Music, the flickering light of the big fire, the stink of naer [alcoholic drink], some metkayina dancing around the fire place while others told stories that emitted great laughed from all around them. Not exactly something you wouldn’t find enjoyable. Normally. The music was okay, but maybe if the booze wasn’t as disgusting you could find it in yourself to get up and dance with Kiri, but sadly eywa hadn’t granted you this luxury. So you just had to suffer through it, sober and bored, while everyone else seemed to have the time of their lives.
Being the only human in the village sucks. It makes you miss home more than anything, and you can’t help but drift off into happier memories. The omatikaya knew how to celebrate. They also knew how to make you feel welcome. Here, you didn’t even dare raise to your feet and join the cheerful dancing. Not sober, though. Afraid of weird looks from the metkayina that had never before seen a demon this close and still hadn’t grown very fond of you, you decided to stay put for the night.
After a while, Lo‘ak nudges your side and shoves a drink under your nose, but you decline with a put-on smile. Then he shrugs and chucks the liquor by himself. His careless way of drinking the entirely too strong metkayina booze earns him a frown and playful claps to the back of his head by his older brother, and it’s the only thing emitting a slight giggle from you in hours.
So here you were. Stuck between your drunk childhood friends and their new friends, watching people drink and grind (they could call it dancing as much as they wanted, it was obscene grinding and nothing would persuade you of anything different).
The olo’eyktans eldest, Ao‘nung or whatever the brats name was, was standing in front of the group, giving a speech about whatever. You can barely hear the words droning from his mouth, too apathetic to translate them in your head. You lost interest in whatever he had to say a long time ago, not that it was ever there to begin with.
Oh, you could definitely do without Ao’nung. He wasn’t exactly an enemy, but certainly not a friend. Not to you, not after everything he did. Ao’nung was the type of person whose name was known in the village. You realized that on the very first day here. The type of person who everyone loves, mostly because they’re intimated of him. The type of person that could snap his fingers and woman would fall to their knees to please him.
Technically, he had never been rude to you. But that didn’t matter. He was a horrible person by pure association.
Ao’nung carried himself like he owned the island. Well, perhaps he would, someday. But leading and owning are two entirely different things. Something it seems he hasn’t realized just yet. So yes, he’s an asshole. A cocky asshole that has no idea what it’s like to be thankful. What it’s like to be appreciative. He gets everything handed to him on a silver platter and is constantly showered with admiration and attention. And the worst thing of all is, that he believes he could own you, too.
"Oh I could", Ao’nung chuckles, and it’s the first thing he said that you actually registered. You catch the way Neteyam rolls his eyes shortly after giving you the look, and it’s just now that you snap out of your thoughts and realize what was being said must’ve been about you.
"What?" You frown.
"Ruin her", Ao’nung says completely over your head. He’s grinning, talking about you as if you weren’t even here with them and it’s only making things worse. "I could ruin her for all of her kind with ease. Just look at her, she’s so tiny. She probably can’t even take all of it."
"Bro", Lo’ak makes a face of disgust before breaking out in laughter, "don’t be fucking weird."
You sigh, heavily, and then roll your eyes so hard it stings a tiny bit. Not this again, you think.
"What? You don’t think I can, little demon?"
It’s not the first time this topic was bought up by the metkayina man and you know for a fact that it won’t be the last. And what only makes this worse is, you can’t even blame his words on the alcohol flowing through his system. Yes, he’s clearly a bit tipsy, but it seems this has been a topic he frequently occupied himself with. Like a challenge. And maybe that’s what it was for him. Truthfully, you were something new to him. Something exciting. Certainly a new way to proof himself to be the best, a challenge to see if he could actually ruin you. To have the foreign little demon submit to him.
"Fuck off", you tell him with a smile, the english rolling off your tongue so smoothly it makes Lo’ak and Neteyam stifle a laugh to not give away what you just said.
Ao’nung, completely oblivious to your words, grins even wider. His tail wags behind his back and his ears perk up and god, he looks so much like a stupid little puppy waiting for a treat. And as much as watching Ao’nung embarrass himself further because he once again tried and failed to sweet talk his way into your pants, it was late and you only had so much patience left in you today.
So you got up, excused yourself, turned around and walked away, back in the direction of the little camp that was set up for you on your stay with the metkayina.
Except you were stopped just a moment later, by a hand around your wrist, spinning you around and nearly making your mask go flying.
"Whoah, whoah, where do you think you’re going?" Ao’nung laughed, just a bit too loud in his drunkenness. "Party isn’t over yet, paskalin."
"Let me go", you sighed, trying to wriggle yourself free, but his grip was like iron.
"Oh c’mon, loosen up a little. It’s like you don’t know how to have fun! Do I really have to teach you?” Ao’nung shook his head, making soft yet still very audible tsk-tsk sounds. He then lifted the cup in his hand and held it in your face. "Drink."
“No thanks", you politely pushed his hand away. "I prefer the omatikayas naer. It’s sweeter."
This made him laugh again, as if you had just made the best joke he’d heard in ages. “Oh, pretty, you don’t drink for the taste!” He emphasised the word taste, making it sound as if he was trying to explain something to a six-year old. The way your rolled your eyes at him made his face break into a sharp grin, and at this point you genuinely wondered if he thought rolling your eyes at someone was the human equivalent to flirting.
"Okay, no drinks, I get it. Then what do you say about us ditching the others and have some private fun instead, hm?"
"You’re drunk, fish lips, and you know my answer. It’s the same as always."
"And? C‘mon, I’ve been dying to get a taste of you", he chuckles, cocking his head as he looks down at you. "Let me show you how good I could make you feel. I mean what I said earlier, and you know it." For the last part, he leaned down enough so his lips brushed the lobe of your ear as he spoke lowly, "Don’t be shy, let me ruin that pretty little tawtute pussy. I know you want it."
God, he was so insufferable. You knew that you would probably never hear the end of it if you didn’t finally do something against this...
Glancing back over your shoulder, you watched the others lost in their drunken chitter chatter, too distracted to pay you both any mind. Good. "You know what? Fine. Let’s go somewhere else", you said with a shrug and to your amusement, looked back at Ao’nung at the exact moment his brain had processed what you had just said. There was a split second in which his face dropped in utter confusion, before he proudly puffed his chest out and licked his lips in anticipation.
Saying he was like putty in your hands was a fairly humble brag at this point. In truth, he was all yours– fully and completely yours. He just didn’t know it yet.
Watching his wide curious eyes scan the makeshift labs full of sky people technology was a sight better than anything you could’ve ever dreamed about. You love that the big cocky guy seems so out of place here, as he clumsily ducks under the doorframe to your bedroom. Closing the door behind him, you then feel his gaze on you. Ao‘nung doesn’t make much of an act around hiding the lust in his eyes as he watches you discard your mask to the little table next to the door, practically eye-fucking you already.
"Sit down", you tell him, biting the inside of your cheek to hide the amused smile wanting to spread on your lips. You want to play along for a while longer, just for the fun of it. "Straight to the point, huh?" Ao‘nung smirks as he does as instructed, the bed creaking under his weight. "I knew you wanted this just as much as I did."
You shake your head with a giggle as you step closer between his spread thighs. "You’re just so tall", you bat your pretty long lashes at him, talking in your most seductive voice as your hands reach out to wander from his board chest to his shoulders, before your arms encircle his neck. "It’s easier for me to do this when you sit down", you say in a hushed whisper, before pressing your lips against the corner of his mouth, then one more properly on-center. Ao’nung parts his lips, greedy and desperate, but you just ignore him, kisses his bottom lip and bites it softly. Bites it again, harder this time, raking with your teeth until he can feel it swelling up a bit.
And then you kiss him nowhere near chastely. A sigh escapes you and you let it ebb into a soft moan when he slips his tongue into your mouth. His mouth is messy and clever, but you’re making these little noises that are starting to turn him on so damn much, you just know he’s going dizzy with how good it is.
Ao‘nung groans into it, his hands immediately running up your thighs and backside, boldly grabbing a handful of each one of your ass cheeks. He‘s greedy in the way he kisses, taking control of all movements and you let him. For now. Until his mouth’s almost numb from kissing.
Ao’nung hasn’t done this much kissing since he was fourteen and had his first girlfriend, and he definitely hasn’t ever been kissed like you kissed. It’s the perfect mix of submissive, yet so filthy and dirty, it makes him as hard as a rock. Your ass fits right into his palms and he kneads the supple flesh, attempts to spread your cheeks and nearly rips the seams of your jeans.
He‘s so impatient, it would’ve been cute if it didn’t worry you that he would skip the foreplay completely and just pound you into the mattress. This guy needed some relief first, you decided.
After a while of sucking on each other tongues, panting against each others lips and kissing so hungrily, there’s spit running down his chin, you gently push yourself away with a hand on his chest. His eyes are still half lidded and his lips are parted once you’ve put some space between you both and you can’t help but giggle at the sight of his desperate state. He’s so easy, you think to yourself.
Your hands then wander from his tattooed chest, further down his toned stomach, skimming over his muscles and past the cord that holds his loincloth together. The sound of him sucking in a sharp breath once your palm runs over the outline of his hard cock makes goosebumps appear all over your body. God, no wonder he was acting so cocky all the time. Ao’nung was huge. More than just proportional to the rest of his body.
The look in your face must’ve given your thoughts away, because the metkayina man then grins and chuckles, "I told you, paskalin. I will ruin you."
A smile pulls at your lips at that and then you sink to your knees between his spread thighs. It takes both of your hands and a little help to get him out of his loincloth, but the effort is rewarded with a mouth watering sight.
Ao’nungs cock is long and thick, the same pretty cyan as the rest of his body, hard and flushed and standing upright, slowly dripping pre-cum. You could even see it twitch to the rhythm of his rapid heartbeat, wordlessly begging to be touched. You lick your lips at that, a movement that doesn’t go unnoticed.
"You want to suck my cock, hm?" Ao‘nungs hand reaches out to cup your cheek, his thumb running over your kiss-swollen bottom lip. "Think you can take it?"
"I can try", you say in hushed whisper, smiling up at him with those big doe eyes you know will drive him insane. His cock throbs heavily as you run your small hands up the inside of his thigh, then grabbing his length with both of them. He’s too thick to close your hands entirely around him, but that only adds further to the exciting flutter in your stomach.
It’s just a lick, from base to tip, at first. One quick run with your tongue. Ao‘nung makes a noise, clearly made in an effort to keep himself from moaning and you grin mischievously. You start shallow and easy. Somewhat slow and lazy. Just working him up with kisses on his smooth tip and kitten licks along his shaft. As a reward, he makes soft, low groans every now and then. It encourages you to pick up the pace and go deeper.
Your lips wrap around the head, tongue glued to the underside and then you slowly suck him in as far as he could go before making you gag -which wasn’t much, considering that his tip almost filled your mouth out completely. But you managed to make it work, your hands coming to help and stroke every inch you couldn’t reach.
Ao‘nung let out a strangled moan at the tight heat your throat formed around him and then tangled his fist in your hair. "Fuck, that’s good…"
A glance up reveals a pair of lust darkened eyes staring down at you, his bottom lip sucked in between his sharp canine and his eyebrows drawn together in pleasure. You chuckle and hum around his cock, tasting the musky, earthy tang of his pre-cum dripping onto the back of your tongue as you suck and slurp around his cock.
Ao’nungs noises are slowly growing louder and more frequent, but they aren’t out of control. Yet.
You let the tip of your tongue flick against his slit, and this time the metkayina didn’t even try to hold back a moan. "Great mother– shit, keep that up and you‘ll make me come!"
At this, you pull off and look up with a wicked grin that quickly turns into a little pout. "Not yet, big boy. I want you to hold it.” Your tongue darts out again to give the head of his cock a seductive lick. "Hold it so you can come inside me, yes?"
Ao‘nung swallows thickly, trying to compose himself and keep his calm, and then nods. "Get up here then, c‘mon", he huffs, sounding a little too breathless for his own liking as he grabbed your wrist and pulled you up to your feet. Your clothes were off faster than you could even process with the speed of an extra set of hands that were just itching to feel every inch of your exposed skin.
"What a pretty little demon", Ao‘nung cooed as his eyes raked over your body, his hands groping at your ass and hips, one of them running up to knead your tits. "Always knew you’d be a sight." He then places a couple of open mouthed kisses on the warm, soft skin of your breast, his lips closing around a nipple to gently suck before he released it with a wet pop.
"We should make sure to get you ready for me", Ao’nung whispered before he continued to lap at your tits. "Get you all nice and wet, stretch you out for my cock", he said after a long drag of his tongue over your sensitive skin.
"Yeah", you breath softly, letting your head fall back as you enjoyed the feeling of his tongue tease one nipple, and then the other. "We should."
"How does the tiny human want me then, hm?"
A mischievous smile spread on your lips as you straddled the big na‘vi, making sure to shuffle in position by letting your cunt drag over his cock which emitted a sharp hiss from the man under you. Both of your arms were now back around his neck, your chest pressed tight against his as you arched your back for him.
"Want you to finger me before I ride you", you whispered lowly into his pointy ear, before licking along the soft shell. You giggle at the way it twitches in excitement of hearing your desires, before Ao‘nung wraps a strong arm around your middle and reaches between your thighs from behind with the other.
He makes a low sound, between a groan and a growl, as his finger glides through your slippery folds. He locates your clit with ease and teases the little bundle of nerves by drawing featherlight circles on it. Sweet gasps of pleasure tumble from your parted lips and directly into his ear and he grins. More arousal seeps out of you the more he plays with your clit, and it doesn’t take him very long to grow impatient and let his fingers wander to the source of it. Your tiny hole clenches with the need to be filled and Ao‘nung let’s out an appreciative hum as he pushes his index finger past your entrance with minimal resistance. You’re so wet, so ready to be taken, he thinks. But you’re also tight, he realizes quickly.
Wriggling the second finger inside is more of a challenge, but you still take it. Your moans grow louder as he begins to push his fingers in to the last knuckle, thrusting them in and out slowly, curling them just right for your legs to tremble.
Once he deems you ready enough and his impatience seems to get the best of him, Ao’nung retreats his fingers and grabs your hips to position you right above his cock. He presses you down to where it lays hard and heavy on his stomach, then guides you by the hips to run your cunt up and down his length, lubing himself with your arousal.
"Think you’re ready for me, paskalin?", Ao’nung asks, but his voice sounds more strained that he would like admit. He’s so precious, holding himself back so much. And he’s was doing so well there. He’s not even inside you yet but you can feel his cock pulse, so close to the finish line already.
For a moment you debate if you should shake your head and make him eat you out first, just to see how long he can hold it in. You knew that would be mean. But that was exactly the point. He might be as hard as a rock, but you had the patience of a saint, and could easily drag this out. But the thought of him finishing early over how tight you are is just so much better.
"See for yourself", you purr into his ear, before leaning back with a hand on his chest, the other one grabbing his length and positioning it to nudge against your entrance.
"Go slow, tawtute. We wouldn’t want you to get hurt, do we?" Ao’nung chuckles confidently, but the sound is quickly cut off once you lower yourself onto his cock. "F-Fuck", he gasps, his hands on your hips suddenly tightening. He groans through gritted teeth, feeling your warmth embrace the tip of his cock. Letting him stretch your tight hole, you pause every couple of inches, just slowly making progress. But it was enough to get Ao’nung on the verge of loosing his composure.
Squeezing his eyes shut, all he could feel was the suffocating heat all around his cock, swallowing him whole, inch after inch. All he could do was lay there and try to control his rapid breathing, groaning loud and deep the further you sank down.
You’re so tight, so incredibly tight, it’s like nothing he has ever felt before. It was a vice like grip that squeezed his cock for all it’s worth and you hadn’t even started to move properly. Exhaling another shaky breath, he finally felt you snug against him, which made him pry his eyes open slowly.
"What’s wrong, hm?" You said, cocking your head at the man below you. "You’ve always got such a mouth on you, pretty boy, what happened?"
Ao’nung couldn’t even react, his breath cut off completely and his eyes rolled back into his head as he felt your hot walls pulsate around his length.
"Bit off a bit more than you could chew, huh?" You giggle softly. Looking down at yourself, you couldn’t just feel but see the very prominent bulge of where his cock was nestled deep inside you.
"Fuck, you’re so big", you said with a smile. Ao’nungs eyes were so heavy with lust as he stared at you, biting his bottom lip hard enough to taste copper in order not to loose himself right here and right now. But you weren’t making it very easy for him.
"Look how much you’re stretching me out", you whispered, before taking his hands from your hips and repositioning them to rest and the bulge of your stomach. "You’re so deep inside me, can you feel it?"
And then, torturously slow, you lifted your hips up. The combined feeling beneath his big palms and also his cock, of him sliding out of you, drove Ao’nung close to madness. He was almost completely out, only the tip resting inside you, when you stopped. You could see the self-restraint in his feverish gaze, his pupils grown so much his eyes were almost fully black now.
"Ready, big boy?"
He wouldn’t possibly know what to be ready for, so he just nods, drunk of lust.
You don’t sink down nearly as slow and carefully as just a few minutes ago when your body still had to adjust to his size. You slam yourself down and Ao’nung makes a sound that’s close to a punched out moan. He feels the head of his cock nestled against your cervix, pressed right against the opening to your womb and it makes him physically shudder.
His back arches and then your hands find leverage on his chest and you start bouncing on him.
"Oh eywa", the metkayina gasps loudly, "Are you trying to kill me?" The soft, velvety walls of your cunt squeeze around him at his words and his eyes almost cross at that. "You– shit, you feel so good. You’re so– so tight, fuck!"
Instead of a verbal response, you just grin and decide to let your body do all the talking for you. Starting with a pace that he least expected now, moving your hips hard and fast— lifting yourself up and down on Ao‘nung cock and spilling moans that he felt deep to his core. His cock almost slips out each time, before you slam your hips back down, turning him into a moaning, whimpering mess.
Ao’nungs toes curl at the feeling of your tight heat swallowing him over and over again, and you felt the way his cock throbbed heavily inside you. He was so close, so so close. His mouth was slightly agape as he watched your breasts bounce with every thrust, providing the perfect view of yourself, moving how you pleased without a care for anything else. There was so much salvia pooling in his mouth, Ao‘nung felt like a starved man forced to stare at his favorite dish right in front of him.
With the way you plunged his cock into your pussy over and over again, deeper with every thrust, he was certain that it must feel like he was already in your stomach. And you were moaning like that was the case. The sounds you knocked out of his throat were a mixture of groans, grunts and sweet whimpers, whenever his dick knocked on your cervix like an iron hammer –until it was all too much for the poor man.
"I- Stop, shit, slow down", he managed to force out, his hands squeezing your hips so hard you knew they would be bruised by tomorrow. That didn’t stop you from riding him, though. "Eywa woman, you’re gonna make me–"
"You’re eating your words yet, hm?" You cut him off, switching from bouncing to grinding yourself against him, circling your hips as if you were trying to spell his name.
"H-Huh, what?", he tries, but fails to understand what you were trying to say, once your walls seem to suffocate him, squeezing around his length particularly hard. "Oh sh-it!"
A smile pulls at your lips. You’re enjoying this far too much.
Leaning forward you press your lips against his, then move from his mouth to his jaw, places open mouthed kisses on his throat and up to the tip of his ear. Your blunt teeth graze his lobe and then you whisper, "You said you would ruin me for all of my kind. But who’s ruining who now?"
"Okay, I- I get it", he says in a breathless moan. "Shit, please, you–"
"Say it", you demand with a harsh thrust. "Who’s ruining this big, strong warrior for all of his kind?"
"Y-You!" Ao’nung groans, his hips raising off the bed as if to chase the tightness of your cunt as you lift yourself up and then down again. "You do, fuck, you’re ruining me!"
"Hmm, you’re so loud", you hum, "It’s like you want everyone to hear how good the little tawtute’s making you feel."
It's not enough, the slow drag of you pulling out, and then the harsh thrust of him filling you up again. It’s not enough but it's also too much, too good! Ao’nung can't take anymore.
"I– I’m gonna come!" He groans, throwing his head back in bliss. "I can’t– ca- hngh– you just feel so good, I’m gonna fucking come!"
"What, already?", you giggle, "That’s so sweet."
His excitement suddenly overwhelms your control, and he thrusts up into you, fast and hard as he begins to come. He drops his head onto the mattress, suddenly weak with the pleasure rushing through him, and his cock jerks inside your warmth. You feel the pulse of his blood pounding, pounding, and Ao’nung pushes in one last time as deeply as he can.
"C‘mon, do it then", you say between moans, your voice bouncing from the sheer force of his jackhammer-like thrusts. "Come for me, baby. I want you to come inside me, make me feel good."
Sweat was already beading at his forehead, curses being hissed through clenched teeth as he held you steady and plunged his cock into you over and over again.
Ao’nung couldn’t think straight anymore. You were still so tight, so good, every inch of his cock sliding into you made his brain turn into goo. It felt like waves of water rushing over him, drowning him in the feeling before something pulled him out and his lungs finally filled with air.
Ao’nung comes hard, shaking and squirming beneath you as his hot seed fills ever inch inside you there is to fill. The sheer intensity of it is enough to help you tumble over the edge with him, and you find his lips just in time to moan into each others mouths, tongues curling and lips sucking the other in. It’s so filthy, so wet and messy, it takes you a hot minute to realize the na‘vi underneath you has grown limp before you stopped grinding against him.
You go still for a minute, just smiling at the mess you’ve made out of the man that had so much to say about ruining you earlier that night. And then, almost casually, your hips roll up in a gentle thrust. Ao’nungs breath catches on a noise, and even he isn’t sure if it's pleasured or pained, nerve endings still flayed and raw-open. He’s so overstimulated from the tightness of your human cunt, he shudders when you finally lift yourself up and off of him.
Finally, Ao’nung pushes himself up to one elbow, words forming on his lips, but they're lost on a ragged gasp as you gently push him back down by his shoulders.
"What- what are you doing?" He chuckles in disbelief, his eyes eagerly following your every movement. His cum still oozes out of you in a thick flow, the sight alone so obscene it makes his cock already half hard again. His hands reach out to hold you, but you remove them, before shuffling to straddle his head.
"You can still talk, Ao‘nung. And when I say I’ll ruin you, I mean it. Now lay back down and let me see what else that dirty mouth of yours is good for."

