Hello, KnB ask here... Do you mind if I ask other ships from KnB? Do you have other ships beside AkaFuri? Like, who do you ship Kagami with, Kuroko or Aomine? Cause my friend is Aomine/Kise & Aomine/Kagami shipper (she can't decide which is better, just Aomine is her fav). For me I ship Aomine with Momoi (one of my fav het ship until now), she (my friend) hate Momoi as character. I don't know why.... Let's just say, my friend and I agree to disagree for that ship. What do you think?
I love reading your answers and you're right, that Furihata scene in s3 is also one of my fav (still laughing when watching it)....
Hi!!! I have a bunch of KNB ships lol, all of the teams have their assigned duos within and also there's iconic rivalries so it's just begging me to ship.
Mine are usually:
Kagami/Kuroko
Aomine/Kise
Midorima/Takao
Murasakibara/Himuro
Nijimura/Haizaki (I am realizing recently that I may have thing for delinquent-like characters being shipped with cool and calm types)
Kiyoshi/Riko/Hyuuga(could be all three or any combination of two)
I usually don't ship with Momoi with anyone and I very much like her as character. Wish we got more with her and Riko's rivalry. Also more on her own basketball skills and analysis. I thought she wasn't utilized as well as she could have been. I don't really mind Aomine/Momoi but I'm like, ambivalent? Sorry 🙏
I do have a few other mix-up ships, I'm a little more open with shipping in KNB and they're usually:
Nijimura/Akashi
Kagami/Aomine
Kise/Wakamatsu
Nijimura/Himuro Okay so this one I have to explain I think. Idk if this is common knowledge but there was a light novel chapter where we follows Nijimura when he's in the U.States taking care of his dad. While he's there, he runs into Himuro and accidentally gets involved in some kinda gang dispute. Nijimura keeps going on and on about how beautiful Himuro is LMAO and they take down some shady shit together using Nijimura's delinquent days experience. It's as wild and unhinged as it sounds it's CANON I SWEAR
Tumblr media
I really like Nijimura. me and my friend joke that he's our god. Himuro is so pretty and beautiful he's our top for visuals. So when we found this, we immediately went "oh yeah, they had at the very least, a fling"(jealous Murasakibara hello~ Also it's funny to me that Kagami has no fucking clue who Nijimura is- the one guy who had all of the GoM's respect no matter what- but HIMURO does. Imagine that meeting in Last Game).

Copycat the shadows reflection
Tumblr media
In the vibrant world of basketball, there existed a team known as the Generation of Miracles. The aura of their sheer talent captivated the hearts of fans around the nation. Among these extraordinary players was Kuroko Tetsuya, the Phantom Sixth Member.
Kuroko possessed an incomparable playstyle, one that was as elusive as a shadow, confounding opponents at every turn. He was the true tickstar, making crucial passes, stealing the ball, and leading his team to victory with unparalleled finesse. His impeccable sense of timing brought forth an era of triumph for the team.
However, the tranquility of Kuroko's reign was soon disrupted when a mysterious figure emerged from the shadows. Chihiro Mayuzumi, a gifted but enigmatic basketball player, seemed to have a secret agenda. Not content with merely copying Kuroko's looks, Mayuzumi desired to replicate his playstyle as well.
Mayuzumi's actions perplexed Kuroko, who couldn't fathom why someone would imitate his every move. The once seamless unity of the Generation of Miracles began to crumble, overshadowed by Mayuzumi's actions. Doubt seeped into the hearts of Kuroko's teammates, as they struggled to differentiate between the original and the copy.
So Kuroko got an Idea and he started singing
youtube
Kuroko:🎶Don't be cautious, don't be kind You committed, I'm your crime Push my button anytime You got your finger on the trigger But your trigger finger's mine🎶1
Mayuzumi:🎶Silver dollar, golden flame Dirty water, poison rain Perfect murder, take your aim I don't belong to anyone But everybody knows my name🎶
Momoi: Tetsu?
Both smiled similarly to each other in  response to Momoi
Kuroko:🎶By the way, you've been uninvited 'Cause all you say, are all the same things I did🎶
Kise: strange this guy is  a perfect copy of Kurokochi in looks in play style right down to technique
Aomine: True only one thing letting this perfect copy of Tetsu  down
Momoi: Whats thst Dai chan
Aomine: he doesn't have Tetsu's personality now that is one thing no ond can replicate
Mayuzumi:🎶Copycat trying to cop my manner Watch your back when you can't watch mine🎶
Akashi:now that is something Tetsuya would never say
Kuroko:🎶Copycat trying to cop my glamour Why so sad bunny? Can't have mine?🎶
Mayuzumi:🎶Call me calloused, call me cold🎶
Kuroko:🎶You're italic, I'm in bold🎶
Mayuzumi:🎶Call me cocky,🎶
Kuroko:🎶watch your tone🎶🙂
Mayuzumi:🎶You better love me🎶
Kuroko: 🎶oh please you're just a clone By the way, you've been uninvited 'Cause all you say are all the same things I did🎶
Mayuzumi:🎶Copycat tryna cop my manner Watch your back when you can't watch mine🎶
Kuroko:🎶Copycat tryna cop my glamor Why so sad, bunny? Can't have mine (Mine)🎶
Midorima: i Don't know who to trust
As weeks passed Kuroko noticed Mayuzumi's influence grew, the harmony within the team's dynamic began to fade away. Doubts turned into animosity, friendships fractured, and whispers of betrayal filled the air. It was becoming clear to Kuroko he could now see the rift forming, and he knew that his unique abilities were not only being replicated but weaponized against his teammates.
Kuroko wanted know why why would Chihiro do this why the sudden betryal he was Determined to salvage his team that same determination was  burning in his eyes, decided that he had to confront Mayuzumi and uncover the truth behind his actions. As the game reached its climax, Kuroko sprinted towards Mayuzumi, determined to confront him face to face.
"Mayuzumi, why are you doing this? We were teammates, friends even! What drove you to betray us?" Kuroko demanded, his voice filled with both anger and hurt.
Mayuzumi turned to face Kuroko, his expression cold and emotionless. "You were always the center of attention, Kuroko. Everyone praised your unique playstyle, your impeccable timing. I wanted that too," he replied, his voice laced with bitterness.
Kuroko's eyes widened in realization. "So, you betrayed us out of jealousy? You wanted to be the one standing in the spotlight?"
Mayuzumi nodded, his gaze never wavering. "I wanted to prove that I could surpass you, that I could be just as revered as you are. But the more I tried to copy your style, the more I lost sight of myself. And then, I realized that I could never truly be you, no matter how hard I tried. It was a mistake from the start."
Kuroko felt a mix of sympathy and disappointment wash over him. He understood how it felt to be overshadowed, to feel insignificant. But he also knew the importance of staying true to oneself, of embracing individuality rather than imitating others.
"You don't have to be me, Mayuzumi. You have your own strengths, your own potential," Kuroko said softly. "I would rather have a true friend than a copycat. Let go of this jealousy, and let's find a way to rebuild our team and mend the broken bonds."
Mayuzumi's eyes flickered with uncertainty. He glanced at the rest of the team, who were watching the confrontation with mixed emotions. Slowly, he nodded. "I... I will try," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
And so, the Generation of Miracles, battered but not broken, moved forward together. With Kuroko's unwavering support, for one another despite the obstacles they faced they just hope one day Mayuzumi will understand the gravity of the situation he put them in and maybe they can forgive him for now ties with Mayuzumi have been cut

Sooo you want angst? How about a fic/hc/scenario where a fem!reader who's friends with Aomine and liked for a long time (since Teiko) but Aho-mine takes her for granted because: 1. He knows she likes him 2. She's not like Horikita Mai 3. She's not affiliated to the basketball club. The reader is left heartbroken and eventually gave up. He only realized that how important she to him is when she's gone, and that he always liked her too when he sees her with someone else. (Bonus points if it's Kagami~) Especially when he sees that guy being all gentle and sweet. Angst and regrets for Aomine, but a bit fluffy for the reader~ "You'll never know what you have until you lose it, *Aho*mine"
Aomine x f!Reader

yes this is 39-40 pages on the doc, I’m warning you guys, it’s a bit long, but hey~ get your christmas reading in, I guess?
Note: I can’t believe I had to track down the general timeline for this to the point where I found a reddit thread that had the mangaka’s notes on these types of things. The dates given aren’t canon, but the months should be canon in terms of when mentioned canon events happen? The new school year date I’m 99% sure is correct, since it starts the day after spring break.

