big blue orbs filled with lust, love, and devotion, as he pleased me, and I knew I would give him the world in return.
“Cum for me, Nung,” I ordered softly.
Aonung’s eyes widened as his body shook, his hips thrusting erratically. His spurts of cum landed on my leg and foot. By Eywa, his moans and deep vibrations are mixed with the sounds of his whines, feeling like a tawtute vibrator but playing my favorite song.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck, Nung,” I rolled my moaned as I came. I rolled my hips as I rode my high. My thighs shook as Aonung continued to pleasure me. All I could think about was his tongue and sparks of pleasure that flowed through my body as I gasped for air.
“Such a good boy, such a good fucking boy for me. My slut, no one else's,” I growled as I ripped him away from
my slit, bringing his face to mine.
“Yours, always and forever yours,” He whispered reverently, his eyes telling the truth.
No matter how many bumps we encounter, we will always have each other.
Tumblr media
I laid with Neteyam till the sun went down, that’s when Jake came in to check on us
“How’re you doing baby girl?” He asked rubbing my back
“I don’t know how to feel, I’ve missed him so much, and knowing now that I wasn’t here to protect him……it breaks my heart” I said as my voice broke
“You know, he would’ve done anything for you, I remember when we were back in the forest he’d always finish his tasks quickly to be with you more, he’d ask his mother advice on how to court you, it was the cutest thing seeing his chase after you like a little pup” he smiled
“Really, I always thought he just saw me as his friend, I mean he’s Neteyam, the most beautiful warrior of the omiticaya people, why would he court me” i said as I ran my fingers through his braids, it was always my favorite thing to do when he would lay on my lap
“Believe me, you’re the only one that has always been the sweet flower in his eyes, Eywa blessed him with an amazing partner, just have hope baby girl, he’ll come back to you” Jake said as he got up and left
I looked at Neteyam, his unique blue markings, and his glowing white freckles, I truly adored him he’s absolutely beautiful but I miss his big yellow eyes, that looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered on pandora
“Eywa how was I so blind, we missed so much time because I was too stupid to see how you were courting me”
“You’re not stupid my sweet flower”
“Neteyam! You’re awake, are you feeling okay?” I asked frantic
He opened his eyes and they were dull but still those beautiful eyes I fell in love with
“I’m fine sweet flower, what are you doing here?” He asked as he gripped my hand
“I missed you, I needed to find you needed to be with you again Teyam, and I found you and I’m never leaving your side again” I said as I placed kisses all over his face
“You’re all I thought about when I got shot, how I’d never see you again, how I wouldn’t be able to court you right, make you my mate or grow a family with you”
“We can still do all those things Teyam, I want that with you”
“I see you y/n, forever and always”
“I see you Teyam” I said as I leaned in to kiss him
“Im glad you came, I was waiting for you” he smiled
“Wait here I’m going to get Kiri and your mother, let them know you’re awake”
“I’m not going anywhere” he laughed
He’s the love of my life, from now until we meet again when we are with Eywa, our lives together starts now
On my own. Finale. (Sully family x reader)
When Y/n flew away she couldn't unhear a voice telling her to turn back...to at least stay for her siblings. Her mind wondered and scrambled everywhere and then…she stopped immediately before turning back to the forest. She was a coward if she thought that running away from her problems like her father did would solve anything.
It reminded her of a troubling moment when Y/n was 10 where she knew she messed up and ran away in a panic…
*
Y/n messed up when she was singing the traditional songs beside her grandmother, mother, Kiri and elders..it was a big deal! She was along side the generation of women and her voice stood out when she messed up..once the song was over she got out of the crowd and ran into the forest
Lo’ak watched her run away and followed her immediately, when he saw her he witnessed the way she began breathing heavily, struggling to catch a breath
“Y/n whats wrong?! Is it because of the song?! Your ok I didn’t even notice?!”
He was lying but Y/n could Barley even process his words because she was absolutely terrified of her father taking her away and punishing her. He recognized the pacing she was doing, the way her heart beat rapidly..it was a panic attack.