I Love You, I Trust You, I See You
When people thought of the Sully family many thought of your siblings. They thought of Lo’ak who was always a troublemaker, causing chaos everywhere he went. They thought of Kiri who seemed so in tune with her surroundings that she might as well be Eywa herself. They thought of Tuk who was the youngest, still enamored by everyday life. They thought of Neteyam, a strong leader who would someday take on the role of Olo’eyktan after your father.
They never thought of you.
You who always seemed to be in your own little world. You who never had any friends. You who never talked. You who always seemed so attentive to the world around you, yet had no desire to join it.
When you were born after your twin Neteyam, a spike of fear had run through everyone in the room when you began to cry, but no sound came out. They feared you may not be breathing right, you may need your airways cleared. They feared something was wrong, and that was true.
When your parents or siblings thought about your family, they thought about you. They thought about how funny you were, always cracking jokes when there was a chance. They thought about how kind you were, taking a moment to check on everyone daily. They thought about how different you were than most.
They thought about you. You who couldn’t hear.
You always seemed to be in your own world, and that drew many away from you, they didn’t want to be friends with someone who they didn’t think was paying attention to them, and to be fair you weren’t paying attention to people most of the time. You preferred to direct your attention to the world around you, always keeping an eye out as you couldn’t hear danger coming.
When you had been caught by Quaritch and his men you had panicked, more than everyone else at least. You didn’t know what was going on, you didn’t know what they were saying, your lip reading was not dependable, and definitely not in english.
When your siblings arms were bound you couldn’t keep yourself calm, now you had no way of communicating, they couldn’t translate for you. Tears streamed down your face, eyes closed as tight as possible to try to calm yourself by blocking out the outside world.
When you felt your captor’s grip on your release your eyes shot open, looking around at the damage around you, multiple avatars dead on the ground. Then you ran, you ran faster than ever before in the first direction you saw.
You ran and ran, eyes trained on everything around you, and when you ran into someone and they grabbed you again it was like a shock. You let out a scream, the first noise anyone had ever heard you make. A noise nobody was aware you could make.
You turned to dead weight in an attempt to get out of their grasp, panic coursing through you again as your eyes couldn’t come into focus. However, the person dropped to the ground with you, pulling your face towards them and holding it still as you tried to thrash. Then they blew air into your face, and you realized you were safe.
When you were younger you would throw temper tantrums, as children do, where you would close your eyes to refuse to listen to your parents. Not being able to see them meant no sign language, which meant no having to listen to them. However your father found one thing always worked, blowing air on your face. Your eyes would shoot open, highly offended with your mouth dropped open, before you would sign at him, “Your breath is gross.” in retaliation.
You had never been more relieved for your dad’s stupid way of getting you to listen. Your eyes finally came into focus and you calmed down seeing his face, but that calm quickly turned into crying, sobbing. You couldn’t help but let out all of the pent up emotion inside of you, but eventually you calmed down and were able to stand back up, staggering your way home with the rest of your family.
Some time later when your parents had been arguing in your family kelku you hadn’t been paying attention as your siblings were, all huddled against the wall. You had been lost in your own world once again, not wanting to know what was being said as you were still processing what had happened earlier. You didn’t need anything on top of that as you feared it would make your careful stack of emotions you had constructed come tumbling down.
They had come tumbling down though as your parents announced you were moving, leaving. Leaving everything you had ever known, your home, your grandmother, the forest you loved so much. You couldn’t help it as you cried again, being held by your mother this time.
However as you thought about it you weren’t that sad. You had always liked the water, everyone not having to hear underwater made you feel more included, more like you belonged, and you had heard the Metkayina used sign language. Maybe this would be a chance to make friends for the first time in your life. Maybe you would be able to talk to people for once, nobody at home taking the time to learn American Sign Language, as your father had called it, like your family had.
One thing you hadn't taken into account was that they used a different version of sign language, but that had become very apparent when you first jumped into the water with Tsireya, Ao’nung, and Rotxo. They used signs you had never seen before, ones you didn’t recognize. You couldn’t help but feel a little beaten down at dinner, staying quieter than usual, not signing as much.
Afterwards your dad had asked you to step outside, waving a hand towards you as he exited the marui.
He sat down on the pathway, and you knew he expected you to join him, so you did. You sat next to him with your feet dangling in the water, looking out towards the horizon, refusing to look at him so you didn't have to have a conversation.
That didn’t last long though as he poked you in the arm, causing you to look at him offended, mouth open and eyebrows raised. He took this as his chance to speak, “You okay, kid?” He signed.
You sighed deeply, fidgeting with your hands before signing, “I’m okay, dad.”
You could tell he didn’t believe you, lips pressed together in a thin line and eyebrows furrowed, “You’re less talkative. What’s wrong?” He signed, proving he didn’t think you were telling the truth.
A frown came to your face, feeling like it was permanently there after the past few days or so, but you continued, “I’m disappointed.”
He raised his eyebrows, surprise and confusion on his face, “About what?”
You looked away from his face, instead choosing to watch his hands, you didn’t want to see the pity on his face, “We don’t speak the same language. I can’t communicate. Everyone else can at least talk to each other.”
His face softened, but you didn’t see it, “It’ll be okay. You’re a fast learner, so you will learn their language quickly, then you can make friends. If anyone actually wants to be your friend.” He meant it playfully, and you saw him laugh, so jammed your elbow in his ribs.
Then the conversation was over, your mom poking her head out of the doorway and saying something to your dad. He just stood up and gave you a look like he was asking, “You good?” and you nodded, “Yes.” back in return.
After your father’s words of encouragement you decided to work harder, learn faster, determined to be able to communicate with the people around you, and a few weeks later you were excelling whereas your siblings were still struggling. They were caught up on the differences of Metkayina sign language versus ASL but you had grasped that there weren’t differences, or similarities, and you would just be learning from scratch.
Even though you were doing well at it, working your way towards being fluent, you were worried about talking to the people, mostly because of one person in particular, Ao’nung. It was as if Ao'nung was determined to ruin your siblings' lives, and yours, but you didn’t know that.
You had seen Ao’nung’s attempts to cause hell for your siblings, nagging at them, laughing at them, and even trying to start fights, with Lo’ak in particular. Him messing with your siblings made you frustrated, but you weren’t aware of the taunts meant to make you upset, and laughing that was meant to make you feel like a target coming towards you from a distance.
The bullying towards your siblings had become more and more frustrating and you had begun showing your anger at home, being rougher with things than usual, and not wanting to go outside of the shared family marui.
It had been peaceful while you and your mom had been working on dinner, but she noticed you seemed to be far off, handling the food with rougher hands, “Are you okay, (Y/n).” Neytiri signed as you placed another fish over the fire.
You rolled your eyes at her, upset she was even insinuating something was wrong. In reality there was, but you didn’t want to admit that, “Yes mama, I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” She had asked back, concern on her face as she looked at you closely.
You signed, “Yes.” Trying to end the conversation, but you knew she would just keep pushing.
You saw your mom think for a moment, her face scrunching up in concentration, “Well I am not.”
You frowned more, once again feeling like it had always been there since you left the forest, “Not what?”
She was frowning too now, “I’m not sure you’re fine. I see you isolating yourself. Even from me and your father.” She grabbed your hands, squeezing them gently to show her love in a little way.
Tears welled in your eyes, frustrated tears, tears that came because with all the stress recently they were the only way your brain knew how to process, to cope.
You pulled your hands from hers to wipe at them, “I’m sorry.” was all you could say.
She wiped the tears falling down your face before saying, “Why?”
You sniffled, running your hands down your face before signing, “I see Lo’ak, Kiri, and Neteyam being picked on, and there is nothing I can do. I can’t stand up to the bullies. I can’t say anything.”
“Okay, well soon you will be able to say something. You are learning their sign language, yes? I’ve heard from your siblings you are out working them.” She smiled at you and you could really see how proud of you she was.
You couldn’t help but crack a little smile although tears still threatened to fall, “Yes, mama. I’m getting better, but I’m worried it will be too late though.”
“I’m sure you will do your best, my ‘ite.” She thought for a second, “Why don’t you go try to talk to these kids tomorrow?”
You sighed, you didn’t want to, but you knew your mom would nag you until you agreed, “Okay. Love you.”
She smiled lovingly at you, “Love you too.” before pulling you into a hug.
When tomorrow came you didn’t even want to leave your marui, but you found the strength to do so. You did some of the breathing exercises Tsireya had taught you to try to calm your nerves, and they worked for the most part, steadying you and clearing your head.
However as soon as you stepped outside your marui you regretted it, not wanting to do what you had promised to your mother, but you knew you had to eventually. Eventually, which meant you could fool around as long as you wanted beforehand, and so you decided to settle down for a quick nap on the beach.
When you laid down and closed your eyes you quickly and easily fell asleep. You were still tired from last night when you struggled to sleep from your anxious thoughts.
When the Sullys moved to Awa’atlu Ao’nung thought they were weird, knew they were weird. He took a particular hatred towards the older Sully kids, Neteyam was the perfect little follower, Lo’ak was constantly in trouble, Kiri was always off in her own world, and you. Just you. You seemed to always ignore him and never talk, but what he didn’t know was that it's because you couldn’t hear him.
Ao’nung tried to not let anything get to him, especially when it came to people he didn’t like, like the Sullys, but for some reason you, (Y/n) Sully, had peeved him more than anyone or anything else. He had grown tired of you ignoring him when he shouted or laughed at you, like you didn’t even notice he was there, tired of you flat out avoiding him sometimes as you scurried away when he tried to approach you.
Of course he knew why, he had the same intentions to bully you and make you feel unwanted in Awa’atlu as your siblings. Of course you didn’t want this so you spent most of your time avoiding him, but for some reason instead of him not caring about it, it made him want to get under your skin even more.
When the sun rose today he decided today was the day to act. Today he would confront you head on, face to face. He would make you notice him, and he would make you feel awful in the process. So he gathered his friends, his goons, and they set off to find you.
They first checked with Tsireya who was with the rest of your siblings, but you were nowhere to be found, they all insisted they hadn’t seen you. Then they combed the beach, going from one end to the other, and on the far end they found you peacefully asleep on the soft sand.
He couldn’t help but notice how cute you looked asleep and peaceful, but he quickly shook it off, shouting at you, “Wake up, freak!”
He was targeting your extra finger and the hair above your eyebrows, like he had your siblings because he knew that got to them, and hoped it would do the same to you.
When you didn’t stir he tried shouting again, assuming you were awake, but trying to act asleep to avoid him, “What is wrong with you? Do you not care or are you stupid avoiding me?”
His friends laughed at you when you still didn’t move, eyes not cracking open and your breathing staying the same, so he took the next step, trying something physical. He kicked sand up and over you and finally you stirred, sitting straight up and looking around for the source of the sand, and when you saw him your heart dropped, a lump forming in your throat.
“There we go, now you are paying attention.” He snickered.
You tried to read his lips, but he spoke too fast, and you just stayed silent. You cocked your head to the side, eyebrows drawn together in a look of confusion.
You hesitated for a second, but were about to sign something when he spoke again. “Do you not speak? A silent freak, interesting.” You still didn’t understand exactly what he was saying, but his friends all laughed at you, and although you couldn’t hear it it made you feel small.
“I’m sorry. I can not hear you.” You signed, using Metkayina sign language this time.
He scoffed, “I do not believe that. I think you just don’t want us to bother you, but here we are.” He laughed in your face.
“Please use your hands.” You tried to communicate, but they just wouldn’t listen to you.
“No.” He sneered, this you understood, one single word.
Your mouth dropped open, offense written all over it. You knew he was disrespectful, didn’t care about others feelings, but you would make him care, “I can not hear. I am deaf.”
He was about to retort against you again, but when he had been searching for you earlier that day Neteyam knew he meant trouble, so when he found you he stayed in the shadows, watching, but now Ao’nung had taken it too far.
He surged forwards, anger consuming him, “Step off bro. She can’t hear you.”
“Yeah that is what she just said.” He rolled his eyes, “I do not care though, it is better if she can not hear me. Means I can make fun of her without her knowing.” He signed the last part so you could understand.
You shrunk back, standing to hide behind Neteyam. You tugged on his arm, “It’s okay.” You signed.
“It’s not okay, (Y/n).” He rubbed a hand down his face, turning to Ao’nung, “You need to leave her alone.”
“Whatever.” Ao’nung scoffed before turning and walking away.
Now he knew why you seemed to ignore him, you just didn’t know he was talking to you. You were probably avoiding him because you didn’t know their sign language yet. He felt bad for some reason. He usually wouldn’t feel bad about his bullying but with you it felt different now knowing this.
He couldn’t show his feelings though, worried about his little group making fun of him, but he slowly started to back off of you, and your siblings some as well. Whenever one of his “friends” would ask why, he would reply something like “We can not make fun of a cripple.” and roll his eyes, still a jab at you, but less so.
At some point you became all that consumed his thoughts, on his mind at all times, and whenever he would see you with his sister, or your siblings, he would feel the need to insert himself into the conversation, but he always refrained. He wanted to talk to you, to apologize, but he feared judgment from his “friends” who are just as nasty as he was.
Eventually he couldn’t hold it in anymore, heading to your marui to ask to talk with you, in the way you would understand. When he knocked on the doorway of the family home Lo’ak was the first to notice him, glaring at him and nudging Neteyam in the side, directing his attention towards Ao’nung.
Neteyam stood before either of his parents even noticed the boy in the doorway, stalking over to him and dragging him down the pathway so they could talk, “What do you want?” He hissed out.
Ao’nung cleared his throat, but the words still came out small, nervous, “I came to apologize to (Y/n)...”
“No.” Was all Neteyam said before turning away and starting to walk back into the Sully family’s home.
Ao’nung grabbed his arm before he got too far away, “Please. Please let me talk to her.” He begged, something he didn’t like to do, but it was necessary.
Neteyam sighed, “Fine, but if you do anything I will chop your head off myself.” He threatened the boy, “I’ll go get her.”
It wasn’t long before you stepped out of the marui, a frown on your face and hands he could see shaking, “What do you want?” You signed, hands shaking with nerves.
“I came to say sorry.” He started off, “I’m sorry for bullying you, and your siblings. I promise I won’t do it any more.”
“And?” You asked, knowing there was more.
He looked nervous now, hands shaking as he signed, “I wanted to extend the offer of friendship.”
You looked shocked now, “You want to be friends with me?”
He nodded his head, smiling shyly, “Yes. Absolutely.”
You smiled this time, relieved he would be leaving your siblings alone, and excited to learn more about him, about what he was really like under the bad boy shell, “Okay, friend.”
He just nodded at you, “I have to go now. See you at lessons with Tsireya tomorrow?”
“Of course.” You responded.
When you entered the marui again everyone's eyes were on you, a light blush on your face, “I made a friend.” You smiled.
You could see your parents cheering and clapping for you, but your siblings' faces were unsure, you would have to reassure them later but for now you were all having a family night, playing games and handing out things you had made for each other with the new resources you were getting used to using. They were clunky and awkward, but you would get better, it reminded you of something, of someone.
As days passed into weeks you and Ao’nung had grown closer, him pretty much taking over your lessons, stealing you away from Tsireya who was sad to see you go, but happy for her brother for making a friend, a real friend, not one of his goons that tended to hover around him at all times. You had seemingly broken down his bad boy aesthetic and his goons had since left him, moving onto another leader to follow, still as nasty as ever.
You were grateful for him letting his walls down around you, allowing you to see him, and soon you did. You saw him as more than you ever had before. You couldn’t help but think about courting him, of trading little handmade gifts, and sharing little intimate moments of happiness throughout the day.
It seemed as if he wanted the same as he began bringing you gifts, starting as a little armband he made from you out of hard to find shells he had spent many hours trying to find, then it moved onto necklaces and bracelets. Each was more intricate than the last.
When this started you began to bring him things too, poorly made things because using dried seaweed and palm leaves were different from the materials of the jungle, but you managed. Even though they weren’t the best quality he proudly wore them, gladly accepting every gift you would give.
Everyone had noticed by now, the traded jewelry, the touches that lingered a little too long, and the longing looks when you weren’t together. What baffled people most however was not Ao’nung’s seemingly peaceful side coming out, but the fact that neither of you had officially come out and asked if you were courting.
You were courting, you both knew that, but Ao’nung wanted to put it into words, he wanted to make it official, but he felt the need to fix a couple things first, to get a couple blessings.
So he went to the person he thought would be easiest first, your mom. She had seen you two from afar and already had talked to you about it, encouraging you to pursue him and get what you wanted. She had said she was not Tsahík, but Eywa had shown her signs. So when Ao’nung asked she immediately gave him her blessing, knowing this was something not just he wanted, but something you wanted too.
Then he went to your dad. He was a fierce warrior who commanded respect, and Ao’nung tried his best to be respectful, carefully wording his proposal of courting his daughter. Of course Jake had been hesitant at first, but eventually he caved after Ao’nung had mentioned he already had Neytiri’s blessing.
Finally he went to Neteyam, your twin brother, your best friend since birth. Neteyam was adamantly against it, wanting nothing to do with Ao’nung, and wanting his sister to have nothing to do with him either. He was still on the edge of forgiving Ao’nung, swaying over a cliff where falling meant forgiving Ao’nung for his wrong doings, and when Ao’nung explained his love for you, his intentions to never hurt you and treat you with the respect you deserve Neteyam fell over the cliff, giving the Metkayina boy his blessing.
Once he had gotten their blessings he had invited you to the beach where he had first intentionally seeked you out. You were hesitant to go back there with him, but you gave in, trusting him wholeheartedly.
You love him. You trust him. You see him.
When you got there he pulled you to sit down with him, you both facing each other, and he signed, letting his heart out, letting his feelings show, “I am sorry for any times I have hurt you. I was an ass and a fool, and I wish I had never caused you upset or harm. I am sorry for bullying your siblings too, they did not deserve it, but I was scared by the new people and what they would bring. I now see I should have helped like my sister. I should have been making you feel at home here, not doing the opposite.”
“It’s okay. We’re past that.” You reassured him.
He nodded, continuing, “Now I see how special you are. I see how much you’ve changed me and my views on life. I am grateful for the person you have shaped me into. I am grateful I got the chance to make it up to you. I want to court you. Officially.”
You felt your heart swell, butterflies in your stomach, and you were sure it was showing on your face, “I would love that.”
You moved your hands carefully to cup his face, holding it there as you looked into his eyes, hoping he understood how grateful you were for him too, then you pulled him in, lips brushing against each other before they fully made contact. It was magical, unlike anything you had felt before, and you were happy it was him making you feel this way. So happy, so loved.
When you pulled apart he smiled widely at you, grabbing your hands and giving them a gentle but tight squeeze before using them to say, “I see you. I see you.”
You sign your thoughts from earlier, “I love you, I trust you, I see you.”
He doesn’t say anything else, just smiles, and pulls you back in for another kiss, and you feel at peace. You know he is yours, and you are his. You know he will never leave you, and you will never leave him. You know he loves you, and you love him. You know he sees you, and you see him.