“Hey…” a boy with cropped hair turned to you sheepishly with a friendly smile. “My bad, but… could you help me with these questions? I don’t really get it, and you seem to know your stuff.”
“Huh?” You looked up from your desk to see a bashful expression for him, clearly finding it embarrassing to ask for help. To help him save face, you quickly agreed, patting the empty table next to you for him to sit. It was before class, an ordinary day in Teiko, though nothing is really “ordinary” in a school like Teiko to begin with.
“Thanks,” he grinned at you.
You nodded at him before asking, “What is it you have trouble on… um…”
“Aomine Daiki,” he finished for you. “And on these questions. I don’t get them…”
“Okay, Aomine-san,” you nodded, leaning closer to properly read the questions. “Here’s how you do them…”
. . .
“Holy crap, you’re an actual life-saver!”
Aomine quickly rushed to the front of your desk after class to thank you, nearly scaring you out of your wits while you were clearing out your space.
“It’s nothing, really…” you insisted, putting your hands up out of shyness. Being praised out of nowhere like that definitely wasn’t a part of an “ordinary” day.
“I’m serious!” he shot back earnestly. “If it weren’t for you, I woulda failed that pop quiz…” He gulped at the thought of Akashi and Midorima figuring out his academic scores. “So I really appreciate you teaching me, even if you didn’t even know me at all!”
“Pfft,” you laughed. “You’re more than free to come ask me for help.”
“Oh yeah,” he turned to face you, with an expression oddly serious for someone like him. “I never got your name.”
You smiled at his outstretched hand and shook it with your own.
“(l/n) (y/n).”
———
[December 12th]
“Aomine!! You made Momoi cry again?”
“Shut up already, and quit naggin’ so much or you’ll grow wrinkles.”
You only give a huff of indignation before sending your best glare to him. He merely looks at you from the corner of his eyes before closing them with a sigh. That was an indication that he wanted this conversation to end—to change the subject elsewhere that wasn’t as annoying to think about.
“... Go easier on her, okay?” you give a sigh of your own before turning away from him. “She only does these things because she really cares for you. I’m really serious.”
Because I care too.
“Everyone worries for you… Kuroko has been really down in the dumps lately… did… something happen between the two of you?”
“You really are more annoying than Satsuki,” Aomine mumbles, getting up from his resting position to sit up with a slouch. You turn around to face him to participate in a banter again, but his pointed look at you stopped all the words from forming on your tongue. You only stare at him when he continues again. “Seriously, I just wanted a nap on the rooftop and you’re always pestering me, for what?” You furrowed your brows to snap at him.
“To practice, Aomine! Practice sucks, I get it. I personally would want to sleep and chill all day, too. But the fact is, everyone is doing their best on the courts, whether in games or drills, and I know that a part of you wants to also be at your best when the games come, so it’s just so frustrating to see you throw away practices like this—”
“What do you know about me?”
You flinch. You have his entire attention now, his sitting position turned completely to face you. His arm is propped up on a knee, and his lips are pulled in a taut line. What does he even mean…? You’ve been friends for years… right? You hesitate before continuing.
“... I might… not know you as well as Momoi, I know that for sure. And Kuroko, too—but when I see those two visibly upset for your sake, I just can’t help but hate to see how your friendships together are just—you guys were so close and then just, something must’ve happened—”
“Shut the fuck up already.” His eyes finally sharpen into a clarity that fully reflected anger. Clearly, your words touched a nerve. “People like you who act all high and mighty when you have no idea what you’re talking about are the most irritating.”
“... Did something happen at practice recently?”
He abruptly stands up before he walks to the ledge of the higher concrete structure, his back to you. You have no idea what his face looked like at the moment, but after a moment of tense silence, he finally lowered his head as if he thought hard about something.
“... You wouldn’t understand.”
And with that, he jumps down, not even bothering to use the ladder to get down. A harsh screech of the bulky door was the only indication that Aomine left the rooftop to no doubt sleep somewhere else. Silence follows.
“I wouldn’t understand… huh…” you whisper out to no one in particular, staring at the city view obstructed by the safety fencing around the rooftop. You bite your lip in hopes of tamping down the awful feelings threatening to bubble out of you—the powerlessness in helping the person you love; the frustration of him never opening up to you; the lost isolation of being constantly left in the dust. This wasn’t the first time he did this to you, always storming off in his own tantrum when you confronted him on these matters—you weren’t a stranger to them at all. You’ve known him for nearly three years now—you shouldn’t be surprised. So why… why do you feel this way now?
But he’s never lashed out on you like this… ever.
You rapidly blink in hopes of regaining your composure, the kind that would pretend everything was okay and that his words didn’t really hurt you at all.
Yet, even when your lips begin to quiver uncontrollably, your eyes take on a glint of determination, your mind made up. It’s been years since you’ve known him, and you’re going to try to get to the bottom of this.
I want to understand him.
———
[December 13th]
“Aomine doesn’t hate you, (l/n)-san.”
“Eh?” You shoot your head up at Kuroko’s words. You decided to look for Kuroko the next day to confide in him about what happened at the rooftop, even when you two aren’t particularly close to each other. But you knew that Kuroko wouldn’t turn you down if matters were about the Generation of Miracles, let alone Aomine. Kuroko is just far too kind to turn away from people in need of help. Even when you know he’s busy, he insists that you two sit together on a bench to talk things out.
“I… I don’t know,” you whisper. “I think I said something that seriously messed up our friendship.” Kuroko offers you a consoling pat on the head when he sees you trying to hold back tears.
“Aomine-kun… tends to say things he doesn’t mean when he’s angry.” Kuroko sighs a bit, but something lurks deep within his eyes before it disappears altogether. “He’s going through a tough time right now, so I think it’s best to give him space.”
“A tough time?” You widen your eyes a bit before turning away. How come Momoi never told you this? Why didn’t Aomine confide in you? “... May I ask what happened?”
“... As much as I want to tell you,” he begins, “it’s not in my place to say. You’d have to ask Aomine-kun himself when he’s ready.” He drops his hand from the top of your head and faces ahead of him, presumably observing people walking by you two as a form of distraction. He’s thinking about something, and you feel that this conversation has been progressively turning more intrusive on your end. You opt to also stare at the passersby while you ask the next pressing question in your mind.
“Then, is it in your place to tell me what happened between you and Aomine?” You instantly regret your question when you see Kuroko stiffen up and bow his head lower to hide his face. “I… just wanted to ask, because I don’t like seeing how you two practically became strangers in a day, when you guys used to hang out so much, as if you two were inseparable… I thought Aomine’s foul moods lately were because of that… but—you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to!” You add the last part in a rush in fear of sounding too demanding.
“Yeah…” he trails off in response. “It’s a bit complicated… I’m still not sure what happened either. It was during our game against Kamizaki when Aomine-kun changed.”
“Oh… Kamizaki…” you reply, uncertainty taking over your voice as you scramble your brain to try to figure out a connection, but to no avail. You mentally curse yourself for not knowing enough about the sport to help out Aomine. “Um, Kamizaki is…?”
Kuroko, thankfully noticing your confusion, patiently explains the context. “Kamizaki is one of the strong teams that gave us a hard time during one of our national matches last year. Aomine had been looking forward to going against them again.”
“Ah!” you chime as if a lightbulb went off in your head. “So you guys lost this year?”
“No, we won that game.”
“Then…” you mumble, furrowing your brows. “I don’t get it… he’s upset that he won?”
(“You wouldn’t understand.”)
“I think it’s something more than that.” Kuroko gets up from the bench while facing you. “Sorry, it’s almost time for practice. I’ll have to get going soon, (l/n)-san. And please don’t be disheartened by Aomine’s words.”
“I’ll try to apologize to him and make amends,” you say with a smile. “If he can scare me away that easily, then I have no right to call myself his friend!” Kuroko gives a small nod and a miniscule smile of his own as he readjusts his book bag on his shoulder.
You only give an automatic wave and nod of your own before he turns to walk away. You, however, miss the somber light in his eyes as he departs for the gym.
———
[December 16th]
You constantly tail after him like a lost puppy at every chance you get, Aomine notes, watching you dash to him with a wave of your arm and a huge smile the moment the school bell signaled the end of the day. He frowns a bit when your eyes fall to the ground when you stop in front of him. Surprisingly, he’s being patient, waiting for you to face him and say what you needed to say. A part of him doesn’t like the troubled look on your face.
“I’m sorry.”
He’s absolutely bewildered, his face giving away what he felt. There’s no way he expected to be forgiven so easily after what he said to you. As much as he knew that he meant every word he said, there was a bitter aftertaste in his mouth after he harshly reprimanded you the other day. You didn’t really deserve him lashing out on you.
“Huh?” He narrows his eyes as he takes a closer read at your face and body language. What the hell? Were you messing with him? “What are you doing?” A rhetorical question he proposed, knowing that no sane person would be this apologetic for something he knew was the one more at fault in the situation. His pride refuses to let him voice out his thoughts though.
“No, really. I’m really sorry for what I said a couple days ago. It was out of line and not in my place to speak when I don’t even know the whole situation and still assume things… so…” you trail off, scratching your cheek in trying to summon up the rest of the words you practiced for your apology for the entire day prior to meeting up with Aomine.
“Oh…” he blinks at your words, replaying the scene at the rooftop in his mind. “That? It’s whatever. Don’t think too much of it.” It’s not really your fault.
“Argh, I’m serious about this, y’know!” you scowl, a complete 180 from the uncertainty on your face seconds earlier. “How could you forget it already?” Despite your words, you’re relieved that he didn’t come to hate you. Besides spending the day practicing your dreaded apology, you spent another day coming to terms with the high possibility that he’d hate you for the rest of his life… and thus, you played out nearly every scenario in your head in how you’d have to beg for forgiveness or find ways to be in his good graces again. The woes of liking someone like Aomine Daiki really came to bite you in the ass quite frequently recently.
Aomine’s eyes follow your hand gestures and explosive outburst before they fall to your side in a weird moment of silence coming from you. You’re thinking about something unnecessary, it seems.
Your thoughts are interrupted when he lightly flicks your forehead. “O-Ow! What the hell?!”
“You’re thinking way too hard about this. Don’t worry about it.” He’s back to his normal self, face impassive once more as he looks down at you. “Geez… you take things way too seriously.”
“R-Right…” you mumble, clearing your throat after a few seconds of him staring at you. “Anyways… I made an extra bento box today, considering that I heard from Momoi that you’re always stealing food from everyone when you’re hungry… just take it. As a token of apology, or something…” With that, you pull out the lunch from your bag and nearly chuck it at him out of embarrassment before you run out the opposite direction where you came from.
“Heh…” he huffs out a chuckle, half-exhale, before looking at the bento box in his hand. “Token of apology, huh…” He opens up the lid to find every part of the lunch meticulously cooked and delicately placed. Octo-dogs were placed in the corner on top of a small pile of rice, while you made small veggie animals with shredded nori sprinkled generously around. A smirk grows on his face when he observes how much work you actually put into it, and if anyone who knew him saw him right now, they might dare to call his smirk somewhat boyish. “Now that’s a load of crap if I’ve ever heard one in a while, (y/n).”
Now… where should he nap for today? He didn’t want to go back to the rooftop for a while, now that either you or Momoi might come up again to disturb him, and there aren’t a lot of locations who can offer that same level of quiet. Aomine grabs an octo-dog to munch on while he walks down the hallway, thinking about where to go for today. That is, until he hears hurried footsteps that he’s very much grown accustomed to for many years now.
“Dai-chan!” Momoi huffs out of breath before she slows down her running to match his stride. “You didn’t even wait for me to get out of class! You’re such a meanie, ugh!”
“Yeah, yeah…” he automatically replies, already drowning out her voice as he keeps walking. He grabs a cat-shaped carrot to pop into his mouth before noisily chewing it to further block out her chattering of anything that may have happened in the Teiko practices lately. Momoi suddenly stops her usual chirping to tippy-toe to get a better look at what he’s holding.
“Eh? Isn’t that (y/n)-chan’s… lunch?” Momoi’s inquisitive voice brought him out of his mind at the mention of your name. He turns to look down at her pouting face.
“Huh? What about her?”
“Don’t tell me you stole it from her! Mou, if you’re gonna keep doing this to people, at least spare (y/n)-chan! Actually, you should stop stealing people’s lunches—”
“Tch,” he clicks his tongue. “Don’t get it twisted, Satsuki. (y/n) gave me one. Said she had an extra.”
“Oh… I… see,” she drops any further assumptions and turns rather thoughtful, something that Aomine never associates with anything good if her mind wasn’t thinking about something basketball-related.
“You better not think of anything stupid,” he says, proceeding to lazily pick up another octo-dog while picking up his walking speed. Momoi, noticing that he’s trying to divert the topic, also picks up her pace to catch up to him.
“(y/n)-chan is a nice girl, isn’t she?”
“Huh?” He stops walking abruptly. Momoi, in trying to catch up, bumps into Aomine’s back before she takes a few steps back to face an annoyed Aomine. “What the hell’s that gotta do with anything?”
“Nothing like that,” she responds, still deep in thought. She continues with a concerned tone of voice. “Just treat her nicely okay? I saw her crying the other day with Tetsu-kun when I was looking for him.”
“And you think it’s my fault for making her cry,” he coldly finishes her thought, not liking where the conversation is going.
“I-I didn’t say that!” Momoi raises her voice defensively, surprised at his unusual reaction. “I was just trying to see if you knew anything about it, Ahomine! Besides, I’m just warning you to be gentle with her or else you’ll never stop hearing it from me!”
“First you’re gonna nag me about basketball, and now this thing with (y/n)? You’re not my damn mom.”
“Because I know you’re never honest about your feelings!” she retorted, getting straight to the point. “If you’re gonna be an asshole, leave her out of it, seriously! (y/n)-chan’s my friend, so any business she has with you is also mine!”
“What (y/n) does is none of my business.” His voice takes on a more hostile tone. “Unlike you, I don’t hover over her constantly.”
“Liar,” she hisses, dropping her playfulness. “Then what was that whole thing about when you scared off some guys who were going after (y/n)-chan two weeks ago? You clearly were around her a lot more to the point where even Tetsu-kun asked me if you had a thing for her!”
Something rises within Aomine when he hears Momoi’s accusations—sickenly warm and terribly uncomfortable, as if his entire body was feeling the effect of pin needles from lack of blood flow. Whatever it is, he hates it.
“I don’t care if they wanna get close to (y/n) all they want. They were invading my damn personal space,” he spits out. “Those dickheads aren’t her type anyways.”
“So you like her then—”
“Hell no,” he scoffs with an inscrutable expression. “She’s definitely not my type. Let’s get that straight, Satsuki.” He finally decides to look at Momoi with his peripheral vision, but all he discerns is her face clearly glaring at him. “The hell are you looking at me like that? Are you gonna tell me that I can’t have a preference now?”
Momoi softens her harsh expression at his question. “Well… no, but…” She stops before she sighs and decides to drop her interrogation. “I just have that womanly instinct, you know? I think (y/n)-chan might see you as—”
“... I know.” His tone becomes one of defeat, his face also softening from his usual frowning countenance.
“Dai-chan…?” Momoi, immediately noticing his change, tries to look at his face to peer into his eyes, but Aomine averts his eyes away under her scrutiny. “You’re going to have to at least tell her, you know that, right…?”
He grunts under his breath as his only response, but his eyes fixating on your half-eaten bento as he keeps walking ahead speaks volumes to Momoi about his inner turmoil.
She drops the subject for his sake.
———
[January 17th]
You’ve stopped bugging Aomine about basketball entirely.
Bringing it up, you reason, seems to be a really sore spot for him as of late, and it’s hypocritical of you to lecture him on it when you have no clue on the topic to begin with. Maybe you can entrust that role completely to Momoi… after all, he’s much closer to her than he is with you. Maybe instead of “being his mom,” like Aomine says, perhaps you should take the time to observe and appreciate the things around you and mind your own business. Like the trees starting to bud… the refreshing breeze… and white noise of students excitedly talking to each other as they pass by buildings… the therapeutic page flips next to you as Aomine slouches to get himself comfortable on the concrete. Though, that’s what you tell yourself as you continue to hear Aomine give an occasional hum of approval.
The knowledge of the content inside those pages isn’t therapeutic in the slightest. But you’d rather endure your petty feelings of jealousy than to risk upsetting him again. You clench your skirt pleats with every increasing number of page-turns you hear… he’s been going through his new collection a lot faster than usual, too…
You hone your focus on your modern history worksheet on your lap instead, hoping that staring at the printed figure of Yamagata Aritomo hard enough could somehow transport you into Meiji-era Japan and escape your current predicament. Still, you’re grateful that you have the chance to sit next to him at the usual rooftop once again. You don’t know how exactly you two agreed to come up to share the space again, but when you decided to come up to the rooftop on a whim, Aomine was already there. All he said was a lazy “yo” before he went back to reading his issues, which you took as a way for him to tell you that he didn’t mind your presence. And you settled yourself a few feet away from him, making yourself comfortable on the concrete before settling down your bag. Hence, leading up to this point… which you sort of regret being here now.
No matter, if you’re already here, you might as well actually start studying for your high school entrance exams. Normally you’d also turn to Aomine to scold him to take his studies just as seriously, but when you habitually turn to face him and open your mouth… you stop.
What am I thinking? You’re not his mom, remember, (y/n)? You want him to see you as a desirable woman. Stop being naggy!
You give a wry smile to yourself, watching Aomine at peace in this shared moment between the two of you, even if his object of his undivided attention was Horikita Mai.
It’s okay… you think. As long as I get to remain by his side like this, I won’t ask for more.
You force yourself to peel your gaze away from him to look back at the historical figure printed rather crookedly on the paper. You resolve yourself to pick up your pencil and start writing.
You don’t really know how much time passes between the two of you. It could’ve been only thirty minutes; it could’ve been a couple hours. But you begin to find solace with the rhythm of the graphite sliding across your paper, your mind too occupied with recalling lecture notes and your ears too filled with the sound of your pencil scurrying across the print to register anything on Aomine’s end. At last, you finish the last short-answer question on the page, and you gently drop your pencil as your body finally releases all the pent-up tension. Shifting your seating position slightly, you dare to take a peek at the ace of Teiko…
… only to find that his eyes were on you.
Both of you jump and look away at the unexpected shared eye contact, both equally mortified that the other had caught each other staring.
“S-Sorry…” you mumble, “I was just checking on you after I was done with work on my end…”
“Tch… you got too quiet, so I thought you got replaced or somethin’...” he trails off before he goes back to his usual cocky self. “Seeing your ugly face though was more than enough proof that you’re still here.”
You gape at him. “Eh?! What’s that supposed to mean, Ahomine!? Like you’re one to talk, stupid!”
He lazily blinks before putting a pinky in his ear to further irritate you. “Dunno, whenever you’re here, you usually get steam coming out of your nose, like some folklore monster.”
“What?!” you gasp. “I do not!”
“Just like that.”
“Geez…!” you click your tongue, turning away from him to disengage from the banter. “I might have an ugly face, but your nasty attitude won’t get you anyone either, idiot.”
“So what?” he shrugs languidly. “All I need is Horikita Mai-chan, anyways.”
You involuntarily grimace at his serious tone… even if there was (or so you hope) a slight chance that he’s just joking. Thankfully, your face was already turned away for him to notice.
“Yeah, yeah,” you sigh, trying to sound casual. “All those magazines are pretty self-explanatory, y’know.” You then nod your head in his direction, referring to a few scattered booklets strewn around his legs. Turning away, you stretch your legs out, put your things back in your bag, and get up to stand with one final stretch.
“You’re leavin’ already?” he raises a brow at your sudden movement.
“You know that sitting on cement like that for so long isn’t ideal for studying,” you half-chide, inwardly thankful that coming up with excuses has become much easier lately. “I’m probably gonna head home right now before it gets too dark. Are you really gonna stay here all day?”
“I’m too tired to move.”
“You’re so childish, you know that?” You give a small laugh at his antics. “Well, do whatever you need to do. I’ll be on my way. Seeya.”
You skip a bit, eager that you get to escape without raising any suspicions. Aomine might not excel academically, but he isn’t stupid… quite the opposite, in fact. You often get annoyed at how sharp he gets for the most random situations.
“Oi.”
You’re on the first ladder step going down when he calls out, freezing as you grip the sides of the ladder. You watch him get up into a comfortable sitting position, before he looks at you for a bit.
“Er… did you want something?” you tilt your head in slight confusion.
“Never mind,” he sighs. “... Had something on my mind, then forgot. Make me a bento for tomorrow, yeah?”
“He averts his gaze when he lies,” Kuroko said.
You were walking home together, deciding that visiting the convenience store for a quick snack would be a good detour.
“Who?” you stopped licking your ice pop to look at Kuroko’s stare boring into you.
“Aomine-kun.”
“Eh? Why are you telling me this?” you raised a brow at the odd turn of conversation.
He only gave you a knowing look that you couldn’t completely understand before he replied: “I noticed he had this habit recently, and I was wondering if you also noticed it too, seeing that you guys hang out a lot, (l/n)-san. Even if we grew distant, he’s still an important friend to me, so I was hoping if you knew something that was possibly troubling him. I did tell him that I wasn’t going to make him tell me anything he wasn’t comfortable with.”
“No,” you shook your head. “But I’ll keep your words in mind.”
“Thank you.” He smiled. “If you ever have something that’s troubling you, you can come talk to me. You’re my friend, too.”
He’s not looking at you.
You open your mouth to ask what he was about to say, but you close it just as quickly. It’s not your business to prod, after all. Your own gaze skids away while your lips pressed together.
“Well, then…” you say. “If that’s all, then I’ll be off. No promises on the bento, though.”
The sound of metal squeaking and clothes rustling follow your descent down the ladder before metal screeches echo as you open and close the door of the rooftop entrance.
(“You’re going to have to at least tell her, you know that, right…?”)
Aomine sighs loudly in annoyance before he goes back to indulging everything Horikita Mai had to offer in the 27th volume special.
———
[January 22nd]
“What did I say about taking (y/n)-chan’s food?!” Momoi trails after Aomine with a scowl as he continues to walk unbothered. “This is the 5th day in a row!”
“Is it really a problem if she lets me?” Aomine holds your bento box in one hand while covering his face with the other as he yawns. “You can ask her yourself if you don’t believe me.”
“You really don’t understand the heart of a lady—ugh! I swear, you’re as dumb as a rock!”
“Whatever.”
Momoi harshly knits her brows at his apathetic attitude towards you. What should she do? Should she tell you? Should she keep pushing Aomine to be honest? She swallows before deciding it best to keep quiet. But her heart hammers in fear of witnessing another friendship between you, Aomine, and herself crumbling before her eyes again.
Dai-chan… she thinks, looking at his back as he munches on your onigiri. Stop being an idiot for once, would you?
———
[March 1st]
“Thanks,” he says, immediately snatching your bento box out of your hands the moment you pulled it out of your bag.
“What the hell?!” you glare at him, putting your hands to your hips.
“I know you packed an extra one, (y/n). Don’t get mad at me now.” He merely picks up the chopsticks before digging into the tempura. “Ish perrty good shrimp.”
You widen your eyes, forgetting completely to be angry at the sight of Aomine genuinely enjoying your cooking. You avert your gaze at the compliment. “T-Thanks…”
Aomine looks at you, the you that has grown to become compliant and bashful in his presence recently.
(“You’re going to have to at least tell her, you know that, right…?”)
He goes back to finishing your lunch instead of thinking about the difficult things. A part of him likes the current dynamic you two share recently, a nice balance between entertaining banter, peaceful privacy (especially when you stopped yapping his ear off as of late), and free food. Saying the things that Momoi wants him to say could ruin everything you two had. So he doesn’t say anything.
Since when did you start making him lunch every day without him saying anything? It’s been a month since this started, ever since he made that one off-comment about making him lunch to throw you off from his uncharacteristic silence. You never complained that it was too much work, and you certainly never slacked off on your craft when it came to your bento boxes. Every lunch he’s eaten from you was carefully curated and cooked to near perfection.
It’s unfair for you, he knew. What would he say though? He’s never been one with words at all. He frowns.
“Something wrong with my lunch?” you tease, and he looks up to see you staring at him so fondly.
Quit looking at me like that…
“Tch, it’s edible enough,” he slightly sulks at your good-natured tease before shoving another helping into his mouth.
“Say,” you begin, eagerly leaning forward to get his attention. “What school are you thinking of enrolling in a couple weeks?”
“None of your business,” he snorts, already satisfied at seeing your fond, sappy look turning into a more combative expression. There it is.
“Oh come on!” you insist. “So you already chose a school without telling me? Let me guess, it’s one of those… Kings of… schools—the really strong schools for basketball?”
“Three Kings of Tokyo,” he corrects you. “Nah.”
“Tell me,” you huff with your arms crossed. “Or I’m not making you bento anymore, and you can starve to death.”
“Geez, I was about to tell you anyways,” he drawls, already finishing the last bite. “That one school called Touou.”
“Huh? But I’ve never really heard of that school from anywhere though, especially for basketball.”
“Yeah, got an offer, though.”
“Oh…” you hum, packing away your own lunch into your bag. “If that’s the case, I might consider that school too, then.”
“Hah?” He raises a brow. “Why?” He puts his utensils down to look at your figure.
“Uh…” you mumble, fiddling with the hem of your shirt. “Someone’s gotta have to keep you in check, right? Besides, I personally don’t have any idea where to go yet either.”
“If you’re just coming to tag along with me,” Aomine begins, narrowing his eyes. “Forget it. Satsuki is already coming with me, no matter how much I tell her to buzz off. I don’t need another person to nag me 24/7.”
“But—!” you counter, raising your eyes to meet his own. “How are you gonna manage with lunch and all?”
“I’m not a kid, (y/n), and you know that,” he coolly responds. “They have cafeterias, vending machines, and fast food spots. I can manage without you.”
“Um, even so…” you argue, though your voice dwindles at his strong attempts of pushing you away. You feel uneasy at the inevitable argument that’s to come right around the corner. “I’m not as easy to get rid of either like Momoi, you know that more than anyone, too.”
Goddamn it, why were you so stubborn at the wrong times? Can’t you take a hint?
(“You’re going to have to at least tell her, you know that, right…?”)
“Look…” he sighs, eyes looking straight at you to convey his message across. “I know you like me, and all. But you’re not my type. I don’t see you that way.”
But even though he tries his damn hardest to look at you, he can’t. He chickens out at the last sentence and looks away.
“I-I… I know… I’ve known,” you weakly reply. “But staying by your side as friends is more than what I can ask for. I value our friendship more than anything else.”
“And I’m not the guy for you, either,” he carefully continues. “Can’t believe I’m sayin’ this, but choose a school for your own good—”
“Who are you to decide whether or not you’re good for me?” you snap, visibly frustrated at the turn of events. Weren’t you two just enjoying each other’s presence a few minutes ago? Was it all in your head? “I make the choice of whether or not I want to spend time with you! And you know how persistent I can be… I’m sure Touou has a really good curriculum and selection of extracurriculars, too, I can make it work—”
“You’re an actual dumbass,” he hisses, his short temper getting the better of him after you went hostile on him. How could you not see his point? “How does this shit keep flying over your head?”
You flinch, the feeling so familiar to the time he lashed out on you at the rooftop. He’s glaring into your widened eyes, but he doesn’t care right now, the words he’s been struggling to form and tell you for months now flowing out of him with no filter. If he only realized you liked him a couple months back, how long have you actually liked him? A year? More than that? The adrenaline right now is the only crutch in giving him the courage to give you some type of closure you deserved, even if a part of him hates to see you upset.
“... The hell’s that supposed to mean…?” Your voice cracks at the end, and your hands grip the straps of your book bag so hard they’re shaking.
Where’s the boy I liked from 2 years ago?
“I mean exactly what I said,” he spits out, his own frown further deepening into a visible crease on his face. “Look, (y/n), you can’t keep tailing after me forever. That’s hella annoying.”
“What about Momoi…?” you whisper. “I get that you’re childhood friends, but how come you always let her stay by your side?”
“Look,” he shoots back. “Satsuki is different—”
“Aomine-kuuuun!” Momoi’s voice rings across campus, and Aomine whirls around to see her running to him at breakneck speed. “Hey, hey! There’s a new coffee shop around the corner! We should totally try it together! I’ll even pay for you if you ask nicely enough…”
You stare at the floor, trying to hold back unshed tears by gripping your bag straps even harder. “... Excuse me.”
“Wha–hey!” Aomine turns back to face where he presumed you were at, only to see you gone from his sight.
“... Was that (y/n)-chan?” Momoi shoots a curious glance behind his back.
“Tch, don’t worry about it.” He gives a long, winded sigh before scratching the back of his head. “Just leave her be.”
She only gives a worried look at him before she continues with her prior conversation.
———
[March 4th]
You avoid him for the next few days… that much he expects. He’ll never say it out loud, but he finds it sort of amusing to see you try to keep yourself completely hidden from him. The way you duck when you see him; the way you scramble to grab your belongings before you book it; the way you try to run so fast to escape his line of vision when he can easily catch up to you if he just jogs. But he doesn’t.
Because even though he’s a bit bummed about what happened the other day, he now doesn’t feel the pressure to stick around you just to build up his courage to finally give you that closure.
It feels quite nice to not have any obligations and demands expected of Momoi or you. Naps have never been so peaceful now that his sense of conscientiousness has been relieved. Other than Momoi occasionally bothering him, but that’s manageable… he’s quite used to that.
He’s not 100% used to not seeing you around him every day, though.
It’s probably for the best.
Still, maybe he was too harsh on you (like always). But there’s no way in hell he’s going to march up to you and grab your arm while you’re running and then apologize. That might give you the wrong idea—
“Pssst, hey, (y/n)-san seems distant from Aomine, lately.” A small group of people huddled around a desk, surrounding a guy sitting on it, who appears to be the source of the voice.
“Weird, isn’t it? She follows him around every day, and he’s always guarding her or something.”
Bullshit. He doesn’t “guard” her—his resting bitch face and his ridiculous athletic build have always been advantageous for both (y/n) and Momoi to repel off the creeps. Not that he cared. It’s only when they get so noisy and too close in his bubble that he gives them verbal threats of violence. And that almost always works to scare them away.
“Think I can have a chance with her this time?”
“I dunno… (y/n)’s not the passive type to go along with it. I mean how else could she deal with Aomine every day?”
“... You’re right.”
“I mean… there’s Momoi…”
Aomine sighs. They really have nothing better to do, huh.
They’re right that they’re the type of people (y/n) wouldn’t like in the slightest. He doesn’t know what you see in him, but at least your standards aren’t abysmally low where you’d happily go along with one of them. He scoffs to himself in a way to mock their desperate attempts.
They don’t know what’s coming to them if they actually were serious about dating her. Avoiding her romantic advances is like dodging a bullet, actually.
He kinda misses your cooking, though. His self-assured grin instantly flips into a frown at the stray thought.
———
[March 5th]
Imagine his unadulterated shock when he sees you casually walk up to his desk and drop a wrapped package of (what he assumes) his bento box the next day.
“What,” you dryly say. “Did you think you could get rid of me that easily?”
“... Whatever.” He merely eyes the lunch before he carefully tries to get a read on your face. Holy shit, you look awful, eyes slightly puffy probably from all the crying you did behind closed doors. He chooses not to acknowledge the weird pang his heart does at the sight of you.
“Aw, don’t be like that,” you goad, though you sound a bit too exhausted to be provoking. “At least, until we graduate and go into our high schools, let me continue making lunch for you. As… a symbol of our… good friendship.” You hesitate to try to find the right phrasing for the last part… Now that you really thought about it these past few days… were you two really friends? You just bothered and tagged along with Aomine your entire three years here at Teiko, and you always tried to cater your schedule and interests around him. Here you were, trying to understand him as best as you can.
Did he even try to understand me at all the entire time we’ve known each other?
“... What’s your game?” he says, clearly thrown off guard, He opts to look away from you to stare at the window by his desk. “... Did I not make it clear last time?”
“Yeah, yeah… I know.” You give a sad smile before your grin grows unnaturally wider to hide your vulnerabilities. “You were unusually honest. So honest, it threw me off.”
No more… I’m not opening my heart to you any longer.
“Are you here to just embarrass me or something for revenge?”
“No one has that type of deplorable thinking like you,” you chastise, seemingly back to your old self. “Besides, we’re friends, first and foremost, and I can’t ignore a friend in need. You were probably starving yourself like an idiot, or something.”
Aomine was still facing the windowsill, but at your words, his eyes flitted to look at you once more. “... You sound like Tetsu.”
“Oh wow!” you gasp, putting a hand to your mouth in surprise. “How’d you know we’re dating?”
He whips his head to you. “What?! What the hell are you talking about?—”
“Kidding,” you interrupt him before he gets too explosive on you. “You can’t be that much of an idiot to not be able to call out that bluff.”
“Screw off.”
He can only click his tongue in absolute annoyance as he hears you laugh to yourself walking out of the room before the school bell rings.
Yeah, you're definitely back to your normal self.
He’s a bit reassured that he’ll still have you in his life.
———
[March 15th]
It’s been two weeks since Aomine completely crushed your hopes of a romantic relationship with him. You don’t feel okay, not at all, but you’re eagerly counting down the days before you can go to Seirin with Kuroko.
And no, you never planned to go in order to be by Kuroko’s side. It was a mere coincidence that you found out.
[March 8th]
“(l/n)-san, what’s wrong?” Kuroko sipped his vanilla shake, popping up out of nowhere while you were in the middle dwelling in your negative thoughts alone at your table. Your burger was left half-eaten, and your fries got cold.
“EEP!” You were shocked out of your daze, jumping in your seat. You eyed a worried Kuroko across the table. “Ah, geez, it’s just you. When’d you get here?”
“For a while actually,” he admitted. “I first called out your name from afar, but it didn’t seem like you noticed me.”
“Well,” you sweatdropped. “I don’t think I would’ve noticed you anyways under any other circumstances…”
“When you’re upset…” Kuroko said. “You have your own habit of looking down, whether it’s your lap, the floor, or what’s in front of you.”
“Leave it up to you to easily figure that out,” you sighed. “You’re always with me when I’m thinking about something dumb or just messed up. Sorry that you constantly have to deal with that.”
“It’s not a problem, (l/n)-san.”
“Yeah…” you mumbled. “So, I’m gonna get straight to the point… Aomine knew he liked me, and yeah, it didn’t end well…”
“Ah.”
“Don’t worry, though,” you reassured him. “I knew all along that it would… end up this way.”
“... Even if you hoped for more?”
“I can’t help that, can I?” you sighed again. “Anyways, right now, I was thinking about what I want to do after I graduate from Teiko… I never thought about these things like that. ‘Cause, you know, I thought I could figure things out on the go while being by both Aomine’s side… but I guess he’s right that I shouldn’t mindlessly follow him everywhere… and Momoi has her own plans of going to Touou as their basketball manager. I should leave those two be.”
Kuroko stayed silent for you to continue.
“Seirin seems like a good school… It’s new, but it has really good facilities, and even if I don’t know what to do, it seems like it can give lots of good opportunities, and if anything, it can give me a fresh start.”
Kuroko slightly widened his eyes. You noticed and tilted your head for him to explain his reaction.
“I’m also going to attend Seirin.”
“E-Eh?!! That’s a scary coincidence… What’s your reason for picking it?”
“... They seem to have a good basketball team,” he quietly replied, his eyes looking as if they’re looking so far back. “I like their teamplay. I’ve been wanting to be in that type of team for a long time.”
“I see…” you murmured. For a moment, you noticed Kuroko’s pained look… but remembering Aomine’s words about being nosy, you decided not to press into it.
You give a long sigh again. And here you thought that you can end your last year at Teiko well and happily. Right now, you would usually look for Aomine in his usual spots: Maji Burger, the school rooftop, or the local park. It’s different now. Sitting on an empty table outside to finish up the rest of those pesky kanji worksheets, you finally truly take in your surroundings… the trees starting to bloom this time… the refreshing breeze… and white noise of students excitedly talking to each other as they pass by buildings… but there are no longer the therapeutic sounds of page flips next to you as Aomine slouches to get himself comfortable on the concrete. Though, you pretend you’re next to him as you continue to somehow hear Aomine give an occasional hum of approval at whatever filthy page he feasted his eyes on.
Once again, the knowledge of the content inside those pages you imagined isn’t therapeutic in the slightest.
It hurts.
And there’s no way you can focus on the questions, not when thoughts of Aomine continue to pervade and fill up every damn crevice—every crook and cranny—of your mind.
Were you missing something? Were you not pretty enough? Were you not relatable enough? Was there another way for Aomine to consider seeing you as a romantic partner?
For the first time, you really let the implications of Aomine’s words sink in… If you had more agency—more independence—in the first place, would he have considered letting you tag along to Touou? What if… you had more knowledge on basketball like Momoi?—
“(y/n)-chan…!”
A familiar, chirpy voice breaks you out of your wallow in self-pity and a flash of pink fills your vision. Of course your thoughts accidentally summoned her here, you wrly think. Momoi represented the complete opposite of your current emotional state, flouncing around quite cheerfully to grab your attention. Though, if you are completely honest, she has the same look of sorrow in her eyes similar to Kuroko’s.
“What’s wrong, Momoi?” you ask, giving her a reassuring smile to encourage her to share her potential troubles.
“Eh…? What’s wrong with me?” she frowns in confusion.
“You look a bit down, that’s all. You and Kuroko share the same look in your eyes sometimes.”
“Oh…” she averts her gaze. Normally, she would squeal about having something in common with her “true love,” but she takes on a somber note of acknowledgment. “I guess you can say that… but more importantly!” She directs the subject of conversation to you. “You! (y/n)-chan! You look like you need more comfort than me.”
She takes a seat next to you and eyes at your worksheets, noting the sporadic dried splotches across the paper. You’ve been crying.
“I guess it takes a sad person to know another one,” you joke, though your smile doesn’t quite reach your eyes. Momoi frowns at her only friend (besides the GoM) in such a distressed state, even if she knows you’re actively trying to hide it.
“It’s about Dai-chan, isn’t it?”
“Ah…” you look down at your worksheets. “So you knew.”
“Sorry…” she murmurs. “I told him to be gentle and honest with you.”
“Well he certainly gave me the latter,” you softly laugh. “Hey, hey… there’s no need to be down for my sake.” You immediately reach out to gently ruffle her hair with a head pat. She widens her eyes at the unexpected physical contact.
“Sorry, did I push my boundaries?”
“No, no…!” she denies, shaking her head to reassure you. “You reminded me of Tetsu-kun right now… that’s all.”
“Huh, I guess he’s been rubbing off on me,” you muse. A thought comes to you. “Actually, can I ask you something?”
“Eh?” She blinks. “Sure, I’ll try my best to answer whatever it is.”
You finally look up to face Momoi head on. “Was I ever too overbearing on Aomine? I wonder if I crossed any boundaries with him at any point. If you noticed anything at any point, please tell me everything.”
“No,” she firmly reassures. “You didn’t do anything wrong at all. Dai-chan is the real idiot here. You’ve only done what’s best for him, and I would’ve done the same in your place.”
“Pfft, he always calls us nagging grandmas, doesn’t he?”
“Right? He has no tact, at all!” Momoi huffs, puffing out her cheeks in a pout. “Despite all that, he cares for you, (y/n)-chan. I’m serious. Even if he’ll never admit it like the idiot that he is.”
You give a rueful smile. “Thank you, Momoi.”
Turning away from Momoi, you look up at the trees, so full of flowers that it fills the void in your heart by gazing at them. You sense that she’s also doing the same.
“... Hey, Momoi?”
“... yes?”
“You love Kuroko, don’t you?” You turn back to face Momoi. She gives an innocent simper at the mere mention of his name.
“I do. But even though he’s not the type to date, I want to be by his side.”
You smile too, her joy too contagious to ignore, but that smile somewhat deflates when your thoughts go back to Aomine against your will.
“Hey… how do you love someone who doesn’t love you back?”
She pauses and takes in the many implications of your question. “I don’t know,” she admits. “It just happens, you can’t always control it… I’ll wait for Tetsu-kun, even if it’s the most idiotic thing to do. I just can’t help it. That’s what love is, I think.”
“I see…”
“It’s not for everyone. Loving someone like that.”
“I thought I could do that…” Your whisper comes out so hoarse. “With Aomine—I thought… as long as I got to be by his side, I wouldn’t ask for more… but it hurts to go back to being friends—it hurts to see him… I don’t want to see him anymore.” The last part of your confession ends up being a choked sob.
“Shhh…” she hushes you to console you. “It’s okay, it’s good to cry it out.” She rubs down your back as tears endlessly plop onto your worksheets, no doubt ruined by now.
“Please… please don’t tell—”
“I won’t tell anything to Dai-chan… I promise.”
Dai-chan… were you truly honest with (y/n)-chan?
———
[April 6th]
“Aomine-kun! There you are! Where were you? Sheesh, we don’t want to miss the entrance ceremony!”
Aomine towers over the crowd, his eyes clearly scanning—looking—for something amidst the countless students walking around and socializing amongst one another. Even as Momoi tugs on his new uniform blazer (not properly worn, no doubt) to get him to walk, he stands to face the front gates expectantly.
“... Where’s (y/n)?”
“Huh?” Momoi looks at Aomine like he grew three legs. “She’s not at Touou, Ahomine. What are you even talking about?”
“... Thought she woulda tailed me here too.”
“You told her off to choose a different school!”
“I did not,” he grunts. “I told her to choose a school for a reason that’s not on me. Besides, my words never stopped her from annoying me all the time… Wait, when did you hear me say that?”
“You were shouting at her that day! Anybody nearby could’ve heard that!” She glares at him. “And well, those words of yours certainly stopped her now. Do you hear yourself right now?”
“The hell…” he ignores Momoi and curses, kicking the gravel before lazily walking with his hands in his pockets to his assigned seat for the ceremony. Of course, Momoi tails after him despite being pissed off.
Words from all the speeches from the faculty and student alumni went in one ear out the other for him in a continuous slur of nonsense. His body goes on autopilot, standing and sitting when everyone else does the same, while he continues to scan over the hundreds of heads, thinking he must’ve missed your dumbass by mistake. Of course he notices Momoi sitting a short distance away from him; the way everyone ogles at her is obnoxiously contagious and far from discreet.
But where are you?
———
[April 10th]
“... Do you mind if…” you hesitate, turning to Kuroko after he signs his name on the basketball club interest form. “... You teach me more about the sport?”
Kuroko looks at you curiously at your question, and you quickly clarify yourself. “It’s not for Aomine’s sake, or anyone else’s for the matter. I just want to watch a few of your practices, and things like that… it might be fun… I wanna try something new.” You give a small smile, albeit nervously. “I won’t be in the way, I promise—even if I don’t know what’ll be happening most of the time—”
“I’ll ask the coach when the time comes,” Kuroko reassures you, his own smile mirroring your own growing grin at his answer.
“Alrighty!” you cheer. You stop yourself when you see a student who easily towered over everyone at the basketball club booth. “What the… that guy’s a high school student?!”
“Oh,” Kuroko turns to where you were pointing. “He seems like someone with a hot temper.”
“Reminds me of a certain someone, doesn’t he, Kuroko…?” You give a soft elbow jab and a playful lilt, though both of you knew you were both still recovering from the emotional blows from last year.
He quietly nods before he follows you to the other club booths nearby.
———
[April 20th]
“Where did Kuroko go…!” You’re breathless at the bench, watching the game between Seirin and Kaijo. This is just a practice game? It’s way too intense to be considered such.
Riko, amused at your reactions, gladly explains what’s going down on the courts as it happens. “Kuroko’s greatest strength is using his lack of presence for his misdirection—”
“And wait—Kagami is—!” You near-completely ignored Riko’s explanation when Kagami steals the show with a dunk, completely leaving you in awe with his impossible vertical. “What kind of person jumps that high… what the hell?” She merely chuckles with a hand to her lips before she turns her full attention back to the game.
Kise experiences his first taste of defeat soon enough.
You ignore the way your heart flipped when Kagami dunked the final basket on Kaijo.
———
[May 23rd]
Aomine lays serenely on the rooftop, but his mind is far from relaxed. Tomorrow is the day Touou would crush Seirin in the Inter-High preliminaries.
… Seirin, huh.
He remembers when Momoi broke the news to him when they walked home together after the entrance ceremony. Thinking about it still pisses him off—he can’t help it though, he can’t stop thinking about it… his mind involuntarily plays that conversation in his head over and over. No amount of porn magazines could bury the dull thuds in his chest when he thinks about you.
[April 6th]
“She’s at Seirin right now.”
“What?!” His eyes slightly widened as he stopped walking to incredulously look at her. “You’re seriously pullin’ my leg right now, Satsuki.”
“I would totally yank your stupid legs if I could, Ahomine,” she petulantly grumbled. “But I’m telling the truth. She told me before we went off on our spring break when we said our goodbyes to each other. I told her I was going to miss her, and I also told her to take care of Tetsu-kun for me and let me know if anything happened over there.”
What the hell? When did you get close to Satsuki enough to confide in her? How come he didn’t hear shit from you?
“Hah, so you’re telling me she’s tailing Tetsu now that she can't follow me?” He gave a derisive snort, not liking the development of your relationship with Kuroko for some reason. Momoi gave him that knowing look of admonishment.
“Don’t get the wrong idea, idiot! One! They don’t see each other like that, and two! How (y/n)-chan decided on her school is none of our business. I’m sure she has her own reasons, and you have no right to judge her at all!”
Aomine stared at Momoi, who’s usually so compliant to his demands and harsh words. To see her stick up for you so adamantly was more than surprising. He furrowed his brows before walking ahead of her in a feeble attempt to cut the conversation short.
“Tch… I know that already…”
He releases a heavy sigh. His ego wouldn’t allow him to simply go up to Kuroko and ask about your wellbeing, let alone asking him to set up a time and place for him to meet up with you. What were you doing over there right now? Were you doing okay? Are there random people harassing you or bothering you now that he’s not there with you to scare them off?
He slings his arm over his eyes and sighs again.
“... This is annoying. I’m tired…”
God, it sucks so bad, but he really misses your lunches. Satsuki’s atrocious cooking is still lethal to this day, and Sakurai’s octo-dogs he sometimes steals only measures up to a fraction of the taste of your own octo-dogs.
He’s been hallucinating for a bit—even while he naps, he’s sworn that he always hears pencil scribblings and annoying sighs nearby. He swears that it’s you, that you’re actually enrolled in Touou and that somehow, you roped Momoi into agreeing into this sick prank to get back at him for all the shit he’s done to her all these years. He swears he can hear you muttering the questions out loud before you deftly solve them. He swears he can hear you nagging him to practice even if you haven’t had a clue what basketball entails.
What the hell… He thought that you two would still be friends—attached to the hip, even if a romantic relationship was out of the question. He supposes that it’s a bit naive on his end to think that. Damn it, damn it… Seirin isn’t that far from Touou either… wouldn’t you normally find the way and time to stop by and annoy him like there’s no tomorrow, anyways?

