ASYLUM - STEVEN GRANT

Steven Grant x Fem!Reader

He thought he was dead when the light peaked through. "Hi," he saw a girls face pop into his sight. Was he really dead?

Steven took a few shaky breaths before sitting up. "Hello... can you tell me where we are?" He said. trying to keep his voice as steady as possible.

"Oh we're just in the Asylum." The girl said casually as she played with her fingers. His eyes widened at his location. Maybe he really was dead. And this, the asylum, was his own personal hell.

"Why are we here?" He said nervously. "Am I dead? Are we dead? Is this hell?" His voice was shaken as he frantically gathered his surroundings, his eyes (if even possible) opening wider when he heard her laugh.

"No, no you worrisome little man, though it can feel like it here sometimes." She softly patted the matted curls on his head.

Steven's eyebrows furrowed and he softly shook his head to get her to stop. "If we aren't dead, then why are we here?" He finally stood from the coffin, standing a few inches taller than her.

"Well, they put me here for the drawings on my shoes. You though, I'm not really sure." She continued to ramble about the smallest things that Steven really had no care for. "I know where Marc is,"

He wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying, all the rambling giving him a headache, but those words caught his attention "Marc? Where is he."

"Well yes the markings got me put in here, though that's not really true. But I sadly don't know where the shoes are. It really sucks, they where my favorite pair and these give me a headache."

She showed the plain white slippers, moving her foot around as she stood on the other. A small smile played on her lips as she looked up at him, the sleeve of her cardigan falling off her shoulder.

"Look, I don't mean to be rude but, I don't know where I am and I really need to find Marc, and you really aren't helping me in anyway."

"Oh, alrighty then," the girl put on a forced smile and stuck her hands into the pockets of her cardigan. "Laters gators, new friend," she dropped her arms to her sides and made her way to the door.

Her words made his ears twitch slightly, hitting his soft spot easily. "What did you say?" He asked as her hand reached for the door knob.

Her hand stopped and she turned to look at him. "Oh, I said "new friend" I make it a goal to be friends with everyone here,"

"No, before that?" He raised his brows, hoping that she'd understand what he was asking.

"Oh, I said "alrighty then," and i said that after you told me I was being annoying." She smiled, placing her hands behind her back.

Steven sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "No, what did you say in between those, and don't count the breaths."

"Oh, I said 'laters gators"." She smiled. "And after that you were supposed to say "in awhile crocodile," but i guess you didn't understand that."

"Could you, maybe, bring me to Marc? Please?" He smiled at her, a real smile.

"No need," she smiled, looking down at the children's watch on her wrist. "He should be here any minute."