Not a moment in your life felt more tiring than right now. It had been so long since you were able to properly walk on solid ground when you had to stay on the Ikran for your entire journey, and when you slowly opened your eyes to see the mangrove island in the distance as Lo’ak shook you awake, relief flooded your entire body.
The view surrounding you was like a breath of fresh air. After spending your entire life in the forests, the waters were a new sight you could get used to.
Though the welcome you got didn’t feel so welcoming. The dislike you felt towards the Olo’eyktan’s sons grew more and more each day they picked on your siblings.
And then you noticed the tingling feeling. Maybe he thought he had been discreet enough, but you weren’t daft. You could feel the eldest brother’s stare at your back when you weren’t looking, and the lingering gaze he’d have on you when you were doing the most casual things.
Ao’nung had always picked on you the least from the beginning, and he’d make sure not to pick on any of your siblings whilst you were around.
Which was why Lo’ak often brought you with him and insisted he clung to you when he had to meet them, just like right now.
“Would you stop that,” you snapped, shoving your twin’s hand away.
“Come on. That prick likes you and it’s disgusting.”
“So what if he likes me? He’s not that bad.”
“Yeah,” Lo’ak scoffed. “Only because he doesn’t pick on you.”
You ignored Lo’ak, skipping your way through the Maruis’ pathway with your siblings behind you. Although Lo’ak and Kiri would tell you of the terrible things Ao’nung and his friends would do when you weren’t around, you couldn’t seem to understand how terrible they actually were.
“Hey, careful.” You were too busy looking back at your siblings to pay attention to where you were going. A pair of hands gently gripped at your arms, steadying you when you bumped into their chest.
“Hey,” you greeted Ao’nung softly as he pushed some distance between the two of you. Rotxo was snickering behind him and Lo’ak just looked purely agitated at your exchange.
Your twin grumbled as he went around you and Ao’nung, Tsireya and Rotxo following behind him. Neteyam lightly flicked the back of your head as he and Kiri passed by. When you glared behind you, you saw the teasing smile on his face as he looked at you before refocusing his gaze to the front.
“Come on, let’s go,” Ao’nung said, nodding to your siblings.
It wasn’t as if you were bad at this. You’d just been here for a few days and water was not your area of expertise, that’s all. At least, that’s what you tried to believe when you and your siblings lagged behind the Metkayinas again for the fifth hundredth time.
“Here. Let me help.” You turned around to see Ao’nung behind you, his hand outstretched towards you.
From the corner of your eyes, you could see Lo’ak giving a silent look of protest to Neteyam who just shrugged in response when you hesitantly took the Metkayina’s hand.
“Deep breath,” he instructed.
When you dove under, you could feel yourself being pulled, making you move faster than usual with Ao’nung’s help.
The corner of his lips curved upwards when he saw you still in awe at the sight surrounding you, even after seeing it plenty of times. It was what had attracted him to you in the first place; the way your eyes would shine when you’d so easily fall in love with your surroundings.
‘It feels better when you look around’ Ao’nung was careful to make sure he used words you had already learned from them. ‘Not worrying about swimming faster’
‘You swim too fast’ you protested. At this point, you were getting more confident that you knew plenty enough words with the hand signs.
Ao’nung shook his head before swimming closer to you. You were about to back away when you felt the rock that was against you, causing your heart to speed up.
‘Is this okay?’
‘Yes’
‘Can I…’ Your brows furrowed in confusion at his last hand movement. Maybe there were words you had missed after all.
Ao’nung took notice of your confusion and brought a finger to your lips in answer. You felt your pulse quicken and every sober thought dissipated from your mind.
You could barely think, let alone remember how to move your hands to say yes, so you just nodded.
At your approval, Ao’nung cupped your jaw, bringing you forward as his lips connected with yours. His other hand pulled you closer by your waist as yours rested on the nearest part of his body it could find.
You felt lightheaded, and you couldn’t form a single thought when his thumb was gently stroking your waist while his lips moved against yours in a way that made your stomach turn.
It was only when you pulled away, you realized your mistake. Ao’nung might’ve been adapted with the water his entire life, but you weren’t, and you came to realize that as you felt the lack of oxygen from the surrounding water.
Luckily, Ao’nung was quick to react, pulling you upwards with him towards the surface. You gasped once your head was out of the water and Ao’nung wrapped his arms around you as you leaned on him for support.
“You okay?”
“Great.”
The kisses happened more frequently than you’d thought it would. When you were swimming, he’d lead you behind a huge rock or coral to steal a kiss underwater. When you were separated from your siblings, he’d lead you somewhere enclosed to kiss you.
You were walking alone back to your Marui at night when you felt hands pulling you into a secluded corner. Your first thought was to scream, but you felt a hand over your mouth, muffling whatever terrified noise you were about to let out.
There was no room to see who had you in their hold when it was dark and you were constantly hitting and kicking in an attempt to escape.
“Relax, it’s me.” Your movements faltered and your breathing steadied when you heard Ao’nung’s familiar laugh.
“Skxawng,” you scowled and hit him in the chest. “I thought I was going to die.”
“Sorry,” he apologized, prying your hand away from his chest and bringing it up to his lips.
Ao’nung took a step closer and pulled you forward by your hand as he leaned down to meet your lips with his.
It wasn’t the usual quick and chaste kiss he’d steal from you. This time, Ao’nung took his time, making sure to leave you breathless afterwards from the stroke of his thumb on your thigh, and the low groans he’d let out.
“I need to go check on the ilus,” Ao’nung whispered against your lips as he pulled away.
Your disappointment was fully on display for Ao’nung to see, and you hoped it was enough to make him stay a little longer.
“You owe me for scaring me,” you argued as he distanced himself even further.
“Next time.” He kissed the corner of your mouth. “Promise.”
Before you could let out any more protests, Ao’nung was already gone and you were left leaning against the mangrove wall with your mind still partially stumped.
You quickly shook off the daze you had and resumed your walk back to your Marui. Dad and Kiri were outside, their feet dipped in the water when you passed by, and you could hear Neteyam speaking to your mother inside.
“Have you seen Lo’ak?” Neteyam asked the second you entered the Marui. Your brother looked like he had just ran laps around the village.
“What no. Why?”
“I can’t find him. I saw him last with Ao’nung.”
“I was just with Ao’nung.”
Neteyam groaned in frustration before running out through the entrance.
“Hey! Wait up!” you called out, tagging along behind your brother.
“Where is he?”
“Near the ilus,” you answered, trying to keep up with Neteyam’s fast pace.
There weren’t that many people around, but still enough to slow you down and you wondered why they couldn’t have made the pathways much wider.
You walked around the people lingering in your way, occasionally muttering apologies when you’d bump into some of them by accident.
“Ao’nung.” You heard Neteyam call out as you finally caught up to him. Ao’nung turned to face your brother and then he noticed you.
“Do you know where Lo’ak went?” You spoke before your brother could.
“I haven’t seen him since the sun was still up,” your brother interjected. “I saw him last with you. Do you know where he is?”
Neteyam noticed the way Ao’nung’s eyes would constantly shift to you. He wasn’t oblivious. Neteyam knew and although he wanted to shove a fish up Ao’nung’s mouth whenever he’d flirt with you, he could also tell how much you liked the Skxawng.
Your brother sighed and grabbed the Metkayina’s shoulders with his hands, leading him away and out of sight from you.
He left no room for you to complain when he glanced back to give you a look, just as you opened your mouth to say your arguments.
It certainly felt terrible being kept in the dark, especially when you saw your brother dragging Ao’nung to your dad and ignoring your questions.
“Tell him what you told me,” Neteyam ordered, slightly shoving the Metkayina forward. Your dad looked just as confused as you were.
Ao’nung’s eyes shifted to you before he let out a defeated breath and faced your dad. “I told Lo’ak we were going hunting outside the reef. We led him to a spot and then left him there.”
“But,” continued Neteyam when he saw Ao’nung’s hesitance. “The area’s home to dangerous hostile creatures.”
“What?” your dad asked in disbelief, the same time as you did. Though yours sounded more like a genuine question; baffled that Ao’nung would pull such a thing.
Your father wasted no time and got up, already heading towards Tonowari, with Kiri left trailing behind him.
“What? How could you? He could be dead by now.” your words sounded more pleading than angry, and Ao’nung felt his heart sank even more when he finally realized how hurt and betrayed you looked.
“I-“
“Don’t touch me,” you hissed, backing away when he tried reaching for you.
“Listen I-“
“You heard what she said,” Neteyam warned, stepping in between the two of you. “Back off.”
If Ao’nung hadn’t looked devastated before, he definitely did now. The Metkayina stepped back and watched as your brother put an arm around you and guided you past him.
“You okay?” Neteyam asked, glancing down to look at you.
“Yeah.”
If you had listened to your siblings when they’d told you how terrible Ao’nung had been treating them, maybe you wouldn’t have to feel so betrayed by his actions. It wasn’t as if Lo’ak hadn’t tried to warn you in the first place.
-
“You know he apologized right?”
“Mhm,” you hummed in response without looking at your brother. “You’ve told me five times.”
“Don’t you think you should talk to him? He sulks when nobody’s paying attention, especially when his friends flirt with you,” Lo’ak reasoned from the opposite side of the room.
You hated to admit that you also did the same and it was probably obvious. There were times where Ao’nung would try apologizing, but you easily dismissed him and kept conversations short. You’d speak with him as if you were to speak with any other Metkayina, but you still had that barrier of tension in your friendship.
“I did.”
“You barely said a sentence.”
“What am I supposed to say?” Meeting Ao’nung was the last thing you wanted to do, but you didn’t want to seem like you were completely avoiding him by declining his request.
All you could do was walk in silence beside the Metkayina as he led you away from the village and closer to the shore.
It should’ve felt apprehensive following him alone at night, yet all you felt was curiosity as Ao’nung leaned down by a small rock to fetch something.
“What are you doing?” you asked. It was probably the first full sentence you’ve said to him ever since you met up tonight.
“Taking some food for the little guy.” Just as you were about to question him further, you heard the tiny chirping coming from the water.
Ao’nung walked deeper into the water as a tiny ilu emerged, its bioluminescent freckles glowing in the night. He threw the fish slightly above the air for it to catch in its mouth.
If there was anything that tugged on your heartstrings more than seeing the view underwater, it was the creatures that swam in it. You’ve never actually seen a baby ilu, only a full grown adult, and Ao’nung knew the path leading straight into your heart.
“Don’t you want to say hello?”
Skxawng. He knew you wouldn’t be able to resist and he wasn’t wrong.
“Here,” Ao’nung said, offering the small fish in his palm.
He watched as your fingers lightly brushed his as you took it and you couldn’t hold back the smile that came to you when the tiny creature chirped happily as you threw the fish at it.
Ao’nung mimicked your smile at the sight of the heartfelt interaction. He felt like he could finally breathe again. He’d always loved the smile you had whenever you were in awe with the environment and its creatures.
“She was born a few days ago,” Ao’nung informed, gently petting her head with the back of his fingers. “Wasn’t allowed to separate from her mother until this morning.”
The ilu turned to you, flapping its tiny flippers in the water before approaching you. As you reached out to pet her, the ilu swam away, leaving you confused at what you did wrong.
“That’s her mother,” Ao’nung answered your silent question and you turned around to see the full grown ilu freely swimming in the distant.
Now that your source of comfort swam away, you suddenly realized the situation you were in. Ao’nung was nearing you and you still had no idea what to say to him.
It wasn’t as if you wanted to give him the silent treatment on purpose. You just had no idea how to fix things when Ao’nung purposely left your brother to fend off for himself in a death trap.
“You already know what I’m going to say, but I just want to fix things between us,” he started. “I’m sorry for what I did and I hope you can find it in you to forgive me. Can we just- start over?”
Instead of forming any sort of answer in your head, you did the most impulsive thing you could have possibly responded with.
You could feel Ao’nung’s heartbeat under your palms when you placed your hands on his chest and leaned forward to give him a soft kiss.
“I already forgave you.”
To say the adults were surprised was an understatement. Ronal was bewildered at the news. Though you rendered your parents a tiny bit speechless, they didn’t seem to show any negative reactions towards your relationship with the chief’s son. Kiri and Neteyam had been betting amongst themselves on how long it would take for you to man up and finally not deny whatever was going on between you and Ao’nung.
It took a while for the news to sink in, but once it did, the two of you became more annoyingly endearing to watch than anything.
“Would you stop that? My eyes are going to explode if I have to witness this any longer,” Lo’ak protested as Ao’nung kept annoying you, which only looked like flirting in everyone else’s eyes.
“No, no. I want to see what she does to him.”

he’s…what?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing ; jealous! ao’nung x f!sully! reader
taggings ; 🪽⭐️🐚
summary ; ao’nung quickly falls for the sully sister after she arrives in his village, but who is this boy she keeps talking about?
3.1k words
Tumblr media
when you and your family had first arrived in awa’atlu you hated it. the sound of ilu’s chirping and waves thrashing against the sand wasn’t normal. the smell of salt was disgusting. there were no trees to shield you from the suns rays or give you coverage when you wanted to be alone. no grass or cool dirt to dig your feet into.
this wasn’t your home; you belong in the forest. you had been chased out of your home after having a knife held to your throat by sky demons; obviously you weren’t happy to be here.
your nerves certainly were not eased when the tsahík of the metkayina, ronal, had grabbed your four-fingered hand to show the crowd. you were instantly met with hisses and snarls from the lighter blue clan. you gently trembled at her touch, less from fear and more from annoyance, and continued staring into the sand, trying to dig your feet into it like dirt. it was too hot; this wasn’t your dirt. your mother intervened, seeing your discomfort, and held you to her; raising her fangs towards the tsahìk. your father entered himself in hopes of calming the situation down, showing the clan his own 4 fingered hand.
when ronal had moved on and the attention focused on the leaders of the metkayina, you glanced up, seeing the ocean clan more clearly this time. you had noticed a girl and two boys closer to your family than the others; they looked around your age. the female was eyeing your youngest brother before her vision shifted towards you. she offered you a warm smile along with a small wave. you looked her up and down before giving her your own smile and wave, though you lowered your hand as you could tell she was now focused on your extra finger.
you looked beside her to see a taller boy with a bun, he had been the one to make fun of your brothers thin tails, the tail you all shared. you sighed and continued staring at the teen, for some reason you couldn’t stop. that was proved false when the boy looked your way, you diverted your eyes back to the sand as fast as you could. you hadn’t been able to see it, but the teal na’vi eyed you up and down silently. his shorter friend slapped his arm and laughed at him, whispering something you couldn’t quite pick up.
apparently whatever your parents and the leaders were talking about had been concluded. you heard the olo’keytans stern and loud voice speak out among the crowd, before he faced your family directly and spoke a bit softer.
“my son ao’nung, and my daughter tsireya will show you our ways.”
ao’nung and tsireya. the boy you had stared at spoke up in disagreement, leading you to his name being ao’nung, as well as him being the chiefs son. the kind girl had also made herself to be tsireya when she guided your family to your new home.
you walked among kiri, trailing shortly behind her. you followed tsireya and ao’nung had followed from behind you all, paired with his little friend.
“i do not like it here kiri.” you spoke as you looked up to face her.
she scoffed in return, “yeah me neither.”
Tumblr media
“these are ilu, if you want to live here, you have to ride.”
you and your siblings were all hip length deep in the sea, surrounded by multiple swimming animals, they were called ilu. they reminded you of your ikran.
the ocean siblings had been tasked with training you all to learn how to survive within their clan, and it was time to tame your animal.
tsireya first helped lo’ak, you already knew why. it was quite obvious. he had settled onto the creatures back and held onto the saddle. he made tsaheylu with the marine animal and she took off. you watched as your brother had tried to hold on as best he could but was ripped off due to the speed and pressure that being underwater included.
he had failed miserably and tsireya continued to guide him, but you couldn’t all wait for him. (you’d be there for years.)
ao’nung had invited you over a few feet to show you how to get your own ilu. he explained the process just as tsireya had. you mounted the animal and waited for instruction.
“hold here, when you make the bond, you need to think with her. not against her. let her guide you.”
after seeing what happened with lo’ak, you figured that was a load of bullshit and you would be swept away too. you gripped on the saddle with one hand and grabbed your braid with the other.
“your position is wrong.”
the blue teen pushed your back down and shifted your legs. the feeling was different, the extra skin on his arms were odd. your heartbeat quickened for a moment and the ilu beneath you flapped her fins.
“there. remember, bond gentle.”
you connected your kuru with the creature, and took off. you panicked for a little until you were reminded with how dramatic lo’ak is. he had made this look like such a hard task, it really wasn’t too bad. the water pressure threatened you but you were able to manage. you tightened your grip and squeezed your eyes shut. as you felt the tide flow with you, you slowly opened your eyes. you instructed your ilu to slow it down, which she listened too.
the sea wasn’t horrible. there were so many new creatures you had never even known about. you looked among the fish and corals as you smiled at the sight. feeling your chest begin to tighten, you and your ilu went back up to the surface, swimming closer to where you had left the others.
tuk was the first to congratulate her big sister, “that was so cool (y/n)!”
“yeah way better then lo’ak”, laughed your eldest brother, neteyam.
“ok bro, who invited toruk makto?” your youngest brother was always the jokester, and you laughed at the reference.
looking back at your mentor, you noticed ao’nung hadn’t held any malice or laughter towards you, you took that as a good sign.
Tumblr media
throughout the training of your family, you had sectioned off into unofficial groups. tsireya tended to assist lo’ak and tuk, while ao’nung helped neteyam, kiri, and you. ao’nung had tried selling you off to tsireya because he was upset he had to deal with three sully’s while his sister only had two. she had argued that having tuk was basically like having two in one, and she stood with her statement.
with annoyance, he taught you what you all needed to know to adjust to the ocean. most of his lessons were filled with sighs and reprimands when someone would do something wrong, but that had started to fade lately.
“what do you mean ao’nung is nicer? no he isn’t? he still makes fun of us during training…”
oh.
it had only began to fade for you.
well this was fine, neteyam was probably just exaggerating. after all, he was certainly a charmer yesterday.
. . .
“you are not breathing right.”
you and ao’nung sat on a jagged rock in the middle of the reef, he was giving you a private lesson on holding your breath because apparently you were falling behind. (not true.)
you looked at him as he demonstrated how to intake the air and hold it, but it just looked like normal breathing. you tried to repeat what he did but it still wasn’t good enough for him.
“what are you even doing? are you even breathing?”
you rolled your eyes and looked away from the teal teenager, he was so dramatic.
“pay attention to me forest girl,” he redirected your face back towards his.
he placed one of his wide hands on your smaller diaphragm and the other where your heart layed.
you panicked at the sudden contact and prayed he couldn’t feel your heartbeat pick up beneath his touch.
“eywa please i never ask for anyth-“
“your heartbeat is fast. that’s why you cannot breathe.”
thanks great mother.
Tumblr media
despite the metkayina’s teasing, he had genuinely seemed to adjust to you. you two spent more one on one training together and even hung out when it wasn’t time to train.
it was nearing eclipse when ao’nung had come to your families marui, unfortunately, your father had noticed him first.
“what are ya’ doin’ here boy.”
the shorter navi hesitated for a moment until he was able to speak up,
“i’m- i’m here for (y/n.) sir.”
your father looked him up and down with a stern look on his face. ao’nung was convinced he would be thrown outside by toruk makto himself. jake grunted and leaded down into your new friends face.
“she’s back by 10 before eclipse. a second after and i’ll cut your tail off. she comes back with even a hint of your touch on her i’ll drag you deep into the ocean by your braid and leave you there. understood?”
“yeah- got it.”
“i said understood.”
“uh-understood sir!”
your dad sighed before finally alerting you of the conversation,
“(y/n!) visitor!”
you showed up at the door as your father was walking away, and was greeted with the sight of ao’nung shaking in the sand.
“hey ao’nung! you alright?”
he eyed the exit, indicating you to leave with him. once you step out he grabbed your thinner arm and ran towards the shore, looking back for the deadly gaze of jake sully.
“oh my god (y/n) why didn’t you tell me your dad is fucking terrifying.”
you giggled and brought your hand to your lips, trying to conceal it.
“whatever, no big deal, follow me.”
despite his ego being damaged, he led you along the shore, pointing out some shells he though you would like on the way. you two eventually made it to the more foresty part of his island, farther from the clan.
you were unaware this area existed and instantly fell in love. it had been months since you had seen a tree. the sight reminded you of your home and it brought you so much happiness. you glanced at the back of ao’nungs head as you continued to follow him where he led. you two made it to a part of the small forest that opened out into the beach. you could see the sunset and water clashing onto the sand all from behind a tree.
“ao’nung! this is so beautiful, it’s just like the forest!”
“well yeah, that’s what i was hoping for..”
he was hiding his flushed face but you could hear the smile he was trying to hold back.
“come!”
you grabbed his arm towards a tree you deemed was tall and had enough branches. effortlessly, you climbed up the tree. you jumped and stood on branches, easily making it to the high thin branch you wanted. you had planted your left leg and arms on the branch as your right leg hung down.
the lighter blue na’vi watched you and his mouth dropped open. he had made fun of your family for being poor divers, but god you were good at climbing. him and his friends would break the branches if they were to ever try that.
“get up here!”
“yeah…i don’t think so.”
you quickly remembered you were among the sea people now, and their bodies simply weren’t built for climbing like you were.
“ah right.”
you hopped down onto a lower branch then the ground, the teen boy staring in aw yet again. you ran up to him and pulled him into a hug while giggling.
“thank you ao’nung, really. this was great”
he scoffed in embarrassment and rubbed his neck,
“yeah, we’ll there’s actually one more thing. i was just wondering if you’d l-“
you cut him off before he could finish his question.
“this is just like what txäol would show me!”
what.
Tumblr media
ever since the first mention of this “txäol” they kept coming.
no matter how many times ao’nung tried to get you to like him more, it always ended up as a talk about txäol.
“ao’nung this necklace is so pretty! it looks like the one txäol gave me!”
“txäol used to say that! he’s super funny.”
“oh eywa this shell would look great next to the flowers txäol gave me!”
you were beyond oblivious at the way ao’nungs eye would twitch when you brought up your best friend from back in the forest.
it was a comment on the gifts he’s given you, or the stories he used to tell you, or sometimes you would show the metkayina boy some things the omatikayan gave you before you left the forest.
ao’nung raised his concerns with tsireya first. she was pretty close to you, so he thought she might have some intel.
. . .
tsireya automatically burst out laughing when her brother questioned her.
“your-your joking right? sweet eywa, your so funny! your helpless brother- truly!”
“what- tsireya what are you talking about?! who is txäol?!”
“oh-oh my eywa i cant-“ she continued laughing.
“is he her boyfriend?!”
this just caused tsireya to start laughing again. she gripped her stomach and bent over, unable to stop the giggles that flowed out of her.
“whatever- your never any help! i’ll just ask her!”
and so that’s what he did.
Tumblr media
the teal teenager approached you while you were mounting your ilu, getting ready to go hunting.
“(y/n)!”
you turned your head to the sound of your name and saw ao’nung riding his own ilu towards you.
“oh- hey! did you need anything? i was just about to head out.
he had been torturing himself over this question for so long he just cut to the point.
“is txäol your boyfriend?!”
you paused and had no words. your ilu had picked up on your shock and had even dropped her own jaw.
“t-txäol? h-“
you were cut off by the reef na’vi.
“if he is- just tell me. i understand if you have a lover back home that you can’t forget about. all i’m asking is you let me know!”
“he’s n-“ you tried to speak before you were interrupted again.
“i just can’t deal with the not knowing! i see you, (y/n), and i need to know if you see me too! you talk about this txäol guy all the time, so if your in love with him instead, tell me! i won’t be an-“
“he’s gay!”
oh.
Tumblr media
bonus!!
the sky people had finally returned back to their planet, and wouldn’t be coming back this time. this meant your people were safe. you could go back to the forest! back to the forest…
when you first arrived at the reef, all you could think about was going home, and how happy you would be. but now that home was right in front of you, you just couldn’t. not without ao’nung.
you two had recently began courting each other, and had plans of mating once you both completed your rite of passages. you couldn’t leave him behind now. so if you couldn’t leave him behind..why not take him with you!
. . .
you yipped for your ikran, calling her down to the sandy shores.
“seyä! hi girl!” you rubbed her nose and cleaned off some sand off her head.
you mounted seyä and invited ao’nung to do the same.
“no fucking way.”
“she doesn’t bite!”
“yes the fuck she do? look at her!”
“aww you poor thing..is he being mean to you?”
you rubbed your ikrans head and made tsaheylu. she flapped her wings and screeched, scaring the hell out of ao’nung.
“yeah there’s no way i’m going anywhere near that th-“
he was cut off as seyä picked him up under his arms using her claws, flying up in the air. you giggled and grabbed ao’nungs hands, pulling him up behind you on the saddle.
“that wasn’t so bad- right?” you could swore you saw a tear running down his face, but he denies it.
. . .
the fly had taken a few days and you were exhausted, ao’nung had given you company and made sure to hold you extra tight when you were getting tired. if it wasn’t for him stopping you to make you sleep, you probably would’ve flown while sleeping.
after what felt like years, you finally arrived back at the forest. you flew over the trees until you saw the omatikaya people, your people. your smile had began hurting your jaw as you landed your ikran on a tree, hopping off and landing on the branches. you would just jumped right down but you had to help the metkayina.
“here- just..place this foot here. and then this arm right here.”
it took awhile (32 minutes) to get him down around 7 branches. it usually took you a few seconds, but who were you to judge.
he mainly just trailed behind you as you greeted so many friends you had missed. he felt like the outsider now, surrounded by darker blue people with thin limbs. he stayed back until he heard someone scream your name. a boy scream your name.
“(y/n)! oh my eywa- your back!” he ran up to you and embraced you in the tightest hug out of everyone else.
ao’nung looked this guy up and down and frowned at him, about to step in and announce himself as your boyfriend until you spoke up.
“txäol! oh i missed you so much-!”
oh. him. the metkayinas anger was reduced, but still present. this boy was all over you! how could he not be upset? he stepped up closer to you and wrapped his hands around your waist, hugging you from behind.
“oh- txäol meet ao’nung, ao’nung meet txäol!”
txäol raised his nonexistent eyebrows at how the boy hugged you and eyed you. he would definitely need you to tell him about everything he missed.
“i’m txäol, (y/n)’s best friend!”
“ao’nung. her mate.”
you kicked ao’nungs knee, trying to get him to be nicer. he was still jealous and god did it show.
“speaking of mates..” txäol started.
you stared and him and gasped. “your lying.”
“(y/n) meet ityea, my boyfriend.”
a shorter omatikayan male entered from the forest and held txäol’s hand. you screeched. like loud. ikran loud.
“txäol oh my eywa i can’t even- you guys are so cute!!” you hugged your best friend and spun around.
“right?! but no- you guys too! i can’t believe you found someone in another clan- you guys are adorable!!”
ao’nung backed up and grounded himself. right. he was gay.

