A sweater vest for my friend, using designs from a 1760 german pattern book that i meticulously copied into stitchfiddle and then arranged onto a pattern.

I'm really proud of this, I knit the same vest pattern (but with different, simpler colourwork) almost exactly 2 years ago, and seeing my progress since then is really cool!

done at last! been on my needles and on my mind since November. A clear long term project docket is so freeing

new skills: 3 needle bind off, flat colorwork, corrugated ribbing

biggest lesson learned was that i need to pay more attention to my edges with this kind of construction. the neckline is kinda messy and i cant fix it without ripping out the entire front. its still wearable though and im overall pleased!

the pattern is the Tracery Vest by wipinsanity and the yarns are KnitPicks Stroll (Black) and Hawthorne (Compass Kettle - Yellow)

I was wondering why Kit looks so much more like Dorian than Astarion, and it got me thinking about how vampire genetics work. Do you think that the only physical traits that get passed down are ones from before becoming a vampire? That said, what do you think Astarion looked like before he was turned, and did Kit inherit any of those traits?

i think that would make sense!! i feel like pre-vampire astarion probably looked about the same but less pale and gaunt (personally i hc that he just went grey really early and i’m also in the brown-eyed astarion club)

honestly though, the real reason kit didn’t get anything from astarion is because the redleaf genes are too strong and they all look exactly the same

Found this beautiful lamb's wool Lyle & Scott sweater vest at a flea market last weekend! Been wanting a sweater vest for a while and finding one in the colours of the trans pride flag was just perfect.

It had a few holes so I decided to try out Swiss darning, and I think it came out pretty well! I couldn't find any info online about Swiss darning on ribbing, though, so I'm not sure if that's even possible (please let me know if you know!), so the holes in the ribbing are fine with regular darning.

Prolly my favorite piece I've ever made!!

A square spiral of pursuit angles. Theres a way to graph this pattern on an xy-plane but I dont remember the formula.

I used to doodle this in my notebooks all the time in highschool and when I learned of the surface crochet technique it was the first thing I thought of! It turned out just like I envisioned though I did have to modify my plans along the way. Also the first piece I conceptualized from scratch with no pattern to go off of.

SWIRLY WONKY VEST

My first knitting project and I think it even came out looking wearable!!!

A complete panic knit for my friend. I started to think about what would happen if we had another 18° winter and so pumped out this hardy, if unpractical, sweater. It’s non-superwash wool, but I figure it’s better to have as an option on a really cold day than not. I finished it off with some little bone buttons that I love so much.