“This is the most embarrassing thing ever! I feel like I just ruined everything!”
“No you didn’t! It’s ok! It’ll all be ok!”
Lo’ak gently reached out for her but she flinched away and he stared at her in shock.
“Are you ok-“
“Yes! I’m fine I-I- just I can’t breath p-properly.”
Her heart and breathing felt heavy, she felt like she was going to pass out. When she was calmed down she didn’t even say anything to Lo’ak..just walked back with her tail between her legs ready to face her father…
She walked right up to him and even shed a few tears right in front of him and Neytiri. She was only eight.
“We will talk when we get home..Why are you crying? You’re a baby.”
Jake knew exactly why. He just knew how to break her slowly and he knew that she was crying because Y/n dreaded anxiously waiting for a hit back home…
-*
While Y/n was flying back home the two parents went to rest but what they hadn’t noticed was three of their children gone in their hammocks…
“shh Lo’ak wake up! Something’s wrong, Y/n left again and this time I don’t think she’s coming back. We must find her.”
Kiri stirred in her sleep waking up to her brothers whispers.
“…ok let’s go what are we waiting for?”
“What are you two doing?”
Both siblings turned with wide eyes
“We are leaving to find Y/n…are you coming?”
Kiri looked down thinking about her sister who gave her chills from hearing the obvious trauma in her voice from the argument with their father.
“yes.”
All three siblings walked out, suited up in hopes of finding Y/n….
(Couple of hours later)
“Can we take a break? Please I’m begging you!”
“It’s only been an hour?!”
Kiri rolled her eyes at Lo’ak who couldn’t fly for at least one more hour.
“Over there! Let’s land on that mountain!”
-*
Y/n was flying back home and she was less than halfway there when she saw familiar looking Ikrans on a mountain..
She was circling them before slowing going down and getting off her ikran.
“What are you three doing?!”
“We are looking for you!” -Neteyam
Y/n backed away from her siblings inching closer.
“I was going to come back home. I promise.”
“Why were you leaving Y/n? What did dad do? Why did he hit you so easily? Wha-what’s going on?”
Kiri turned to Lo’ak with widened eyes frustrated that he ran into questions so quickly.
“…father..he hit me all the time, when no one was there. That’s why it’s so easy. I was leaving to find a new home but…I can’t run away from father, not when I’m leaving you all behind.”
All siblings gasped in disbelief as memories of harmed Y/n flashed by their eyes..how could they not notice?
“..I was mistreated in so many ways I can’t…I can’t even breathe around him anymore. It’s suffocating. When I think about everything that happened, all I can remember is..how he used to make me feel. I fought it off for so long and I’m just tired of having to prove myself. I-I just want him to go away.
All siblings walked to Y/n embracing her in a hug while she cried while Neteyam spoke up for her.
“If you come with us now…we’ll be right behind you sister.”
Y/n’s ears couldn’t believe this..not when the most obeying child said
“How are you guys planning on going against our parents as well?”
“Together.”
“….we’ll basically lose..”
“We’ll do that together too.”
The four teenagers shared a laugh before mustering up the strength to turn back and go back to where they rest.
…see in a way..? Y/n was proving her parents right. She had her siblings protecting her and agreeing to be by her side. To them she still was a monster.
The four of them flew back home doing tricks and turns and for the first time since getting toruk, Y/n felt free once again.
When they arrived home Neteyam noticed the lights on in the home so he told the siblings he’d talk to them while they are to stay put.
Y/n held Kiri’s and Lo’ak’s hand allowing them to rest their heads on her shoulder while she watched the room hoping their wouldn’t be a fallen shadow from being hit.
*away from the siblings*
“Father please ok? I understand you are frustrated at one point I was too ok? Just please let her stay and rest. Please.”
Jake couldn’t even phantom Neteyam’s request..let her stay? When she was ok at hissing and throwing a flame at her own parents?