Aged Up Ao’nung x Size Kink | Human Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Size kink, p in v, major size difference , belly bulge, dirty talk
Tumblr media
He was staring, your tiny human body trembling under him the farther he pushed into you. That huge bulge in your stomach, the only thing his eyes were concentrated on. Shit did that look good on you, all nice and filled up by your giant of a boyfriend.
‘N-nung’ you whined out, quickly snapping him out of his trance. His eyes darting back to your flushed face, his hands moving towards your red cheeks.
‘Yes baby?’ He cooed lovingly, stopping at the tip of your cervix. Brushing the hair out of your beautiful face, so small and fragile he thought.
‘I-it’s so big’ you mewled, filling fuller then you ever had. His cock stretching out your tight little pussy, making a home for himself inside of you.
‘Cause your so tiny baby’ he teased, hands outlining the curves of your tiny frame. God were you adorable, 2 times smaller then him and a whimpering mess. He leaned down and kissed your cheek, smirking at the way your eyes fluttered closed at his touch.
Slowly his hips began moving, admiring the way he could see his cock move in and out of your tiny cunt. His mushroomy tip hitting your cervix as your small moans and whimpers became more frequent. His giant hand being able to wrap 2/3 of the way around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
‘Shit your tight’ he hissed from above you, the way you clenched around his length had him seeing stars. His lips found yours in a second, his tongue gliding into your mouth deliciously. Your small hands holding onto his head, gripping onto his hair tightly. He relished in the way you pulled onto him, weak hands forcing him closer.
‘F-faster nung’ you begged, pulling away as your hands wandered down to his shoulders, nails digging deeper into his turquoise skin.
“Tight little pussy” he grunted, his hands gripping onto your waist, leaving marks for tomorrow. The smell of your arousal and sweat mixing together as he pounded into you with a deadly speed. God did he feel good, hitting your sweet spot with every thrust, arching your back as he pulled you closer.
‘Such a good girl’

Refuge
Tumblr media
previous | part 2 | next
word count: 4.3k
language: Tsahík- spiritual leader
description: Confused by your avoidance Ao’nung frustration only seemed to build. Convinced he wanted to play you push him away. Backed into a corner the na’vi has to make some bold decisions.
Tumblr media
Ao’nung did not understand why you were still angry with him. He had apologized to your sibling and even bit back his words, not teasing them as much, but your cold shoulder did not waver in the slightest. His sister sensing the tension had not paired you with him at all for the past week and it was starting too eat away at him. He did not know why he craved your attention so, but it was driving him insane. Barging into his family’s mauri his annoyance was evident. Placing himself onto his mat he sharpened his weapon body language full of agitation.
“You are frustrated brother?” Tsireyas voice was soft as she turned her body too face her older brother. She had an idea why he was angry but the she needed to hear it from him. “Why?”
“That woman she is unbearable! She will not even glance my way! You would have thought I killed her mother.” Casting his knife aside a sigh breached Ao’nungs lips as he turned too his littler sister. “You have been no help always stealing her from me.”
“I have done no such thing, I just thought you did not wish too teach her because..” Puffing her cheeks Tsireya looked for the right words. “The obvious tension.”
“Yet you pare me with the man I literally fought with.” A giggle left Tsireya as she looked at her brothers deadpan look. “Maybe that is the reason she will not speak too you. You did fight her brother after teasing Kiri because your day was bad.”
“No, I am fine with everyone but y/n! I gave the family a gift and all the Sullys talk with me freely.”
“So you have done all this so she will forgive you?” A purple hue cascaded over Ao’nungs cheeks as he looked away from his sister. The man’s pride would not allow him to admit the efforts he went to for something as simple as your attention. “Oh my Eywa you like Y/n!” Tsireya shrill voice filled the mauri as she squealed.
Running to her big brother she pinched his cheek with a smile so big her cheeks began too hurt. “Mother and father will be so happy you found your tsahík!” Swatting Tsireya hand away Ao’nung scoffed at her words. “It does not matter if she will not even look my way.”
“It could have been something you said. You have my tendency too talk…offensively without knowing the impact of your words.” Suddenly entering the conversation Ronal entered the mauri focusing her attention on her eldest son. “Have you been ease dropping?” Ao’nung asked an unamused look on his face. “Does not matter now who is too be my successor I must start training her!”
“She does not wish to have anything to do with me it is no use.” Rolling her eyes at her sons words Ronal sat in front of her two children. “You are to be the chief everyone desires you. If they do not make them, show her your intensions.” Smacking her eldest on his head Ronal rose too her feet once more. “Now grow some balls and court this na’vi! A confrontation is not that hard son.” Placing her hands on her mouth Tsireya attempted too muffled her laughter. Gathering herself the young na’vi followed her mother avoiding Ao’nungs death glare. He could not wait too get out of his family’s Mauri.
Tumblr media
“Why do you still ignore Ao’nung?” Looking over too your sister confusion covered your features. The two of you were sitting on the very shore line the incident had happened. A broken sapling the only proof of the altercation between Ao’nung and your family.
“You know what he did too us, too Lo’ak.” Almost as if you were stating the obvious you crudely answered Kiris questions. Humming in response kiri placed her hands behind her, resting her body weight on them. “We have made peace y/n, why do you hold this grudge, it is unlike you.” Looking away from Kiri you hug your knees too your chest. You were at a loss for words, you did not wish too tell your sister about your feelings. It was already embarrassing enough that Ao’nung had played with your heart for so long. It was degrading knowing how desperate he perceived you, you did not wish for anyone else too form the same view.
“So sorry we are late! Are mother kept us.”
“It is fine.” Responding too Tsireya you mentally thanked Eywa. She had saved you from the pressure of answering Kiris questions. Rising too your feet you were quick to walk over too the girl, shooting kiri a sheepish smile. Rolling her eyes at your avoidance Kiri followed your lead as the two of you met the Siblings half way. Focusing all your attention on Tsireya you purposefully avoided Ao’nungs gaze, hoping that the man would disappear if you focused hard enough.
“I was thinking we could split up even more today. Since y/n is still struggling with Ilus she can stay here with my brother. He is one of the na’vi with the best knowledge of the sea animals.” With a smile decorating her face Tsireya looked between the two of you. She was obviously looking for approval and that was one thing you were not about to give.
“Actually-”
“That would be perfect!” Speaking over you kiri loudly agreed. Face morphing into a glare you looked at your sister. Kiri only wore a smug face as she peered at you. “Let’s head too the healing hut Tsireya.” Nodding enthusiastically, the na’vi waved goodbye, than motioned for kiri too follow. Watching your sister walk past you a wave of nerves washed over you. “Kiri-” As her name breached your lips her yellow eyes turned too yours. The look on her face was enough too shut you up as your ears pinned too your head. Tail drooping and ears down turned, you turned too face the na’vi in front of you, his form standing tall.
He seemed too be nothing but pleased at this arrangement as he looked down at you. It was a visible change in his attitude from the first day he was stuck with you, if anything he looked excited. Confusion clouded your brains as you examined the na’vi not sure why he seemed so please. “Don’t worry forest girl, I don’t bite.” Smirk plastered on his face he placed a hand on your back, guiding you too the water. Shying away from his touch you did not speak a word as you walked into the water, waiting for him to call an ilu. You pretended too not notice how his playful demeanor slightly shifted. Ao’nungs face twisting in dissatisfaction? You did not know. The only thing you knew was today was going too be a long day.
𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅
A hefty sigh left Ao’nung lips as he rested his hands on his hips. “You can not ride the ilu as if you are bear back your legs must make adjustment.” Piercing your lips together you attempted adjust your body correctly. The instructions that seemed to have been said hundreds of time repeating in your head. Looking at your new adjusted form Ao’nung couldn’t help but pinch his nose bridge in frustration. It did not help that you had not uttered a word this whole time, simply humming in acknowledgment. “You know a word or two would help me understand why you are struggling.” Ao’nungs eyes seemed too pierce yours as he walked through the water over too you. It did not take long for the warrior to be inches away. His ocean orbs seeming to be waiting for a response as he stared with an expectant look.
Avoiding his gaze you turned your eyes too where your hand held the ilu. Adjusting your grip you attempted too ignore his obvious request for you too speak. As a response an annoyed groan left the na’vi lips, making your stomach slightly drop. “Than we will do this the hard way.” The words left his lips in a hiss. The questions filling with his intensions soon answered as you felt a strong grip on your thigh. A slight yelp left your lips at the contact, head wiping towards the na’vi. He wore a slight smirk as he peered at you moving your legs into his desired position. It only took moments for all the blood too rush too your face a purple hue decorating your cheeks. In your mind you attempted to remind yourself that he felt nothing but you failed to stop the butterflies from invading your stomach.
Reaching over too adjust your other half you felt your heart race. His face was inches away from your stomach. His hands quickly positioning your leg the way he wanted. His salty yet musky scent entering your nose. You did not realize how much you enjoyed his smell until he pulled away, admiring his work. “Scoot up a little for me.” Attempting to follow his instructions you slid your hips up too the end of saddle. A small laugh left the na’vi mouth as you did. “Here.” Ao’nungs hands finding their way too your hips slid you back slightly. “Perfect”
“Ao’nung” Ears perking up at the sound of his name the male quickly focused his attention on you. A slight smile decorating his face. Heart beating rapidly against your rib cage you couldn’t seem too get your words out as you admired his features. It seemed that all your thoughts were scrambled as his hands rested themselves on you. It was amazing what a simple touch seemed to do. Mouth opened like an idiot you only seemed to be able to stare as the hue on your cheeks darkened.
Gaining slight composure you brung your hands too rest on his. Seeming too get the message Ao’nungs ears lit up. Quickly removing his palms from your hips, he tucked them under his arms. Awkwardly cleaning his throat the na’vi looked the other way, avoiding your gaze. “Well, let see how you do go ahead and ride under.” Expertly covering up his embarrassment he ushered for you too continue. Humming in response you were quick too obligue. It seemed as if this was your hundredth time under the water as the familiar feeling engulfed you.
Although, this time it felt as if you were gliding through the currents. The struggle of fighting to stay on the ilu gone as the water glided around you. The pull of the water running through your hairs as if it was apart of the ocean. Breaching the water a rush of adrenaline filled your body. Your joyful laughter filling the area. Whipping your head around you were quick to find Ao’nung. Smiling brightly you swam your ilu over too his, happiness radiating off of you. “Did you see that! I have done it!” Overcome by excitement you launched your body into Ao’nungs. Arms wrapping around his neck you broke your bond. Your ilu swimming out from under you.
Looking up a smile mirroring yours adored the na’vis features. Ao’nungs arms quick too find your body. Wrapping an arm around your waist he quickly used the other too bring your body over his ilu. “Should of stayed with me, you would have had it down day one.” Stomach sinking at his words you suddenly remembered why you have not been with him. Smile dropping you unlatched your hands from around the male. An embarrassment like no other flooding in as regret settled in. You had literally just thrown yourself at him. Ears pinned too your head you avoided the na’vis now confused gaze. Ao’nung did not understand why your mood had done a full one-eighty.
“I am sorry, I got too excited.” Clasping your hands over your legs you starred down at the waves lapping over your thighs. Suddenly a light hand was placed over yours. His touch was gentle but it could not stop the whispers of doubts from entering your mind. “You are fine Y/n, your achievement was worth celebration.” You could only hum a response as you tried too calm the thumping of your heart. You hated how Ao’nungs presence only seemed to make so many doubts and feeling swirl. Your body and brain not knowing which one too display.
“I will swim back.” Awkwardly shifting your body off his ilu you submerged yourself into the sea. You felt a slight emptiness without his touch as you sank into the water, but that was just another feeling too add too the confusing mix. It seemed Ao’nung was not wiling too give you a break from the conflict he created in you as he was quick too dive in after you. ‘I will swim with you’ signing from above a slight smirk decorated his face. Motioning for him too follow you began to make your way back too shore. Being in the ocean always brought a feeling of peace yet you could not seem to admire the ocean life. Eyes constantly peering at the na’vi next too you. His curls flowing with the currents around him, his body moving effortlessly. It made your heart pang with a familiar pain. He was so beautiful yet that seemed to be the exact reason why he could toy with you as he pleased.
Finally breaching the water you gasped for air. Hoping to inhale as much as possible before making your way too the shore. Ao’nung who breached soon after seemed fine as his breathing settled quickly. You heard the water splash as his form followed. It was obvious he had no intension of letting you escape him. Feet finally touching the dry sand you turned too face the na’vi. Eclipse settling around the both of you. Ao’nung bioluminescent freckles shined with pride as he looked down at you. Taking a deep breath you met his ocean eyes. Ears perked up he waited for you too speak, hopeful for a positive exchange.
“What do you get out of this.” Gaze hardening you looked into him. Eyes furrowing at the question he slightly cocked his head too the side. “What do you mean?” Confusion evident in his tone he questioned you. A heft sigh left your lips as you ran your fingers through your braids. “I do not understand why you continue too play with me. My heart can not handle this, why don’t you leave in peace.”
“I am not playing with you.” Attempting too grab your hands you harshly jerk your body away. “Cut the shit Ao’nung go play with a Metkayinas heart.” Harshly rejecting his action you pull away from his touch. Confusion warped his features at the foreign word leaving your lips but he did not back down. “Why are you so resistant! I have done everything, yet you still deny me!”
“You know you have no real intension with me. You enjoy playing with my feeling taunting me and my brothers with the fact that I admire you. I am tired I cannot live like this! I will stop myself from wanting you so please let me move on.” Eyes glossing over you turn away from na’vi. “Goodnight Ao’nung.” The goodbye left your lips harshly as you sped away from him. Standing there like and Idiot Ao’nung watched your form retreat. He could not seem too process the words you had dumped on him. Too stunned by the fact that you wanted him.
Despite the fact that you had stormed away with the intension too not speak too the male again he couldn’t help the smile that played at his lips. Bringing his hand too his face he covered his growing grin as his stomach swirled with butterflies. The indirect confession had the na’vi swooning. Tail swaying in excitement he rushed back too his mauri. He knew exactly what he must do.
Tumblr media
It had been a day since your interaction with Ao’nung yet your melancholy mood did not leave you. Lo’ak, taking notice too this, attempted too drag you out the mauri but too no avail. You refused your brothers attempt to cheer you up insisting you must stay too help kiri and your mother. You were thankful too Neteyam for dragging your twin away understanding you needed time. Your eldest brother was always intuitive, never pushing you too speak before you felt comfortable. Shooting him a half smile you thanked him, waving goodbye too the two males. You felt a relief like no other knowing the pestering would finally come too an end. Thanking Eywa Tuk’s instructor wanted to take her this evening. There was no doubt your mother and sister had noticed your low mood as well. The both of them treading around you as if the slightest mistake would make you snap.
Currently the three of you were preparing dinner. Wrapping fish and herbs into the seaweed for your mother too cook later. Conversation flowing fluidly between the woman to your left as you worked in silence. Thoughts consuming your brain as your hands worked slowly. It seemed that all your thoughts reverted too him. It made you want to scream in frustration. No matter how hard you tried to think of something else Ao’nung dominated your mind. It was torture. No matter how many harsh facts you reminded yourself of, your heart still called his name. Fingers struggling too seal the seaweed together you slammed the food down on the mat. Hands running through your braids in frustration. Silence filled the Mauri, both woman looking too you with concerned eyes.
“How about we take a break.” Breaking the silence your mother spoke. Placing the food too the side. “How about a new style on Y/n? Your braids have been in for quite a while.” Kiri suggested. Nodding in agreement you accepted her suggestion silently. You knew your braids were fine, but braiding each others hair has always been a way for the woman in your family comfort each other. Occasionally getting the person too open up. Placing themselves behind you the two of them began too unbraid. Helping with the ones you could you attempted too unbraid the front.
Soon your mother’s humming filled the mauri. Immediately recognizing it as your song cord song you felt the tension leave your body. Water running through your now unbraided hair you allowed a tears too flow down your cheeks. No longer being able too hold in your emotions. A vulnerability usually only your family had the luxury of seeing. Continuing too prepare your hair no words were spoken, yet you were given the best comfort you could receive. Your mothers songs resonating in the mauri. Kiris soft touch as she combed out your hair. The gentle yet firm tugs at your hair as they corn rowed it back. A calming feeling filling your soul as the ocean waves could be heard in the background of it all.
Before you knew it Eclipse has fallen. Their hands leaving your scalp as they admired their work. The top of your hair corn rowed back, connecting at the top too your queue to make one huge braid. Your mother left one small braid in the front too shape your face. Admiring their work you couldn’t help but allow a smile too form on your lips. “You are beautiful daughter.” Watching your admire yourself Neytiri wore a soft smile. The two woman proud too have lightened up your mood. Walking into the mauri your brothers were the first to return, their eyes finding you with the mirror.
“Woah look who got a make over.” Announcing their presence Neteyam was the first to speak. “Woah you actully don’t look like shit.” Of course, Lo’ak had to make a backhanded joke. Hissing at her second oldest son Neytiri lightly hit the back of his head. You and kiri could only laugh at Lo’ak scolding. Although the young na’vi showed no remorse. Neteyam could only shake his head at his brother stupidly, a small smile appearing on his lips. A soft mood filled the space around you as you felt your heart lighten. Basking in the presence of your family. Your father was soon to join the rest of you strutting into the mauri. A series of greetings followed as your mother embraced her mate.
“Where is Tuk Ma’Jake?” Peering behind him your little sister presence was missing. The mood in your home slightly dampened as you all shot your father questioning looks. “We have been invited to eat with Tonowaris family. It was implied that only adults should come so Tuk is having a sleep over with her instructors daughter. ” Looking into each of his children eyes he spoke too the whole family. “Ao’nung invited me this evening. I hope none of you have caused any more trouble?” All responding in sync you quickly denied your fathers accusation. A visible sigh of relief left him as his worries seemed to lift off him. A slight guilt pierced your heart, knowing you had slightly lied. But, you did not intend to come clean about the conflict, especially after seeing your fathers relief. “Go put something nice on.” Glancing at Neteyam and Lo’ak Jake slight cringed. “Especially you two.”
Smiling sheepishly the two looked down at their dirty loincloths. It was obvious they had been rough housing throughout the day. Moving too the girl side of the Mauri your mother undid your woven separator. You quickly began too pick out an outfit that was suitable, subconsciously wanting to look your best. “Here sister, wear this.” Pulling you away from your thoughts you peered at the outfit Kiri held in front of you. A light gasp leaving your lips. It was a beautiful top. Small pearls covered every inch of the string. The chest having seashell hanging in the oval shaped gaps too cover your breast. Along side it was a white loincloth with pearl straps on the side connecting the two pieces. “Do you not think it is too much.” voice dripping with doubt you admire the outfit with awe. “Of course not put it on. I’ll wear what you picked out.” Pushing the outfit into your hands kiri snatched your outfit from behind you. Looking too your mother she only shot you an approving smile.
Neytiri knew why kiri wanted you too look your best, knowing the theory Kiri had built around yours and Ao’nungs relationship. The two had even spoke about how he was possible the cause for your saddened mood. “Come on girls we don’t have all night!” Jakes booming voice filled the mauri, impatiences prominent in his tone. A series of grunts was all he got in return as the three of you shuffled into your clothes. Finally Walking out of the mauri the crisp night air greeted your skin. With your nerves building the six of you began your walk too the chiefs mauri.
𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅
Apon entering the mauri you were immediately greeted by Tonowari. The warm air of their home welcoming you in. Eyes wandering you took in your surroundings. There was set up of food around a small fire. All kinds of fruits, meats and beverages lined up perfectly. Ronal who seemed to be placing the last dish around the fire took her seat around the arrangement. Tsireya was already in a conversation with Lo’ak and Neteyam, her bubbly personality radiating from her very being, Mother and Kiri placed to the side of the Tsahík, and Ao’nung who seemed to be arranging something in the corner. Blood running hot you allowed your eyes too scan his crouched body. Admiring the sight you had not seen since the other night.
You felt your heart skip a beat as he turned your way. Ocean eyes scanning you from top too bottom as you had just done too him. Casting your gaze away you placed yourself next to your father, who was still conversing with Tonowari. Much too your displeasure, that seemed too be Ao’nungs next stop. The na’vi stood tall next to his father. Ao’nungs blue eyes peering down at the two of you. “Hello Jake Sully.” Turning his gaze too the young na’vi a friendly smile covered your fathers face. “Hello Ao’nung, thank you for inviting us here. I’m guessing for a special ocassion?” Following your fathers gaze you looked too the direction the na’vi had come from. Looking at the assortment it was clear no ordinary na’vi could have put this together. There were fish bones, Jewerly, necklaces, spices, furniture, and even meat! Which was extremely rare in the Metkayina clan as they usually only ate aquatic life.
Mouth slightly agape you couldn’t help but stare at the pile, your shock displayed on your expression. “Yes,, you could say that.” A light smile played at Ao’nungs lips as he responded, eyes glued too you. Feeling his stare you tore your eyes from the corner. “Oh yes, thank you for inviting us.” Eyes only meeting his for a second you couldn’t help but tear your gaze away. After the last meeting it was simply too embarrassing, your assumed rejection fresh. “Of course. You are beautiful tonight Y/n.” Eyes widening you look up too the na’vi. A dark hue casting over your face as you pierced your lips together. Looking too the ground you went back too avoiding his gaze, feeling like an idiot for reacting. Of course he still wanted to play with your feeling.
“Well why don’t we eat!” Tonowaris voice boomed through out the mauri, indirectly telling his guests too sit. Getting the message you all gathered around. You sitting next to your father with Tsireya too your left. Of course the na’vi in front of you had too be Ao’nung. Eyes casted down you avoided his eyes, feeling your stomach sink. If it was possible you felt as if his gaze would have burned through you. Your appetite lessening bye the second. “I am sorry we must excuse your youngest today. It is just we did not need her approval for our discussion tonight.” Ronald voice was the first too speak. Her blue eyes casted on your father. Eyebrows furrowing in confusion he met her icy orbs. “Approval for what exactly?” Motioning her hands too Ao’nung all eyes shifted too the na’vi. He sat confidently as he looked at your father. A determination on his face you had not seen before. Inhaling slightly the na’vi spoke words you never expect too hear.
“I seek the family’s approval too court Y/n”

Feels Like We’re Oceans Apart ( I. )