[August 14th]
“Kuroko, who do you think would win?”
“I don’t know,” he replies. “This is the first time I’ve seen two Generation of Miracles starters play against each other… However, Aomine-kun inspired Kise-kun to play basketball.”
“Really?” Kagami turns to him in surprise. You stand nearby, listening to Kuroko’s words carefully. After all, they pertained to Aomine.
“They used to play one-on-one a lot, but Kise-kun has never won.”
Aomine… was THAT good? You blink in surprise, remembering about Seirin’s practice match against Kaijo before you turn your attention back on the court. Well, you shouldn’t be that surprised, considering that the Seirin returned with a loss against Touou in the preliminaries… before getting eliminated altogether later on. Knowing how amazing Kagami and Kuroko are at basketball… if they both got single-handedly defeated by the ace of Touou, you shouldn’t doubt Kuroko’s words about Aomine’s strength. You weren’t there to watch that game after all.
You feel a warm, heavy hand pushing on top of your head.
“H-Hey!”
“You have a scary look on your face that I almost mistook you for Aomine,” Kagami says quite seriously, though if you squint, you swear that he’s teasing you. Irk marks pop onto your temples as you try to shoo his hand off of you.
“Oh—come on! Lay off, will you? I do not have a scary face! If anything, it’s you!”
“The hell do you mean by that?!”
“I mean exactly what I said, Kagamidiot!”
Kuroko, unbeknownst to anyone, observes your interaction with Kagami with the faintest smile before turning his attention to see the referee starting the jump ball.
“Everyone, it’s starting.”

[December 7th]
He… he lost.
He finally lost.
Aomine stares at Kuroko and Kagami, still reeling from the foreign sensation of defeat creeping into him.
“Why are you acting like it’s all over?” Aomine snaps out of his daze to focus on Kagami. “Things are just getting started. Let’s play again. I’ll take you on.”
Aomine stands there at a loss for words until he scoffs at him, but if anyone was to look at Aomine right now, they would say he’s relieved and pleased to hear those words. “Shut up, idiot.”
“Aomine-kun…” Kuroko calls out, bringing Aomine’s attention from Kagami to his former “shadow.” A moment of reflection is shared between the two of them before Aomine finally acknowledges Kuroko’s style of basketball.
“You win, Tetsu.”
Kuroko contemplates for a bit before opening his mouth. “Can I ask you for a favor?” Kuroko raises his hand in a fist bump before Aomine makes a noise for him to continue. “You still haven’t returned my fist bump.”
“What?” he retorts, slightly flustered at the sudden request. “Who cares about that?”
“No,” Kuroko says, deadpan as ever. “Try putting yourself in the shoes of the ignored.” Aomine gives a long look, hesitant and unsure before he finally relents.
“Fine. This is the last time though… Next time, I’ll win.”
“Okay.”
While still holding the fist bump, Aomine finally brings himself to ask the question plaguing in his mind for the past couple months: “Hey… is it true that (y/n) is in Seirin?”
Kuroko widens his eyes in momentary surprise before he carefully responds. “Yes, she’s actually been cheering us on these past couple months. She’s somewhere in the stands right now. Though, I’m not sure where.”
“I see…” The ace of Touou separates from the fist bump first and turns to get ready for the team lineup, looking rather thoughtful.
Kagami raises a brow at the question that came out of seemingly nowhere for someone like Aomine, but in truth, he knew. You told him everything about what happened between you and Aomine a couple weeks ago while shedding tears.
“There’s nothing wrong with you at all.”
“Eh?” You attempted to wipe the last of your tears before you looked at Kagami to see his reaction. He still could see how red your eyes were even despite trying to remain unbothered about the ordeal. He remembered how distraught you were retelling your past friendship with him… and how you used to like him. How did you even manage to think that you weren’t pretty enough? Helpful enough? And how did you manage to believe yourself to be the most annoying person in the world? Remembering what you said made him boil.
“I can’t believe that guy’s full of it even outside of basketball, that idiot!”
“Honestly…” you gave a sardonic smile to mock your own weakness. “What do you mean?”
“Huh? Well…” He looked away with a comical pout before facing you again. “If I was him, I wouldn’t take you for granted like that. Who the hell would read dirty magazines in broad daylight like that? Seriously, it’s so funny I could bust a spleen!” His response took on a more mocking tone at the end, and he noticed your eyes taking on an amused light at his reaction.
“Didn’t Kuroko correct you that it’s ‘gut,’ and not a ‘spleen’ way back months ago?”
“What? It’s the same thing.” He crossed his arms with a sigh before he looked at your face again, satisfied to see you slightly cheered up. “Anyways, if I ever become like that type of guy, feel free to hit me or something.”
“The way you went and above at being pissed for my sake, I don’t think I’d have to worry about that, Kagami.” Your smile grew to be teasing and affectionate, and his heart started to race at the sight of it.
“Uh—well…” Kagami averted his gaze, scratching his cheek to hide his flushed cheeks. “It’s just… I think you’re fine the way you are.”
You widened your eyes at his words.
“Really…?”
His heart broke at how truly surprised you were at his candor. He meant it; he really did, and it wasn’t fair for you to live like this just because some prick didn’t have the balls to be nice to you, something you deserved again and again.
“I’ll wake that idiot up for you, I swear it.”
You started laughing at him, catching him completely off-guard as his face started heating up even more. “What—hey! What the hell’s so funny?! I’m trying to be serious!”
“Ah…” you breathed out, wiping out the last of your tears after doubling over for a few minutes. “Don’t worry, Kagami. I believe in you. Beat his ass in the Winter Cup for me, yeah?”
Kagami cleared his throat before he mustered up the courage to give you a gentle head pat (albeit very clumsily).
“Y-Yeah…”
Kagami frowns, wondering if you and Aomine will ever sort things out after this game. Part of him worries that your next encounter with him wouldn’t go very smoothly, knowing how complicated Aomine is as an individual.
Kuroko looks at the floor before continuing, almost as if he read Kagami’s mind. “We should also move to line up, Kagami.”
“... Yeah.”

[December 8th]
“Shopping is such a damn pain,” Aomine yawns, holding his box of new basketball shoes under his arm. Momoi, of course, is already next to him ready to scold him into oblivion.
“Did you forget that your feet are humongous? Of course the shops wouldn’t have your size,” she sighs at his childish attitude. “Now you’re going to try this new pastry shop with me! You promised to come with me if I went with you to shop for your shoes.”
“I don’t remember promising anything.”
“Meanie! You did! Now don’t be like that and wait here! I’m going to check the lines and available tables.” And before Aomine can wedge another complaint in, Momoi dashes like her life was on the line, clearly risking everything for a chance to taste the strawberry mille-feuille that the shop was famous for.
Geez… he mentally sighs before deciding to look for a place to sit. She better hurry her ass up.
Luckily for him, there’s a spare empty bench near some trees despite the busy crowds. Taking the opportunity, he plops himself down while settling his shoe box next to him. He looks at the box for a moment. He finally has a rival now, huh. Seirin… he wonders how long it’s been since he last saw you… a couple months? Actually… it’s been almost a year.
Indulging Horikita Mai-chan feels off now, and indulging even more of her featured volumes made him feel worse than if he didn’t read any of them to begin with. The temptation to pick up a new racy issue has declined drastically, and Wakamatsu’s threats of burning them are becoming less dire as the days go by. If he actually burned them now, he probably would remain just as unphased and still not show up to practice. Well, now he’ll consider showing up to practice with or without the threats anyways, now that Kagami can keep him on his toes.
He gives a rueful smile. You’re always meddling in his affairs and ruining the consistent routines he’s set up for himself, even if you’re not physically by his side. That’s just like you to ruin him like this. He frowns. Or maybe you’re doing this on purpose as karma for him being an asshole to you all this time. Maybe you’re an Imayoshi, and you’re playing him like a fiddle?
Nah, he thinks, a small chuckle escaping from his lips. You’re too much of an idiot to think like that. You’re too easy to read, (y/n).
He shoves his hands into the pockets of his navy puffer jacket, and he leans forward on the bench with a long exhale. This isn’t good, he’s been thinking about you way too damn much. It’s actually concerning. Is it because he feels bad about chasing you off? Is it because of the uncertainty of his current standing with you in terms of your friendship? Maybe.
He amended his friendship with Kuroko through basketball, something that he’s very comfortable in navigating about. But you? How is he going to approach you?
He’s too much of a coward to stop by Seirin and look for you and get the answers, though.
“Your grades are absolutely atrocious, what the hell? How are you gonna fare well on the final exams for the semester?”
“That’s… we’ll worry about that when the time… comes.”
“Wrong answer! We can’t have you failing when you’re just a first year!”
“Oh come on, I still have two more years to pick up my slack, don’t I?”
Aomine slightly perks up at the familiar voices, the conversation breaking him out of his own thoughts. He freezes when he sees you.
The sight of you sends his own heart into a frenzy, his heart pounding against his chest so incessantly—painfully. The adrenaline he accumulated from his last game is no match for the compressions he feels at this very moment. Is it because he hasn’t seen you for nearly a year that he feels this way? You look different—older for sure—and definitely just as expressive as you were back in Teiko. You’re wearing your casual clothes and the biggest smile he’s seen from you yet.
But the person who’s making you smile like that isn’t him. His eyes finally stop focusing on you to look at the bigger picture in front of him. His eyes widen further when he registers that it’s none other than Kagami.
“Oh come on,” Kagami sighs at your pout. “Don’t be like that…”
“Look, I’ll even offer you tutoring free of charge, but you can’t neglect your studies.”
“Fine, fine…” Kagami ruffles your hair to appease you. “Just know I’m not that good with these types of things. You’re gonna have to take it easy with me.”
“Obviously! Did you think I was gonna bust out a master theory textbook on you? I’m not heartless! Honestly…” You punch his arm before you smile at him. “Before we get going, how’s your legs? You haven’t pushed yourself too much, have you?”
“Nah, I’m okay now.” He sweatdrops when he sees you raising your brow in suspicion. “I’m serious this time!”
“Pffft,” you snicker at how easy it is to get a reaction out of him. “How about to celebrate your win, we can go try that new pastry shop down the street? I heard the strawberry mille-feuille is really good there… maybe we can both try our hands in making a homemade recipe after?”
“Huh, I haven’t had that in a while, actually. Sounds pretty good.”
“Actually, what types of desserts do Americans even serve over there? We can save a day where we can bake the team an entire stockpile for them to try? Though, I hope Riko doesn’t somehow tamper them with protein powder…”
It’s comical to see Aomine having his eyes so bugged out of their sockets that they look like they might fall out with a nudge. But he doesn’t care—his mind’s racing so much, overclocking and overworking in trying to connect the dots at the scene he’s trying to register and comprehend.
“Where’s the shop again?” Kagami asks, scanning around for any sign that indicates “sweets” and “baked goods.”
“There.” You point ahead of you in a general direction, and Kagami, taking advantage of his height, easily spots the shop. What catches Aomine’s attention is how you wrap your other hand around his arm. What really bothers him though, is how nonchalant Kagami is at your touch.
“Come on.” Kagami snakes his hand to gently encapsulate your hand, the same one that casually wrapped around his arm moments earlier. Aomine’s breath gets caught in his throat, watching you two like a hawk. Kagami tugs your hand behind him as he leads you through the crowd, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.
It shouldn’t be natural, though. It shouldn’t be Kagami holding your hand. It should’ve been—
(“And I’m not the guy for you, either.”)
Yeah, Aomine knows that he sure as hell ain’t the guy for you. But Kagami? Of all people? Aomine grits his teeth watching you two. He’s sure as hell that Kagami isn’t the one for you either. He would even rather prefer Kuroko being by your side like this than him… But he can’t deny how Kagami does a better job at making you happier than he himself could ever do. You’re in good hands, and he doesn’t have to worry about any potential asshats bothering you at Seirin, or anywhere for that matter from now on.
So why… Why does his heart continue to pound so hard when he sees how gentle his rival is with you? Why isn’t his chest letting up? Why does he feel like his windpipes are constricted? His mouth is parted like a fish, his body motionless, his new shoes forgotten. He doesn’t move until you’re no longer in his line of vision, completely swallowed up by the crowded lines and mobs of other shoppers.
Did Tetsu know about this?
He finally closes his mouth, allowing himself to swallow, though his mouth is impossibly too heavy and dry to do so comfortably. Still leaned forward, he rests his elbows on his knees, his eyes opting to stare at the cracks and dried gum. His brain’s had enough from all the processing.
What the hell’s wrong with me?
This isn’t like him. You’re dating Kagami. So what? And he’s not a bad guy. He still has you as a friend, and it’s not like he didn’t lose you for good… right?
His body contradicts his rationalizing when his hand tingles against his will… as if it wants to be held by you. He clicks his tongue in annoyance, gritting his teeth before giving a despondent chuckle.
I’m pathetic, aren’t I… all this time, I’ve never realized that…
He sees a flash of your clothes before you disappear around the block, holding your dessert box to-go while still holding hands with Kagami.
… that what I wanted was…
“Dai-chan!” Momoi races to him after emerging from the crowd that you just came out of earlier. He looks up to face her. “I finally got myself their house special! Luckily for you, I got another one before they sold out! Here, be grateful!”
She hands him a daintily packaged box with a fork, and he opens it to face the popular strawberry mille-feuille. He stares at it.
“Uh… is there something wrong?” Momoi tilts her head at his unusual lack of scathing comments, slightly unnerved at his extended silence. Aomine stares at the dessert for a second longer before looking up to see her face contorting into an expression of worry. He averts his gaze.
(“Because I know you’re never honest about your feelings!”)
“... It’s nothing.”

