to any of my friends who say: “i want to go be with elvis,” i hear you. i see you. and i want you to know that you aren’t alone.
but, i can gaurentee you he doesn’t want to see you up there; he doesn’t want to meet you until you’ve turned old and gray, and have lived a fulfilling life.
he wants you to know that he’s watching over you. he hears you when you sing one of his songs, he reads with you when you read a book about him, and he’s there when you watch one of his movies. he delights in the things you enjoy. he loves watching you succeed, and he loves watching you live. he’ll always be there for the good, but he’s also here to support you through the bad.
he’s there when you walk through the halls of graceland. he’s there when you light a candle for him and (if applicable) say a prayer. he’s there when you’re up at night crying about whatever is bothering you. he’s there when you hold a plushie and envision yourself hugging him. when you look at the moon and talk to him, he listens. if you write him letters, he reads them. he’s always there, whenever you need him.
he is so proud of you. whether you’re struggling with picking out an outfit or struggling to keep yourself alive, he’s proud of you. if you feel like no one understands, know he does. if you feel like you’re completely alone, know he’s there. if you feel unlovable, please know, he loves you.
remember that there is no rush to meet him. he will always be there. in fact, he wants you to wait. and besides, you know what they say…
absence makes the heart grow fonder♥️.

why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?

my absolute favourite thing about the kirk and spock dynamic is that the whole time you’re watching the show spock is gaslighting you into thinking that kirk is this loose canon and spock is paragon of logic keeping his captain on the straight and narrow when its very clearly the other way round. aside from being turned on by everyone and fighting like an old-timey boxer…. kirk is just like.. quite a logical, stable guy. like yeah he rules with his emotions but he’s rarely reckless or erratic, even in situations of immense pressure he’s always calm and measured. sure kirk is unhinged and insane, but we knew that right off the bat. spock on the other hand tries to hide how insanely balls to the walls crazy he is by standing next to jim and hiding all his derangement with logic. i think the reason bones beefs with spock so much because he is the only one who has noticed that spock is an absolutely unhinged individual. (jim is too busy doodling <3 mr jim spock <3 all over his briefings to notice)

I love dunmeshi for the like.. built in horror of consumption. Like they eat to survive, they eat to honor their prey, they eat to possibly mourn someone. Laios eats monsters because he wants to learn more about the things he loves, Senshi eats monsters to feel included in the ecosystem because he didn't fit in with the outside and with most creatures in general, Chilchuck DOESN'T eat as much as he could because eating too much could kill all the party members, Marcille eats monsters and hates it but she still does it because she'll die before she could save Falin.