Ao’nung x Sully!reader x Sully!family
IN WHICH Ao’nung was dared to date the eldest Sully daughter with vitiligo, while Jake and Neytiri face the hells of parenthood with a child that’s different from others.
WC: 6k
Warnings: bullying, violence, misunderstandings, Jake and Neytiri trying their bests ok.
Tumblr media
You were born different, just like your little siblings Lo’ak and Kiri. Though their only peculiar features were their five fingers and hairy eyebrows, given their human genes. You were a little more than that, a little more than what the na’vi could handle. They had no issues welcoming a five-fingered baby into their clan, mainly because they were ruled by one.
It was a whole different story when Neytiri had announced the birth of an oddly coloured baby. Presented under the curious eyes of the clan, they watched as Jake held a tiny baby clutched to his chest. Your skin was initially dark blue just like theirs, but it was the strangely arranged white spots on your body that troubled them.
It was nothing like what they had seen before, and so their minds could only jump to conclusions. They weren’t familiar yet foreign to the existence of albino na’vis, but accusing Neytiri of being unfaithful to her mate was far-fetched. Mo’at and Neytiri were scared to death once you were born, face to face with a spotted baby. They both feared that you were born with some incurable diseases, which was not too far from the truth.
At least on this planet. Jake took his time to reassure his crying mate, telling Neytiri that it was not necessarily normal, but you weren’t dying. A trip to the human’s lab and a long series of explanations from Norm had reassured the both of them even more. Vitiligo was what the scientists at the lab had diagnosed you with. For them, upon visual inspection it was obvious of what you were suffering from.
“Stop moving, you little-“ the 13 year old Neteyam tried to restrain himself from cursing at you as you struggled in his arms. You were about a year younger than Neteyam, and his arms were still lanky and thinner than imaginable at the time, so holding you back was definitely harder than he could’ve imagined.
You were relentless, aggressive almost as you fought the invading urge to bite your way out of his embrace. But no, you couldn’t. Not again, not when your father stood a few metres in front of you as he stared you down with those unruly eyes of his. He looked at you as though you were some sort of stranger for a second, his eyes filling with an unfamiliar look before snapping out of it definitively. It was like Jake finally realised that it was his own daughter that was standing before him, and his ears dropped at the thought.
Blood dripped from his aching ear, the sounds of liquid plopping against the floor went unmissed by your heightened hearing. The two puncture holes in your father’s ears were the magnet of attention in the room, all eyes set on his injury like it was the most interesting sight of all year. All before he brought a hand up to rub the dribbling blood away, making his wound more visible before another bead of fresh blood covered the holes once more.
Neytiri simply stood beside her husband, little care towards his injury for the moment as she stared at her distressed daughter. You looked so out of it, and none of them could understand why. She felt Jake move away from his current spot, their shoulders brushing as the contact brought her back from her thinking. Neytiri watched as Jake walked towards you, inevitably calming you down slightly as he kneeled before Neteyam and you.
Your older brother almost dropped to his knees and started praying to the Great-Mother for the rest, his arms loosening around you just a little. The room was quiet enough for you to properly hear the shuffling of your smaller siblings, cluttered together at this side of your tent.
You felt your father’s hand come to lay upon your hair, caressing your hair lovingly in an attempt at soothing your nerves. Though you shied away from his touch at first, you allowed him to keep his hand there.
“You wanna tell me why you did that.” Jake tried again, his left ear fluttering involuntarily as he referred to his new injury. Never would he have thought that today was the day where he’d get physically assaulted by his own daughter, but parenthood is all about surprises.
His free hand came to rest on Neteyam’s shoulders, still being able to reach it from his kneeling position. Your father pushed your brother gently away from you, freeing you from his light embrace. Under his upclose stare, you couldn’t help but fiddle with your fingers like a little kid after getting caught sneaking candy. Your eyes bounced around the whole room, not once meeting his own.
You remained silent as you knew that he didn’t specifically want to talk about his injury, but rather why you had done it. It was all a blur of emotions, a rush of feelings that your father had interrupted. To him you were acting like a brat, but it was so much more than that to you. More of a realistic realisation than a childish tantrum.
Earlier this day, you had been spending time with a certain boy in the clan during an excursion. His name was Rangya, born a soft boy at heart in contrast to his stern father. He was nice and unlike the other kids in the clan, and you found peace in his presence. Eventually one thing led to the other, and the both of you strayed further away from your youth adventuring group.
It was dangerous out here for 2 kids of your age to be wandering around alone, and it didn’t take long for the group leaders to notice your disappearance. It was to your bad luck and stupidity that your father was a warrior, not even to mention the olo’eyktan, so it was his duty to go on the lookout for the both of you. His heart picked up the pace once he had heard your name coming out of the distressed woman’s name, who she was supposed to be keeping an eye on your class.
Surely Jake would give her a good talk later about it, but for now his own daughter and some kid were alone in the ruthless forest. Truth to be told, your adoration towards the boy ran a little further than a stupid childhood crush. No, instead you admired Rangya for his many traits at such a young age. He was undeniably the smartest and nicest person that you had ever met in the Omaticaya clan, and letting go of that could only be a fool’s mistake.
Though as time strayed and the sun cleared behind the moon, you failed to realise the way that the world was getting darker around you. Instead your new goal was to examine every single plant that surrounded the both of you, your hand clasped tightly into the young boy’s as he reassured you that it was only for your protection.
Now Jake was just there at the wrong time to catch an image of the wrong thing. It wasn’t like your hand in Rangya’s could be interpreted as anything else, or the fact that your faces were a little too close for comfort. It wasn’t that he was mad at you or the poor boy. Daughters had stupid, young boyfriends that father’s were opposed to, that’s how it usually went. At least that’s what he had thought that your relationship was labelled as. Matter of fact he had not even been visibly upset at you, but when he had demanded that you leave the boy and return back home, you knew that it was the end of it.
That once you arrived back home, your father would tell you that you had to cut off whatever dumb relationship that there was between Rangya and you. And so you did whatever you could to make the moment last, struggled, kicked and argued with your dad to put you back down as he had picked you up after you had refused to walk back home with him.
Jake’s eyebrows furrowed with frustration as you reacted in such a way. You’ve always been a calm kid, just like your big brother Neteyam. Though he had always thanked the Great-Mother that you were unlike his youngest son, because Eywa knew how much of a menacing duo you both would be. Now it confused him to no end as you kicked and cried in his arms, desperation thick in your voice as you begged for him to put you down.
Though he denied you of that right, instead dragging your breaking down frame back to your family tent. Chaos striked before Jake could even reach Bob, his loyal ikran. The sudden throbbing of his ear had caught him totally off guard, a hand unravelling from where he was currently holding you to hold onto his aching ear. It had not one single moment come to his mind that the perpetrator could’ve been you, but a single look at you had sold you out.
The crimson liquid that ran down the swell of your fangs was a dead giveaway, and the blood that covered Jake’s hand as he pulled it back down was like more evidence. If he hadn’t been angry at you before because of your bratty behaviour, then he sure as hell was now. He was livid, ears flung back painfully as it pressed onto his new injury. The top of his lips were pulled back in some sort of angry expression that he was trying to keep in.
You would’ve been lying if you said that you weren’t scared shitless on the way back home. The way that your father’s nostrils were flaring, and the fact that he refused to look at you once until you reached your family tent.
The recollection of earlier memories and the overwhelming feeling of your dad unknowingly pressuring you was too much. Too much for your little mind and frail heart to manage, for you had always been fragile at heart. Just like your mother, you had no fear in expressing your feelings physically rather than verbally.
Jake can’t help the frustrated sigh that leaves his mouth as he watches your ears fill up with tears, unable to tell him anything that he wishes to hear. He dipped his head all the way down to his chest as his hand dropped from your hair, exhaling once too quickly to regain his senses. You missed it as quickly as it came, the comforting feeling of your father’s touch. Your fingers were intertwined together as you fiddled anxiously with them, afraid once more of what your father thought of you.
“Fine, cmon lets just go and get checked up with grandma okay?” he asks rhetorically as he stands up, dusting his clean knees as a stress habit. He walked all the way towards the tent’s doors, barely having time to step a foot outside before his wife’s booming voice rang through his ears.
“Ma Jake, please just calm down for a second! You’re moving too fast and we can’t just leave Tuk here with them, they’re just kids!” Neytiri gritted her teeth as she scolded her husband, his eyebrows furrowed further than he thought they could as he listened to her. She bent down before you to pick you up into her arms, wrapping your arms tightly around her neck as she hoisted you up alongside herself.
What she was saying was true, Jake was truly going overboard and leaving their 5 year old daughter with their other young children was not all the most responsible. Although they all knew that Neteyam was more than able to take care of his family, they wished not to burden him anymore. He was spent from the hectic day of events that he had spent, and it was not fair to bear him of more responsibilities that were not his to care for.
But Jake was spent as well, he’s had a rough day and the churn of events that he had thought would be a nice and relaxing night with his family had truly roughed him up even more.
“Maybe we wouldn’t have to if we didn’t have to take such intense care of that child of yours!” he points a finger towards your mother accusingly, asif you were only her child. Asif it hadn’t taken the both of them to conceive you, like you weren’t his daughter. Though as quick as the words are to leave his mouth, he regrets them. He regrets the way Neytiri falls silent under his traitorous words, or the way you try to hide further into her neck in fear of catching a glimpse at your father’s angry expression.
He sighs again, and your ears cling further to your head at the sound of it. Jake’s expression falls at your body language, ear laid back, tail flat in between your legs and the undeniable sounds of your hushed sobbing. It breaks his heart that you cry because of him, that he had allowed such words to escape him. He’s scared you had mistaken his sigh as a sign of disappointment, and he’s much more scared of the death glare that his wife was giving him.
Though he didn't meet her eyes yet out of fear, he brought a hand back onto your head. As awkward as he always was while expressing himself, it doesn’t even feel like he’s able to mutter any sort of apology to you at the moment, and you feel your heart ache at the fact.
“Watch your mouth.” Neytiri grits out at Jake, teeth firmly grinding together as she speaks. She spoke out every syllable with a pricised articulation so he could hear every single one of her words right. She was angry, undeniably at her husband but now was no time to dwell on things. The faster that they would get ready to leave, the faster that Mo’at could get you checked up and you could all return back home to a good night's sleep.
-
The days after your little unexplained temper tantrum had been unexpectedly quiet for you. Unlike your ongoing personality around your parents, and your usual loudmouth that just loved to talk back to your dad, you were as silent as a rock. Your father had not even gotten to apologise yet, because Eywa knew how awkward he would be added to the fact that you refused to speak to any of them.
It was obvious that you were avoiding them just as you were avoiding the other kids in the clan. You complained each time that your mom forced you to leave the tent, and that was about the only time where you’d be audible. Neytiri was overwhelmed with the undying fear that she played a part in sending you into some sort of mutism. She cried to your father at night, when they were supposed to be enjoying their night between lovers as they laid under the stars.
She just couldn’t shake the worries away, no matter how much time passed. Until one day she brought up to Jake what she had overheard about you. She had dragged Jake outside of their tent, watching you from the corners of her eyes as you played with your handcrafted dolls. It worried Jake that Neytiri looked so on edge, asif she had heartbreaking news to deliver to him. And that was exactly that.
It didn’t take long for your mother to catch onto what the other kids in the clan were saying about you. Her ears pinning tightly against her skull as she heard the nasty nickname coming out of a child’s mouth, one that was designated for you. Not to add to the fact that their parents already thought you were the spawn of the devil himself, confused as to why Eywa had blessed you with life. It broke her heart to pieces because she couldn’t do anything about it, no matter how much she reprimanded those kids and their parents, no matter how many times she scolded them. Kids will be kids, and you’d always be the ‘ugliest girl in the clan’.
No amount of herbal paste would change your disorder and no amount of grovelling would erase what those kids had said about you. Though in Neytiri’s eyes, she’s always believed you were as beautiful as the sun. As every mother thinks of her children, she thought that you were blessed by Eywa with an utter beauty. But not everyone had eyes like your mother, they were cursed with the blindness of judgement. Neytiri would never fail to remind you of how good you looked in her eyes, that you were born special for a reason. That other kids picked on you because they were basic, and you were unique.
She poured tears as she spoke the same words as those kids to your father, wondering how anyone could be so heartless to her daughter. How anyone had the guts to talk down the child that she had carried for so many months, and birthed under the protection of the Great-Mother. How parents could allow their kids to speak ill of you in such a way, she’d never understand.
Jake connected the dots in his head, thinking that maybe that’s why you had acted the way that you had on that day. Maybe because you were ‘the ugliest girl in the clan’ or maybe it was because Rangya didn’t think so of you. He didn’t believe that you were what those kids had nicknamed you as, and Jake had selfishly ripped that away from you.
Though he believed that he was in the right, because no child of 12 years needed a boyfriend anyway. He should’ve just let you be, maybe then you would’ve realised so on your own. You would notice that the only reason why you wanted to be with that boy was because he didn’t treat you like the others. But now it was too late for that, and your father had stripped you from the potential future that awaited you with this boy.
He let out a grunt of disappointment, moreso towards him than towards the guilty children. He couldn’t help his gaze from flickering from his sobbing mate that he was hugging tightly against his chest, and back towards your innocent frame that was still playing inside of the tent. Kiri was now next to you, brugudly so as her eyerolls said.
She held one of your wooden dolls in one of her hands, moving it comically as she played around with yours. There was a glint of something else behind those annoyed eyes of hers, some sort of hidden glee. Perhaps not because she was playing with those stupid toys of yours, definitely not that. Maybe it was because she was the first one that you had slightly opened to ever since the incident, and Kiri felt pride in the fact that it was her.
She was happy to know that you felt safe enough in her presence that you didn’t completely close yourself off whenever you were near her.
Not long after Jake’s little outburst and a long trip to grandma Mo’at’s tent, she felt disappointment seeping deep within her heart once she couldn’t find anything physically wrong with you. There was nothing wrong in your system that drove you to act in such a way, and it annoyed her to no end that she could not do anything to help her first granddaughter.
A trip to Norm’s lab was what had been recommended to Neytiri from Jake, and after a long time of overthinking it, she declared that there was no other way. Human technology was definitely more advanced than whatever the na’vi had, and maybe they’d have an answer for what Jake and Neytiri were silently looking for.
Norm had said that he was no therapist, but it was obvious that the teasing and bullying of kids had affected you in worse ways than they would have imagined.
And all the while you tried to ignore their sympathetic gazes as Norm explained these things to them. You didn’t want your parents to feel this way for you, you didn’t want to feel this way anymore. You didn’t like becoming an emotional wreck everytime that some stupid kid that you didn’t know made a comment about your different skin.
Eventually, you grew to accept that the teasing would never cease as long as your vitiligo was part of you. And you also came to terms that your disorder would always be part of you, so what was the point of grieving over something that you couldn’t help? Therefor, you just grew away from it, accepting that maybe this was how you had to live your life. That you'd never experience that wholehearted love that your parents shared.
In the long run, your father and you had managed to come to good terms again. After months of longing silence, you were the first one that had made a move, pleading for his forgiveness because of how you had acted on that day. Though Jake was quick to stop you, putting aside his lack of confidence in the comforting domain as he held you tightly into his arms, apologising on his side.
Now you stood at 17, arguments and disputes between your father and you now long forgotten. Your vitiligo was still very much there and visible upon your smooth skin, not that you had expected it to lessen in the few years that had passed anyway. You were slightly happier now, despite the kid’s teasing still being present and active, you tried to pay them less attention.
It didn’t escape you that you were still ‘the ugliest girl in the clan’, but you’d pretend like it didn’t affect you for as long as you had to stay in this clan. You didn’t want for more trouble to rise in your home, so you played it off as though the words didn’t  affect you. When in reality, there were nights where you stayed up to watch the stars all up by yourself, your mind elsewhere as the soothing sound of the river flow calmed your nerves. You’d imagine a potential future with someone that loved you for what you were, with a couple of kids and a big home that would welcome you at the end of the day.
A future where you’d have someone to kiss and call you pretty at your wake, but they were all just dreams after all. Some alternate reality that your mind had made up to deal with everything that was going on in your life and you had no other option than to just accept that fact.
-
Upon dismounting your Ikran on the warm beach of Awa’atlu, you could already sense that your family’s presence wasn’t fancied. Your feet had not even had time to brush against the fine grains of sand before thousands of eyes were already turned towards you. Though being the people that you were, it was hard to feel uncomfortable under so many weary stares. However, something about some new sets of eyes ogling you all for the first time felt unsettling.
You stood straight between your two brothers, your rider’s mask still on your face as you tried to keep your posture up to prove that you feared them not.  A quick look around was enough to tell you that this place was beautiful, even though you hadn’t even visited the best parts of it yet. Though it was not home, it would do for now if it meant that staying here kept your family safe.
The clan leaders were unaccepting at first, well at least Ronal was. It was clear that she didn’t want any of you here, and by her fierce stare, you were no exception. Her eyes visibly widened as she rounded your family, finally falling upon your frame. Her eyes explored your body with no shame, excluded of all crudeness. There was some sort of curiosity and disgust that swirled muddled up in her eyes as she examined you from head to toe.
Ronal grabbed onto your forearm roughly, shoving you in front of your huddled family group so the whole clan could see you. You couldn’t help but lower your head to your chest in an attempt to hide from their sickening gazes, but their sounds of opposition fell loud to your ears. She pointed out your discoloured patches to the people as though it wasn’t visible upon first look. It made you feel little, the fact that it was people that didn’t even know you, judging you for how you looked. Judging you for the white patches of skin that covered your entire body like an art piece, but to them you were not worthy of that title.
You could hear the growl of your mother in between all, and the one that Ronal sent her back in hostility.
An intense feeling of dread was swirling through your chest, what if your family wasn’t given uturu because of you? What would happen then, would you be forced to look for another option of a temporary home? Or was this the only one you could afford from now? Never ending questions ran through your mind as you felt the soft touch of your mother’s hand upon your wrist, slowly pulling you back towards her as Ronal retook her place besides her mate.
You couldn’t even look your mother in the face after that, too afraid and ashamed of what the Olo’eyktan’s judgement could be because of you. Though you missed the pitiful glances that your family had casted upon you, Tonowari had seemed to have compassion for your family, one that Ronal did not share but had to live within.
Soon enough, Tonowari had introduced you to his entire family, and a friend of theirs that looked like the sweetest boy that you’ve ever met. He had a mop of curly hair sitting atop of his head, complimenting him well.
Tsireya was the nicest, a literal guardian angel sent by Eywa herself to watch over your family. Her eyes held no judgement and her words were genuine, so you felt more than comfortable whenever you were with her. It didn’t escape you and your big brother that Lo’ak had already developed a crush on the girl, she was charming and heavenly, you couldn’t really blame him.
But when an angel’s near, the devil strays not far behind, and he himself was Ao’nung. It was already bad enough sharing the same age and air as this absolute menace, given that he was just like his mother had made everything 10 times worse. He hated your family based on the minimal interaction that you had in those few minutes of introductions. To say that he had some sort of special hatred towards Lo’ak, Kiri and you was an understatement.
He seemed to loathe you even more based on the  fact that his father had picked him to train you, given that you need to adjust to the Metkayina ways.
Despite everything, the first week in Awa’atlu was literal hell. It was hard to adapt no matter how much you all tried, and the rude eyes of the Metkayina followed you around like a bunch of predators. You were sick and tired of the attention, you just couldn’t escape it. It didn’t matter if it was here or back in the Omaticaya clan, you just wished that you could be invisible to the people.
Now that you’ve hit the 3 weeks mark, too much has happened for you to even recall properly. The amount of fights between Lo’ak and Ao’nung that Neteyam and you had to break apart was uncountable, and facing your father at the end of the day was something that you dreaded more than anything. Added to your mother’s constant nagging at you to stay low, because she feared of how the people would treat you if you did one wrong thing in their eyes.
It wasn’t that she didn’t fear for her other kids’ safety as well, especially in a clan that she knew little about, with people that didn’t necessarily like you all. She was a little more wary about you, because if you had been treated badly in your previous clan, who knew what this one had in stock for you. She wasn’t blind to the constant staring each time that you’d leave the marui alongside her, she just didn’t like thinking about it.
Neytiri prays every night for the Great-Mother to lift some burdens off your shoulders. To let you rest at night without having to worry about what other people are saying behind your back, to let you feel normal for just one night. Because she knew that no matter her words, there would always be a longing in your heart to be like them, like everyone else.
“Do you think this one looks better?” Neytiri snaps her head towards you, watching as you hold a weaved top tightly to your chest. Stretched out across your bust like you were trying to show what it looked like without actually wearing it. Neytiri’s eyes moved towards a second pair that you held loosely by the fingers, before shrugging and choosing the one that was currently sprawled out across your torso.
You took the unused one, throwing it towards your sister that was looking for a pair of her own. The top hit Kiri in her face, woven beads clanging against her forehead as your attack took her off guard. Quickly recovering, your mother watched with a sigh as the now-angry Kiri tried throwing it back on you, only to miss completely as you laughed hysterically.
Kiri didn’t seem to have taken your little melee really joyfully, instead she looked like she was ready to murder you. Your laughter died out as you grabbed the top from its discarded position on the floor, walking now calmly towards your little sister. Neytiri couldn’t help the smile that grew upon her face as she watched you open the closed palms of your angry sister, delicately placing your piece of clothing into her hands as you said something to her.
She knew how close Kiri and you were. She was different just as you were, even if she wasn’t covered with what looked like a bunch of stains. No, instead she was a ‘four fingered freak’ just like you were, quoted by the infamous Ao’nung himself. You both had eyebrows like your father, and Kiri’s biological mother. You were about in the same age category, with you being slightly older. So you both understood and trusted one like no other, and Neytiri knew that behind that grumpy personality of hers, Kiri loved you more than she would ever admit.
“Mom? You okay?” The sound of her youngest daughter brought Neytiri out of her thinking again, shaking her head as she walked towards Tuk. Later that night there was a big feast that everyone was expected to be present to, and your family was no exception. Though your father was happy to be included, your mother still felt out of place, a little forced.
-
A group of unruly teenage boys sat in front of a huge bonfire. It sizzled and popped, threatening to burn those who came too near as the wind blew it closer to them. The sound of raucous laughter resounded around the entire zone, but the night was busy and the area was booming with loud voices that engulfed their own.
Ao’nung sat spaced out between his friends, his legs crossed out before him, a plate of half eaten fish in his hands. He was too busy laughing at whatever joke his friends would crack at every few minutes to even focus on getting his dinner finished.
From the corner of his eyes, Ao’nung could make out a faint blur of your frame. You were sitting with your family, who they were sitting with…his? Ao’nung’s eyes grew in size as he fully turned his torso around to confirm whatever he had just seen. He watched you sit besides his sister, the both of you talking about something he couldn’t quite make up from afar. You were laughing with Tsireya too, you looked so happy.
“Aye, brother!” Ao’nung turned his torso back towards his friends, slightly embarrassed of getting caught looking in your direction. Though the smug look on their faces was not what he had expected once he had turned back, and the roll of his eyes was what they had received. He looked back at his plate, raising a piece of fish up in his hands as he brought it to his mouth to eat. He nodded at the boy, signalling  for him to continue his sentence.
“Aren't ya the one that’s been getting close to that Sully girl?” he nodded his head towards something past Ao’nung’s shoulders, and the boy froze as the laughter picked up again. This time it was louder, more genuine as they all turned their eyes towards you and your family. The boy only shrugged his shoulders at the accusations, nothing he could deny as they had seen it with their own eyes.
He snarled at his friends once he heard them snigger in return, shutting them up all at once. Way to piss his mood up at the end of a good night, what a bunch of morons.
“How about a challenge to finish this night right, huh?” Ao’nung ears picked up at the sound of it, visibly raising and turning out towards wherever the voice had came from. He picked his head up, now interested in some good play. Ao’nung had always been known for his big ego and competitive personality, a challenge was not something that he was about to let his friends win. He was going to beat them, no matter what it was.
His friends exchanged mischievous glances, bumping shoulders together like a bunch of kids as they giggled. Ao’nung couldn’t tell if it was from the one glass of dandelion wine that they had downed earlier or from their sheer stupidity. Nevertheless, they recovered from their childish antics before the boy brushes the dust off of his knees.
“How about you date that girl for a whole month!” The boy yelled out, a little too loud as a few heads from nearby families turned towards them. Ao’nung’s eyes widened at the demand, not even needing to ask for precisation to know who his friend was talking about. His face contorted in a swift act of disgust before his expression fell again, shaking his head as a ‘no’.
The noise picked up again as a series of ‘boo’s and ‘awe’s resounded from their group, attracting attention once more. You were unaware of what was currently happening behind your back, instead focusing on hitting your brother’s shoulders playfully as you noticed the longing looks that he would send to Tsireya.
“What i’m i even getting from this anyways?” Ao’nung quite didn't understand the whole point of this challenge, why would he even participate if he was the only one playing, it was no fun.
“We haven’t decided yet but…,” he said, outstretching his hand out towards Ao’nung as he spoke. He hesitated before his group of friends, pondering on where really this whole thing would lead him to. It wasn’t like he had feelings for you yet anyways, so there was little to consider when it came to your side of things. “don’t tell me you’re scared of a little challenge?”
“Looks like she’s already making buddy-buddy with your family,” the booming voice of another boy sent everyone into laughter again as the whole group turned to catch a glimpse of you. “Cmon, look at your future wife!”
“You don't trust me bro? And here i thought that we were friends.'' The said boy crossed both arms over the area where his heart was, mocking offence as he stared straight into Ao’nung’s similar aqua eyes. There was a sliver of mischief still swirling through his iris, but the boy just shrugged it off. It wasn’t like Ao’nung was altruistic either, he was infamously known for his little shenanigans.
Though when Ao’nung’s palmed hand met his friend’s under the eyes of Eywa, the dare was sealed and his mind was racing. Surely he didn’t care much about your feelings, he didn’t even seem to appreciate you as a person for that fact. But something about this sounded so, oh so wrong as he released his and his friend’s intertwined hands. But he had done it now, vowed before his group to fulfil his dare, and Ao’nung was never one to back down.