“Absolutely not. You better not associate with that child Neteyam, you and your siblings are instructed to come inside now and stay. I mean it!”
Neteyam lost patience he couldn’t keep the secret Y/n shared to himself, he wasn’t going to protect the truth.
“Siblings? She is my sibling. You know father..she did try to fix thing with you. To have a ‘happy, healthy relationship’ but it got to the point where healing you, was hurting her. All she wanted was your love and you, to treat her good enough…but that seems to much go ask for, giving up on you was her only choice.”
Neteyam tried his hardest to change his fathers ways by being patient…but another sibling didn’t like settling or dealing with problems on ‘patience’..Lo’ak got up quickly urging Y/n to just stay back and she listened but it doesn’t mean she didn’t watch from a far with another flame lingering in her body.
“I will not have you give me a speech on how I raised my-“
Lo’ak didn’t even hesitate to cut Jake off who was angry towards Neteyam from his ‘allegations’
“Yea well you have a daughter who sincerely believes that you don’t like her…I mean she’s tried to communicate with you but why aren’t you..listening?! You just never listen.”
Jake stood even more stunned at Lo’ak’s words slowly, one by one his children were closing against him.
“…i mean why aren’t you riveted?! Why is this not the most important thing to you?..it’s because you don’t care do you dad? You don’t care if Y/n were to die. You just took the chance on at least leading her to death. All these years, you’ve tried to hit her to death just to kill her slowly. You enjoyed it too-“
A gasp interrupted the conversation..a gasp from Neytiri.
“Ma’Jake is this true?! I-Is this true? I trusted you?!”
Jake felt dejavú all over again except this time he knew exactly how to manipulate Neytiri. She always followed him blindly…Neteyam and Lo’ak were just hoping this time she wouldn’t.
“How could you believe them? They believe her. She tried to kill us and harm this family. I would never do that.”
“Liar! Dad is a liar mother!”
Neytiri wanted to..she had anger towards both her husband and daughter at the moment but what Jake was saying…it was true..or it ‘seemed true’.
“You’re right..”
Lo’ak and Neteyam’s anxious breathe patterns stopped when until Neytiri spoke another word..
“Ma’Jake you are right. Your father would not lie about such a thing, you are to get back to bed and stay. You will no longer talk to Y/-“
“No! You can’t do that! Do not do that!”
All four older people turned to the child who peeked out from the corner of their home..
“Y/n is my sister. She is our sister! Sully’s stick together!”
It was almost as though time stopped and everything felt slow Neteyam’s breathing dropped when he saw his little sister had a bruise on her arm and instead of standing beside Jake…she stood far and it was then that Neteyam picked Tuk up.
“We will stay..we just need to grab a few items that we left on our ikrans…We will be right back.”
Jake and Neytiri’s shoulders relaxed calmed to the fact that their sons gave up on Y/n.
Neteyam wasn’t over even though he dragged Lo’ak away ignoring his pleas to keep fighting.
“Shut up. Just follow me.”
All of the children walked closer to the two sister while Tuk jumped into Y/n’s arms, thanking Eywa she made it home.
“Tuk…do you want to come with us?”
“Where? on an adventure?!”
All siblings turned to their older brother confused and bewildered..
“What do you mean brother? You aren’t leaving..you have a future ahead of you-“
“That doesn’t matter! You guys are my family. We will settle for another clan if we have to but i will not fail you anymore sister, I’m so sorry for turning a blind eye all these years. I made a promise. We will discuss this later but whomever doesn’t want to come can feel free to stay.”
All siblings eagerly tugged on this ikran ready for another flight while Tuk happily joined her big brother getting ready for another adventure…
!💓!
i’m so sorry it took long for this series to come out and end. i didn’t have anything in mind and this was the best I can come up with! I wanted y/n’s truth to come out and I wanted the siblings to still have a bond! You can see that Y/n was close with her siblings throughout this series, with mini interactions! 💓
also I know it might’ve hurt when you realize it started happening to Tuk too…💔