a/n this was supposed to be posted sooo long ago but since I went on break its here now hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
* Well for starters I would like to think Aomine is black like there is no way our dark-skinned bae isn’t somehow black but anyways
* You guys have known each other for a very long time considering he was your older brother’s basketball teammate and best friend
* You thought he would never actually like you because you are his best friend’s younger sister
* I mean he saw you through the ugly stage of puberty as an 11-year-old 🧍🏾‍♀️ (rip)
* And he never showed any type of feelings towards you just being overprotective like an older brother
* However, when you were 17 and your glow up came about things seemed to change
* You guys coincidentally ended up you going to the same college
* Him in a basketball partnership and you studying music
* And because of that you guys grew closer, him being someone you know that had an extra room in his apartment you guys ended up being flatmates to make things simpler for the both of you
* For 6 months nothing really changed other than your growing feelings towards Aomine though it seemed those feelings weren’t reciprocated
* So, in a way to drown your one-sided love you went to a party with the purpose to find someone to hook up with either to take you mind of Aomine or to make him jealous (guys guess who it was?)
* It was Kagami one of Aomine teammates and someone he has an ongoing rivalry with 😈
* So, as you and Kagami danced and partied all night long you invited him over to you place knowing Aomine would be home since he had a match in a week, and he never drank or partied days before a match
* As you entered your shared apartment with Kagami trying to be quiet but failing miserably you saw Aomine in the sofa scowling
* To say those 5 seconds of silence was awkward would be an understatement
* So Kagami being somewhat smart hastily kissed you goodnight and left ( he knew he was going to die, rip )
* As you stared at each other you took deep breathe ready to just say goodnight to Aomine since he just cockblocked you
* However, the unexpected happen he stood up and kissed you
* Cue open and closing you mouth like a fish
* You were so confused by everything you didn’t even realise what he said as he went to his room ‘You are mine so stop fucking around’
* When you went to bed and got ready for your nights rest all you could think of was his words
* As you woke you up the next morning with a massive hangover but with Aomine words in your head you thought things would have changed
* WRONG for the next 2 weeks nothing changed, and you were quickly running out of patience (I mean the audacity of this man)
* So, after the pre-lim matches this week ended you confronted him as he got home
‘Daiki, I gotta speak to you’ you said with in an angry tone
‘Y/n not now I am really tired maybe later’
‘No you have been blowing me off and ignoring the situation this whole time it’s not fair’ you said as your voice slightly increased
‘Fine what do you want to know’ he replied in an exasperated tone as he set his stuff down
‘First what the fuck is wrong with you scowling at who I was with, I never do that to you and secondly the fuck do you mean by I am yours ‘you ranted off
‘Well for starters I don’t go around sleeping around and I meant what I said so yes you are mine’
‘What do you mean yours?’
He stood up softly grabbed your chin and said to you ‘Now you are officially my gf’
* Cue once again mouth gaping open
* Anyways after that whole fiasco you guys officially started dating yayy
* Tbh your brother wasn’t big fan of this combo, but he got over it
* He is those types of bf that doesn’t show his love through words but actions
* Like he will be very possessive of you and always be touching you in some way
* So whenever he occasionally decides to go train after you legit have to blackmail him and he goes but forces you to go with him
* He wants you nearby to keep an eye on you
* Aomine doesn’t really get jealous so if someone flirts with you, he doesn’t really care however he is possessive and likes showing off how you are his
* Like deadass bought you a whole necklace with a basketball and his initials to show everyone who you belonged to???
* However, he also bought a bracelet that has your initials and something you really love e.g. (music note, books idk)
* Matching rings like the cute couple ones that fit into each other (Idk I see Aomine wearing lots of jewellery but low-key type not over the top)
* He also got ‘rid’ of his X-rated magazines (he just locked them away for the time being)
* I think Aomine would have a car but still walk the majority of the time however whenever he decides to drive, he be them sexy drivers (like hand on your thigh)
* Also, an angry driver like will cuss out other people happily but be sweet to you afterwards
* He didn’t want to introduce you to his basketball team not because he was ashamed of you but he knew he would get teased about getting himself in a committed relationship
* You and Momoi literally became besties and pretend to talk shit about him (he hates it)
* He is indifferent to your hair since it’s just a part of your life however when you get braids, he just stares at you like all the time
*Obviously, your family loves him since he is technically family (imagine your mum is already planning the wedding)
* However, if he ever broke your heart then he dead
* You are the only person he actually listens to
Overall goofy as hell but he really does love and can’t see him ever leaving you guys are like those Pinterest black couples
Tumblr media
* You guys met when he went to visit Kagami in America
* You are one of Kagami’s American friends and you were always very interested in meeting the phantom six man
* You actually noticed him and somehow felt his presence
* Over the 2 weeks he was there you guys just really bonded
* Like you used to play basketball a bit with him so yeah
* You guys exchanged number and kept in touch even when he left
* He technically asked you out on ft after doing this whole surprise thing
* He asked Kagami to make sure you dressed really nicely for a dinner
* You didn’t want to at first, but you gave in
* Once you were all set up a in a beautiful balcony with dinner for one and a tablet on the front
* Then Kuroko called and he was equally dressed nicely
* The whole virtual date was really nice and cute something completely different
* Once you both finished your respective meals, and you were just chatting that’s when he popped the question
* He did stutter in the beginning but afterwards he got it out
* You didn’t immediately reply because you never thought he would have asked you
* Poor Kuroko thought you were rejecting him, so he quickly backtracked
* He ready to popped out ‘I am joking’ but you giddily replied ‘yes’
* Now you guys are officially together yayy
* Long distance relationship
* Face Timing a lot e.g. all the time especially falling asleep one or the other due to time difference
* You guys just spent a lot of time talking to one another or just being on the phone for presence (hah ironic)
* Send pics of random things during the day
* I want to say send gifts through the mail but that’s too much money for shipping so instead sending money for food especially from Kuroko
* I want to assume his love language is quality time with a dash of physical touch
* However due you being separated by the globe he shows his love by being on the phone to you as much as possible and constantly texting
* He loves your hair especially the diversity that comes with it
* If he could he would help you during wash day or anything really
* He also knows your routine by heart since you always do it during FaceTime
* Folder full of ft screenshots where you are distracted
* 6 months after you guys had been dating it was his birthday and you made a surprise by visiting Japan without him knowing
* Imagine his surprise when he opened the door at 8 in the morning to a smiling yn
* Didn’t know whether to hug or kiss you first
* Choose the former just because he didn’t want your guys first kiss be when he was half asleep
* You were staying for only 10 days and there was a lot you wanted to do
* On the first day you were pretty jet lagged so you both just slept and cuddled
* The second day was also pretty chilled you guys went around some landmarks where he lived and went parks and cinemas
* The day afterwards was his birthday, so you had the party and great fun and also met his friends
* You had a present for him a matching couple’s bracelet and also kissed him A bit cheesy but everyone was really happy about it
* To be honest your 10 days were great you a guys took that time to do as much as possible to do as much couple stuff as possible and were essentially stuck to each other
Overall your relationship is very strong considering the distance
Tumblr media
* Ahhh Kise the model with multi talents
* Let’s just say you were also a ‘model’ and you guys had never been in a collab together
* You both were at international level, and you were pretty popular, so he knew of you
* Admired your work and found you very attractive
* Anyways you guys finally had a collab when he went to America for a new contract with vogue
* You can’t lie and say you didn’t find him attractive but the impression you got from his personality was annoying
* Let me tell you those 2 weeks where you guys were working together you wanted to kill him (enemies to lovers ya’ll)
* But you didn’t slightly warming up to him for the sake of the job
* He also was pretty good at English and your Japanese wasn’t half bad due to your anime watching (sub supremacy)
* At the end your collab Kise still kept in touch with you
* You guys spoke quite often you being his first American co-worker
* You essentially taught him as much as you could about America in general and helped him find the basketball hotspots so he could keep playing
* During one of your outings to show him where to play basketball where you were supporting him some paparazzi caught you and the media started posting saying you guys were dating
* It was a very messy process because fans were getting peeved about you guys dating
* However due to this rumour occurring when your guys photoshoot was posted there was high magazine sells so you guys were told to make more public appearances to boost sales a bit more but never actually confirmed you guys dating
* In the midst of you guys fake dating for the media and spending even more time together you actually started liking him
* You weren’t sure whether he liked you though since Kise was a naturally flirty person but no worries he was basically in love with you
* Once you confessed to him expecting rejection but getting the opposite you guys started dating
* You guys told your respective managers first who showed a flurry of emotions
* Sure, they were happy for you for being together, but they didn’t know how this would affect both of your careers
* So, for a little while you guys kept it secret from the public just telling family and close friends
* However, after one month of going unsuspected a fan caught you guys kissing and that picture went viral
* So, everyone knew you were dating
* Majority of fans were cool about it saying you guys suit each other and belong together
* But then the toxic fans especially Kise’s didn’t like this at all
* You got sent a few hate messages from them and some went as far to send death threats
* Tbh it was a scary ordeal, but Kise was very supportive and when you guy officially confirmed the rumours in Kise’s live he said thank you for the support but reprimanded those fans
* Kise being a model and you equally made things slightly harder than usual
* You guys were in the public eye so pda was kept minimal
* However, in the comfort of your own homes was something different
* Kise was literally stuck to you at home
* He is so clingy and always requires your physical touch
* You guys are a power couple though like other celebrities loved how confident you both were
* Kise was known for being multitalented and succeeding in the tasks he puts his mind to BUT when it comes to relationships now that’s a different story
* I mean he hasn’t been in a proper serious relationship ever except his occasional flings
* So due to his inexperience in real relationships Kise doesn’t know where the limitations are at
* He is low-key oblivious to his effect on other females (remind anyone of a certain cat boy)
* Other than his accidental flirtatious personality Kise is a great bf
* He truly loves all of you
* Your hair adores it always willing to help you styling it
* Lace wigs bought 75% of them
* Want your nails done will go with you and help you pick
* Meals together always happening which he happily pays for
* Though he much prefers when you cook for him because homemade meals always hit different
* Your family loves him too especially your younger sister who has a small crush on him
* He and your elder brother play basketball quite often
* Your mum happily cooks all type of food for him which he very much appreciates
Overall, he fits very well in your life
Tumblr media
* You guys actually are actually childhood friends you, him and Tatsuya
* You used to cheer for the duo whenever they played
* You also played basketball with the two though you weren’t at god level like the two
* There is a bit of love triangle between the 3 of you but it wasn’t spoken about
* You were closer to Kagami and even had your first kiss with him, but it never really developed since he moved you guys lost contact
* Slightly heartbroken over it you actually started dating Himuro in an attempt to get over Kagami
* Didn’t work and Himuro knew what you were trying to do so he dumped you though you guys are in good terms
* Anyways when he came back from Japan
* Your love rekindled
* From then on you guys were official yayy
* Himuro was a bit salty about it, but you guys were besties and deserved each other
* Dating Kagami isn’t as different as your friendship with him other than the kissing
* Nothing really changed in your dynamic and you guys knew each other pretty well
* However, Kagami did change while in Japan
* He was even more obsessed with basketball
* Like if he wasn’t with you, he was practicing or sleeping
* Even though he spends 50% of his time involved in basketball Kagami loves spending time with you and being around you so you are with him the majority of the time practising together
* Kagami might be very knowledgeable and attentive for basketball but for you not soo much
* He doesn’t recognise obvious signs which is pretty annoying, but he tries
* However, this is not to say he doesn’t have you as a priority because he does but he is a bit slow
* His love language is probably quality time something he doesn’t have much of but words of affirmation being a big one
* Like he will say ‘I love you’ multiple times a day compliment you at all times
* Will spoil you with no concerns want a new lace wig, nails, food sends the money in
* Due to him being busy during the day at night he either spends time at your house doing absolutely nothing or facetiming you especially during away games to converse about your guys day
* Since he spends the day practising, he falls asleep mid convo sometimes whether on ft or in your sofa
* Sometimes you slap him awake or let him he depends on your mood
* He DOESN’T shut up about you to his friends they low-key feel like they are dating you with the details he goes into
* In summary even though he is very busy he tries to spend his free time with you
* A 7/10 bf
Tumblr media
* You went to Shin’s school and hanged with him due to your long-term friendship with Takao
* You along with Takao just made fun of Shin however unlike Takao you didn’t let Shin boss you around
* He also only kept you around because you were either a Pisces or a Scorpio (to all the readers that are neither I am sorry, but these are the signs he is compatible with, and I am also a Pisces)
* Regardless of your sign though you guys are still friends
* He always admired you for your confidence, humour and basically all your traits
* You guys were also study buddies where you both helped each other
* You cling to him a lot which he shows annoyance for but in reality he is all gooey for you
* I guess overtime as you guys spent more time together without Takao your feelings blossomed
* A big factor being whenever he lost a game you always supported him
* He trusts you enough to teach you his 3 pointers but also try that trick he has with Takao
* Anyways one day after your study session Shin offered to walk you home since it was already getting dark
As you guys stopped by a bridge in a park near your house to see the sun set (golden hour☀️)
After 5 mins you turned to look at Shin only to find him already staring at you
Your cheeks warmed up due to his intense gaze and a foreign emotion his eyes displayed
You were going to say something about going home when he suddenly kissed you (about ooc but he couldn’t help himself)
It’s a brief kiss yet you could clearly feel how soft his lips were ,but as suddenly as he went to kiss you as suddenly, he pulled back. His cheeks were a rosy colour and he looked like he was holding himself back
* Once again as you were going speak to ask about the kiss Shin interrupted you saying briskly you guys should keep going
* To say those 5 minutes weren’t uncomfortable would be a lie
* You wanted to bring up the kiss but didn’t know how to
* Next thing you knew you both were in front of your house
* Once you guys made eye contact for the first time since the kiss Shin looked ready to say something however a ‘bye y/n’ was all you got
* The kiss wasn’t talked about for 5 days
* The tension between you both was visible to all your friends even Takao constantly asked what had happened but both of you kept a tight lid on it
* You finally decided to confront him on the Friday at the end of school
* Most nerve-racking thing ever since when you called him saying you needed to speak, he didn’t look pleased
* Anyways with your big girl trousers on you said to tell him what was on your mind. Venting to him how it’s unfair that he kissed you and ignored it. He didn’t really say anything for a good minute just looking unbothered. With that you let out an exasperated sign saying, ‘fine be like that I’ll just go’ and turned away ready to walk off. Though he stopped you by lightly grabbing your arm and saying 'y/n I am sorry'. With you back still turned on him you heard as he explained how he has liked you for a while and when he kissed you it was a spur of the moment and he thought you wouldn’t like him back. With that being said you turned back around to face him and then said ‘who told you I didn’t have feelings for you idiot’. Then you hugged him, as you hugged him back, he whispered to you ‘then would like to be my gf?’ (awww)
* Now you are dating yayy
* When Takao found out he was heartbroken because one Shin got a gf before him and second anytime you 3 hangout, he will be constantly third wheeling 🥲 but he was still happy for you both
* The rest of his friends were actually really surprised he got a gf since he is known for his resting bitch face
* Still even with his flaws Shin truly likes you
* I mean he isn’t the one to be saying his feeling outwardly, but he displays them
* One being how he likes spending time with you sometimes you guys don’t even do anything
* Another thing being buying things for your e.g. your daily lucky item
* Matching rings because why not
* Your parents approve of him since he is a good influence you know him being a grade A student and an athlete (a whole sporty nerd)
* Also, another one who is allowed to help you do your hair
* Pda kept to a minimal of hands touching that’s about it but in private that’s a different story
* Always hugging you in some form
* He loves how you run your fingers through his hair
* Allows you to tape up his fingers
* On contrary to belief, he actually isn’t a dry texter for you (idk y but I visually him sending cat memes)
* Watching and reading manga together so if you skip ahead without him, it’s a problem
Overall, even though to outsiders he might seem too indifferent to you he shows his real self
Tumblr media
* You guys are childhood friends due to you being the daughter of the Akashi’s and kind of Sei’s caregiver
* You grew up together and were bestfriends
* You spent a lot of time with Akashi after school where he basically taught some extra stuff that he learned in cram school
* His father most definitely didn’t approve of the friendship, but he let it be since you were kids
* You guys went different schools and had different lives, yet you were the closest of friends
* You had a smidge of a crush on him but never really said anything
* When you were both 13 you were each other first kiss just to test
* With that incident not much actually changed between the two of you
* However, your friendship and how much you guys hang out dwindled since his father was pressuring him more and more
* During the events where his second personality appeared he actually completely ignored you and you guys didn’t speak for a whole 2-3 years
* However, once he was back to the Akashi of your childhood, he reached out to you explained and apologised for everything
* You clearly understood and didn’t hold it against him
* He didn’t want to be just friends but more, so he asked you out
* So, at the age of 17 you and Akashi Seijuro started dating
* You guys kept it secret because of his father so only yours and his close friends new
* It’s all good and bliss for 8 months until after a month of Akashi’s 18 birthday his dad found out and was forcing Akashi to break up with you
* However, Akashi wasn’t having it and threatened his dad saying he would disown himself and not take the company if tried to prevent you guys’ relationship again
* He begrudgingly stopped but was very much against your relationship
* When your mum found out you guys were dating, she was heartbroken you didn’t say it before, but she was very much happy for you both claiming that you both were ‘meant to be’
* Akashi is an attentive boyfriend
* He notices everything about you even the small things
* For example, your period is coming around he already knows and is preparing for it he has your favourites on standby and clearing his timetable to spend those days with you
* Always and I mean always pay for anything when you guys go out
* Even if you trick him into paying, he’ll transfer the money and extra to you (loves spoiling his empress)
* If you guys are out and your eyes linger on something for more than 10 seconds, it’s bought
* For your 2-year anniversary when you were 19, he bought you a silver with real diamond promise ring
* Matching bracelets
* He is slightly possessive (especially his second personality) bought you a necklace and anklet with his initials or name
* You guys have had arguments about him spending a lot of money on you, but he just gives you puppy eyes and says it because he loves you
* Akashi isn’t clingy but when you guys are out, he is always holding your hand, you are sitting in his lap or just some type of physical contact
* Tries to spend as much time together as possible so when you both need to study it’s together
* Even though compared to his friends basketball is a side hustle for him you still cheer for all his games
* You actually trust him to help you do your hair, so he is part of the wash day routine
* If your braid yourself, he helps with the ends and does it really well
* And once you guys move in together cooking together and overall domestic shit is the norm
Probably the most loving boyfriend
Tumblr media
* Ahhh our 2m long sweet boi😍
* He is actually soo tall it’s a bit scary but anyways
* You guys met because you worked at your parents’ convenience store that sold American candy
* He was a regular mass buyer
* I mean once a week he bought 50$ worth of candy
* You thought he was rich but it’s just Akashi encouraging his sweet tooth
* So due to him appearing a lot you guys’ kind of just bonded and you guys became somewhat close friends
* You even started giving him some recommendations
* You guys exchanged numbers and slowly you started catching feelings for him
* He liked you a lot mostly because you seemed to be the provider of his addiction
* Though he didn’t really know he liked like you or more so ignored that fact
* So, when you confessed by offering him a box full of your favourite sweets, he was slightly dumbfounded
* You were staring at him expecting any type of acknowledgement all you got was ‘What y/n? ‘😐
* You being heartbroken, took your words back, offered him the box and left
* You didn’t speak to him for two weeks which left him quite confused
* Akashi saw that he was clearly down and asked him what was wrong
* He explained everything that happened two weeks ago, and Akashi made him understand what actually happened, after 30 minutes of not understanding he got it and then quickly texted you asking to meet up
* You are a bit reluctant to meet him, but you still went
* Tbh you were a bit dumbfounded when you saw in exactly same state you were last week, holding box of sweets looking distraught
* You didn’t want to prolong the process, so you just straight up asked him what he wanted
* He apologised for what happened last week, saying he didn’t understand what you meant and that only after he spoke to Akashi did, he understand
* He said he would really like it if you guys were speaking once again since he missed you and felt the same
* You didn’t really process what he said at the end so you were ready to say you guys should distance from each other for a while
* However once you actually realised what was said *cue mouth opening and closing*
* To be real you weren’t expecting that from him
* I mean all he cares about is bastketball and sweets
* Regardless you quickly said yes
* Now you both are happily dating
* Your parents were actually pretty excited to meet the boy that finishes their stock
* They were indifferent to him due to his nonchalant personality but otherwise okay with it
* Your brother loves playing basketball to him especially 1 on1 which he keeps losing at
* Muri’s nonchalantness is a double-edged sword (I shortened his name to muri because who has the patience to write his full name)
* You are mostly okay with it but in certain situations it’s annoying
* Like sometimes you don’t even know whether he genuinely likes you or just settles for you
* Which isn’t the case since he fully adores you
* For his love language he doesn’t really fit into a specific category, but gift giving is his one
* Especially the fact he is willing to share his food with you including sweets
* A bit ooc but always offers you whatever he is eating
* Another thing is probably quality time or in other words nap times together
* Like even if you aren’t falling asleep, he wants you near him
* Especially him laying down and you on top of him
* Wants to be little spoon but he is massive so not a daily occurrence
* Always ties his hair up around you because he knows you find it attractive
* Allows you to do his hair
* You guys are the duo of the tall, introverted bf and extroverted gf
* Your dates are always food dates whether it’s going to a van or a new restaurant
* You definitely gained that happy relationship weight
* Akashi actually spoke to you in the beginning of your relationship saying patience is something very much needed with Muri
* Something you don’t have so petty arguments do ensue due to his unbotheredness
But the relationship is just overall much love

Mitobe x Reader
Title: Crushes Fluff Warning: Just so wholesome, and cute and fluffier than a fat bunny!
Whenever you passed by Mitobe, he would stop and watch you. His face would burn a bright red, which would cause Kogenai to nudge him. Kogenai knew his friend like the back of his hand, and always tried to encourage him to talk to you. Mitobe would only shake his head frantically, but always drift his eyes over to you.
Now was no exception, you were at one of their basketball games. He didn't notice until they had a timeout, and Kogenai had nudged him. He met your eyes and you flashed him a bright smile waving at him. He gave a shy wave before focusing on the meeting though he couldn't focus anymore.
"Is Mitobe okay?" Riko asked, and Kogenai nodded.
"Yeah, his crush is here..."
"His crush? Mitobe likes someone?" Izuki asked surprised. He looked at Mitobe before following his gaze to the girl in the stands, you.
"Oh, he likes (L/N)~san?"
"Yep, he has for awhile now."
"Mitobe likes my older sister?" Kuroko asked blinking and everyone quickly turned their head to him.
"Wait, she is your sister?"
"Yeah, we have different dad's though. Her mom left her dad and married mine."
"Oh, well maybe Kuroko can help you. But first we need to focus on the game, so show off for her!" Riko told Mitobe who nodded his head. He was shifting but when he looked at you, you were talking to your friend.
Once the game ended, and you cheering whenever someone cheered. You cheered harder when they won their game and you smiled widely. Your eyes met Kuroko's and he motioned you down and you tilted your head slightly.
"Kuroko what are you doing?" Kagami asked wiping his sweat off of his brow.
"Getting my sister, Riko wants me to tell her to come down."
You nodded your head and turned to your friend who was packing her stuff to leave.
"My brother wants me, text me when you get home okay?"
"Alright, bye!"
You nodded and went down to the court but not before being stopped by Akashi who gave you a hug. You gave him a hug back before flashing him a smile.
"It's good to see you again (L/N) senpai."
"It's good to see you too, hopefully after basketball ends you guys can all come over!" You said and Akashi nodded his head.
"If Kuroko would be okay with that, I am sure the other's wouldn't."
"Onee-chan, can you please come here?" Kuroko asked walking over to you, before he looked at Akashi and nodded his head.
"The brother is calling, it was good seeing you Kashi~" you called him by his nickname you gave him. He smiled and nodded and you made your way to your brother.
"What is it puppy?" You asked, and everyone snickered at the nickname. He ignored their laughing and was about to say something before you were being picked up by an unknown force.
"(Y/N)chin~ do you have snacks?"
Scratch that, you knew of the unknown force. Murasakibara.
"Aren't you about to play? Shouldn't you guys be getting off of the court?" You directed your attention to your brother and they nodded.
"We are, can I have my sister back?"
"Hmm no, she is mine..."
"Wait wha~"
"That makes no sense, she is my sister.." Kuroko said and everyone was sweat dropping. Murasakibara and Kuroko both had a stare down, and you looked around in hopes of getting some help. That was when your eyes met Mitobe's eyes and he blushed and you mouthed 'help' to him. He looked around before at you before nodding.
"Mine."
"No, she is mine."
"Mine."
"Impossible, she is my sister."
"She is mi~hey..." Mitobe grabbed you gently from Murasakibara and set you down.
"Thank you, for your help," you said. Mitobe nodded his head and looked down, before backing away from you. Unfortunately, Kogenai pushed Mitobe back towards you. He stumbled a bit, and you blinked as he caught himself.
"Are you okay?" He nodded his head slightly, moving his hands around. He was nervous and you could tell just by his posture.
"Okay guys, we gotta go," Riko said leading them off of the court.
"(Y/N)chin, bring me snacks."
"No, you don't need it." The coach of his team said and he puffed his cheeks out. You laughed softly, and fell in step with the other team.
"Anyway, Kuroko why did you want me to come down?" Kuroko blinked and pointed to Mitobe, whose eyes widen. You glanced at Mitobe and he was waving his hands in front of him, panicking.
"He wanted to get closer to you, so Riko said I could help him."
"Ehh?"
"Kuroko has no filter, shouldn't be surprised though," Furihata said, laughing softly. You turned to Mitobe and he refused to meet your eyes. So you tilted your head under his so he could meet your eyes.
"You wanted to get closer to me? You could have just asked? I never turn down a friend..." Mitobe turned his head away.
"I think he likes you romantically," Kuroko said. Mitobe's head snapped towards Kuroko who was now pushed into the locker room. Everyone went in but locked Mitobe out. He tried to get in, not wanting to continue any conversation.
You noticed he was super nervous and shy, so you placed your hand on his shoulder. He slowly turned to you, and you flashed him a kind smile.
"Mitobe, is that true?"
He slowly nodded his head, his cheeks warming up more. You stood on your tippy toes and pressed a small kiss to his cheek. You smiled slightly as you pulled away and he looked at you surprised. He pointed to your heart, before pointing to his and you nodded.
"Yeah, I like you too. A lot, honestly my brother isn't the only reason I go to these games," you looked away with a blush and he perked up with a smile, "You are too."
Mitobe cupped your cheeks and pressed his lips gently to yours and you sighed softly against his lips with a smile. You hugged his neck, returning the kiss before the door opened. You both jumped back and the basketball team was smirking. You both blushed but he took a hold of your hand and you smiled.
"So are you two dating?" Kiyoshi asked and Mitobe looked at you and you smiled nodding your head.
"Yeah, we are."
Mitobe pulled you to his side with a shy smile unable to stop hugging you.