After nearly weeks of traveling on your ikrans, your family had finally arrived in Awa’atlu, desperately seeking Uturu to get away from war. You were standing beside your brother, Neteyam, your lanky arms hanging awkwardly in front of you, tense hands clasped together in a poor attempt to ground yourself.
You felt even more awkward when an–admittedly attractive– boy and his friend entered the crowd. Once the two of you made eye contact–his being a thousand times more intense than yours, burning into you like a hundred suns– you immediately brought your hand to your forehead, a sign of respect.
Instead of him doing the same like you thought he would, he flared his nostrils and looked you up and down with a narrowed glare. His stare made a feeling flutter deep in your stomach, like someone alerted a field of colorful kenten.
Oh. He was sizing you up.
With an inaudible inhale, you shuffled closer to Neteyam, his heavy arm immediately coming to wrap around your tense shoulders, thumbing at scarred skin, effectively grounding you. Your big amber eyes never broke away from Aonung’s baby blue ones, furrowing your eyebrows and flicking your ears upward in embarrassment from being blatantly ignored. He would definitely be a problem later.
It was when your dad whispered an “it’s alright, be cool” that you finally broke his gaze, opting to look at the ground beneath you. Your thick braids curtained the sides of your face, beads clicking together harmoniously–the feeling of being watched intensely from a crowd of na’vi made you feel nauseous, dizzy, and even more alienated; your nose twitching as the the saltiness of the air nearly intoxicates you.
The sand felt weird, foreign, incredibly unfamiliar to the dark soil you already missed digging your feet into. The waves crashing against the shore, however, sounded lovely. The wind blows, it passes over, beneath, and between the mangroves, one after another, never to return. Though, it wasn’t enough to fill the void. You hoped that after all this blew over, you and your family would be able to go back home–but the gnawing voice at the back of your head knew that would never happen.
“These children are not even true Na’vi.”
You harshly blinked away the tears that threatened to spill when you felt the Tsahìk rip one of your clasped hands away, only to hold your four-fingered hand up for the scrutinizing crowd to see. Her voice boomed with authority.
“They have demon blood!”
The only thing you could hear were ringing in your ears, your own pulsing heartbeat, and the scared gasps of the na’vi surrounding you.
Welp. This is your life now. Your home.
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
“Hey!” Lo’ak yelled, striding up to Aonung and his crew with you following closely behind, “Back off, fishlips.” Kiri took a few small steps back, looking between the both of you in a slight panic; you nodded towards her and she nodded back with a small, yet obviously forced smile on her face, the look in her eyes gave you just enough to know she was fine.
Aonung’s face quickly morphed into a smirk, his tone criminally sardonic. By Eywa, this boy is evil. “Oooh, more four-fingered freaks!” He cackled wickedly, lightly shoving Lo’ak–almost playful– like he wasn’t tormenting Kiri a few moments ago. Him and his gang started to crowd around your twin, pulling and touching the thin tail that flicked with annoyance.
“Leave us alone!” Kiri chorused, the plea sitting desperately on her tongue.
With an exaggerated sigh, you ran up beside Lo’ak and shoved Aonung with as much strength as your lithe body could muster at the moment, running off of pure adrenaline. The push wasn’t that strong, but strong enough that it made Aonung take a few steps back, admittedly flustering him a little. “Dude, don’t touch him!” You emphasized, your frantic, honeyed eyes as wide as can be, staring back into his.
Time seemed to stop for Aonung as he took in your appearance like he did the first time you two saw each other, yet you were even beautiful up close. His eyes looked between your left eye, your right, and then to your lips. Before his own mind could even register, he wrapped his big hand around your wrist, indulging in how it nearly engulfed your entire hand. Once his thumb caressed your skin, you felt your heart jump.
“Beautiful..” Aonung whispered– his voice low and deep– so that just the two of you would be able to hear it. His tongue swiped at his bottom lip, effectively distracting you from what was really important at the moment.
It seems that he was too caught up in taking you in, narrowly missing the way Neteyam was currently striding up to him with vigor, shoving him with way more force than you ever had, resulting in everyone going quiet and shifting their attention towards him.
“You heard what they said.” Neteyam started, pointing an accusing finger at Aonung. “Leave them alone.”
“Back off, now.”
Aonung raised his hands up in mock surrender, looking off to the side as Neteyam continued to stare holes into his head.
“Smart choice. And from now on I need you to respect my sisters.”
“Let’s go.” Neteyam gathered you, Kiri, and Lo’ak like sheep, ready to walk away and get whatever the hell was happening over with.
“Look at them. They’re all freaks, the whole family.”
Lo’ak sighs deeply at this and makes his way back over to Aonung and his friends.
Watching him with wide eyes, your heart panged as you figured out what would happen as soon as he steps into their vicinity again. “Lo’ak..” You chided, hurriedly looking back towards your twin and the snickering guys behind him.
“I got this, sis.”
Lo’ak, in fact, did not have it. A huge fight broke out between everyone, excluding Kiri of course. What kind of twin would you be if you didn’t jump in?
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
You all were definitely about to get the lecturing of a lifetime–or, you and Lo’ak, at least. Lo’ak had his hand wrapped around his arm, Neteyam rubbing at his bloodied nose, while you had your arms crossed, nails digging into your elbows. All with Jake trailing behind, practically seething with anger.
“What was the one thing I asked? The one thing?”
“Stay out of trouble–” You and Lo’ak chorused, Neteyam looking off to the side.
“Stay out of trouble, right.”
“And you,” Jake started incredulously, turning his stern gaze towards you. He knew you and Lo’ak were alike, down to a T, so maybe he really shouldn’t be surprised, yet he still couldn’t help but feel a semblance of disappointment pang in his chest as he watched the pinkish hue of Aonung’s blood stain the tips of your teeth and the cracks of your bruised lips. “You bit Aonung!”
“I did not–” “Yes, you did! Oh, so now you’re starting to lie to me?” Immediately, your ears cast downward, the loudness of his voice making tears brim your eyes and your bottom lip tremble. He was right, you actually did lie, the taste of iron fresh on your tongue to further prove his point. But how you hated when your father spoke to you like this–the weight of shame and disappointment dripping down your shoulders like hot syrup.
You felt Lo’ak and Neteyam’s stare burn into the side of your head like hot coals, their hearts heavy as they both watched their little sister get scolded for something she didn’t start.
Neteyam pursed his lips before stepping in front of you and Lo’ak, ready to defend. “Sir, it is all my fault–”
“I don’t think so. You gotta stop taking the heat for these two knuckleheads.” Your shoulders were pinched as a tear ran down the slope of your rounded cheek, hand coming up to quickly swipe it away. Neteyam stepped over to place a hand on your back.
“Dad, Aonung was picking on Kiri.. called her a freak.” Lo’ak said softly, as to not make your father raise his voice any more than he already was. Jake’s stern gaze softened at this, looking off to the side. He sighed audibly before looking back to the both of you.
“Go apologize to Aonung.”
“What?” You and Lo’ak said in unison, both of your eyebrows furrowing.
“He is the chief’s son, do you understand? I don’t care how you do it, just make peace. Just go.”
And with that, Lo’ak sighed and shook his head, stray braids swinging with the movement, walking off to go find Aonung with you scurrying behind like a lost, pitiful puppy. You didn’t dare look back when Jake called for Neteyam, only focusing on controlling your own harsh breathing. This had to have been the worst day of your life.
.⠀ ݁ ⸜⸜ 𓂃 ✿̅
“Run that by me again.”
“..Whatever that means.”
“Repeat what you said.”
“I said, if you allow me to court your sister, you will be pardoned.”
“Dude, I am not prostituting my sister. Are you nuts or something?”
“Not prostituting, I just happen to like her.”
Well, you thought, so much for trying to apologize.
You were currently hiding behind a nearby tree, ears alert as you listened in on their conversation. Lo’ak told you to stay put, that he’d go apologize to the dude himself since you didn’t have anything to do with it; technically you did bite him, and his friend.. and two more of his friends. But that was because you had teeth, so why not use them for what they’re made for?
By the time Aonung blinked, you were already at your twin’s side, amber eyes glancing into amber eyes before peeking into his blue ones. “I am very sorry, Aonung, but I don’t think Kiri is interested in you. Like, at all.” You said with a tilt of your head, beads thudding almost mockingly.
After an awkward beat of silence, Aonung cleared his throat. “No, I’m not talking about Kiri..? I’m talking about you, (Y/N).”
Lo’ak gawked at him as if he had grown fifteen heads, eyebrows raised incredulously. “Bro–” “I accept your offer.” Now Lo’ak was staring at you as if you were crazier for even accepting, mouth open cartoonishly wide. Aonung, however, looked extremely pleased at your response, glancing at Lo’ak in a way that screamed ‘she said it, not me’.
“Whatever. Let me know if you need me to beat him up, okay? And you, bring my baby sister back before eclipse.” Lo’ak huffed before turning to set off along the shore, shaking his head in the procress.
“Not a baby, Lo’ak, we were born five minutes apart!” You complained in English, making Aonung’s ears perk up at the foreign language that spilled from your mouth.
Lo’ak turned to you, flipping you off with both hands raised in the air–even with his thumbs out. Disrespectful. “Girl, bye!”
You watched your brother walk further and further, his silhouette getting smaller and smaller. Blinking, you turned to Aonung, only to find out he’s already staring you down intensely. Acknowledging him with a nod of your head, you felt your cheeks flush at his attention, a fluttering feeling took over the pit of your stomach.
Aonung crowded you, tucking his fingers under your chin to make you look up at him. “Just so you know, I would have courted you even without your brother’s permission, sweet girl.” His eyes were even prettier up close, a striking narrowed blue boring into your honey ones. You felt your heart violently palpate at the name, and with a nervous exhale, you shied away from his hand.
“Come.” You quipped sweetly, skipping ahead with Aonung following close behind, his eyes trailing down your form, stopping at the pretty woven bow that sat right at the base of your tail. His gaze snapped back to your face when he saw you face him in his peripheral, heart thudding against his ribcage. “Do you call everyone ‘sweet girl’?”
“No, only you. You are very pretty, by the way.”
“Thanks bro.” He internally cringed at the choice of label, it was a habit, obviously, but Aonung didn’t seem to mind it very much; he knew it would change over the course of time. “You think the same about Lo’ak?”
“By Eywa, no, he doesn’t look half as good as you, paskalin.”
“He is my twin, skxawng. We look the same.”
Aonung went silent for a few moments, scanning your features before responding. “.. Not necessarily. The shape of the hair over your eyes are both the same, though. I will give you that much.”
Your laugh fluctuated throughout the air, singing harmoniously with the crashing waves. You desperately trying to ignore the way your entire body felt like it was lit up in flames when he placed his hand on the small of your waist, thumbing at the skin, you were sure he could hear your heartbeat threatening to jump out of your chest.
Looking up at him, you noticed the small multitude of bite marks along his shoulders and arms, your ears lowering in guilt when the phantom taste of iron filled your mouth, remembering what your dad told you.
“Also–uhm– sorry for biting you.. so many times.”
“It’s okay, I liked it, sorry for calling you a freak.”
“No hard feelings. I’ve said worse about you with Lo’ak.” Aonung decided he would ignore that last part, while you decided to ignore the first part of his statement, feeling your face flush for the thousandth time today.
“I really did like it, by the way, you biting me. Do it again next time.”
“.. Jesus christ.”
“Who?”
You didn’t really like it here at first, but since the Olo’eyktan’s son currently had his hand digging into the skin of your waist with full intent on courting you, you guess you could make it work.

It had been days since the last time you talked to Lo’ak, ignoring him everywhere you went.
At first, he avoided you too, trying to gather his thoughts and think of a way to apologize to you. He tried a couple of things that worked back when you both were children. He made you a new armband that matched his, but he didn’t see you wearing it the next day. He then made you a small trinket to add to your ever growing collection of random shit you found, but it was right where he left it the next day. He then tried to talk to you but all he received in return was your silence and Ao’nung’s small growls in warning for him to step away. Lo’ak felt like he was going to circles. He felt utterly hopeless.
It wasn’t long until both of your parents and remaining siblings realized your avoidance towards each other. Neteyam had failed to tell Jake and Neytiri about what happened that fateful night, in turn disregarding telling Kiri and Tuk. He wanted Lo’ak to tell them for himself or at least have you confront them about it and receive comfort from them. But he knew the both of you were too stubborn to ask help from your parents, so one night he asks no one in particular if they knew why you were, yet again, staying over in Tsireya and Ao’nung’s marui pod.
His question made Lo’ak freeze and nearly choke on the food that was halfway down his throat, harshly swallowing in discomfort.
Neytiri was deeply disturbed by your absence. She missed you dearly. She asked you many times as to why you were never around and you never gave her the truth, wanting Lo’ak to do it on his own. You’d always give her an answer of Tsireya is offering me extra breathing lessons, it’s just easier if I stay over for dinner tonight or Tsireya and I wanted a sleep over. Neytiri always frowned at your answers, knowing that you weren’t telling her the truth. But she never pried. She knew that you would tell her the true reason someday so she let you stay with Tsireya as long as you needed.
Jake didn’t realize your distance until nearly a week after the fight. He had been too caught up in his training with Tonowari and making sure that Quaritch was nowhere near Awa’atlu to comprehend your absence from the family for one too many nights. But once he did, he felt uneasy. He knew you like the back of his hand. He had to. You’re his first born daughter, it was expected of him to. He was always the first person you’d run to whenever you had any kind of problem, confiding in him for a solution or aid. It warmed his heart that he was the first person you came to in time of need, made him feel wanted and loved. So when he saw you barely glance at Lo’ak or even say goodbye to them before heading off to wherever you had in mind, he felt unease settle itself on to his chest. He knew something was wrong and wanted to know what it was, but didn’t want to pry it out of you. It wouldn’t work. He felt helpless and wanted to figure out whatever was wrong so you’d stop distancing yourself from the family. He just wanted his little girl back.
The night Neteyam had asked that question, made Neytiri and Jake pop up in interest and repeat the question to their circle of children.
Lo’ak wanted to tear his older brothers head off right then and there. He didn’t need his parents meddling in both of your business. This was something between him and you, not your parents.
Kiri and Tuk had also realized your absence but didn’t give it too much thought. You always hung out with them at your guys spot and interacted with them. Yeah they found it odd that you rarely slept in the family pod and if you did, you were the first person awake and out of the house. So Neteyam’s question piqued their interest.
It took a lot of prying on Neteyam’s part to finally get the truth out of Lo’ak, but once he did, shit hit the fan.
“Kehe!” Neytiri gasped out, truly surprised at her sons words, “You did not!”.
She thought she raised both of her sons to respect all women, especially the ones in their lives. She couldn’t believe that her own son called his own twin a slut. And for what? Seeing the Olo’eyktan’s son and not telling a single soul about it? Neytiri was flabbergasted at the news.
“Boy,” Jake growled, beyond pissed at his sons previous actions and lack of communication about what occurred. He didn’t even need to ask Lo’ak about whether what he said was true or not, it was written on his face that he was guilty.
He found himself disappointed in his son, perhaps even more so than he usually was whenever he heard or caught Lo’ak doing something he wasn’t supposed to do. Jake had made sure to instill how he and Neteyam should treat every woman they came into contact with, continuously reminding them to behave accordingly and treat them with respect no matter what. So to hear that his son had called you, his sister, a slut for seeing a boy, made his blood boil. I’d ought to show that boy how humans would treat him, he thought in response.
“I know,” Lo’ak croaked out, on the verge of tears. His guilt was eating at him everyday, practically being the only emotion he felt for nearly the past two weeks. “I know what I said was completely out of line. I was angry and that isn’t an excuse for what I said. I am desperately trying to make it up to (Y/N), but nothing’s working. I’m going in circles trying to,” he finished, tears running down his cheeks.
Lo’ak knows that he shouldn’t be crying. That he doesn’t deserve to. That he doesn’t deserve anyone's pity for what he did. But the guilt ate away at him and he couldn’t help but cry. He just wanted you to forgive him and be his twin again, his other half. He felt incomplete without you by his side. It physically hurt to have you avoid him and not have you next to him.
Tuk had wiggled her way into Lo’ak’s lap in order to comfort him, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck as he cried into her shoulder.
Every Sully member could see just how much Lo’ak regretted saying what he did. They felt bad that he was feeling the way he did but they also knew that he deserved your avoidance and distance. It was the only way that would allow Lo’ak to see the impact of his words.
———
You were laying on the soft, warm sand below you when a shadow covered the suns soft rays, blocking them and covering you in its coolness.
You quickly opened your eyes to see who it was and to shoo them away, not in the mood. But your mouth quickly shut itself once you saw your Sempul hover over your relaxed figure, a small smile on his face.
“Sun bathing?” He asked, sitting next to you as you sat yourself up.
You only shrugged in response, wrapping your arms around your legs and pulling them up to your chest.
You felt bad for essentially ignoring all of your family members, but it was the only way to get it through Lo’ak’s thick skull the kind of impact his words had on you.
Your Father hums and looks out to the water line, silence overtaking the moment for a few beats. Until he finally speaks.
“Lo’ak told me,” he starts, “About what happened that night. Don’t worry. I gave him a stern talking to,” he continued, giving you a small smirk at his words.
Jake’s stern talking to’s almost always involved him dragging one of his children somewhere, yelling at them for Eywa knows what they did, and giving them some sort of punishment that will go on for however long Jake deems necessary. You found yourself wondering what punishment your brother got for his actions.
“I figured,” you chuckled, still looking out towards the water line in front of you.
“I’m sorry, babygirl. I know that it shouldn’t be me apologizing, but,” Jake says, tip of his tail swishing back and forth a bit before resting by your siding, curling itself around you gently for comfort, “Your brother is a complete skxawng. And I’m sorry for…not instilling it in Lo’ak’s brain enough to not call anyone, you that.”.
Your head whips towards your Fathers direction at his words.
“There’s nothing for you to apologize for, sempu,” you replied, eyebrows furrowed together, “Lo’ak is a skxawng and said something he shouldn’t have. He knew what he was doing and none of that reflects your teachings.”.
Jake could almost scoff at how wise you sounded. Since when did you become so wise?
Your Father only hummed in response. He wanted the best for his little girls, for you. And to hear that his own son had insulted his daughter and took his words to heart made him feel as if he wasn't adequate enough as a Father. He spent so many years craving for a family of his own before he was sent to Pandora, knowing that it wasn’t possible in his human condition. And once he finally got it, he felt over the moon. He wanted his children to love and respect each other, something that was a struggle for him and Tommy growing up. So being in this current predicament and having you and Lo’ak avoiding each other like the plague, made him feel as if he wasn’t successful in emphasizing how important family was to his children.
“I think you should hear him out,” Jake whispers to you, turning his head to face you, smiling gently down at you, “You don’t have to now. But, soon. Whenever you feel like it,” he reassured.
Your lips pierced together into a thin line, head nodding at his words.
You know that you should give Lo’ak some benefit of the doubt and at least listen to what he has to say, but it’s hard. The last thing your brother said to you were words that caused severe distress to your psyche. To be honest, you were terrified to see what he had to say. To see if he truly meant it or not.
“I’ll try,” you replied.
Your Father continued to look down at you as he smiled, bringing you into his side as he placed a soft kiss on the crown of your head. You laid your head on his shoulder in response.
“So, Ao’nung, huh?” Jake snorts out, teasing you.
“Dad!” You groaned out, covering your face with your hands as you lightly shoved him away, earning a loud cackle from your Father.
———
You were with Ao’nung when Lo’ak approached you for the first time in nearly two weeks.
Ao’nung had taken you out on a date around the island, as he usually did just to show how much he adored you. It almost always consisted of Ao’nung taking you to one of the many jewelry stands the Metkayina jewelers had out, telling you to pick whichever necklace, bracelet, or armband your heart desired and gently putting it on you once you budged, walking with you hand in hand around the island, twirling you around as you two danced to his light humming and singing, and finally going for a swim to wrap up your time together. Even though the dates were repetitive and always the same, they never failed to make you smile from ear to ear and warm your heart. It was something that you and Ao’nung did together to enjoy each other’s company. It was nice.
The both of you were spinning and dancing around in the warm sand as your boyfriend softly sang a song his Sa’nok used to sing to him when he had trouble sleeping, the melody being gentle and delicate, a perfect song just to waltz or sway to.
Ao’nung pulled you into his chest, slightly leaning down to grasp your hands against his lean chest, dipping his head down so you were face to face. He continued to sing the song as he smiled, rough hands slowly moving from your hands on his chest to your shoulders down towards your back before resting against your hips, pulling you in even closer.
You giggled at the ticklish sensation Ao’nung’s hands left on your skin as they just barely grazed it, moving your arms to wrap them around the back of his neck, fingers making their way into his curly hair. Your fingers gently run through the loose ends of his bun before messaging the scalp underneath his usual hairstyle, elevating some of the pressure from the tightness of it.
The Metkayina boy shivered at your soft and slow touch, nuzzling his forehead against yours as the two of you swayed in the gentle breeze.
“You look so pretty, my paysyul,” Ao’nung whispered out, blue eyes deeply gazing into your amber ones. He loved calling you new pet names, enjoying the soft blush that spread itself across your cheeks and neck once you processed what he called you. You loved the nicknames he gave you as well, making your stomach churn in excitement and never failed to make you smile in adoration. He truly did love you and he expresses that in many different ways, pet names being at the top of the list.
A light purple hue painted itself across your cheeks and down your neck in response to your lovers nickname. “And you look so sayrìp, Ma’Nung,” you whispered back, smiling up at the boy.
The teen boy purred out at your response, softly rubbing his face into the side of your head, kissing the arch of your eyebrow.
Ao’nung halted his singing and humming for a moment, basking in the silence and blissful peace that settled itself into the moment. Everything in his life was so quiet and peaceful the minute you arrived on Awa’atlu. He didn’t know he could feel such peace with a singular person and he was glad that he felt it with you.
But, unfortunately, much like the event that occurred days prior, Lo’ak had to ruin it with the loud clearing of his throat.
A cold chill ran up and down your spine at the sound, stopping all movement you and Ao’nung were doing. A small growl emitted itself from the Metkayina’s throat, grip on your hips getting tighter as he pulled you closer into his embrace. It was a clear warning to Lo’ak to stay away from you and leave the two of you alone.
“Can I talk to you, (Y/N)?” Your brother asked, standing a good couple of feet away from the both of you.
Lo’ak had worked up a lot of nerve to approach your figures once he caught sight of the two of you dancing. He didn’t want to ruin the moment the both of you were sharing but he knew that if he didn’t go to you and try to talk to you now, he never would. So, he gathered up all the courage he could muster and made his way to you, hyping himself up on the way.
“Leave, Lo’ak,” Ao’nung hissed out, angling you away from your twin, “She doesn’t want to speak with you.”.
“I wasn’t speaking to you, fish lips,” Lo’ak argued, growling out. Your boyfriend shouldn’t be speaking for you when he wasn’t the one who decided things for you.
Another growl left Ao’nung’s lips as he glared at the Omatikaya boy, anger creeping up his throat. Your brother shouldn’t be speaking to you if you didn’t want him to, especially after what he said to you.
“Ao’nung,” you mumbled out, hands now on his chest, pushing him back slightly.
Much like your brother, you knew that if you didn’t talk to him at this moment, you most likely never will. You needed to nip this thing in the butt sooner than later.
You nodded at your boyfriend, telling him to stand down and give you and your brother some space, that it was okay to leave you alone with him.
Ao’nung only huffed in response, eyes narrowing at Lo’ak behind you. Before he parted ways with you, he captured your lips into a kiss, running the tip of his tongue across your bottom lip before pulling back, not giving you time to respond to his light teasing.
“Our spot after? Twenty after eclipse?” He softly asked, thumb running over your cheekbone as he grasped your face in his hands. He wasn’t very happy that your brother interrupted your alone time and didn’t want to leave you alone with the one that deeply hurt you, but he trusted your opinion and respected your wishes, no questions asked.
You hummed as a response to Ao’nung’s request. There was no way that you weren’t going to tell your boyfriend how this conversation was going to go. Albeit the tension only being between you and your brother, Ao’nung was very much involved as you were.
Once Ao’nung became only a speck in your eyesight, you finally turned around to face your brother.
“Yes?” You asked, arms folding over your chest in an attempt to protect and hold yourself together. You had no idea where this conversation was going to go and that made you anxious.
Lo’ak took a deep breath in before he breathed it out, quickly gathering and preparing himself before he opened his mouth to speak.
“I know apologizing, no matter how many times I do it, isn’t going to change what I said and the way it affected you. But, I am deeply sorry about what I said to you, about you. There is no excuse. I have no excuse,” he started, tears stinging his waterline, “I was so angry at that moment that common sense was thrown out of the window. I don’t even know why I called you that. I was just so angry that you were with Ao’nung, someone who made it quite clear that we were freaks and were not welcomed here. I know that he had been different after leaving me at the reef, which I could assume is around the time you two got together.”.
You nodded at his guess, confirming.
“But I still didn’t trust him. I thought he somehow managed to manipulate you into falling for him. That he was forcing you. It was the first thought that popped into my head when I saw you two that night. I couldn’t comprehend that someone like you, my sweet and caring sister, could fall for someone like Ao’nung, a mean bully who took pleasure in causing pain to others. Confusion and anger clouded my vision. I just…” he paused, a couple of tears had already dropped down his face, “I know that I am shitty at apologies and can never accurately get out my thoughts, but I am sorry for causing you so much pain from my words. I am such a shit brother and you shouldn’t accept my apology. This past week has been awful. I felt incomplete without you. You felt miles away when in reality, you were only feet away. There was this…emptiness inside of me whenever you weren’t by my side. Everything felt wrong without you there to experience it with me.”.
“I desperately missed you. So much. It physically hurt me to not have you by my side. It made me realize that my words and actions do have consequences and that I wasn’t going to escape this situation scott free. Dad gave me the worst scolding that I’ve ever gotten. He told me that I was really fucking stupid and ignorant with my words. That he and Mom raised me better,” a chuckle escaped from your lips at that sentence, only imagining the type of scolds and hisses Lo’ak received from both of your parents.
“Yeah, you were really stupid to say that,” you replied, arms still crossed against your chest but a small smirk on your lips this time. It was nice to hear from him that he was punished by your Father, solidifying what he had told you earlier. But you still felt somewhat bad for him, knowing how angry and intense your Father can get when dishing out punishments.
Lo’ak chuckled at your acknowledgment, wiping away a couple of tears that continued to run down his face. He wanted for days to hear your voice and for you to acknowledge him. He felt relieved that you were talking to him and actually were listening to what he had to say, even if he didn’t deserve to be heard.
“I’m so sorry. You are not what I said you were. You are not slut. There is no excuse for what I did and I know that I can’t take it back or make it up to you in any way that will undo the damage I did. But I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. I will do anything,” he finished, eyes never leaving yours.
The smirk fell off your face after he was done and silence overcame the two of you for a couple of beats.
“What you said really hurt me, Lo’ak,” you started, arms uncrossing from your chest, “It really fucked me up for a while. The intensity of your words made me truly believe your words. I know now that you didn’t mean them but in the moment, it felt like you did. I avoided you to teach you a lesson. To teach you that what you said was not okay. I am sorry for making you feel that kind of pain from my absence. I felt the same too. There were too many times where I wanted to just give up and go and just sit by you to ease it, but I knew that would defeat the purpose of what I was trying to get through your insanely thick skull.”.
The both of you laughed at your childish insult, more tears running down the both of your cheeks.
“But,” you continued, “I forgave you the minute it happened, Lo. I forgive you. I just needed to teach you a lesson and make sure it actually stuck and made an impact,” you finished, hands grasping your brothers.
Lo’ak smiled down at you from his height, lips quivering as he did so. To hear that you forgave him immediately after it happened was relieving but also made him regret his words even more. You were so kind and forgiving to him when he felt like he didn’t even deserve it.
“I love you, sister,” he whispers, bringing you into his warm embrace, one hand going behind your head to pull it into his chest while the other one went around your waist.
“I love you too, brother,” you replied back, accepting his hug and wrapping your arms around his back.
The two of you stayed like that for a couple minutes, hugging as the waves softly lapped against the shore.
It felt good to have your brother back and to finally hug him again after all this time, the emptiness the both of you felt from each other’s absences now replaced with warmth and comfort.
You couldn’t wait to meet up with Ao’nung later and tell him all about your conversation.

You held onto your father as you flew on his ikran. You were flying to the reefs of the Metkayina. Word had reached the Omatikaya of the hunting of the Tulkun and the battle of the demon ship including the shooting of your cousin . The reef came into view and a horn was blown sending a warning out to the people below. Tsu’tey hold on you had tighten “ when we land stay close ma yawntutsyìp” you nodded, squeezing his hand that was holding you letting him know you heard him.
His ikran cireled the beach before landing . Tsu’tey climbed down from his mount helping you down. He walked forward to the forming crowd of Metkayaina, arms out showing he meant no harm. You made quick and large steps to keep up with him. The crowed broke apart letting thought two figures one male and the other female. You immediately knew that it was the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik. Tsu’tey gave the “ I see you” gesture to the Olo’eyktan. “ I see you Tonowari '' he then turned to the female and did the same thing “ I see you , Tsahik Ronal '' .
well they greeted each other. Something had caught your attention, a young Metkayaina male who had pushed his way through the crowded beach and stood a few steps away from the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik. You put two and two together and gathered this was their son. When he noticed you were looking at him, he hissed at you. You immediately stepped back frightened, knocking into your fathers leg . Tsu’tey absentmindedly grabbed onto your shoulder pulling you to stand in front of him faceing Tonowari and Ronal.
You gave the “ I see you” gesture to both of them. Tonowari greets you back but Ronal hissed at you. Your father's grip tightened. ” How dare you bring a sky demon to our shores? '' she hissed at your father. “ I did not, I brought my daughter along to come see our family” . The Tsahik went to argue but was cut off by Tonowari. “ It is decided Olo’eyktan Tsu’tey and his daughter are our guests , treat them as our brother and sister”. At the Olo’eyktan’s words the group of Metkayaina dispersed.
As they left you saw your cousins and Jake make their way towards you. You all greeted each other before Jake was telling your cousins to help with your things and to show you to the pod as he and Tsu’tey walked off. As your cousins led the way to their home you found yourself having trouble keeping up right as the walkways were not as solid . When you got to the pod you quickly placed your things down and greeted your aunt. along with Neteyam and spider who were both bangaged and seemed to have just woken up from resting. After talking with your family for a while you unpacked your things. The rest of the night went quickly. You had helped with the evening meal before everyone sat down to eat together . where everyone caught up and your cousins told you they wanted you to meet some of their friends. Before you knew it you were turning in for the night curled up in a sleep pile with your cousins just like old times.
The first morning rays of lights hit you in the face, waking you up. You slowly stretched out looking around you, seeing your family was still asleep. You slowly dislodged yourself from between your cousins and got ready for the day. You quietly made your way to cook fire and started to prepare morning meal. By the time you had placed the last leaf of food on the small table, everyone was in a different stage of waking. You made your way back to the sleeping area, waking your cousins fully so they would come eat. You all sat around eating, waiting for the adults to join you all to see what the day's plans were. Eventually everyone was at the table, you were told by Jake that your cousins would be showing you the ropes so you could keep up. After the morning meal everyone goes their own ways, your father leaving with your uncle and you leaving with your cousins.
As you followed them you noticed they were taking you to the beach where you saw 3 young Metkayaina one of them was the boy who had hissed at you. Lo’ak pulled you into his side introducing you to them. “ guys this is our cousin (Y/N) , this is Tsireya, Ao'nung and Rotxo ''. You smile and greet them by giving them the i see you gesture. the others greet you back but Ao’nung simply crosses his arms and stares at you. You quickly look down , Lo’ak started talking again” our father said to show her the ropes so we'll be here for most of the day ” he said looking at the 3 Metkayaina.
Ao'nung looked at him “ cuz I'm thinking you're forgetting you're supposed to be going with the hunting party today” he told Lo’ak. Lo’ak grabbed at his breads huffing looking torn between fooling his father orders and wanting to go hunting. You cut in before he could even answer “ it’s ok Lo’ak I can just hang back with Tuk and i’m sure i’ll pick up a few thing. He looks at you with some relief. He and the 2 Metkayaina males take off leaving you with the girls.
Tsireya clapped her hands together, getting all of you’s attention, “ good now we can get straight to lessons,” she said, looking at you. You simply nodded having no idea what she was talking about but you’d go along with anything not wanting any shame on your family. She started to walk off, you followed her towards a cluster of rocks where the 4 of you sat. She started teaching how to breathe so that you could swim and stay under the water for long spans of time. Eventually Tuk got bored and went off to collect shells Kiri followed after her. After a while Tsireya had you try what you had learned in the water. As the sky got dark Eventually everyone came to meet at the rocks and your cousins headed back to their pod, following afterthem.
As the eclipse began you all gathered together for evening meal. you sat quietly eating your meal as everyone around you talked. Tsu’tey noticed how quiet you were being and learned down close to you gently speaking to you. “ what's wrong ma’ite” he asked you placing his hand on your back. “ I’m fine sempu just tired” you mumbled to him. You rushed to finish your food you just watching as everyone kept eating you had started to drift off with sleep, Tus’tey seeing this gently pulled you to his side letting you rest against him. You moved as close as possible enjoying your fathers warm as you were still cold from the water. The next thing you remember was waking up from hearing something outside. You came to realize you must have fallen asleep during dinner since it was pitch black outside the pod and you were tucked between Neteyam and tuk. You slightly stretched, pulling your blanket up to your chin and going back to sleep with the others.
When morning light hit the pod you once again woke up, had morning meal and headed off with your cousins to your lessons once again.
For the next 2 weeks this was your routine waking, eating, lesson eating again and going to sleep. In that time you had become fast friends with Tsireya. You both bonded over healing as you were both studying under the Tsahik of your clans. The only one that seemed to have a problem with you still was Ao'nung anywhere you went and he was around you could feel his eyes burning a hole in you and each time you ignored it. You were currently sitting on the beach with Tsireya helping her make different salves for the Tsahik. And once again you could feel Ao'nung watching you.
Ao'nung watched you as you helped his sister. He was in the water with the sully boys just messing around on their ilu. Lo’ak road up beside him “ you know if you went up to her and talked to her she'd probably like you back “ Lo’ak teased him. He quickly turned to look at him hissing at him.” i’d never be interested in a vrrtep” Lo’aks joking matter stopped and immediately hissed back at Ao'nung” watch it fish lips for ill beat you again thats my tsmuke and nobody calls her that. Ao'nung rolled his eyes “ I Thought you said she was your cousin” he answer Lo’ak. “ same difference “ Lo’ak answered and swam off with his ilu. Ao'nung decd to go deep fishing by himself not wanting to deal with this any longer.
Looking back on that now was a dumb idea as he had gotten his legs stuck and had a large and deep cut on his leg. making it hard for him to even get off his ilu never mind even walk to the shore. You had been on the beach watching tuk play with other children when you notice Ao'nung and the dark red water around him the more he moved . you had immediately shot up going into the water to help him to shore. Sitting him on the sand . you quickly saw what was wrong. You called out to tuk to keep watch on him running to the family pod grabbing your healing bag since it was closer than the Tsahik healing pod. As you darted in and then right back out both scaring and leaving the adults confused. You came back to Ao'nung working quickly to wash and clean the open wound adding a salve to numb it before wrapping it in some leaf bandages. This whole time Aonang Watched you with wide eyes, shocked at how you just shot up, not taking a second guess to help him. When you had finished you looked up at him getting worried as he was just watching you with wide eyes not saying a single word.” Tuk!, go get your sempu quickly, we need to get him to the Tsahik and I can't carry him”. She rushed off to get jake who came quickly and took him to the Tsahik healing pod.
By the time Ao'nung had come to and realized that you had helped him he was non longer in the sand but sitting in his mothers healing pod well she fused over him. He told her that he was fine that you had already helped him. For the next 3 days he didn’t get even a clumps of you until the fourth day you had come to bring some supplies for his mother. Who he had been stuck with for the past 3 days. helping her in the healing pod as he could not put any weight on his injured leg. You greet both the Tsahik and Ao'nung with the Isee you gesture before placing the basket next to the Tsahik. She in turn greets you “ ah thank you sweet child, are you busy right now? '' Ronal aske you . you shook your head no '' perfect I need to deliver a few thing around the village, but will not have enough time to do so and return in time to change Ao'nung bandages can you stay and do that for me?” you nodded gently, “ of course Tsahik '' she gave you a small smile, taking her things and leaving the pod. Leaving you and Ao'nung alone in the pod. After a few awkward moments you decided to be useful and started separating the basket of plants you had brought in. After a while Ao'nung finally spoke “ why “ asked you. You turned to him unsure what to answer him. He spoke again, this time louser “ why ?... Why help me? ''.
You opened your mouth to speak but closed it till you could gather your word. “ why wouldn't I? Your friends with my family, i’m friends with your sister “ you trill off. “ Actually forget that even if we did not have that connection why wouldn’t I help another Na’vi, if i had gone to get the Tsahik or made you get there on your own you could have easily made your wound worse and possibly bleed out” you finished you small rant before turning to keep sorting. It was quiet for a while before he asked you another question” were you really born here?”. You sighed softly before stopping what you were doing and went to sit beside him. “ Yes, I was born here just like the other human boy. I've also been raised in the Omatikaya clan my whole life by Tsu’tey since I was a few weeks old” you tell him before he can even ask you more. Ao'nung rubbed the back of his neck nervously “ thank you for helping me …” he trailed off again. You nodded gently before he asked you something that shocked you a bit “ could we start over again?” he asked you, looking into your eyes. You just looked at him wide eyed for a moment before swallowing harshly and nodding “ y-yes we can”. He smiled back at you “ I see you (Y/N)” he made the gesture as well and you returned it '' I see you Ao'nung”.
Over the next few weeks you got to know each other then started the gifts between you. Ao'nung was the one that had started by giving you some shells to bread into your hair.which Tsireya helped you put them in before you left to get ready for the feast. Tonight was the feast celebrating the battle won against the demon ship now that all the warriors were healed and the time for mourning was over.
As you walked into the family pod nobody had noticed your new hair style until Tuk loudly spoke about it. “ (Y/N)! You look so pretty with the shells Ao'nung got you!” you turned bright red and quickly looked down. your whole family had different reactions the boys weren’t to happy knowing what it meant because they were there when Ao'nung collected the shells, well kiri was trying to hold her laughs in because of her brothers reaction well your Neytiri simply smiled at you well Jake and Tsu'tey looked like deer cot in the headlights. “ i’m … just gonna get my clothes and help Tsireya set up the feast ….. “ you quickly got your clothes and ran back out yelling out a quick “ bye “ as you left.
Later that night at the feast. Both of your families were sat around a fire eating together when you brought over a bowl of Ao'nung favorite fruit for him handing it to him as you sat next to him. He blushes at this, making both Neytiri and Ronal coo at what they saw. This continues on for a while giving each other small gifts or simple gestures of bring each other food, and maybe a bit of showing off on Ao'nung part when he catches a partly large animal showing it to you proudly. Ao'nung had finally built up the courage to present you with a courting gift ( the necklace in the title)

You’re dripping. So much so, that Ao’nung has to slurp your juices like he’s feasting on a juicy fruit.
He has you on the floor of his marui, spread out and spread wide, thighs bracketing his head as he leans down to lick a board stripe from your entrance to your clit.
A hand tangles itself in his black curls as he gives you a wet, sloppy kiss right where you need it.
"Oh god, yes", you moan as his hands slide up to hold you more open than you were before, so that he could taste you again and again, his tongue dipping deeper and deeper inside every time. Your hand curls tighter in his hair, tugging, and you worry that you were hurting him. Not that this was even possible. Still, you just couldn’t help it– touching him was the only thing anchoring you, as if you‘ll float away and disappear if you would move your hands just an inch.
But Ao’nung doesn't seem to mind, not if the way he groans, grinds his face against your pussy and thrusts his tongue deeper into you is anything to go by.
You could feel the pleasure growing inside you, in your toes and in your spine and behind your eyelids, and you arched against him, moaning at each touch of his tongue, his lips against your clit– sucking and slurping and kissing. It's building and you’re reaching for it, but then he suddenly pulls away, and your hips jerk violently as though to follow.
Panting for air, you lift your head and stare down on yourself, brows furrowed.
And there he lays on his stomach, one of your thighs in either one of his hands, legs draped over his shoulders as he licks his lips clean. His chin is glistening in your arousal, dripping and running down his throat.
"Who knew sky people were this delicious?", he grins, before leaning over to teasingly bite the soft inside of your thigh.
"I want- come back", you whine in frustration, "Please…"
"Needy little demon", he chuckles and rolls his eyes, "you want to suffocate me with your slick?"
"I- I thought your people were good at holding your breath", you argue, blushing, and later you'll most definitely feel embarrassed for being so bold, but you couldn’t care less in this moment. The sheets underneath you are sticking to your sweaty back, your legs are trembling and you’re just so close— what he’s doing, or more what he isn’t doing, should count as torture!
"Oh, you want me to hold my breath, huh? And I here I thought I should go easy on you, be careful with such a small fragile thing", he gives you a sharp grin and chuckles, "You should’ve told me earlier, then I would have you crying by now."
And then he dives back down, his tongue delving deeper than before, sucking harshly on your clit until your back arches like a bow and your heels dig into his back. He’s feasting like he’s never been taught proper table etiquette, his face practically shoved against your pussy as if he’s actually starving.
"O-Oh my god, yes! Yes, f-fuck– right there! Right there, right there", you moan, throwing your head back at the blissful feeling of the broad metkayina man between your thighs.
You could feel Ao’nungs approval in the way he hummed loudly, his eyes fluttering closed as he continued to devour you.
"C-Coming, I’m– I‘m coming", is all you manage to force out, both of your hands flying back to get a tight grip in his hair, guiding him and holding him right there, right where you needed it most. And cocky as he is, you feel him grinning before he sucks so hard on your clit it feels as if you would explode any second.
And then, taking a hand off your leg and repositioning himself, he slips two of his fingers into your soaking wet cunt and curls them just right. Pairing powerful strokes of his digits with long sucks of his mouth, he coaxes you over the edge with such confidence that it takes your own breath away. Literally.
You mindlessly tug on his hair as your thighs snap close around his head. Your orgasm almost takes you out, it makes you shake, your muscles jumping and spasming and making you twitch uncontrollably before it plateaus into complete, white-out inducing bliss. His fingers keep pumping in and out of you through the clamping of your walls, stretching out your orgasm while he kisses and sucks on your clit, until your body slowly goes limp from the incredible pleasure.