Nijimura Audio Drama Translation
youtube
Nijimura: Oi! If you have nothing to do, then go make rounds outside!
Members: Understood!
Akashi: Nijimura-san, about the groupings of the next game–
Nijimura: Oi Akashi.
Akashi: Yes?
Nijimura: What’s up with Haizaki?
Akashi: Oh, I didn’t see him since the morning today.
Nijimura: Oh yeah? I haven’t seen him since yesterday.
Akashi: Oh.
Nijimura: That’s weird. I didn’t see him the day before yesterday either. Can you please remind me what club he was a member of?
…..THAT BASTARD!! WHAT DOES HE THINKS HE’S DOING NOT SHOWING FOR CLUB ACTIVITIES FOR THREE DAYS!? HUUHH???
Hey! Has anyone seen Haizaki in school grounds today?
Kuroko: Um, we’ve passed each other in the corridors during lunch break.
Nijimura: I see, so he came to school huh? But he’s just slacking off of club activities. Haizaki….. Today, I’m definitely NOT going to show you mercy!
Kuroko: Haizaki kun. I wonder why he won’t come to club activities.
Akashi: Who knows. But even still, he’s a member of the first string. If his unauthorized absence continues, it’s going to leave an effect on the whole team’s morale. I think it’s about time for me to warn him directly about this.
Nijimura: Oi Akashi! Kuroko! Do you guys have any idea about places Haizaki is likely to go to?
Akashi: Kuroko, can you think of something?
Kuroko: Oh yeah, I think I’ve seen him one time at a game center after practice before. I don’t know if he’s there today too though.
Nijimura: Ho, a game center huh.
[At the Game Center]
Haizaki: Right… Right… Right… Yes!!  And just a little bit farther… Oh, it’s looking good! OH YES I CAUGHT IT!! COME TO ME, COME TO ME!
…Huh? Why the hell did you fall off at that place, I had you grabbed so good! What the fuck! They’re definitely making it loose on purpose!!
*starts to kick the crane machine*
Nijimura: Oi, oi. Don’t put the blame on the machine just because you suck, shithead.
Haizaki: Ha? Don’t you talk down on me. Come here and say that to my face!!
Nijimura: “Come here?” Since I’m in this place because I have some business with you, it’s actually a perfect opportunity.
Haizaki: !!!!! ….Nijimura….san
Nijimura: It’s good to know you haven’t forgotten my face and my name. So is it alright to assume you already know what I came here to tell you?
Haizaki: W-who knows?
*starts walking away*
Nijimura: I took the trouble to come all the way here to see you and you’re already leaving? That makes me sad.
Haizaki: Ha? To see me?
Nijimura: Yeah! Even if I look like this, I’m the captain of the Teikou Basketball team after all.
Haizaki: Hah. Did you come here to sermon me or something. You guys can still do club activities without me there right? Just leave me alone.
Nijimura: Pfft… Hahaha! That line of yours is too transparent.
Haizaki: What?
Nijimura: You slack off non-stop from club activities to get attention to yourself right? Aw, it’s alright, I won’t leave you alone. You sure are a “kamatte-chan”.
Haizaki: Don’t fuck with me!!
*attempts to punch Nijimura*
Nijimura: Oh? That was a better punch than I expected.
…..However, that won’t work on me.
[Probably in the Lunch Hall]
Haizaki: Ugh.. Ouch…
Akashi: This seat.. Isn’t taken, correct?
Haizaki: Ha? ……Akashi. It IS taken.
Akashi: I see.
*sits down*
Haizaki: I said the seat is taken! ……Damn it
Akashi: What happened with those injuries on your face?
Haizaki: So noisy, it has got nothing to do with you.
Akashi: Were you at the game center yesterday?
Haizaki: Tsk.
Akashi: I see. Then this will make things faster. Club activities for today will involve a practice match of first years vs second years. Please make sure to attend.
Haizaki: Ha? Don’t order me around. Who the hell do you think you are?
Akashi: I am simply fulfilling my duties as the vice captain.
Haizaki: Aaaaahhhh yes sir, is that so Mr. Vice Captain sir, thank you very much for taking the trouble!
Akashi: …….. Haizaki. What is the reason behind you not attending practices?
Haizaki: Reason…? I don’t have one. I just felt like it.
Akashi: If you have no plans on even attending the club, then you could always just quit, couldn’t you? Your slacking off has come to a point that it leaves a bad influence on the team.
Haizaki: Stop putting the blame on me.
Akashi: I heard that you started a quarrel with people from a different school the other day as well when you were wandering about. Learn to be more prudent before the problem gets out of hand.
Haizaki: I SAID. STOP ORDERING ME AROUND!!
Akashi: Haizaki! What will you do about club today?
Haizaki: Heh. I was actually thinking about showing my face a little bit but I changed my mind. All thanks to you.
Akashi: …………..
[After club activities]
Nijimura: Hai…za…ki!
Akashi: The cleaning and locking of the gymnasium is finished.
Nijimura: Ou. Thanks for your hardwork.
Akashi: Nijimura san, if it’s paperwork, please let me do it.
Nijimura: Huh? Oh, okay. Then, I’ll leave the continuation to you.
Akashi: …..So in the end, he didn’t show up did he? Haizaki, I mean.
Nijimura: Breaking his promise with me, that bastard. I should’ve punched him two or three more times!!
*Akashi laughs*
Nijimura: Well, that only means we have to do something about him again but anyway, how was the first year vs. second year match today?
Akashi: Yes… For the team with only the firs years, I think that the balance of fighting power among the members is close to being at the tipping point/danger zone. Moreover, with Kuroko’s participation, we are now able to create a change in the flow of the game. However at this point in time, we are not able to take full advantage of this change.
Nijimura: Yeah, since there are no players with a style like Kuroko’s… So it means that the ones playing with him must develop a technique themselves to go along with it.
Akashi: While we’re at this point, Aomine on the other hand, is able to go all out with his own playing style thanks to Kuroko’s invisible passes. In today’s match, his speed greatly improved.
Nijimura: He always practiced with Kuroko even before he came to the first string right? Either they’re in tune with one another or he’s just excited. It’s just like the straightforward idiot he is, isn’t it?
Akashi: On the other hand, Murasakibara is harboring annoyance.
Nijimura: Huh?
Akashi: Endurance, experience… It seems he feels a lack in Kuroko who is yet to catch up with the first strings regarding those matters.
Nijimura: Hm.
Akashi: Because of this, the snacks are disappearing at a rate that is 1.5x faster than before.
Nijimura: Stress-eating!? Really… His body is so huge but he’s really just a brat. He should be a little bit more stoic like Midorima– well, that’s not gonna happen.
Akashi: Since Midorima and Murasakibara’s personalities are quite polar opposites aren’t they?
Nijimura: Well, Midorima being Midorima is too absorbed in his own thing that he lacks awareness of his surroundings too.
….and he seems to be always holding weird things???
Akashi: They’re Oha Asa lucky items.
Nijimura: *Sighs* Really…. you guys are all so troublesome.
[Kuroko texting]
Kuroko: Hmm I wonder if this is too long for a message… Alright, this is about it. Pressing send…
*phone rings*
Kuroko: This is a ringtone right? Hello?
[ Ogiwara: Kuroko! ]
Kuroko: Ogiwara kun! Hajimemashite!
[ Ogiwara: What??? ]
Kuroko: Ahh, sorry. I mean, in a talking-on-the-phone kind of way.
[ Ogiwara: Oh I see. If you say it that way, it gets kind of embarrassing. ]
Kuroko: The call came all of a sudden so I kind of panicked.  ]
[ Ogiwara: Haha, sorry. It’s because just when I was trying to send an e-mail, your message to me arrived so… I got so happy I called you without thinking. ]
Kuroko: Did you receive my message?
[ Ogiwara: Yup! I received it. ]
Kuroko: That’s great to hear. Since we used written letters until now, I’m still not used to this.
[ Ogiwara: I’ll be your practice buddy so keep on sending me messages and calls, alright? ]
Kuroko: Okay!
[ Ogiwara: So, how have you been recently? Since going up the Teikou’s first string! ]
Kuroko: I feel like I’ll vomit. Actually, I do vomit.
[ Ogiwara: EH!? ]
Kuroko: The practices are so many times harder than the third string’s and it takes all of my ability just to finish them. Just remembering makes me go…. ugh—
[ Ogiwara: Oi oi oi are you alright? ]
Kuroko: Yes
[ Ogiwara: You get a feeling like… “that’s Teikou Middle School for you” right? No wonder they’re so strong. ]
Kuroko: Everyone accomplishes those kinds of practices as if it’s just everyday routine and it’s really amazing.
[ Ogiwara: But Kuroko, even before you were still in the third string, you did your best more than anyone to the point of doing independent practices, right? So you’ll definitely catch up to them one day! ]
Kuroko: Aomine kun told me the same thing before. You two definitely are similar in some ways.
[ Ogiwara: Aomine? Oooohh that friend you told me about before who’s really awesome at basketball? ]
Kuroko: Yes! Even in among the first string, his abilities are far superior. But during times I’m feeling down, he’s someone who will casually just keep his pace to match mine.
[ Ogiwara: I see. It’s nice to hear you have a friend who you can count on. ]
Kuroko: Oh yeah, he bought me ice cream on the way home from practice before.
[ Ogiwara: Ice cream???? Even though it’s this cold?? ]
Kuroko: That day, I was so exhausted and down because I really couldn’t keep up with the day’s practice so he went “well, just eat it out”
[ Ogiwara: Oh, I see! ]
Kuroko: I thought that it was to resupply sugar into my system and to cool me down…
[ Ogiwara: Hmmmmm, somehow, I feel like he didn’t really think about stuff like that? ]
Kuroko: When you put it that way… I really did start to think it may be the case.
[ Ogiwara: Hahaha! But he really is a good guy isn’t he, that Aomine. Well that means at least, that you are able to be a first string member without being brought down no matter how hard the practices are. ]
Kuroko: Yes! How is going on your end, Ogiwara kun?
[ Ogiwara: Oh! Well for me, even if it’s just little by little, they’re starting to include me in the starters. ]
Kuroko: Starters? That’s amazing!
[ Ogiwara: Even so, it’s because there are a lot of practice matches where the opponent also uses first years. ]
Kuroko: Even still, I think it’s amazing that you’re selected among the many first year members.
[ Ogiwara: I’m happy just being able to go out and play in the match but when the cooperative moves we’ve experimented on during practices actually work in the match itself, it really is the best feeling. It’s as if you were able to prove the greatness of teamwork. ]
Kuroko: Teamwork…
[ Ogiwara: Hmm? Is there something wrong? ]
Kuroko: Actually, there’s someone in the first string who doesn’t really come to practice often. He’s also a first year, you see.
[ Ogiwara: Ahh, so there really are people who find the practices too hard and back out of frustration? ]
Kuroko: Oh no, actually he’s a player that’s good enough to be chosen as a regular. But then for some reason, he just keeps slacking off of club activities.
[ Ogiwara: What’s up with that? Did he have a fight with a teammate or something? Or like his parents got mad at him because his grades went down because of too much balling? Did you try to hear his reasoning? ]
Kuroko: Well, I’ve never asked him directly myself but it seems that all he does is play around after school when he slacks off of practice so I really don’t think that’s it.
[ Ogiwara: Then… It really is just purely slacking off? Hmmm… No matter how good he was that he was able to be a freshman first string member in Teikou, if he keeps slacking off, won’t he be left behind by others? Does it mean he doesn’t care about that? ]
Kuroko: I think it isn’t like that but…
[ Ogiwara: Hmm but even while slacking off, he doesn’t quit the club. So that doesn’t mean that he has come to hate basketball either, right? Hmmmm… I don’t really know but if he likes basketball, he’ll probably come back. ]
Kuroko: If he likes baskeball….. I guess you’re right.
[Haizaki in stealth mode after school]
Haizaki: *Sigh* it seems I was able to go undetected but if someone from the basketball club sees me, I’ll be 100% scolded. I’m having none of that today!
Voice: Heeeeh. Who’s going to scold you, you said?
Haizaki: That hot-headed captain.
Voice: What are you having none of, you said?
Haizaki: Getting beat up, of cours— ahhh!!
Nijimura: You never learn do you?
Haizaki: Ni, Niji—
Nijimura: Oh hey there, I’m Nijimura san, that hot-headed captain! I was contemplating on how you didn’t keep our promise yesterday so I went out of my way to wait for you right here! If I remember correctly, we were supposed to have already met at the gymnasium yesterday, right? HAIZAKI? *cracks knuckles*
Haizaki: You bastard…
Nijimura: Who did you call a bastard?
Haizaki: Eh!?
Nijimura: Thanks for making a fool out of me. Come to the practice this instant!
Haizaki: Shut up! Always picking on me like a target!! Let me say this to you today as well!!
Nijimura: Oh, do tell!!
Haizaki: THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARDWORK CAPTAIN NIJIMURA, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST ON THE PRACTICE OKAAAAYY!?!?!?!?!?!
*bolts*
Nijimura: You— don’t screw around with me!!!!!!!
*chases*
Nijimura: Don’t you run away from me Haizaki!!!!!
Haizaki: You’re so persistent!!! It’s because you keep chasing me!!!!!
Nijimura: Don’t try to reason out with me!!!!
Haizaki: UOOOHHHHHHHHH
*Haizaki trips and falls*
Nijimura: Haizaki!!! Oi, are you alright? You didn’t sprain your arm or your leg?
Haizaki: You… Just the day before yesterday you beat me up and now you say these things!?
Nijimura: Isn’t it obvious I didn’t go all out on you at that time? Don’t put it on the same thing as you just simply tripping and falling.
Haizaki: You held back on me?!
Nijimura: Oh? Those are nice eyes.
Haizaki: Just as you said, don’t make a fool out of people! I’m gonna beat you up!!
Nijimura: Well isn’t that perfect, come at me!!
*Haizaki and Nijimura go at each other and Haizaki is beat up*
Nijimura: Well, you fight good but you’re still a hundred years too early to be my serious opponent.
Haizaki: Damn it…
Nijimura: Haizaki, don’t run away anymore.
Haizaki: I’m not running from anything—
Nijimura: Not about fighting you idiot. Hey, Haizaki. Why don’t you try to face basketball honestly for once?
Haizaki:
Nijimura: ………….Ah? He passed out. *Sigh* so troublesome, geez!!
[Teikou gymnasium]
Nijimura: Ossu!!
Akashi: Nijimura san?
*Haizaki groaning in the background*
Akashi: ……? Nijimura san, could that be….
Nijimura: Yup! Hey, where are your greetings?
Haizaki: ‘Sup…..
Kuroko: (His face…. is nothing like how it originally looked like)
Nijimura: You know this guy gets really energetic and runs around all excited when he sees my face so I also did my best to bring him here!
Akashi: But….. In his state now….
Nijimura: Oh pish posh, right Haizaki? You’re super excited to be able to join practice after all this time right?
Haizaki: Yeeess……
Nijimura: Yup, that’s a nice response! Well anyway, why don’t you go join that mini game over there! Off you go!
Haizaki: OWW!!
Nijimura: Haizaki!! That was your return wasn’t it!
Haizaki: Ahh damn! Give it to me!!
*shoots ball*
Haizaki: Yeah that’s how it goes!
Nijimura: Don’t go putting on a smug face just because you made one shot! If you have time for that then get back as soon as you can!!
Haizaki: Yes, sir!!
Kuroko: Haizaki kun….. He really is good.
Akashi: That’s what you think?
Kuroko: Eh?
Akashi: He indeed has abilities that is superior than the norm, however, the ball is not going to him in a way it can be most put into effect. It’s undeniable that there’s a lack of cooperation.
Kuroko: That means that indeed, there’s a fundamental lack of practice, right? However rather than Haizaki kun, it looks like it’s the other players who are feeling uncertain about Haizaki kun’s play style.
Akashi: So you did see through it, Kuroko. It means that Haizaki slacking’s off has begun to show its effects.
Kuroko: So it’s good that the captain was able to drag him here even while he used excessive measures, isn’t it?
……Akashi kun?
Akashi: Don’t you think…. Nijimura san is a little too hung-up on Haizaki?
Kuroko: Hung-up?
Akashi: Nijimura san has an eye for people. He has from the beginning a rather correct evaluation about me, and he knew about how you worked harder than anyone else in secret. But… He’s different towards Haizaki. Even while knowing that there’s a high probability of him leaving negative effects on the team, he’s made it so that cutting him loose won’t be an option from the very beginning.
Is there any good in letting the Haizaki the way he is now, stay on the team even to the point of resorting to violence?
Kuroko: Akashi kun…
*Nijimura humming*
Akashi: I’ve locked the doors to the gymnasium. I’ve gone and returned the keys to the faculty room.
Nijimura: Oh! Thanks!
Akashi: Nijimura san…. I told you, I’ll do the paperworks.
Nijimura: Oh? Well, I’m feeling rather good today because we were able to practice with the complete set of first string members after a long time so…. since I’m almost done, you can go ahead of me if you want.
Akashi: ….
Nijimura: What’s wrong? You’re not going home?
Akashi: I have something I wanted to ask Nijimura san. Is it alright?
Nijimura: I don’t mind.
Akashi: It’s about Haizaki.
[ Ogiwara: Oh yeah, about that guy you said who always slacked off of practice… ]
Kuroko: You mean Haizaki kun?
[ Ogiwara: Did he come to club today? ]
Kuroko: Well, yes, in a way.
[ Ogiwara: “In a way”? What’s that supposed to mean. ]
Kuroko: Captain went and beat Haizaki kun up and dragged him back when he was about to go home and slack off again.
[ Ogiwara: “Beat up”!? You mean with fists? ]
Kuroko: His face looked so horrible. To think Nijimura san was that strong…
[Ogiwara: Nijimura? Eh, Nijimura…. You mean that blond haired Nijimura san? ]
Kuroko: Eh? Captain isn’t blond.
[ Ogiwara: Hmm could it be a different person? But then the last name “Nijimura” is rather rare… So that just means it just isn’t at the present? ]
Kuroko: Ogiwara kun… You know our captain?
[ Ogiwara: Well, during elementary school, I actually watched a Teikou match once. When I did, there was this person who was a starter while being a freshman and he was so incredibly strong. That person was called “Nijimura”. ]
Kuroko: He was blond that time?
[ Ogiwara: Yeah yeah. Honestly though, his attitude during the matches weren’t really the best… Like he’s arrogant just because he’s good? He lashed out even when the people he’s talking to are his seniors…  ]
Kuroko: Nijimura san… Arrogant?
[ Ogiwara: So he’s the captain huh. It’s rather unexpected! ]
Kuroko: Well for me though, the story you told me now is the one that’s unexpected.
[ Ogiwara: Really? ]
Kuroko: Yes. Nijimura san is someone who can boast great faith from the coach and he listens to our opinions even if we are his juniors. Even to Haizaki kun.. Well, the means are quite, you know… But he tries his best to bring him to practice… It’s a very different image than what Ogiwara kun knows. Besides, he has black hair now.
[ Ogiwara: Hooooh. Then maybe… Some things might have also happened with Nijimura san since that time. ]
Akashi: What did Nijimura san think about Haizaki in the practice today?
Nijimura: Well, for someone who doesn’t go to practice, his movements weren’t dull. He isn’t on Aomine’s level, but his instinct and skills to bring the ball to the goal without any qualms haven’t changed.
Akashi: Hm
Nijimura: But that’s in the end, his individual ability. He missed numerous easier and more ideal chances to get the ball into the goal. There’s also that angle where you know the others hesitated to pass the ball to Haizaki but that guy doesn’t look at his surroundings to begin with. I guess his egocentricity did him a little good here.
Akashi: So you did notice.
Nijimura: It seems you are wanting to say something. Tell me. You don’t have to hold back.
Akashi: Haizaki’s bad conduct, isn’t just his own personal problem– it is beginning to leave quite a tangible effect on the team as a whole. Even if you tell them not to mind, distrust is something that grows stronger. After all, isn’t Haizaki’s reason for slacking off in the end just pure laziness? If he doesn’t respond to repeated warnings, then I think that the effort Nijimura san goes out of his way to put on him is just a waste.
Nijimura: Heh, you didn’t really hold back at all.
Akashi: In my opinion, I think that the faster we cut Haizaki off, the better it will be for the team.
Nijimura: Well, for the team, that may be the correct decision. But hey, can you give it a little more time?
Akashi: ….
Nijimura: To you who is capable and is able to walk in a straight line in life, someone who is aimless and who always postpones the answers might just seem “lazy”. But for me, his slacking off seems like an escape.
Akashi: Escape?
Nijimura: To never be ordered around, he’s walking around living selfishly but he’s probably just frightened to be bound to one place.
Akashi: I somehow sense some first-hand experience/feeling into what you said.
Nijimura: Hahaha, seriously you’re too sharp! Well, you can say that when I was in first year, I was also a bit sharp around some edges. When I look at Haizaki roaming aimlessly, I kind of remember myself and get embarrassed.
Akashi: So in other words, Nijimura san is projecting himself onto Haizaki? Therefore you think he’s going to change like you one day?
Nijimura: You really say it so bluntly. Well yeah, that’s probably it. Haizaki’s reason for joining the basketball team could probably just be because he’s just better at it than others. But then, why do you think he doesn’t quit if he just keeps slacking off?
Akashi: ….
Nijimura: Well, let’s go home. But you know I’m kind of hungry so maybe I’ll buy some meat bun from the convenience store? Do you want to come along, Akashi?
Akashi: Isn’t it already time for dinner by the time we arrive home?
Nijimura: Oi oi Obocchan. Don’t tell me you’ve never just went out and bought food to eat? There is a different room for these foods in the stomach apart from the one for dinner! It’s delicious because you eat it while going home.
Alright! I’m going to initiate you into the art of buying these foods so let’s get going!
Akashi: Nijimura san! I’m not exactly hungry…
Nijimura: This is my treat, don’t be shy!
Nijimura: Kuroko! Your right leg wasn’t raised enough in your take-off!
Kuroko: I apologize!
Haizaki: Hey, lameass.
Kuroko: Haizaki ku–
Haizaki: Give it to me.
Akashi: !? Haizaki
Nijimura: You’re late, Haizaki! Hurry up and go get changed!
Haizaki: *Sigh*
Nijimura: Answer!
Haizaki: Yes sir!
Akashi: Did you do something, Nijimura san? To think Haizaki will come to practice on his own…
Nijimura: Who knows? Maybe he’s learned his lesson after being beaten up too many times?
Akashi: I don’t see the merit on both sides in using force on Haizaki to practice –
Nijimura: I will force him, Akashi. As long as he’s in the basketball club.
Akashi: ….Why?
Nijimura: Because… I’m the Captain of Teikou. However, it’s up to him from now on if he will change or not.
Akashi: Is that Nijimura san’s way…?
Nijimura: Yes it is. But don’t worry. I won’t tell you to do the same thing as me.
Akashi: ….
Nijimura: Well, I’m not gonna tell you to copy this *cracks fist*
Today, I’m gonna have you pay the debt for all the times you’ve slacked off until now!! Prepare yourself, Haizaki!!!!!