Since you and Aonung officially got mated you didn’t have a lot of arguments. And if you had ones they weren’t really serious. Mostly they happened because you liked going out somewhere without letting him know about it and Aonung got really worried when he couldn’t find you. That was always the most serious case. You thought that it couldn’t get more serious, both of you are so understanding and hearing that you don’t have reasons for a huge argument. You were so wrong.
Today was the normal day. You were going to hang out with Tsireya and Sullys as usual. You all have fun, swim and collect pretty shells. Aonung was supposed to be with all of you, but his dad asked him and Neteyam to help other warriors to hunt. They couldn’t say no, moreover, it was an honor for them to be invited by the Olo’eyktan. You were used to it, so you let him go leaving a little kiss on his lips.
“Don’t get in trouble while I’m gone. Stay safe, okay?” In fact, Aonung was the one who is always worried about you. He knew you won’t do anything that puts your life in danger for fun. But he also knew that sometimes you don’t really think about potential consequences and that’s what gets you in trouble. “And what’s more important, don’t listen to Loak” you laughed at this. His expression was extremely serious when he said this. For you it wasn’t a big deal. What might happen? “I’m serious, y/n.”
Aonung looked straight into your eyes and you sighed understandable. You know that he worries about both of you.
“Please, take care of you too.” He gently places his big warm hand on your belly. It became his habit since you found out about your future baby.
“I will.” You put your hand over his and squeeze it a little.
He leaves a soft kiss and goes to his parents’ marui to join other warriors. For you this event was normal and you didn’t worry about it, but for Aonung, whose protectiveness increased twice since that evening when you found out about your pregnancy, it was a big deal. He didn’t want to leave you alone for long.
When he finally left your marui, you remembered that you wanted to see Ronal and ask her about the baby. Since it’s your first time being a mother you had a lot of questions and she was the only one who could answer them since nobody but her knew about this. You wanted to keep it as a secret for as long as possible.
“Hey, we want to go to see Payakan. Loak wants us to meet him.” Tuk came out of the blue as usual. “Come with us!”
You weren’t sure if it’s a good idea for you since Aonung asked you to stay safe. Going out of the reef, even though you’re Metkayina, can be dangerous for pregnant woman.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea…”
“C’mon! We’ve done this so many times, everything will be fine. And today is a special day, Payakan really wants to meet you all. Neteyam and Aonung will join us next time.” Loak was really excited about it, his eyes were almost shining, so you couldn’t say no.
“Okay, tulkun boy” you rolled your eyes sarcastically.
The closer you got to the tulkun, the more clearly you could see this red pierced thing. You didn’t understand what’s going on, but Loak found out quickly.
“Sky people did this! They’re coming, we need to take it out of him!” He was panicking, because of the fear for his spirit brother.
You immediately jumped on him and tried to help Loak to take it out, but nothing helped. Kiri and Tsireya joined you. Tuk started screaming and you got really scared.
“They’re here! Hurry up!”
Your heartbeat increased twice. You were afraid that it might be your last day, skypeople can do anything with all of you.
“Dad, they’re here! They shot Payakan and want to kill him. We’re trying to save him.” Loak used his neck microphone to call Jake.
“What?! Who’s there?” He was with other warriors and you knew Aonung hears everything.
“Me, y/n, Tsireya, Kiri and… Tuk.”
“Get out of there, now!” Jake immediately replied with worried tone in his voice.
“We’re will get out this thing and immediately go back yo the village.”
You tried to pull another time, but it didn’t help. Then you saw ilus and finally had the right idea. Guys tied the rope to your ilu and you tried to pull it all together. In less than a minute you managed to get it out. This GPS arrow was in your hands and you knew that they can detect you. And that’s why you tried to swim as far as possible from you village so that everyone will stay safe, especially Tuk. You just hope that other guys will go back to the village and you will manage to get out of this situation.
You don’t know how, yet.
“Oh Eywa, please help me!” You mumbled while trying to avoid corrals and plants. You also knew that right behind you there’s this huge machine chasing you and you don’t have right for mistake. The last minute your Ilu got so scared that it just left you the moment you lost your bond.
You have to survive for Aonung and the baby that you carry right under your heart.
You had no choice but to hide in the huge plant that had some air inside. You’d been swimming for too long to get them far from village. Before finding this plant, you threw that red GPS, hoping that they won’t keep chasing you after this.
Aonung’s pov:
“RDA are hunting for Tulkuns. Payakan is shot, they’re trying to save him.” Jake explained situation quickly while all men went back to the village.
Only question that Aonung had was about you and he didn’t want to know the answer. But he has to.
“Who’s there?”
“Loak, Kiri, Tuk, Tsireya and…” Jake looked cautiously at him before saying the last name. “Y/n”
“Fuck. I have to go there now.” Aonung raised his speed and changed direction straight to the reefs.
“What are you doing? Y/n is with them, they can handle it by the time we will come. She’s strong.” Tonowari tried to calm down his furious and anxious son.
“She’s pregnant.”
That’s all he said before leaving everyone in shock. When he got closer to the end of the reefs, he met Loak and the rest of the group except for you.
“Where’s she?” He was furious. In fact, he was scared deep inside. “I asked where is y/n!” He raised his voice like his father does and it shocked everyone. Nobody knew he can be that serious.
“She was distracting RDA. She’s supposed to come soon.” Loak said this like nothing serious happened, but Aonung’s face said that he fucked up.
“If something happens to her, I’ll kill you.” He pointed to his chest angrily and left without saying any other word.
***
You tried to calm down and make no noises so that RDA won’t find you. You’ve been staying here for too long and it seems that you won’t get out of here soon. Tears start to come, panic slowly takes over you.
“Aonung, I miss you.” You whispered starting crying. The thought that in the morning it was your last kiss with Aonung and you didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to him. You were supposed to have a baby and live a happy life, but it’s going to end today.
With the side vision you notice something moving towards you and you moved to the side, trying to save yourself. You wiped your tears and tried to pull yourself together as much as possible before RDA soldier will come for you. But before you could do or say anything, the familiar head appeared right in front of you.
“Aonung?” You were surprised to see him. He sighed in relief that you’re okay and right after it he got really serious.
“What the hell are you doing?!” He knew you must be stressed out, but couldn’t help it. “It’s been only a couple of hours and you already in trouble. Loak is supposed to protect everyone, not you!”
“I’m the eldest in our group, I had to take responsibility.” You didn’t want to have this conversation now, but there was no choice.
“Take responsibility for you own life first! How can you be a mother if you don’t know how to take care of yourself?” You didn’t expect him saying this and it hurt you. You lowered your head, not willing to continue this argument.
“I want to go home, Aonung.”
“Wheres your ilu?” He was still angry and you didn’t try to calm him down as usual. You also needed support. More than him.
“It got scared and left.” Your voice was really quiet.
“Okay, let’s go back home.”
Luckily, RDA left you and your way home was quick and safe. However, the tension between you two was almost visible. You hated it. It was the first time such thing happening in your relationship and you didn’t know what to do.
“My child, are you okay?” Ronal was the first one who noticed your arrival and came straight to you. She hold your hands, examining all your body for any wounds you luckily didn’t have. Everyone in the village looked at you with worry. Now they know about your baby.
“I’m fine, just got stressed a little. Thank you.” You slightly squeezed her hands and gave a tired smile.
“Okay, go rest then. If you need anything, just let me know.”
You nodded and Aonung took you to your Marui. All that time he didn’t say anything and that stressed you out even more than sky people.
“Aonung?” You asked tentatively, trying to catch his gaze.
“What?” His voice was sharp and it really made you upset. He never talked to you this way.
“Please, say something.” You tried to touch his shoulder, but he didn’t let you do this. You bit your lip, to stop yourself from crying, and sit on the floor. Otherwise, it might be hard for you to stand during the tornado that’s about to happen.
You needed his hug and love now. All you want now is to feel the warmth of you husband’s heart and body. He’s the one you could be vulnerable with, but now it’s not working.
“You want me to say something? I have a lot of things to say.” He looked at you seriously towering over you. “What did I ask you when before leaving?”
“Don’t get in trouble…” you felt like a little child who gets scolded by their parents.
“Don’t get in trouble. Which word in this sentence you didn’t understand? Do you even know how I felt when Jake said you’re chased by sky people or when I met Loak and others without you? You’re having our baby and you’re still acting like a 15 year old you. I thought we overcame this problem, but turned out we didn’t.” You were about to loose your last piece of calmness. Aonung is the most important person in your life, that’s why he’s the one who can either hurt and heal you easily.
“I thought I can loose you and you didn’t even think about it. You didn’t think about how I would feel myself if I see you dying or wounded. I could loose not only you, but our baby.” And this was your last straw. You broke in tears, letting out all emotions you suppressed until this moment.
You were crying, sobbing and shaking. Re-living that situation and remembering Aonung’s words again and again.
How can you be a mother if you don’t know how to take care of yourself?
I thought we overcame this problem, but turned out we didn’t.
I could loose not only you, but our baby
“I’m sorry. I didn’t want this.” Aonung immediately sat down right in front of you, trying to calm you down. “I was scared that Tuk and other would get hurt. I didn’t want them to be captured by sky people.” Your eyes were full of sorry. This broke Aonung’s heart. “I know I don’t think think about the consequences in the moment, but I don’t do these things for nothing. I have reasons to act certain way and I’m sorry that I make you worry, but I also got really scared. I also thought that today might be the last day I kissed and touched you. I was scared to loose you too. But I don’t regret doing this and I would do it again if I have to. I better safe four lives for mine, than save my life for four others.” You tried to explain everything, sobbing and crying, while Aonung hugged and tapped your head softly. He knew he shouldn’t have to scold you. The first thing that he must did was to comfort you after that stress you’d gone through.
“I’m sorry, ma txe’lan, I’m sorry.” He whispered same words, while hearing you crying. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there and help you. I’m sorry I didn’t think about your feelings and pressured you.”
You didn’t want to say anything, focusing on his soothing voice. With all tears your stress and tension in the body and mind were relieved. You two were still in each other’s hands, listening to your breathes, enjoying each others warm bodies. You’re alive. You’re still together. You’re still going to have a family.
“You’re my txe’lan, y/n. You own my life. If they take you from me, then they take my heart. Please, don’t let anybody do this to us.” Aonung was sitting and hugging for from behind, placing his head in you neck crook. It was your favorite pose, as you both could feel each other completely. “Can I…?”
“Yes”
You knew what he wanted to do. Some Navis think that young couples mostly love to feel each other sexually, but it’s not your and Aonung’s case. You enjoy your sexual journey with him, but the most precious moments are when you feel each other. Sitting in such pose in your marui or at the beach at night, looking at the sky and having tsaheylu. You dont have to use it only during the adult time. You can use it just to feel your partner. And that’s what you do now.
You both need this, you need to make sure that you’re alright. Aonung takes your and his braids and makes a bond. Shivers go through your body. You feel his heartbeat, his breath, you don’t need words anymore.
You’re the one
You live in each other
You will be the one even the afterlife
“I see you”

Ab riding with Ao’nung | Smut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Ab riding, pet names, f orgasm, spanking, dirty talk, smut
Tumblr media
‘S-so good’ you whined out, hands gripping your mates shoulders. Your cunt clenching around nothing, as soft mewls and moans fell from your lips.
‘You like daddy’s abs huh?’ He teased, his grip on your waist growing tighter as his guided you back and forth on his abs
‘Mhmm’ blindly agreeing, too lost in pleasure to notice his teasing and sly remarks as your head was thrown back in pleasure.
‘Good girl, mhm just like that’ he cooed slyly, his hands roaming down your waist and down your sweaty back.
‘M-mm nungg’ you whined out softly, your knees shaking around his toned waist. Your back arching every time your clit brushed against his sculpted abs.
‘C’mon a little faster baby’ he hummed, his eyes set on your breasts bumping up and down. His hands slide down your back and onto the plush of your ass, his hand coming down and hitting you back into reality.
‘A-ah!’ You moaned out in surprise, your eyes shooting down to the sly grin forming on his face. You could feel the pleasure pooling and swirling inside you, begging to burst and spill out of your slippery cunt.
‘H-hah’ your voice breaking as your orgasm spilled out of you, your legs squeezing around his body.
He smirked up at you, his hands rubbing around your waist in a comforting way.
‘That’s my girl’

Refuge
Tumblr media
previous | part 3
word count: 3.7k
language: Tsahík- spiritual leader, Muntxate- mate / wife
description: To say you were happy about new arrangements would definitely be an understatement, yet somehow people’s word still struck you to your core. Little did you know a certain na’vi would put those too rest with three simple words. Fluff fluff and fluff.
Tumblr media
“I seek the family’s approval too court Y/n”
Head shooting up you could hardly believe the words that had left his lips. Eyes wide you looked too Ao’nung searching for any hint of deception. Heart racing in your chest your shocked features soon twisted into confusion. “Why?” Although your voice was low it seemed too echo through out the mauri. The deafening silence flooding back in once your words had faded. Gaze moving from your father too you his eyes seemed too soften. Your body stiff and hands clasped together in your lap as you tucked your pinkie in. A habit he had seemed too have created. Ears tinting slightly purple the male looked around. It seemed all eyes were on him, waiting for an answer. “I am showing my intentions.” Taking a pause Ao’nung seemed to be searching for his words. Ronal holding a proud smile as her son spoke.
“I wish to make you my Tsahík. No other woman has made me feel this way, and I do not wish for you too slip from my grasp.” Feeling flustered at the peering eyes Ao’nung ripped his eyes away from you. Now facing your parents. “I will treat her better than any other sutor could. The gifts in the corner are all for Y/n and her family.” Feeling the weight of the situation the Nerves began too set in for Ao’nung. His tail swaying with anxiousness. All of your family’s eyes seemed too turn towards you as they studied you for answer. You could not seem too meet their eyes as you could not tear your eyes from Ao’nung. Hand covering your mouth a dark hue washed over your cheeks. You did not even hear the second part as his words repeated in your head like a broken disc. He wish too make you his Tsahík. You are the first na’vi he had ever wanted too make his.
Stifling a laugh at your expression Lo’ak was the first too voice his opinion. “I accept, I know her better than anyone, and my sister seems overjoyed.” Shyly looking too your brother he met your gaze with a close lipped smile. You could not contain the way your tail whipped with excitement at his approval. “I knew this was coming so I’m with Lo’ak.” Kiri voiced her opinion, shrugging her shoulders as if she was not stunned only a minute ago. “I am fine with it, hopefully there is no mal-intent.” Your eldest brother locked eyes with the na’vi. His yellow orbs staring daggers into Ao’nung soul with an unspoken threat. Eyes just as heavy Ao’nung looked at Neteyam. An underlying offense in his expression. “I do not have any mal-intent.”
“We’ll I think that settles it. Me and my wife also approve. I believe her siblings judgement is strong.” Processing jakes words a smile slowly made its way too Ao’nungs face . Oceans eyes immediately finding you. You felt your heart leap at this action a shy smile making its way onto your lips. Although your future had been decided for you, you did not feel any resentment. If anything your felt an overwhelming sense of love and acceptance as the dinner commenced. You could not seem to maintain eye contact with your future mate without your face heating up. Overwhelmed with the feelings you had tried so hard too suppress, the feeling you never thought would be returned. It seemed that the dinner had ended too soon your family soon leaving the mauri. Ao’nung eyes did not seem to leave your body as you stood, bidding his sister goodbye.
Seeing him walk over you felt your heart leap. Meeting his eyes you felt as if you could burst with joy. “Goodnight y/n” Tucking your one stray braid behind your ear his ocean eyes bore into yours. Brining your hand up too his you navigated it too your cheek slightly nuzzling into his touch. “Goodnight Ma Aonung.” Face flushing the male looked at you his pupils dilating. Eyes scanning your features he had no doubt in his mind he had made the right choice. Ao’nung was sure he had his future in his hands.
Tumblr media
The next morning the you were awoken by the bustle of your home. lazily bring your body up you squinted your eyes attempting too adapt too the sunlight. Dazed and confused you struggled too set dream from reality. The memories of last night flooding in seeming as if they were a fantasy. “Y/n if you don’t want this can I have it?” Groggily blinking you processed Tuks words. Eyes traveling too the item in her hand you couldn’t help but let out a slight gasp. “Oh my Eywa.” Taking the bracelet out of Tuks hands you rushed over too the growing pile of materials in your family’s Mauri. Paying no mine too Tuks noises of disapproval you were too wrapped up in your own head. Mouth agape you scanned the amount of offerings brought too your mauri as the reality set in. A giggle erupted from your throat as you could help but embrace your youngest sister, spinning the twelve year old in the air. “I am being courted by Ao’nung!!” Shrill laugher filling the air the mauri was soon full of joy as Tuk mirrored your excitement, not quite sure why you were so hype, but she did not care.
“Looks like we made the right choice.” Body spinning too the entrance your eyes landed apon your father and brothers. The two younger ones carrying the remainder of the gifts as they entered. Placing Tuk down you threw your body into your fathers arms. A heart filled laughed rumbled through your fathers chest as he now spun you around. “Thank you daddy!” Wrapping your arm around your father he happily returned your hug. “Anything too make you happy baby girl.” A small smile made its way onto Jakes lips as he hugged you. Pride filling him with the fact that he had made you happy, that he had made the right choice.
“Not too be a vibe killer but sis…. you do know Ao’nung saw all that.” The humor in Neteyams voice was evident as Lo’aks giggles were already spilling past his lips. Pulling yourself away from your father you peer over his shoulder and sure enough the na’vi was there. A smug smirk placed apon his lips as he handed your father the items in his hands. “Morning y/n.” Hands clasping together you turn your gaze too the floor. The embarrassment of what he had witnessed slowly settling in. “Good morning” Almost muttering it you shifted your body weight from side too side.
“You kids get out of here ronal is expecting you.” Interrupting the awkward exchange your father ushered you out. Face heating up you took your place beside Ao’nung. Your heart seeming to rest at his usually pace around him as it beat against your chest rapidly. “I’ll walk you to the healing tent?” Voice rough the male smirk rested comfortable on his lips. Nodding your head softly you agreed. Pushing back your nerves you boldly took ahold of his arms. Your slim arm easily wrapping around his bigger one. Muscles stiffening under your hold his cocky demeanor slowly slipped away at your proximity. “You do not know what you do to me forest girl.” Finding your smaller hand he engulfed it with his. A warm feeling crashing over the both of you.
As the two of you walked to the healers tent it seemed that the village began to wake with your pretense. A chatter following behind you as the village gossiped. Ao’nung had never openly showed his affection no matter how many relationships he had been in so for him to be walking hand in hand with a na’vi sent shock waves through the village. It did not take long for your news of him courting you to spread like wildfire. You would not be surprised if by the time the two of you had reached the Tsahíks tent the whole village knew. Usually this would make a woman proud. Being claimed by a man so openly was suppose to be something a woman dreams of yet you felt none of that. You did not enjoy the gossiping that occurred after your arrival and did not wish for something about you to be in mouths of others. Sensing your unease Ao’nung squeezed your hands oceans eyes not tearing away from yours.
“You okay y/n?” Stopping a few steps away from the entrance of your destination he turned his body towards you. Your arm being ripped away from latching onto his. A sense of guilt seemed to build as you looked into his concerned eyes. You did not wish to dampen the mood over something so minor. “Of course.” Clasping your hands together you sent a small smile towards the male. Obviously not buying it his face seems to harden but the words never had a chance to leave his lips. Aggressively opening the tent Ronal announced her presence. “You are keeping my student from me. Arent you accompanying your father today? ” Crossing her arms the two of your turned to her. An annoyance plastered on Ao’nungs face as his eyes rolled at his mothers words. “Meet me after eclipse on the beach.” Words spilling out of his lips he pressed a hasty kiss to your forehead. “Of course” responding, your once dampened mood skyrocketd at the simple gesture as the na’vi ran off. Shyly looking too his mother she wore a similar smirk too her sons as she eyed you knowingly. “Come child, we must begin your preparation.”
𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅𓂅
Whoever said being a woman in a clans was easy, is a liar. For hours you were given examples and duties of tsahík and the list made your head spin. Not saying that these tasks would be overbearing but it definitely wasn’t light work. You could only thank Eywa the festivities and religious ceremonies were branched out the months. Now, sitting in front of foreign herbs you attempted to memories the names and affects. You only knew a minor amount of healing as you were a warrior alongside your brother in the forest. You tried to tie the Metkayina herbs to the ones you already had knowledge of. “Atla will be helping you I must step out.” Forcing you out of your mind Ronal commanding voice filled the Mauri. Eyeing the na’vi next to the woman you examined her features. She could not be much older than you, maybe around Ao’nungs age. Atla was beautiful standing taller than you she held herself with elegance and confidence with a smile. Rising to your feet you hurriedly greet the woman. “I am y/n”
“Oh please I know, you’re the talk of village!” Voice high pitch she spoke enthusiastically. Striding over to you. “Do not gossip the whole time. The future Tsahík must learn quickly.” Words stern Ronals words were commanding. Although she had her soft moments the thought of having her as a mother in law still sent shivers down your spine. It seemed that her intimidation did not have the same affect on Atla because as soon as Ronal form vanished the woman already had rumors spilling out her mouth. “Is it true you are pregnant ? How far along are you? People in the village are saying its the only reason he’s with a na’vi well……like you.”
“Excuse me?” Confusion and shock evident in your voice you looked the na’vi up and down. Processing her words your feelings soon turned sour. “I am not pregnant, and what do you mean na’vi like me” Poison evident in your voice you looked at the taller woman. “I mean, you are not metkayina and on top of that you’re not true na’vi.” You felt your stomach drop with her eyes as she examined your hand. Clasping them together you quickly tucked in your extra finger body language rigid and hurt. Your obvious signs of discomfort did not seem to affect Atla as she continue too speak as if this was a causal conversation. “The people just never thought he would chose an outsider and alien. There’s a bunch of theories going around since this morning but most think you trapped the poor boy. Did you seduce him?” Disregarding your feelings her eyes bore into yours. She did not seem to have a hint of remorse. The room seemed to suffocate you as you processed her words. Tears pricking the ends of your eyes as your emotions made it hards too breath.
“The people do not think I’m worthy?” Voice cracking you looked up to the female. Her eyes showed confusion at your question as her thoughts swarmed in her head. “I mean, not really, but look at you.” Her words were harsh as she motioned to your frame. “To be honest I always thought it would be me, I was pretty surprised that his parents let him chose.” Not being able to handle anymore of her rambling you rushed through the exit. Inside you knew a part of her was doing this out of jealousy acting all innocent and casual so you would be the dramatic one but you could not seem to care as you stormed out the Mauri. You knew your feeling of euphoria would not last long and people would talk, Ao’nung was to the future chief after all, but hearing the word so soon still hurt. Looking at it from an outside perspective it did make sense, Ao’nung should be with a real Metakyina.
That night you did not meet Ao’nung at the beach. Hell you didn’t even go back to your Mauri. Finding peace in the small forest on the island you hid yourself from reality and the hatefulness of the clans disapproval. Basking in the darkness of the forest you pretended as if you were home. Pretend that you were away from all this conflict for all the disproval you got for the sin of being born. You couldn’t help but wonder if things would be different if you had three fingers. Raising your hand into the sky a hatred grew as you examined the five fingers, cursing Eywa for allowing your soul to crossover into such a form.

To say Ao’nung was confused was an understatement. The male did not understand why you had not shown up on the shoreline. All the excuses in his head running out as eclipse turned too day. The male had dozed off on the shoreline awoken by the tide against his skin. His confusion soon turned to irritation as he gathered his thoughts. The na’vi was quick to set out on a search checking your family Mauri to no avail. They had simply said they assumed she was with him their worried faces telling no lies. His mother seemed to be a dead end as well. Ronals words being “She stormed out on Atla, Atla said it was because she was frustrated with all her tasks.” It was hard for him to believe her words as you were not the type to give up. Finally, the idea of the small forest in near the village struck his mind as he was quick to venture into the unfamiliar area.
Ao’nung had never been much of a land adventurer always sticking to the ocean. He saw the small forest as a place for the gatherers never setting foot in a place he did not have control over. To say he was wandering endlessly would not be a far stretch as he seemed to be lost among the tropical trees. Frustrated and hot his discomfort was unmatched. But, it seems his tireless search did not end up fruitless as his sights soon landed on your dark blue body laid leisurely agains a tree. Your hands worked slowly as you peeled a fruit with your knife. Meaningless humming filling the area around you. “Is this where you have been?!”
Jumping as his voice the fruit was quick to fall out your hand along with your knife. You felt your stomach drops as your eyes were met with a seeming furious Ao’nung. His shadow casting a shade over you as you looked up to meet his eyes. A familiar feeling of guilt and regret seemed to bubble up as you looked at the man the furrow in his eyes unrelenting. “I did not mean too-”
“What? Stand me up?” Voice dripping with anger he glared down at you. “I do not understand what you want.” His seeming angry tone cracked as he said his last sentence. A hint of hurt seeping through his frustration. “Do you even want me? Your actions are so contradicting I do not understand!” Anger slipping away it seems that his true emotions seemed to show. The confusion and pain evident in his tone. “Ao’nung, of course I want you.” Voice soft you rose to your feet. Attempting to place a hand on his shoulder. Harshly ripping away from your touched the na’vi looked into your yellow eyes. “You say that I was playing with you now look at you.” Seeming to come to his own conclusion the na’vi backed away. Heart racing in a panic at his retreating form you felt all your newly formed doubts spill to the surface. Your brain screaming a you to make him stay.
“No! You don’t understand! I simply came out here to recollect. Ao’nung, please.” Racing after him your hand gripped on his shoulder. Harshly turning around his ocean eyes bore into yours. “Ah yes and thats a perfect excuse for showing interest than running away!” Sarcasm evident in his tone his fist clench at his sides. “I just-“ A roll of his eyes seems to shut your right up. A lump in your throat slowly gathering as you felt him slipping from your grasp. “I do not want to hear it y/n”
“No! I only left because your clan does not wish to have me. An alien and outsider as a Tsahík? They do not want me Ao’nung. How could you want me?” Tears pricking the sides of your eyes the lump in your throat only grew as they escaped cascading down your face. “Who has said this?” Although the anger was still evident it was no longer directed towards you as his hand quickly cupped your face. “You have said these words as well you can not be mad at your fellow tribesmen.” Eyes flashing with regret his oceans eyes swarmed with many emotions. Remembering the harsh words that had left his mouth many time.
“I was a skxáwng. I have always wanted you even before I ever realized what these feelings are. Y/n you are meant to be my Tsahík. I do not care what words leave the mouths of the clan members they listen to me.” Softly wiping away your tears his calloused hand brushed against your cheek. Letting his body relax it seems that all the resentment flowed out. His impulsive feelings leaving alongside his assumed conclusions. Feeling the tension leave his body you could help but allow your heart to flutter at his words. Stepping forward you closed the distance between you and Ao’nung, seeming entranced by his very being. Your body did not seem to stop until you felt the heat from his chest only an inch away from yours.
Breathing rigged his ocean eyes scan you. Flashing between your eyes and lips. His self control withering away by the second. “They will always see me as an alien. No amount of power can change that.” Almost as if supporting your point you brung your hand up putting your four fingers on display. It was as if you were working against yourself on purpose, still not fully accepting you could be his. The invisible marks from his actions from weeks ago still seeping in. “Their opinions have no effect on me. I do not care what they see.” Turquoise hand wrapping around yours his color engulfed your hand. “I see you y/n”
His touch burning you looked into his eyes. The breath from your lungs taken away. “I can not breathe without your presence y/n. You do not have to say it back but please do not push yourself away from me I-“ Stoping the mans nervous rant you could not help but crash your lips into his. His hands dropping to rest on your hips. You could taste the saltiness of your tears but it seemed neither of you seemed to care refusing to break the connection. Pushing down the burning of your lungs your pressed your hands against his chest pushing the male until back hit a bark of a tree. An amused hum came from his throat as he pulled away his normal persona taking no time to come back as a smirk rested upon his lips. Chest heaving you seemed to drown in his eyes struggling to catch your breath. “I see you Ao’nung.”
Heart fluttering at your words Ao’nungs ears seemed to shoot up. His once smirking face morphing into a genuine smile. “You will be my muntxate no one will stop that.” Voice stern and determined the male seems to be reassuring your doubts with his eyes holding no lies. A small sigh breached you lips as you rested your head on his chest. Your slim arms wrapping around his waist in a soft embrace he was quick to return. “I will not run away again. I will seek my refuge with you ma Aonung.” A purr coming from his chest the male could not be happier as held you in his arms. A sense of peace washing over the both of you as all the difficulties disappeared. “I will always be here for you my forest girl.”