What Hurricane Will Write For
Hey hey! I was recently looking through this writing blog and I realized that I haven’t really branched out much lmao. So, I’ve decided to compile a list of all the fandoms that I will write for. Hope you guys see something here that you like and happy requesting to you all! Hopefully I can add more as I explore different games, shows, etc. :)
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Obey Me: Shall We Date
Twisted Wonderland
Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice
Haikyuu
Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba
My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia
Genshin Impact
Ikemen Sengoku
Ikemen Vampire
Ikemen Revolution
Arcana
Kuroko no Basuke/Kuroko’s Basketball
Tears of Themis
Valorant
Luxiem*
Noctyx**
When requesting
What I will do:
Fluff
Angst
Some suggestive topics (ie. Making out, etc. However, please ask first before sending in the request! If its too NSFW, I have the right to refuse)
Crack
Character x Reader
polyamory
gore(not too extreme)
What I will not do:
Character x OC; Unless you are a mutual of mine, I don’t do Character x OC stuff, 1. because I don’t know your OC that well, 2. I’d prefer if it was kept between mutuals only, and 3. I don’t wanna butcher your character
Character x Character; obviously no hate towards any ships or you as the requester! This is just a personal preference of mine :)
NSFW, I am a minor and I am not comfortable writing things like that, maybe in the future but not now
Anything involving pedophilia. I refuse to write anything romantically with a character perceived as a child (ex. Luke from Obey Me). However if it's platonic//familial/in a friendly sense, then I will be more than happy to write for it
Incest, that is a big no go, and it's morally wrong. Please do not question it.
Extreme fetishes. You heard me, if you got some weird ass fetish please leave, you’ll be blocked and no amount of excuses can change that.
If you're confused or have any questions please ask! I won't bite :))
The requesting rules still apply! But anyways if you guys are curious to know about what other fandoms I might be in, don’t hesitate to ask, shoot me an ask!
~Admin Hurricane
*when I write for Luxiem and/or Noctyx, it’s going to be referring to the way they present themselves on screen and not the actual person themselves. I will also not be writing shipping fics between the Luxiem or Noctyx members, mainly due to what they said within their debut streams. But “x reader” is fine!

The PSP game is making me feel things now 😭Especially the Aomine feels.
There’s so much to unpack here, let’s start!
Momoi bought popsicles for the Seirin team after they practiced hard that day. Kuroko didn’t get to eat them because he went back as soon as the practice is over (sleeping)
Kagami fill in the details to Kuroko and talked about how good the popsicles are. Momoi then asked if Kuroko wants to eat popsicle because she will get them for him. He accepts.
Sulking Kagami (just kidding but he did got quiet). Momoi gave a chocolate popsicle to Kuroko in which Kuroko enjoys it a lot. Kagami’s “Momoi, where’s mine?” Momoi scolded him because he ate most of them (five!) last night. Kagami really wanted it. He kept staring at Kuroko.
Kuroko gave the popsicle stick to Kagami in which written “winner” on it. Kagami is so happy because he could get to eat one. Momoi asked Kuroko why he gave the stick to Kagami (she sounded so heartbroken ;-;) Kuroko said that Kagami looked like he would snatch the popsicle out from his hand because his face screamed off “I want to eat it!”
Momoi is sad because you know? The “winner” popsicle means something to her. Kuroko reassured her that he will treat her to one since she is kind to buy the popsicle for him. Momoi is happy again.
Kagami called Kuroko a considerate guy. Also, before the popsicle thing, Kagami asked if his favourite food are milkshakes and popsicles. He then told (scold) Kuroko to eat something more than that. Since that is surely not enough. “You will collapse in the middle of practice.” “I’ll work on that” Kagami is such a mother-hen.
This all happened in one morning.
Okay the next one is a tear-jerker. It’s such a sweet scene ;-;
Wakamatsu is mad that Aomine is not coming to practice. He then accused him of not loving basketball and harshly complained about what’s the use of him joining the training camp if he’s not gonna show up.
KUROKO DEFENDS AOMINE. He approached Wakamatsu and asked him if he really thinks of Aomine that way. He then proceeded to tell the Touou player that Aomine more than anyone, loves basketball. The gym gets tense as Wakamatsu grew more angry because “What the hell is this brat spouting about”.
“he wanted to become stronger, to keep improving, so he devoted himself to the sport… But the harder he worked, the farther he grew apart from everyone around him… I’m sure he still wants to become a better player, even now.” KUROKO.
He proceed to tell Wakamatsu that he can’t stand Aomine to be misunderstood like that. Especially from his own teammates.
“Given the right spark of motivation...he will change.” Wakamatsu asked him with a demanding voice on how he’s gonna do that. Kuroko hesitated.
KAGAMI CAME! And it seems like he is also defending Aomine.
“Kuroko, leave it at that.”
THERE’S SO MUCH THINGS HAPPENING HERE.
Kagami told Wakamatsu that he just don’t get it. The reason why Aomine didn’t come to practice is because there’s no one who can compete with him.
“That’s why we’re gonna defeat you guys and turn him into the basketball loving idiot he is!”
Imayoshi is here and told Kagami that there’s no one stronger than Aomine and that he’s never gonna go back to playing just for the love of the game.
Kagami called Imayoshi a sly fox.
Kuroko apologized and told Kagami that he can’t bear to see Aomine been misunderstood when they don’t know his whole story. He is also frustrated that he could’t do anything to change Aomine during their Inter High match.
Kuroko and Kagami have a tender moment. Kagami motivates Kuroko in telling him that they will defeat Aomine but in order to that, they need to practice as much as they can.
There’s so many other things happening in the game and these are one of them 😭

huehuehue what a cute request anon! This was fun to write!
Rakuzan Manager!Reader at Multi-Team Training Camp Headcanons
It was the first time everyone was getting together in a long time, and you were excited to get to hang out with the rest of the GOM
Each of the teams had their respective coaches who would handle their training, so you would be coordinating with the other managers on the other duties
Of course, you and Momoi were pretty much the only managers that the teams had
When you first discussed your plans with Momoi, for whatever reason she had begged you to let her take care of the cooking
You didn’t feel super strongly either way so you were fine with her taking that role
You were quickly alerted to the errors of your thinking the very next day when a barrage of texts hit your phone
“_____-san, I implore you to reconsider your decision of leaving the cooking at the training camp up to Momoi-san.”
“_____-cchi wants us all to DIE!!! ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚ I love Momoicchi but her cooking…we’ll all DIE!”
“Oi, _____! What kind of prank are you playing on us, having Satsuki be in charge of cooking?!?!?”
“Rarely do I lower myself to this level of pleading, but  _____. Even Oha Asa cannot save us from Momoi’s cooking.”
“_____-chin, I’ll crush you if you make me eat Momoi-chin’s cooking.”
“_____, it’s Kagami. I got your number from Kuroko. I’ve never had Momoi-san’s cooking, but I’ve had Riko-senpai’s and all I can say is….For the love of god, do not let that woman cook.”
“_____. Satsuki cannot be allowed to cook during the training camp. Even someone like Eikichi would rather starve than try her culinary…experiments.”
So it was again up to you to fix the issue, but every time you tried to talk to Momoi about it, she was so excited that you couldn’t break the news to her.
When everyone gathered for the training camp and you were all having your initial meeting, the sheer terror that was cast upon all the faces of the members present forced you to do the unbelievable
Tapping into your extremely poor acting skills to try and get everyone out of this predicament
“I can’t believe it!” You shout, startling everyone in the vicinity. “How could you…how could you do this?”
Throwing on the best villainous glare you could manage, you point at the boys with an accusatory finger. “I can’t believe that of all people…you would have Momoi-chan shoulder the entire burden of cooking for all of you! You’ll work her to death!”
“_____-chan, it’s fine-“
“No, how could I let this go in front of my eyes!” Forcing a sob past your lips, you throw your free hand around Momoi, tugging her dramatically into your chest. “It just pains me…to imagine my dear Momoi-chan, slaving over a hot stove for hours and hours…just to feed you ungrateful bastards!”
“Hey, what did you just-“ Kagami roared, but Kuroko quickly delivered a well-timed jab into his side.
PLAY. ALONG. YOU. MORON! You mouthed to Kagami, before quickly getting back into character.
“Momoi-chan, I’m so sorry. I put this undue burden on you because I simply did not understand!” Dropping your voice into a soft whisper, you grab Momoi’s hands and smile at her through watery eyes. “But do not fear. I will make sure that these heathens learn their lessons! I will protect you, with all that I am!”
Momoi’s eyes suddenly started sparkling, her mouth falling agape at your princely stance. “_____-chan….!”
“How could I let a single scrap befall your beautiful fingers?” Gently cradling Momoi’s hands, you place a light kiss on the back of her fingers. “Please, my princess. Allow me to take on this duty, as I cannot bear to see you overworked.” For the finishing touch, you press your lips to her forehead.
“_____-sama!” Momoi swoons, her cheeks flushed.
You were so caught up in your acting that it took you a second to notice that the crowd around you had gone very, very silent. Looking up, you noticed that several of the members were sporting light blushes on their cheeks, and-woah, did someone actually faint?
Thanks to your last minute and improvised scene, Momoi was mollified and you were designated as the cook instead during the training camp
You were relieved that it had all been settled, but then it hit you that all of a sudden, you had to cook for everyone
You thought your cooking was alright, but there were a lot of guys, a lot of tall, bulky, teenage guys who had black holes for stomachs
Your actions seemed like a gift from god to the basketball players that were there, and suddenly, all eyes were on you during the training camp
When you walked around refilling water bottles and switching out fresh towels, there was always at least one player who would appear at your side, rushing to assist you with your tasks
They didn’t even seem to care that you were technically from a different school, and you found it hard to turn them down because of how eager they were
Even calling you _____-sama, how embarrassing!
There were whispers among the players about how they wished you could also be their team’s manager
And of course, Rakuzan wasn’t taking this at all
“Um, did something happen?”
“We just wanted to eat with our lovely manager, _____-nee!” Hayama cheered, throwing an arm around your shoulder. “You’ve been working so hard for us, and your food is so good!”
“I’m glad you like it…” You reply, not used to having all the Rakuzan members sitting around you. Not that you had been eating alone, but most times Akashi would visit with the other members of the GOM, Nebuya would be fighting in some sort of eating competition with the other centers, and Mibuchi would flit around from table to table like a social butterfly.
So it was a bit of an adjustment to have all five of them surrounding you at the table.
“_____, if anyone tries to touch you, let me know.” Nebuya suddenly states, cracking his knuckles. “I’ve been aching for a good fight.”
“And you can’t brush anyone else’s hair except mine, ok?” Mibuchi huffs, grabbing your hands.
“_____. If anyone bothers you at all, for whatever reason, I will take care of it.” Akashi states calmly, and you swear you can hear something going snip, snip.
“…Thanks…?”
Following that event during dinner, you notice that you don’t get called out as much as before, which you feel better about since you weren’t sure how long you would be able to stand being called -sama
Another change was that whenever you were running errands, without fail, someone from Rakuzan would accompany you
Not that you’d need it because you were not a child and could take care of yourself, but it was hard to turn down Hayama’s puppy dog eyes, Mibuchi’s watery eyes, Mayuzumi just stared at you and didn’t bother replying, Akashi was…Akashi, and there was no way you could physically get Nebuya to budge (you’ve tried).
Eventually the training camp comes to an end on a good note
You’ve made some new friends, and Momoi had started calling you by your first name, stating how she was going to start visiting you at Rakuzan
You felt proud of how your team had done and how much they had grown during their time at the camp
As you were getting ready to load everything up, Akashi and the rest of the team comes up to you, telling you to leave all the heavy lifting to them
“Are you sure? It’s really not a big deal…”
“You’ve worked hard, _____. Please, go ahead and get on the bus. We’ll be there shortly.” Akashi says, leaving no room for argument.
Once the members have made sure that you’ve left the scene, they all share a glance before turning to the group of basketball members still gathered around.
“Before you all go, we have a friendly warning for you all.” Akashi begins, radiating a powerful aura.
“If anyone of you even THINK that you can take our lovely manager…” Hayama continues, an uncharacteristically dark look flashing through his eyes.
“_____ is a proud member of Rakuzan, and we will never let you get your hands on her.” Mibuchi’s voice is composed, but his eyes are certainly anything but.
“So don’t go getting any bright ideas.” Nebuya finishes, his figure as imposing as always.
“…We’ll kill you.” Mayuzumi adds, scaring most of the crowd due to his sudden appearance.

From @lightveils on Twitter (free to use wherever!). I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. I definitely have enough fics to fill it lol~

A Fic You Love Without Knowing The Source Material:
I was born for this by esama (Assassin’s Creed | Altair x Desmond | M)
Juno did her best to lead him to her preferred fate, but the end is coming and Desmond has doubts.
A Fic With A Premise That Shouldn’t Work But Does:
Proposing To Strangers by moonstalker24 (Teen Wolf | Peter x Stiles | G)
At the end of a strained relationship, crime novelist Stiles chooses to hide from the world inside a bar with far too many motorcycles outside it for comfort. Here he'll meet the man of his dreams, eat food and propose marriage, all within the first five minutes.
Peter doesn't know who this kid is, but he's cute and looks like he could use a break. So he feeds him. He's not expecting a marriage proposal, but with what comes after, he doesn't really mind.
A Fic You’ve Reread Several Times:
Hooverville by twothumbsandnostakeincanon (Teen Wolf | Peter x Stiles | E)
Town to town, train to train, tent to tent.
By 1932, the dust had begun to blow and the jobs were gone.
Anonymity was a byproduct of looking for work, which made it both necessary and convenient.
Stiles had enough secrets of his own to know to look the other way when he saw something that shouldn’t be possible.
The ghost of a tail giving enough balance to disembark a moving train.
Near silent Latin whispered on the edge of a tent encampment.
A flash of burning eyes.
He had more than enough to worry about without adding the oddities of others, and besides- having unusually sharp teeth certainly didn’t make a man worse than the ones running from the wife and kids they couldn’t feed.
So Stiles kept his observations to himself. He kept his everything to himself.

Stories of dragons a thousand times larger, and more intelligent, than the beasts the orcs rode and of a strange concept called freedom where one was allowed to live as they wished with no one to tell them what they could, or could not do.
The stories meant little to Bilba. The only future she had was to live, and die, as a slave as countless number had before her.

Winter Cup, January, the Generation of Miracle’s First Year of High School
Murasakibara couldn’t help the frown that crawled onto his face when Kiyoshi approached him with his stupid smile on his face. He looked away from him, glaring at the air as Kiyoshi said, “Let’s play again sometime!”
Angered by his words for some reason he could put a finger on, he directed his glare back at Kiyoshi instead. “What? No way,” he growled, undoing his hair from the ponytail he’d tied it in. “I’m quitting basketball.” He turned his glare away from Kiyoshi’s face as it fell, ignoring the pang of guilt in his chest when he thought of leaving Himuro behind. “I played until the end because Muro-chin was so desperate, but it wasn’t fun.” His tongue felt awkward in his mouth for some reason. He could feel Kuroko’s gaze on him from the other end of the court, but he ignored it. “It’s already a boring enough sport. There’s no reason to keep playing after I’ve lost.”
He turned away, heading for his bench, when Kiyoshi spoke up. He paused--not because he wanted to hear what Kiyoshi had to say! Mostly because he was pretty sure that Kiyoshi would follow him around to make him hear it. He was a persistent idiot. “I see. I guess it can’t be helped, then." He paused, but Murasakibara could feel that he wanted to say more. “If that’s how you really feel.” Murasakibara could hear the stupid smile in his voice, so he just walked away from Kiyoshi before Kiyoshi’s awful attitude made him do something stupid.
When he reached the bench, he grabbed his towel, throwing it over his head to hide his face. He could feel his eyes burn slightly, but he wasn’t sure why. Huh. Weird.
Himuro came over to him, still full of determination in that way Murasakibara could never understand. Himuro was never going to be talented like Murasakibara--or even Kagami. Why did he try so hard? “We’ll win next time, Atsushi!” He proclaimed proudly. He was sad, but his voice didn’t have the bitterness that Murasakibara could feel growing in his own chest.
“What?” Murasakibara couldn’t keep the anger out of his voice. “I told you, I’m quitting!”
“You sure?” Himuro asked, and Murasakibara hated him, just a little, for how gentle his voice sounded. “It doesn’t seem that way to me.”
Tears fell on his hand where he was trying to zip up his bag, and he realized, with a start, that he was crying. Huh? When did that--
Oh. The burning in his eyes. He screwed up his face, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to rip their way out of his chest.
Okamura’s hand landed on his head. “You’re just getting started. Keep at it!” he told Murasakibara, and Murasakibara wasn’t sure if that was a threat or a promise. He knocked Okamura’s hand off his head, shoving it away with a waving arm.
“You did well, guys.” He heard Coach Araki say to the team. “Let’s go home.”
“Yes ma’am!” The team replied in unison, Murasakibara excluded. When the team respectfully ignored the tears that continued to fall down his face as they headed for the locker room to get changed and when someone shared some sweet snacks with everyone in the locker room--well, he thought that they might not be such a bad group after all.
Even if they were stingy. One snack wasn’t nearly enough for him!
~
Kuroko couldn’t help the feeling of ecstasy that rolled through him every time he thought back to the match earlier that day. They’d won! Against Murasakibara! Against Yosen, the Shield of Aegis! They’d made it to the semi-finals! He honestly couldn’t believe it. It felt more like a dream than reality . . .
But as he watched Kaijo play against Fukuda Sougou, it became more and more real to him. Kise was down there, battling against Haizaki for the sake of Kise’s team. For the chance to face Seirin. It was enough to make him want to cry, though he refused to actually do so.
However, the more time that passed, the more he itched with the need to find Murasakibara. He’d never expected that Murasakibara could go into the Zone, and so it had completely blind-sided him when it happened. But it was a shred of proof, finally, that Murasakibara loved basketball!
Kuroko wanted to tell him--
Well, he didn’t know what he wanted to say. But he could figure it out on the way . . . hopefully, it would be some time before the words actually came out of his mouth. It would be quite embarrassing if he tried to speak but no words came out.
~
Kuroko was apprehensive of the outcome of Shuutoku and Rakuzan’s match. Shuutoku and Seirin had tied in their last official game. The two teams were relatively well-matched and had played many practice matches together over the summer. And to be honest, he knew Shuutoku on a personal level better than he knew almost any other team.
But he had no idea how Shuutoku (and, by extension, Seirin) would match up to Akashi and Rakuzan.
He was as hopeful as he was nervous.
When he started to head down to his seats with the rest of his team, he spotted Murasakibara and Himuro arriving out of the corner of his eye. He frowned, confused, wondering how Himuro could have possibly convinced Murasakibara to willingly come to watch the match, but quickly realized that he’d probably been bribed with junk food.
Kuroko grimaced at the thought of all the junk food Murasakibara constantly ate. Sure, Kuroko liked the occasional (dozen) vanilla shakes, but Murasakibara was just too excessive for him.
Impulsively, he decided to approach them.
When he was finally close enough, he reached up and tapped on Murasakibara’s shoulder, causing the other boy to jolt in shock. He looked around wildly for a moment before looking down and meeting Kuroko’s eyes. Murasakibara’s eyes narrowed. “Kuro-chin,” he said in acknowledgement.
“Hello Murasakibara-kun, Himuro-san.” He gave them both polite nods as Himuro jumped and then blinked at him in surprise.
Himuro smiled at him politely and warmly enough. Though Kuroko could see his slight bitterness (though it was well-hidden, he might add) towards one of the players that had defeated his team yesterday in his eyes. “Ah, hello! Have you come to talk to Atsushi?” When Kuroko nodded, Himuro responded quickly, cutting off the complaint Murasakibara had been about to voice. “The match won’t start for another few minutes. I’m sure you guys will be done by then, yes?” Himuro turned his smile on Murasakibara.
After a few seconds of wavering, Murasakibara crumbled. As he reluctantly followed Kuroko back towards the hallways and away from the overwhelming noise of the crowd around them, Kuroko couldn’t help but feel an amused smile slip over his lips. Himuro was a sneaky one. And probably a good influence on Murasakibara.
When he turned around, Murasakibara was eyeballing him with reluctance (and a bit of thinly-veiled hostility). “Whaddaya want, Kuro-chin?”
As Kuroko stood there, he realized that he didn’t know what he wanted from Murasakibara. And that as much as he disapproved of Muraskaibara’s attitude, he couldn’t help but feel so proud of the fact that he’d gone into the Zone. That he’d found a friend like Himuro.
But he couldn’t say any of that. Murasakibara would just walk away from such “sentimental garbage.” And so when he opened his mouth, he honestly wasn’t sure what would come out. Which was why he was as surprised as Murasakibara when what did come out was: “Himuro-san and Kagami-kun.”
Murasakibara stared at him like he didn’t know why Kuroko was saying something like this before grunting. “What about them?”
“I told Kagami-kun that he and Himuro-san could be rivals and brothers. That he should stop being an idiot.” Kuroko was surprised by the amused snort from Muraskaibara.
“Sounds like you,” he grumbled, and Kuroko decided to take that as a compliment.
“It’s something that I realized when I was playing Midorima-kun in the Tokyo Championship League. Aomine-kun and Kise-kun reminded me of it recently. That we were friends and rivals. Midorima-kun even gave Kagami-kun advice that helped him play better this summer. Without that advice, he likely would have won against us the second time. But he doesn’t seem to regret it at all. And after yesterday. . . Kise-kun will be my next opponent today. And yet, I rooted for him all throughout that match. I was proud when he won. And--”
“Is this going somewhere?” Murasakibara drawled lazily, and Kuroko narrowed his eyes at him.
“And Aomine-kun helped me learn how to shoot in a way suited for me.” Kuroko paused for a second, thinking over all the words that had just come tumbling out of his mouth. They were truer than he had realized. “Maybe wanting to have it all makes me selfish, however, I can’t help bu--” Kuroko shook his head, stopping that train of thought. “I suppose what I’m trying to say is--” Kuroko dug around in his pocket. “Put your new cell phone number in my phone,” he demanded, sticking his phone out to Murasakibara.
Murasakibara glared down at Kuroko, and Kuroko felt so silly. He didn’t know what he was doing here, there was no way Murasakibara would--
“Yeah, okay, Kuro-chin,” he said, taking the phone and plugging his number into the ‘new contact’ option. Kuroko stood there, staring in shock at nothing but air all the while. When Murasakibara plopped the phone back in his still-outstretched hand a minute later, he blinked, returning to reality. He looked up and met Murasakibara’s gaze just in time for his large hand to land on his head. Kuroko scowled at the hand patting his head, before watching, still in disbelief, as Murasakibara strode away back to Himuro.
“Good luck, Kuro-chin,” he called. “You’re going to need it,” he muttered.
~
The fact that Akashi was terrifying wasn’t new information.
Murasakibara had experienced that terror first-hand during their one-on-one in third year of middle school.
But the fact that he had won the match against Shuutoku by so much even after Midorima had improved immensely? That had made even Murasakibara shiver a little in his seat when he had seen the final score.
And now, watching him play against Kuroko and the rest of Seirin, Murasakibara wasn’t sure how to feel. He respected Akashi more than almost anyone he knew, and he couldn’t help but feel bitter towards Seirin, the team that had defeated him and his team. So why . . .
Why did he feel the urge to stand up and cheer Kuroko on too when the rest of their middle school teammates had chosen to scream their support?
Loyalty and laziness kept him trapped in his seat, but as the end of the match approached, he couldn’t stop himself from leaning forward in his seat, tracking the action occurring in the game below him with intent eyes. He felt his palms and his feet itch--like he wanted to move--and scowled, flopping back in his seat to be contrary.
Despite the fact that all of his team had come to watch the match, he was pretty sure only Himuro had noticed the way that (even if it was only for a few moments) he had felt the urge, the want, to play basketball too.
When the cards fell and all was said and done, Seirin stood victorious. Murasakibara felt a strange tinge of unwanted pride. He had lost to the victors of this tournament, and no one less.
As he watched Kuroko’s team tackle him in hugs, the tiny figures dancing across the big, empty court, he felt that itch to play again. And when he watched Akashi shake Kuroko’s hand (his other self was clearly there to stay), he felt a warmth in his chest that almost overwhelmed that itch.
So he scowled and ignored both feelings, reaching into his bag for another snack to eat. Wanting to play basketball and loving basketball the way that Kuroko did was stupid.
~
Later that night, as he lay awake and stared at the ceiling above him, Murasakibara couldn’t stop thinking. He couldn’t stop thinking about the way that all of his teammates, even Akashi, had been changed by their matches against Kuroko and his team. He couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with them!
(What was wrong with him, for not changing too.)
And he couldn’t stop thinking about what it was like to go into the Zone.
The way his focus had narrowed to him, tha players, the ball, and the court--as if nothing else mattered, as if the rest of the world had been drowned out . . . the way he felt like he’d been sinking down beneath the waves of the Zone had been . . . wonderful.
It had been wonderful for every moment that it had happened. It felt like the moment of euphoria that came when he took his first bite of something delicious, a feeling all the following bites could never capture as well as the first. And yet this version of that euphoria had been constant .
It felt like coming home.
And he hated himself for feeling that in the bone-deep way he felt it.
He knew that the other Miracles said you said to love basketball to go into the Zone--but that wasn’t true! It couldn’t be true . . . because he hated basketball.
He was quitting basketball!
He would just as soon as the season was over. After all, he didn’t want to let Himuro down.
But there was always a reason to keep playing, wasn’t there? At first he was just playing to join a club, any club! And then it was because he didn’t want to lose. Then it was because he was good at it. Because he didn’t want to let Akashi down. Because he didn’t want to fall behind all the rest of his teammates. Because he wanted to prove himself to be the best of them all, to beat Kuroko, to not let Himuro down--
There was always something.
But when this year was over . . . there was nothing.
There was no reason for him to keep playing, no reason for him to experience the Zone again.
He didn’t want to experience the Zone again--!
And yet he also did.
He wanted to play with Himuro next year.
He wanted to play against Kuroko, Akashi, and all his middle school teammates.
He wanted to go into the Zone again.
And he didn’t know why.
Groaning, Murasakibara threw an arm over his eyes, closing them and trying to block out the world. He heard his phone buzz. He threw out his other arm, groping around to find his phone. Squinting at the bright screen, he realized it was a text--
A text from Kuroko.
Did you come to the match today Murasakibara-kun?
Debating with himself for a few moments, Murasakibara shook his head at himself when he realized he wanted to reply.
yeah. congrats or whatever
He waited, tensely, for a reply.
Thank you. I was very proud of my team.
Murasakibara rolled his eyes at the response. “Typical Kuro-chin,” he grumbled to himself. But before he could tell Kuroko to leave him alone if that’s all he wanted to say, Kuroko sent another text.
Did you see that they were selling limited-edition sweets there today? I got some for you because I was not certain if you were there.
Murasakibara’s eyes gleamed. This. This was the reason he was friends with Kuroko.
And without realizing that he had started to think of Kuroko as a friend once more, he rapidly texted back, forgetting any reluctance and annoyance he’d previously had in a single moment.
Deep thoughts about annoying things could be saved for another time. Limited-edition sweets were far more important.

Kuroko's Birthday, January 31st, First Year of High School
Kuroko was thankful that Akashi had arranged a practice match between Rakuzan and Yosen in Tokyo yesterday, otherwise he doubted Murasakibara would have showed up at all. It was wonderful to see everyone again, but it was especially wonderful that they were all there for his birthday.
As they played match after match on the street court, he couldn’t help the small grin that he constantly wore on his face. He remembered playing in these various teams of three all the time in middle school, memories that were quite fond in the early days. While they had become tainted with the awful things that happened later on, it now felt like all the pain, anger, and guilt had been excised from those memories.
Kuroko was sure that the others had those memories too, but now all that was left was the enjoyment of the game that they all shared.
He could even see a smile on Murasakibara’s face as they played. Despite the complaints he muttered about them all being fanatics and the way he was constantly saying that he was exhausted from the practice matches between Rakuzan and Yosen the day before, he still kept playing until the rest of them decided to stop too.
After they took a group photo and Kuroko invited them all to the party that Kagami was hosting for his birthday, they all walked towards Kagami’s apartment. Momoi (he wasn’t sure he wanted to know why she knew everyone’s addresses) was leading the way with Akashi while Midorima, Kise, and Aomine argued. But Murasakibara was being quiet enough that he wasn’t dragged into their arguing (for once).
Kuroko fell back to walk next to him.
“Did you have a good day, Murasakibara-kun?”
Murasakibara jumped slightly, before giving him a bored look. “Ehh. It was annoying, but fine, I guess.”
Kuroko smiled, because (for Murasakibara) that was basically admitting that he’d had fun. “Are you excited to--”
“Don’t think that just because I went into the Zone you know how I feel,” Murasakibara snapped, cutting him off and clearly misunderstanding what his question had been about. Kuroko had been planning to ask if he was excited to eat, but well, they might as well have this conversation.
“I don’t know how you feel,” Kuroko agreed easily enough. And Murasakibara was surprised enough by this acknowledgement that he fell silent beside him. “I don’t know what the Zone is like, and I doubt I will ever know, no matter how much I love basketball. So I will only say to you what I have said many times before. And this time, I hope that you will actually hear me: Don’t squander the gifts you have been given. Please play your hardest, Murasakibara-kun.” Kuroko turned to look at Murasakibara as he walked, before nodding and speeding up to leave Murasakibara behind.
He had so much more he wanted to say. But somehow, he didn’t think Murasakibara was quite ready to talk about any of this. That’s why he was so surprised when Murasakibara said, quietly, “I’m not gonna quit my team.”
Kuroko’s pace stuttered with surprise, unsure if maybe he should slow back down to talk more or simply walk in silence. Or if Murasakibara would take that as Kuroko returning to say that he’d been right all along. So instead, he just murmured, “I’m glad,” and poked Aomine in the back to startle him.
He was easily swept up in his other friends’ conversation, but he kept an eye on Murasakibara all evening long. He tried not to be pleased about the fact that he was pretty sure that playing with them today had been a big part of Muraskibara’s reason for deciding to keep playing. But he failed, miserably.
Especially given the fact that he was watching all his friends celebrate his birthday with him, both on the court and off. In truth, he couldn’t stop smiling all day.
~
Vorpal Sword vs Jabberwock , Post-Interhigh, Second Year of High School
Getting benched with a hurt wrist in the middle of the game against Team Jabberwock sucked.
Because being able to play his hardest with a team that could keep up with him? Honestly, it was one of the best feelings Murasakibara had ever felt. And even if he had refused to admit it to anyone else aloud, he had finally become comfortable with the fact that he liked basketball at least a little after he had decided to keep playing basketball.
But even though he was missing out on playing, the feeling that came when their team won the game was . . .
Indescribable.
It made him want to play a thousand more games with the Miracles and Yosen and all of his friends.
~
It was one thing to hear that Kagami was leaving. It was another for Kagami to actually leave. Sitting outside the airport on a bench with his middle school teammates surrounding him, he watched the planes take off and rise through the sky, above the clouds. He knew that Kagami was in one of those planes . . . and he actually felt somewhat sad about it.
“Huh, he’s really gone,” Kise realized with a downcast look on his face.
“Now we’ll never play with him again,” Murasakibara frowned, pausing in rummaging around in his bag of chips. “Not that I care,” he added.
“That’s not true,” Midorima asserted, turning to look at him.
“Huh?” Muraskibara asked.
Aomine, glaring angrily at the road, grumbled. “I’m going to America.”
“What?” Kise asked. “To see Kagamicchi?”
“Of course not, idiot! I’m obviously going to play in the NBA.” Aomine declared loudly.
Kise jumped, turning to stare at him with surprise. “What? When?”
“I don’t know yet,” Aomine dismissed him, as if blustering could cover up the fact that he definitely didn’t actually have any concrete plans, “but I’m definitely going soon.”
Murasakibara decided to ignore them. They were both idiots anyway. At least Midorima was a little less stupid (and a lot more mean). “Mido-chin, what are you talking about?”
Midorima’s gaze had returned to the sky and planes above them. “I could ask you the same thing.  A slight smile curved over his face. “Aren’t we going to keep playing basketball?”
He looked back at the rest of them, but Murasakibara didn’t want to say “yes,” even if it was true.
“Midorima’s right,” Akashi spoke up, his hands elegantly folded together in his lap. “Kagami’s just playing somewhere else now.” He turned his whole face up to the heavens. “As long as we keep playing basketball, we’ll fight him again.”
See you again soon, Kagami, Murasakibara thought, strengthening his resolve and pushing any sadness he might have felt away. He reached for a handful of chips and turned his gaze at the planes overhead like the rest of his friends had.
When they met up with Seirin at the front of the airport to take the bus back together, it felt like it was on purpose that Kuroko chose to sit down in the seat next to him.
Aomine and Kise battled for Kuroko’s attention as much as they did anything else. Midorima’s scoldings just added more noise to the mess. Murasakibara decided that ignoring Midorima was his best bet to avoid being scolded by Akashi--a terrifying prospect. In truth, only Akashi’s iron-clad control over the worst of all of their behavior stopped them from being kicked-off the bus all together. Seirin was surprisingly noisy too, but Murasakibara supposed that made sense. Kuroko wouldn’t know what to do with a peaceful, calm team.
He and Kuroko sat together for most of the ride, not often interacting with each other given all the chaos that was around them. When they finally got close to their stop, he offered some of his sugary snacks to Kuroko. Kuroko took a vanilla wafer with a small smile.
Staring directly at the seat in front of him as he spoke, Murasakibara finally said. “I like playing basketball.”
It was something he wasn’t sure he’d admit to anyone else in the world besides Kuroko--except probably Himuro and maybe Akashi.
Kuroko simply said: “I know.”
He scowled. “Ugh, you’re so self-righteous, Kuro-chin. I still don’t think that liking basketball makes me, or anyone else, a better player or anything!”
“I know.” Kuroko didn’t push the point, like Murasakibara had feared he would.
So he heaved a sigh and changed the subject. “I wish you’d just shut up sometimes.”
“I know,” Kuroko said, but he was smiling.
Murasakibara couldn’t stop the smile that was growing on his own face, thankful that Kuroko wasn’t making a big deal out of this. He was simply letting this moment happen between just them, without the scrutiny of their ex-teammates or Kuroko’s current teammates.
This time, when he felt that warmth in his chest he associated with friendship, that itch in his soul to play, he chose to smile instead of frown.
For once, he chose to lay down his shield, his walls, and let those feelings in.
He wanted to play. He loved to play. And he wouldn’t have it any other way. After all, he may have to say goodbye to friends over the years, but one thing he wanted to hold on tight to was basketball. As long as he kept playing, he would see friends he’d thought were long gone, friends like Kuroko, again.
And that was why he would never stop playing basketball.

Inspired by one of the asks you've received recently: do you have any Kagami tracks that you would share with us? 🙈 Your thoughts as to why you associate those songs with him are welcome and appreciated!!! As always, love your work and I hope you're having a nice day!!
Oh ye sure!! (Sorry for the delay I’ve been absolutely swamped starting a new job and haven’t had a chance to finish formatting this -_-) I honestly don’t have as many for Kagami as Aomine -- which I think is less to do with favoritism bc I love him a lot too, it’s just my personal music taste syncs up a little less with his character -- but I’ve actually been working on a playlist for him recently so here ya go ^^:
1. Lake Effect Kid by Fall Out Boy - k I know this one’s actually about growing up in Chicago (and I therefore may be biased since it’s an anthem of mine too) but I just really vibe with the sound of it when applied to Kagami, that opening guitar riff gets me every fuckin time.
2. HARD LOVE by NEEDTOBREATHE - the lyrics in this one work well with a dark horse like Kagami I think, esp “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger/get back up”, all that; the feel is a little different than the rest of this list but it’s still an inspiring, motivational theme that resonates with my feelings for his character growth.
3. Champion by Barns Courtney - ya know I gotta throw Barns Courtney in there... this band works with Kagami really well, from the mood to the lyrics... and then the title of this one just sold me, a good theme for the boy.
4. All My Life by Foo Fighters - that beat drop tho. I could totally see a song like this playing over a montage of Kagami climbing his way through the ranks, it’s hungry and aggressive and it also fuckin slaps what more do you need?
5. Born Ready by Zayde Wølf - a lot of these are just “come at me bro I’ll fuck u up” in song form... but honestly, that’s Kagami in a nutshell to me. this song works with him on every level, at least for me, and I can’t not list it here.
6. Survival by Muse - fun fact I actually saw this track in someone’s Aomine mix, but I could totally see it with Kagami too, possibly even more so. he’s a bit (read: a lot) more motivation-driven so I think the lyrics fit him considerably better and I’ll take any excuse to throw Muse in a character playlist.
7. Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen - gotta go with the classics. and no I’m not just throwing this one out there bc of the line “leaping through the sky like a tiger”. ...probably. I think it really reflects how Kagami’s not really beating the GoM bc of some personal vendetta (unlike, say, Kuroko) he just really enjoys basketball and facing strong opponents and doesn’t ever want to have to stop.
8. Check It Out by Oh The Larceny - I’ve actually got a couple songs by this band in Kagami’s unofficial mix, but I love this one... so much, it’s got so much energy and cocky attitude and those lyrics (“I'm on a big stage/I've got my crew/I'll get you moving/it's what I do”)  feel so much like him I just gotta.
9. Renegade by Paramore - confession time, I never grew out of Paramore... and I like this song with Kagami a lot. I don’t really have a justification other than the title and general mood but there you are. fight me.
10. Believer by Imagine Dragons - I think this one was actually in your Kagami mix lmao but I decided to add it to mine too AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY. first of all the sound really blends well with the rest of this list, sort of a rebellious marching anthem, but also the lyrics, damn... I’ve known this song for ages but I never really thought of them with Kagami and they just work, esp “I was broken from a young age/taking my sulking to the masses/writing my poems for the few/that look at me, took to me, shook to me, feeling me”. one of the few songs in this list that address his backstory before Seirin and for that I really had to steal it.
One of these days I’ll make an actual playlist for this guy, I’m branching out from my usual MO little by little and it’s kinda about damn time I showed my boy some love <3

Kurobas Valentine’s Day Event 2020 Day 4: NijiAka
Oh gosh, I’ve finally finished this after a looooong time. And because it’s Valentines, various pairings (MuraHimu, MidoTaka, AoKise, and KagaKuro) appear on this. And it’s time for this pair to make a debut at least for me because the guy who plays Nijimura on the stageplay is my Kubota Hidetoshi. :P Once again, special thanks to @vanilla-daydreams and @theuglycrybaby for this wonderful event.

Day 4 Prompt: Love Song/I wish you were here.
Title: Valentines’ Surprise
Summary: Akashi has finally realized that greater things come to those who wait.
Rating: T
Words: 4, 009
Also on Ao3
Akashi Seijurou is currently overlooking his team’s practice. Because of their loss, he and the coach have decided to pump up their training regime to get back what’s rightfully theirs for the next Winter Cup.
It has been two weeks since he has woken up from his own body and since Seirin has beaten them. For the excruciating weeks following his comeback, the Akashi Seijurou has been longing. Since he emerges, his first thought after losing is to badly talk to Nijimura-san. He has been longing to see or even talk to his previous captain. He wants to apologize for everything as well as to tell him something important. Something that he couldn’t say or even show before because his other self has gotten so obsessed with winning and being absolute to the point that he has pushed everyone away.
He has been lucky that his previous team, his first real friends, are able to accept him again after all his wrongdoings in the past when they all meet up for Kuroko’s birthday. No words have been said, just a welcoming feeling that he still belongs with them. He feels that he doesn’t deserve it but nonetheless reaches out their hands again because he seriously doesn’t want to lose them again this time. And now, looking at his current teammates, he promises himself that he won’t do the same mistake again.
-x-
Practice ends in an uneventful way and Seijurou just wants to retire to his room for the night.  Although he has been thinking a lot after he comes back but today, he is feeling so pensive and he doesn’t know why. He creases his forehead as he feels an incoming headache. Thinking that he has enough practice for today, he shouts some more last-minute orders for the other first years before he makes his way to the locker room. However, when he arrives there, he is greeted by the usual occurrence with the three second years starting with Nebuya flexing his muscles and he feels like Hayama is a walking bungee jumper with a megaphone attached. Although it is a bit different from Mibuchi. These past few days, Mibuchi finds a fascination for Western slow rock love songs ranging from the 70s-90s. Almost every day, he will give him his most recommended song, he’ll listen to it then he’ll give his input the next day. He actually indulges his teammates with their quirks and whims to get closer and to get to know them better like what he has done with the Kisekis before to deepen the bond and trust among themselves.
“Sei-chan~,” Mibuchi greets him as well as the other two. He nods at them as he goes in front of his locker to change.
“Hey, Akashi, Reo-nee says he wants to go to the convenience store and Ei-chan and I are gonna tag along. Come with us!” Hayama asks him excitedly. He thinks for a bit; he doesn’t have much homework today and he has been meaning to get the Basketball Monthly for this month.
“Okay, I’ll come.”
“Ara, Sei-chan you make me happy~” He sees Mibuchi and Hayama from the corner of his eye do a high five.
A small smile tug on his lips thinking that it’s okay to have fun with these guys.
Their trip to the convenience store somewhat reminds him of what they used to do back in middle school. It is a refreshing feeling. Hayama strongly reminds him of Kise as a ball of energy. Mibuchi is like Midorima who is engaging him in a sensible conversation. With Nebuya, he’s like Kuroko in a way that he will just input on the conversation from time to time less the gross burping. He must admit that he misses Murasakibara’s constant munching with crumbs leaving a trail from point a to point b as well as Aomine’s contagious smile and sometimes, stupidity. He is thinking that maybe, he should hang out with them more after school. They also end up eating dinner at a nearby restaurant near the convenience store because Nebuya wants to eat more meat.
And thus, when they reach their boarding, Mibuchi stops him and gives him his song for the day. He accepts it with a small smile and promises him that he’ll give him his review tomorrow. They bid their goodbyes as he retires to his room. He does his routine: bath, do his homework while listening to classical music, do some stretching before going to bed and the newly added one, check out Mibuchi’s recommended song for the day. He unfolds the paper and looks at the title with Mibuchi’s neat handwriting.
First Time by Robin Beck
Seijurou then opens his laptop and starts searching the song and the lyrics. As he is listening, he thinks that so far this is the best one yet. Mibuchi is giving him songs varying from I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis, Love Will Lead You Back by Taylor Dayne to Morning Train by Sheena Easton. He thinks that all of them are good songs but the first one is too cliché, the second one is too painful while the last one is for adulting...kind of.
But this song, First Time by Robin Beck triggers something in him. The fine use of metaphor when you experience your first love is so beautiful as well as the feelings and hesitations that comes with it when you finally have the love you desire. The melody is something upbeat as slow rock music is meant to be and the exquisite timing fits the lyrics properly.
Probably because he’s on a pensive move all day and him, Akashi Seijurou is never really a fan of love songs. Not at all, thank you very much. It’s just so out of his character but it’s quite alright for him because he is actually learning something from it as well as having some bonding moment with Mibuchi. He especially likes these lines:
So mysterious yet so incredibly real
It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door
But you gotta reach out and you gotta explore
Even though you're not sure till the moment arrives
There he is and you know you're in love
And it reminds him of Nijimura-san. The guy that he never has a chance to express how he really feels. He is a little bit too late. Nijimura-san has already left when he realized everything. Also, it is one of the reasons why his split personality has gotten worst to the point of emerging so soon. He lost his support system and he got pressured for leading the team to victory after victory. He has realized it too late that it was and it still is Nijimura-san who can keep him in line after all this time.
He repeats the song again as he digs deeper into the metaphors when his phone continuously vibrates, signaling that he has an incoming call. He pauses the music as he reaches for his phone and looks at the caller before answering. His eyes widen for a brief moment because the one calling him is Murasakibara and he is definitely not expecting a call from him by this time just because the big baby is usually asleep as early as 1930 and it’s already past 2300 now.
Curiously, he answers his phone.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Aka-chin. Can you come to Tokyo this weekend? I want to see you. Also, Mido-chin, Mine-chin, Kuro-chin, Kise-chin and Sa-chin are coming too.” Seijurou smiles as he heard the usual childish voice of Murasakibara. After all, even though he is the youngest of the team, he and Nijimura-san always baby him just so he would listen to them when they tell him to do something. He will always have a soft spot for their team’s big baby, after all.
“What is coming this weekend? It’s not like you to actually exert an effort to come to Tokyo from Akita.”
He hears some speaking noise from the other line and he can make up that Murasakibara is talking to Himuro based on a Muro-chin call and Atsushi coming from the pretty boy. “Eh? I don’t know what you’re talking about Aka-chin but come. Everyone is coming so you should too.”
It’s funny that almost everyone he knows is mostly inviting him to something today. He just doesn’t expect one from Murasakibara though.
“Okay, I will come. Where are we meeting up?”
“Do you still remember that court that we always play at near Teiko?”
“Yes.”
“Yeah, there. See you, Aka-chin. Bye.”
He sets down his phone on the desk as he wonders what has Murasakibara has eaten for him to organize this meet-up. It’s normal if it’s Momoi who calls him tonight because she usually arranges the meet up for everyone. He just continues the song and makes up his mind that dwelling with Murasakibara’s peculiar behavior is not worth it for he trusts the gentle baby giant.
-x-
Saturday comes and he is anticipating this day. When Mibuchi caught wind of his plan, he insists that he comes with him because he wants to see the Kisekis too especially Kise. He asks Murasakibara if he can tag Mibuchi along and replies okay since he’s bringing Himuro Tatsuya with him too. And now, they are currently taking a bus going to Teiko. It’s not that he feels nostalgic  but because of the fact that being near Teiko gives him a bittersweet memory. He tries to whisk away all the pessimistic thoughts that he is having. After all, he is meeting his friends and it’s supposed to be a joyful event for him.
When they finally arrive at the street courts, he is greeted by his friends warmly. After he says his greetings to them as well as Mibuchi, he sits down by the bench as he endearingly watches his friends interact with each other.
Midorima is holding delicately an airplane model for his lucky item for the day as Kise wants to play with it because it is his dream to be a pilot much to the chagrin of the bespectacled boy. Aomine has challenged Mibuchi to a one on one which the latter gladly accepts and says “Ikemen Target No. 1: Lock on~”. He chuckles at his teammates but said nothing when he sees Aomine cringing. Momoi is affectionately talking to Kuroko. However, the guy who has organized this meeting is still missing.
“Has anyone heard from Murasakibara?” It is Midorima who asks, obviously irritated.
“Murasakibara-kun is going to come, he just needs to do something first.” Kuroko supplies.
“I wonder why Mukkun called us here. Do you happen to know the reason, Tetsu-kun?”
“Yes, I would like to know that too.” By this time, all heads turn to him when he has spoken. “Do you know anything Kuroko?”
Kuroko looks at him with his usually impassive face as he takes out his phone and calls someone.
“Hello, Kagami-kun?...yeah...they’re coming now? Okay...you’re still with Takao-kun? Right...you can come here with Takao-kun...All right...vanilla milkshake please..thanks!”
After the conversation, Kuroko faces them again and says, “They’re coming now. Probably they have just gotten lost knowing Murasakibara-kun as well as Himuro-san. Even I don’t know why Murasakibara-kun called us.”
This time, it is Midorima who comments, “You’re awfully close with Himuro-san, Kuroko.”
“Yeah. We always hang out at Kagami-kun’s house whenever he and Murasakibara-kun will come to Tokyo.”
“Eh? Really, Kurokochi? Why is Murasakibarachi not saying anything whenever he comes to Tokyo?”
Kuroko mysteriously smiles, “I think you’ll just have to ask him when he comes.”
Aomine then comes and he one arm hugs Kise, “Cmon, Kise. Isn’t it too obvious? They’re always together. Also, they’re in the same room.”
“Eh? EEEEHHHHH???!!!!”
“Too loud, Kise. Aomine, I’m surprised by your perspective thinking only for today, in fact.” Midorima says as he pushes his glasses up with his taped fingers.
“Shut up, megane. Can’t you even say something nice? And yeah, Kise, so stop whining.”
Seijurou, for the lack of a better word, is in fact, shocked. Just because this is Murasakibara that we are talking about. He more or less gets what they are implying. It is as clear as the sky for Aomine and Kise because they’ve been at it since middle school. For Midorima with Takao, they make it painfully obvious during the Rakuzan vs. Shutoku match last Winter Cup. He knows about Kuroko and Kagami because Kuroko has admitted it to him during his birthday. He knows that Himuro is treating Murasakibara like his baby chick and he has thought that it’s platonic. He has decided now that he should learn more about human interactions. He will have to buy a book before going back to Kyoto.
As he is contemplating different books about human interactions and where to get them, Kagami and Takao arrive, with the tiger carrying two big paper bags from Maji Burger with Takao trailing after him who is holding the drinks. He sees Mibuchi joyfully approaches Takao as Midorima shots the boy a glare.
“Yo, everyone!” Kagami and Takao greet them. He nods at the two as they settle the paper bags and drinks on the bench. Takao goes behind Midorima just because Mibuchi has locked on his second target in the form of one Takao Kazunari much to the entertainment of Momoi. Kagami, on the other hand, is greeted by Kuroko with a small smile of his as he hands him his vanilla milkshake. Kise and Aomine are cuddling together much to the sourness of Midorima because he says it’s too vulgar. He, on the other hand, just accepts the food as Kagami is handing out for everyone. But still, Murasakibara sure is taking his sweet time. He is itching to call the tall purple head because although he is with every one of his friends and their other half, it feels like they are still incomplete.
And as everyone starts digging in with their food, they heard footsteps coming in their way. When he looks up, he sees Murasakibara, Himuro and a third person that is awfully familiar. He just can’t tell because the third person is wearing dark sunglasses as well as a baseball cap.
“Hi, everyone~!” Murasakibara waves at then with his usual lazy tone and three sticks of pocky hanging on his mouth.
“The hell you called us early in here and you arrived late?! I should be sleeping.........” Aomine yells indignantly follows by Midorima’s, “You have some nerve to let us wait in here, in fact.” They can see that something like a green smoke oozing out of Midorima’s body as Takao tries to pacify his boyfriend.
“Murasakibarachi, what’s up with the sudden meetup? Why are you late? Did something happen? You know we are worried that you might be lost as always..........”
“Hello, Mukkun, Himuro-san.”
“Hello, Murasakibara-kun, Himuro-san.”
“Hey, Murasakibara, Himuro-san.”
Murasakibara snaps for the constant nagging coming from Kise and Aomine as well as the sharp glare coming from Midorima. The next thing they know, his right hand is already moving to clamp a head as he just tells them.
“Shut up, guys. I’ll crush each and every one of you.”
Seijurou just sighs as he looks at his friends. His crazy friends. By then, he noticed that the mysterious guy behind Himuro is laughing at their display. It seems like he isn’t the only one who has noticed it as the rest of them has stopped talking and look at the mysterious newcomer.
Himuro chuckles at their expressions before saying, “Hey, Shuu. I think they’ve had enough of your disguise.”
It is actually Kuroko who snaps out of their first, “Nijimura-senpai?”
As soon as Kuroko calls that name, he snaps his head to look at the mysterious guy as he removes his sunglasses and cap.
“What’s up brats?” He lightly greets them with a grin.
Seijurou holds a deep breath as he properly looks at him. Nijimura-san is here in flesh and blood. He is snapped out when everyone has started to call out and surround Nijimura-san excitedly.
“Nijimura-senpai. It has been a while, in fact.”
“Nijimuraccchiiiiii!!!”
“Yo, Nijimura-senpai.”
“Hey brats, calm down!” He says as he greets every person there. The guys outside Teiko seems to be confused by the newcomer.
And hesitantly, he slowly moves forward to him and bravely faces his old captain. He lets out the breath that he has been holding as he genuinely smiles.
“Nijimura-san, it’s been a while.” The older boy just grins at him as he pats his head affectionately. “Yo, Akashi. You’ve grown huh?”
“Of course. I am a boy who is hitting puberty. I am supposed to grow.”
Nijimura-san just smirks at him. “You still don’t have any funny bone in you.”
Akashi gives him a small smile as the group settles by the benches, gives him food and from there, a series of conversations have started mostly from Kise asking a ton of questions to Nijimura-san as well as they introduce him to the others.
“Takao, Mibuchi and Kagami, this is Nijimura Shuuzo. Our old captain from Teiko.”
“Ara, what an ikemen, Sei-chan.”
“Heh, he’s the one that Shin-chan is talking about.”
“Ne, ne, Nijimurachi, how come Murasakibarachi knows you’re arriving?”
They all look at him and waits for an answer because everyone is as curious as he is.
Nijimura-san sips his soda before he answers, “Well, I’m friends with Tatsuya. We met in LA. And because he is a sly fox, he finds it entertaining to call me at Skype when it’s really late in America. Turns out he’s roommates with Murasakibara so I’ve been keeping tabs on you guys. They also picked me up at the airport earlier but they were late. I also asked him to set this meet up.”
Himuro chuckles as he retorts, “You know, I’m not quite good with directions and Atsushi usually gets lost so put us two together, of course, we’re bound to get lost.”
Everyone laughs at that but they now know the reason why Murasakibara has set this meet up. It is coming from Nijimura-san after all.
“How come you just visit us just now, Nijimurachi? How is your dad?”
Nijimura-san actually spares a glance on him before looking back at the rest and answers, “My Dad is all better now, thanks. He is actually the one who says that I can have a vacation for a bit because between school, part-time job and taking care of my Dad, I barely have time to spare for myself. Also, I need to see how far my sons have come.” He smirks at them but Seijurou kind of feels offended that Nijimura-san also sees him as his son. Out of nowhere, he abruptly stands up and excuses himself from the rest as he goes on his way to the restroom. He can hear the others calling for him but he doesn’t really want them to see him being so out of character - being fragile and offended. He needs time to compose himself, for goodness’ sake, he is Akashi Seijuro and Akashis don’t show any weaknesses.
Once he is done composing himself, he goes out of the restroom but is surprised to see Nijimura-san standing outside as if he is waiting for him. Seijuro snorts inwardly at the thought. By now, he has learned the hard way not to expect anything from other people or else he might push them more away from him.
“Yo, Akashi, why did you suddenly bailout?”
“And you, Nijimura-san, why are you here?”
“It’s suffocating there, everyone is doing a public display of attention even Midorima and his little bird and otou-san can’t handle it.” He says with a straight face which is amusing if he must say. He can’t help but let out a small laugh.
“Ah yes, I am surprised as well with everyone dating someone especially Murasakibara. I mean he’s our big baby.”
Nijimura-san just chuckles. “Yeah, I’ll kill Tatsuya if he makes our big baby cry, ne, okaa-san?”
Seijurou does something out of his character for he actually widens his eyes and gapes at him for a few seconds. Thinking that he must have heard his statement wrong, he inquires again.
“Sorry I missed what you said. Can you repeat it again?”
He can see that his face has a tint of red showing as he faces him and moves closer to him until they are only a foot away. He actually has to look up at him because he has gotten taller as he remembers him to be. But he couldn’t deny the fact that Nijimura-san has gotten more....dashing.
“W-Well, Akashi, other than seeing our sons, my priority is to talk to you about two things.”
“About what?”
“Well, first, you know Murasakibara told me everything and I want to see if you’re okay now.”
“Yes, better than I’ll ever be.”
“Good, then for the second one.”
“Yes?”
“I’ve been meaning to tell you this before but I’ve seen you getting harder to approach and getting more aloof by that time so I thought that it’s not yet time. But now....” he inhales a deep breath as he looks straight into his red-maroon eyes and continues softly, “...would you be the mother to our rainbow sons again?”
For the first time in his life, Akashi Seijurou is getting a really lame confession and he can’t help but chuckle. Nijimura-san has said it with such a straight face that he really doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry out of happiness.
“That’s a lame confession, Nijimura-san.”
“Shut up. It took me three whole years to say that.” As soon as the older boy says that, he can’t help but blush just because for three years, he has this lingering feeling of love for one Nijimura Shuuzo. The moment is already here and he remembers the lyrics of the song.
So mysterious yet so incredibly real
It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door
But you gotta reach out and you gotta explore
Even though you're not sure till the moment arrives
There he is and you know you're in love
He is already here and he just needs to reach out and explore.
“Yes, I’ll be the okaa-san for our rainbow sons again, otou-san.”
Omake
It has been a precious week of happiness that will forever be engraved in Seijurou’s heart once he and Shuuzo are together. The others have teased them to no end once they have learned that finally, their parents are together after three long years. Everyone gives their congratulations and some threats to their otou-san that they will fly to America if he makes their okaa-san cry. Seijurou finds it funny how Shuuzo gets rooted in his place as he listens to every threat that their sons throw on him.
However, Shuuzo is only staying for a week so when he flies back, it is a bittersweet moment for both of them. They hug each other tightly with a promise that they will be in touch at all times with each other.
And now, Valentine’s day has come and he is actually feeling a little bit lonely because his other half is on the other side of the world. He is currently on the rooftop where he has met Mayuzumi-san before, feeling the wind touching on his skin. His phone suddenly vibrates signaling a message and smiles as he sees Shuuzo’s name.
From: Nijimura Shuuzo
To: Mama Sei
Subject: Good morning
Message: Happy Valentines’ Day, okaa-san. I miss you. Don’t let our sons run wild today! I’ll call you later during my lunch break at school.
He smiles as he is typing a reply because he never knew that the Nijimura Shuuzo who always beat up Haizaki into the brink of death could be this sweet.
From: Mama Sei
To: Nijimura Shuuzo
Re: Subject: Good morning
Message: Happy Valentines’ Day too, otou-san. Wish you were here. I’ll be waiting for your call later.
Suddenly, he doesn’t feel lonely anymore.
NOTE: Hello, I'm back again with the fourth installment. This one, I've tried to grasp Akashi's and Nijimura's character as much as possible. Please excuse the long narration from Akashi because after all, he is a man who constantly thinks and Nijimura being the cheeky adorable bastard that he is. Hope you guys like this as I have really fun writing this. That song from Robin Beck is a personal favorite of mine and I feel that it just fits Akashi’s baby feeling for Nijimura. Thanks much for reading and Happy Valentines from my sons and me <3

Kagami x Reader
Title: Crushing on your Best Friend Fluff No Warning
You, Taiga and Tatsuya had been friends for a long time. So when they left for Japan at different times, you felt alone. it had been a long while since you had seen them. So when your school offered you a chance to move to Japan as a transfer student, you instantly agreed. Now, here you were making your way to the basketball tournament. You knew it was today because Taiga and Tatsuya would always tell you when they had games. You had every intention of surprising him, but you didn’t expect to see Tatsuya there. But it made sense, since they were brothers and what not.
Tatsuya must have felt you staring at him because he turned his head to you. His eyes widen as he broke out into a smile. A tall guy with purple hair looked at him confused before looking over at you.
“(Y/N)….” He picked you up and hugged you tightly, serveral other people turned and stared at you.
“Man she is hot.”
“Look at her rack.”
“Is Tatsuya her boyfriend.” You blushed a bright red, and began to get nervous. Tatsuya shot them a glare and shook his head slightly.
“She is like my younger sister, now shut up.” Everyone shuddered at the glare before and got quiet before he turned back to you.
“What are you doing here in Japan?”
“Well, my school offered me a chance to be a transfer student. Since I felt so alone after you and Taiga left, I instantly accepted.” You looked down and Tatsuya nodded his head in understanding.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to make you feel alone.” He said patting your head and you smiled up.
“It’s okay.”
“What school will you be attending?”
“Seirin…”
“Darn I was hoping you would say Yoshen. Does Taiga know?”
“No, not yet. I was going to surprise him and sorry Tatsuya I didn’t get a choice…”
“I know and it’s not your fault so don’t apologize. Plus you will be with Taiga.” He smirked at you, and your face turned a bright red that it almost glowed.
“Dude, Tatsuya I think you broke her.” The purple hair guy said and Tatsuya only laugh.
“Don’t go there Tatsuya!” You huffed hiding your face and Tatsuya laughed softly.
“Sorry, I had to tease you. It’s been so long. By the way this is Murasakibara, Murasakibara this is (Y/N) a long time friend of mine adn Taiga’s.”
“It’s nice to meet you… do you have any snacks?” He asked and you blinked and Tatsuya sighed softly but you nodded reaching in your suit case and handed him a bag of chips.
“I don’t need them.”
“Thanks, you are officially my best friend.” He said and you smiled slightly.
“It’s no problem.”
“Anyway, the game is almost over. When it’s over I can take you to Taiga.”
“Yes please, I almost got lost in here.”
“Alright.” He smiled softly and the three of you went back to watching the game with Seirin winning the game. When it was over, Tatsuya gently took your hand and led you to the back where Taiga would be. When you guys got close enough, Tatsuya put you behind him before calling out to Taiga and the team.
“Taiga…” Taiga turned around and saw Tatsuya .
“Yeah, what’s up?” He had his head tilted, confused as to why Tatsuya called him like this.
“I have someone for you.”
“Who?”
“A transfer student to your school.” The entire team got curious as they stared and Taiga looked even more confused. Tatsuya pushed you gently in front of him, and Taiga’s eyes widen in shock.
“She is really cute.”
“Does Kagami know her?”
“Why is it that Kuroko and Kagami both know hot people?” You began to get flustered at the comments, but Kagami ignored them. He walked to you calmly before picking you up in the air and spun you around. You let a small squeak out as you clung to him laughing softly.
“I missed you so much Taiga.” You said with a small blush and he buried his face in your hair. Neither one of you minded that he was sweaty, just glad to be together again like old times.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
“I wanted it to be a surprise to be fair, Tatsuya didn’t know either I saw him when I arrived.”
“I see… do you have a place to stay?”
“Well right now, a hotel because the apartment they had for me wasn’t cleared out.”
“You can stay with me… tell them you have a friend or family that you can stay with.” He said and you blushed but nodded.
“Idiot, she can’t stay with you.” Junpei said and you looked at him confused.
“Why not?”
“You are a girl and he is a male…”
“We had done it before…” You said and Taiga nodded his head and everyone’s faces turned red. Kagami soon realized what they were thinking.
“God, get your minds out of the gutter.” He yelled at his team, thats when you caught on and almost past out from embarrassment.
“(Y/N) is too innocent for that.” Tatsuya said shaking his head sighing softly.
“Hey I gotta go change, and what not. So, just wait for me here okay?” He said to you and you nodded your head.
“Okay, I don’t have to go to the hotel, since I came straight here after landing.” You said and he nodded with a smile. When he left to go change Tatsuya wrapped his arms around you hugging you tightly.
“Taiga will take good care of you, so you don’t have to worry.”
“I know, we will be able to hang out too right?”
“Of course, when we aren’t studying or basketball we can.” He ruffled your hair and you sighed softly with a wide smile.
“Okay…”
“I have to go with the team, Taiga won’t take long.”
“Okay, thank you.” You said hugging him tightly and he returned the hug. He then left and you sat down on the bench, holding the suitcase.
It wasn’t long before Taiga came out, and stood in front of you.
“Shall we go?”
“Mhmm.” You nodded and he took your suitcase from you before taking your hand. You both walked behind the basketball team.
“I should warn you, they are going to invade my house wanting me to cook.”
“That’s okay, I can help you cook.” You said with a small smile and Taiga smiled as well.
“Thanks, I miss your cooking.” He said and you smiled looking up at him.
“Well, I can take over it.”
“No need, we can rotate. Or cook together.”
“I like cooking together with you Taiga.” He had a small blush on his cheeks as he realized he missed hearing you call his name.
“I can’t wait to get to your home.” You said and he looked at you confused and you blinked.
“(Y/N) it’s our home.” He said leaning down to kiss your cheek, you blushed a bright red hiding your face with your hair.
“I am happy you are here (Y/N).”
“I am too Taiga. I missed you so much.” Taiga stopped walking for a moment blushing as he turned to you.
“I love you so much, I don’t think you realize that.” He said, his hands were starting to sweat and you could tell he was nervous. Your face was red but you took it to the next step, leaning on your tippy toes, and pressed your lips to his. Kagami was shocked but he slowly began to kiss back. You pulled away and had a wide smile on your face.
“I love you too Taiga.”
“So does this mean we are dating?”
“If you want us too…”
“Well I do, so you are my girlfriend now.”
“Okay love birds, lets go.” Hyuga said and Kagami shot him a glare for destroying the moment.
“We are coming.” He said before lacing your fingers together and you both began to walk again.

GoM as Dads // Kise Ryouta
“Ah, look at him go, y/n-cchi!” Ryouta squealed as his thirteen month old son wobbled toward him on his tiny legs. Ryouta quickly scooped him up before he had any chance to lose his balance, nuzzling his nose into the tiny boy's neck causing the baby to giggle.
“Yuuto is growing up so fast, isn't he?” You walked over to where you husband and son were and rested your head on Ryouta's shoulder, gazing down at Yuuto. Yuuto noticed the presence of his mother and flung his chubby hands toward you, begging for you to hold him.
“Ugh, he's already a mama's boy.” Ryouta mumbled, relinquishing possession of Yuuto and folding his arms across his chest as he watched Yuuto snuggle into your chest.
“Well, I am the one who gave birth to him, Ryouta. Don't be jealous. I bet by the time he's old enough to play with you, he'll think his dad is cooler than I am. After all, his dad's a pilot and a past basketball prodigy. What more could a boy ask for?”
“A beautiful mother.” Ryouta answered quickly, wrapping his arms around you's waist and kissing the back of your head. “He's already so in love with you, he better realize you're mine soon or we'll have a problem.”
“He's our son, Ryouta, not some guy trying to hit on me.”
“So? I bet Yuutocchi is gonna be a heart-breaker just like I was.”
“He's a baby, Ryouta.” You giggled, cradling Yuuto with one arm and flicking Ryouta with the other. Ryouta whined and rubbed his forehead before focusing his attention back on Yuuto.
“But he's my son, he's bound to be a heart-breaker.”
“Mm, I think that award goes to Kuroko-kun's son. Remember that day they came over to the park right by our house for a play date with Yuuto and all the little girls there flocked to him? Touma-kun is definitely already a heartbreaker.” You recall the time that, while Yuuto and Kuroko Touma were playing in the sandbox, small groups of girls their age would try to play with Touma and totally ignore Yuuto, who didn't seem to notice or mind.
You yawned and sat down on the couch with Yuuto still in your arms, letting your head loll back onto the headrest. Ryouta furrowed his eyebrows in concern as he watched you struggle to keep your eyes open.
“Hey, you want me to take Yuutocchi for a while? So you can get some rest?” He offered, moving closer to the couch and looking you in the eyes. You had to stifle another yawn in order to accept his offer, handing over Yuuto and spreading yourself out on the couch. You watched Ryouta and Yuuto play on the carpet, a few feet away from the couch, until you finally relinquished your will to stay awake.
-
You woke up with a start, the fact that you were alone in your dark living room set you on edge, and then the complete silence that enveloped you was another cause for concern. You remembered that you had given Yuuto to Ryouta so you could take a quick nap, and you knew that the last place you’d seen them was right in front of you. You eased up off the couch, careful to not make yourself dizzy, and headed toward the bathroom, turning on lights along the way.
You breathed a sigh of relief as you stood in the doorway of the bathroom, finding Kise and Yuuto in the bathtub, Kise in swimming trunks and Yuuto in his birthday suit, concentrating on entirely different things. Kise’s tongue was curled onto his top lip in deep focus as he carefully gave Yuuto a soapy mohawk and Yuuto was too busy trying to drown his toy duck to care. You leaned on the doorway, looking on at your husband and child until Ryouta finally noticed you and yelped.
“You scared me, y/n-cchi!” He put a hand over his heart dramatically, getting some suds and water on his chest, before settling back into his easy smile. “How was your six hour nap?”
“There’s no way I slept for six hours.”
“Think about it, babe. It was noon when you laid down on the couch, and the sun was still out--now it’s dark and almost seven.” Ryouta challenged, using on hand to scoop up handfuls of water over Yuuto’s head and simultaneously shielding the baby’s face from getting water on it with the other.
“Well, I guess it was about six hours then.” You digressed, moving deeper into the bathroom and kneeling down to give both of your boys a kiss on the cheek. “Anyhow, it’s about time we all eat dinner. Got anything particular in mind?”
“Do we have stuff to make beef and broccoli?” Kise asked, looking up hopefully from his current work of softly massaging Yuuto’s head.
“Absolutely, I’ll be in the kitchen. Love you.” You blew Ryouta a kiss and he caught it, making you roll your eyes as you left the bathroom.
-
“Smells good, babe.” Ryouta rested his head on your shoulder and you turned the hot plates off, trying to move the pan from the stove to the counter but unable to move in your husband’s embrace. The water droplets in his hair escaped his head and christened your shoulder, making you shiver.
“Thanks, it’s almost ready.” You transitioned your focus from the food to Ryouta, turning around to give him a peck on the nose. “Also...it’s your turn to feed Yuu-chan.” You grabbed the jar of smashed peas from the next to the stove and turned back around, flashing Ryouta a smile. He released his hold on you and slumped his shoulders a bit.
“But I just gave him a bath, and you didn’t even have to ask me to do that!” Ryouta whined, nevertheless taking the jar and walking to the dining room where Yuuto was waiting in his high chair.
“Yeah, but I made dinner. It’s an even exchange.”
“Yeah, yeah, you’re always right.” Kise waved a hand at you dismissively and you chuckled as you watched him pull up a chair across from Yuuto and open the jar, wielding Yuuto’s spoon. You turned your attention back to the stove so you could begin plating the food. Not two minutes into cleaning up the kitchen, you heard the sound of glass thudding against plastic, and the sound of an exasperated Ryouta pleading with Yuuto. “Yuu-cchi, that’s gross! We just washed our hair!”
You quickly ran to the dining room, finding two blonde haired boys, covered in green goo. One showing off their few teeth in a wide grin, and the other contributing to future wrinkles with their deep frown.
